Leo "It is my duty to protect you." ◢ ♚ ╸◇╺ ♚ ◣ It was kind of funny, that his mind went back to reading the first Leo's writing.
Even funnier at how much he actually didn't believe such a thing was possible. There were generations killed off by the Deadly Seven and those whom had stayed in existence together, but the rarest forms of the past was when the Deadly Seven had been defeated. Tadashi's dark eyes stayed down on the small figure next to him and wandered off in thought. How in the world was he supposed to counter such a little thing that held so much darkness? How was he supposed to genuinely befriend a creature that held his family hostage and could kill them at any given time, destroy them, hurt them and make life a living hell?
Pride was a nightmare, a living one. He couldn't be killed, not by any normal means, he couldn't be countered with ease and if he attacked with all of his group... if all seven attacked, could his family really survive such a thing? The zodiacs were made to help, not to kill. They couldn't convince them to be good people in the midst of them trying to kill everyone, now, could they? How could Tadashi try to befriend and be kind to the demon that haunted his worst nightmares? Shou was terrifying in every sense and the King of Zodiacs had no understanding of how to do such a thing.
And yet...
There was that feeling. Shou reminded him of what he'd love in a younger sibling, if he had ever been blessed to have such a thing. He wouldn't know, of course, because he didn't even know his own parents and probably never would. Tadashi would have loved a small little sibling like this, someone adorable that, while they might not need protecting, he'd still want to protect them anyway. He'd always be there. Shoulder-rides, bed-time stories and everything similar. He would have loved that. Unfortunately, everyone as a zodiac were close in age, so he had never gotten the chance even upon meeting every for the first time.
Ah, those fond... memories... with the twins...
Was he six? Six years old when he had met everyone? The twins were four at the time and Hotaru was five. He had met them all and everyone identified themselves in a little circle, getting to know everyone's names, everyone shifting into their celestial forms, baby animals of what they were now. Kitten forms of himself and the twins, a little boy with a tiny, shaky newborn foal's body, a soft little lamb and so on. While everyone seemed a little shy to show it, they had all seemed fascinated by one another. Even then, Tadashi had been a quiet person.
He remembered seeing that Pisces couldn't really play with everyone and so he carried her around on his back while playing with everyone else. He remembered helping Scorpio learn how to run with his scorpion legs. He remembered helping Hotaru get back up from falling over his own little spindly legs. He remembered playing with the twins despite getting pranks pulled on him constantly, but played along so they would be included. He remembered playing with Aquarius in the water pool she had made outside. He remembered playing in Natsumi's tunnels and trying to help her dig them. He remembered trying to figure out how to play Hideki's pan-pipe since it was his special ability.
All these memories of them growing up. And he was the leader, he was there for everyone. And while they didn't always meet together a lot, they came together for the Chinese New Year every year until he was about sixteen. That was when they had all been taken in for specialized training in their Celestial forms for a year. And after that, they all came together in the House of Celestia, blessed by every single one of the original Celestial Beings themselves. He treasured those moments.
Tadashi would not let any single one of them get hurt. He refused to let it happen in the least bit. If it meant befriending this little devil, this demonic cruel being, then he'd do it. If it meant defeating Shou or constantly battling him, he'd do it. He would protect his family at all costs. His loyalty was stronger than anyone's. He was Leo the Lion.
Blinking out of thought, he talked into the house, keeping Shou close by his side and making sure to open the door for him and such. He stood in the living space and glanced between the area. Hotaru and Astuko were probably cooking, but he didn't feel like he should cook if the little demon was here in physical form. Two cups of tea and two plates were set on the table within the dining area specifically for him and Shou. The twins worked fast, when they did their own work.
"So, to get out of our chores..." "... all that we need to do..." "... is bring over a friend?" "Or do the rules not apply to you, sir?"
"Yes." Tadashi's answer was unclear and only seemed to frustrate the twins. Of course, he merely invited Shou to sit down and pulled out some sweets for the younger looking male. The twins, however, seemed to stay in the dining area, genuinely seeming curious about Shou. If he wasn't mistaken, he was sure to see a glimmer of something else in one of the twins' eyes. However, he couldn't tell which one it was without them being in Celestial form.
