[[ I hate student loans so much. Also I’ll have a response soon, just have to do some work that I’m currently procrastinating on ]]
[[ Also I’m game for the three of them meeting up. I had no idea for what Alex would do so that works for me. ]]

//Couldn't help adding my previous prophecy candidates ^^"
//Also quick background info on V- His family is like the Weasleys. They're everywhere
-
It took a bit of convincing- and patient needling- but Veive eventually managed to calm the irate Elemental down enough to have a somewhat level conversation. Raes Danse is a relatively well-known figure in the Gather- and not for the best reasons- so it'd make sense that he'd be suspicious of anyone who had access to his personal number. Still, Veive is almost hurt that he constantly seems to forget that they're family and thus shouldn't have the same level of distrust. He ignores this minute thought in favor of the matter at hand, burying it under his usual cheery tone. "Ah, if you don't mind cycling back to that favor I'd like to ask of you..?"
Shouting in the background and the brief hum of electricity before abrupt silence. A grunt, then a sigh. One of resignation rather than irritation, at least. "Yes?"
"I'm sure you've heard of my...prophecy," He begins, making his way through the city in earnest now. There's a bookshop just across from an idyllic park that is ideally located halfway to his apartment. It seems like a good, central place to start. This might be inspired in part by his inability to resist the nostalgic lure of the place, however... Veive's step falters a bit when Raes interrupts his attempt at continuing- "Shouldn't you start at the Town Hall then? Or the city center? The Spire?" His tone is no longer put-upon; it doesn't take much for Raes to slip into 'Problem Solver' mode. "You didn't think of that, did you?" He doesn't even need a response. "It's no wonder you were always lost when we were younger- it's common sense V." Veive laughs sheepishly and runs a hand through his hair. "Oh, that does make sense...haha..!"
"I'll keep an eye out regardless, however; I'm interested in seeing where this will lead. Keep me posted."
That sounds a bit too much like a dismissal, so Veive hurriedly tacks on a; "Please don't change your number, then!" And seizing on Raes' answering pause, adds, "Could you give me a bit more information as well? I'd really appreciate it!" More shouting, followed by loud bangs and a noncommittal hum. "A red dragon, two passengers, and an angel were recently spotted landing not far from city limits. I'll send you the location."
"Oh~ Thank you Raes! Lo-" The connection is cut rather abruptly, and his phone sings with the arrival of a new message. Veive smiles down at it before returning the device to his pocket. He has a lead now, and it sounds promising! A red dragon would indicate a redheaded shapeshifter, right? And though he's sure there're no shortage of those, if the unusual group sticks together, they should be fairly easy to find. And the location isn't far from his original destination! So, logically, they'd have to pass by his chosen haunt at some point, right? Raes was conscientious enough to send the exact time they'd been spotted and if Veive does the math, factoring in that they likely don't know what or who they're looking for either, he should have enough time to get a refreshment and greet his favorite clerk!
"Right!" Veive claps gloved hands together in a definitive motion- only to dip into another apologetic bow when he startles a passing werewolf. "Right!" He says again, in a softer tone. "Good plan~"
Not long after the construction of this 'grand plan', the Elemental finds himself at a window seat in Ba Singh Books, cradling a lovely hand-painted cup of tea and one of the latest in a series of adventure novels. Admittedly, he's a bit too engrossed to be watching the window, but he does chance a glance or two when he can spare his eyes. He'd just had a rather animated reunion with the elderly clerk and she'd assured him that she would also keep a lookout for any persons of interest who may pass by, so he's reasonably certain that his plan remains sound. And it isn't like he's wasting time- he's doing research! All adventures seem to follow the same formula, after all. What he learns now could be valuable later!

