Plot
Having been best friend's since 1st grade, Sutton Muller and Riley Capps are inseparable. Staying at each other's house almost every other night, they became apart of each other's families. They've finally gotten through high school and are super excited for the summer. But when Levi Muller, Sutton's brother, comes back from college for the summer, will things change between the two girls? Will Levi admit that he has feelings for Riley? Does she feel the same way? Will they end up together? If Levi and Riley do end up together, will they be able to tell Sutton? Will Sutton accept them together? We'll find out (;
Main Characters
Levi Muller / 20 / Male
Standing at 6'3", Levi is a tall and rather buff guy, not too big and not too small. He's got short curly hair and a strong jaw line and is rather tan from all the time he spends outside. He's got brown eyes under his bushy eyebrows, with a nose that compliments his face. His lips are full and he has some freckles that you can hardly notice around his nose. Levi is very outgoing and confident, not caring what anyone thinks about him. His confidence can come off as cocky sometimes. Levi know's he's good looking and is rather popular with the ladies. He's never really had a girl friend but he's seen with random girls rather often. He can be seen as a heart breaking and a player, but he's a good guy at heart. He loves going out to play football with his guy and swims a lot, whether it be in his family's pool or the river or the lake. He dresses well and likes to look his best, but there are someday where he just wants to wear sweatpants, and that is it. He loves his family, his mother and his little sister, and is extremely overprotective of them. After losing his dad, he's been the man around the house, but still likes to have fun at parties and get togethers with all of his guy friends. cal
Riley Capps / 18 / Female Riley is a rather short woman, standing at only 5'4. Despite this, she has a powerful build and an athlete's body. Her skin is somewhat pale. Riley has bright blue eyes and somewhat short golden blonde hair that doesn't fall far past her shoulders. Her skin isn't marred by many marks, though she has a scar across the back of her right hand. What Riley lacks in size, she makes up for in personality. Riley is very outgoing and adventurous. She can be quite stubborn and worries about things more than necessary. Riley can be reckless and doesn't always think about consequences, and needs someone to slow her down and remind her of that sometimes. She's deathly loyal to her friends, and threatening or hurting them will make you a permanent enemy of hers. With those that she cares about, she reveals a caring and sweet side. She'd do anything to make sure her friends and family are happy and healthy and wants to take care of them. She does, however, try to hide her own suffering to appear strong to the others, though she has been known to crack and share when she's weak and needs help once in a while. If she's with someone that she can totally trust, Riley will show that she's sensitive below her exterior and can sometimes be overemotional. .
Side Characters
Sutton Muller / 18 / Female
Like her brother, Levi, for a girl, Sutton is rather tall. Standing at 5'10", she is a rather slender girl, with curves that compliment her body, but don't stand out as much. Despite not being the most shapely, she is very pretty, with a dark, brown long bob and straight across bangs and light brown eyes. Sutton's hair is naturally curly but she likes to keep it pin straight. Her nose is little, with cute little freckles all along her nose. Her lips are plump and a light pink color. She is super bubbly and outgoing, taking after her brother in that aspect. She's a little nerd at heart, but only lets her best friend and family see that side of her. She likes to run and swim and used to play volleyball for her high school. cal
Carson Johnson / 18 / Male Carson is an average sized guy, with a height of 5'9". He was thin but toned, with messy blonde hair and light green eyes. He's not tan but not pale, the perfect in between. He comes off as a cool guy at first, but their is something sneaky about him. He acts all big and bad around other guys, but around girl's he is pursuing, he is nothing but sweet and caring. Don't be fooled, he is anything but sweet and caring. If you thought Levi was a player, just watch this guy. cal
Brittany Hart / 18 / female Brittany looks like the stereotypical popular mean girl in any movie. She's tall and slim with flawless tan skin, golden blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. She keeps up with the latest fashion and seems to wear a new outfit everyday. Her personality is just as cliche as her looks. A charming and manipulative person, Brittany knows what she wants and isn't used to not getting what she wants. She's very flirty with the guys, not caring whether or not they have girlfriends, and will do whatever it takes to get rid of her enemies. She has no problem faking sympathy or innocence, but will go to extreme lengths to get rid of anyone she considers a 'threat'. .

Pulling up to his family's house in his black 2001 Jeep Wrangler, Levi gave a little smile. He had missed his family while he was away at college. Sure, he had visited them on Christmas and Thanksgiving, but he didn't get to see them as much as he would've liked to. Putting the car in part and turning it off, he gets out and grabs his two duffle bags out of the back seat. He was wearing a light blue, long sleeved button up with the sleeves rolled to his elbows that fit him well, tight in all the right places, skinny khaki pants, and plain white Vans. Reaching the door, He opened it and announced himself. "Mom! Sutton! I'm home," he called out, dropping his bags by the door to go find him. Levi almost didn't seen his sister running at him at time as she launched herself at him. He gave a little oof, almost falling backwards and hugged her back. "Hey little sis," he said. His mother peaked her head out from the kitchen and gave him a big smile, walking towards him and giving him a hug as well. Pulling away from the two, he furrowed his eyebrows and frowned. "Where is Riley? Aren't you guys attached at the hip?" he asked his sister. He hadn't seen Riley since he first left for his second year of college and she was like a little sister to him. Sutton stuck her tongue out at him and said, "She's coming over now, dumby."

