// once again I was thwarted but on the plus side I have no school or work tomorrow :')

There is a bit of a pause after his initial greeting and Veive takes advantage of the minute silence to discreetly push Ylil the chicken behind him with the heel of his boot- she'd been striding over to inspect the newcomers and he knows from experience that she isn't particularly welcoming at first. Though for that matter, she didn't seem to have a problem with the Wizard, her beady eyes were locked on the vampire. Which is to be expected- oh. The shorter man stared at him with some imperceptible emotion on his face before nodding with a silent smile and disappearing into the stacks. Veive smiles after him, though his head is canted quizzically, the array of dangling chains on his right ear brushing the curve of his cheek. He hopes he hadn't startled them by suddenly appearing, though the vampire must have heard him coming, at least? Or maybe his assessing once-over made him uncomfortable? They looked so utterly taken by the store's interior that his own admiration might have bled into his expression and he couldn't help looking charmed in turn.
Veive hums a bit, gaze returning to the woman after he makes a mental note to at least get their names, he doesn't like referring to others by their species- it feels divisive in some way. He brightens considerably when she reneges on her earlier statement, "Oh, I'd love to be of service~ I don't really work here but I like to help out when I can! And I've recently discovered- oh, of course!" He flutters his hands a bit in apology, "Take your time, love~" In the meantime, he'll try to make her friend more comfortable by warming the place up, a bit. And he seems to like the humor section, perhaps Veive could suggest a few titles..?

"Perhaps," the Angel began, "but when you've really only expierence the same things your whole life, everything new is exciting and interesting. Beyond that, I don't think you're really giving it enough credit. Maybe I'm biased in my assertion, but in my expierence every place has something special about it, even if it doesn't seem that way at first. Sometimes you just have to search for it." Even the most deserted towns and well-worn, archaic structures had something to them. Some rich history and a story to tell. Sometimes it was a grand tale of adventure and heroic triumph and other times it was a humble account of a farmer and their family. Each one was important to remember in it's own way.
As Christina began to explain the Midnight district, Avain grinned and even giggled excitedly. She recieved a few odd looks, which didn't exactly surprise her. For someone who supposedly looked intimidating- and she did, she just didn't see it -it wasn't that surprising. People wouldn't really expect a rather tall, muscular angel to be making such noises. "Wow, I've never heard anything like that before!" The Angel gave an excited flutter of her wings as she grinned. "How far does it expand underground? Under the whole of the Gather or just it's own district? Do other districts have underground areas too considering the subways and all?" The Angel had many questions and hoped she wasn't overwhelming the Reaper.
As they left the busts behind them, Christina offered a smile. Avani, of course, smiled back before removing her hand. So she hadn't made the situation worse. That was a good sign. The girl paused for a moment as they passed another group of statues. It depicted the last of the races of Fylaria. She stared, still in awe of the structures. Sure she had seen similar things before, but not to the scale outside the Town Hall. Her attention was pulled away from the busts as the Reaper spoke up. So it was at least somewhat new to her too then. "Well it's a good thing someone will know something inside." Avani continued along the path and quickly reached the doors. She hesitated for a moment before holding it open for Christina. A swirl of emotions began to dance inside her. Excitment and unease, which hadn't gone away since reaching the Gather, anticipation, happiness, a bit of worry, and a hint of relief. The Angel didn't know what to expect, but figured it would be a good start to their journey.

Hell. Damn hell.
Recomposing himself, Alex went through the entire checklist of posture correction. Not that he actually had to correct anything, but the general process was oddly soothing. It gave him some sense of normalcy and control which was unsurprisingly absent in a situation without his coven or any other vampires. The smell of old books and freshly brewed coffee, even if he could not drink it, was soothing. Inhaling and exhaling, Alex pulled off a random book from the shelf and began to read it. How Not to Feed Your Dragon. An odd coincidence given Zephyr's recent shift and all, but potentially amusing. The vampire flipped through, realized all of its potential did not manifest itself in the actual book, and put it back on the shelf. Onto the next book.
Breathe in, breathe out. Alex hated when this sort of thing happened. As a teenager, he met a girl in the Gather library's main branch, fell head over heels way too fast, and ended up waiting there for twelve hours until she left work so he would not have to walk by her sitting at the front desk. Some people just made his stomach flutter, and when that happened he became terrified. Frozen. All previous concerns about avoiding embarrassment were fully amplified. Completely so. Hence the breathing, the posture correction, the passively flipping through books. He had gotten much better at calming himself down since then (he later properly met her, her name is Abishola, angel, they went on a few dates before a mutual break up) and much better at actually talking to people.
Once Lilah found him, Alex was back under control. He had found an old comic strip about the oddities of vampire life, a favorite from his childhood, and was casually flipping through. Oh, the nostalgia. He did not immediately register Lilah's presence, that in itself signaling that he was still getting a grip of things. Still, he closed the book and turned to her as she spoke. Suddenly aware of how obviously he had fled, Alex became very happy he could not blush. Thank goodness, thank goodness, at least I don't have to worry about that.
"I'm fine, just remembered an old childhood classic and wanted to see if they had it. I lost my copy a few years ago," he lied unconvincingly. Alex had never been a great liar, and now he was regretting that.

