Drake grunted as Rhayne gave them the report and he frowned. “So it’s a combination of fire and necromancy... that’s both awful and disturbing...” he said. “We need to end this quickly...”
Arcane padded up to Quetzal and nuzzled her comfortingly. “It’s just part of the Beast’s dark powers... we will end this soon.”

Rhayne nodded. "The more we lose, the more they gain. Hopefully you two can figure out how to put that beast away again, or kill it. Ghio we can deal with. Fire demons? Not for too long." The idea was insane. Mysha sighed before looking at Drake and saying "Good thing you're here. Nothing worked as well as your black fire." Glancing over at their dragons, she then asked "... how many out of the hatchlings can breathe black fire, if you know?"
Quetzal felt better at the reassurance. "I hope so. We basically just supplied them with more numbers. But the humans, dogs and dragons here will work together. I know it, and things will be alright."

Drake sighed softly as he pondered the question. “As of Right now I’ve seen the bigger male, Pyre, use the black flame. And Scaws a bit too. I don’t think Magna can, nor Candrite...” He said as he looked at his wife. “Why?”
Arcane nodded. “We will help get everyone to work together as best we can. We will get through this. I know we will.”

Mysha hummed, studying their smaller forms. "I want them fitted for armor." She didn't say much else, simply telling Rhayne to go get a possible number on how many people they had lost. All the while she studied the family of dragons, watching Magna snuggle up to Shard as Ma'ait sniffed at the other three hatchlings.
Quetzal seemed to feel better at that. "I believe you." She then looked around at the group. "So, what now? Any chance we can stay in the fort? I just... don't want to stay in the commons."

Drake blinked a couple times. “You aren’t thinking of taking them into the fray, are you?” He asked, knowing Shard and probably Ma’ait would attempt to burn Mysha alive at the thought of possibly involving their babies in the battling.
Arcane nodded instantly, circling the group. “Of course you can stay! I’m sure Mysha and Drake would be fine with it. They will see you’re our friends.”

Mysha shrugged. "Yes. For all we know, our attempt to replicate the metal will fail, and black fire is the only weapon we have. That means at maximum we have four weapons, including you." Sighing, she said "They're getting fitted tomorrow morning."
Quetzal and her friends looked better at that. "Alright then," she said. "I just feel safer at the fort now, with the Dogs." She stayed close to Arcane as they entered the fort, Ligach leading the group to where they could stay.

Drake sighed and nodded as he followed Mysha back into the fort. “Our dragon’s aren’t going to like this...” he murmured.
Arcane stayed close to Quetzal as they walked back into the fort. “At least we have a safe place to stay.” He commented.

Mysha snorted. "They'll be burn their own anger out at some point and realize how necessary it is." Upon getting back inside, she walked with Drake back to their room. She doubted she would get any sleep at that point though. No one would probably.
Ligach settled down after getting to their spot, the other dogs settling down too. They all looked a little restless though, as if they didn't want to fall asleep. He doubted those things would come back though, at least for tonight. "Let's just try and get some rest."
(Maybe we can skip to tomorrow?? X3)

(I can :3)
The next morning, Mysha had sent for the smiths to go and get Scaws and Pyre measured. Shard wasn't getting any armor because he didn't necessarily need any. You could soon hear the angry screeching as the parents figured out why their kids were getting measured, Mysha sighing before going outside to the dragons.
Quetzal and her friends had woken up to the screeching, watching curiously as the mother dragon snapped at the scared smiths. The men kept their distance, letting her sit herself between them and her kids. "Why do you think they're getting fitted for armor? They're not even fully grown." Well, they were still big for dragons, but nowhere near the size of an adult.

Shard was just as mad as his mate, hissing at the armor smiths and black smoke billowing from his mouth.
Scaws and Pyre were hiding behind their parents, clearing frightened by the smiths as well.
"More than likely Lady Mysha has an idea how they could help us win the war. But parents are never okay with letting their children help in adult fights."

Mysha walked up to the dragons and snapped. "Ma'ait!" Her dragon hissed in anger, keeping her children away. "You saw everything last night. Those two are half the effective weapons we have if the plan doesn't work!"
Quetzal studied the scene cautiously. "I wouldn't let my pups fight, but I suppose dragons are a little different." It was up to the parents though of course.

Shard hissed as the Queen yelled at his mate. “I’m not letting her near our kids.” He growled.
Drake quickly ran over to his wife and looked up at their dragon’s. “Mysha this is falling apart...”

Mysha snorted. "Fine." Turning away, she simply walked off. Gave up, though too easily. Ma'ait noticed this, and looked over at Shard. She didn't pay Drake any mind, mainly cause he seemed hesitant on the idea. Mysha had just left, though she did signal for Beta and Drake to follow her.

Drake sighed and reluctantly followed his wife, casting a glance back to the dragons that said “I’m sorry” before he ran off to Mysha.
Shard sighed and turned to his kids, curling around them. “It’s okay, kids. You’re not going anywhere to fight without our say.”

Magna was practically hugging her father's leg while Xandrite was just looking. "Papa, what if they are right? What if you, Scaws and Pyre are the only weapons they'll have?"
Mysha pinched the bridge of her nose once they were out of earshot. "We're separating the parents from them. When we try combining the beast blood with the flames. Then I'm sending Beta and Zeta to take the kids."

Shard huffed and he licked Magna's head a few times to calm her while looking to Xandrite. "Then I'll fight harder. I won't let you four be in danger." He replied quietly.
Drake frowned and wrapped his arm around his wife. "Mysha that probably won't work. The protective parents will probably keep them so close we won't be able to get near them." He said softly.