Riley had eagerly been waiting for Levi to come home for the summer. She was almost as close to him as she was to Sutton and she'd missed him. Of course, she'd never admit that to Levi. She didn't need to give him anything to tease her about. She'd been quietly waiting for her chance to show up at her friend's house while she finished up the chores that her mom had left for her that morning. When she finished her chores, she slipped out of the house, glad that the twins were downstairs and nobody else was home to question where she was going or when she'd be home or if they could come too. It wasn't a long walk to the house where her friends lived, and Riley smiled when she saw Levi's car in the driveway. Great, he'd beat her here. She sped up a bit and opened the door. She'd knock on most doors, but not here. Sutton's house was like her second home. "Hey, what's with that car in the driveway? I don't think I've seen it before," she said, needing to tease Levi about how long it'd been since they saw one another. But her straight face didn't last long and she walked over to give him a hug. She was much shorter than both siblings, making any time she spent with either of them look comical, but she'd gotten used to it over the years. "Nice to see you again, Levi," she said, hugging him for a moment before letting go. She'd grown up a little over the past year or so, and being a high school graduate (and an actual adult) only added to the new feeling of maturity she had. cal(Sorry it took so long, I'm playing overwatch)

Right on cue, Levi heard the door open and Riley's voice. As she teased him, he smiled a million dollar smile at her and pulled her into a bear hug. "Hey Riles," he laughed. "Look at you, you haven't grown at all! How does it feel to still be short," he teased her back, smirking. She looked more mature than last year. Riley had always been really cute but he'd never admit it to anyone, not wanting to be questioned by his sister and teased by Riley herself.
Sutton rolled her eyes at Levi. "Wow, and you don't even give your bestest friend in the entire world a hug anymore," she pouts a little.
Levi shook his head at the two of them and then turned towards the kitchen. "Any of you hungry? I learned to cook a little this year, I can make something for you all," he suggested, slipping into the kitchen to see what they had in the fridge that he could make.
(Sorry, it's short, but I have to go. I'll respond to your never reply when I get home (: )

Riley rolled her eyes at Levi's comment. "I'm not sure. How does it feel to still be towering over normal people?" she asked. Okay, that might be a little bit of an exaggeration about his height, but it was the best thing she could think of at the moment. When her hug with Levi ended, she turned to hug Sutton. At his mention of cooking, Riley slipped away from her best friend and joined Levi in the kitchen. She knew a little bit about cooking, and had a few recipes memorized for when it was her turn to cook dinner at home, but she was curious to see what Levi had managed to learn about cooking. "Well, I'm supposed to be making lunch for the twins, but they're 13. They can feed themselves," she said, lowering herself down in a kitchen chair. Last time they'd tried to cook, they'd almost burned down the house, but Riley was just going to hope that was a one time thing. She glanced over at Sutton. "What do you think? Should we let him cook for us? Or will he try to poison us? Or will his food just be inedible?" she teased. She actually trusted Levi to make something delicious, but she couldn't pass up the opportunity to mess with him. She texted the twins to tell them that she was out with friends and that they'd have to make themselves lunch. Then she sent a second text telling them not to use the oven. She still didn't trust them. "So, what'd we miss, college boy? Any crazy parties? Any cute college girls?" she asked. She was looking forward to his stories from the year, hoping that he might let some tips slip. She was a little nervous about going off to college herself next year, but also slightly relieved to get away from her family. They were cool and all, but with all of her siblings it was hard to find any quiet time. That might be part of the reason she spent so much time at Sutton's house. cal

Letting out a chuckle, he asked, "How are the twins? Still full of energy? I can't wait to see them!." He smiled as he found some spaghetti noodles and pulled out a pot to boil water in. He had a secret ingredient that he added to his sauce for spaghetti and wanted to know how the girls would like it. Levi pouted teasingly at Riley as she said he might poison them. "Don't give me any ideas Capps," he called her by her last name, shooting her a smirk. Sutton laughed and sat by her best friend.
Starting on the sauce, he added all the ingredients and poured the noodles into the boiling water. Stepping back to let it cook for a little, he leaned back on the counter, folding his arms around his torso, showing off his muscular arms. "Yeah, actually there were a couple of awesome parties this year. Campus is right by a lake so I spent a lot of time there, you know how I like to swim," he told them. "And I don't have girlfriends Riley, you know this, but there are definitely some hotties running around," he winks. College had been amazing for him so far, his grades were doing well and his social life was awesome. He wasn't in any frat but he was friends with so many people, he was always invited to all of the cool parties.
"You girls better not go to any parties when you're in college though," Levi adds, glaring at them, "I'll know if you do." Sutton stuck her tongue out at him again and said, "So we aren't allowed to go to parties, but you are? That doesn't seem fair! I'm going to go to more parties than you." Sutton had always been super outgoing and Levi knew she would make many friends, but he was worried about her. Worry flashed in his eyes, but he didn't say anything, turning to stir the sauce. He had always been there to protect her and everyone at her high school knew not to mess with Sutton and even Riley because they didn't want to get a fist in the face.
Draining the water from the cooked noddles, he sets out three plates for them, serving them the noodles and pouring the sauce on them. "Ta-da, Levi's famous spaghetti for the lovely madam Sutton and her trusty sidekick, Riley," he teases them, making sure to make extra fun of Riley. "Tell me what you think!" he says excitedly, watching their faces as they brought the food up to their mouths.