Alex thanked Lilah and continued his pretend browsing, pulling out a book every now and then, leafing through, and then returning it to the shelf. The process was steady and repetitive, a combination that Alex found reassuring. The last few hours had just been a chaotic mess, so some calm and control was welcome. Alex only stopped once he had reached the cooking section, realizing that a vampire looking through recipes would be a bit... odd. Along the general line of potentially odd things, it was certainly not a good idea to have his crystal hanging clearly from his neck. Alex removed it, stuffed it into a pocket, and began to move back towards the front of the shop. It seemed like there were plenty of potentially interesting books (the small shop managed to fit a large selection), but Alex did not think he was quite ready for more interaction with strangers. How wonderfully antisocial of him.
Happy to see Lilah at the front, Alex smiled and waved. Act casual, act casual. Never mind the fact that waving was not a particularly normal gesture when you had last seen someone a few minutes ago, but it was too late to go back on it. Alex just hoped he could get out of there quickly enough.
“Not trying to rush you at all, but I’m ready when you are,” he offered. Alex was happy to see the three books with Lilah, but who knows? That could be the very start of a haul.

I get exactly what you mean. Drawing is diffcult. Even though drawing in the buildings was easy enough, keeping them all organized and neat was diffcult, especially because they're so small. Also keeping the roads/paths clear was a bit of a challenge as well. Also that's cool! Truthfully I wouldn't expect really anyone to have seen it.)

Christina shrugged at her first reply, I guess that's true, there's something about home that's just always making me want to go back. The architecture in reaper territory was new Gothic with very intrinsic patterns and designs everywhere you looked. Plus the food, all reapers loved dessert more than any other meal, so bakeries and sweet shops were abundant. "It's like half and half. The housing is primarily the underground part and everything else is above ground. And I think it's just the midnight district with the big underground area, the rest of them have small areas but just for the subway." She replied, trying to answer all of Avani's questions. She was thoroughly surprised at how little the angel knew about the Gather, even without a prior visit most people knew some sort of information about this city. As Christina walked inside the town hall, she gave it a great look around, as it was sure worthy of one. The marble continued onto the inside, leading into a circular, wide-open area. You could look up and see all the way to the seventh floor as each floor lead out to a balcony that you could view the huge area from. Around the first floor were a few different doors, and a large information desk. Around the walls were various paintings and mosaics of the history of Fylaria. Christina walked around, glancing over all the different ones, stopping at one featuring the battle of many creatures against various reapers. She read the caption, The Great War on Reapers, I remember some of that from history class, didn't they all try to get rid of us at one point long ago? Well, I guess we know who won that war. She side stepped away and went towards the information desk.

