Kace winced as the fire remained, sweat beads beginning to form on his face as the temperature rose. He was growing tired, and the intense heat was beginning to get to him. The young man huffed, his shield and sword seemingly growing heavier. Dropping the sword, he placed both hands on the shield in an attempt to hold out.
Onyx smiled at his compliment, looking back up at the larger male. "Thank you. You've been very generous yourself, and for that I'm grateful." she stated with a warm tone, and blinked slowly.

The large male smiled more, gazing into her eyes and growling happily. โWell Iโm glad I got to meet you, too. Youโre very kind and I like being able to talk to another dragon.โ He said, head getting closer to hers and curling around her slowly out of instinct.
((Weโll have to wait for Miss to continue for the others.))

Sounds good!)) Draco kept walking slowly, silently, across the forest floor, careful to avoid leaves and bushes that would make noise. He suddenly slowed to a stop, then looked back at his new friend and signaled her to be silent. He reached down, lightly picked out a dagger from his side sash, and slowly crept around the tree they were currently behind. Heโd found the deer. (Don't let me forget, lol.) (Also I think gangs have a term for that kind of person. Spider, or something.) Her eyes widened and she unsheathed her own throwing dagger. It was such a beautiful creature, with huge antlers and a lovely little white tail. She could just imagine riding it. But they needed to kill it, so they may survive. Such was the way of things. Acorn was caught by surprise, however, as an arrow as thick as her thumb and as long as her arm flew from the bushes, stabbing straight through the creature's neck. It let out a gurgled cry and fell. The arrow was black-tipped, and with black feathers at the end of the dark wood shaft. If anything spelt bad vibes, it was the a hunter unseen.

((Yeah))
Onyx didn't appear to mind Ocaran's shifting position. In fact, she found it quite comforting. "Me too, it's been a while since I've had any company." she admitted with a frown. "I've considered staying here for a while, I think I'm going to."

Alright Iโll try to remember!))
Draco was just about to run in when the arrow came flying in and striking the deer. He quickly backed up, bumping Acorn back as well, and hid behind the tree and he knelt down. He waited to see what would happen. All the people had the right to hunt animals for food, so if that was all the hunter was after he wouldnโt do anything. But if the hunter went after him or Acorn or one of their dragons he would attack without a second thought.
Asla was down by the stream, feasting on some reeds and other water plants that were growing there, seemingly enjoying herself.

Oracan rumbled loudly when she said she would stay, his loud sounds shaking the earth under the two of them, and he now completely encircled her. โThatโs wonderful, Onyx. And, i-if you want, maybe we could stay together?โ He asked with a small, hopeful purr.

She grinned and nodded slowly. "I'd love to stay with you." the much smaller dragon replied. Onyx seemed quite relaxed at the moment, a feeling of ease and comfort overcoming her. "I've been pretty lonely, so it'd be nice."

Oracan smiled as he relaxed more, reaching out a large paw to hers. โYou know.... Iโve been feeling lonely too. So Iโd love to stay with you as well.โ He said happily. He was quite happy, being so close to the female, even though he was several times larger than her.

(Thank you, I'm uber forgetful)
Acorn clung to Draco's arm, fear tight in her chest. Something deep within her told that what walked out from those trees was unnatural, and dangerous. And the monster of an ironclad that stepped from the trees was certainly terrifying. What was scariest wasn't his nearly 6 and a half feet of height, or how well built he was, or the armor he wore. No, the scariest thing was how little noise he made. The fur lining his collar, the little horns on his helmet, something should be making noise as he moved. But all was silent. He slung the huge longbow back over his shoulder, and knelt beside the dear. The beastly ironclad did not take the meat. No, he ripped the horns away, and began to crush them down into smaller twigs. He seemed to be crafting with the horns, using the pieces to create a small ring, which looked like a crown. Acorn nearly squealed as he suddenly whipped his head to face their hiding spot. It was as if he knew. He stared for a long moment, then finally looked away. He was satisfied no one was there. He went back to his crafting of a horn crown.

Draco instinctively held her close while they hid, peeking out and watching. He tried to keep her quiet by rubbing his hands on hers. He hated watching this, but knew it wasnโt uncommon. But if the giant left the meat, at least theyโd have a meal. He waited, silently listening to the curdling crunches of the antlers.

Finally this monster of a man stood and wiped his hands. The little crown was complete. However, rather than keep it, he began something peculiar. He set to creating a little hill on the ground, and upon that hill placed the crown. Something didn't feel right, especially as the ironclad simply stood once more and began to walk away, sliding his used arrow back in his quiver. Something in the air told Amber what was happening. This was what her mother had warned her of- a magic user of some kind. This looked like a dark magic, using a dead deer's antlers to summon something from the earth. "Draco." She whimpered softly.

She smiled even more, a warm feeling filling her. "Then it's decided!" Onyx stated happily, her tail moving so it was placed on top of the green male's much larger one. "I hope I can adjust." she added, half to herself.

