(Ha ha! He gets lucky enough to stumble over good ideas sometimes. ) Kaden sat up straighter and took Katty's card. "Thank you!" he signed, tossing his pair of threes on the table. "I think I'm winning!" he announced.

Katty stuck out her tongue. "Queens please." She announced, promptly ignoring Kaden's remark.
(What else should we do with this day before we (finally) move on?)

(Mm, I'm not sure. I'm not even sure what to do after this day. :/ Ugh, Cherry, I've been so I creative lately and it's bad. No wonder we've spent so long on one day!)

Ugh. We need to come up with something!! Well, they can post the picture, then Kaden could do Katty's hair. And, I mean, we can always cook up more drama. June's anxiety totally needs it! )

(Ha ha, yes, the hair thing! And the picture! Should we skip a few days or just one? And poor little June, our low-key goal always seems to be to traumatize her poor soul. Haha!)

But it's such a good goal! Stressing her out totally entertains me. (Even though she's basically my exact personality at this point.) I'm thinking a few days. June will go to a few more schools, talk to Kaden about adult-y stuff probably, and maybe we can even touch on the plan to return to June's home.)

I'll go. It's faster, so we might actually get to rp tonight.)
After that first day where Katty got into mischief while her parents were still dead asleep, June made sure to wake with her so she couldn't get into any trouble. Or patronize the poor maid. After two more failed school visits, the Deaf school two hours out seemed more and more appealing. She was already trying to reason the commute by imagining Katty getting an early nap once they made it into the car. Of course, nothing would undo waking at such an early hour every week-day, but there was no way June would even toy with the idea of asking Kaden to move. No one moves simply based on school choices, and the popstar moved here for a reason.
Katty, of course, was undeterred by her mother's effort to keep her from exploring. She still had a lot of rooms to cover while her mommy looked at stuff on her laptop and scribbled notes on paper. It was clear the adult was busy, which was perfect for the little girl's adventure.

(Woohoo! Ha ha.)
Kaden wasn't too terribly excited about June's decision to get up at the crack of dawn, especially since she was waking early to spend time with anybody other than him. But, it must be done, he supposed. Who knew what kind of trouble a five-year-old could get into while her parents were asleep?
He was also less than excited about June's apparent consideration of driving four hours every day just to get Katty to and from school. He might have been talked into driving an hour either way, but two? That was ridiculous. Nobody needed to spend that much of their life in a car. That was ridiculous. Especially a little kid who just needed fresh air and to run around and play. But June didn't seem to want to move. They'd have to talk about that. Sooner rather than later.
In other news--good news--Kaden had spent the last day pretty much away from the girls. Well, okay, that wasn't good news in itself, but it did mean that he had finished pretty much all the recording or whatever work he and his group had needed to get done, and the demos sounded awesome. It also meant that he had been able to do a little shopping...
So today, he had woken up alone, since June had already gotten up with Katty. He sighed sadly and pulled himself out of bed, got dressed, and plodded downstairs. "Hello?" he called.

"In here!" June called from the kitchen. She was alternating between taking grimacing sips of coffee -she hated the taste, but enjoyed the caffeine when having to wake up early- and looking through the website of another school close to Kaden's place. The website was crap, but they seemed pretty nice. It was a montessori school, that was paced towards the individual with smaller classes that included a larger age group. Tuition was free based on a few conditions that June was sure she could meet, and they seemed to be enrolling year round, since they didn't have many kids just yet.
Katty, of course, didn't hear Kaden's call. She did however see him leave his and mommy's room, and she snuck past him and opened up yet another random door, closing it slowly behind her. The walls were covered with this weird textured foam, and there were instruments and sheet music literally everywhere. The little girl understood music a little more than other deaf kids her age, but still didn't get to enjoy it much. Even still, she was able to identify all the instruments in the room, at least five guitars, both a piano and a keyboard, a banjo, a ukulele, and a huge drum kit, complete with the clear box surrounding three-quarters of it. This place was really cool!

Kaden followed the sound of her voice. He smiled when he saw her perched in the kitchen, grimacing every time she took a sip and looking cutely disheveled as she was scribbling down notes. "Good morning, beautiful." He stopped by her side and leaned down to kiss her cheek. He grinned. "Not gonna lie, I really wanted to say that to somebody someday," he told her, pulling over a chair to sit beside her. He wrapped his arms around her torso and rested his chin on her shoulder, fully intending to distract her. "Whatcha doing?" he asked, nuzzling her neck lightly.
June was entirely too distracting for him to notice a sneaky preschooler tiptoeing around his musical instruments.

June smirked a bit. "Good morning, love." She answered, taking a sip of the now slightly cooled drink. Gosh coffee was horrible. Why did anyone ever think it should be a drink? "Not gonna lie, I really wanted to say that to you." She parroted. "Also, even fancy coffee is horrible. I think I just need a I.V. to put straight caffeine into. I won't become a junkie, I swear!" At his question, she looked down at the papers. "It's a terribly disorganized pro/con list for the next school I'm visiting." At this point, the odd jumble of papers was useless to anyone but her. Not that anyone could actually read her handwriting anyway.

"Aww, look at you, being all romantic for me," Kaden joked, chuckling quietly. "Oh, sure you won't. You said the same thing about Twizzlers when we were twelve. And about 'Friends' when you first started watching it." Ugh, that had been terrible. He hadn't been able to watch a decent tv show for months, it always had to be 'Friends.' He looked at the list. "That's a long list. How long have you been awake, exactly?"