Veive is intensely curious about the pair but tries not to pry- initially- he can't help being aware of them, though! After all it is a bit strange for a vampire and wizard to be wandering- with apparent aimlessness- the Old District together so close to midnight. They're browsing the shop separately as well, and haven't spoken to each other since the wizard checked on her friend. He seems to be fine but Veive is a touch concerned that he required 'checking up on' in the first place. Is he sick? Does he not like elementals? Maybe the scent of Veive's blood doesn't agree with him? He wishes he could ask but he doesn't want to disturb a fellow avid reader. Even though the other man's journey through the store is more reflective of meandering. He doesn't seem to know what he's looking for, as he ends up in the cooking section with a brief pause as if he isn't sure how he came to be there. Veive, poking around the histories near the back of the store, hastily turns his back to hide his amusement.
He's on the verge of offering to help once again when the vampire's friend passes him with recent purchases. Not wanting to hover, Veive perches on the arm of an overstuffed chair that faces the door at an angle, one long leg tucked slightly under the other- and a chicken on his lap. She wasn't there initially, but quickly seized on the opportunity when it presented itself. He huffs out a laugh when the thin book in his left hand is nearly knocked away with a rustle of feathers. The store's sole customers near its front shortly afterward, with the vampire giving his friend a minute wave when their gazes meet. Veive limits his chuckle to another amusement-laced exhale and straightens a bit in his seat as a way of subtly drawing their attention.
"Hello again~ Pardon my intrusion, but I was wondering if I might get your names? I believe our earlier introduction might have been incomplete~" Veive cants his head with a slightly brighter smile, though his gaze briefly darts to the empty space around the vampire's neck. There's only a partially hidden chain now, but he could have sworn he'd seen something glinting there before? Oh!
"Omo!" Veive jerks upright, accidentally dislodging Ylil with a betrayed squawk and another flurry of feathers as she struggles to right herself. He doesn't notice her beginning to peck at his boots- or the tiny green flame that results- instead patting down his maroon peacoat in search of his crystal. It takes him a few seconds to realize that the book he's still holding hampers the search, and switches to patting around behind him to drop it onto the chair before finally locating the troublesome object. Veive gives a little "Hm~Hm~!" Of triumph as he pulls back the lower half of his coat and unwinds the worn ribbon tied around his right thigh. The roseate crystal dangles from the center as he holds it up for the pair to see, combing back cherry-red bangs from his face with his free hand. "Pardon- Have you seen anything like this before?"

"Wow that sounds amazing! Angels don't really have underground structures because of...well..." Avani trailed off and flutter her wings. Angles were meant for the skies. The vast, wide-open spaces where they could stretch their wings and be free. Living underground would have the opposite effect. Avani had more things she wanted to know, more questions to ask. She stayed quiet as the Town Hall came into view. There would be more time for idel chat later. For now they had to focus in the task at hand. Once the Reaper entered, the Angel followed closely behind. Avani didn't know what to expect from the building. Sure she knew it would be magnificent and an exciting sight, but she hadn't expected a towering ceiling and lavish decore. Mouth slightly agape, Avani took in the sights of the grand hall. Marble was plastered everywhere. The Angel had never seen something so pristine in her life. The floors, the pillars, the various staircases, and even the ceiling. It was almost overwhelming.
Christina continued on, almost seeming to brush past all the grandeur. Avani followed the Reaper towards a large desk. A man quietly sat alone at a computer. They approched and quietly stood beside the desk. He didn't make any obvious point that he noticed them, still focused on whatever job he was doing. As she quietly waited, the Angel studied the man for a moment. He was fair-skinned with short, brown hair. He also wore glasses. He wasn't an Angel or a Demon. He also didn't have any notable features to make him out as a Vampire. A Shapeshifter, Wizard, or Elemental perhaps? Avani didn't dwell on it too much. It wasn't that important. After a few minutes, he still didn't make any move that he noticed her or Christina. Avani cleared her throat, which seemed to get his attention. Though she wasn't quite sure that was any better. The man sighed, clearly annoyed. The Angel flushed slightly.
"Yes? What do you want?" He asked flatly. The Angel opened her mouth to speak, then closed it. What exactly do I tell him? Hi, I'm Avani and this is Christina. We just met today and we're a part of that one prophecy! By the way, there's more of us out wandering the city right now and we don't really know where they are. Can we see the elders please? The Angel thought for a moment. Well, there wasn't any reason she couldn't say that. It was the truth. However she also wasn't a fool. Putting in that way would also likely cause problems for them. Problems that she might not even know about. With a quiet sigh, the young woman decided to just ask.
"Yes. We were wondering if we could see the elders actually." Perhaps being so straightforward was a bad call on her part. Did people just ask if th egg could see such important figures? Or did it not matter? Avani would find out soon enough.
(Hey, feel free to control the desk guy because I have no clue how exactly things with the elders would be handled or if you have anything planned.)

