[ one of my sisters was born on Oct 19.
Her due date was Halloween but she came early. As did I.
My oldest sister and younger brother were late late. ]

[Yeah that seems right  It's actually really nice not being the youngest in a group I was ALWAYS the youngest person in my year at school because the school year starts 1st September here (I don't know if it's different in America) and I'm literally born 31st August] |

(( Lol I've never been the oldest. I've always been like the 2nd or 3rd oldest one in a group, so like in the middle.
I think a lot of schools where I'm from start at the middle or end of August. Colleges around here start a couple weeks later than other schools, too. ))

Ugh I’m so glad I’m technically done with school now (until I go to uni but y’know)
Teenagers are the worst honestly and being the youngest and shortest in the year sucks. Omg did I tell you guys some horrible girl at my school was talking about me behind my back and called be a Hobbit because I’m short? I hate people tbh XD)

That's awful. I remember that happening all the time in high school. I got called a lot of different names for being short (sometimes in a joking way). I'm kind of used to it and it doesn't bother me now. All I have to say is some of the best people are short people and they're jealous of our awesomeness. ))

Leo - yeah I may have responded by saying that if this was the Shire I’d kick her to Mordor. Not to her face, and I didn’t actually confront her, but I said it to the person who told me so I felt mildly good for having a comeback XD)

[ after my sister got accepted into MIT my little 13y/o self decided that I wanted to be just like her and go there myself.
Needless to say I took a bunch of summer courses to get ahead in all of my classes and now I am paying for it b/c I dont even want to go there anymore >_<. I basically burnt myself out of school and lost my passion for learning so... yay. ]]

(( Sorry this is a little rushed, but I wanted to get a post up today! ))
The Namean's Curse.
The words struck a certain chord with Drusilla, though not out of recognition for the real use of dark magic. She was not a magical being, not truly, outside of her plants and medicinal remedies. Healing was its own form of magic, but she was no witch nor of fae blood. Ordinary by most standards, if not all.
"The Namean Curse," she repeated, crossing her arms and looking over the still bodies of her kingdom's rulers. Dying, slowly. No longer just sick or unwell: this affliction was one she could not fix, no matter how desperately she fought to. The revelation that Leon was no noble and a magic user to boot did not startle her. She merely shrugged her shoulders. "Magic is a part of this land. Without magic, I would dare to say that there would be no land at all."
"My father used to tell me a story, many years ago, of the Endless Curse, brought down upon a lonely village by a ruthless witch seeking revenge for her three lost children. 'It has no cure, it has no end. It is a curse that will last until all are dead, taking down those who stand in its way. That was a very real curse," she added softly, running a hand through her messy curls. "To hear of a curse that acts like poison is not surprising. Magic is adaptable and in the wrong hands, dangerous."
What did she know of magic? A bit. Personally, she had only ever met two magic users in her life whom she could say she knew well. Eldred being the first. The second being...well. Someone she held very dear. However, Dru was well versed in sniffing out those that had magic.
A gift, her father told her, from the time she was small. And it played a big part in the ways she had once followed her father's path.
"I knew there was something a little off about you, Leon," Dru said at last. Her tone wasn't judgmental, merely factual.
Before Eldred could take off with the woman, Dru snagged Leon's arm and said, "Secrets are my specialty. I will keep yours out of respect, so long as it won't get anyone hurt. But one way or another, everyone's secrets will be unearthed, whether they like it or not. Be prepared for that in the future." With that, she let go.
If Eldred wanted to test this girl's theory on curses and magic poisons, then he could very well do so and Drusilla would have his back. She kept secrets, she didn't spill them. All she could hope was that this one didn't get them in trouble.
For a moment, she almost forgot that Zahavi was there. Really, she should have heard his incessant whining or hear his outrage at being offered help by a magic user. However, when she turned to look at the prince, she found him sitting quietly between both his parent's beds. He looked lost, nearly broken. Leon's arrival stirred very little emotion on his face. It didn't seem like he was paying much attention to anyone other than his parents, holding each of their hands to his forehead, eyes closed, mumbling to himself.
Dru thought it sounded like he was praying. Or, perhaps, he might have been begging. |

Leon will hate the fact that Dru is so good at unearthing secrets, she has so many she keeps that it’s going to drive her insane that they have to be picked apart, one by one.)

(( Dru is just way too used to digging up secrets. She only worked as a spy for a few years, but her dad raised her to be able to do it since she was a kid. I can see her and Leon really not getting along because of all the secrecy. ))

Sparky: Dru's dad is a-okay! He's super old and cranky, but still kicking. Dru made him retire after he hurt his back. Can't say her mom's okay, though, but Dru's not haunted by her death. Her mom was older and sickly for a few years before she passed away. ))
