Mercurius studied the monster, a cross between some bird and a Postiguarf. The quadruped looked at them, saying "We were pointed over here if we wanted to see about being recruited."
Fatid walked beside Criss as they all followed Remiel through the crowd. When they reached where they were going, Remiel noticed him picking up an apple from a stall. He was gigantic, probably over nine feet tall, with huge dark wings that were some weird combo between firm and fluffy, and wearing dark purple robes with golden rim and swirls. However, his face wasn't viewable, the shadow his hood cast unnaturally dark. Like, pitch-black.

“Yes.” Necromancer said, “I’m looking for monsters to be in my court. Especially after the threats from Regnarok.” He said. “Sit.”
“Woah.” Cally said quietly, having to look almost all the way up to be able to see his face. Criss gave her an amused look, seeing now how short she was.

The canine simply sat on the floor, of course not being able to sit on a stool. "I'm not the biggest guy, but I can still help. I know things."
Remiel smiled sheepishly before walking up to Samael, bowing to him out of respect. The larger of the two looked down at him before stating "You had three others with you, and allowed them to avoid me." His voice gentle, inviting, but the softness was literally the most unsettling thing ever.

Necromancer raised an eyebrow, “I see. Well, show us some of you knowledge.” He said simply.
Cally stayed close to Fatid and Criss. She bit her lip when he spoke of her family. She wanted to explain why, because Colby wasn’t old enough quite yet to fully understand Samael. He would just be rude and cranky since he was so overtired. And her father would be a different story. But Cally held her tongue.

The canine shrugged a little. "Well, I know where some outposts are for the other side. I travel a lot, so I've seen them. I don't know if they're important ones or not."
Remiel shrugged a little, saying "They were eager to have a look around, and were not... aware of your status." Samael just looked down at the ginger angel, saying "Your human genes have given you the unfortunate glitch of lying." Looking toward the others, he was probably studying, though his face was completely hidden by the pitch-black shadow of his hood.

Necromancer nodded a little before looking to Mercurius, what do you think? He asked telepathically. (I just wanted to add this power in. Even if he doesn’t have it in the game. It allows for some easier convo. Is that okay?)
Cally bit her lip, looking to Remiel for a moment with a worried look. She then bowed as well, not looking up at him as she said, “forgive, me. But it’s my fault, your grace. It’s my family. If you’d like I will fetch them for you.” She spoke up, but her voice was unsure, as she didn’t know if she was over stepping her bounds.

(That's fine :3)
Mercurius kept a conversation with the wolf as he responded. Well, he is a Darkness monster. You're less inclined to lie to your own people. We should get more monsters before heading out though.
Remiel watched warily as Samael studied Cally. For a moment, the large angel was quiet. He then said "No. Your father already annoys me, and I have not even seen or met him in person. I will see them when my brother meets you."

So... How do we even accept him? Its unprofessional just to say he is in, no? Necromancer asked.
Cally nodded, not saying anything more. Criss sighed silently, why was this human and her family so... on their own page?

Mercurius hummed softly. No, you should see about a way to test their eligibility. Maybe speak to another Warmaster? Doesn't the Queen have a court of her own? Like, an official one?
Remiel looked a little uneasy as Samael looked down at Cally still, saying after a moment "Families like you make me question my brother, but I am not allowed to do anything to anyone here, unfortunately."

Alright... He said, he then focused. Eventually he felt a connection to Thalassa saying, Thalassa?
Cally looked down in shame. She still didnt say anything still. She felt upset and very intimidated, even just by his presence, but she wouldnt show it any more than this.

It took a moment as Mercurius kept up conversation. Thalassa responded to Necro simply. Yes, what is it?
Samael then turned to leave, walking toward where Layth's tent was. Remiel sighed before turning to Cally, saying "I'm sorry about that. Come on, want to get back to your family? Maybe we can all go out like we planned? Or should we call it an early night?"

I need help. How in the world do you recruit people formally? But in an informal setting? Necromancer asked, furrowing his brow ever so slightly.

Well, it depends on what you feel, I suppose. Never do it at random. It also depends on what you plan on recruiting this person for specifically and see how you can test them.

Necromancer sighed softly as they kept the conversation up. Well they say they know things about the other side. Mercurius says for that they could be valuable.

Thalassa tsked gently. And foxes are known for being amongst the best liars and tricksters. If this monster says he knows things, have him bring you somewhere you know of at least, where you know the land somewhat. That meant less chance of an ambush.

Necromancer raised an eyebrow saying, I see. Alright, I’ll hold off for now then and ask for them to do so for me later today. The sooner the better. he said, unless that would be unwise as well?

(I replied to the other interaction a ways back :3)
The sooner the better, yes. You should make sure everyone you recruit is loyal as soon as possible. Keeping them around without doing so was risky, but she assumed him to be smart enough to know that.

