Katty yawned a bit, considering. "What games do you have?" She asked curiously. It would be nice to play some new ones. (Let me know when you're leaving so I don't wait too long to go to bed, okay? We haven't had a "live" rp session in awhile, I don't want to end it too early by going to bed right now.) "Let's go see," Kaden signed. He swung her into his shoulders again and carried her upstairs to her room. He'd stuffed the few games he had into the guest bedroom. Still, maybe one of them would catch babygirl's eye.

Sorry, Monopoly, Mancala.... He had chess too, but Katty pretty much only played that with her friend Marcus. (Or was it Matt? That one character we had and never used again.) "You pick." She declared finally, tapping him on the head. She liked being on his shoulders. Mommy kept joking it'd be the only way she would ever be tall.

(Hm, I don't remember what the kid's name was...)
Kaden took the pat on his head as a signal to pick the game. "How about..." They would need something not too difficult, but not so simple that it wasn't at all challenging. "Go Fish?" he asked, holding up the deck of cards for Katty to see.

Katty smiled. They could play a thousand games with cards! "Okay." She agreed. Plus, it was easier to play sign-wise, given the communication gap that was quickly closing nonetheless.

Kaden carried Katty back downstairs, cards in hand. He stumbled right and left as he moved down the corridor, just to make the ride a little more interesting for Katty. "June!" he bellowed, almost surprised his voice didn't echo through the house. "We have brought Go Fish! Where shall we play?!"

June laughed. "I mean, if you're very adventurous we can try to play in the hot tub..." She suggested. "But I think the kitchen table is fine, or the living room floor." She answered.
Katty squealed as Kaden bumped back and forth down the hallways. Honestly, sometimes it was like adults couldn't walk in straight lines! But, it was more fun this way.

(That's all right! Life happens!)
Kaden laughed. "Of all the games we could play in the hot tub, Go Fish isn't really at the top of my list," he told June with a wink. He decided not to sign that out for Katty. "Kitchen table it is!" he added. He carried the little girl to the kitchen and set her down on the table. "Pick a chair, kiddo. And get ready to lose!" he signed, laughing evilly.
(LOL! I love how Katty basically sees Kaden as a clumsy and relatively useless oversized child who just doesn't have her smarts, but she likes him anyway because he's kind of fun and he makes Mommy smile, so he must be okay.)

I try to imagine what kids think about adult's odd behaviors that they either don't get yet or aren't really paying attention to. I'm glad it entertains! ) Katty stuck her tongue out, holding the card deck with a vice. She couldn't quite hold the deck well enough to shuffle or deal, but would do well enough holding her hand for the game. Kaden was silly, always. In ways mommy tended to not be unless he was around. He made her smiley all the time, which was really good. Katty didn't like it when she got sad. "Scrabble might work -if the pieces float." June quipped easily. She grabbed the deck away, shuffling a few times with a bridge before seeing where the jokers were.

(Hi!) (And yes, it never fails to entertain! Seriously, Katty may be one of the funniest characters I have ever read.)
Kaden just chuckled at June and pulled out a chair to sit down. He shook his head as he watched her shuffle. "I still don't get how you can do that." He rubbed his hands together. "Here we go!" he signed.

(Hello!!)
(Aw! Thanks. I don't feel like I'm that good a writer, so that's high praise.)
June smirked. "I don't know what to tell you Kaden. It's muscle memory." She did the bridge a few more times, just to annoy Kaden of course, before dealing seven cards to each person.

(Hahaha. She always makes me laugh!)
Kaden rolled his eyes. Punk, messing with him like that. "Okay, Katty, are you ready?" He picked up his cards and looked through them. "Look at us, having a family game night," he said with a smile.

Katty held her card close to her chest, not letting anyone see. She took Goldfish very seriously. Unlike some people... Namely Mommy and Matt.
June hummed her agreement. "Did you think you'd be doing something like this six months ago?" She asked with a smile.

Poor Katty; life can be a struggle sometimes.
Kaden smiled and reached over to rub a thumb over June's cheek. "I did not. But I'm glad." Of course he hadn't thought he would be here six months ago. Six months ago he was primarily concerned with trying to convince the agency's new intern that no, guyliner was not "in," and even if it were, there was no way he was going to try it. It was fine for Captain Hook and t might be fine for emo rockers, but Kaden Wilde was not going to touch the stuff. Honestly, weren't his eyes pretty enough on their own? That had been an interesting conversation. "Okay!" He pulled a pair of cards out of his deck and lay them on the table. "Who wants to go first?" he signed.

