It took Abby some time to wake up. She woke up fully as James started his call with Cam. Well that and loosing the warmth of James. She had rolled on to her stomach and was watching James pace in her quarters. Her face was nearly unreadable. She sighed, thinking. This nigth was the best that she had slept in the longest time. Of course she had to wonder if it was the wound, alcohol and drugs or if it was James that brought out the deep sleep that she desperately needed.
Bones woke as soon Cam pulled away, but his first instict was to not let the woman out of the bed. Becuase sometime in the night, Bones had wrapped both arms around Cam and pulled her even closer to him. At least he was able to reign in his instinct in, and he simply propped himself up on his elbow. He groaned as Kirk made his normal comments. He shook his head and rolled his eyes at Jim, even though he knew Jim wouldn't be able to see him. Once Kirk was off line, he sighed again. "Just like Jim to kill the morning with a debrief How did you sleep?" He asked, softly.
"Of course Captain. Sounds good and thank you. I will be there in 20 minutes." T'Aimnu responded. She sounded a little slow. Almost like Kirk had woke her up. "Captain, how is Abigail? I hope she slept well? She doesn't have any more bruising?" She questioned hoping for the best for her friend.
Abby smiled softly at Cam's silence and gave a small shake of her head. Well at least she had a good night's sleep. Then came the roll of her eyes when T'Aimnu started asking about her. She slowly rose, picked a few things and disappeared into her small bathroom. She reappeared about 10 minutes later, ready to go for the day. She still didn't have full color back to her, but Abby was looking much better. Even under her makeup, there were a few bruises that McCoy had missed or popped up after she had left the MedBay. Even Abby's arms had a few highly visible ones.

“She’s fine, T’Aimnu.” Jim replied, grinning now because of the Vulcans concern for her friend. He looked over at Abby when she started to get ready, as if to make sure her condition hadn’t changed. “She slept well.” He replied, stifling a yawn. It was probably some of the best sleep he’d had in a while. Whether that was because of Abby, or because of how exhausted he was, he wasn’t too sure. Kirk started to slip on his shoes and straighten up his hair and clothes. There was still a cold spot on his shirt from the night before, but it wasn’t visible enough to be an issue. “She has a few more bruises, probably some Bones missed. She’s probably sore, but she’s moving around alright.” He paused, realizing half these questions could be answered once T’Aimnu saw her friend. He laughed a little and shook his head, despite the woman not being able to see him. “You’ll see Abby soon enough, you can answer these questions yourself.” He watched Abby reappear, then added. “Kirk out.” The man turned his attention to Abby. “How are you feeling?” He hesitated, hoping he hadn’t made a poor decision. “Are you up for this?”
Cam rubbed her face, sitting on the edge of the bed, somewhat annoyed with the situation. “I’m going to kill Jim...” she muttered, half heartedly, before yawning. She leaned on the headboard for a moment, tempted to not go and make the Captain hunt her down. She immediately dismissed the idea, and moved completely off the bed. “I slept better than usual.” She admitted, looking at Bones when she answered. “How did you sleep?” She asked, gathering her uniform together.

Abby sighed her mood deflating even more as she sat up her bed. "Not really but after this, if I ever see the bastard's face again it will be too soon. The sooner it's over the happier I'll be. I'll be lucky if I don't rip his face. Or the screen off in this case." She sighed, standing and started towards the door. She waited for James to leave. "Do you need to change or get anything from your quarters before everything goes down?" Abby wondered. "A fresh uniform or something? I'll eat something later. It's better if I go into this on an empty stomach." She grated out, having a tight lipped frown of disgust on her face. She looked around, making sure she didn't need to do anything else. The woman had some bruises that had sprouted over the relatively short night on her arms and neck/face area. Nothing that makeup couldn't hide 90% of.
McCoy nodded his approval, trying to smooth out his pants and let a chuckle out. From there he slipped his blue shirt back on. "Oh fine. Actually the best that I've slept in a while." He didn't want to let too much out. "Too many people are at that point of hunting Jim down from time to time, Cam. It's a bit too normal, myself included." Bones smiled.
T'Aimnu nodded as Kirk ended the call. She took about 20 minutes to get ready. Half of which was spent examining herself for bruises, she didn't find many. Which pleased her. At the end of the 20 minutes, she pulled on her boots and headed to the Bridge.