The young man nodded and gently moved her to the side. โGet ready to run.โ He mouthed to her. He focused on the area in front of him and closed his eyes, making a symbol with his hands by his chest. He started mumbling something, though it was too quiet to hear, and he kept his body turned away from Acorn. Immediately the water in the air was condensing into droplets in the air, then from there shifted into thin lines and hardened into many tiny ice Spears. As he finished speaking the ice Spears shot at the mound and landed with incredible force and blew up the mound and the antlers. โNow.โ He said, leaping up and running the other direction, keeping his face hidden from Acorn as they ran, though it was easy to do since he got a mini head start.

He grinned as the same warm feeling spread over him and it almost looked like flowers bloomed in some of the cracks on his gigantic, earth-like frame. โIโm sure we can both adjust. Iโll provide for you as much as I can, and we can be happy.โ He said.

Acorn followed after, keeping her hand tucked tightly in his. It was the only thing keeping her running. This fear in her was knee-wobbling! What kind of monster- Fyoom! An arrow whistled by her head, planting into the wood of a tree nearby. She squealed in terror and nearly tripped, only barely keeping her balance and speeding up. It had been silent until the moment it passed by. And now that she listened, she couldn't hear their pursuer. Fear tightened her chest.

Draco grunted as the arrow whistled by. He could detect the Magic user, since he himself could use magic as well. He kept running, then when he had a chance he took a deep breath and let out a roar like a dragon, a clear call for help.
Asla was still feeding when suddenly she heard the call of her male companion. Iโm coming Draco! She thought. She dipped her head, swallowed an impressive amount of water, then lifted off the ground in flight to get to the two humans quickly.

((Our characters always end up together, lmao.))
Onyx purred. "That'd be wonderful. I'm sure we'll be just fine out here." she agreed, leaning against the larger male subconsciously. She let out a soft sigh, looking up at Ocarana, then back out at the sky.

Oracan growled loudly with happiness when her scales brushed up on his and he lightly brushed his muzzle on her. โWant to go for a walk?โ He asked, tail rubbing on hers lightly.

Oka yelped at the sound. She recognized it as a distress call, but had been about to ignore it until Asla flew for it. It must be from that boy Draco. She thought. And that means Acorn is in danger, too. No further thinking was required. She simply ran as fast as she could in the direction Asla was going.
"Draco-" Acorn choked out. She was going to cry from the fright. But no other arrows had flown by yet. And in fact, the magic signature had fallen far behind. They might be lucky, and could have outrun him. Now all the duo had to do was lose him.

She contemplated it for a moment, then nodded. "Only if you're feeling better, I don't want to drain your energy again." Onyx cooed, enjoying the tingling sensation that his touch sent across her.

Draco kept rubbing. Knowing magic was dangerous, and the user could easily move through shadows or even teleport. Their openly chance was their dragonโs. He and Asla could try and freeze the man. โJust keep running!โ He said, then smiled as a shadow passed over them and cane down in a clearing. It was Asla, and they were only twenty yards from her.

Oracan laughed and moved to lay on his belly, slowly pulling himself back from her. โIโm fine now. Letโs go for a walk.โ He said, lastly removing his tail from her. โUnless you would rather climb on my back or side or something and ride.โ He said with a smile. He was quite large and she could easily fit on him.

Onyx shrugged, her ears perking at the idea. He must be able to see over the trees... "Only if you're okay with it!" she laughed in amusement, standing up slowly and stretching. It was going to get dark sooner or later, and they should get back to a shelter or something.

Acorn felt her heart skip a beat. There, maybe 20 yards behind Asla, was Oka. They were safe! And as Acorn risked a glance backwards, the hunter was nowhere to be seen. "Draco, he's gone." She murmured, trying to pull him into a stop. She needed a rest. She needed a hug. This was all too much, and now that danger seemed gone, she wanted them now.

Oracan chuckled, getting up to his paws. At full height he was about ten feet short of some of the trees in the forest, but he was still quite big. โThen climb on!โ He said, letting out a rumbling sound of pleasure and happiness.

Onyx grinned. She crouched a bit in an attempt to gain as much momentum as possible, then jumped up onto the green dragon's side and pulled herself atop his back. "Woah, you're so big!" she breathed in awe, glancing around at the higher view.

Draco kept running until they reached Asla and he slowed down once they got there. โYes, he may be now. But he could appear out of nowhere. Letโs get to a cave first before anything.โ He said, looking at Oka. โCan Oka give us humans a ride and Asla follow? Asla canโt carry much more than water in her belly since sheโs a water dragon. But sheโs nimble.โ He said.

Acorn nodded, and just as she did Oka knelt down for them to get on. Though having done it a thousand times before, Acorn had a bit of trouble, as she was still shaking. It was clearly the first time she had been so close to death.

Draco watched Acorn struggle and he grunted. โWe donโt have time for this.โ He said, giving her a boost up befor easily jumping on behind her. โAlright. Thereโs a cave nearby, just to the West and up the hill a bit.โ He said, and Asla flew ahead to lead the way.