//Thank you Starchaser~! ^^ Sure! I've kind of set it up where they can meet by accident at the bookstore- they could even just be interacting awkwardly or not without realizing that they're all part of the prophecy until later or something lol And V or the bookstore owner could recognize Alex in some way? If he's prominent in Vampire society? Or just rich? V is a Gucci Boy too
//oof mood. They might as well be known as a life sentence

The Angel opened her mouth to reply again, but stopped as Zephyr added his thoughts. Oh a Town Hall? I didn't think they would have one of those here. He brought up a good point. If there were elders in the city, perhaps they would know what to do. "If the elders are meeting at the Town Hall, then that would be a better start," Avani agreed. She glanced towards the others, interested in their opinions. When the Wizard spoke up, the young woman turned her attention to her. Lilah talked about exploring the city a little and seeing of she could find the others. She turned away and began to head towards the Gather. The Angel stood for a moment, blanking out briefly. Wait...
The young woman walked forward slightly. "Are you sure it's a good idea to go alone?" Avani called after her. It didn't seem the Wizard heard her. Either she was purposefully ignoring her or was too far away to hear her. The Angel decided it was the latter. With Lilah off on her own, Avani sighed and turned to the others. It was getting late and they really should get going.
"I suppose the rest of us are going to the Town Hall then, right? We probably should get a move on in that case." Avani was ready to leave, but paused. "Does anyone know where it is?" The Angel had never been to the Gather before, let alone outside of Angel territory. She didn't even know where to begin to look. Avani could only hope one of the others knew where to go.

[[ I don't think so? I don't know, I always thought that Alex's coven would stay in vampire territory. They'd probably be mildly well known in vampire-dominated areas, but not outside them. Another vampire might recognize him but I don't think anyone else would. ]]
[[ Also I would love to see what V and Lilah would read. Alex would probably go for romance novels and comedies. And maybe an occasional self-confidence booster. ]]
Alex heard Lilah. He stood there, frozen, entirely unsure of what to say. What seemed like a magical night, full of starlight and wind, was suddenly tainted by that sudden... realization? No, that was not the right word. Alex's feet were molded to the ground, ice-tipped blades of grass dancing by his ankles in the light breeze. He finally moved when the angel—Avani, wasn't it?—called after Lilah. Alex did not know if anyone else could have heard her, but somehow he felt responsible. She protected him, it was only right that he do the same.
"I'll go with her," Alex called to Avani, already beginning to walk after Lilah. "Meet all of you at the Town Hall later, by next midnight at the very latest."
Unsure of his future destination, Alex just walked after the wizard. His brain, in natural Alex fashion, began to overanalyze the situation. He checked his posture again (straighten your spine, shoulders down, head level, weight evenly distributed across your feet, stomach sucked in...) and stuffed his hands into his jean pockets. Once that was all acceptable, albeit not perfect, Alex's brain began to focus on what he had said. It was too straightforward, direct, he had not even waited for a confirmation, a go-ahead. And what would he say when he caught up with Lilah? Should he run ahead? He was faster, he could catch up right now, but that would certainly startle her. What would happen then?
Alex just ran. It was not even really running, not for a vampire, just a quick jump from one spot to another. A brisk walk. He returned to a normal pace a few steps behind her, unsure of what to say. Instead, in a move of true ingenuity, he coughed.

[[ I love it! I liked the idea but had no idea how to expand it, I love what you did with it. ]]
Damn it.
Alex had no idea what to say. Somehow in all the rush his only concern was how he would announce himself. No thought was given to what would happen afterwards. Alex scrambled, ideas of what to say flashing by in his head. One would be rejected for being too evasive, then another for being too direct, and another for being too prying. After an eternity or a moment grappling with what to say, Alex just blurted it out: "No."
Immediately he regretted it. That did nothing to get to the point of why he followed after Lilah. Oh goodness, the phrasing of that thought... Alex held back a grimace. He really just needed to explain himself. He stepped closer, placing his feet down loudly enough so the resulting sound would be a decent indicator of where he was. He had no idea how dark the alley was to someone not accustomed to nighttime like vampires. Awkwardly leaning against the wood about a foot from Lilah, Alex turned his chin towards the sky. Funny, he had never really bothered to look at it during his stays in the Gather. It was peaceful, a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the city center. The Old District had a strange mysticism about it, the ability to calm visitors in its enchanted nostalgia. The mist that settled across the streets, the gentle glow of the lights, the steady curves of the cobblestones. The Old District could calm anyone.
It made Alex calm enough to be honest. "I heard you earlier, right before you left. I thought you might want to talk about it? I know we are basically strangers but, well, it looks like we might be on this trip together for a while. You are under no obligation to talk to me about it, but I will listen if that is what you want. I know this is a bit forthright, but it is the best I can do."

