Mysha didn't really feel like sticking around, but she supposed it was a must for now. She wasn't really one to be around strangers, as it had been another lesson that outsiders were bad. Looking up at Ma'ait, she grumbled as her friend have her a look. The dragoness smiled, though her features literally started to droop as the metal liquefied. It seemed to skip through cracks as her muscles came into view, scales sprouting up as she had her original self back, emerald-green scales with golden claws and a row of small gold dorsal plates running from head to tail. Holding out her large paw, Mysha stepped in and allowed herself to be lifted up onto her broad shoulders.

Drake nodded approvingly. “Good.” He said, picking up his supplies and the blanket she was wrapped in. He walked back to his own dragon, stashed the supplies, and got up and onto Shard. “Alright, just follow us.” Drake said, and Shard got to all fours and started leading the way towards the hills nearby, walking on the ground.

Ma'ait followed after Shard and Drake, Mysha looking around warily from atop the dragoness. Honestly, she just felt like sleeping, but she also felt that she would get caught if she slept. There were always enemies around, waiting for the moment you let your guard down. She would stay awake for a while longer, maybe just to see where they were going and make judgement on whether they'd be staying or not, though she had a feeling that her friend would try and convince her to stay if she didn't want to.

The human yelped as the thing smiled a toothy, honestly trrrifying smiled and he ducked behind the tree again. It’s gonna eat me. It’s gonna eat me. It’s gonna eat me. He kept repeating that phrase in his head, cowering behind the tree. He reached out around the tree, grabbing the human- carefully- around the torso and lifting him up to his face. He had vocalizers, didn't he? Rather than smiling (that had definitely not worked) he needed another tactic. Again he cooed.

After a while of walking, they came to a remote cave. And it was indeed impossible to access without dragons, surrounded by rock spire and all sorts of human hazards. As they went into the cave, light quickly became dim. Drake pulled out a torch from his bag and lit it with some flint and steel he had, making it at least light enough for ten to see.
((No problem, take your time!))
The human let out a scream as he was grabbed by metallic claws and he swung his legs and fists in clearly ineffective manners. When he was pulled near the thing he tried to make himself look stronger. “Put me down you awful thing!” He said, disregarding his somewhat friendly coo.

Again the dragon tried cooing, but after realizing it wouldn't work, he growled menacingly, in an attempt to silence him. Anything, at this point.

As their dragons walked, Mysha struggled to stay conscious, brow furrowing a little as her eyes drooped. Stay awake! Resting against one of her friend's dorsal plates, she sighed before beginning to murmur, bits and pieces of what Ma'ait heard seeming to be a story. "You and your stories," Ma'ait chuckled, even though Mysha couldn't understand. She seemed to understand the time of her rumble though, and snorted, rolling her eyes again before going quiet again, still murmuring to herself to keep herself awake.

“Everything okay?” Drake asked, looking back as they trotted farther into the cave. He had heard mumbles and growls and wanted to make sure nothing was wrong.
The human gasped when the beast growled at him, going silent again. He just waited to see what would happen, now clearly shaken and very afraid.

Mysha hummed as she and Ma'ait were spoken to. "Just reminding myself of... home," she responded, fingers lazily grazing Ma'ait's scales. Her people believed in a great many things, though what was true or not was up to the listener. Seeing was believing with Mysha, but she couldn't help but be curious of the tales every since she could understand speech properly. "Telling myself the stories my mother told me. Keeps me awake."

The human gasped when the beast growled at him, going silent again. He just waited to see what would happen, now clearly shaken and very afraid. Content, Aldnoa set him down, and sat down across from him. What to do? He had no clue. A bs'd approach, then! It held out a paw, just in front of him. Perhaps some form of delicate touch? he could initiate it, too.

Drake nodded a little as SHard continued walking. "Aha. Understandable." he replied as he turned back to face the direction they were walking. After a minute more of walking, they came to a dead end. "Alright, here's where we'll stay for now." Drake said, fixing the torch in a crevice nearby so he didn't have to carry it.
The young man gulped again as the beast held out a scaled, claw-filled paw. He winced a little, looking away, not wanting to die. He could run away again, but he was paralyzed with utter fear.