“Alright...” Jim sounded hesitant. He still wasn’t sure that the crew was ready for this, but he knew it had to be done. The sooner, the fresher in their minds, the easier it would be to heal from afterwards. “If you need to step out, you can.” He tried to offer, then laughed a little. “If you want to rip his face off, I’d be fine with that. The screen can be repaired, I think we’d all like to see that ripped off his face.”He smiled faintly at the idea, a small act of defiance against the Admiral he’d come to hate. Kirk hesitated for a moment. “No, I’ll be fine.” He decided his shirt wasn’t that wrinkled, but didn’t move to the door. Instead, he went into her bathroom for a minute or so. He came back after patting his hair and shirt down some more. “Lets go.” He walked through the door, looking on Abby to make sure she was with him.
“I’m not surprised... He has terrible timing.” Cam snorted. Discussing the events of yesterday was about the last thing she wanted to do in the morning. She still smiled a little as she walked into the bathroom to change. After a dozen or so minutes, she came back out, ready to go. “Do you need to clean up before we go? You’re welcome to.” She offered, thinking briefly of food, but deciding that the debriefing wouldn’t take that long and that she could wait.
Spock, who had been near ready when he got the call, still waited a few minutes in his quarters. Knowing Jim and the others, they wouldn’t be ready to go for at least ten minutes after his call. After about 15 or so minutes, he walked down to where they would meet.

"Alright. Let's get going." Abby sighed, starting to get to the bridge a few moments before James did. Her started to card through her ponytail anxiously. It was only a few moment of her doing this action that she pulled her hair out. She took a few moments to do a quick braid of her hair. There was no way in hell that Abigail was looking forward to seeing Cartwright again. If she was, Abby's only reason why would be for her to never ever see the bastard Admiral again. And if she did, it would not be a pretty sight by any means of the word.
"I'm fine Cam. Jim definitely has absolutely terrible timing. Or the vest best of timing depending on how you look at it." Bones replied, smoothing out some of the bedheaded hair. He started out her doors into the corridor. "I just want to get going. Honestly. I've got to check in with a couple of patients after the debriefing and double check everything is alright, especially with my Medbay." McCoy grumbled as he started to the bridge.

Jim watched Abby, progressively looking more guilty as she looked more anxious. He knew this wouldn’t be easy on her, but he also knew it was necessary at some point. Still, he didn’t like putting her through this once more. He walked in silence with her up to the bridge. He frequently looked over at her as they walked, looking fairly concerned about what would happen. Once they reached the bridge, James looked back over at Abby and finally spoke. “Whatever happens, we’ve got your back.” He said softly, finally meeting her eyes. Then he walked in and looked around.
“Captain, Commander Smith.” Spock greeted the two as they entered. He quickly scanned Abby, curious of how her injuries had left her.
Jim seemed to relax a little when he saw his friend. “Spock. How was your night?” He asked, moving more into the room and glancing around for who they were missing.
“Restful. I expect your’s was the same?”
Jim nodded, silently wishing he was still asleep. “Some of the best sleep I’ve had in a while.” He smiled a little, speaking more to himself than to Spock.
A few moments after they entered, Cam and McCoy joined. Cam, who was planning on letting Kirk know of her grievances, first saw her friend. She forgot about her plan for a moment and smiled at Abby, just glad to see she was up and moving. “Abby, how are you feeling?” She had assumed McCoy’s mention of patients to be checked on included her friend. “They let you out of Medbay? For this? Kirk must really want to get this over with.” She assumed the reason Abby had been let out was for the debriefing.