"So... if you're not in elementary school..." "... then are you in middle school?" "You seem quite young." "How exactly old are you?"
Tadashi could only sip his tea to hide his smile at the thought of the twins' reaction towards Shou. It was a very slight smile, but one that was quickly hidden before the twins had noticed it, seeming to enjoy himself over that kind of a thought. Right now, everything seemed calm and safe. Everything seemed fine. So he allowed himself to relax a little with Shou nearby, within his own home, wondering what age Shou would say or if he'd be truthful. If he was truthful, the twins would most likely be in disbelief and poke gentle fun at him.
Of course, he had Kohaku there to make sure they wouldn't go too far and would have him there to distract the twins from anything drastic. He put a lot of trust into Scorpio and enjoyed his company a lot. The same could be said for every zodiac there. Sometimes the twins got on his nerves or someone would do something to tick him off a bit, but nothing drastic. He cared for each and every single one of the zodiacs and that would never change.

Scorpio "Supporting another's success won't ever dampen yours." resilient, dramatic, wise, passionate — ❦ ❦ ❦ —
His loyalty to Kisaragi Tadashi was absolute.
It had always been, ever since he’d first met the leader of them all. Had he been six? He couldn’t remember the exact age he’d been, but the memories that remained with him were pristine and vibrant as if they'd happened just yesterday. There had been a few individuals who had shied away from him, when they’d all gathered together to reveal their celestial forms - the true identity they kept within themselves even till this very day.
Back then, he remembered with a small curve of his lips, it wouldn’t have been wrong to say that he’d been conscious of his own celestial appearance, despite the bravado he’d masked. There had been an endearing lamb and a cub and two kittens before his eyes, and yet he, himself, had taken the misshapen look of a scorpion. A large, awkward thing that, from what he’d understood with his little brain, was seen upon as something that was frightening and disgusting for its peculiarity in the eyes of many, many individuals. He’d never quite forgotten looking back at the barbed end of his own tail and feeling a flicker of uncertainty.
The harsh features of his half-metallic form, he knew, had been a sharp contrast to his appearance as well, which had been delicate, soft, and almost feminine (his looks hadn’t changed very much, truthfully, aside from the fact that his expression was now animated instead of remaining hidden).
Oh, yes, back then, he’d been an entirely different person; it was almost difficult to imagine that he shared the same name with the past boy who’d sat shyly by himself, always lonesome and distant and timid. He’d been the ‘pretty’ boy who sat with his chin resting on his hands while watching those around himself with his astute eyes and mind; that was to say, someone shrouded with wit and indifference. At least, he’d feigned that smart, impassive nature to a certain extent. If he didn’t, it’d felt like someone would come over and draw him out of his shell, and how stupid was it to let yourself believe that others would help instead of hurt? Yes, most definitely, his past self had been completely different from how he was today, though it was true that some characteristics remained with him, albeit circumstantial.
He had never blamed anyone back then, though, for avoiding him, if they had upon sighting his true form for the first time. Who could blame them, after all? His arm had morphed into that of a scorpion’s, gleaming sharper than the blade of a knife, metallic, cold, and unbalanced from his overall proportion. And his legs and his body from waist below had come to resemble that of the predatory arachnid. Anyone would have been scared, in fact, everyone should have been frightened. Even he had.
Yet, strangely enough, Tadashi had been one of the individuals who had accepted him without question, as if nothing were wrong with him; as if everything were normal. He’d been patient, especially during the times he’d helped him learn how to run with his new legs, when he’d been sluggish as a snail and clumsier than a newly hatched chick.
When he’d first heard of the term ‘leader,’ he’d thought that this youth would be arrogant - someone bossy who would take command the moment he laid his eyes upon them as if they were nothing but things to be claimed. A leader, eh? Just great, we’ll be pushed around like slaves and bound to this transparent contract. What a curse this blood is. But he’d been wrong, and he’d realized it the moment he’d been there, facing Kisaragi himself.
