Welcome!I always come back and crave the days of the old forums where I could dive into a clan of unknown and wonder. A clan that is evolving and has plans tracked out to explore an interconnected story and plot. I have so many old stories that have stayed in my heart, and it's been a long time since I've felt that same joy of storytelling with unique characters.
I've always loved multiple clan roleplays as the interactions possible between them simply creates more fun concepts. By planning and having close communication with the clan leaders, I think we could plan for some great events between our three clans. I am open to all ideas, but the one I propose as a starting point is this: Cats of the Blue Corn Moon.
What is Cats of the Blue Corn Moon?
The idea is that there are three clans. Their territory is a beautiful coastline down the shore from twoleg civilization. The closest town to the clans is a tourist town and some drive over to see the scenery and play in the quieter areas of the beach coast. While I'm not one to specify an area on the map, the best location I could find describing this territory idea would be Broome, Australia:
 I want leaders to have creative freedom over their clans and choose names, concepts, characteristics, etc. But the general 3 clan idea was as such:- Clan by the Water. This clan lives along the shoreline and would have the most contact with the water. They'd likely be the swimmers and be the most likely to encounter the uncommon twoleg on the beach.
- Clan in the Crags. This clan lives on the rocks and also borders some of the sea water. I'd imagine they're good climbers as they'd have to scale rocks, and maybe are more resistant to heat as they have little shade in the intense summer heats
- Clan in the Plains. This clan lives in the tall grass on the top of the crags. They're the only clan that doesn't border the sea water, rather they border the Clan by the Water through their mutual portions of the crags
You may notice the climate looks rather tropical, but that's not exactly the case. The picture is just an example of the terrain. The actual climate is very hot in the summers, with heat stroke not being uncommon in bad conditions. Winters are crisp, windy, and even stormy. It's often cloudy with little sunlight, and there's the occasional bit of snowfall even, though never anything crazy like a blizzard. Prey is still tough to hunt during these times as creatures hibernate or retreat to warmer areas.
There isn't any fauna or palm trees of sorts, rather just a warm scenery with little actual tree cover.
Where is this going? I know there are many seashore or ocean clan roleplays. My hopes for this clan is to differentiate them and while they are all "clans" with a leader, deputy, and medicine cat (up to change) they each have different ceremonies, beliefs, and values that actually create a reason for them to clash. For example, one may be more in tune with StarClan and their religion, while another may be more reserved and curious about other pursuits. One may have a ceremony where kittens are dunked in the sea waters as a blessing, while another may chant over the kitten with a prayer.
I have some minor plot ideas, including
- A mysterious illness sweeping through a single clan that makes the other two clans refuse to attend gatherings for fear of getting sick, but the truth may not be what it seems.
- A medicine cat apprentice begins faking signs from StarClan in order to usurp their mentor as the head medicine cat within the clan
- A prophecy is made public by one of the medicine cats that reveals an orphaned kit is destined for greatness, but now all three clans begin to fight over the kit in some capacity.
I'm open to all ideas and interactions. The post below this will be for keeping all information together. If you wish to claim a clan or reserve a spot, just post below. I hope this clan to be fairly active, meaning being on at least 2-3 times a week, maybe more for leaders, deputies, medicine cats, and characters who wish to be in major plots.