Her lips quirked a bit. "Friends is the best tv show ever made and you know it!" June answered, mostly sarcastic. She did still watch reruns though. Who doesn't? "And twizzlers at least taste good. Unlike coffee." The latter was mentioned almost like a curse word, June wrinkling her nose a bit. What time did she get up again? It was ten, Katty had got up two hours after her... "Five hours." She answered, a bit hauntingly. "So how about that caffeine drip?"

Her practically physical hatred even of the word coffee made Kaden laugh. He shook his head and kissed her jaw before leaning back. Then his jaw about hit the floor. "Five hours?! Are you crazy!? You let her get up at five? You got up at five?! Why?!" He could hardly have been more shocked if somebody had told him that Donald Trump was running for President. Oh wait. (Hee hee, I'm funny. Anyway.) He groaned. "Sounds like a caffeine drip might not be such a bad idea for you. Or you could just sleep in a little more!"
(My parents literally had a rule that my little brother couldn't get out of bed until 7:00, because otherwise he'd wake them up way too early so he could play. Apparently he used to just lie in bed and watch the clock, waiting for it to be 7:00. Lol.)

You little brother and I definitely share some plights, I've never been able to sleep in. Saturday mornings always start a seven, no matter how late I stayed up.)
June started laughing, close to maniacal, since shed gotten up so early. "For one, I couldn't sleep, two, I wanted to have a little bit of time before Katty got up, and three, she was up by seven. Did you want me to put her back to bed?" Glancing at the cup of coffee, she added, "If I tell you sleep is for the weak, do I get a prize? Preferably in the form of caffeine.?
Also, can we just say a prayer for America and acknowledge how royally screwed we are if either one of them become president? (With getting into opinions, of course.))

The laugh actually frightened Kaden a little. He grimaced for a second. Then smiled slightly. "Well, that might not have been so bad," he argued. "Assuming she would have gone back to sleep." He laughed at her again and shook his head. "I think we might need to cut you off," he said, reaching for her cup, "before we develop any serious problems. Really, June, go back to bed if you're so tired. I can handle Katty for awhile. Right, Katty?" He looked around the kitchen--but Katty was gone. "Uh...I mean, once I find her, I can handle her." He frowned a bit in concern. "I better go find her." He kissed June's cheek one last time and pushed his chair back, standing up and pausing for a moment to stretch. She had sort of put him to shame. Her day was practically half over already, and he had only just rolled his lazy self out of bed.
(Ha ha. It will certainly be...interesting. And tumultuous.)

I can't believe you haven't seen The Princess Bride. Go watch it. Now. It's on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, On Demand. Everywhere.)
June mocked horror as he pulled her drink away. "You're a sadist." She muttered, still teasing somewhat. And... Oh gosh... Of course Katty was gone! She needed something to do. She should've gotten Katty a craft or just a million pieces of paper with scissors and glue. Something to keep her stationary and occupied. "When you find her, let me know, okay?" June asked. "I'm almost done here."

(Oh no, I've seen it. Ha ha. I just don't like it very much, so I haven't committed many of the lines to memory.)
"Now now," Kaden scolded. "That's no way to talk to the person who is intervening to prevent you from forming an addiction. I'll let you know when I find her," he promised, stepping around her chair. He took a swig from her cup of coffee, then set the mug in the sink. "Wish me luck!"

That's even worse. Watch it again.)
Katty started with the piano, new territory. Mommy had a guitar she never played, and that was fun and all, but she was pretty sure all guitars were the same, and she wanted something different. Pressing down on each key made the huge instrument vibrate with the string being pulled, and Katty was completely enthralled watching how it worked. She found out that if she kept one hand on the piano itself while pressing the keys, she could feel the difference between some of the chords.

(Haha! Bossy bossy! You can't tell me what to do. Besides, I read the book, hoping that would help, but boy it did NOT.) The noise made finding Katty a lot easier. Kaden simply followed the sound the way Dorothy had followed the yellow brick road. He pushed the door open and smiled, lingering in the doorway to watch her for a minute. What a smart kid I have. Look at her feeling vibrations. He stepped forward a second later and waved when he came into Katty's line of sight. "Hi. What are you doing?"

Despite Kaden being in her line of sight, and waving, she still jumped. The kid was just like that. If she thought she was hiding, no one could find her, right? "Hi Daddy! I'm playing piano." She answered. Instead of using the actual sign for piano, mock playing the keys in the air, Katty scaled a few keys, one after the other.

Katty grinned, nodding. "You make music, right?" She didn't really understand it, but something to do with music, she was sure. And he was in the papers sometimes, so people liked him a lot.

Bro. Katty was already doing that when you walked in. ) Katty grinned, nodding. This was really cool! Each key was connected to a wire that shook, making sound, which Katty understood, mainly from Mommy's guitar.

(Ack, sorry! I got confused somehow in there...)
"Have you seen any of the other instruments?" Kaden asked. "Or do you just like the piano?" He scooted her over and sat on the bench next to her. It had been awhile since he'd plunked around on the piano.

"Mommy has a guitar." Katty answered. "But that's it." She tapped a few more key lightly, not really developing a pattern of any sort.