//sure thing!
"Third door on the left, take the elevator up to the fourth floor, take two rights and it's through the gold door. Though, most of them have left for the day actually, I don't think they'll want to talk to tourists," the desk guy answered plainly, not really looking up from his computer. Christina was about to respond and argue that they were far from tourists, but she realized it was probably better if they didn't draw too much attention to their selves, plus could see from the reflection on the desk guy's glasses that he was playing computer games, so maybe he didn't care enough to shoo them out for the night. "Thanks," Christina replied simply and started walking down towards the door he had mentioned in his long string of directions. She walked down the hall and saw a set of elevators, glad that she was going in the right direction. She pressed the button for up and looked over at Avani, still surprised. "I'm honestly kind of surprised at how easy that was. I didn't know one could simply walk in and request to speak with the elders." Sure, Christina had been to the Gather, but never really focused or cared on meeting or seeing the elders, why would she? She knew the elder reaper from school and that his for was of this twelve-foot tall bleeding clown and that he was not the dead one and that was all she needed to know.

Avani nodded. "Thank you, sir." That was surprisingly easy, the young woman thought as the pair headed towards the door. Christina lead the way through the hall and into the elevator. Avani hesitated. She had never been in an elevator before. There was really no reason to. It won't be that bad. I'll be fine. With a quiet sigh, she entered on. No one stopped either of them as they entered, though it wasn't like there were many people around. It was late. The fact that there was anyone was surprising to her, even unusual. Most shops and buildings of that nature would've closed hours ago. Her family would've had their evening meal then shared a few stories for the people of her town. The Angel smiled fondly for a moment as she thought about her home. It was the main reason why she was there. The prophecy- whatever it truly entailed -would make the world better for her family. The Reaper speaking up took the girl from her thoughts. She nodded in agreement.
"Yeah. Even back at home living in a small town it's far more diffcult to talk with our town head. As you said, we basically just walked right in. At least this we'll be able to get some information faster," Avani noted. As the elevator toom them to their destination, she glanced towards Christina.
"Have you met the Reaper elder before? I've met the one for the Angels in passing before. She was nice enough I suppose, but I don't remember much about the meeting." She was only about ten or eleven when the elder came to visit her village. Avani veaguly remembered her speaking with her speaking with her parents, but remember much beyond that. She wondered if the other girl knew more about her elder. Soon enough the elevator dinged indicating their arrival on the right floor. Avani looked towards Christina with a smile.
"Ready?"

[[ It's fine Spider, it takes me a ton of time to respond too. I just get stuck on what Alex would do a lot ]]
Alex, infinitely grateful (and admittedly a bit surprised) that Lilah did all the talking, was happy to not say anything. He felt like he had never spoken before; the concept of creating sound seemed both unpleasant and impossible. So very convenient, that was. Trying to remain pleasant, Alex relaxed his stiff smile into a more neutral expression. Unfortunately that tended to look bored (we have a reputation for being disinterested in other species, don't we?), so Alex scrambled for a different expression. He tried to just look interested, nodding along to Lilah's response, but then he was just nodding too much. Nod. Nod again. Nod again and again. No, that certainly would not work. Alex settled on just smiling and trying not to look directly at the stranger.
Instead, he ended up looking at the stranger's necklace. The rose quartz reminded Alex of his eyes, a slightly rosy blend, and oh dear goodness no stop thinking about that. Alex fumbled for his own crystal, pulling it from his pocket and holding it up by the chain. That hand shook slightly, the quivers abnormally fast but thankfully minute. Hopefully minute. In a surprisingly bold attempt to draw attention away from his nervousness, Alex answered the stranger's earlier question: "I'm Alexander. Or Alex, if you would prefer. And you?"
Like he did with almost everything we said, Alex immediately regretted that comment. It had almost nothing to do with what Lilah had just said, and worse than that he messed up his own name. Granted, Alexander was his legal name, but correcting it was still a mistake. No one ever called him Alexander, why would he bring that up? Alex smiled at the stranger, stuffed the crystal back into his pocket, and looked back at Lilah. Please say something else, please say something else. His fangs slightly peaked out, a misstep that was quickly corrected. Goodness, Alex really was losing it.