Zephyr isn't a reader, but he would absolutely love Alex's sportscar collection. He would be asking to drive one, though, not ride shotgun. xD Zephyr watched Lilah and Alex take off with a frown. He glanced at Christina, then Avani, and shook his head. He couldn't help but wonder who's bright idea it was to choose three (possibly more) introverts for this quest. They were people who needed a lot of alone time and required more energy than most just to hang out with a couple people for a few hours. And now, eventually, they would be forced to spend all their time with seven other people almost 24/7, for wandering off alone in enemy territory would not be smart.
So maybe it was a good idea they were getting that alone time now. And if they weren't in a hurry to get this adventure started... well, then Zephyr figured he may as well take his time too. In the most exciting way possible.
"Right," he said. "Guess we are splitting up for the night. I'll meet you girls at Town Hall tomorrow morning." He gave them both a two finger salute and a devil-may-care grin. Then he shifted and soared upward and toward the city wearing the form of a white-tailed hawk.
He flew high through the city, between skyscrapers and fancy towers. His goal: the bustling heart of the city. He plummeted downward, shifted when he was mere feet from the sidewalk, and seamlessly joined the hustle and bustle that was the Vegas District.
It was filled with nighttime revelers and gamers and gamblers, all looking for a night of fun and excitement. No one here noticed the late hour — or if they did, they didn't care. They had money in their pockets and places to spend it. What more could they want?
Zephyr knew what he wanted: good food. Interesting company. And the chance to try some crazy new things. And he had just bought himself all night to do it.

(I'm not sure how much of a reader Avani would be. I don't think she would really have the interest or patience to sit down and read for long unless it was an interesting topic for her. Though I think she wouldn't mind being read to.)
So Alex was leaving too. Avani sighed, though didn't complain. The two would be safer together anyway. She turned back towards the group ready for the rest of them to head to the Town Hall. Only Zephyr talked about leaving too. The Angel looked towards him as he grinned and shifted into a hawk. He began to ascend into the sky and towards the city.
"Wait! The rest of us should probably stay- Aannnnd he's gone," Avani sighed. She could fly after him, but that would leave Christina alone. She didn't want to do that to the Reaper. "Why is everyone leaving?" She groaned. Avani wasn't annoyed. Far from it actually. However they had all just gotten together and now they were splitting up. Alex and Lilah had run off together and now Zephyr had flown off on his own to do whoknowswhat. Shouldn't they be discussing the prophecy? Maybe get to know each other better? Try and find the others in the city? It seemed they would have to hold that off until they all met up again, which would be tomorrow morning at the earliest it seemed. Avani turned towards the Reaper and offered a friendly smile.
"Do you want to go off as well?" She asked curiously. Avani couldn't force the Reaper to stay there with her. Actually she couldn't decide what any of them did for the time being, even if it bothered her. She continued to smile at Christina. A part of her hoped she would stay. Perhaps it was selfish. Avani didn't know where to start in the city and had never encountered a place like it before. Admittedly, it did frighten her to a degree. However she couldn't force anyone to do anything and made sure she didn't let her personal biases show to Christina.

//uuuuhggg sorry I got forced into socializing with the fam and love the world building!!!!!
Christina watched as everyone started to head off in their own directions, Lilah and Alex wander down near the Old District and Zephyr fly off into the skies towards the middle of downtown. Of course I get stuck with the boring duty of town hall, no surprise there. Maybe we can take a quick swing by and then head off somewhere to grab food. Christina turned towards Avani, she looked a bit frazzled since everyone bolted off and gave a quick nod. "Yeah, let's check town hall first, maybe they'll have some insight." Christina replied with a faint smile as she walked in the direction towards the larger capitol-looking building. She wasn't exactly sure what they would be able to offer to the group but it was surely worth a shot. Then she went back to thinking about where she wanted to explore in the city, there was the South District, of course, that had a lot of bookstores and trendy shops and lots of home-cooked meal type of restaurants and this one specific bakery that had wonderful lemon tarts. There was also the Vegas District, home to the glitz, glam and gambling of the Gather, and the restaurant where she had the famous lava cake. There was also the Midnight District, home to a lot of vampires, demons and reapers, most of the buildings and shops were underground and her extended family had a small apartment there that they used on trips, it wasn't anything special, but it functioned. She turned back towards Avani and slowed so they were walking together. "Have you been to the Gather before?" She asked.