And meeting the Lion, for perhaps the first time in his six years of living as a child at the time, had caught him very off guard.
The Scorpio’s trust and loyalty ultimately belonged to the Lion. So when he’d brought the small, golden-haired individual back home, he had no intention of complaining. There was a reason for what Leo did; he believed in that. In fact, if someone were to lie in his face in this house, he simply chose to believe that there was a reason for why they were doing so, and he wasn’t willing to question it until they opened up themselves. But the reason why he could do this was only because he’d come to known them to a certain point that allowed himself to trust them. Call him paranoid, but he didn’t think that Tadashi was one who would suddenly bring an unidentified guest uninvited to the heart of where they were most vulnerable. A guest, and individual they’d never even seen nor heard of.
Leaning back while raking his inky hair away from his face, he eyed the golden-haired individual whose focus seemed to be concentrated on the twins as he answered their curiosity. “I’m a senior,” he heard the boy say naively, with a charmingly light and soft smile as he happily popped a sweet in his mouth, though he did look a little endearingly drowsy as if he hadn’t been awake for too long. He leaned over the table, regarding the twins with his child-like and curious honey-brown eyes. “I’m the same age as Tadashi, you know. Hey, hey, how about you? How old are the both of you? Tell me about yourselves. Do you like sweets?”
There was a reason behind this occasion, as natural and calm as it seemed; he just couldn’t quite place a finger on why or what it meant quite yet.
The small movement behind himself caught his attention, and he tipped his head to see what or who it could’ve been, only to have a small smile spread across his own lips. “Well, if it isn’t for our very own Sleeping Beauty,” he gently teased when the rather familiar individual quietly (and sluggishly) slipped past behind him, reaching for one of the smaller shelves. “Good morning, Ren. Did you sleep well?”
It wasn’t until a few heartbeats later he received a response from Kikuchi Ren, as if she’d just been snapped out of a reverie. “Oh, yes, good morning, Kohaku 先輩,” she said with her slightly low voice, though her focus seemed to be occupied with the shelf’s contents. Because her hand was sleepily rubbing her squinted brown eyes as if she couldn’t see and her head was slightly ducked, causing her disheveled, cropped brown hair to fall over her eyes, he hadn’t been able to see her face, but… They really weren’t kidding when they said she looked drastically different from her usual appearance when she was just awake. It wasn’t often Ren came downstairs like this, so it did feel a little foreign.
“Are you looking for something? You look lost.”
“I remembered that I left my glasses here last night,” she answered him without quite watching him, seemingly slightly more awake when she realized that her large, black-rimmed glasses were gone. He noted that she didn’t seem all that concerned with the new presence of the golden-haired individual, not quite minding the small morning occasion. Then again, Kikuchi Ren was quite a level-headed and stoic individual who had a natural affinity towards most people in general and wasn’t fazed easily. Or perhaps she simply hadn’t noticed just quite yet. In any case, if he were to choose an animal that best represented her appearance, it would most likely be a small doe. She'd also been one of the few who had not retracted from him when he'd revealed his celestial form all those years back, simply accepting him for how he'd been. She'd most likely forgotten, but he hadn't; his gratitude towards her that day had been strongly engraved in his mind, as had his appreciation for Tadashi.
“Hm? They’re not here… Kohaku 先輩, you haven’t seen them around here by any chance, have you?”
Glasses? “Afraid not,” he answered with a shake of his head as he rested his hand on his own waist. “They weren’t here when I came here, anyway. Say, do you need any help finding them? I could-…”
His words, however, trailed off a little, when he realized what he’d said without having the time to register exactly what he’d offered so naturally and customarily. The Celestial House was large; finding something so small could potentially take a very, very long time. However, he’d been told to keep the twins out of trouble as much as possible, and he had a feeling that he needed to be here for Tadashi and the twins, where the newcomer was, who was slowly being surrounded.