Riley rolled her eyes. "It's ridiculous! Now that Elijah is an actual adult with an actual job and a wife and stuff, I'm suddenly the most responsible one. Which means I'm the one that has to make sure they don't burn anything down," she said, rolling her eyes. Riley was the middle child in a family with seven kids. She really did love her siblings, but the idea of spending the rest of the summer making sure the twins didn't break anything wasn't exactly how she wanted to spend her last summer before college. Plus, they were teenagers. It wasn't her fault that that were untrustworthy troublemakers. "If you wanna see them, go ahead. In fact, I can let them spend all summer with you, Levi. I'm sure my family won't mind," she teased. Even if Levi liked the twins, they'd drive him crazy eventually. "Aw, you love us too much to poison us," Riley said, putting an arm around Sutton's shoulders. "I mean, she's your sister so you have to love her. I'm just too cool to poison. Your life would be boring without me," she pointed out. She thought for a moment. "Plus, I would haunt you forever and ever if you poisoned me." That'd surely be enough to convince him not to poison her. Riley watched him begin to make lunch, her eyes lingering on him and the muscles in his arms a little too long when he leaned against the counter. That was... weird. She'd never had her eyes linger on him like that. She played it off as trying to look at whatever was behind him, her eyes snapping back to his face when he began speaking again. She smiled a bit at his stories from college. "Parties and swimming. Sounds like fun. Did you do any actual studying?" she teased. Swimming and partying was fun, but it wouldn't get him As in his classes. She rolled her eyes. "Of course I know how you are, Levi. I asked if there were any cute girls, not if you dated any cute girls. But more importantly, are there any cute guys?" she asked with a laugh, turning and nudging Sutton. "Or are you gonna play that overprotective big brother card and tell us no dating either?" she asked. Riley had plenty of brothers and Finn was definitely overprotective, but if Levi also wanted to watch out for her, she wasn't going to turn that down. He was a good guy to have on her side if she had a problem. "Yes, Dad," Riley said, shaking her head when he said they weren't allowed to go to any parties. "A little disappointing though. I was hoping you could introduce us to the cute guys and tell us where the best parties were happening," she teased, knowing that he was only saying that because he was worried about his sister. Riley didn't blame him. She was protective of Sutton too. And Levi. Really, Riley was protective of everyone she cared about it, even if she knew she couldn't protect them from everything. She caught the flash of worry in his eyes but didn't say anything, instead pulling out her phone to read a text from one of the twins. She replied to Nick before slipping her phone back into her pocket. "I'm just a sidekick now?" Riley asked, gasping as if he'd offended her. "That hurts, Levi. I thought you had more faith in me han just making me the sidekick." She grabbed her fork and mixed the sauce into the noodles before getting some on her fork and bringing it to her mouth. There was a little sauce on her lips as she set her fork down and turned to him, a large smile on her face. "That's good, and I'm still alive. So, definitely bonus points for that. Anyway, I normally use the sauce in a jar from the grocery store and this is a lot better," she said with a laugh. Oh, she'd missed Levi. cal

"Oh, how is Elijah and his wife? I haven't seen them in forever," he commented, leaning back on the counter. "And hey now, I never said I wanted to take care of them the entire summer," he put his hands up in defeat. How she managed to live in a house with seven children was beyond him, but Levi was even more impressed with Riley and her patience, even though he knew sometimes her patience ran out. He'd seen her first hand lose her patience with him and even Sutton, but that never hurt his feelings. Levi knew that a person could only take so much before exploding. Levi rolled his eyes. "Yeah right. I could poison you, but I think there are better ways to torture you," he fired back, giving them an evil smile. After hearing that she would haunt him, his eyes widened mockingly. "Oh please, don't even put me through that. Having to constantly be around you would make me want cry. And I don't cry," he says in fake horror. But it was true, he didn't cry. He hadn't cried since he was 10, when his father passed away. He wasn't one for letting his emotions out. There was no use, he didn't want his mother and sister to ever see him down. Levi had stepped in to the father role, making simple foods for Sutton's lunch, taking her to and from school, while Riley tagged along, and he had even been a shoulder to cry on for his mother and sister. "Of course I study. How do you think I have a 3.85 GPA," he laughs. Sure he didn't get straight As but he got mostly As and he was proud of that because college was hard. The topic switches to boys and his heart stops for a second. Something in Levi felt off when he heard Riley talking about other guys and if they were cute. Why is she thinking like that? She can't date, he thought to himself, frowning. "Oh no, no boys for the either of you," he said firmly, the overprotective side coming out. "I don't want you girls going for a stupid, immature college boy. I will always be protective of you both," he states, looking at both of them through narrow eyes. "There will be no introductions of any sort, sorry to disappoint you ladies Lightening up, he gives another smirk to Riley and he sits down beside her. "Yes, a sidekick," he confirms. Watching her take a bite, he saw that she got some sauce on her lip and she smiled at him. Without thinking, he wipes the sauce away with his thumb and says, "I'm glad you like it Riles." .

(I'm gonna do a little paragraph for Sutton)
As Riley nudged her, Sutton smiled. She too wanted to know if there were any cute boys out there for her and her best friend. But she knew that Levi would lecture them on how boys were bad and that we should stay away from them. She let out a little sigh. It wasn't fair that he got to go and have fun with other girls but we were not allowed to see other guys. She loved her brother, but he was overbearing sometimes, always scaring boys away when ever they came and talked to her. She knew that he only did it because he didn't want boy taking advantage of her, boys like himself. Why did he have to be such a player? He was nice and all, but he never had one girl for too long, leaving behind a trail of broken hearts. She looked at Riley and saw how happy she was that he was back. Sutton knew that she would never let anyone hurt Riley, no matter what. Guys like her brother wouldn't go near her best friend if she had anything to say about it. Watching the two banter back and forth confirmed that they would always see each other as siblings, nothing more. Right? At times, Sutton envied the relationship between Levi and Riley because she knew she wasn't Riley's only best friend, but Levi's as well. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she heard her brother sternly tell them that they should never go after "stupid, immature college boys." Laughing a little, she put her two cents in. "Well, don't that make you a stupid, immature guy then, since you're in college," Sutton added in, smirking at her brother.

