(did not forget so much as... was lazy lol. and Protractor i'm sure we could fit you in as long as you're ok bopping in during the middle of this battle between supernaturally strong opponents) Chuuya's grin, almost sadistic, fell from his face as the tendril of energy wrapped around him. His ability was powerless to stop the tendril itself, but he could at least lessen the grip that gravity had on Avocato, so that when they fell together, it might be less immediately dangerous. The earth gave way to an almost craterlike hole around them, some 5 yards wide and a couple stories deep. He could break his fall by slowing his descent, but he couldn't stop it completely. Chuuya landed in a crouch, hands flexing, still in his pockets. I'm not in bad enough shape to use them yet. Though they were in tight quarters, he did what he could to rear back for another kick. And he was angrier, now. "Get the hell out of this cat bastard-!" he spat.

Avocato smiled in sick satisfaction as he felt the gravity around him lessen. As his descent stopped, he pushed himself to his feet, his twisted grin widening even more at Chuuya's words. As Chuuya reared back for another kick, Avocato saw an opportunity. He lunged forward, positioning himself to dodge the kick relatively easily. "You're best still wasn't enough." Avocato growled. "You're pathetic."
(Oooo it's getting good now.)

(Sure. I can bring her in. You could also bring in your other character if you want too. Her ability will essentially "kill" the portion of Invictus inside of Avocato, so we'll need some new plot developments after this. Also, Chuuya poisoned by Invictus would be the most overpowered thing I could possibly think of except for maybe a rider from the inheritance cycle.)
"Where do you think you're going?" Avocato cried as he leapt upwards towards Chuuya, grabbing his legs. The force of his jump was strong enough to carry him over the edge of the crater and knock Chuuya off-course.
Ash blinked and looked around at her unfamiliar surroundings. She was surrounded by trees and a gloomy drizzle soaked her hair. She looked around for anyone else, her brother perhaps, but saw no one. Just then, a large tremor shook the ground, unbalancing her. Her hair began to raise and a purplish glow emanated from her as she began to levitate a couple feet off the ground. She turned at the sound of fighting to her right. As she floated towards the sound, she spotted a vaguely familiar face fighting a humanoid she didn't recognize. After a moment, she also noticed Little Cato, who anxiously watched the battle, as well as another person she didn't know. She moved towards the two spectators until little Cato turned and saw her. "Ash?" He called out surprised. "What is going on?" She questioned, confusion plain on her face as she glanced over at Avocato and Chuuya brawling. "I've got no clue where we are, but we could really use your help right now. My dad's still possessed by Invictus and the other guy's trying to draw Invictus out, but it's close, and I'm not sure he'll be able to do it on his own."
(A couple things I want to mention: Ash only has one eye, but the other side of her face is covered up by her hair, and she's extremely O.P. because the things that they fight in the show are lovecraft-esque God/demon things and compared to them, she's nothing.)

(alright, so -- i can't remember, did we say for sure if Chuuya would be possessed/poisoned by Invictus? My idea is basically...maybe at whatever time Invictus makes its final move to try and seriously attack/possess him, Chuuya's corrupted berserker ability kind of comes out as sort of a fight or flight response. like, the literal deity/entity that gives him his power is so disgusted and terrified by this other entity that it forces Chuuya to just go wild, basically. Normally in the series he has control over it, but I like this idea. Maybe even then, Invictus gives him a run for his money, though they're more evenly matched now. in a convenient stroke of luck, maybe that's when Chuuya's old partner Dazai could appear -- he sees Chuuya using Corruption and he sees Little Cato with Bolin Jr. and Ash and basically, after assessing the situation, confirms to them that they need to shut Invictus down if they have any way to do that, so he can go neutralize Chuuya's ability safely. Does that all make sense...? I wanted to clarify before moving forward.)

(I thought we agreed on having Chuuya possessed but I could be mistaken. I get where you're going with all that and I'm fine with it. Also, since this is before the season 2 finale, Ash doesn't know that she can rip Invictus out of people and in the finale she only found out after she got super worked up because a character sacrificed them self to save everyone else, and she remembered a conversation with said person involving her powers. She's gonna have to have a very emotional moment in order for her to discover that she has said ability. Ash's powers have yet to have a real definitive outline, but so far she's been shown to be able to levitate herself as well as other people and things, shoot fireball-like projectiles, absorb certain types of energy and use them to strengthen her own abilities (they reversed the drop drive of their ship, which she then harnessed the power of to shatter a solid shard of time and save Little Cato.) use dimensional keys to unlock other dimensions, and cleanse people of invictus's influence. she might have more abilities, but when she gets going, there isn't much that can stop her. Her issue is that she has to get emotional to use her powers fully. in her words, she has to be sparked.)