As a mysterious illness circulates through BristleClan, the other two clans become anxious when the kit's parents die from sickness. Fearing the kit will succumb to the same fate as their parents, ScorchClan and CLAN seem intent on taking the kit from their home and doing what they believe is right. - Quailbreeze - BristleClan Medicine Cat
- Aquakit - Special Kit (BristleClan)
Customs and CeremoniesCoastClan
- When a kit is born, they are dipped in the ocean's water as a blessing a promise to raise the kit under the loving envelopment of StarClan's watchful eye.
- When an apprentice is made at the age of 6 moons, their head is marked with a small amount of sea foam.
- Before becoming official mates, two cats must spend a moon apart. Though they live in the same clan, they may not speak nor acknowledge each other, basically acting as if they were strangers. Just as water comes in phases and tides, a relationship that will last a lifetime will face ups and downs. Will you still love this cat a moon, a season, a year from now? While many think this will be easy, many mates have fallen apart and given up.
- When a cat dies, they place the body into the ocean to be taken by the tide, therefore becoming one with the waves of StarClan.
- These cats are strong swimmers and usually have plentiful prey due to their access to the ocean, fish, and crabs.
ScorchClan- When a kit is born, it is considered a big deal when the parents give them their first dust bath. First time parents have assistance from experienced parents and elders to ensure the kit is coated yet doesn't inhale any of the dust and injure their developing lungs.
- Mates and kits are very important and are celebrated in ScorchClan. It is custom for each cat to receive their mate's familiy's blessing. If the blessing is not granted, yet the two cats still become mates, their kits are said to be cursed with misfortune.
- ScorchClan is the only clan to have ceremonies for mates. After the blessing is received, the two cats are decorated with dust and flowers and are cheered for my their clanmates, who ask StarClan to bless them with eternal happiness.
BristleClan- Apprentice assessments focus on knowledge and retention rather than simple pure skill. Placing an apprentice in an unexpected situation is common to see how they'd use their skills.
- For the first half a moon-ish after a queen gives birth, she, her mate, the new litter, and any previous litters of kits get to go live on their own in a small den they make for themselves. They get to be together without interruption from the Clan, but hunting is left to only the mate and any older litters
RelationsReligion wise, while all three clans worship a general "StarClan" and it's all the same in reality, each clan is certain that a specific element is more closely associated with StarClan. The water clan is convinced the ocean and water reflects StarClan's purity and calm serenity, as well as wisdom. The crag clan believes that fire and warmth reflects StarClan because they are powerful yet loving. Finally the plains clan believes that the earth reflects StarClan because it is grounded and always at their feet, just as StarClan is always at their side. In reality StarClan is all of these things and more, so while all clans do worship something true, they all are also missing a part of what truly makes StarClan. The prophecy could be worked out more further but there could already be tension over survival. Maybe there had been a recent battle or it's during the colder seasons so prey is scarcer.

I think I misunderstood your meaning of advanced. I more so just mean proper grammar and encouraging being involved to keep the plot moving. It doesn't have to be detailed for the sake of detail. Hope that makes more sense :>

I just don't want one sentence responses, and just having literate grammar. I think back to my old forum days where that was more abundant XD You can definitely have the Clan in the Crags! I've started working on a map of sorts with ideas of territory landmarks. One idea I had was a tall rock against the crag side on the border of the plains and crag clans. It could get really nice sunlight but have room for shade so it's a popular spot to lay around in. The plains and crag clan sometimes fight over it because of how nice it is, so it's like sunningrocks basically XD |

I was also thinking of making a gallery with pictures of every character. Drawing is my forte so bringing the characters to life through art would be a great way to encourage roleplay as well as draw attention to the group itself

Yes I'd be up for that! Depending on if the others continue to show interest in this thread, the other clans may open up. I'm currently eyeing the Water Clan to run. I'm thinking I'd like to allow Medicine Cats to choose their apprentices as well to add some realism and stakes to the roleplay

Her large amber eyes are slightly almond shaped. Her legs are long in proportion to a graceful body, with medium oval paws, her tail is also long and slightly fluffy. Foxleap is a polite and caring cat, yet can be stern with the cats she treats. She is charming and cunning, which has made her an excellent medicine cat. She was never a good fighter or hunter, she knew from a young age what her duty was, and she works hard to keep her clan healthy.
The other idea was to try a more detailed and divided layout like this one. I'm not very good with the new html layout people are able to create, but if someone is able to make one the I'd consider using it.

I like the first one as well. It's concise, really beautiful but doesn't look off-putting at all! I'm a little biased just because small text with a lot of words is hard for me to read. |