Abby nodded slightly at Jame's words. "Commander. T'Aimnu." She greeted the two Vulcans as the female Vulcan entered the room. "You know McCoy can be a softie when it comes to the Captain. Eh, could be worse. Has been worse. Remember the cave, T'Aimnu?" Abby shook off the memory as best as she could. It was obvious that the woman was a bit stiff, and definitely sore from her movements alone. She still didn't have full color in the skin. Abby moved to type a few things. It was obvious that she wanted to be anywhere but there. She didn't want to see or even talk to the bastard Admiral.
"Commander, Abigail, Doctor, Captain." T'Aimnu nodded in greeting to each male. After a few moment of analyzing Abby, it was obvious to the Vulcan and everyone else, that leaning over to input the commands to the secret channel was not agreeable to Abigail. Just as T'Aimnu was about to insist that Abby step back and let her help, Abby stepped back and waited for the com to be answered. From there the female Vulcan brought her critical attention to Cam. "Yes in deed, I recall it." The woman stated simply, not going into any details. She refocused on Cam. "Cam how are you doing? And did you sleep well?" She questioned.
"Hi Cam, Doctor McCoy." Abby stated, even though she had her eyes on the screen. She could never guess how long it would take for the other end to answer. Seconds, minutes and even a few times it took hours for the callee to respond. She started to pace. "T'Aimnu if we ever have to work for the Sect, I for one will not accept it and two it will be too soon no matter the length of the time even if it's decades in the future." She huffed quietly and quickly.

“I’m alright.” Cam glanced down at the fresh skin on your hand, as if just now remembering it. “I slept well.” She looked back at her friend, noticing just how pale she still looked. “It’s good to see you awake. You scared us.” She gave a small smile, still mildly concerned for her friend. She was more scared for the other woman’s mental state rather than physical. Her eyes turned back to the screen, waiting to finally put a face to the name of the man that had put them up to this.
Jim looked between the screen and Abby as she typed. He wasn’t sure how this would play out. Typically, debriefings didn’t have this much tension. Missions were typically no where near this. He halfway expected someone to attack the screen, and he knew whatever words that would be exchanged would not be kind. When Abby finished, he turned his attention to the screen. For a brief moment, he glanced around the room. In any other situation, he could trust Spock and T’Aimnu to keep a level head, no matter what. Now he wasn’t sure about T’Aimnu, because of her history with the Admiral. He trusted himself even less than normal.

Abby continued to pace for a good ten to fifteen minutes, waiting for the Admiral to answer. The moment the Admiral's face appeared, Abby had her back to the screen.
"Captain Kirk, Commander. I hope the mission wasn't too arduous for your crew." Cartwright stated, small smile on his lips. "Where's my favorite Vulcan and Commander?"
T'Aimnu out right rolled her eyes as she stepped into the view of the Admiral. For a Vulcan, she was and looked outright peeved. "You do not have the rigth to call me any but by rank and name." She stated icily. "You had no right to recall the Commander and back into the Sect." She added, nearly grinding the words out. "Let alone this ship. You are right along the bottom with scum of humankind."

Cam, who had little idea who this guy was or how awful he was, looked fairly shocked. She knew he was an Admiral, but she’d never seen one be so outright disrespectful before. “Who is this jacka-“ She started, but was cut off by Jim. “You aren’t going to be the least bit professional about this, are you Cartwright?” Kirk had heard already heard enough from the Admiral, but yet the man seemed to pile on more. “We went into that mission blind, and you did nothing to help. We weren’t equipped for something like that.”
“Your ‘favorite Commander’ nearly did not make it back to the Enterprise.” Spock added, with about as much snark as possible for a Vulcan. He clearly did not enjoy how Cartwright had addressed T’Aimnu.
Jim glanced over at Spock, then looked back at the screen. “None of us would’ve made it back if it hadn’t been for her and Lieutenant Commander T’Aimnu. We would’ve died in the fight, or at least a good chunk of us.” He grimaced slightly at the thought. “We weren’t ready for that, and you didn’t give us warning. You were willing to send lives down there and risk them, for what?”
“If the Commander and Lieutenant Commander were enough to narrowly create an escape, the mission would have been more successful with a crew made from individuals of their background. Instead, placing the Enterprise’s crew endangered them and jeopardized the success of your mission. I would have to agree with the Lieutenant Commander, you are ‘the bottom of the scum of humankind’.” Spock didn’t sound as upset as the others, but he was clearly more upset than was normal for him. It may not have been incredibly noticeable to the Admiral, but the crew could see it.
“The point is,” Jim had gotten worked up the longer he had to stare at the Admiral’s face, “ you sent us in there blind. Why? Why did you drag us into that, and why couldn’t you at least spare us some information?” He nearly growled out, trying to refrain from yelling at the screen.