As if catching on his dilemma, the boyish yet gentle-faced zodiac smiled pleasantly, and her naturally sanguine toffee brown eyes twinkled. “I’ll be fine, 先輩. They’ve got to be around here somewhere, after all. Thank you for the offer, though.”
“I see.” Relaxing his shoulders with a subtle troubled curve of his own lips, he tipped his head to the side. “Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you down the road today.”
“Will do.” She then calmly turned her head over to the couch, and he heard her say, “By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask about what’s going on.”
“Oh, him?”
He was interrupted, however, when he heard something clatter against the floor, and he turned around, only to see the sweet, golden-haired individual with the back of his hand pressed against his lips, as if he’d been burnt by something. Luckily, it seemed that the cup hadn’t been too filled with hot tea, though some of it had been spilled, and the container (still intact, thankfully) rolled across the floor. “I’m so sorry,” he heard, only to see the sweet golden-haired youth. Shou, at that moment, looked like he was on the verge of tears; he had humble demeanor about him and a very apologetic expression written over his face as he raised his head just a little to regard the individuals who were currently encircling him with his round, honey-brown eyes. “I… I spilled the tea…”

The Gemini Twins "We don't hang out with anyone and we certainly won't hang out with you." 〤 ⇀↠ 〤 ↞↼ 〤
They could easily remember first meeting everyone and gawking at everyone else's Celestial forms. They had these ghastly large paws and claws and yet, no one seemed to stare or laugh at them. At four years old, they were already more aware of the world than most kids might have been, though that might have been the Celestial blood running through their veins. Still hand in hand, they looked at everyone else, noticing that there were a lot of weird ones, like Cancer, Scorpio and Capricorn that they didn't find too appealing. Funny, at first, they kind of looked down on those three because it made them feel like their own forms weren't that bad at all. Of course, that mentality wasn't around for very long.
Everyone played with them like they were normal kids, not some weird shut-in twins that didn't like anyone getting within two meters of them. Here, they had felt the bond first stir in them. Leo the Lion had come and played with them and just smiled at them with his gentle smile, letting them say all sorts of mean things or pick on him relentlessly. And yet, he never seemed to mind. It had surprised and annoyed them that he didn't break under their pressure and just continued to invite them along with him or to come join the rest in playing. He had never gotten it right on who was who unless they were in Celestial form, which, of course, everyone knew how to do. One had stripes, the other didn't.
And yet, they always switched around. The Tiger was Satoshi, the Cat was Katashi. And then the next day, they'd reverse it Stupid! Katashi is the Tiger and Satoshi is the Cat! For some reason, Tadashi never seemed to mind and always gently apologized to the for messing up. He trusted them, it had seemed. For whatever reason, he cared for them. At first, the twins hated that and were bitter towards him for being that way. Then... it grew on them.
Being invited to live in the House of Celestia after taking a year's worth of training to use their abilities by those whom had served under the Celestial Zodiacs for generations upon generations, as a bit of a shock. Who would want to live in a house with eleven other people that couldn't tell you from your brother? The funny thing was, they came with the invitation of Tadashi. They, for some reason, trusted him. And when they arrived at the long grassy driveway that was gated off from the rest of the world, there he was, waiting for him. Meeting only at the Chinese New Year for as long as they could remember, he was always willing to play with them. They hadn't seen a lot of the other zodiacs outside of the meeting for the new year. So why had they agreed to live here?
Simple. Tadashi.
And it turns out, they had slowly gotten better with others and were slowly becoming more used to everyone else. Their world was still small and closed in, but they were starting to peer at that gate in themselves and wonder if they should start to venture out. While still harsh, they were full on cruel and they weren't completely mean. They had their friendly moments, their nice moments, moments where they actually show a slight difference between themselves. Like at this moment, one twin was curious, the other was hesitant towards the stranger in their house. They didn't have room for another staff member, so perhaps Tadashi had his own motives for befriending a human and bringing him to their home.