(that works for me, i just couldn’t remember aha. as far as an emotional experience, it could just be the pressure and anxiety that comes from this intense situation happening. Maybe if Chuuya used his corrupted form too, while being possessed/poisoned, it would up everyone’s sense of danger, and in the panic, she’s sort of just trying whatever, and she’s able to kick invictus out? I can write up a reply when i get to my laptop later)

(I gotcha. It could be that Little Cato is about to be killed and she freaks out. It's shown that the only two living characters she really has much feelings for are her adopted brother, whose name is Fox, and Little Cato. She's sorta just acquaintances with everyone else because she's pretty emotionally guarded. Her backstory gets into more detail as to why.)

(alright, maybe invictus has poisoned chuuya, then chuuya goes after little cato? during that exchange i assume you would be controlling what invictus does, so that could be a good time for me to bring my other guy in so i've got something to do, lol.)
The force knocked the wind out of Chuuya, and he was barely able to channel his Ability to soften his fall in time. Instead his hands flew from his pockets to brace himself, as he fell to the earth, enough of it crumbling beneath him that he wasn't too hurt. He'd shown his hands now, covered in thin black gloves. It meant things were serious; unlike most of his opponents, he was up against someone giving him a real challenge, and the fight wasn't just for a thrill.
He kicked at the poisoned Avocato to escape what remained of his grasp as he scrambled to his feet, hands balled in fists at his sides. "Let's try that again," he spat, eyes narrowed. He rushed Invictus again, planning another strong kick to the jaw while using his fists as decoys. The red glow around him hadn't faded, and with each step he manipulated gravity to increase his inertia.

(Just so you can kind of get a picture of how overpowered Invictus can make people. Also, I figured you'd still control Chuuya, considering you know the character and his abilities better. Invictus doesn't really take "control," but more so twists their mind and tricking them into doing something by forcing them to dwell on insecurities, like Avocato being a bad father. I'll post a reply in a bit when I am on my computer. As for your other character, go ahead. I'm all for it.)

Avocato landed on all fours, which made it easy for him to regain a fighting stance. He eyed Chuuya intently, like he had been waiting for something. "Let's." Avocato replied tauntingly to Chuuya's remark. The ventrexian gracefully weaved around Chuuya's kick, putting himself in a very advantageous position. "How about we finish this?" Avocato lunged for Chuuya while he was exposed and took him to the ground. Suddenly, something in Avocato changed. He spoke, but the voice was not his own. "Your vessel is stronger than this one." A purple glow began to emanate from Avocato. "I'll take yours instead." The purple glow turned into a blinding stream of purple energy that flowed from Avocato to Chuuya. Once the energy was cut off from Avocato, he was flung back, landing on his side.
"Dad!" Little Cato shouted, starting towards him.

For just a second, after being pushed to the ground with entirely too much force, Chuuya’s eyes widened. The crimson glow of his own ability was pulsing in a battle with this entity, free of its former Ventrexian vessel. He writhed on the ground, unable to push Invictus away completely.. I’m already a vessel for one damn entity of destruction-- he thought, gritting his teeth as he felt the influence of Invictus spread through him. He was strong enough to keep hold of his mind and his body, at least. That’s right, Chuuya. You’re not really human anyway, are you?-- Some fifty yards away, Osamu Dazai opened his eyes to the cloudy sky above him. He sensed quickly he was nowhere near the Agency, nowhere even in his city. He wondered almost wistfully if he’d finally died, but he couldn’t imagine waking up in the afterlife with a headache. And there was a sound of commotion within earshot: another clue. Ah. Better get moving, he thought. Or there might be trouble.
He rolled to his side, resting for just a moment and surveying what he could see of the scene from his vantage point on the ground. There was a group of figures to one side, and someone else, crouched near the ground. The swirling red and purple glow around that figure must be a mirage or something, he thought, as he rubbed his eyes, but the light didn’t disappear. -- Chuuya got to his hands and knees, his body still tense. He gripped the ground tightly, solid earth becoming powder in his hands due to his ability. “That doesn’t matter. I do what I need to do,” he said aloud. I’ll die before I let something like you use these powers of mine. Arahabaki stirred with vigor inside him. A mindless deity of chaos, it didn’t call him by name or even speak to him like Invictus could. He had to resist it, or he really would die. Chuuya cursed, eyes scanning his surroundings, almost like a wild animal, before watching his former opponent and his allies. He had to neutralize Invictus for good, somehow. But it was so, so hard to think when his mind wasn’t just his own. He was Chuuya Nakahara and Arahabaki; or maybe, Arahabaki was part of him, or he was part of it. And Invictus’s poison seeped into the cracks between Chuuya the mafia executive and Arahabaki the god of calamity, and he was breathing heavily as strategizing became harder and harder. -- With a sigh, Dazai got to his feet and strolled closer, blinking every now and then with the thought he might still be dreaming, or hallucinating. He was making his way toward the group and giving the lone stranger a wide berth. When he got close enough to see clearly, though, he stopped and slowly turned his head.
He spotted the hat first. And the coat, and the hair. Dazai took a tired deep breath. That settles it then, he thought. It’s definitely not heaven if you’re here, Chuuya. and ik you said i could mostly play invictus , though if you have any ideas for what it would do please let me know. im trying to align them differently to differentiate them because to me the flow works better alternating pov than describing one pov and sort of going back in time to describe the thing from the other person's perspective. so... i'm trying this out lol. i hope you enjoy this, im already having too much fun writing it)