Necromancer thanked Thalassa before saying to the monster, “I’m sorry, but before I even think about recruiting you I will have to test you loyalty. And your knowledge.” He said simply, “do you still wish to try your luck?” He asked, studying him carefully.
Cally put a smile on saying, “it’s fine. I think I just want to get to bed if that’s alright too. Its been a long day.” She then looked over as Criss said, “we’ll, I think I’m going to have a look around town before turning in. Would anyone like to join me?”

The canine shrugged, saying "I had assumed as such. What do I need to do?" He assumed it would be something difficult maybe, or showing them some place reputable? He looked up at them, and Mercurius looked over at Necro with a raised brow.
Fatid nodded a little, saying that he would join her. Remiel agreed as well saying "I can show you all around some more if you'd like. Plenty of places to see, but I'll just show you a few for now in case you want to call it an early night."

Necromancer nodded a little, “you are to guide us to one of the posts I know of and you will tell us the the knowledge you say you have of the land.” He explained. This way he’d know if anything went astray.
Criss nodded, “alright. Lead the way.” She said softly. Once Remiel took the lead she said, “it sure is very nice for a hideout.”

The canine nodded once, saying "Ah, of course. If you know of any places specifically, we'll see if I know it and we can check it out."
Remiel nodded as he led the way. "Yes, it is very nice. There's barriers keeping it safe from attacks and certain monsters. The place is always on alert though." He went to where the marketplace was, showing them to busy setting despite it being nighttime.

“I won’t let you know until the time comes.” Necromancer said, “but I will have a few places in mind.” He wasn’t about to give the monster time to relay any information.
Criss nodded as he explained the barriers. She then looked around as they walked through the market, seeing a few things she would like to get when she had more resources to trade with and the luck.

The dog nodded. "I see. Well, I'll be over there then, as I see some others are interested in talking as well." He turned to go and give them some space.
Fatid looked over at Cally. "If you see anything you actually want, remember that I have those Griffex feathers you earned." He still had every one in that chamber he had hidden beneath the writhing worms on his back. "Though it would be shopkeepers here trying to amount to you rather than you begging for anything." He then looked as Remiel said "Once you start traveling though, you'll come across things worth those feathers though."

Necromancer nodded as he spoke. He then dismissed him gently before looking back to Mercurius, “one that could be down.. still a dozen to go.” He said.
Calmly nodded, “I thank ill save them for now.” She decided, “I’ll wait until something worthy of the payment comes along.”

Mercurius shrugged a little, saying "For all we know, he might not be a fit. You'll find some people who are though, surely." He watched as the next one eventually walked up, ears twitching as he studied them.
Remiel nodded, saying "Just make sure no one tricks you or anything. They'll assume you don't know the worth, and you cal pick out those scammers pretty quick."

Necromancer nodded slightly before looking to the next monster, telling them to have a seat. He then looked to them expectantly.
“Don’t worry. I know to be smart with my materials. I’ve had much experience with people thinking they can rip me off.” Cally said simply, “I know better than to give up my savings at the first shiny thing I see.”

The next one was a female Rorcal (basically striped orca with arms and legs xD). She sat on one of the stools, her thick tail waving a little as she said "Um, I was told you're recruiting people. I can fight, and I know a few spells."
Remiel smiled a little. "I'd assumed you're not one to get swindled." He then looked as they reached an area where training and sparring went on. There were some monsters practicing, and Remiel said "People come here to either watch or practice. It's like the arena in Crystalline, but not as big or grand obviously."

Necromancer nodded, having some knowledge of the species in general. He looked to the monster saying, “tell us some of your abilities. Convince us you deserve a spot.” He looked to Mercurius, maybe we should have a day where everyone who claims to be muscle faces off against one another. Then we’ll see who would really be a good fit.
Cally looked to the arena, moving away from the group a little to get a better view. Criss went to join her as well.

The Rorcal said "I can manipulate water, and I know the spell Nightmare." Mercurius then said "You're a runt though. Like, runt of the runts." Rorcals were close to twenty feet tall fully grown. This one, fully grown, was no taller than five feet. The Rorcal huffed, saying "I can still help!"
Remiel and Fatid went to watch as well, a Firesaur fighting a Metalsaur. The two were wrestling around, the Metalsaur blocking most of the flames with his mild hide.

Necromancer thought for a moment, glancing to Mercurius. He then said, “alright. We’ll give you a chance. But you have to pull your weight and your team’s weight. Even if you have some disadvantages. If you let me down once you’re done.” He said calmly, yet firmly.
Cally on to the battle, “do they ever hold competitions here?” She asked, “for only those who are already living in the sanctuary of course.” She made sure to add.