Xandrite sniffed. "You're being kinda stingy." Ma'ait looked down at the white dragon, who shrank back a little. The elder of the two huffed "You're all too young to be fighting things like that." Xandrite looked up at her parents as she said "I could help then! I know I could. Papa saw it last night!" She looked up at Shard hopefully.
Mysha hummed. "They'll be preoccupied during the procedure, I'm sure. I'm sure they can be convinced. It isn't far-fetched to assume that being near them would be dangerous." They were dealing with black fire and mysterious glowing blood. "We have to try, cause we need to prepare for failure." At this point she was just walking to calm down. "If they get to the point of attacking us, they'll have to deal with Ligach, Arcane and the statues outside." Any aggression toward the rulers of that land was sure to be met by the protectors.

Shard sighed a little bit and he licked Xandrite's head. "That only seemed to be a fluke, sweetie. That might be one of your abilities but you can't be throwing up all the time."
((Does her last sentence mean if the dragons get to the point of attacking or Ghio's army?))

(The dragons. It's mainly just a hopeful comment though cause the statues would likely be aware that Shard and Ma'ait are just protecting their kids from being soldiers x3)

Ahh okay thanks))
I also replied for the dragons above))
"Maybe, Mysha." Drake said as he walked her towards the dining area. "But for now let's just eat. I'm starving." He said, trying to change the subject.

Xandrite huffed. "They were scared of me though. Or the powers I don't know. All I know is that I want to be helping. I'm big enough!" Barely. Ma'ait tsked and said "You're not going to be clad in armor, fighting monsters. You're young. Not much older than your siblings!" She then jumped as Xandrite snapped "I WANT to!" Ma'ait hadn't jumped because she yelled, but because of what happened. As the younger had stomped her front paws, a portion of her face had broken out into dark, hardened material mapped out with glowing orange cracks.
Mysha grumbled, seeming to calm down a little. She was still angry at the dragons though. Well, not at them really. More like their disaggreement. "Fine." Sighing, she walked with Drake into the dining hall, guards already moving to alert the cooks. Going to their usual table, she settled down and looked over at Drake. "I'll probably be riding a horse for the next while." Ma'ait was likely very angry at her.

Shard watched as Xandrite basically rebelled and he growled softly, feeling his mate flinch but showing no surprise. "Xandrite! You do NOT talk to us like that." He snarled.
Drake chuckled a little bit as he sat down beside his wife and he kissed her softly. "Possibly. I might be too just from relation." He said as he hugged her gently. "But don't worry too much darling. It isn't healthy."

Xandrite wanted to calm down, but it was just... hard. She felt her chest heaving, staring up at her father, the eye changed on her face narrowing. "I will talk to you HOWEVER I want!" As she talked, the molten form creeped over more of her face. "Mom and Magna are useless right now! This place needs all the help it can get!"
Mysha laughed a little, putting her arm around Drake in a hug. "I'll try not to. It's just a little hard cause we have a whole people to protect." She then looked as food was brought out, and her stomach growled. Turns out she was quite hungry.:

Shard's eyes narrowed and black flame started coursing up around him. Raising his tail, he lightly smacked Xandrite on the cheek. "Calm down RIGHT NOW young lady." He snarled. "Your mother has managed to copy the blood of the beast, which is the biggest part of the necessary parts to create the binding chains to once again subdue that beast causing all this. And you NEVER raise your voice to me. Got it?"
Drake smirked a bit as he heard her belly growl. "Wow you're quite hungry too." He said as the food was set in front of them.

Xandrite's eyes widened, blinked once at the light smack. Stepping back, her lips pulled back a little before she turned and left, up in the sky. Ma'ait called her back, but she just kept going. Disappearing over the fort wall to wherever.
Mysha laughed a little. "Yeah. Burned a lot of calories fighting I suppose." She snorted at the thought. "I have a hunch we lost a lot. Once we get an idea, I think we need to start pushing for more training. Our last resort would be a conscription though."

Shard watched as his daughter suddenly took off and he started to spread his wings, but didn't and decided it would be better to let her cool off on her own.
"Yes that would be a good idea, increasing training." He said as he grabbed a cooked chicken thigh and started eating it. "And, like you said, conscription is the last possible option."

Ma'ait sighed. "She'll calm down at some point. We just need to wait." She nuzzled her mate before looking down at their kids, Magna looking after where Xandrite had gone off toward worriedly.
Mysha got some food for herself as well and started eating. After swallowing a bite, she said "We'll just wait a while before trying the chain recreation." She really just wanted their first plan to work. "Hopefully they'll be calm after a while."

Shard licked his mate softly as she nuzzled him and he too turned to their kids, where Scaws was cowering behind his brother Pyre who was carefully curled around him to keep him safe.
Drake nodded slowly as they ate their food. "Yes, that would probably be best to wait." He said as he lightly brushed some of Mysha's hair out of her face and behind her ear. "I'm just praying that our plans work. This needs to end."

Ma'ait sighed, settling with the kids and trying to calm them down a little. "It'll be okay. You'll be okay." She wasn't going to let them join the fighting. It was too much. Looking over at Shard, she said "I hope their idea works."
Mysha nodded. "It does. If these attacks become frequent, all we're doing is giving that beast more soldiers for its army." And then they would simply be swamped by the numbers. That's why she wanted the dragons on the field.
