oh! and season and weather; i feel like that should just be one thing. the five clans all shouldn't have different seasons or weather going on. like rainy in river but sunny in shadow.
would a tentative clan page format be like something like this?
- welcome/intro
- maybe rules? * unless that is on the joining pages since everyone will have the same
- about
- territory/camp
- member track
- relationships
- mentors/apprentices
- allegiances
i think we were looking for territory descriptions? Thought about the season and weather thing for a second here. I was thinking we could do a thread or like a post on the clan pgs that include season and weather? If we did a thread for like all 5 clans, the idea I had was the following: - welcome - season & weather - hierarchies (each clan's leaders, deputies, medicine cats) - plot??? (if necessary) - something else that's important? Also, I like that as a tentative pg format. but yes if I remember correctly, we were looking for territory descriptions. |

Thing is, being vague will be confusing. We're essentially saying to require a neutral, positive, and negative, but we're not including it in the form. That doesn't make sense. Context with the other traits can also help with traits that can be all three. I really don't want to have to spend a lot of time trying to help someone correct a form because we didn't put a preventative beforehand. Fair point, I'd rather that we be clear in our rules, especially when it comes to joining. Plus, we need the application process to be as easy as possible. I think if we just stick to the positive/neutral/negative and it makes sense, then it should be fine. Plus, those that are Clan owners, you'll have to approve forms, then add the member to the Group and after that, you'll add their form to the thread. At least that's how I think it'll work based on what I know. |

I think the idea of legacies for the clans would be really neat, Rain!
I am personally not too picky on traits. as long as your character seems well-rounded, it is all good ~
I was looking for in-depth descriptions but it looks like we might have to type those up our own? One of the guides has a nice "about" sections about each of the clan besides Skyclan (since it didn't exist before publication) I have several maps and one includes SkyClan I can also borrow Cloudstar's Journey to read more about what landmarks stand out if that helps? Are we going to even out landmarks among the Clans? ThunderClan always has a lot, and I feel like that's unfair. |

positive/neutral/negative makes sense to me.
We can include helpful links to trait lists and generators.
RanGen is my favorite generator xx
And I am sure if you ever googled personality traits, you have seen this list.

We can assign the three trait format to some of the clans and a simpler one to the other clans. I am so happy you have one.
And that would be super helpful and yes. Thunderclan gets a lot of glory.
Like I feel bad but the only thing I remember about Windclan is their gorge (which they share with river lol) and how close they are to that barn xD
RanGen is the best.
I use it alot when I make new characters especially since it has an "advanced" option.

I can confirm that making them pick a positive, neutral, and negative works better than just trait. It's better to help someone out figuring the right combination if two traits conflict or seem confusing than to nitpick and fix a form. Also, you can make the Clans clash, which is not a good idea. Some may opt for a Clan that seems less restrictive and that can drag the others down. Not to mention that this will complicate things way further than they need to be. |

I can darken it and color the boundaries. We may seek interest in two versions that show who has Sunningrocks.
I may be getting ahead of myself, but what about plot events and stuff like that? For example, maybe things are boring in WindClan and ShadowClan and the leaders with their mods message each other and decide to make one raid the other? It would be random but also match who is against who at that time. Just in case we don't have plots. I think we can also create outside events likes contests and such to make the community for tightknit?

but i fully support bringing contests to the forest territories; like apprentice contest. I always thought that was neat and it could be fun to roleplay.
Unless we are thinking about outside-outside events like : short stories & art. xD

Ooh, I like the apprentice contest, we can also include that as well! I did meant short stories and art, but if we include discord, we can try for game nights that have free games and with people that are comfortable. |

We need plot management, I know it was mentioned before. We could do a Discord (easier and faster than a thread) so that clan owners & roleplay moderators can discuss things.
I like the idea of going outside of rp and doing like game nights.

Sorry to bug in again but just really wanted to say something regarding game night!
I was in a clan a while back that did game nights every so often, which involved trivia on things happening inside the roleplay, and then a bonus round that was more for creativity. The winner would sometimes get a character or some other type of prize for in the roleplay.

Ooh, yes, prizes like could be cool. I happened to look at the forum's discord and someone mentioned a bot named Littlecloud that had trivia. Maybe we could use that?
Traditions are a big plus that I support, but I think we should limit how many each Clan has so one Clan doesn't have a bunch. We can also have a few that are shared but with variations and some that don't have anything to do with the others. Though I do want to say I don't want to have one where it's a proposal between two cats that like each other. It's something I see often and it's always similar.
I was going to suggest a major plot event, but if we have a plot at some point, we may have to reuse some and it could kind of get out there in regards to the plot? So I think the apprentice one would be nice to do! |