(sorry. I am officially a horrible person. I was gonna respond but then I got caught up doing doing something, and then I had a football game I was playing in. I will be on a lot more in two weeks, though when our season ends.)
A shout snapped Avocato back into consciousness. The ventrexian looked around wildly, trying to figure out where he was and what was going on. His mind was hazy, as if he had just awoken from a dream that he couldn't quite recall. The person in front of him was obviously having some sort of issue, but in his confused state, he dismissed them, even though something in the back of his mind told him something was wrong. The last thing he remembered was... "Little Cato!" He called, dread filling him as he pushed himself to his feet. A sense of relief washed over him however, as he spotted his son running towards him.
A huge grin spread across Little Cato's face as he raced towards his father. Avocato couldn't help but smile too as he opened his arms to embrace his son. Little Cato collided with his dad, almost knocking him over.
"I'm glad you're alright." Avocato said quietly, hugging his son.
Little Cato squeezed his dad even harder. "I thought I'd lost you again." The younger ventrexian admitted. Looking behind his dad, Little Cato spotted Chuuya, still struggling with Invictus mentally. He released Avocato and pointed. "We have a problem."
Avocato turned to face Chuuya. "What's wrong with him?" He asked Little Cato, taking a step back.
"It's invictus." He replied. "It poisoned your mind, and now it's doing the same to him. We need to do something."

(btw when anything involves endangering Little Cato, Avocato is no-nonsense and wouldn't think twice about killing someone to save him. He was okay with letting the earth be destroyed and billions of people die if it meant freeing his son from the Lord Commander (The main bad guy in season 1.) He was the lord commander's second in command and didn't have a problem with the stuff he did for him (which included overseeing a genocide) and only turned on him when he was ordered to kill his son as a display of loyalty. He is honestly the world's best dad, but to anyone other than Little Cato, he's scary af)

(it's more the fact that I said that I would respond and then I didn't that makes me feel like a jerk. I try to be man of my word and I feel bad when I tell someone I'm going to do something and then don't. As far as Avocato goes, yeah, he is honestly the type of father I want to be if I ever have kids, minus the overseeing a genocide part. When he's in less stressful situations he's also funny. At one point he got shrunk for a little bit so he kept on saying a bunch of philosophical stuff for no reason like "what I lack in size, I make up for I'm wisdom" and "A job worth doing is worth doing together." He's honestly my favorite character because I see a lot of myself in his character.)

