Levi's face broke into a light smile when she told him how she felt safe with him. He knew that they would always just be friends, so he guessed that being her safety would be something he could live with. Closing his eyes, he was all too aware of the girl next to him, their arms touching ever so slightly. Sooner or later, he fell asleep, Riley's scent lulling him to sleep.
(Time laps: The Next Morning)
The sun woke Levi up, shining right into his eyes. His eyes still closed, he feel a small body next to him. It took him awhile for him to register the events of last night and that the person next to him was Riley. Squinting, he slowly opened his eyes and found, to his dismay (as well as delight), that their legs were tangled together and that she was resting her head on his bare chest. She was still asleep and he longed to watch her sleep for a bit longer, but he knew that if Sutton found Riley here in his room, tangled in bed with him, there would be hell to pay. Moving a stray piece of hair behind her ear, he shook her a little. "Riley. Riley, you have to get up. I don't want to have Sutton see you in my bed," he whispered, trying to pull her from her sleep. He felt bad for waking her, she looked so peaceful, but he had to. Thankfully, his mom wasn't home to barge in either. He just had to worry about Sutton.

Riley couldn't sleep in the guest room. She couldn't close her eyes without being brought back to earlier that night. Thai was just more proof that Levi made her feel safe. As soon as she closed her eyes, she was asleep. She faded away to the feeling of their arms barely touching, yet it was so comforting for her. *** Riley woke up to the feeling of a hand on her shoulder and she was immediately disorientated. She groaned in protest, shifting slightly and the freezing when she realized she was tangled up in bed with someone. That was really unusual for Riley. She wasn't the type to just walk around and end up in bed with any guys that she thought were cute. But all her fears diminished when she heard Levi's voice. The details of yesterday came flooding back and she sighed. She felt so comfortable pressed against him, but he was right. She lifted her head from his bare chest, blinking sleepily at him. He was cute in the morning... She mentally scolded herself for thoughts like that as she carefully untangled them, not wanting to hurt her ankle. Her body was stiff and sore, but she forced herself to her feet. "Come out and join me in the kitchen in a few minutes?" she asked. It'd look weird if they both got up at the same time. She got it of bed and limped out of his room without waiting for a reply. Once in the kitchen, she flopped into a chair and yawned. She wanted coffee but the coffee maker was too far away for her tired and sore body. Plus her ankle. cal

Looking at him with her sleepy eyes, Levi wanted to melt. His heart ached when she pulled away from him and headed out of the room. "Of course Capps! Just let me put on a shirt and I'll be right there," he gave Riley a little wink before she left. His body protested as he raised up from the bed. The bruise had turned black with yellow around the edges, looking ever worse than from the night before. Slowly grabbing a plain gray shirt, he pulled it over his head and some how got his arm through the arm hole. Running a had lazily through his curly hair, he walked out to the kitchen. He saw she had just plopped down on a chair. "Did you sleep well Smalls?" he asked her, starting to brew a pot of coffee for him and Riley and eventually Sutton. He cracked three eggs over a skillet and started to make scrambled eggs, adding salt, pepper, spinach, and cheese. As soon as the coffee was ready, he poured two mugs of coffee, adding the right amount of creamer and sugar to her coffee and bringing it over to her. "There you go princess," Levi smirked at her. He drank his coffee black because it was the best way to get his caffeine. Finishing up the scrambled eggs, he served up two plates and brought them over to her. He then sat on the couch, taking a bite of his food. "You know, I don't think you made my owies better, my bruise is much worse today," he decided to tease her instead of dwelling on last night.