Hey, guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been around, reading all your posts, and I think you're being too hard on yourselves. Your posts are great. Even when they're "messy," they're great. Also, those maps are freaking awesome! While the other chosen ones were meeting up, getting to know each other, and exploring the different places the Gather had to offer, Zephyr was... doing none of that. His evening went something like this:
After landing, Zephyr was almost immediately approached by a kid barely old enough to be out late, let alone in the Vagas District. Then again, Zephyr really couldn't blame the kid. He himself had been in this District many times before he was technically old enough.
The kid's eyes were wide as he looked from Zephyr to the air above him and back again. "Oh wow. You're a Shapeshifter — a good one. How did you get so good at shifting in motion?"
Shifting in motion was a term Shifters used to refer to, well, shifting in motion. Essentially, an "in motion" shift was where one form was moving one way (i.e. flying), but when they shift into another form, they effortlessly alter their motion to seamlessly flow into the movements of the new form. In Zephyr's case, he went from flying to walking without hesitation, pause, or stumble. Shifting in motion was a skill all Shifters had to work at, and it was one many were never able to master. Some could perfect it with a few choice forms, but very few could pull it off no matter the form they took.
Zephyr was one of those few, though he rarely — scratch that, he had never been complimented for it before. He was pretty sure no one had ever noticed, and if they did, then they had no idea that what they had seen was anything special.
"Practice, kid," Zephyr replied with a grin. "Practice and repetition."
The kid frowned. "There's no way it's that easy."
That made Zephyr laugh. "Who said anything about easy?"
"I, well, you — Wait, what?"
Zephyr chuckled again. He threw one arm around the kid's shoulders and started walking with him. "What's your name, kid?"
He looked a little surprised by Zephyr's casual embrace, but also pleased. "Kai," he said.
"Nice to meet you, Kai. I'm Zephyr. Now, why don't we finish this conversation over a hot meal? You look like you could use one." Zephyr cast a critical eye over Kai. The kid was tall but slim, barely on the right side of skinny. Zephyr couldn't quite peg his age, but he couldn't have been older than fifteen or sixteen. And his dingy clothes suggested his life was a far cry from one of luxury.
Kai turned a little suspicious at the offer, but it was also clear that he was hungry. "I can't... I don't have any... money."
Zephyr canted his head. "I offered you food. You really expect me to make you pay for it? Come on, I got you covered." He lowered his arm and put his hands in his pockets as he continued on, leaving the choice up to Kai.
Zephyr counted the seconds in his head as he walked slowly away: Three... two... one—
"Wait." Kai broke into a jog to catch up. He fell in beside Zephyr and looked up at him with a hesitant smile. "You buy me food and answer my questions, and I'll take you wherever you want to go. I know this city better than anyone," he boasted, with just enough sincerity that Zephyr believed his claim. "Deal?"
A slow grin slid over Zephyr's face, and he put his arm back around Kai's shoulders. "Deal."
~ • ~ • ~ Zephyr spent over an hour at the restaurant, answering Kai's endless stream of questions while they both ate enough food for three people. Kai's appetite was because he was still growing and probably hadn't had a decent meal in weeks; Zephyr's was thanks to all the shifting, which burned energy. The larger the shift, the more energy burned.
Between Kai's questions about shifting in motion (and shifting in general), Zephyr managed to ask a few of his own. He learned that Kai was actually seventeen — barely — and that he lived in the Warehouse District, which didn't surprise him. The Warehouse District was where the poorest of the Gather's citizens lived. It was definitely the worst part of the entire city, and a place Zephyr was all too familiar with. He didn't mind leaving discussions about it behind.
Kai actually had a job here in Vagas District, and he had just gotten off when he saw Zephyr arrive. He had been on his way home, but promised no one would mind him staying out late. Zephyr knew Kai had almost said "care" instead of "mind," if only because that was something he had said many times when he was younger. But he didn't question the kid on it; they just moved the conversation along.
They mostly talked about shifting. Kai was a half-breed, and like all half-breeds he took after only one parent: the Shapeshifter. He didn't know what kind of monster his father was; his mother never spoke about the man. Also common in half-breeds was their weaker powers and less control over their shift. While a full-blooded Shifter could take any animal form imaginable (with limits on how long they could hold any given form based on how powerful they were), a half-breed Shifter could often only shift into a handful of different forms, and those were generally the first dozen or so the Shifter tried to take during childhood and adolescence. Then they would hit a point where they just couldn't take any new forms, usually just before or just after adulthood. There were exceptions, of course, where half-breed Shifters were as powerful as full-blooded ones, but they were very rare.
Along with questions about how to shift in motion, Kai asked Zephyr if he had any ideas for new animal forms before Kai's settling, which he said was close — he could feel it. To which Zephyr responded by asking which animals the boy already had in his arsenal.
Kai sat back in his seat (after finishing his third plate of food) and counted them out on his fingers. "Okay, okay, let's see... all seven of the biggest big cats, as well as the lynx and the bobcat. Then there's the red-tailed hawk, peregrine falcon, and bald eagle."
Zephyr propped his elbow on the back of his seat and rested his cheek on his upraised fist. "Sounds like you like cats," he said dryly. Kai blushed slightly, but Zephyr continued, "But I'm impressed. Seven big cats? That's not easy for half-breeds. But you have them, plus five more. Are you sure you have room for more?"
Kai, still looking pleased at the praise, nodded. "Yeah, I can fit one more. Maybe two, if they're smaller. So what —"
"A fox," Zephyr replied. "A red fox and, if you can manage it, a rat or a squirrel."
Kai blinked. "But those..." He didn't finish, but his disappointment with those options was clear.
Zephyr lowered his arm and sat forward, pushing his empty plate to one side so he could rest his arms on the table. "Those aren't very interesting, right? They're not. But you already have an arsenal of muscle at your disposal for fighting, defense, and escape. You need to add something more... subtle. Look at it this way: why do people hate rats?"
Kai crossed his arms and arched one brow. "Because they're dirty, carry diseases, and eat everything."
Zephyr gave him a bland look. "Because they can get into anything. Get anywhere. They can fit through the smallest holes and openings. And they're smart. If not for that, they wouldn't be able to live around people, and people wouldn't know about their nastier qualities — qualities, I might add, that only real rats possess. You wouldn't, if you turned into a rat."
Kai didn't look convinced. "Yeah, but... what would I do as a rat? What use would that be?"
Zephyr shrugged. "That's up to you, but if you think about it, and imagine the world from a rat's point of view, I think you'll be able to think up a few things."
That made Kai frown, thoughts churning as he tried to puzzle out Zephyr's words. Zephyr watched him a moment, smiling faintly, before sitting back and signaling the waitress.
"Why a fox?" Kai asked suddenly. "I'm not really a fan of canines."
Zephyr chuckled. "Yeah, I guessed that. But foxes are wily. Sly. Cunning. And small enough to go unnoticed if they need to. Plus they're cute." Zephyr grinned. "The ladies love cute animals."
That had Kai blushing again. "Right. Well, I'll think about it. Thank you, Zephyr. For... everything."
"You're welcome, kid." Zephyr picked up the bill the waitress placed face-down on the table, then pulled his wallet out of his inside jacket pocket. His fingers brushed his crystal as he did. He handed the waitress cash, told her to keep the change, and returned the wallet to his pocket. "Now," he said with a grin. "Let's go see this city."