This wasn't exactly how Abby thought things would fly. Sure, it was a possibility, but not the preferred way. She turned and headed back to the screen. Gently putting a hand on Jame's arm, she had her back to the screen so the Admiral couldn't see anything. Abby's eyes were gentle, and said that she needed to handle this. She literally started to say James out loud, but caught herself. "Captain." She turned to face the screen. About the same time, she just seemed to become tired and worn down.
"Cut the diplomatic crap Admiral. You almost get off on sending me off on missions like this. You didn't even tell me that they prefer to use freaking old world rifling. I. Got. Shot. By. A. Bullet." Abby sighed, completely angered. "You don't know how painful those things are until you're hit by one. And you know I've had more than my fair share of injuries." Abby shot off. "You had no right to send the Enterprise in there like you did. I hoped that you learned that you can't pick on the Enterprise like I let you do with me."
After being called out Cartwright seemed to shrink and was knocked down a step.
Abby sighed, she liked what was happening with Cartwright. He finally saw the mistake that he made. That he could no longer pick on her because the Enterprise made her stronger.
With that Abby nodded. "I got shot by a freaking bullet." She repeated in disgust and disbelief, more to herself than anything thing. She wavered for a moment, T'Aimnu putting a hand on her arm to support her. It was obvious to the Vulcan that that woman shouldn't be put in this position. If she had to, she should still be in bed to do the report.
Abby stalled, and then started with the play by play which took a good twenty minutes to get through.

James looked a little surprised when he heard Abby’s voice. He hadn’t been expecting her to speak up during this, especially not so calmly. He looked over at her, not pulling away from her touch, even though it surprised him. The look in her eyes was possibly what shocked him most, but it made him respect her more than ever. Jim hadn’t expected her to want to take part in this, but here she was handling it.
The look on Cartwright’s face seemed to please both Jim and Spock. The two, in their own varying degrees, had had enough of the Admiral. It was good to see him knocked down a peg, better to see it come from Abby. Jim gritted his teeth for a moment when she emphasized the bullet, still upset that she was the one that had to endure it. He moved his arm to her back when her energy seemed to fade briefly. He gritted his teeth once more, wanting this over with so that she could rest. Once Abigail had finished retelling the events, Jim turned his attention to Cartwright. “Are you done? Do you have what you need?” He asked, still sounding aggressive. He wanted to remove his crew from this situation and that man as soon as he could.

(Should the girls turn into dogs on the bridge?)
Normally there would some questioning back and forth, but Cartwright was shocked into silence at Kirk's outburst. "Uh yes. Yes. Section 31 thanks you for your service. Cartwright out." The man had a very uncertain smile before he blimped out of sight.
Abby leaned against a wall the moment the Admiral had mentioned Section 31. She shook her head and her hands went into the air as she walked out the door. So the secret was out. There was no more trying to hide it.
T'Aimnu had a very similar reaction to her human friend. Which entirely was agressive and out of character for the Vulcan. "Bastard. Goes against everything Star Fleet stands for." It was loud enough for everyone to hear. And weird for the Vulcan to even curse in the first place. She muttered on her way out. The Vulcan needed to talk to her human friend on the best way to approach what was going on. She never trusted the Admiral in the first place. She also had to find out how Abby was doing.

(I’m thinking that, yeah.)
Kirk, who almost had a smirk at Cartwright’s reaction, once again had his feet pulled from underneath him. Section 31? Once again, the Captain was as confused as anything. He looked over at Spock, who’s eyebrow was raised. The Vulcan turned to him and they exchanged looks. Abby and T’Aimnu were involved in Section 31? And Cartwright just released this information so easily? The two men turned their attention back to T’Aimnu at her outburst. Kirk almost looked uncomfortable. Despite knowing Spock for so long, he’d still never seen a Vulcan curse. This was a new experience, and somehow he felt responsible for it.
Spock was frozen, both eyebrows raised. He’d seen T’Aimnu slip out of the Vulcan norm before, but this was the most human reaction he’d seen from her. With good cause, from what he could tell. The Admiral had released a part of their past to all within earshot. Still, he was surprised by the outburst. He eventually turned to glance at the others around the room, watching as Kirk and Cam followed the two women departing, before following as well.
Cam’s jaw practically hit the floor when she heard T’Aimnu’s outburst. She was already surprised by Cartwright’s reveal. She watched the other two women leave, finally remembering to close her mouth. She remembered how Abby needed rest, then started to follow, out of concern. Kirk followed close shortly after, having similar worries about Abigail. Spock followed after a moment, more curious about how the situation would play out than anything else.

