Ma'ait nodded once, flames flickering as she did. The people would jump back when the flames got close. Looking to the side, she saw a glint in the darkness, and jumped. Rapidly shifting back into metal again, a huge crossbow bolt bounced off of her body instead of spearing Shard. And then she proceeded to have her head plowed into the dirt, Ghio grabbing her and slamming her down. And as he worked, you could see people starting to dart out, dressed in armor covered by fur and bones. They all spread out for a better chance of getting inside. She tried to work with Shard to keep them away, but some were beginning to slip past.

Larkes shrugged, still enjoying the flying bit the most. “Armor might be the best thing. And a change of clothes in general.” He said, examining his soiled clothing that were nearly rags.

"I'm sure a few townspeople could be easily persuaded. Without even a threat- just say you're in need of a change of clothes and a suit of armor, and they'll see me and assume you royalty. They'll give you whatever you ask." He chuckled, slowly beginning to descend.

Seeing Ma’ait being attacked, Shard’s aura got even more powerful and his black, cloud-like form became solid again and he rushed at Ghio and knocked him off his friend. He then enveloped ahhh I in the same black orb as before, but this time he wasn’t getting out so easily. He let out a deafening roar and started clawing and striking at Ghio, all the while trying to keep him in the orb. “Get the others, Ma’ait!” He called
Larkes laughed amusedly. “You hope. They might just run past me and start attacking you with their strongest weapons.” Larkes said, watching as they descended towards the ground. “Remember, nearly the entire continent hates dragon’s now.”

"I'll behave, even if they throw rocks. Feces is where I draw the line." He joked in return. A small village was between them and the castle's direction, and so he focused on landing there.

Larkes gathered himself together as they grew ever closer to the ground. He’d soon be face to face with humans, the awful creatures he’d loathed since he was a teenager. But hopefully this would be different. Only time would tell.

Ma'ait tried to go after the others, but reared back when the stone dogs moved, flames springing to life from their mouths, producing smoke-like drool as they blocked the entrance. She hissed at the sneers and snickers of the humans, watching them disappear as they went further. So, she turned back and simply tried to keep others from following, but more and more were appearing like a swarm of rats. Ghio was also fighting with Shard, bright hands grabbing him and shoving him back. All the while, others were throwing spears and other shard weapons. They looked normal, but you had a hunch that you wouldn't want to see what they felt like either way, dragon or not.
Mysha was still seizing, but she seemed to be getting a little better. Hopefully she'd stop soon though, for the sake of any brain damage. Beta turned to the side to see people appear at the entrance. They slowly walked into the room, some carrying melee weapons, spears or even crossbows.

Once they landed, he padded towards town square, then swiftly sat down, laying down his wing for Larkes to use like a slide to get down. And he would be silent when the villagers came, trust completely in Larkes.

In his current form, sharpened weapons had no affect. They sailed right through his cloud. He continued to pry and claw at Ghio, then roared and breathed black flames onto him. He hoped his rider and Mysha would be okay, but right now all he could focus on was defending Ma’ait from the awful Ghio.
The aura that Drake has summoned suddenly took form into a glowing magic circle in the air. “Dark wind.” He murmured, and a strong blast of wind filled with dark aura blasted outwards at the soldiers.
Larkes smiled as Aldnoa settled down and he laughed as he slid off the giant’s wing. He looked around slowly, wondering whether he should go into town or wait for someone to come investigate.

It didn't take long. A woman in rough deerskin clothing and very old-looking hobbled out towards Larkes, aided only by a young man, who was shaking with fear. Everyone else must be terrified. "Young man. You are riding some kind of dragon. Explain why you are here." She demanded.

“Don’t be afraid. We mean you no harm.” Larkes said, holding out his tough, calloused hand. “We’re from a land a ways away and I need some clothes. We got robbed and some other stuff happened while we were asleep.” He said, somehow managing to expertly lie.

Ma'ait noticed she wasn't doing much in terms of attack for Ghio, so she just huddled where she was, feeding Shard more fire as he dealt with Ghio and she went about herding away the other people. Ghio hissed in annoyance as he was driven back. He grabbed his forepaws and yanked him close, the bright mass producing another fist to slam into Shard.
The soldiers had been ready to fight with Drake, but they immediately scattered when the statues in the room starting moving, springing from their spots and forming a line behind Drake. The humans sneered and growled at him, but didn't get close, too afraid of the dogs, each of which were the size of a large dragon, though still smaller than the two big ones outside. The only one that didn't move was the one Mysha was by, and the other people noticed that. They began chattering, whispering as they stayed a safe distance away. Bone. Bone. Rare. Bone. Rare. Bone. They kept repeating those two words at random, whispers like crackling fire.