Another soft grunt, coo of comfort. And even wiggled his paw slightly, just to get the ball rolling. Don't run. Don't run. Don't run.

Ma'ait reached behind her to gently grab Mysha and set her down. The woman sniffed herself and sighed. All that bleeding had her smelling strongly of copper. Bathing wasn't really a concern currently though, as she tried to make herself comfortable. Her friend also settled down, and her belly actually glowed. She'd exchanged her stomach and lungs for embers instead of flesh so the humans wouldn't get cold, the new heavier organs still sitting comfortably as she settled. And each time she breathed, Mysha felt a relieving rush of warmth to combat her already low temperature.

As he watched the mecha grunt and coo, not moving to strike a death blow, the human slowed down a bit. Taking it as a gesture of hello, the man himself raised a hand and laid it over the beast's paw. "H-H-Hello..." he stuttered out.

Drake looked over, grabbing some covers from his saddlebags as Ma'ait switched her body's composition. "Now that is a cool ability." He commented, bringing over a couple fresh blankets and setting them next to Mysha. "Here, this'll help keep you warm, especially with Ma'ait's help." He said, walking back to his own dragon and sitting down with the scaly beast.

A moment after the contact, Aldnoa danced backwards away from the man in a little dance of happiness, dangerous tail swinging and head bobbing around.

The man leaped back as the beast started swinging it's head and tail around and romping around in a sort of happy dance. He mainly leaped back just so he wouldn't get accidentally thrashed by any of the beast's moving parts, preferring not to die that day quite yet.

Mysha felt the blankets with her fingers, grasping the material and even sniffing it. Meh. It smelled like Drake. As she conducted her examination on the blankets, she blinked as Ma'ait nudged her, as if to tell her to stop. What? What if there were chemicals or something? Once she'd concluded her inspection, despite the two males having been nothing but nice, she wrapped the blankets around herself, though it looked a little funny as she tried to do it with one arm. After a moment or two of silence, she asked "... where were you running from?"

Drake settled down next to his dragon, gently rubbing Shard's head with a hand as they laid next to each other. Hearing Mysha's question, Drake smiled a bit. "From a ways Northwest of here. The capital kingdom, actually." He said as he looked at Mysha. "After I completed basic schooling I was sent on traveling expeditions to learn more and basically find myself. And that's what I did, as soon as I met Shard here." He said.

He mainly leaped back just so he wouldn't get accidentally thrashed by any of the beast's moving parts, preferring not to die that day quite yet. It finally stopped, and like a little kitten, bounced twice towards him, crouched down low. Aldnoa inched his head forward, in the same way he had done his paw.

Larkes watched the dragon bounce around then suddenly act like a little kitten. This was so odd, especially after the dragon grabbed him with his claws and basically roared at him. He cautiously moved forward, slowly reaching out his hand and eventually his hand made contact with the Dragon's head.

This time he did not move. He let Larkes stay they, eyes closed and body still. He was... calmed. No worries of his purpose clouded his mind, and no fear of the future.

Larkes watched the beast. He was unlike any dragon Larkes himself had ever met. He slowly came forward more, gently laying his other hand upon the beast and rubbing its head and chin slowly. "Wow..." He murmured, feeling the beast's metallic exoskeleton.

Aldnoa lifted his head just slightly, for the chin scratches. There wasn't anything better than this calm.

Mysha winced a little at the mention of schooling. "Smart man you must be," she murmured, fiddling with some threads from the blanket. Her lips twitched, almost like she had wanted to smile, but no. "I never actually went anywhere for schooling. Learned our equivalent of "basics" from my people, but it was all verbal. They'd not had a single book with words. Just pictures. On paper, cloth, walls, you name it." Just no letters. Didn't mean they weren't smart, as almost everyone back home had one of the most vivid memories you would ever know of.

Larkes continued to rub the dragon and when it lifted its head, he smiled a little and scratched its chin gently. This was he most incredible thing!
"Really?" The young man said, mostly surprised. "Been a while since I've met someone from one of those kinds of villages." He said, somewhat curious. "But, you still have a great handle on language and such. Nothing wrong with learning a different way." He said with a warm smile. "I'm sure your culture must be vivid in pictures, right? At least that's what I figure, based on what I've seen in our travels."
