I was freaking out at first because nobody was responding to me on the chat page just after the notice came up that the forums were going to be shut down (Dawn did, and she said she'd get an account on here but to the extent of my knowledge she hasn't yet.  )
I'm so glad you're here now though!

That's completely understandable, don't worry about it.
I ended up saving the entire thread that contained my stories (I couldn't find TLO, but I think I might have the original saved somewhere on my computer.) and it also had a lot of our old conversations circa 2012, which was interesting to say the least.
And yeah, I remember Dawn mentioning something about knowing you on that site but I didn't ever get any usernames.

I had my fair share of embarrassing moments too, don't worry. XD
I'm probably going to subject the internet to my terrible attempts at writing soon, I'm working on a thing that I might post on here (because we have an off topic writing forum! I'm so happy! I used to campaign for that back in the day.)

Honestly you a few years ago reminds me a lot of one of my current real life friends, but she's a lot more brutally honest to the point of insensitivity, whereas I don't remember you being that way! I was thinking about it a while ago actually.
The character creation was preeetty much "generic hero," "angstfest," "innocent child" and "generic hero 2.0 and her extremely shy sister." To be fair, that's pretty much still my character creation ability now.
Honestly I barely even remember your story because it was so long ago, but I don't remember it being bad.
And yeah! I'm so happy we have off topic writing!

Ah, well, we're all brutally immature at some point. We also have all had incredibly terrible stories at some point. There are a few saved somewhere deep in the disorganized documents folder of my computer right now that are terrifying to look at O__O

There was one time in the midst of my pure angst grade seven phase (when I was so upset about having to go to junior high) that I drew a terrible picture in MS Paint that was pretty much a lot of screaming of "I HATE THIS SCHOOL" and other creepy quotes and a lot of terrible blood? Of course this was on my grandparents' computer, so eventually my brother found it and hasn't stopped making fun of it to this day. I managed to delete it and erase every trace of it being on the computer but you could say that's definitely me leaving my mark.
Before I had my own laptop I wrote all my stories and drew my pictures on my mom's computer, I'm too scared to go there even now...

I wasn't really all that great at thinking at age 11. Also they're not extremely tech-savvy so I don't think they'd go looking around their files all that often. It was actually a while before my brother even found it, like a year or two?

Okaayyy, so, I'm really just stealing some other tips I've found online but here goes:

Maybe take your characters and think about how you want them to develop, and create a plot that gives them the opportunity to develop and change? For example put them in a situation where, at the climax of the story, they're forced to make a decision that is possibly the hardest decision for them to make. Then think about where you want your characters to end up at the end of the story, and create a plot that would put them in those situations (with all the fun stuff you randomly feel like adding later, but that should get the main "problem" of the story out of the way.) I haven't actually tried this method because I usually come up with a basic plot before characters, but I hope it works?

hmmmmm, it really depends on the characters and what kind of story plays to your writing strengths and all that stuff.
You could do something like putting the characters into an unfamiliar situation, taking away something or someone they love, force them to discover that everything they thought they knew was wrong, etc.

Hello! Yeah, this layout definitely brings back the old memories. The name is very pretty!
I have the same problem with writing I've never finished... sometimes I don't even write down half a summary.

I've just been enjoying my summer mostly, not really doing anything too important. I spent a portion of the day clearing my old phone for my younger cousin to use, and spent the rest of the time on here and did a bit of writing and Sims playing. Nothing too productive. :/
I've never really been a huge roleplayer, I don't exactly know why. I'm planning on posting this story thing I'm writing (if I ever finish the first chapter, I don't think I'm even halfway through and it's already over 4k) but aside from that it's mostly talking to you.