Aldnoa raised an eye. An expert lie- he, a computer analyzing everything down to its minute details, could barely tell.
She nodded, and looked around. "Well, we'll find someone of your prestige a set of clothes worthy. Meanwhile, the blacksmith's is just down the road, that way. Tell him Baba sent you."

Shard barely managed to avoid the first, shrieking loudly. “You’re done hurting Ma’ait and Mysha and all dragons!” He snarled, breathing more hot flames into the beast and then tried to lift it up with his talons.
Drake could feel the presence of the dogs behind him. They were defending Mysha! “Do you see? Even your beloved sanctuary has decided Mysha is more worthy than the lot of you.” He said. The circle his hands were in glowed again and this time the magic circle changed and formed a wall. “Black wall.”
Larkes nodded appreciatively. “Thank you.” He said, nodding to the young man beside her. He picked up his bag and turned to Aldnoa and have him ansmile and a thumbs up.

Aldnoa nodded, and began to inch forward, at the same pace as Larkes, towards the blacksmith. He wanted it to appear that he was subservient to Larkes here, as to not cause panic.

Ghio screeched as he was lifted up, squirming and thrashing. However, he stopped when he saw the two statues straightening up, returning to their place as a mark appeared on their foreheads. A femur bone. The other humans started chattering and whispering, backing away. Even Ghio admitted defeat, shrinking into the little bird and immediately turning the other way, but he was heavily wounded too.
Beta watched as Mysha slowly slowly stopped, simply shaking rather than seizing. She was doing much better, but she seemed to be in pain, probably because her bones were now carved like wood now, with markings that would be seen by no one even after she was dead and gone. The soldiers in the room still whispered those two words. However, they actually lowered their heads, almost like a bow before turning and leaving. Oh, Chief would love this. So he could kill the traitor. Hopefully.

Larkes walked down towards the blacksmith, looking back up at Aldnoa. “Don’t knock over any trees or houses or anything, okay?”
“You’re not going anywhere!” Shard snarled, even though Ghio has escaped his grasp. He immediately tried to regain his grasp on Ghio and spread his wings apart, preventing him from flying away.
As the soldiers bowed, turned, and left, Drake dropped the barrier and his body went back to normal, though covered in the black markings, and he quickly walked to Mysha. “Mysha are you okay?” He asked softly, trying to support her with his frame so she wouldn’t fall over.

He let out a startling good impression of a dragon growl, but nodded. He only did this because he could see a man watching, and needed to keep the facade.
The blacksmith padded out, and almost turned tail immediately. "W-What's going on here?!"

“We are visiting from a far away town and we are oknour way to the castle. But some things happened along the way. Anyway, we were told to come see you by Baba.” He said, looking at the Blwcksmith.

Ghio screeched, little feet kicking up as he backed away. "You have no idea what just spawned down there, do you, dragon? The bone has not been chosen in over one thousand years. You should kill her before she gains status." The little bird narrowed his eyes through his mask. "Where bones are, so is death."
Mysha opened her eyes lazily, leaning into Drake. She looked disoriented, her jaw working a little as she tried to form words. "... did it work...?" She tiredly looked around. The dogs had moved? And they were... crouching? No, bowing. That was typical for the ceremony though. What was different though, was the statue she had chosen from was crouched too. Did she pick wrong? It felt... right though. He main concern was Drake though. "... you okay...?"

Charles hated this part, trying to control Snapper was like teaching a bat to see."Let's just land and rest."He sighed. The dragon simply let himself fall and, painfully, landed on top of Charles."Get off me you big oof!"

Larkes smiled and nodded slowly. “We were hoping you could craft me a suit of armor. Presumably one that’s good to meet royalty in.” He said.
“The only death that will be happening around here is yours. Mysha might have gained extraordinary power, but she’s also able to control it. Unlike you.” Shard said, unleashing tendrils of black smoke at Ghio. It was past midnight, which meant pretty soon his power would start to dwindle.
Drake nodded and held Mysha up. “I’m fine. Nothing is wrong. You did it, Mysha. You claimed the right brand for yourself. And everyone realizes it too.” He said as he looked around at the statues.

Larkes smiled and nodded slowly. “We were hoping you could craft me a suit of armor. Presumably one that’s good to meet royalty in.” He said. The blacksmith laughed. "It takes weeks to craft a specific set of armor. Tell you what though, I'll see if I have anything fitted to you." He approached, and as he did, Aldnoa gave a warning growl, protective of Larkes. The blacksmith backpedaled a step.

“Easy Aldnoa it’s okay. He’s not approaching in a threatening way.” He said, trying to appease the dragon. He looked at the smith and nodded. “It’s alrighr.”