Riley smiled when Levi agreed to join her in the kitchen when he got up. Sutton wasn't awake yet and she wasn't exactly looking forward to sitting alone in a quiet kitchen and lifting her mind longer on the night before. It felt wrong, but it also felt right. She liked Levi. It was wrong, but it's how she felt. Maybe this little get together he had planned would help her get her mind off of things. Surely there would be some cute guys there. Maybe her being helpless and stuck in a chair all day would bring out their sympathetic sides. When Levi joined her in the kitchen, she smiled and watched him go. "I slept.., alright... you?" she asked. She slept much better when she was with Levi, but it still hadn't been the best night. Riley could not drink her coffee black and she was glad to see that Levi knew how to prepare it for her. "Princess, huh?" she asked, sipping her coffee. Perfect. "I'm surprised you remembered, Muller." She accepted the plate of breakfast from him and began to eat, looking up when he spoke again. "Really?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Is that you telling me I'm a terrible kisser? Or you subtly hinting to me that you want me to kiss your stomach again?" she teased. She was surprised by how easily the teasing came out, but she liked it. cal

Levi shrugged. "Could have been worse," he replied, knowing fully well that he had slept like a baby last night, even after everything that had happened. "And of course I remember! I'm your butler, remember," he chuckled a little before finishing up the rest of his eggs and sipping some of his coffee. He laughed openly when Riley tease him back. "Well, maybe a little bit of both. How am I to know if you've had the proper experience at kissing?" Getting up from the couch, he rinsed off his dishes and put them in the dishwasher. Thankfully, his mom always made sure the house was clean so he wouldn't have to clean the house for the little party. His mom had also bought the snacks and bbq items he had asked for and he made a little side note to thank her the next time he saw her.
Walking down the stairs with her hair a mess and still in her pajamas, Sutton mumbled a hello before going straight to the coffee. Her hair was in it's natural curl, making her bob look even shorter. She had her glasses on, something Levi hadn't seen in a while. "Oh Sutton, I'm not sure if I told you but I'm having some people over in a couple hours, so you might wanna start getting ready. You look like you've been hit by a train," Levi giggled at her appearance, receiving a glare that would've intimidated anyone else but him. Sutton went to sit by Riley. "So how was the guest room bed? I can never tell if it is comfortable or not," Sutton asked Riley. Levi smirked. "Yeah Riley, how was that guest bed?" he teased her with a little smirk.

Riley nodded. It could have been much worse for her if she'd stayed in the guest room. She wasn't sure what to do tonight. She slept a lot better with Levi, but she didn't want to be overstepping her bounds and she also didn't want Sutton to catch her sleeping in his bed. "Well, you're a darn good butler. That's for sure," she said. She set her mug aside and finished up the eggs he'd made. They were delicious. "Oh, butler!" she called. "I'm done." She'd normally offer to take her own dishes to the sink, but she might as well use this stupid ankle as an excuse as long as she could. She smirked a bit at his reply. "Well, I can tell you that I haven't had a ton of experience with kissing. Probably not as much as you. But I'd be happy to kiss your owies again... just not when we're in danger of Sutton walking in... that would be awkward," she said. Yeah. she wasn't quite sure how they'd explain if Sutton came in to find her best friend's lips on her brother's broken ribs. Awkward was an understatement. And she wasn't sure why she was agreeing to kiss his owies again, bud she couldn't back down now. "Hey, Sleeping Beauty," Riley greeted when Sutton joined them. Her best friend was beautiful and she would happily admit that. "But Levi's right. You look like more of a mess than the two of us right now," she said, knowing Levi's big black eye and the ugly cut across her face made them look a bit rough. When Sutton sat beside her, Riley leaned her head on her friend's shoulder and sipped her coffee. She opened her mouth to answer Sutton's question, but blushed a bit at Levi's teasing. She was just glad that she had her head on Sutton's shoulder so her friend couldn't see the light pink. "it's... alright," she said. It actually wasn't bad, but a mischievous smile crossed her face as she glanced at Levi. "But I'm sure you and Levi have more comfortable beds. If you wanted to make your best friend's day, you could always try to convince Levi to sleep in that bed for the night so I can enjoy his obviously comfortable bed," she said. cal

