(Wil Co!)
Aldnoa pushed himself through to the gathering of the others, and smiled upon spotting Larkes. "My friend. Are you well?" He asked, with uncharacteristic optimism.

Larkes looked up as he heard heavy footsteps and mechanical sounds from behind him and he smiled upon seeing Aldnoa. “Hi Aldnoa. I’m doing very well. God a good night’s rest.” He said. He then tilted his head. “Why so peppy and optimistic? Find something good in the caves?” He asked, having heard from one of the guards where his partner and Zeta had went during the night.

He nodded. "Two theories. Hopefully, wind can stagger him, but that's the throwaway idea. The better is this- we need to examine the chains. If it's a magical spell, someone else can detect and decipher it. If it's in the material, I'll be able to collect a small sample and digest it, and be able to tell its composition." Upon realizing how crazy that sounded, he shook his head. "Just trust me. I'm finding I can do some absolutely insane things."

Mysha shook her head. "Those chains are gone most likely. That beast would not have just left them there." She scratched her chin, thinking. "The next best thing would be to try and find out if there's an actual material, like Aldnoa wants to examine, or if they need to be made from scratch." Readying to take off, she added "And I doubt anything those links are made of will register even to you, only because no simple material would've been used to make them." As Ma'ait spread her wings, Mysha chuckled "But who knows. None of us really know anything about what went down during that time." And that was when her dragon took flight, signaling that it was time to go. Either way, if they wanted a look at those chains, if they hadn't been destroyed, they probably had to find the traitors at the very least.

“I guess only time will tell, Aldnoa.” Larkes said as he climbed aboard the dragon. “Let’s get to it!”
Shard soon took off after his mate, with Drake upon his back. “We can do this, Mysha.” Drake said to her as he looked over at her.

Mysha looked over at Drake. "I sure hope so," she murmured. Sure, they could deal with dragons, but old monsters weren't exactly a common occurence. Everything had a weakspot though. As Ma'ait rose up into the air, leading the way toward the forest, Mysha kept quiet most of the way, just thinking the entire way there. Hopefully they could help Aldnoa out.

Aldnoa lifted Larkes onto his back with a purr of excitement. With him settled in he then rose into the air as well, and followed closely along with those around him.

Max braced for contact as the knife came towards his chest. But when the knife bent he opened his eyes and sighed with relief. He grinned wide and staryed laughing. "I see you have a sense of humour. I like that." He felt his heart starting to slow down after going 100 bpm.
I'll do fusion later. Sorry im in a rush))

((Sorry!))
Drake and Larkes each flew in silence with their dragons, while Shard let out soft growls every once in a while. They were clearly all tense, if not a little bit excited, for this next step in their adventure. As they flew, Larkes couldn’t help but lean over so he could see the other two humans. “So do we have any kind of a battle plan? In case guards are there?”

Mysha looked over at Larkes. "If there's any trouble, we need to try and go with a surprise attack." That was the most logical to catch them off guard. "The dragons should try and draw their attention while the three of us go in and try to look around. There's no chance we'll get anywhere important quietly without being seen."

"Remember. Those chains may be our only hope." Aldnoa chimed in, finally breaking his silence. But he did little other than remind them.

Fusion was ready to leap when the lady drove the knife forward but he too relaxed when the dummy knife did no harm. He let out a sound of amusement as he watched the two laugh. He turned back to the other dragon, "That gave me a scare." he said.

Drake nodded and Larkes let out an agreeing grunt. “Sounds like a plan here then.” Larkes stated before looking ahead again.
Drake looked over at his wife. “We’ll be fine, Mysha. We can do this.” He said for the umpteetnth time since they met.
Sorry Long! I’ll be at the new rp later. Quite busy rn))
The girl giggled some more and she held out a hand, thankfully not armed with a blade. “I’m Scarada. This is my friend Chrysalis.” She said, indicating the dragon.
Chrysalis emitted a happy warble-like sound and she lightly bumped her head on the male to show friendliness.

You couldn't see it, but Mysha cracked a smile beneath her mask. "Every time you say that, we end up winning." Hopefully Drake was right this time too. Eventually, they reached the forest, but Mysha had everyone land at the border, telling the riders to split up cause smokey forgot he had rhayne send some extras. Small groups set out, leaving Larkes, Drake and Mysha as a trio with their dragons. Hopping off of Ma'ait, she motioned for the others to do the same as she proceeded forward into the blackened forestry.

Drake quickly dismounted Shard and they each stood close to their respective lover and walked beside them. Larkes remained behind the two rulers, walking along cautiously and looking around slowly.

Mysha stayed with Drake as they moved about the forest, spear in hand as they cautiously proceeded forward. "I can't wait for this mess to end," she muttered quietly. As they moved forward, she made sure to keep an eye out. Surprisingly, the trap was left unguarded, that she could see. It was super quiet. Looking around, she whispered "Should we go near it?"

Max kept his smile on as he took her hand. "Oh so you do have a name! nice to meet you." He looked down at Chrysalis, "Nice to meet you too." He looked back at Scarada and the fake knife. "Thats a pretty cool weapon you got there. Where did you get it?" he asked.