"They're good. They still come to visit us a lot," she said. Her brother and his wife lived only a few minutes away from Riley, but they still saw each other almost everyday. "Aw, come on. It'd be fun! You could go live at my house with the twins and, uh, others, and I could live here with Sutton and your mom," she suggested. "Or maybe I could just move in here," she joked. She knew that wouldn't happen, even though she slept over enough that this could easily be considered her second home. "Torture me, huh?" Riley asked, raising an eyebrow. "Come on, you know I won't go down without a fight," she said, shaking her head. "I'm sorry, Levi. I don't make the rules. If you kill me, I'm gonna haunt you for the rest of your life." But she didn't want to see Levi cry. It would be heartbreaking to her. He always seemed so strong and confident and she'd hate to see him break down like that. As long as she'd known Levi, she wasn't sure she'd ever seen him break down like that and the image made her upset. So she just pushed it out of her mind. "Yep. Haunt you for the rest of your life," she said, pausing slightly between each of the last words to let them soak in. "Oh, how I missed how humble and modest you are," she teased. "But seriously, that's a good GPA. Im impressed." Riley's was higher, but she was in high school. She knew college was a lot harder so she kept her mouth shut. She was actually amused by Levi's protectiveness towards her and Sutton, and honored that he cared about her that much. She also didn't think he was serious about not dating, so she didn't think too much of it, only turning to Sutton when her best friend spoke. "He is a stupid immature college guy. The difference is that Levi obviously won't date either of us so he doesn't see it being an issue," she explained. At least, that's what she assumed. Levi had to know that he was exactly the kind of guy that he wanted to protect the girls from. A heartbreaker. "I think I'm a little better than a sidekick," she argued. Then she looked over at Sutton. "What do you think? We're partners and Levi is our sidekick? Ooh! Or our butler! I mean, he did make us lunch," she pointed out. Her eyes widened suddenly when Levi reached over to wipe the sauce from her mouth, and she looked back down at her plate to hide the small blush. Seriously! What had gotten into her? Normally she'd tease him for touching her like that, not blush. She looked back up, the pink fading slightly from her cheeks as she attempted it anyway. "Can't keep your hands off me, huh?" she asked. cal

"Well I'm going to have to see them some time," he suggested. "And maybe I'm stay in your room," he teased her. Levi had gotten to know everyone in Riley family and cared for them all. He knew she had Finn and he was grateful for that because he looked after her when Levi couldn't, and that's all that mattered to him. The twin were always fun to play with and sometimes he would take them to go play football or swim. He miss those days where everyone would come over for barbecues and dinners and he wondered if they still did those occasionally. He knew his mother was always busy, being a surgeon at the nearby hospital. She worked non stop and that's the only reason his family was still well off after his father died. He was even surprised that he even saw her when she got home, but Levi knew she had taken the afternoon off just so she could see him.
Levi raised an eyebrow to her. "You couldn't hurt be even if you tried Capps. You're too small and I would just tickle you," he laughed. And he rolled his eyes. "You only want to haunt me for the rest of my life because you're obsessed with me," winking at her. Honestly though, he wouldn't mind having Riley around forever. When she was here, it felt complete, and he didn't know why. I guess he could admit that she had become one of his really good friends, maybe even a best friend. He couldn't imagine their life without her. What if Sutton had never talked to this small blonde back when she was in first grade? He didn't want to think about it. Riley was good for Sutton, everyone knew it because without Riley, Sutton might have turned out to be the girl version of him.
He smiled a little at Riley's approval of his grades. He knew she was smart and that she had always done well in high school and he was sure she would do well in college. After hearing Sutton and Riley's comments, he nodded. "Exactly, I am kinda stupid, maybe not that immature but sometimes stupid. That's why I don't date," he shrugged, knowing he was not the best example of a good guy when it came to girls. For some reason, he couldn't date. Whenever he tried, he would start comparing them, but he had no idea who he was comparing them to. In the end, it never worked out and he was back to being a bachelor. It didn't bother him too much because be had all of his guys, and when he came home, he had Sutton and Riley.
Mockingly, he put his left hand behind his back and he look a towel and draped it over his right arm and acted like a butler. "I am at you service m'ladies," he said in a British accent. Riley looked down after he got the sauce off and he wondered if he had done something wrong. Turning back to his food, he heard what she said. Moving his head to look at her, he smirked. "You wish Capps." Wait, why did he say that? It was just teasing, right? And in the very back of his mind, the thought came, Does she want my hands on her? Shaking his head he played it off by letting out a chuckle and then he started tickling her, not wanting to think too hard about what he said.