Taking her plates and giving her the best bow he could with the injuries he had. He washed those as well, making sure the kitchen was spotless for the people coming over. Thinking about Riley kissing other guys made him ball his hands into fists. He didn't like the idea of it, but he did like the idea of a repeat of last night. "Oh I'll take you up on that offer sooner or later Capps, you can count on that," he winked.
Sutton completely missed the teasing in their voices and looked at Levi. "Yeah Levi, your bed is super comfy, why don't you give it to Riley." Levi tried to looked shocked, but little did they know, he would give anything to Riley if she asked for it. "What? My bed? Never?" he faked being upset. Laughing and giving up the act, he said, "Anything for my Riley." He gave her smile then looked back at Sutton. "Do you want to help me set some stuff up before the party?" he asked his sister, starting to make a list of what he needed to get done.

Riley really hadn't kissed many guys before. Especially if you didn't count the kisses she'd given Levi the night before. After all, the closest she'd been to his lips was his eye and she had a feeling that kissing a stomach was much different than kissing lips. When Levi agreed to do that again, she found a light blush covering her cheeks again. She'd slept so much better when she was beside Levi and maybe she'd be able to sneak into his room again tonight. She just couldn't make a habit of it or Sutton would eventually find out and that wouldn't be good. Levi's bed was comfortable. Riley could personally say that. Of course, she didn't. Not with Sutton sitting beside her. That would be an obvious giveaway to what had happened last night. When Sutton agreed to her demands and asked Levi for his bed, Riley crossed her arms and gave him a smug look, but he gave in quicker than expected. "Wait... actually?" she asked, surprised that he was truly willing to give up his bed for her. "That would make you like my second best friend ever." He already had that position, but she could still make that offer. She settled back and sipped her coffee as she listened to Levi talk. "I can help with anything that doesn't include moving. I'm still so sore from yesterday. Hey, did the hospital send any of those nice painkillers home with us?" she asked. (Oooh I hope you enjoy it) cal

Laughing, Levi nodded. "Really Riles. And I already am your second best friend, you goof!" Walking over to her, he ruffled her hair. Looking down at her when she spoke about her soreness. He rushed over to the cabinet and got her some Advil. "None of the prescribed stuff today if your are going to drink," he told her, handing her two pills. " I just need to make sure that the backyard has enough towels and food for the guests. Then we can start getting ready," he instructed. He got the drinks out and into the cooler. He did some other chores to make sure everything would be okay for the guests. Sutton had gone back upstairs to start straightening her hair and doing whatever girls do to get ready. "Do you want me to help you up the stairs to get ready with Sutton?" he asked Riley. He needed to shower himself and get ready, his hair was a mess and he still had the faint smell of hospital all over him.

"You really are," Riley said with a laugh. "Oh, I'm going to enjoy your bed tonight. I hope you don't have anything embarrassing in your room," she teased, making a face when he ruffled her hair. She watched him grab the Advil for her and swallowed the pills he handed over. "Ah, good point. What would I do without you, Levi?" She just wasn't used to having prescribed medicines like that. Nothing that would react badly with alcohol. And she really didn't drink a ton, so she hadn't thought to be careful about what she took today. Riley watched Levi go off to do what he had to do to get ready and she finally checked her phone, frowning at the worried texts from Elijah and her parents. She replied to them quickly, promising that she was okay and that Sutton was taking very good care of her and Levi. She didn't mention Levi's little party tonight. When he came back in and offered to help her upstairs, she nodded. "As long as it won't hurt your ribs," she said. She stood up and gently brushed her fingers over his shirt where she knew the bruise was. "And, Levi, i want you to take it easy today. You got pretty beat up too," she said. She climbed to her feet, wincing at the pain in her ankle. The Advil had dulled most of her pain, but it was hard when she actually had to put weight on her ankle. (Don't worry about It mine are pretty bad. I'm tired.) cal