Earlier, Satoshi had felt it, he had noticed it. His shadow, it was darker and it was longer than normal. When they sat upon the roof, how everything went silent and eerie. It had brought alarm to both him and Katashi, but it was the younger twin who had seen the shadows. Something within him had a bit of fear, some deep rooted memory in his Celestial blood that he couldn't quite remember. And for some reason, Katashi had gotten this bad feeling in his gut and put his arm protectively around his brother. They had felt that moment of danger pass, but there was... something in them that really scared them. Something from the Celestial golden blood that had a memory. Yet, they couldn't tell what it was.
Then Tadashi had shown up and they both instantly disappeared to avoid being seen by the guest that they had seen by his side. Appearing and quickly shifting back to their regular forms, they appeared behind the kid and their leader, poking fun at the kid. There was something about this kid that they found absolutely adorable and there wasn't really any desire to be bitter and rude towards him in the least sense. That and Tadashi would skin them alive if they picked on his guest. He wasn't out for their teasing, but they'd take it light on the new kid... for now, at least.
"Senior? You mean..." "... no way... there's no way someone as tiny as you an be a third year." "He's..." "Yeah. I know."
Their blue eyes had shown shock and disbelief, however, they froze as if a picture had been taken and glanced over at the tall, seemingly frightening male whom was taking a long sip of his tea. They seemed unamused by his silence, knowing him well enough that he was most likely amused by their reaction and didn't stop them in any sort of sense.
"Sir..." "... what are you smiling for?" "He's aged less than you and is definitely cuter." "Maybe he'd fit your role better."
Their attention had turned back to the small male who apparently was two years older than them, much to their surprise and a bit of shock. However, when looking at the blonde-haired male whom seemed so adorable and innocent, it was Satoshi whom had narrowed his eyes slightly, curious about this little one. Why had Tadashi brought this kid back to their house, and so early in the morning too? Did he know? Did he know who they really were?
"We're Nekiyuko Katashi and Satoshi, as second years in high school." They spoke in unison giving a simple shrug in response to the boy's question. They glanced at each other and then down at the boy. "We're sixteen. Younger than you, it seems. Are you really a third year? Tadashi, is he really a third year?" They didn't seem to fully believe it. Were they getting pranked for once? What a world it was. If Tadashi was in on the prank, he'd pay for it later.
"Yes." Tadashi really was going with it, huh? How irritating.
"We don't dislike sweets...." "... but we don't really eat them often." "It makes us sick, you know." "We have a very strict diet that we follow."
They seemed to be, in a sort of sense, enjoying themselves. Normally they were cross and harsh with humans. However, there was something about this kid that at least Satoshi felt. Maybe he knew their secret. But really, why would he be here? Why come over this early in the morning, before school? Wasn't it an inconvenience to him? It surely was to them and the other cooks. They both sat down at the opposite end of the table from Chiba-senpai (that was his name right?), peering at him with their curious blue feline gaze.
"What sign were you born under, Chiba-senpai?" "We'll give you three guesses for ours."
Then, it seemed like the little male had lost his grip on the cup or something similar, because he had spilled his tea on the floor a bit. They kinda were a little shocked and stunned to see the male nearly about to cry, their expressions immediately softening. They were quick to be over by Shou's side and begin to clean up the mess. "Oi, oi! It's fine! Don't worry about it, okay? It's fine!" They seemed to be talking in unison again. Sometimes it just happened without them really noticing or trying.
"It's alright." Tadashi appeared to be calm and gave one of his gentle, understanding smiles. He didn't smile often, but when he did... well, the twins enjoyed his smile a lot. It was like a warm ray of summer sunshine, comforting and gentle, making you relax and just accept whatever's going around you. Satoshi noticed that the older male put his large hand on top of the smaller male's head and patted him gently.
He really... did care about everyone, huh?

Scorpio "Supporting another's success won't ever dampen yours." resilient, dramatic, wise, passionate — ❦ ❦ ❦ —
He watched as Shou pouted - quite endearingly - in the direction of the twins. “Size and age doesn’t matter! Right, Tadashi?” As he’d said the Lion’s name sweetly, he’d turned his head to glance up at the much taller individual with his placid, honey-brown orbs.
