Nim switched into a cat to better fit, fluffy white fur with blue eyes. Walking in after Dakota, he greeted Uma with a small smile.

Uma was still in her nest, still looking slightly discombobulated. She looked to Nim, “where did you end up putting Olgrin?” She asked, her voice still a little raspy. She then shook out her white feathers and smoothed them down.

Nim's whiskers twitched. In a room in my library. The statue will be fine there, for as long as it needs to remain there." He doubted they'd see their former friend any time soon.

Uma nodded slowly, “Good. I’m glad.” She said, “it’s not over until his army is dealt with too.” She pointed out, “but I’m sure you both are already aware of that. What brings you here?”
Dakota shrugged, “just here to make sure you’re okay... and...” he looked to Nim, “Nim and I have made the decision to become mates.”
Uma suddenly fluffed up a little, “what?”

Nim's ears flattened a little in shyness as Dakota informed Uma of the news. When she fluffed up a little, he asked worriedly "Are y-you okay with that...?" Not that her permission was really needed.

Uma nodded a little, “this is just so sudden. And what about your positions as guides? Won’t your relationship get in the way of your duties?” She asked, clearly confused.

Nim shrugged a little. "Yes and no. I'm sure we'll be worried about each other at times, but having been at the job for, well, forever, so we know that there are some thing we have to let happen whether we worry or not."

Uma smoothed down her feathers and regained her composure, “you’re spending too much time with the mortals. Taking in their customs.” She teased, mainly talking to Dakota. Dakota shrugged guiltily, “I cant control my feelings.” He stated simply.

Nim smiled a little at Uma. "You probably wouldn't be saying that if or when you find someone special to you." It was surely possible if someone like Nim could find a mate.

Uma scoffed, “oh yeah? And who could that be? Last time I checked you two knuckle heads are the only guides left. And I won’t just go after any mortal creature. I have standards.” Though if someone swept her off her feet she probably wouldn’t complain then.

Nim blinked slowly. "You shouldn't have such standards that limit you to only three possible individuals." He wasn't necessarily saying lower her standards, but just tweak them to be a little more... expensive? Especially since there was only one possible individual that was eligible now.

“I’m not saying I would only ever want a guide. Especially since there aren’t any options left for me. I just don’t want a peasant.. unless he or she is nice and treats me well, and isn’t a gold digger of any sort..”

Nim shrugged a little. "Olgrin might be freed one day. I know he always had some sort of soft spot for you, even though he was quite callous half the time." He he assumed Uma's little seduction attempt didn't work because given the time in which she tried it was quite obviously not genuine. At least not at the moment.

Uma huffed, “Yeah. I used to think that and feel the same way as well. Now I’m not so sure.” She said. Her trust had been broken completely when he choked her and tried to take her down with him. She didn’t care that she was luring him to a trap. She was just doing what was best for everyone.

Nim stared. "Well, to be fair, you are the one who caused the unsureness. You did bring him to the trap for a good cause, but it was also a blow dealt to whatever you two had. The first blow." It might've sounded mean, but it was indeed true. And Nim doubted any of them would've been their happiest of others were trying to lock them away possibly forever.

Uma growled a little, “that doesn’t mean he gets to choke me! He almost killed me.” She said. Dakota sighed before stepping away from Nim and looked to him, “it may have been the first blow, but what he did was wrong. Not to mention with his past too..”

Nim snorted. "None of this means we get off Scott free for what we did to him. It's essentially like death without the dying part." He understood where Uma was coming from, but she wasn't the only victim.

“We weren’t the ones who encased him in stone now we’re we?” Dakota snapped suddenly. “He betrayed us and endangered the things he swore to protect! He deserves what he got! I don’t feel guilty.” He growled. Uma seemed to agree with him, but didn’t say anything. She did really wish things could be different, but they couldn’t go back now.

Nim's whiskers twitched. "I did that because balance was required. Nothing more, nothing less. This is why we gravitated toward what we are known for. You and Uma probably couldn't even do my job because you two think more with your heart rather than your minds. You two simply wouldn't be able to handle a job of neutrality." He didn't sound angry or intent to insult them, he looked disappointed more than anything.

Dakota let out a huff, but didn’t say anything. He did think with his heart more than his mind, he couldn’t deny that. Uma sighed and looked to the other two, “I feel bad that he’s gone. He was always sweet even though he acted like the opposite towards others. I just wish things didn’t go the way they did.”

Nim sighed. "He could not go unpunished, but I was speaking with Dakota earlier about freeing him one day. After the mortals have dealt with his armies and he sees that they are strong."

“But how will he see if he’s stuck in a statue?” Dakota wondered.
“He’d see that they were able to take down his forces. The question is will that be enough for him to change his mind?” Uma asked, though she knew it probably wouldn’t be that easy.

Nim hummed. "Olgrin is the embodiment of what we all hesitate to do. He introduced the concept of fighting, killing and bloodshed. To show him otherwise, as Uma said, will be no easy task. That does not mean it is impossible, however." Olgrin was the most headstrong and stubborn out of them all.

“So we’d have to take down his army for a start. And get them all under control or in custody. And we need to strengthen each of the houses’ armies, especially Bryghtwood’s.” Dakota thought out loud.

Nim nodded slowly. "We must also remember that this isn't our fight. It never was. We can encourage and, well, guide the mortals, but the majority of this problem must be solved by them."

Uma took a breath before saying, “but if we let them fight this fight on their own they won’t prove themselves to Olgrin..”
“I have faith in the royal families to know what to do with our guidance.” Dakota stated.

Nim smiled gently at Uma. "And if we hold their hand for every big happening, they'll die out soon after we let go." He then nodded to Dakota. "As do I. We of course can settle ourselves on the battlefield and at their council, but the weight of the victory must be held by them. Not us."

Uma nodded, not able to argue with that.
Dakota nodded, “this is why I pose as the prince’s mentor. That way when they become king they can still look to me for help without shutting my guidance down.” He then paused, “but it may also be time to reveal myself to Roman... but only if I really need to.”

Nim yawned, washing his face a little. The cat then said "You could technically go his entire lifetime without revealing yourself, but that it is your choice of course."

“It depends on what happens. If my cover needs to be blown then I will make the decision to do so then.” He said, “but that’s only if really needed. Keeping my cover is still one of the most important things to me.”