Riley knew her family loved Sutton and Levi and she was glad for that. There were plenty of times when her own parents would offer to help out with the two siblings when their mom was busy. They'd have them over for dinner or help them get to school in the morning and she knew that her siblings also liked Sutton and Levi. "Everyone will be glad to see you now that you're home," Riley said. "Hey, you guys should come over for dinner one night. I'm sure my family wouldn't mind. If they do, then I'll just offer to make dinner," she said, her eyes lighting up at the idea of Levi and Sutton coming to join her and her family for dinner. "Go ahead and sleep in my room. I get the bed, so you'll have to sleep on the floor. And, uh, have fun dealing with Kate's sleep talking," she teased. With her and Kate being the only girls in the family, they'd been sharing a room as long as Riley could remember. "Oh, don't underestimate me, Muller," she said. "I may be small, but don't forget that I'm not afraid to play dirty," she said with a laugh. "You may be strong enough to hold me down and tickle me, but the hard part will be getting me down in the first place." She wouldn't actually hurt Levi, but she wasn't going to just let him talk like that. She wasn't afraid of him. "Obsessed?" she asked, laughing harder than necessary. "Nice try. But, uh, I think we both know that you're the one that's obsessed with me. After all, I was Sutton's friend first and you're the one that forcibly wedged yourself between us," she teased. Levi had actually become her friend pretty naturally. There had been no forcing necessary from anyone, but she was just happy that she had become his friend as well. Riley didn't have a ton of trouble making friends, but she'd never had anyone as close to her as Sutton and Levi. They were both the best friends a girl could ask for and she didn't regret anything about her relationship with either of them. She was just glad that Sutton had began talking to her when they were children. Riley had been a lot more shy back then. Riley was a little nervous about college, but she knew she'd at least do her best. Hopefully she'd manage to get decent grades. It was a worry she kept quiet for now, knowing she'd at least have the summer to chill before she had to face the realities of college and being an adult. "It's okay, Levi. We still love you even if you're stupid and sometimes immature," she said, glancing over at Sutton. She knew that Levi was exactly the type of guy she should avoid when she began college, but he was also one of the best friends she'd ever had. Hopefully he'd be able to talk some sense into her if she started talking to the wrong kind of guys. That'd be better than getting her heart broken. "Hey, Levi. Make sure to slap me if I start falling for a guy like you," she said with a bit of a teasing smile. She wasn't sure she actually wanted him to slap her, but to at least talk some sense into her. Just get her out of trouble before she got herself hurt. "I like butler Levi," Riley teased, glancing over at him as she took another bite of the meal he'd made them. "Excuse me, butler. I'd like some napkins and water," she said, snapping her fingers at him. If he was going to act like a butler, she might as well use that to her advantage. It wouldn't last forever. "I wish?" she asked, eyes wide and slightly surprised by what he said. She shook her head, laughing. "You're the one that wishes. Oh, trust me... I see the disappointment on your face every time you have to take your hands off me," she said. She didn't actually see disappointment in his face, but with the way this conversation was going, she was going to keep teasing him. The weird thing was that she actually didn't mind it. Something about his hands on her was comforting, but she was sure that was just because she was someone that liked contact. She didn't have to worry about it for long because she felt his hands on her again. This time they were tickling her and she laughed, trying her hardest to fight away. She was very ticklish. cal

Levi scoffed. "Forced? Well excuse me princess, but I'm pretty sure this friendship was a two way deal." Rolling his eyes at her, he finished his spaghetti. Sutton had been 6 when she met Riley and Levi had been 8. At first he was annoyed that the girls were always around when his friends were over, but a little later, he spent more and more time with them and started to like the company of Riley. She was sporty, and so he could kick around a soccer ball with her or go swimming. It was a natural transition into being friends and Levi liked to think that they would've been friends even if Sutton hadn't met Riley, but he wasn't sure.
Levi's smile sank a little when he heard Riley said to never let her date a guy like him. He quickly recovered and nudged her shoulder with his. "I would never let you date a douche bag like me," he said, his smile not reaching his eyes. Gosh, why did he have to be like this that not even his sister's best friend would ever see themselves with a guy like him. Internally shaking it off, he laughed when she said he was a good butler. Sutton smiled and agreed enthusiastically.
Finally finished tickling her, Levi gave her a wide grin and brought his dish to the sink and rinsed it off, putting it in the dishwasher. "I'm going to head to the pool and go for a swim. You girls are welcome to join me is you want," he states, picking up his duffle bags and heading upstairs to change. He had missed his room and again realized he was glad to be back. Unbuttoning his shirt and changing into his light blue swimming trunks, he grabbed a towel and headed down, not carrying that he was shirtless. "Hope I see y'all out there," he spoke to them, opening the door to the backyard and slipping outside. Before closing the door, he heard Sutton say, "Oh you will!" Laughing he, took in the sight of his beautiful backyard and realized how lucky he was. Setting his towel by the edge of the pool, he dove in. Feeling the cold water engulf him felt amazing. Swimming always got his mind off things. He started doing laps in the pool.

"Princess? So now I'm a princess?" Riley teased, raising an eyebrow. She didn't even respond to the rest of his comment, only focusing on the princess part. He was right, though, that their friendship was a two way thing. Even if Sutton hadn't started up this whole friendship, Riley would have wanted to be friends with Levi. The problem was that it probably wouldn't have happened because little Riley had been a shy child, and older Riley would have most likely avoided Levi without even getting to know him. So she figured that Sutton was truly the cause of her friendship with Levi. She was lucky, in a way. She could have ended up with a best friend whose older brother wasn't as fun or easy to hang out with or good looking. Wait. What? Did she just think of Levi Muller as good looking? It was true, she realized, but the thought still seemed weird. He was her best friend's brother? Wasn't there some unspoken rule saying that she couldn't think of him as hot? Slightly distracted by the thought, she looked up in surprise when Levi spoke again and then forced a little smile. "Good. I don't think I'm ready to get my heart broken." The problem with Riley was that she really put everything into her relationships. Family, friends, whatever. She loved them with all her heart and put a lot into it. So when those relationships are broken, it hurt her. A lot. And she'd never really had an actual boyfriend (unless you count when she 'dated' Felix West in eighth grade), so she was slightly nervous about the idea. She wasn't sure how she'd handle a broken heart. The idea of Levi keeping an eye out for her did make her feel a little better. Riley was panting slightly when Levi finished tickling her and she had a few tears in her eyes from how hard she'd been laughing. Relieved that he finally stopped, she followed him and rinsed off her own dish. "I'm up for the pool," she commented, heading back to Sutton as she watched Levi go off to his room and change. "Do I have any swimsuits over here?" she asked. She spent a lot of time here and forgot a lot of clothes, so she usually had a few articles of clothing hanging out in Sutton's room. "Or even just some shorts and a shirt that would work better than my current outfit?" She looked up again, seeing Levi shirtless as he made his way out to the pool. Again, the thought of how good he looked crossed her mind, but she pushed it away and turned back to her best friend. cal