Things weren’t looking good for that man. The way Chuuya seemed to be fighting himself -- even in their years together as a team in the Port Mafia, Dazai hadn’t seen Chuuya’s Ability do this. Something else must be at work, the detective thought. Hands in his pockets, he made his way almost leisurely towards the group to the side of all the damage Chuuya’s gravity manipulation had seemed to have done to the earth.
He really did hate Chuuya. He’d watch him die here, and mourn only the lack of dinner to go with the show. But whatever was wrong with Chuuya, Dazai knew the other’s capability for utter destruction. And the crowd of strangers he approached, seemingly innocent bystanders, would become collateral damage. And even that might not bug him much, if it weren’t for the words of an old friend humming in his head: Be on the side that saves people. If both sides are the same to you, become a good man.
With a huff, he kicked a rock with his feet, now in clear earshot of those strangers. He continued his approach, looking them over. A couple fairly normal-looking people, aside from maybe their clothes, and -- two cat-people. Well. The details of that weren’t as important right now.
“Hey, hey. Sorry. Guess I missed most of the debriefing. What’s going on with the little shrimp out there?” -- Chuuya’s teeth were gritted, as he was locked in battle in his own mind with Invictus. Chuuya, it said. That thing already inside you only wants to destroy. Isn’t Arahabaki’s willpower stronger even than yours? He punched the ground, heavy glowing fist easily pulverizing the dirt and rock beneath it. “It could destroy you too,” he said, straining to speak. He summoned the will to get to his feet, however slumped his posture was. Chuuya surveyed the surroundings, seeing first the group of others. Someone seemingly new had appeared. Even through the fight that raged in him, he could squint and get a closer look at them. When finally he saw him, and recognized him, Chuuya’s eyes went wide with an almost feral rage, and he staggered, nearly falling. Invictus would take Chuuya’s moment of surprise and try to further poison him. His ability's aura, still mixing with that of Invictus, shone ever-more menacingly. -- "Whoops." Dazai blinked. "Looks like he saw me. We might not have much time." --
(it's ok, i understand life still happens! and avocato sounds like a great character. i really like chuuya and dazai both, but... not necessarily because i want to be like them, aha. though there are a few characters in bungou stray dogs i find relatable in that way)

Avocato looked to the side, where Dazai had strolled up from. "Who in the hell are y-" He was cut off as Chuuya struck the ground. Avocato took a step back, steadying himself. He placed an arm in front of Little Cato, shielding him just in case something else happened. The aura around Chuuya grew stronger, more prominent. Avocato was just about to tell Little Cato to back up when he heard Dazai's comment. "Wait. Do you know him?" Avocato questioned.
(sorry for the shorter reply. I was having a difficult time figuring out what else to do while Chuuya's playing tug of war with invictus)

Dazai clucked his tongue. “I do, I suppose. Unfortunately. Looks like you’ve all seen what his Ability can do, when he’s in full control of it.” He cocked his head towards the battlefield, torn apart with crevices and holes in the earth. Initially seeming nonchalant, his expression darkened a bit. “He’s probably about to get even more dangerous. I can stop him, normally, but I’ve never seen him like this. You all know what’s wrong with him more than I do, don’t you?”

(ah gotcha. Sounds good.)
Little Cato piped up. "It's an entity called Invictus. It takes over minds and forces people to do things they wouldn't normally do, as well as making them stronger, faster, and giving them weird abilities."
Avocato studied Dazai up and down while little Cato spoke. "We may be able to kill him if we can prevent him from using his normal abilities, but I don't think me or my son can do anything with him like that." He ripped his head in Chuuya's direction.

“Invictus. Scary name,” he hummed. “Strong, fast, with strange abilities… well, he’s already like that.” Dazai brought a thinking hand to his lips. “No wonder it chose him, hm?” He narrowed his eyes at Chuuya on the battlefield, then stepped forward. “Do you all think a god could beat Invictus?” he asked, looking back at them before staring the other man down.
“Hiiiii, Chuuya!” he called out, waving as he approached. “These guys tell me you’re in bad shape. But I bet you know how to win. And-- maybe your prince will save you before things get too bad, huh?” -- Chuuya’s willpower faltered again, his eyes glowing a bright purple as Invictus seized the opportunity. He got to his feet, a grin on his face, and his voice was twisted when he spoke. “Chuuya isn’t here…” But his body twitched as the man still fought him, and he appeared surprised. “What?” He tore off his gloves with his teeth. “Grantors of Dark Disgrace--” Chuuya managed to say, clinging to control his own body. He had no choice but to hand the reins to Arahabaki. “You… Need Not Wake Me Again!” -- “Ooh.” Dazai leapt back, creating more space between the two of them. “He’s getting serious. You all said you could kill Invictus, right? I don’t know how that thing works, but Chuuya might do half the work for you.” -- Crimson markings slithered along his arms and swirled up onto his face. Chuuya’s eyes went wide and, feeling as if he’d assured his victory against Invictus, he laughed a wild laugh into the sky. A ball of pure black and red gravitational energy, like a tiny black hole, grew in his hand, and he threw it to the ground where it exploded, sending off a cloud of dust and smoke.