Christina gave a silent nod in agreement before taking in a deep breath and swinging open the golden door. The door creaked loudly and opened upon two people in the midst of an argument. One was a tall, slender man, with pale skin, slicked-back black hair and piercing red eyes seen through his wire-rimmed glasses. He had a bit of a goatee and didn't look a day over twenty-five, but others knew that was a couple thousand years off. The other was a short and stout women, she appeared around mid-seventies with deep blue eyes and gray-brown hair that added about three inches to her height and was extremely poofy. Of course, the only two left for the night are the ones that hate each other.
"I just truthfully don't understand why it is such an issue to stand down for the time being, if we know were a base is then we should use that to our advantage." The vampire elder argued.
"If we don't attack now then we don't know what those Hunters could-", the werewolf elder cut herself off after making eye contact with Christina. "I believe we have some late night guests," she whispered quietly. The man turned to see Christina and Avani and quickly looked away and cleared his throat, obviously feeling a bit awkward and caught off guard in the moment.
"And what might you two need at this hour?" He asked, narrowing his eyes a bit at the girls.
"Ummm...well..we're here because....we're here bec-cause.." Christina trailed off, her eyes grew very wide as she tried to reprocess their mission, but she was a bit caught off guard herself, as their were several candles lit throughout the room and if there was one thing Christina was afraid of, it was fire.

