"I am Keystone." the large tom, outlined in red walked towards the frightened Robinpaw. Drips of red following his pawsteps and the sickening smell of deathberries filling the room. "I must warn you now Robinpaw. You need to find her."

"Who? Find who!?" Robinpaw shrunk in her nest, the deathly smelling tom now standing over her.

"Find the one who tells sweet lies. Don't let them leave. Let them drown in their own sea..."

Daisypaw continues to see strange figures in her dreams, as well as Toadpaw. They confront Shawfrost’s kits, and Heathkit seems the most ruffled by this cat. Branchpaw, Lilypaw and Hailpaw are made warriors, meanwhile Shawfrost’s kits become apprentices. Boulderpaw goes missing, as well as Waddlefoot. Later, Waddlefoot is found dead and his death as treated as suspicious, however, Boulderpaw remains missing. Heathpaw returns from her training, seemingly terrified and drowned in Boulderpaw’s scent. She quietly tells Fernpaw what had occurred between them, and that Boulderpaw threatened her.

Toadpaw has a dream again, however the cat can be seen more clearly. He realises they are a dark pelted cat, and the other has white splotches on their face. Scared, he immediately tells Simon, who comforts the tom, and asks if he and the cats he think are in danger would like to shelter in the leader’s den with him. Toadpaw agrees, allowing him and his littermates and Heathpaw and her littermates to shelter in the den. The cats find Boulderpaw has returned, and he says how he was captured. Little does Toadpaw know he has made a big mistake of who he has invited in the den. Willowpaw makes friends with Boulderpaw, which is surprising. He tells her something that chills her, and she promises not to tell.

Verytime Breezeboumce approaches Toadpaw and Daisypaw, he notices Boulderpaw becomes angry. He asks Bluepool if she could assess him. She tells the tom that Boulderpaw May have anger issues due to neglect. Interestingly, Shawfrost speaks to Boulderpaw, who starts spilling out all his feelings. He says Breezebounce never really gave him any attention, and Daisypaw and Toadpaw have always been the special ones with the prophecy. She notices his claws are unsheathed while he says this. Scared for her daughters lives and his littermates, she would help, but is expecting another litter of Turtleweb’s.
Two loners join the Clan with their adoptive son. Cloverleaf and Frecklebark become mates, and she moves into the nursery expecting his kits. Wolfmoon is found dead, the same way as Waddlefoot was.

Toadpaw becomes more paranoid by the minute that night, having had a vision of a cat standing around many bodies. He realises his dream aligns with that night, and all of a sudden there is a blood curdling scream from the apprentices den.

“What’s going on?” Toadpaw rushes into the apprentices den, and the smell of blood hits his nose almost instantly.

“Fernpaw.. is dead.” Heathpaw whimpers, gazing at the grey mottled body at her paws.

“How, what happened?” Toadpaw looks alarmed, up to his brother, who seemed to be in the den at the time.

“I was sleeping, I didn’t see who it was. But I think I know who.” He simply says before secretly smirking, which Toadpaw catches.

“Where’s Daisypaw?” He askes Willowpaw, who looks almost distant.

“I’m not sure. She’s been out since morning.”

“Because she’s the one who murdered Fernpaw.”
Toadpaw is shocked at his brother’s accusation but keeps quiet. Turning and running, he bolts for the forest.

“I have to tell Daisypaw of the danger she’s in.”

Fernpaw’s death causes Shawfrost to go in labour. Only one kit survives.
