My intent was to start the series over as soon as I read the 2 that came out this month, but then I realized that would give me only 5 months to reread everything (books, super editions, mangas, novellas, guides) before Squirrelflight's Hope came out, but if I waited until after The Silent Thaw came out, I would get 6 months to read them before the next book, plus winter is the slow season at work so I would have less interruptions.

I'm supposed to go eat with the Mother in Law today. It's always kinda awkward, but at least I get to eat Chicken and Pastries, so it should balance out.

My Mother in Law has this strange obsession with me. Every time my husband visits with her (I usually don't go because they visit on Sundays and I usually work Sundays so I have to stay home and go to bed) it's always "Does Turin like this? Would Turin like that?" and then she keeps texting me trying to get me to start a dialogue, but I pretty much never respond because it's awkward. Last time she came to pick my husband up, she made me these diamond art pictures of cats, and showed up 15 minutes before she was supposed to and expected to be let in and see me, which upset me because had I known she was coming, I would've at the very least gotten dressed (or at least put on a bra) and done a quick clean of my kitchen. Even a text to my husband saying, "I'm leaving now, I have a gift for Turin that I need to give her" would've given me 15 minutes, which would've been enough to make me feel comfortably letting people in. Instead as soon as she knocked I fled to the bathroom, then had to hide in there until my husband brought me clothes, and my kitchen counter was covered in mail.

The only scar that you can see is when my brother chucked something at my forehead when I was two. I went to the ER for it

It's not bad enough to talk to her about it. I wouldn't even speak to her for a few years there, because my husband had to have surgery once, and initially it fell on her vacation week and she din't care enough to cancel her trip, but then it got pushed back a week due to swelling and suddenly she's up at the hospital being a drama queen going "My poor BABY" and stuff. Then they called me back for his pre-op, and she asked if she was supposed to come too and I told her I would tell him she was there and it would be up to him, since this day was about HIM and not either her or me. I went back there, told him, he said, "No, I don't want her back here", but then she ended up finding a nurse to bring her back there, and by the time she got back there he was so drugged that he didn't even remember her being back there. She left after the surgery was over, but I stayed until they'd let me see him (another 6 hours after she left) and the whole time I would call her with updates. The next day when he was a little more alert, I told him "You need to call your mom, she needs to hear from YOU that you're ok" so he called her, and the first words out of her mouth were "Turin was trying to keep you from me".

Yeah, she's a bit...off.
I think part of her obsession with me is because my Brother in Law's wife is openly rude to her, like will go out to eat with her where the MIL is paying and won't say thank you, screw you, nothing, just won't speak to her. Then the last time they all went out, the SIL was very loudly saying inappropriate words for a restaurant (or really inappropriate words for anywhere public) and was drawing all kinds or rude stares from other restaurant patrons, which completely embarrassed both my husband and his mom (the BIL is used to his wife's crassness, so it didn't bother him). I at least have manners and am gracious when I do go.
