“If you listened you would have heard me say that we don’t have him!” Roman snapped, “we are only currently holding humans in our jail cells, and your precious Guide isn’t even near our land. His whereabouts are classified information only the other guides know of.” He said, “so don’t wage a pointless war.”

The creatures laughed. "Pointless? Ha! We know you had something to do with his disappearance, stupid human, conspiring with our king's enemies. So, therefore we know you are keeping him somewhere. Or your sorry excuse for Guides are. You are responsible for his disappearance, so you will be responsible for his return. Three moons, little king." The group turned to leave, not even looking back. Nim just studied them as they left, an ear twitching.

((Meanwhile Roman actually had no clue what was going on. He just gave the guides rooms and added more security to his artifact
Roman growled, “I did nothing of the sort! I don’t know anything other than that it was happening. I only provided hospitality and protection. My lady and I weren’t even in the castle when this all happened.” It was true. Dakota, Uma, and Nim dealt with him on their own, just inside his territory, but that by now means made his people be at fault.

(Yeah XD No one did besides the Guides but the creatures don't exactly care, so oop x3 To them it's basically where if you were relatively in the area, you're guilty)
There was no response in return, the group eventually disappearing from view. Nim just stared for a moment before turning to look at the others. "War was inevitable whether what happened was on these grounds or not. Those creatures have been waiting to set foot on these lands for quite some time, spending their lifetime being trained for it and being indoctrinated by their king."

Roman growled to the two guides, “this is on your shoulders! So help me fix it before my people pay for your problems!” He looked enraged, feeling like he failed as a king, “I was taught that you helped us create peace, but now I see how amazing of a lie that was.”

Nim tilted his head. "Our problems." He got up from his sitting position. "Peace." He looked around at them all. "You would not be here if we didn't care for you. Show you how to do anything. Make you the artifacts that kept all hells away from you." His whiskers twitched. "We owe you nothing, and are not obligated to do anything regarding you. Every moment of your existence is because we pity what creatures we made. So. Do well to remember your place. Especially before you say such ignorant and inaccurate things."

Roman opened his mouth to protest, but wisely decided against it. He suppressed all the things he wanted to say and gave a small bow, “you’re right. I am very sorry you’re greatnesses.” He said. He then turned, giving Alma a look of mixed emotions before proceeding to make his way back to the castle with the guard.

Nim simply disappeared, off to wherever. Well, his library most likely. Alma walked with Roman, saying softly "We'll be fine. Maybe we can negotiate with those creatures or something. The fact that they came to talk might mean something?"

Roman kept his gaze ahead, his eyes narrowed a little, “you heard the guides. War is inevitable.” He said simply, “they came to talk but they wouldn’t listen.” And he hated that.

Alma frowned a little. "Well, they underestimate us. I doubt any of our people will just turn their bellies upward and go down easy. We'll hold out." For how long though, she wasn't sure.

“That’s not the problem. We’re small. We could be wiped out easily. And it would be my fault.” Roman said softly as they walked, his fists clenching a little.

Alma tsked. "It would not. Don't blame yourself like that, especially before anything's happened." Truth was, she was worried about the idea of war with all those evil beings. "We'll just have to up our alertness and defenses as well as get the word out to other settlements."

“I know, and we will have to speed up our training for the new recruits.” He then huffed, “this kingdom and it’s people are my responsibility as king... if they get destroyed it’s my shoulders as their leader.”

Alma frowned a little. "Just... try not to be so hard on yourself through this. You have tons of people willing to help you through this, and everyone will be ready to fight and protect their home."

Roman sighed, “I know they will. And I know they will all do a tremendous job.” He said softly, looking prideful now. “We must alert the other houses when we return. Then I will tell my parents the news as well..”

Alma nodded. "I'll have some guards go out to the commons and warn the people, though I doubt by now there is already some suspicion." People would probably come to the royals asking what to do.

Roman nodded, “yes, that would be great.” Roman said before parting ways with her to alert the group about what just happened.

Alma went her own way to alert a small group of guards and give them their task. Things were about to get a lot more busy.

Roman went to the table where the others were, going to take his seat once more. He sighed saying, "it is as we expected. those creatures were looking to start a war. They weren't open for discussion either."

The bears huffed. "We should find them and attack them now! Put an end to this before it even starts!" A centaur then said "We don't even know what's out there!"

Roman sighed, thinking a brief moment before saying, “I agree, we don’t know what we’re facing. For all we know they could out number all of us and overpower us easily.” He said, “we shouldn’t go into this battle blind.”

The other houses made suggestions like extra training, maybe traveling farther for help and the like. No one seemed to really know what to do for sure though.

“We should hold off one finding outside help for now. That could lead to much larger problem, and it would then put that city on our radar for years after the battle is finished. We definitely should train more, and make more recruitments for our armies.”

The groups talked amongst themselves for a moment before someone said "We should also be less strict with the boundaries for now, to allow easy travel between us."

"I agree." Roman said with a nod, "I also think that we should take control of the land between anywhere our territories dont touch to allow for safer and more efficient travels."

Someone then said "We should scout the area first, just in case there's danger." Then there was the response of "Who ends up with what lands though? Is this permanent?"

“Well of course we would. And the lands between our territories could be neutral. It can simply just be used for safer travel between our three kingdoms.” Roman explained, “we can discuss the proper distribution of the land, or even if it will hold up at all after this whole ordeal is over.”

The houses nodded amongst each other. "I suppose we must get to work then," Ghorban decided, the bear huffing a little. "There is much to do, and little time for such."

The others there nodded , looking satisfied for now. "We assume you'll be deciding what lands end up being shared?" Probably just spots that were known to be used anyway, though once they'd been combed over it would be safer to travel.
