Aspenfall could feel her soaked pelt bristle and rise at his words, her pain starting to mix with slight anger. "I needed you a long time ago." She choked out, her throat preventing her from sounding normal. She cursed silently in her head and lashed her tail, glancing out of the camp to see Eclipselight pausing not too far ahead.

"I know, and I'm sorry. I was too much of a coward to come and talk to you. I was selfish, I didn't think I could see you without feeling even more pain, but I realized that I would rather be your friend than not see you ever again. I miss you Aspen, I miss you a lot..."

Redflight hadn’t noticed before Maplestrike pointed it out, but the storm was unusual. The warrior’s eyes slowly traveled around the den as she suddenly began to feel the overwhelming sense of danger, the air so thick one could choke. “Huh..” Redflight frowned as her gaze made its way back to Maplestrike. “It’ll be fine, Maplestrike. I’m sure this is just a regular storm, and it’ll be gone in no time,” the red she-cat smiled as she moved over to the other cat’s side to provide extra comfort. While for the most part Redflight appeared and felt calm, there was a small voice in the back of her mind telling her to be on full alert, the part of her that actually knew this was no ‘regular storm.’

Aspenfall could feel her heart tear again and she lashed her tail, glancing away from the camp to look at the crippled tom before her. Her green eyes were blazing with anger and hurt as she stood abruptly, the tears she held back overflowing down her cheeks. "You think I didn't feel the same pain when you lost your memory? I wanted to be there for you and then you pushed me away for the second time!" she snapped back, not caring about her voice levels. She knew it was late out, horribly late but she couldn't help it.
Maplestrike appreciated the warrior's presence and briefly brushed her pelt against Redflight's before sitting down. She felt Flamestep release her scuff and glanced over to see the tom move into his own nest, uncharacteristically quiet. "I hope so Redflight, I don't like the feel of this storm. It doesn't help that its in the middle of the night either.. " she murmured, glancing down at her paws only to flinch at the sound of more thunder.

Cederbristle flinched away from the tone of her voice, his ears and posture lowering, refusing to look up at the she-cat. "I know... Aspen I'm so sorry... I know that no amount of apologizing with fix the pain, but I knew that I needed to apologize at least." He glanced up at her quickly, pain evident in his eyes, "I'm so sorry Aspen..."

Cedarpaw and Foxstar slowly limped towards camp. Foxstar's pale eyes focused on the entrance and scent of cats made a growl rose in his throat.

Redflight watched Flamestep climb into his nest before noticing how unsettled and off a few other warriors were. How did she not sense the tense atmosphere? Her heart began to race a little faster as her mind now created more thoughts about how this night would end badly in one way or another. Redflight turned to Maplestrike, forcing a look of calmness to mask her uneasiness. “You’re not alone, Maplestrike. Look at all the warriors here. We’re safe as long as we stick together,” the she-cat meowed, almost more to reassure herself rather than Maplestrike.

Aspenfall whimpered at this words and a sob escaped her, seemingly shrinking down in herself. "I..I needed you Cedarbristle and you left. You left me." she whimpered out, crouching down as she curled her tail around herself. "I missed you.."

"Stupid, annoying cats." Eclipselight hissed out, her ears flattening as she stormed out into the harsh weather. Why did she allow Aspenfall to manipulate her into looking for the damned elder? She couldn't care less if he went off to join StarClan. Lightning flashed ahead of her and illuminated the outline of two figures, causing her fur to bristle. Was that red she saw?

Eclipselight was the first cat Foxstar noticed and broke off into a sprint. His jaws were widely parted in a snarl with drool and blood dripping down his mouth.

Maplestrike tried to force herself to relax at Redflight's words and she forced out a small purr, noting with some annoyance that she couldn't get her fur to lie flat. "Strength in numbers is right. Thank you for that.." she told the warrior, shaking off the feeling that something was wrong. Everything was fine.

Cederbristle felt even smaller as he heard her cry, "I never wanted to hurt you, Aspen, but I did and I hate myself for doing that to you. I don't deserve you as a friend, I know that." He quickly brushed his tail against her side, his heart yelling at him to comfort her, but not knowing how.

Eclipselight let out a surprised hiss, leaping backwards out of the leader's path. "What in the world is wrong with you?!" she snarled out angrily, not appreciating the bum rush. The sudden whiff of something sour and earthy made her fur stand on end and she lashed her tail, not noticing the second figure.

Redflight nodded her head, “Anytime.” The she-cat glanced over to Maplestrike’s nest and gave her a nudge, “You should try to get some sleep. When you wake up, it’ll all be over.” She managed a small smile, though the warrior didn’t want Maplestrike to leave her just yet. Redflight was afraid her anxiousness would grow without have another cat to talk to, but she simply repeated her words to Maplestrike to soothe her nerves. It would all be alright, and the sooner she fell asleep, the sooner it would all be over.

Foxstar skidded past and whirled around with angry hiss. "Food..." He merely stated in a gurgling voice before leaping at her once more. He caught her by the limbs and knocked her to the ground.
Cedarpaw pasted by the two and went into camp, hidden in the shadows. She noticed Cedarbristle and Aspenfall together, deciding to go to them.