The young woman nodded in agreement. Avani smiled and felt relief wash over her. She was glad she could travel around with someone in a place unknown to her. As they headed towards the city, she reached down and held her golden crystal. She had usually kept it around her waist, but in the Gather where it would draw more attention she thought it'd be better to hide. So as gracefully as she could manage, she untied it and awkwardly reached into her backpack to hide it away. It was likely safer in there than out in the open. Avani wasn't fond of the silence between the two of them. Before she had a chance to say anything, Christina was asking her a question. The Angel laughed.
"Nope I've never been here or outside of Angel territory really. So really everything's new. What about you?" It seemed the Reaper might have been in the area before, but Avani didn't want to jump to conclusions. As they entered, the Angel quickly became a bit overwhelmed. People were gathered everywhere and the buildings dwarfed the structures she was used to. Then there were the lights. Every night the streets of her home were lit up with warm, almost lifelike lights made by her people. Then there were almost always storytellers who told tall tales with their abilities. They could create moving images, almost like a movie. It was a somewhat uncommon ability that some had. She and her family were a few of those people, though she wasn't the most skilled with the power.

Alex continued to look at the sky, crossing his ankles and absently observing the stars as Lilah spoke. He did not want to interrupt. Starting this conversation seemed like something of an achievement, and he did not want to break it. Honestly he had never been in a conversation like this one. Feelings, especially negative ones, were taboo subjects for vampires. Just carry on, do what you're supposed to, don't bother us with your emotions. Alex himself did not agree with this sentiment, but he had never been able to break it. He was just too scared to do that. Thousands of years of tradition demanded he conform, who was he to say anything against that?
As Lilah spoke, Alex wondered how wizards dealt with feelings. Clearly she was more open than a typical vampire, but that was not saying much. Alex just let her continue, unsure of what he could say. He wanted to help, yes, but how in the world could he do that? When Lilah paused, Alex faced his head towards her. He admired her vulnerability. Maybe she was not telling him everything, maybe she was (Alex had no idea how to gauge people's honesty with this sort of thing), but he admired her ability to say that much. He never could. It was amazing to see someone willing to be so direct. So honest.
He kept his gaze steady, mildly self-conscious about the red glow. He glanced at Lilah's necklace while she fiddled with it before looking back at her, trying to maintain a steady gaze. Trying not to show how unsure he was. He was not afraid of what Lilah was saying, of course not, but of what he could say in response. Once Lilah trailed off, Alex was left there even more unsure. There was a lot there to discuss, and he did not know where to begin. Running over the different bullet points—worrying people, feeling something's wrong with her, feeling she's less capable, feeling insignificant—Alex tried to choose which was the easiest to approach.
"You can heal people, right? If you ask me, that's amazing. I cannot speak for another species, but vampires are built to hurt people. That's what we do. We're fast so we can chase our prey, strong so we can hurt them. The red eyes are for intimidation, the teeth are for, well, killing. Sure, turning into a bat doesn't hurt anyone, but it is meant to let us run away. If something goes wrong, you change and flee. The bat is self-preservation, nothing more. Everything else is meant to hurt someone."
Alex stopped, surprised by his diction. He normally avoided contractions and grammatically-questionable sentences. Strange how sincerity provoked their usage. "The ability to heal, however, that's something beautiful. You are made to help people, to relieve them of their pain. That is incredible. It's honest and selfless and kind. Just plain kind. If someone broke their leg, I would have no idea what to do. You, on the other hand, could stop their pain, save them from infection, all manner of thing. I would just be hungry. That's why you're so important. When we stumble, you can help us back up. While others are meant to hurt, you're meant to help. To heal. That's something priceless. It's amazing."

