(( Maybe Dru's father could be involved? Not as a part of their murder himself, but maybe he always suspected that someone was planning to kill them out of spite or hatred. He could have tried to help, but was too late to do anything? ))

Eldred could see the incredulous look on the girl’s face when she realised he was a magic user. And her question brought back memories.
He remembered that when he had been caught, he’d been dragged before the king and queen and made to kneel before them while the guards spouted all kinds of rubbish about his magic being dangerous. They asked for the king and queen’s judgement on what to do with him, and the two were far kinder than Eldred had originally expected. He was allowed to stay and serve the kingdom in peace.
”Yes, I carry magical blood,” Eldred responded “and as for why I was allowed to live... well, never underestimate the difficulty of finding a good advisor.”
He’d laid low as well, studying magic but only using his abilities in front of people very minimally. He was very careful to make sure that he didn’t cause any kind of trouble with his magic because he did not want to risk his situation changing.
“I daresay magic is older even than this land, and that is why it is feared. It’s ancient, and incredibly powerful, and difficult for non-users to understand. People are threatened by what they don’t understand.” Eldred said in response to Drusilla’s words
And when she went on to talk about the endless curse, Eldred nodded.
“It is indeed dangerous in the wrong hands, and the evidence before us is testament to this.”
The elderly man turned his attention to Leon now, and he noted that for a moment she seemed genuinely upset to hear about the death of the Valdera prince and his wife. Strange. There was something about this girl, something Eldred couldn’t quite place yet.
“I’ll admit I’m not sure about the guard,” he responded, “but I believe he did receive a just punishment. Whatever happened he was certainly never seen at the palace again.”
When she revealed to him that she had magic, a small smile appeared on his face. Of course this girl was magical.
“I’ll happily go with you,” the man replied
Before he left the room though he looked to Drusilla, who was promising to keep the girl’s secret quiet but warning that it would come to light. That was what scared Eldred more than anything else.
“Thank you, Drusilla.” Eldred said with a nod
And with that, he nodded towards the doorway, indicating that he and Leon should go and speak privately so she could show him the test.

Leon noted that the woman noticed her magic, but with the woman’s words, she was a bit calmer. She still didn’t trust her though. And when Drusilla talked about magic in the world, belonging and then secrets in the open, she glared down at the ground. “I appreciate you feel positive towards magic, but some secrets are better kept, the outlook on magic is what got my parents killed, I feel I have every right to keep that hidden for my own safety.” She added.
She didn’t like being touched, and her reflex was to attack back, she refused to do so, forcing herself to be still, but she was still tense. Regardless, she was happy to have been let go of.
Her gaze focused on Eldred, and she noticed a faint smile on his face. It was interesting, how he was an advisor with magic, and his comment caused a small chuckle, she was calming down rapidly, causing her to relax some.
Then they left to go speak, her gave flickered to the sad prince, she opened her mouth for condolences, but none came and she smacked her jaws closed. She turned to follow Eldred with a nod, turning back to Drusilla, “Thank you,” she mumbled to her, before exiting the room.
(It’s short but we’re going back home today.)

(lol I feel like Zahavi and Zelos are the only ones that don't have a tragic backstory predating this current timeline Also I nominate Atlas's older brother as the murderer/ one of the murderers which spurred some fae creature/ witch to kill his adoptive daughter) (Oh wow that’s interesting, and Drusilla’s father could have tried to stop it. Oh this could get interesting between Leon and Atlas, because they both want to avenge their dead families... dang that fae creature that killed his adoptive daughter though.) |

ANNOUNCEMENT: This is a test of the format and also an announcement of preogression!
EVENT: Queen Reyna and King Christopher has been cursed by Nemean’s Curse by Zander. Eldred, the Royal Advisor, has identified the curse with a hidden witch and thief, Leon , while Drusilla, the healer, has been looking after the cursed royals. Prince Zahavi must make a decision, as he learns that the cure will take a long time and journey to find.
OPTIONS: Prince Zahavi can either: (A) Investigate into the curse of his family by causing a castle lockdown. (B.)Take over as King of the kingdom, both A and B accept that his parents are doomed to die but give him a chance to find out who cursed them. (C) Journey to find the cure, alone, giving up the chance to find the suspect and putting the throne in danger. (D) Sneak out to find allies for the journey, giving up the ability to find the suspect. NO MATTER WHAT: Zahavi will run into every character on the bellow list, and soon after the journey will start, how, why, and when it starts is dependent on 𝓗𝓸𝓷𝓮𝔂 𝓑𝓮𝓮 ’s choice regarding Zahavi.

Eldred headed out into the hallway a couple of moments before Leon followed him out, since the girl paused to thank Drusilla. He waited, coughing into a handkerchief he kept tucked into his pocket. By the time Leon joined him he had finished coughing and he was in the process of folding the handkerchief and putting it back in his pocket.
“My study is just down the hallway,” Eldred said to the girl, “it’ll be safer if we talk there, this hallways isn’t secure.”
He knew it would be risky for Leon to show her magic out here or even talk about the magic; anyone could see and even if she was with Eldred that didn’t mean her protection could be guaranteed. Especially with the king and queen now dead, which put Eldred in a more dangerous situation than he had ever been in before. Zahavi was technically in charge now, but that didn’t mean much for the protection of Eldred, Leonela and other magical people. If Zahavi took the throne now, people would take advantage of the chaos and put pressure on the king to persecute magical folk more than ever, which could be very bad news for Eldred as a magic user within the palace itself. There was the potential for unrest and lots of violence against magic users.
Not that even if Eldred was killed for his use of magic it would change much. He was more concerned for the safety of other magic users than himself.
Now he simply focused on leading Leon a small distance away to another room further down the hall, pushing the door open and revealing a cosy study used only by Eldred. It was clear he didn’t often receive visitors in this study because he hadn’t made any effort to hide the books on magic. The shelves were still in disarray from where he had been frantically searching only a few moments before for books on poisons.
“Alright, Leon,” Eldred said as he closed the door after the two of them “this is probably the best place in the palace for us to talk. You can show me how to do the test and, well, if there’s anything else you wanted to talk about, this would be a good time. But we don’t have long, time is of the essence.”