"I missed you.. Don't do that to me again.. I missed you." Aspenfall sobbed out, pressing her head into his shoulder. All she could think was that she couldn't loose her friend again but she knew that Copperpelt and Cedarbristle may never get along. She felt like she would go mad if she lost him again.

Cederbrislte felt the tears burning at the backs of his eyes as Aspenfall pressed against him, his head resting on hers, "I won't leave again, I promise. I need you too much." The tom was too overcome with emotion to notice the looking danger behind him.

Copperpelt left the warriors' den and winced by the loud sound of the storm. His gaze landed on Cedarbristle and Aspenfall, feeling a tightening in his chest by the way they were acting. He lowered his gaze before walking to the fresh kill pile and poking at whatever he found.

Maplestrike shook her head at the nudge and curled her tail around her paws. "I c-can't seem to sleep during a storm like this. I can stay up.. That is if you want to talk to me." she told the warrior quietly, noticing the thunder and lightning illuminating the camp once more.
Eclipselight felt her blood run cold at Foxstar's hiss and she was too slow to get away from his leap. "Wake up Foxstar, you ginger fool!" she hissed out, shoving him off of her with a great heave of her hind paws. She would never admit it but she was terrified of the way her leader was acting.

Foxstar stumbled when she pushed away and seemed a bit dazed before going after her again. He actually used his full force and tackled her to the muddy ground. His teeth almost glimmered as a flash of lightning and sank his teeth into whatever he could reach.

Redflight nodded, “Of course. I wouldn’t mind talking.” The she-cat forced herself to relax and slouched down slightly as she began grooming her fur. “Aren’t you glad about all those kits becoming apprentices? We’ll have lots of new warriors in no time,” she meowed in a rather happy tone.
Hailclaw still remained at the edge of the camp by the Warrior’s Den, oblivious to the activity in the camp. He had fallen asleep, and it was hard for him to wake up if he wasn’t ready. His sides rose and fell gently, his ear or tail twitching every now and then.

Aspenfall pulled away from the tom after a moment, realizing one fatal error. "What about Copperpelt.. You left me because of him." she whimpered out, her fear starting to creep back. She wasn't aware that they were being watched or that something slipped past them and into the camp shadows. Her green eyes flickered back to camp and towards the warriors den only to have them land on Copperpelt. Her heart spasmed and her ears lowered once more.
Eclipselight was only allowed a quick breather before she was tackled heavily, driving the air out of her lungs with a whoosh. She saw the flash of teeth before letting out a pained scream, one that echoed into the forest and back into camp as the former leader sank his teeth into her foreleg. What was her leader doing?! Did he think that she was the enemy? She panicked slightly as her pain started to fade into an icy cold, making her whimper. She was loosing a lot of blood and it didn't make any sense.
"I wouldn't mind an apprentice. My nephew managed to get two yet I only had one so far. I'm starting to get jealous." Maplestrike joked, her fur starting to finally fall before a faint scream echoed into the den. Her fur stood on end and thunder boomed, making her ears flattened. "T-That was just the wind, right?"

Foxstar gnawed on her leg for a few seconds before pulling away and staring at her expectedly. He knew she would turn as well and they would get as many cats as they can.

Eclipselight felt the chill spreading rapidly through her body and she let out a pained gasp, spasming on the ground. Letting out one last pained gasp, the she cat fell still, her eyes dimming. Eclipselight knew nothing for a few heartbeats before a fierce and ravenous hunger flooded through her, shocking her into waking. She staggered to her paws, ignoring how her mangled paw twisted harshly under her dead weight.

Cederbristle pressed up against her, "If it meant being able to remain your friend I will get along with him, he's not a bad tom, if anything he's a better tom for you than I could ever be. I was jealous, that's all." Cederbristle felt his whiskers twitch, "I'd love to see what you guys turn out to be. Maybe I'll get to be an uncle to some kits one day." His tone was light, teasing Aspenfall made him remember their childhood together, it was a welcome memory.

Ambershine laid curled up in her nest, her hind leg hurting fiercly. It always hurt during storms and cold weather but this was different. It was much worse. This storm would be an awful one. She moaned a little in pain and curled up tighter

Cedarpaw spotted Aspenfall first and let out a low growl before staggering over. She didn't look anything like herself before and was a mangled mess. "Live forever..." Her dirt filled throat rumbled before preparing to leap on top of the she-cat who was distracted by Cedarbristle.
Copperpelt had glance back at them to see some sort of mess about to attack Aspenfall. A gasp left his voice as his large body bolted forward and he felt speed he never had before. "Aspenfall!" He yowled before shoving his friend aside and feeling the smaller cat run into him. "AHHH!" He screamed as Cedarpaw suddenly gripped his throat with her teeth and tore a good junk out. The warrior let out a gargled cry before falling to the ground and spasmed a few times before going still, tears rolling down his muzzle as he stared directly at Aspenfall. "I love you..." Was his last words before he died.