"Yeah, I usually come with my cousins every year, on vacation. We have a place down in the Midnight District, it's not very expansive, but it's a place to sleep and has a nice kitchen." She answered, remembering when they all came in the spring and attempted to make enchiladas and they almost set off the smoke alarm. They would usually stay for about a week and go exploring through the city, do lots of shopping, eat at a couple nicer restaurants and hangout with some other reapers they knew there. "I've been to Angel territory a couple times, my family always goes over to get some of those vanilla candies you guys make," she explained. The last time Christina herself had been over to the lands herself, she was about nine and didn't remember much except for the light magic dancing along the streets every night. As they walked, Christina could see the town hall coming more into view, it was a large white capitol building, made of marble with thick pillars surrounding the outside. On the walkway up to the front doors, eight large, marble statues stood, seemingly watching down over anyone who dared enter the townhall, four on each side. Each statue was a generic depiction of all eight species of Fylaria in their natural forms. Christina walked up, going on the right side and spotted the werewolf statue first, a marble bust of a large wolf, holding its head back and howling at the moon as if it were right there. Next to it stood a large bust of a girl with long hair, holding large flames in both her hands. Probably the easiest way to depict the elemental. Third was a man with curled horns atop his head and large bat wings protruding from his back, you could also see faint swirling markings along his skin, the demon obviously. Lastly, was the statue Christina was not such a fan of. She stood in front the marble, staring up at one of the most disturbing statues she had ever seen. Before her stood a very tall man, with multiple set of eyes covering his face. Coming out of his back were four sets of long, insect-like legs and his fingernails extended out to claws. His face seemed to be frozen in fear and one of his arms reached out, ready to grab someone. Makes sense, most people are scared of spiders, but like, everyone wonders why people think we're scary? She lightly shook her head at the statue and kept walking.

(I've returned from my travels. I'm not sure what the gender ratio is so lemme know if I gotta change it. I haven't had much sleep so I'm not sure how accurate everything is. I'll have to fix it when I wake up tomorrow.
Xaoc Natrye - Male - 18 Xaoc stands at 6"4 and weights in at about 175 pounds. They're really skinny and you can see they're ribs most of the time. You can see a lot of their bones poking out against the skin. They're truly "skin and bones." But despite the way they look, they aren't sick nor do they have a disease of some sort. They're just naturally skinny and to be quite frank they eat more than they should. They're skin is a light orange, almost peach colour and bears a single black line spreading from the palm of their right palm, around the wrist to the top of the arm, which then runs along the arm to the shoulder. From there it splits, one line going around the neck to cover the whole left side of the face. The other part spreads down the spine and down the back of the right leg. They're eyes are a calm grey but it still stands out from the light orange of the most of the body.
If you were to describe them in just a few words they'd be: Rude and blunt but passive. Xaoc doesn't have very many opinions about other entities. You simply exist until you have a direct interaction with them. First impressions are ultimately what decides their opinion on you because in all truthfulness the chances you're going to get to change their mind is a very small number. They'd rather not talk more than required and they only speak when there's something that needs to be said. This is where the "blunt and rude" part comes in. They don't sugarcoat things. No matter how cruel or hurtful it may be. They have no regard for how it might affect you or make you feel and will act almost as if you were a book being read for their amusement.
They do however have a more likeable trait. They love plants. A lot. So much they'll risk their life for one. They also carry around a small pouch containing about 20 pumpkin seeds. No particular reason but it's there just in case.
Their crystal is a light magenta with splotches of yellow here and there.

[[ Yes! I would love a map! And I didn't think the post was messy at all, it's certainly cleaner than my stream of consciousness writing : ) ]]
Alex laughed at Lilah's comment about him as a bat. It was oddly reassuring. Becoming a bat was the definition of cowardice in certain vampire communities. Not in Alex's coven, thank goodness, but it was still seem as immensely rude. A form of showing off, of flaunting an uncommon skill that was not particularly useful. Alex was unaware of outsiders' view on the shift. Really he doubted that they had an opinion on it because it was so rare for a vampire to willingly change in front of outsiders. Regardless, Lilah's comment was warming. Alex would have blushed if he had not already begun metabolizing the blood.
"That sounds nice," Alex offered. He pushed off the wood to a fully standing position, weight evenly distributed across his feet instead of pressed against the wall. "What's the address?"
Oh dear, he shouldn't have asked that. Alex could never remember street names. Perhaps that was part of his generally horrible relationship with direction. Besides, that comment shifted the conversation from deep, emotional discussions to polite discourse about nothing that mattered. It seemed like he should continue talking about it (wonderful Alex, just distance yourself from the issue with impersonal words like "it"). The vampire rolled his shoulders back, unsure of how to reframe the conversation. Eventually, he settled on a failure of a response: "I don't think you leaving was selfish. Sometimes people just need to think about something away from large groups of people. There is no shame in that. If you need space, you need space. Taking time for oneself is natural, we all need to do it sometime. I mean, I abandoned you all briefly earlier. It would be a bit hypocritical of me to force you to always stick with the larger group.
"Besides that, you really don't have to compare yourself to everyone else. I know that's somewhat of a cliché thing to say, but it's true. Magic is amazing. It's versatile and capable within the subject or whatever you call it. It's really interesting. I mean, I must admit I don't know much about it, but it's still kind of incredible. Besides, your 'power' or whatever is not everything about you. The person you are is what matters. You wandered out into the middle of nowhere because you believed in something. That says a lot. Had my grandmother not ordered me out of my coven, I never would have left. Coming this far takes a lot of courage. Climbing on the back of an aggressive dragon takes courage. For goodness sake, I did not want to get on and I knew I could fly on my own if I needed to. You've already shown plenty of character by making it this far.
"And, well, as for vampires... I'll disagree with you on that one. We have done plenty of horrible things in our time and never apologized for any of it. Granted most of it was against each other, but still." Realizing that such a topic was also going off track, Alex tried to reorient himself. "Oh, but if you ever need to talk about this, I'm here. Been in similar situations before and... I don't know. I cannot promise great advice or anything, but I will listen and do the best I can. Also, and this is a bit weird, but thanks for not being uncomfortable around bat-me. We have pretty strict customs around shifting, so it's reassuring to hear it's not disturbing or something along those lines."
Hopefully his tone was light enough? Probably not. Was he rambling? Certainly. Oh well.
[[ Oh lord that was a mess. ]]