The reaper continued to lead the way through the golden doors. Like everything else in the Town Hall, they were rather magnificent. Avani cringed slightly as the door creaked open, marking their arrival. There were only two people in the room, the reaming elders who resided in the building for the night. One was obviously a vampire and the other a werewolf. The pair were arguing about something but quickly dropped the topic as they noticed the girls. The man seemed a bit suspicious of the pair, which didn't surprise Avani. Who would even meet with the elders at such a time? Christina began to speak, then trailed off. Something seemed to make her uneasy. Nervous even. Avani could hardly blame here. They were currently facing two of the most powerful people of Fylaria and neither were a reaper or angel. Drawing in a breath, Avani stepped forward.
"Sorry for interrupting you at such a late houe, but I believe we have some information that may interest you. We're here because of these." Avani paused and pulled her crystal from her bag, holding it up for the elders. She briefly glanced at Christina and offered an encouraging smile before turning back towards the elders. "I'm Avani Roshan and this is Christina. We're the angel and reaper of the prophecy respectively." The young woman closed her eyes briefly and sighed. She was being too straightforward. Again. The angel opened her eyes and shrugged. There was no turning back now. She didn't know how they would react. With interest? Laughter? Even throwing them out? Whatever happened, they would be fine. Probably.

Christina managed to compose herself after hearing the angel speak and she gave a curt nod. Reaching into her bag she pulled out a crystal, similar in shape in shape to Avani's but a deep purple. She extended her hand out, showing off the gem. The two elders stood there in shock for a moment, unsure of how to react, simply staring at the crystals sparkling in the dull light. Finally it was the vampire who managed to get it together and coughed loudly to break the silence. He rustled his jacket and nodded to the girls. "I thought the prophecy was just another made up tale that elemental told us for some peace at mind," he mumbled, glancing at the werewolf elder. "Anyhow, I can speak for us both in saying we are glad to have you here." He made eye contact with each of the girls as he spoke. "I'm not sure how much help we'll be to you, but we will however we can, lodging, food, supplies. Us and the fellow elders know about as much as you do. I'm guessing where ever the journey takes you, all eight crystals are necessary. Is it just you two?" She asked. Christina watched as they talked and looked to Avani for a response. She was glad to have someone who was talkative and approachable with her on this side mission and was happy to continue in letting her take the lead when talking to the elders. Plus, the two kept giving her suspicious looks, probably trying to figure out which monster she was.

The elders were shocked by the girl's words. That was something. Something not terrible. Avani took a brief glance towards Christina. She seemed to have calmed down judging by her relaxed posture, which made the angel smile. A stunned silence had settled in the room. Avani patiently waited, not entirely sure how to feel. Worried? Happy? Excited? After a moment, the vampire finally spoke up. Avani deflated slightly. So they didn't really have answers either then. On the bright side, at least they would be willing to help. She smiled at the pair and nodded. Before she could say anything, the man asked if there others. Right, that was important to talk about.
"No actually," Avani merrily replied. "When I came across Christina, she was with a wizard named Lilah, a vampire named Alex, and a shapeshifter named Zephyr. They...went off and did their own thing when we arrived. Point is they had crystals too." Avani paused for a moment. The elders had questions and she did intend to answer them. But she had questions too.
"So what exactly do you know about the prophecy? That is assuming we should have that discussion tonight." The angel didn't know much about it and the elders didn't know much. But perhaps they could share things with each other. Find out information neither group really knew.

"Lilah and Alex~" He repeats to himself with a minute nod, as if the gesture would help commit their names to memory. Veive's grin curves a bit with his rising interest. He knew it! Well he wasn't sure, but he had a hunch! And they haven't asked after what species he is so it seems they've already found everyone they're looking for? "Ah- Who is we, if you don't mind my asking? And I suppose you've already guessed at it, but I'm Byun Veive, your Elemental! I'm very pleased to meet you both- Lilah, Alex- and I look forward to working well with you~" He sketches a minute bow. "I'll be in your care~" Veive is eager to head to the Town Hall and meet up with everyone, what an auspicious meeting~ "Oh! Do you have a way of communicating with them? We should make sure we can all gather in the same place at once~" He absently wraps the ribbon around his wrist as he speaks, allowing the crystal to nestle in his palm. They've left their own crystals in clear view and he itches to inspect them further. Are they made of the same material? Do they vary in temperature or texture? Weight? What has their experiences with them been like? But that's a bit much to ask on a first meeting- and he's come to notice that Lilah and Alex seem like the kind to require a warm-up before fully engaging in the brand of socialization that he favors. But that's okay, because he's sure they'll have plenty of time to get to know each other.
Veive smoothes his features into an expression of mild interest but his eyes are still alight with vivacious cheer. "The moon is fairly high now, I'm ready to go whenever you are~" He'd have to duck back in to make his quick goodbyes to Miss Singh, but other than that he's absolutely ready to- do whatever it is they're meant to do. Perhaps the crystals will react when all have been gathered in the same place?