When her fingers brushed over his ribs, he stilled. It means nothing Levi, knock it off. He gave Riley a smile, "Now when do I ever not take it easy?" This party needed to come fast or else he was going to explode. Picking her up gently, he walked up the stairs with her in his arms. Setting her down outside of Sutton's door. "I gotta shower and get the smell of the hospital off of me! See you in a little bit," he told her, heading to his own room. Hopping into the shower, he washed off, making sure not to wet his arm brace. The warm water felt good. Dang, he wouldn't be able to swim in a week. That was going to be torture for him. Getting out, he dried off and changed into some swim trunks and headed back downstairs Just in time for the door bell to ring. Giving everyone hugs and welcoming them in and leading them into the back yard. He smiled when he saw Big Dave and gave him a huge hug. They started talking while everyone started to get drinks, play corn hole, swim, and tan. This was going to be a very good night and Levi could not wait to see everyone that came. He noticed that there were some people from Sutton and Riley's grade that came, but he didn't mind as long as they weren't stupid. Cringing a little bit, he saw Brittany walk in, Sutton and Riley's biggest enemy. That wasn't going to be good and Levi prayed that she wouldn't ruin this fun night.

Riley noticed the way he stiffened when she touched his ribs and she pulled her hand back, not wanting to hurt him. Even if Levi acted tough about it, she knew she could really hurt him. She rolled her eyes playfully at his comment. "You know what I mean, Levi. Don't do anything stupid while you're still healing," she reminded him, laughing when he picked her up. She rested her head on his shoulder, enjoying the feeling of being in his arms way more than she should have. When he dropped her off outside of Sutton's room, she went in to join her friend and get ready. Once Levi was out of the shower, she hopped in and got herself all clean. After that it was a simple brushing and braiding of her hair, a little makeup, and picking out the perfect light blue swimsuit to wear for the day. She could hear guests arriving and it wasn't long before she joined the crowd, grabbing herself a drink and settling down in one of chairs set up in the shade. A few friends from high school came to talk to her, but then soon moved on to more interesting things. Brittany didn't know why she disliked Sutton and Riley, but she did. She always had. That didn't stop her from playing nice when the three of them graduated. She played nice, but she didn't actually mean it. Even now, she caught a glimpse of Riley sitting in a chair, her injuries from the accident obvious. Plenty of people knew about the accident by now. Brittany waved at her, but Riley seemed to be distracted by something else. Brittany followed her gaze. Levi Muller. With a smirk, the girl walked over to Levi, a large smile on her face. "Levi Muller. Is that you? You look amazing," she said, putting her arm around the older boy. She looked over at Riley, watching as her eyes went down to her phone the second Brittany joined Levi. cal

When Levi heard that voice, it took everything in him not to roll his eyes to the back of his head. Brittany wasn't ugly, in fact, to many guys, she was hot. But to Levi? He could see right through her, her sickly sweet voice and her caked on makeup. Putting on the best smile he could muster, he embraces her, wanting it to be short and sweet but she lingered too long. "Hey Brittany, it's good to see you. And thank you, I've been better though" he chuckled to her. His face was starting to hurt from the fake smile but he pushed through it. "How is everything? You glad high school is over?" he asked, making polite conversation even though he wished he was 100 feet away from her. -- Carson walked into the back yard of the Muller household and did a little double take. How is it that they could afford this house with only one parent? Shrugging, he grabbed himself a drink, as well as another so he could approach one of the girls at this party. Looking around, he saw this girl on her phone. She was small but hot, so he decided to go over and talk to her. "It's Riley, right?" he asked innocently, sitting down on the chair next to her. "I don't know if you remember me, but I'm Carson. We didn't really talk much at school." -- During his conversation with Brittany, Levi would survey the backyard and make sure everything was okay. He had noticed Riley come out in an amazing little blue bikini that played with his head. He had been trying not to stare at her, but he would glance over at her every so often. She would talk to different people here and there and he smiled a little, glad she was here. But now, he wasn't so happy. Carson Johnson was here, a little brat from the football team. Carson was in Riley's grade and Levi knew that kid was nothing but trouble. Trying to seem like it didn't effect him, he turned back to his talk with Brittany and tried not to think about it.