(Yes Starchaser! I love maps, both making them and seeing them.) Avani grinned. "That sounds nice. My extended family always visited us, probably because of my parents. They're very...protective. Anyway, I know exactly what you're talking about. My cousins bring over vanilla candies whenever they visit. It's a nice treat. Unfortunately I can't say I've been to Reaper territory. As I said, I've never left home before," the Angel said softly. She was a bit concerned with how her inexpierence with the world could affect her part in the prophecy. She wasn't exactly naive. That wasn't the right word for it. However she wasn't used to traveling around and didn't have the expierence everyone else seemed to possess. Then there was the concern about her parents. They hadn't exactly know that she left. Avani sighed and pushed the thoughts aside as they neared the Town Hall. The young woman glanced at Christina curiously. "What's the Midnight District?" Although she was curious to know, Avani quickly became distracted by the sight ahead. There were marvelous marble statues that lead to a brilliant building, which appeared to be made out of the same material. As a common theme of the Gather, she hadn't seen anything like it before. "Is that the Town Hall?" Avani asked in amazement, gesturing towards the building ahead. It seemed like it was, but she still had to ask. Each of the statues depicted each race of Fylaria. They were well-kept and rather beautiful, even if some of the depections seemed unflattering. The Angel could tell Christina was uncomfortable by the Reaper statue. She put a hand on her shoulder in an effort to comfort her, but didn't know what to say. It was clear the girl was uncomfortable with it and Avani only hoped she didn't make the Reaper feel worse.

//ooo yeah i'd be done for another map!
"Eh, you're not really missing much, it's a bunch of smaller cities up in the mountains." She replied, thinking about her own place back home. Christina lived with her aunt in a two bedroom apartment in one of the larger cities of their territory. Her aunt worked as a principal for a local high school and Christina was working at a cafe downtown, still not sure if she wanted to go to college or what her life plan was. Well, I don't really know if I have a choice on that anymore. "It's a District downtown that's a underground and bit more dark and interesting, I guess is the right word. It's big with demons, vampires and reapers. They have some apartment complexes and there's a lot of street artists and they have some theatres and clubs and cafes were people perform sifferent poems or songs. Kind of like an underground arts district, literally." Christina answered Avani, as she spent most of her time there during her visits, she loved listening to all of the new bands playing songs while having a good cup of coffee. After staring at the reaper statue and the mildly disgusted look made its way onto her face, she felt a hand on her shoulder, giving her a strange sense of calming and warmth. She gave a small smile and nod to Avani upon seeing the Angel and then continued on. She glanced back at the other statues; an old wizard with his wand flared out, casting a spell, a shapehifter as a fiery phoenix, ready to soar into the skies, a sleek vampire, her fangs out and ready to attack and lastly was a beautiful angel statue, her long flowing hair and lovely halo and wings stood out against the rest. She shook it off and kept walking. "Yeah, I've never actually been inside, so I'm not sure where to go."