McCoy was the first of the men to emerge from Jim's ready work. He emerged to nothing but stares from the entire bridge crew and the turbolift closing completely on T'Aimnu. All of the stares were balanced between a spot right in front of him and the turbo lift. He took a few steps forward to a bright yellow pile. He kneeled and looked between the clothes and Kirk with a distinct frown on his face. "Jim we have a problem." He picked the garment up and stood up. "We need to to find them. Now." He added, being dead serious.
By the time the turbolift came back, McCoy took a look inside and only saw some blue material. Which that escalated his frown.

Jim couldn’t catch a break. Everything was throwing him off. Sure he was used to strange situations, but this? Right now? The girls definitely couldn’t catch a break. “What is it?” He looked at the garments, puzzled. He looked around, as if they may have just been plucked from their uniforms. It didn't fully click for him, what had happened to the women.
Spock almost immediately recognized the situation. He frowned, walking towards the turbolift after McCoy. “Doctor, I thought you found a cure for this? What would bring this back?” He paused, considering that it could be something else entirely. “We still need to find them.” He agreed, then boarded the turbolift.
Jim followed behind, confused. “Where did they go? Before?” Then it clicked as he boarded the turbolift. “Again?” He almost sound exasperated by the situation. Maybe it would take some of the stress off the women, if they had no memory of Cartwright for the moment. It could also be worse. Still, he worried that his assumption was false and this was something else entirely. If he was right, somewhere on the ship there were three dogs running around, and they’d have to figure out how to get them back.

(I dunno if you’d be interested, but Netflix has a new show coming out about Space Force. Not exactly sci fi, more of a comedy, but the cast looks pretty good. Thought I’d let you know because I just found out about it and absolutely freaked out. Has some folks from Veep on it, as well as Steve Carell and John Malkovich.)

(I’m not a huge fan of the Office. I ended up watching it because it was like The Thing To Watch a while back there and it was alright. I actually enjoyed the Orville, What We Do in the Shadows and Veep more than the Office, but those aren’t super big hits. I’m hoping this show has a bit more going on than the Office did, but I’m also just super excited cause of it being Space Force themed. Feels like there could be a lot of good material there. Also I typically enjoy Malkovich’s characters, so I’m looking forward to that as well.)

"Obviously I did Spock or else they would have never become human again in the first place. Dammit Jim we need to find them. If I had to guess, it's the drinks from the planet plus the stress of the mission. With Abby the cocktail of drugs along with everything. I need to check all them out again. Any number of things could have happened. For all I know the virus could have mutated."
Shaking his head, McCoy was in disbelief. "We never can catch a break." The man sighed. "Jim once we get the girls, you may want to explain to the bridge crew what the hell they saw back there. Judging by the look on their faces." McCoy sighed. "Also do you two remember where we found them the first time around? Do you think we should bring Chevok, Sulu and Scotty on this? Just more bodies to cover more area to find them sooner?" The doctor was in complete and total disbelief. Then again with Jim along for the ride, this was right down his ally. "I just hope they all the same as the first time around." He grumbled.

“The stress could have triggered a reaction from the virus, that is common.” Spock agreed, hoping that was it, and that there was no mutation. That way, the cure would still work and the women would soon be back to normal. Little did he know, they would once more be searching for a solution to this issue.
“Fantastic.” Jim huffed out, rubbing his face a little as they walked. “Yeah, I’ll explain to the crew...” Something else to add to the list to explain, even better. He let his hand slip down off his face. “I think one of them got up in the ventilation somehow, so we may need someone to look into that. I know Abby didn’t have anything to eat this morning, so anywhere with food may be a good place to start too.” He sighed out, then gave a nod. “More bodies is probably better.” He agreed. “I want to find them before they tear up my ship.” The last thing they needed was a dog chewing through something important, or scaring the daylights out of their crew. “How long will the cure work for, if it still works at all?” He asked, wondering their time constraint.
(We adding in Scotty, Chekhov and Sulu for this? I think I roleplayed Sulu right? Did I roleplay as Scotty as well or was that you?)