Sutton laughed. "Of course you have a bathing suit here Riley! You practically leave all your clothes here! Plus if you didn't, I'd let you wear mine." She rolled her eyes are her brother made his way down the stairs with no shirt on. "Can you believe that guy, thinking he is all that," she grumbled to Riley Getting up, she lead Riley to her room, not that Riley actually needed leading. She pulled out Riley's swim suit she had left here. "I may or may not have used it while it was here," she admitted sheepishly. "But in my defense, you left it here so it was free game." Changing into her own bikini, which was a bright red color, she clipped her hair up so it wouldn't get wet. If her hair go wet, it would be a frizzy curl nightmare that really no one wanted to see. She spent a great deal of time every morning making sure her hair was straight as a pin. Heading down the stair with their towels, the stepped outside and felt how hot it actually was. "Ew I hate the heat," Sutton commented, laying her towel down so she could lay on it and get a little tan hopefully. She didn't understand how her brother could be so tan and yet she was so pale and could sunburn so easily.

( oh shoot i was working on Brittany and didn't see this) Riley grinned. "I knew I could count on you to keep my clothes instead of calling me to come pick them up," she said, bumping her shoulder. Sutton really was a good friend and Riley wasn't sure what she'd do without her. At her friend's comment about Levi, Riley smirked. "Oh, don't worry," she said. "He may think he looks hot, but we'll change and get out there and look even hotter," she promised. Riley followed Sutton up to her room and grabbed it. It was so similar to Sutton's, but green in color. Her memory was a little fuzzy, but Riley was pretty sure they'd went out and bought them together. That explained how similar they were except for the color. "Hey, I'm fine with sharing," she said, disappearing into the bathroom to change. She smiled when they emerged in their swimsuits and headed outside. Yeah, she was right. They both definitely looked hot and would easily be able to show Levi up. "I know you do. I do too," Riley said, watching Sutton lay out her towel to tan. Riley threw her own towel over a chair, deciding to skip the tanning. She was pretty pale, but didn't really tan. Instead, she burned. Laying out in the sun would be the worst idea. She walked up to the edge of the deck before jumping into the pool, careful not to her in Levi's way. She popped up from underwater a few seconds later, shivering. "I-it's cold," she groaned, crossing her arms over her chest and her muscles tensing a little. cal

Hearing the door open, Levi stopped swimming and watched the girls come outside. Of course Sutton would want to tan, but as his vision panned to Riley, his breath hitched a little. Woah... he thought, glancing at her pale body. Since when did Riley get hot? Wait, he didn't just think that, did he? He was like an older brother to her, he couldn't think that. Making sure she hadn't seen him check her out, he swam to the edge and welcomed them. "About time!" he teased. "Come on Sutton! Get in the water!" Sutton just looked at him and stuck her tongue out. Riley jumped in, making a little splash. As she came up for a breath, he saw she was shivering. Swimming up to her, he put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her in closer. "Oh don't be a baby," he teased. "Feel warmer now?" he asked. For a moment, their skin touched and a little shiver shot through him. Not knowing why he was feeling this way, Levi decided to splash her. Laughing, he continued to splash her.

Riley hadn't noticed the way that Levi had been looking at her because she'd turned to set her towel down. "Oh, don't worry about Sutton. She's just going to be the boring one today," she teased, keeping her voice loud enough for her best friend to hear. By the time she was in the water, she'd almost been able to push away the thoughts of how he looked in a swim suit. After all, Levi was a good friend and her best friend's brother. These were really the last thoughts she should be having about him. But then he put his arm around her and teased her about being cold and she felt... something. She couldn't identify it, but she felt something. "Well, I did feel warmer before you splashed me," she said, feeling a little relieved when he pulled away and splashed her. It was easier to think of old times again, instead of how weird she'd been feeling around him since he came home from school. She dodged his splashes and ducked under his arm so that she was behind him. "Now what?" she asked, jumping onto his back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his torso, keeping her grip tight (without choking him) so she could stay on his back. "Now what are you gonna do, big guy?" she teased, leaning her head forward to whisper he words into his ear. cal

(Oops didn't see this lol)
Levi nodded when Riley said Sutton was being boring. "Ya, what the heck Sutton? Stop being a lazy person and come in the pool!" He laughed at Riley's comment and continues to splash her. She dodged the splashes and ended up behind him on his back. Feeling her legs wrap around him, he stopped splashing, a little shocked. Left a little surprise, he smirked to himself. He grabbed her thighs so she couldn't get away from him. "You better hold on Capps cause we're going underwater," he announced to her. Diving forward, they were submerged underwater. He could feel her trying to get away and so he had mercy on her and broke the surface, letting her go.

Since Sutton didn't seem to be coming into the water with them, Riley turned all her attention to Levi instead. His skin was slippery from the water, but she'd still managed to climb onto his back with little difficulty. She felt his shock and smiled a bit, thinking she'd won this one. He may be strong, but she was smart. This all went away when she felt his hands on her legs and heard his words. "No no no no n-" she began to say, but it was too late. They were going under. She stopped talking and took a deep breath, holding it in as Levi brought her under with him. When they were finally back above water, she shoved herself away from him, trying to act angry. She couldn't fight the smile. She even surprised herself when she moved forward, wrapping her arms around him in a hug and closing her eyes. She didn't want to be all emotional and sappy right now, but it was too late to turn back when she was already hugging him. "I'm glad you're back, Lev. I really missed you," she admitted, glancing over to make sure Sutton wasn't seeing this. She lingered a little too long, not wanting to end the hug, and thought it might be awkward for her friend to see this. cal

Looking at her, trying to be mad, Levi couldn't stop a smile from coming across his face. Whenever she tried to act angry, she lips your pout a little and she got this little crease in her forehead. He took that time to really look Riley over. Her head was slicked back from the water, leaving her face on full display, the water bringing out the blue in her eyes. Her small but lean frame and her nice body. She didn't even have to wear makeup to look beautiful, she just naturally was. Stop thinking like that Levi, he mentally scolded himself. He just saw her as a sister, right? And even if he didn't, he would never be good enough for her. She was so pure and kind and cute to ever think twice about him. Surprising him again, she wrapped her arms around his torso in a hug. Having her close to him increase his heart rate and he hoped she didn't hear it. He pulled her in as close as he could and he rested his chin on her head. "I really missed you too Riles. I'm glad we get to spend the summer together, like old times," he whispered. Noticing that she hadn't let go, he didn't either, enjoying the closeness they shared in that moment.

