Dakota laughed, “I can’t imagine why! I’m only cuddling a guide.” He joked, “and of course it also has to be you, one of the more powerful out of us.” He said, “I don’t really mind at all.” He then moved to kiss his nose gently.

Roman smiled fondly, “how did you get so lucky? How did I get so lucky. I mean, you’ve always been way out of my league!” He joked, but it was true.

“Exactly. Ever heard of the saying ‘knowledge is power’?” Dakota asked with a small smile. He laughed a little, “and that makes you way more powerful than me.” He joked, though he did have a lot of knowledge in certain subjects, he just wouldn’t admit it.

Roman scoffed, “like I’d let them make me marry one of those shallow women. I mean, why would I want them when I can have a much finer one such as yourself.” He said with a small seductive growl.

Dakota shrugged, “yes but sometimes being social is a weakness. I’d rather be smart and anti social than clueless and a people person.” He said softly, “you’re the one to be envied, love.”

Roman smirked, “we could always just make our way there now~ the meeting won’t be until tomorrow and I don’t have any duties right now..”

Dakota sighed, “I’d be lying if I said you’re not. I’m sorry, it’s I don’t want to lie. But don’t take it to heart. I mean, I called myself clueless.” He said with a small laugh.


Roman pulled her close, “this isn’t about kids. I just want you.” He growled quietly. He then let her go and went back to holding her hand, “but I’m patient. I’ll wait.”

Dakota shrugged, “you’re probably right. But I’ll visit it more as long as you’re there. And I also did like your reading aloud to me.” He said, “your voice is very soothing.”

“Oh, we will. I will make sure of that. Only when you want though.” Roman stated as he walked along with her again.

Dakota smiled a little before hugging him closely. He paused when he heard more giggling. He sat bolt upright and looked to see that the maids had brought some of their friends to see. They were rather young, teenagers. He huffed and glared at them, making them hurry off.

Roman nodded before leading her towards their room. Upon reaching it he held the door open for her.

Dakota frowned before hiding himself back in Nim, trying to bury his way underneath the other, “I don’t like this judgement. I wish I could just turn into an eagle and show them but that would blow my cover.”

Dakota smiled a little, “and they have every reason to be jealous. I mean, you are practically perfect.” He said. And he was to him.

Dakota smiled, “smooth.” He said. He then looked him up and down before saying, “gods I love you.” He said softly. “How about I take you somewhere tonight. Before anything happens.”

Dakota shrugged, “I’ll take you to where a friend told me was a good spot. I’ve flown over it and it looks very romantic. I’ll take you out to eat before too.”

Dakota nodded, “exactly. If that’s what you want to call it.” Technically they didn’t have to go out on dates now since they already mated, but Dakota wanted to pamper his mate as much as he could.

Dakota laughed at this, “but even if you were to do that I wouldn’t mind. Anywhere is fine by me as long as I’m with you. And besides, your library isn’t too shabby.” He pointed out.

Dakota smiled a little, “alright, sounds good.” He said softly. He then nuzzled into Nim more, “you’re so soft.” He said out of nowhere.

Dakota smiled and wrapped his arms around him, “you’re like a big teddy bear.” He said with a small smile.