Brittany smiled, her hands lingering on Levi a little too long. "Oh, I'm so glad to be done with that horrible place. Of course, I suppose you know the relief since you're already a college boy," she teased. "You want a drink? Maybe we can find somewhere to sneak off and catch up," she said, smirking at him. She didn't wait for an answer as she went over to the cooler and grabbed two drinks. She popped one open and handed it to Levi before opening her own. "Or maybe we can hang out by the pool?" she suggested. Even if Levi couldn't swim, it would still be a nice place... and much further away from Riley. She caught Levi glancing at Riley and moved to stand between her and Levi. "Aw, don't worry about her, Levi. Why don't we have some fun while the party is going on? It won't last forever," she reminded him, laying her hand on Levi's chest. *** Riley smiled as she talked to one of the girls from her math class senior year. When the girl left, Riley looked up to see a cute boy approaching her. She turned slightly in her chair to face him. "Yeah. Riley," she said, giving him a smile. "Oh, yeah. Carson! I remember you. Didn't you make the winning move during the homecoming game?" she asked, recalling the moment from last year. She was surprised to see one of the football players coming to talk to her, but it was a nice distraction from Levi... Especially seeing the way Brittany put her hand on his chest and moved closer. If Levi was talking to Brittany, Riley could talk to Carson. cal

Levi thanked her as she handed him a drink. He might need five more. Terrified about being alone with Brittany, he motioned to the pool. "Lets stay by the pool, I am the host after all and it wouldn't be polite if I were to leave my guests alone," he let out an uneasy laugh. He also didn't want Riley out of his sight. Drinking a majority of his drink, he couldn't help but glare at Carson. When Brittany noticed that he had been staring at Riley, he played it off. "She's like my little sister, it's hard not to be protective of her. And you're right, lets go have some fun," he smiled at her, noticing that she was getting pretty handsy. Finishing his drink quickly, he when to get another, Brittany following right behind him. He lead them to the pool so he could sit on the edge and stick his feet in. "Aw, much better." -- Faking humility, he shrugged. "Eh it was nothing special. Anyone could've done it, it just so happens it was me," he chuckled. Carson had used that moved in that game to boost his popularity in any way that he could, but Riley didn't have to know about that. "So how are you doing, after the crash and all?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows in concern. Girls loved when you acted like you cared. He scooted his chair closer to hers so they weren't too far apart. "Oh, also, I have an extra drink if you want one," he smiled to her, offering it up.

Brittany was happy when he accepted the drink from her. Maybe he'd loosen up a little bit and make things easier for her. When he agreed to stay by the pool, Riley nodded. At least that was better than him wanting to stay so close to Riley. "Well, you're quite the host," she said with a small laugh. "Nice to see a host that actually wants to stay with his guests instead of sneaking off with a girl," she said. That had happened at the last party she'd gone to. She didn't actually care about that, but maybe complimenting Levi would be helpful. "Riley's a big girl. Plus, look. She's talking to a guy and probably forgot you even existed," she said, waving her hand like it was no big deal. When Levi agreed to have some fun, her face lit up and she followed him to the cooler for another drink. When they reached the edge of the pool, she kicked her flip flops off and let her legs hang into the water. There, she scooted closer and put an arm around Levi. "So how's your summer so far?" she asked, though it seemed there wasn't much that had happened besides the accident. *** "It was fun to watch," Riley said with a small laugh. "I heard a couple people saying you couldn't pull it off, but you did. Good job. You should give yourself more credit," she said, obviously falling for his act. Her eyes flickered towards Levi and she felt something when she saw him and Brittany sitting side by side with her arm around him. She looked back to Carson, trying to push them from her mind. "Oh, I've been better. Sutton and Levi are letting me stay over so everything's been pretty chill," she said, flinching slightly when she remembered the cut on her face. It hadn't scared Carson away yet, but she feared it would. When he offered her the next drink she smiled and put her now empty can on the floor by her chair. "Thanks," she said, opening it and taking a sip. (Sorry for how slow and short they are. I've been trying to multitask) cal