When she saw Levi smile is when Riley completely dropped the act and stopped fighting her own smile. There was just something about him that was cute, in a way. He knew she wasn't really mad at him for taking her underwater like that. She took this time apart to get a good look at Levi, something she hadn't really gotten to do lately. He'd only been away for one school year, but there was something about him that seemed different. Or maybe she was just seeing him differently. He looked good with his shirt off, his skin slick from the water and the sun reflecting off of his wet body. She wasn't sure how to feel about viewing him like this. Part of her wanted to distance herself from him, not wanting to ruin the relationship she had with him or Sutton, but another part of her wanted to be closer. She couldn't explain how he made her feel, but she liked it. Another (though small) reason she hugged him was because it gave her an excuse not to look at him. She had her eyes closed, her head leaned against his chest, feeling his strong arms around her. Something about Levi made her feel safe and confident. All her worries seemed to melt away and she knew that no harm could come to her when she was in his arms. She just wished she could feel like this all the time. "Lets make this the best summer ever. You, me, and Sutton," she suggested, her voice not rising above a whisper. But then a mischievous smile crossed her face. "Sutton is being boring. How about we ditch her?" she suggested. It didn't feel right, but how long had it been since she had spent time alone with Levi? "I mean, not ditch her, but just go out on our own for a bit? She seems to be pretty occupied with tanning. We could see a movie or grab dinner or something," she suggested, still not pulling away from the embrace they shared. cal

Pulling away from her reluctantly, Levi nodded. "Well it's always a good time when you two are around," he admitted, running his hand through his wet hair. "And sure! I'm always down for a great adventure. How about we go grab from coffee and head towards the lake to watch the sunset?" he whispered to her. swimming to the edge of the pool, he pulled himself out of the water easier, the water rolling off his body. He was very proud of his body, not always being the fittest guy. When he was 11, he knew he was a fatter kid, though no one was brave enough to say anything to him. Levi has always been the tallest so that alone intimidated people. He now had defined abs, nice arms, and a strong lower body. Taking his towel, he tiptoes around Sutton, wiping the remaining water off him. Wrapping the towel around his waste, he turned back to Riley. "I'm gonna take a super quick shower and get changed. I'll meet you downstairs in fifteen minutes." Levi ran upstairs to get in the shower. After a five minute shower to wash his body and hair, he quickly shaved his face and got dressed in some light blue jeans, a white button up with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and put on his white vans. adding a little gel to his hair, he rushed down with one minute to spare.

Riley suddenly felt colder when Levi pulled away, but she should have known that their hug couldn't have lasted forever. Even if she did miss him while he'd been gone. "Oh, you're the one that adds a little extra spark to everything," she said. Sure, she loved Sutton and they had a ton of fun together, but stuff was different when Levi was around. When he agreed to leave Sutton here and go on their own little adventure, she smiled. "That sounds perfect. And it'll give us time to catch up," she said. His idea really did sound perfect. It's been a while since she got to watch the sun go down. She watched him pull himself out of the water, taking another moment to let her gaze wander his body as his back was turned and watch the water drip onto the deck. She followed him out and wrapped her own towel around her body, careful not to disturb Sutton. When he spoke, she nodded. "I'll just, uh, change," she said, not wanting to bother with a shower right now. Sure, she'd smell like chlorine, but it's not like she'd been swimming in dirty lake or water park water. She let Levi go into the house first before she headed back up to Sutton's room. She changed into her outfit from before, which was pretty simple. A pair of short blue athletic shorts, a blue and gold t-shirt representing their high school, and a pair of flip flops. She then went into the bathroom that Levi wasn't using and hung her swimsuit up on the shower and ran a brush through her hair before pulling it back into a ponytail. It was slightly messy and frizzy from the water, and it was still wet, but she didn't care. She just kept an eye on the time, meeting Levi downstairs about thirty seconds after he got there. "You look good," she said with a bit of a smile, glancing out at Sutton one last time. "You drive and I'll buy the coffee?" she asked, grabbing her phone from where she'd left it on the kitchen table. She didn't have her wallet with her, but she always kept a twenty in her phone case for times like these. "Think of it as a welcome home gift," she said, slipping out the front door and getting into the passenger seat of his car. cal

Watching her come down, he smiled at how carefree Riley looked. Even with her hair being a little frizzy, she still managed to look good. Levi glanced down at himself and smiled at her compliment, "Well thank you Capps." He pulls out his phone to text Sutton that they had left, not wanting to freak her out when she woke up from her tanning. Nodding his head, he grabbed his keys, phone, and wallet. "I won't say no to a free coffee," he smiled, opening the door for her. The car was already unlocked and he watched her as she made herself at home and plopped herself into the passenger's seat. Letting out a chuckle, he opened his own door and climbed in. The top of his jeep was off, loving that he was still in the open air even when he was driving. Starting up the car, he looked behind him to pull out. "So you want to go to Starbucks or the local place, Oblivion?" he asked her. Levi knew this town like the back of his hand and was glad he still knew his way around, when if he'd been away for 8 months.