As can be expected of such a borderline flighty individual; Veive's novel can't hold his interest long enough for him to finish it, though he later attributes his restlessness to impeccable timing on his part. He's once again browsing through the shelves when Miss Singh's chicken irately announces the presence of more potential customers, stalking down a parallel aisle with a wary squawk of protest. An answering hum can be heard from the back room- she doesn't mind letting him help customers when she's otherwise occupied, so Veive thinks nothing of waving his book back to its floating shelf and rounding the corner to greet whoever has just walked in. The streets are strangely deserted tonight, particularly those of the Old District's, so he isn't sure to what expect in terms of clientele- and this rings especially true when he nearly comes face to- probably somewhere around his chest- with two people who. Don't exactly look like they'd be friends? But Veive is glad if they are! Tensions have been high as of late, with most keeping to their own after the unsolved death of such a prominent figure- But here they are, visiting an old bookstore at a very interesting hour~
He notes that they're both dressed for travel and have a bit of a windswept appearance- as well as an...air that he can't quite put a name to yet. But he looks forward to trying~
"Good evening~!" As exuberant as his greeting is, Veive's lips only curl into a mild smile as his roseate gaze flicks between the red-eyed vampire and- possible wizard. He's been around both long enough to correctly identify other beings for the most part. "I'm Veive! Please do let me know if you need help with anything~ And it's a bit chilly outside, isn't it? Would you like something warm to drink?" He tilts his head invitingly, smiling at them both though the vampire's brighter eyes seem to indicate that he's recently fed. Veive doesn't want to be impolite by excluding him, however! If he wants his 'drink' of choice, Veive wouldn't mind stepping out to find him something suitable.

//gotcha~ ooh, headcanons already! I haven't had the time to come up with anything really concrete yet ^^" Oh less noticeable- to what degree? Only to those who are looking? Or aren't? I can rework my post if V isn't meant to notice her/see her at first~

[[ Alex's crystal is around his neck, so it should be pretty obvious. ]]
Alex, entirely unsure of what to say. He was thankful for her offer, unsure if whether or not he would ever act on it, and even more uncertain on whether or not he should ask her more about whatever she was feeling. There was a fine line between generosity and forcefulness in these sorts of situations. Instead, Alex settled for a simple "thank you." After that, the conversation morphed into shared silence.
The walk was slow, steady, silent. Oddly comforting. Alex smiled as they walked past Banfaet Court, the circular end of which was surrounded by his coven's vacation home. It was comforting, in a way, knowing that the building was there. It served as a strange form of protection. Continuing on through the neighborhood, Alex began to recognize more familiar landmarks and stores. The pair passed by the local butcher, a wizard who preserved the animal's blood and left it for the occasional vampires. Vampires preferred the blood of humans or humanoids in general, but the occasional bird did not hurt. Alex glanced at Lilah as they passed, wondering if she knew about that system. It was an open secret for vampires, but who knew what other species knew about it.
Finally, they arrived at presumably the bookstore. Lilah confirmed Alex's assumption, and he smiled at the sign. It used a pleasing font, one that swirled and curved yet remained clear and legible. Alex vaguely remembered going into the bookstore, although all memory of it was hazy and questionable at best. He mostly stuck to the coven's private library or the main branch of the Gather's library system. It was near the city center, but goodness it was beautiful inside. Cozy and warm, much like this bookshop. Alex opened the door, thankful it was a pull and not a push (if it was a push then the logistics of holding the door open were complicated and questionable), and waited for Lilah to enter. "It's beautiful," he commented. "Thanks for suggesting it."
Once the pair had entered, Alex found himself staring at the man at the front of the little bookshop. He was... pretty. Okay, sure, more than pretty. Stunning eyes, a strong jaw, dear hell. Completely at a loss for words, Alex smiled, lips closed to hide his fangs (although the red eyes were a dead giveaway, damn them), and shook his head as a polite no.From there he straightened his back and almost literally ran away. Wonderful, so subtle Alex, fantastic job there. That was not unusual at all. The vampire pretended to browse, although he was not actually reading any of the titles. Instead he focused on quelling that horrible warm feeling in his chest. Whatever the case, Alex found himself hiding in the humor section. Maybe he could be productive there finding something for Lilah than ogling a complete stranger.
[[ I hope it's okay that Alex likes V? I can edit that part out if we want to avoid romance or whatever, just thought V'd be the sort of person Alex likes. ]]