“Sir…” “…what are you smiling for?” “He’s aged less than you and is definitely cuter.” “Maybe he’d fit your role better.”
Next to where he stood, he noticed that Ren had given up on searching for her large, black-rimmed glasses and instead was now also quietly looking over at where the casual, morning commotion was occurring. Her large, toffee-brown eyes remained composed and somewhat curious when they rested on the form of the small individual next to their leader.
Regardless of the fact that he was a stranger, however, the calm, amiable light in her gaze was still clear as the sky outside, and she stood with her hands resting behind her back. He couldn’t sense any genuine hostility from her, as always; it seemed to be such a foreign emotion for Aquarius. At the sound of the last statement that regarded Tadashi’s position, however, her brows knitted together, just the slightest bit, albeit her non-serious expression. She looked like she wanted to gently protest in their leader’s defense, though she was stopped by him when he lightly rested his hand on her shoulder.
“It’s all right, let them be,” he said with a twinkle in his eyes, which remained focused on the Gemini pair. His lips were curved when he said, “they seem to be having fun, you know? It’s been a bit since we’re last seen them like this.”
Slowly blinking a few times, he saw Ren look over at the twins. He watched as her eyes and smile both softened. “I guess you’re right, Kohaku 先輩.”
He wasn’t lying; he couldn’t detect a trace of malice from them when they conversed with the golden-haired individual, and he could swear that they, in a sense, seemed to be enjoying themselves from the way they were reacting and responding. It wasn’t a common occurrence to see the twins in this state, curious regarding the identity of someone else, especially that of a human.
Watching the twins direct a sharp glare in the direction of their leader, he felt the corner of his lips tug upwards, just the slightest bit, once again. No matter what anyone said, his devotion towards them had always been steadfast, despite how many times they’d pulled their mischief on him; his trust and loyalty ultimately lay with the Lion, yes, but were they in need of his aid, he would be there. It was the same for those around himself, for the individuals gathered here together. Were they to need him, he would be there for them, like a pillar that stood to support the main structure of a building. After all, this family that had originally consolidated to simply protect and defend the innocent had become something so much greater to him, so much more paramount than any duty he’d been bound to the moment he’d been born.
He didn’t need to look twice to understand that Ren and most of the others here felt the same. It was what he admired within them all. Tadashi, Natsumi, Haru... each and every one of them had their own way of expressing their concern.
"We don't dislike sweets…." "... but we don't really eat them often.” "It makes us sick, you know.” "We have a very strict diet that we follow.”
“I see,” he heard from Shou as the much shorter individual glanced downwards at the coffee table, possessing the eyes of a depressed puppy, “that’s too bad. I was thinking about bringing cake the next time Tadashi let me visit.”
Leisurely playing with the end of his own inky black lock then leaning his arms against the back of one of the couches, he soon tipped his head to the side. Was Chiba Shou aware of who they all were? Had Leo told him anything regarding their true identity? His warm brown orbs danced over to regard his leader, and inwardly, he could feel a small twinge of affectionate exasperation stir within his heart. It was these moments when he wished he could understand exactly what Kisaragi Tadashi was thinking; sometimes, the gentle Lion’s intentions were difficult to read.
“I was born on February fourth, under the sign Aquarius,” he heard from Shou as he rested his hand on his chin in thought. “Let’s see… Katashi and Satoshi, you were born under the sign of…” He seemed to scrutinize the two twins for a while with his endearing, round eyes with a small, thoughtful crease forming between his eyebrows. He looked genuinely puzzled and thoughtful as he watched the twins with a slight tilt of his head. “Oh, I know! You’re most likely Gemini. Have I guessed it right? Have I?” He’d had childish eagerness written across his face, and he swore that he could, once again, see flowers around the unassuming boy’s head.
Next to him, he heard Ren say (almost subconsciously), “That’s surprising, how did you know?” She didn’t seem to have the realization that she’d spoken; it was almost as if she had been thinking the words and not quite prepared to say them.