"What? You're not gonna tell me I look good? I'm offended," she said, though the smile on her face told him she wasn't truly offended. Instead, she made sure to nudge him with her shoulder as she walked past. She watched him text his sister, wishing she'd thought to do that. Oh well. As long as Levi mentioned that Riley was with him, then Sutton wouldn't have to worry when she came inside and found both of them gone. "Well, don't get used to free coffees, bud. This is just cause I haven't seen you in months." Riley had a Jeep herself (a bright green one), but there was something more fun about riding in Levi's. Maybe because she was simply riding and was able to enjoy it more than when she had to drive. It was a lot more relaxing. She buckled up as he began to leave the driveway. "Lets go local. I've been having Starbucks a lot lately, so that'll be a nice change," she said. She leaned back in the passenger seat, a smile on her face as she watched the scenery pass by. cal

"What? And boost your ego some more?" he teased her, bumping her shoulder back. When Riley said she wouldn't be getting him more coffee in the future, he pouted at her. "Coooommmmeee oooonnnn Rileyyyyy," he whined. In the car, he was glad that Riley was so relaxed in his jeep. Not many people liked how it felt to ride in one, but since Riley had one of her own, he knew she could appreciate it. He nodded his head in response to her suggestion of the local coffee place and turned on the radio. Meant to be came on and he sighed. This song was one all the time but he didn't change it. It was strange, the lyrics really stuck in his head this time. Baby, lay on back and relax, kick your pretty feet up on my dash No need to go nowhere fast, let's enjoy right here where we at Who knows where this road is supposed to lead We got nothing but time As long as you're right here next to me, everything's gonna be alright If it's meant to be, it'll be, it'll be Baby, just let it be Looking over at Riley briefly, he didn't fight the smile spreading across his face as she just looked at the scenery. Pulling up to Oblivion, he hopped out quickly and ran to open her door. "M'lady," he said, bowing deeply and laughing a little. Stepping inside of the coffee place, he looked around and smiled. He loved this place. Stepping up to the register, he ordered a vanilla latte and looked at Riley and waited for her to order.

Hm okay one more reply because I don't want to go to bed I just know that I should"You're the one with the ego that doesn't need boosting," Riley argued, glad to find herself back into the banter that was almost always going on between them. Both of them had confidence and neither really needed an ego boost, but Riley had just been trying to be nice when she offered Levi that compliment. When he whined, she shook her head and laughed a little bit. "Sorry, Lev. I need to pay tuition next year." And get some scholarships... She knew that her parents would help her pay for school as much as possible, but that wouldn't be a ton. They weren't the richest family, and education for seven kids wasn't cheap, so they weren't able to help with college as much as they liked. She heard the lyrics of the song and smiled a bit, glancing over at Levi before turning back to watch the scenery, singing quietly to herself. She wasn't any amazing singer, but she did enjoy singing along with the songs on the radio. She just kept her voice a little lower, enjoying the scenery as Levi drove them to the local coffee shop. "Huh. College turned you into a gentleman," she teased, stepping out of the car and following him into the coffee shop. She let Levi order first before getting herself a caramel frappe and handing over her twenty. She received her change and handed it over to Levi, annoyed that her shorts didn't have pockets. "Can you hold this for me? And don't steal any! I know how much change I had!" she said before going over to grab their drinks. She handed his off to him and then took a sip from hers. "Now, let's get down to the lake before the sun really starts to set." She looked out at his car, smiling. Today just felt so right - her and Levi hanging out and enjoying their time together. cal

Levi knew how hard and stressful it was and was going to be for Riley when it came to college. With so many siblings, Levi knew her parents were stressing too, wanting to be able to give all their children the college experience. He enjoyed listening to Riley quietly singing. He chuckled when she said he became a gentleman. After they got done ordering, she handed him her money. giving her a mischievous look, he silently put the money in his pocket. He wasn't going to actually take her money, but she didn't need to know that. Getting their drinks, they went back to the car and headed towards the lake. Off roading a little to get to the beach along the lake, Levi put the car in park and got out and sat on the front of his jeep, leading back on the windshield. He patted the spot next to him for Riley to sit next to him. "Wow, I missed this view. Nothing can really compare to this," he commented, as he sat there fascinated with the sun setting behind the lake. It made everything seen irrelevant. This was one of his favorite parts of his home town, other than getting to see all of his high school friends, as well as Sutton and Riley. Coming back to reality, he looked back at Riley. "So, you ready for college young one?" he asked her, wanting to know how she really felt and what was going through her head.

Stuff was just so simple with Levi and that's what Riley had missed about him. Sutton was great, but so was Levi. Riley needed both of them around to be completely happy. For some reason, even something as simple as getting coffee with Levi just seemed so right and perfect. When they were back in his car, she took small sips from her drink, a relaxed smile on her face as he took the familiar route to the beach and eventually put his car in park. She got out of the Jeep and lifted herself up onto the front to sit beside Levi, her legs crossed and her flip flops tossed off of the car leaving her barefoot. It really was beautiful out here. She glanced over at Levi, admiring how the setting sun outlined his face and she found a small smile forming as she faced forwards again, resisting the urge to rest her head on Levi's shoulder. Seriously. What had gotten into her? His voice pulled her back to reality, but she stared straight ahead instead of looking at him. At his question, she sighed and stayed quiet for a moment. She could lie like she had been doing, but this just seemed like a good place and time to be honest. She kept her eyes on the setting sun. "I guess..." she said, trailing off for a moment. "It's just.... it's a big change. I'm a little nervous," she admitted. It felt weird to admit her fears, but maybe Levi was the best one to talk to. He was already a college student. "And I'm definitely gonna miss this," she said, waving her hands around to gesture at them sitting on his car and watching the sun set. cal
