People who judge you based on the settings you play. I don't let it get to me - if anything, I laugh at it. I just find it hilarious that these bozos judge your entire skill level at a game because you don't play at the most insane, hardcore, "manly" settings. (I literally just came off a "conversation" where someone bragged they "manned up" and now play only the most difficult settings that games have to offer, and that anyone who does otherwise is a wimp. I didn't even admit the settings I play - he just assumed because I like building in my favorite biome in this game, I'm a cheap excuse of a player. I don't claim to be the best at this game, but I have 5k hours into it, so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing to some extent. And judging me based on this small detail? What a laugh.) It's almost comedic how far stuck up their own rumps these types of people are. So what if they play on easier settings? Let them have fun for goodness sake. On top of that, taking my example above, it makes you out to look like a fool judging someone based on one decision they make in the game (like not playing hardcore, or not settling in the most ass kicking biome) without knowing anything else about them in regards to the skill level they have in the game.

And undoubtedly all stationed in their makeshift man-cave that’s in ther mother’s basement. These types of people are seriously doing nobody any favors. Just let people enjoy their playstyle in peace. Well given the nature of the housing situation right now, I don't tend to use that insult anymore. I still live with my parents and that will likely be the case until well after the inevitable crash happens... whenever that will be. But yeah, I totally get what you mean. |

If anyone judges me, I just choose to shrug it off, knowing that my morals on the matter are fairer than theirs. I also get a bit of satisfaction knowing I'm a better player than they'd ever give me credit for, but I don't like to brag. Yep, and that's why I fully understand why plenty of women pretend to be dudes online, including and especially when playing video games. Anyway, I just find this case kinda funny since they were judging me based on my settings... when they didn't know or ask for the rest of my settings. That's like judging someone's fashion sense based on the scarf they wear during the wintertime. You're kinda failing, mate. Lol |

not a vent but this discussion reminds me of this time in 8th grade (or maybe freshman year) when my parents made me go to a church youth group event thing, and they had one of those video game trailer things.
i walked in and saw a group of teen boys playing super smash bros and got kinda nervous. i was almost always the worst player at home. so i picked up the one spare remote and said something like "im not very good, haha, hope thats okay". they were like yeah thats cool.
i proceeded to absolutely destroy them. that was the day i realized i was actually really good at super smash bros. i just happened to be the worst of my hyper-competitive siblings who were gaming gods and played every match like high-speed 4D chess, and that was my only point of reference for skill.

this happened yesterday but i'm just now really feeling the annoyance of it all.
yesterday me and the people i live with (my partner, my partner's sister, and my partner's sister's bf) all went out to eat at this newish place and the total ended up being around $70.
i was under the impression that i'd just be paying for me and my partner and that their sister and her bf would pay for themselves but they said they didn't have any money so i ended up paying the full bill.
i wasn't too annoyed about that tbh if they don't have money they don't have money what annoyed me was what happened next.
that same day after staying at home for a couple of hours they went out to eat again and apparently they had money for that.
oh and something else that irritates me is that they didn't even eat the food at the place where we went at first they were like
"i'm not really feeling hungry rn"
even though they were the ones who suggested we come there then.
the food was great though and the people were really nice so that was an upside but the next time i go i probably won't be bringing them.

This is absolutely comical. The same guy who called me a "baby" for not playing the most hardcore way is STILL commenting on that post. He's made 7 posts since I had last logged in, the most recent one was posted about an hour ago. They're all like, "Living in this biome proves you are a baby LMAO", and, "You are such a pathetic little wimp. How many hours do you have in the game, like, 12?" I swear this is almost the levels of satire, even though it clearly isn't. *Shrug*  |

I have to preform my monologue for my theatre class in about 30 minutes and I'm terrified. I hate preforming monologues because I'm all alone and there is no else to support me on stage. It's sad because mine is only about a minute but its really bothering me.

I wouldn't be shocked if this was true. When you have no deadlines, no expectations, no general supervision, it is a miracle when anything is put out. This has been Valve's way since forever ago. |