Shou smiled. “Lucky guess. How about you, mister?”
It was around that time the golden-haired individual had spilled the tea, and the twins had scrambled around to deftly clean the mess that had been created. "Oi, oi! It's fine! Don't worry about it, okay? It's fine!” The moment they’d reassured him with his words, the small individual seemed to remain silent for a beat before he brightened (all trace of the sadness on his face had simply evaporated to a cheeriness he was certain bordered that of his own demeanor) and said, “Really?”
The quick change of reaction (from puppy-sad to cheery) seemed to cause Aquarius to rub the back of her neck. And was it just his imagination, or did her eyes momentarily rest on himself, as if she were silently thinking: so, there’s another Kohaku here with us, is there? “Hey, Ren-chan?” He said as he quirked an eyebrow in her direction. “Could you not look at me with eyes the seem to be dreading something?”
It was witnessing Tadashi’s rare and understanding smile that caused him to pause, and he blinked twice, surprised that the morning had brought something so scarce.
It suited him.
Shou looked quite happy, too, as if he were a child who’d just received a worthy praise, and he was certain that if the youth were a dog, his tail would be frantically wagging back and forth.

The Gemini Twins "We don't hang out with anyone and we certainly won't hang out with you." 〤 ⇀↠ 〤 ↞↼ 〤
What a quick change of attitude.
The two identical boys exchanged glances with the same thought, a small smile curing their lips upwards as they cleaned up to mess. That suddenly attitude change could only be reminiscent of one person that they knew. Taking care of everything and then returning to sit down at the table, directly next to one another. The slight surprise that the boy had guessed their zodiac made them quite curious about him indeed and their blue eyes rested on Tadashi, very pointedly.
Had he honestly told this little male about them? Or did he accidentally have to show him? Why was this human here, in their home, so early in the morning? Why now, why here, why him? The question in their mind only created more questions and once their curiosity had faded about the new person, their regular personality was back. They barely even blinked, just staring at their leader with a pointed look, not paying attention to literally anything. They knew that Tadashi could tell the question stirring around. It wasn't something that he did without consideration. He always seemed to know what to do and had a motive for mostly everything he did.
So why was this little friend of his here in there home?
Stone-faced as ever, his attention on Shou, the twins eventually gave up with a sigh in unison, their gazes meeting once more. If he wouldn't tell them, he probably wouldn't tell them while the small male was here. How irritating. Still, they were curious about the little guy. They watched as Tadashi got a small baked good and set it in front of the blonde male. He was really being a total sweetheart, wasn't he?
"Oi, sir..." "... we have a question for you." "How come we haven't..." "... heard of Chiba-senpai before?"
This seemed to finally get Tadashi's attention and his dark gaze turned to the twins. For a second, Satoshi could have sworn he saw a small flash of fear in that moment when he turned to them, but it had gone as quickly as it came, so fast that Katashi hadn't even noticed it. For the first time in quite a long time, they acted out of sync and the gaze of the younger twin moved to the blonde boy across the table from them. Why had Tadashi, him of all people, get scared over such a question? His blue gaze stayed on Shou while his brother's stayed on Tadashi, a bit of bewilderment in both gazes, even directed at two different people.
"You would not have believed me," was the answer given to them, straight-forward as always. Even with it, Satoshi's gaze didn't leave the adorable blonde boy. There was something that he just couldn't quite place, and he had no real suspicious thoughts about the small human, but he did think something was up. The answer made sense, however. If he had said he had a small human friend that he spent time with, they honestly wouldn't have believed him.
Just as Satoshi opened his mouth to ask a question, his gaze on the boy still, like a cat that knew you had treats and was silently judging you, a surprised yelp came from the boy whom had came in the doorway, his sea-green eyes showing confusion and shock. He looked like a deer in headlights, completely at a loss for words at the unexpected guest.