(My friend group has joked around about it since it’s started. Now, one of them is actually an army wife so I don’t know how enlisting would work out for her anyways. Just recently my cousin sent me a thing about Adult Space Camp, which is apparently a thing? And that somehow restarted the jokes. So now we are certain Adult Space Camp will put my cousins name on a list and then Space Force will enlist them, because a two day camp is clearly a major qualification lmao. I can’t believe it’s been over a year since this all started though, that’s insane..)

(We can. I did both of them. Where should they find them? All together separate or What? )
"Wasn't Cam the one who got stuck in the ventilation?" McCoy signed. "Jim I have no clue. They are going to have to be lab rats unfortunately to answer your question. Like I said any number of things could've of occurred to cause the change. I just didn't think it was possible to revert to being a canine again." He muttered. "I'll go check Engineering and see if Cam is down there. You two might want to check their quarters to see if they're there." McCoy sighed, moving to get down to Engineering.

Post by bearpaw123 on May 10, 2020 12:27:32 GMT -5
(Okay. Maybe separate so they’re harder to find? Where do you think they should be?)
“Great..” The last thing Jim needed was a dog up in the ventilation system that knew where she was going. He gave a nod, knowing McCoy wouldn’t know anything until they found the women. “I’ll call in some more help.” He called up to the bridge again, giving a brief explanation to Sulu and Chekov for what they saw. Then he told them likely places to search. Next, he called down to Engineering for Scotty, giving him similar information. After that, he set off to Abby’s quarters.
Spock left shortly after McCoy. He first went to check T’Aimnu’s quarters. He wasn’t sure if she had eaten, or where exactly a dog version of her would be drawn to. Sure this had happened before, but not long enough to learn her behaviors. He decided his best shot was to check her quarters first, then look in other places she frequented as a human.

T'Aimnu was at the door to her quarters, trying any way to just get in. By this point, she had absolutely trashed the keypad while stand up in her hind paws and leaning against the wall. The dog had nosed around in the compartment and it was a shock that she hadn't shocked and knocked herself out by now. She was currently chewing on the middle of some electrical wire.
Scotty stopped what he was doing with a huff and started to rant about all the stuff Kirk some how managed to get the crew and his baby into. He started to looked around all the nooks and crannies a dog could get into.
Meanwhile Abby was having the time of her life scaring crewmembers by running past them and sliding around corners and sliding around in general.
Some where along the line Chevok had left the bridge and was helping Scotty search Engineering which was a mammoth task in it of itself.

Spock turned the corner to see T’Aimnu on her hind legs. He couldn’t see the keypad for a moment, but knew she would tear it up soon enough. “T’Aimnu, down” He sped up, now seeing her chewing on wires. “T’Aimnu!” He called out again, knowing she would shock herself if she chewed too far. He went to pull her off of it, then stopped, realizing the pull could cause her teeth to go through the wire. He watched her, clearly worried that he’d be carrying a zapped dog to Medbay. The Vulcan stood next to her, a foot or so away, waiting to see what’d she do.
Sulu walked almost aimlessly around the ship, uncertain as to where any of the dogs would be. One seemed to come to him, or at least run by him. He caught a golden retriever’s tail turning the corner in front of him. “Captain, I think I found a golden retriever.” He called Kirk, then told him the corridor before beginning to quickly follow the dog. That meant practically running through the ship, which also meant nearly running into people as he did.
Jim made it to Abby’s quarters, but with no luck. He didn’t check inside, doubting a dog could get in. As he started to walk again, he got Sulu’s call and started that way. He started to run, knowing the golden retriever wouldn’t stick around in one area for long.
After leaving the bridge, Cam quickly made her way to Engineering. Despite being a larger dog, she made it there with relatively little attention drawn to her. She passed behind much of the larger machinery, sniffing the air as she went. On occasion, she would sneak out from the passageway she was using and greet whoever was working nearby. Typically, this would shock them, which made it more fun. After barking at one of the engineers nearby, she once again dipped into a tight, secluded passageway behind some machinery. She hadn’t worked herself deep into Engineering yet.