I'm so sorry! This will be the last time, I swear. I can't seem to have time to get on in the evening.)
Oh my gosh... June would've never let him live it down. Ever. Seeing Kaden wear eye-liner would've wonderful.
Katty motioned to herself, obviously, because she was going to go first. No question.
Sorry for shortness. Trying to post while doing school.)
(I had a random thought while reading a book that had a woman who was less than thrilled to be pregnant, with an unplanned second pregnancy where she tells her husband she's pregnant by flat out punching him in the jaw and throwing a test over her shoulder. I think this fits June very well.)

(Cherry, don't worry, it's fine! Live your life! Ha ha.) June liked to make fun, didn't she? Poor Kaden. Oh well. He had picked her, after all, and he still liked her anyway, very much. He laughed at Katty. "Okay, baby. You can go first!" he signed. (HA HA HA! I mean, the punch to the face is a little hurtful, but otherwise that's really funny! Gotta love those little "Oops" babies. One of my best friends is one, after all.)

All three of my siblings and I. Three kids in four years. And then, my mom and dad made sure there would be no more babies. ...A year later we adopted my cousin. ) I just think it would be a really funny scene. Of course, she'd love the baby, but I think there's this "Nope!" moment tha would be funny. Katty asked June for an eight, and actually got one on the first question. "Match!" She declared happily, doing a lopsided, almost one handed version of the sign.

(LOL! Your poor parents! All kinds of surprises in their life, huh? ) (I agree. It would be awesome to rp. We should probably keep a running list of the scenes we need to do. Kaden trying to do Katty's hair; June's "Nope!" pregnancy moment. Haha.) Kaden smiled at her. "Good job!" he signed back. "Okay, Mommy's turn..." He wasn't entirely sure whether or not he would be understood, since he was still a novice signer and now he was holding a handful of cards. He wondered if jumbled signing was almost the same thing as mumbled speaking.

Kaden was right on the nose. Except, it was fairly common in signing. His jumbled mess would mostly be understood by context. Whether or not he could read June and Katty's signing would be a different story...
June asked Kaden for an eight, and reached over to tickle Katty when her daughter tried to peek at her cards.
(We do need to keep a list!)

Kaden sighed and handed over his eight card, smiling at the laughing Katty. "You're both pretty good at this game."

(I know! How crazy is that?! Haha.)
Kaden's eyes widened. "Wha--?" He twisted in his seat to look at the traitorous, reflecting window behind him. He spun back to settle an accusing gaze on June. "You little cheater!"

"What?!" Kaden signed and groaned, settin his cards facedown on the table. "You're both cheating? This is ridiculous! Who taught you how to cheat?" he asked wagging a finger comically first at one girl, then the other. His daughter was a clever girl, though, he did have to give her that...

Katty giggled happily, finger spelling "Mattie." The boy had taught her to use logic to get advantage. He claimed this wasn't cheating, but Katty was never sure.
At the same time, June answered, "I swear it wasn't me! I was just entertained that you didn't notice..."

"Entertained that I didn't--somos you think I'm slow, do you?!" Kaden asked June with faux indignance, sitting up straighter and quirking a dark eyebrow. He focused on Katty. "Well! Mattie is a punk! That's what I think about that. I don't know if I can play under these conditions. How will I ever win?!" he cried, throwing up his hands for emphasis.

Kaden shook his head as he looked across the table at Katty. "No, thank you. Let's keep playing, but no more cheating, you two!" he warned. He picked up his cards again, trying his best this time to hide them close to his chest. "Okay, has anyone got...and twos?"

Katty shook her head, smirking a bit in a face that matched Kaden's on occasion. Daddy was gonna go down!
"I have one." June answered, tossing it in the air. She was still pretty free with her cards. Katty got so excited whenever she won that June didn't really mind her sneaking a peek during a low-key family game.

Yeah...that was a change that Kaden would probably try to instate. Sure, it was great when Katty got to win, but she wouldn't win all the time, and he didn't want her to think that it was okay to cheat--even just a little bit, because who knew when and how the definition of "a little bit" might change--in order to win. There was the chance that he was only overthinking, of course, but he thought it would at least be worth talking about.
He tried to catch the card that June had flicked at him out of the air, but had to pick it up off the table instead. "Great!" He paired the card with his own two card and discarded them. "Now, do I go again, or is it Katty's turn now?" he asked. "Daddy hasn't played this game since he was only a little bigger than you, Katty."