Drake stayed beside Mysha as they neared the pit that formerly held the gigantic dragon-like creature. “Hold on, Mysha. Let’s see what could happen if we did approach.” He said. He formed a black fireball in his hand and shot it toward the pit. If nothing happened, good. He’d then try a humanoid form. If something did happen, also good. They’d know not to get close.
Scarada smiled. “I found it at a cool little magic shop a few cities over. Helps keep criminals away while also helping judge a person’s character.” She said with a happy shrug as she stowed the knife in a sheath on her waist. “So why are ou here in the market today?” She asked, purchasing a couple apples from a man at a fruit stand and tossing one to Chrysalis, who caught it in her mouth and then ate it in a couple chomps in her mouth.
After finishing her apple, Chrysalis smirked a little and raised her long, slender tail up and over the male dragon’s back and tapped the end of her tail on his shoulder opposite her, like a kid coming up on one side of their friend and tapping their other shoulder as a prank.

Mysha watched the fireball moved toward the pit. Blinking, she watched as nothing happened. No response from the trap, but someone did walk out, moving over toward the pit and looking around, avoiding the part of the grass that had caught fire from the ball. They weren't wearing the blackened fur and metal for armor like the rest of the traitors, instead having russet fur and silvery metal. Looking around, they couldn't immediately see the group it seemed. "Who's there?" they asked suspiciously, hand hovering over the axe at their waist.

“Who are you?” Drake called out, readying more fireballs in each hand just in case.
Shard stayed close to Drake, Ready to defend him if needed, while Larkes remained close to Aldnoa. Mostly for the bit dragon to defend him.

The individual straightened up. "None of your concern," he answered, eyes narrowing from behind the eye sockets of the mask. "But I know who you six are... two monsters and their dragons. A human and his metal beast. The dogs have shown us." Mysha narrowed her eyes as the man laughed to himself like an excited child. He took a step toward them, and Mysha raised her spear. The man jumped back a bit, still snickering behind his mask. He then stopped, sounding a little unsure as he asked "... are you really going to defeat it? The dogs have never lied..."

Drake growled softly. He clearly didn’t like this situation. Nether did his dragon, apparently, as he shuffled closer to Ma’ait to protect her. “Mysha, do you know who he is? He seems to have a strong connection to the Dogs.” He said, fire beginning to creep up his arms and legs b

Mysha shook her head slowly. "No, I don't. Maybe-" She gripped her spear as he shuffled closer, sniffing at the air like a dog and saying "Lots of bloodshed coming. The beast is strong, but you six are smarter..." He snickered again. "You've got traitors to worry about though... came from gold and infected by a black plague..." Taking a few steps back, he looked around suspiciously. "You're looking for the chains."

Drake growled again and daringly stepped forward, since their cover was clearly blown. “Okay so you know who we are. Now tell us your story.” He said, Shard trotting up behind him.

The man snickered softly to himself, pacing a few times. Mysha gave him a look before casting a glance at Drake. "Should we really even trust this guy? He doesn't look very... credible?" Sound was probably the proper word to use. The "russet-furred" man scratched his eye through his mask for an itch, telling them "I am... a friend. I know lots. The dogs show me. They show me the monster. The monster gets defeated by you six." He looked around suspiciously again. "But there's gonna be red. Lots of red, until you win." He turned and walked away a few steps, motioning for them to follow. Mysha tsked, looking over at Drake and Larkes as she whispered "I don't think we should follow him. He looks so out of it!"

Drake looked back to his wife, one eyebrow raised. “Since when were you the one to follow common sense?” He asked amusedly. He walked back to Mysha and took her hands in his. “Let’s just follow him, Mysha. If things turn ugly we can escape. We’ve done crazier stuff in the past.”

Mysha looked unsure, but decided together Drake as usual. So, she moved to follow the man, who led them into the forest. The russet fur was easy to follow as he moved about the trees. Ma'ait stayed beside Shard as they followed the humans, nuzzling his shoulder with a soft chirp. She then looked over sharply as the stranger spoke to their riders "So... what are you to do with the burned egg? Or youngling by now. You should get of it. It'll cause nothing but trouble in the future." Ma'ait looked over at Shard and asked "He can't mean Xandrite, does he?"

Shard warbled softly in response to his mate’s chirps as they walked together. However, at the mention of the ‘burned’ dragon egg and the very suggestion of abandoning his eldest daughter he hissed loudly and charged a big fireball in his mouth. “If He is, it isn’t happening.” The male dragon growled.
Drake had the same kind of sentiments as his dragon, frowning softly. “And why is that? All younglings are trouble at times. Both as children and adults.” He said.

Mysha knew Shard and Ma'ait wouldn't give up their eldest daughter. She was just as much family as their actual kids. "I don't think they like that idea," she told the man, seeing the dragons getting angry. The man snickered, shaking his head to himself as he said "The fire corrupts worse than it burns.... the youngling will struggle. She won't see you as family one day. She will look to the monster for guidance." Ma'ait hissed, and Mysha said "She has a big family to help her make the right choices." She looked over at Drake from behind her mask as the guy laughed to himself as he led the way. "I don't like him," she grumbled, but so far nothing bad had happened. By now they would've been ambushed.