"Hotaru, you're going to drop the bowls," the twins stated with a dry tone, their gazes completely unamused as they stared at the seventeen year old that was beginning to fumble with the dishware. With a quick chirp of 'sorry, sorry!' the mostly blonde male set the bowls on the table.
"Ah, I didn't realize we were havin' a guess 'ere this early in the mornin'! I'm sorry! I'll get 'cha some stuff too." Hotaru was more than a little nervous, even with the fact that he was a boy. While the seventeen year old was fascinated with humans and how they operated, he was still absolutely terrified of them. It took him forever to not be scared of the three that worked for them. Quickly, he had returned and set down a bowl as well as plate in front of Shou.
"Hotaru..." "... we came and got tea..." "... for two people." "You didn't realize that?"
Hotaru's cheeks reddened a little and he scratched the back of his head with a small nervous laugh, fidgeting a little. The twins glanced at one another and then over to Tadashi, whom seemed as calm as ever. The tall male got up and moved over to the smaller zodiac, towering over him and gently pat his head in a comforting way that couldn't really be explained. It was like...a warm, comforting light touching you, one that made you feel warm and secure. That's what it was like when he did that.
"Good job. You can go sit, I'll take it from here." Hotaru blinked, his gaze open and wide as he looked up at the individual who was a minimum of a foot taller than him. Tadashi disappeared to go into the kitchen, leaving Hotaru standing there once more. Blinking and realizing that Tadashi was going to finish up the kitchen duties for him, he cautious went and sat down by the twins, a friendly, but nervous gaze on the even smaller blonde.
"Ah, I'm sorry about that. I jus' get nervous 'round guests, that's all. I'm Kishida Hotaru! Ya can call me Hotaru, I don't mind at all." Typically of Sagittarius, he was quick to offer his first name to be used to practically anyone. He was open and friendly with everyone it had seemed. Of course, this could also be due to him probably thinking that Shou was younger than him. Which was incorrect. "What's your name, if ya don't mind me askin'?" Katashi and Satoshi glanced at one another and then down at Shou.
There was still something that made Satoshi's gaze linger more than Katashi's. Why was this guest here...?

Scorpio "Supporting another's success won't ever dampen yours." resilient, dramatic, wise, passionate — ❦ ❦ ❦ —
Wasn’t it peculiar how the morning had started off with a scream, and yet all seemed almost a little too peaceful now?
He watched with his slender hands still resting against the end of the couch, close to where the others stood or sat around the small commotion. Lesson no.1 regarding their household: you really never could know what was going to happen here.
His warm brown orbs then landed on the twins, who seemed to be sharply focused on their leaders’ stone-faced expression. After a brief pause, he soon felt himself shifting his position downwards so that he was resting his chin against his hand (though he was still technically standing behind the sofa). And, he thought that, as they all watched Tadashi for an answer together, he was sharing the same thoughts with the two mischievous twins; or more specifically, the one feline who seemed to watch the golden-haired individual more intently.
"Oi, sir…" "... we have a question for you.” "How come we haven’t..." "... heard of Chiba-senpai before?”
It was then he caught sight of something that subtly took him off guard, though the only indication of his own surprise was the slightest movement of his eyebrows: something wild and scarce and foreign had flickered passed his leader’s eyes as a result of the inquiry. Fear? Had that been fear that had flashed passed Leo’s gaze? If there was one thing that he’d learned about Kisaragi Tadashi, it was that the Lion did not feel fear. No, that wasn’t true; as strong as they were, it was true they all had their own uncertainties and their own vulnerabilities, as did he. Lowering his narrowed gaze in thought, he exhaled a small breath that could have bordered a very minuscule huff. Tadashi, he thought as he lowered his narrowed gaze in thought, unless…
Raking his hair back and pushing locks away from his eyes, he let his orbs travel over where Ren stood next to him with her hands loosely next to her own side. From the way how calm she seemed, it didn’t seem like she had noticed the small, raw light that had passed through Tadashi’s eyes; her observant nature, however, seemed to have caught the way the twins subtly acted out of sync, though it was impossible to understand what she was thinking with her level-headed expression that revealed collected amicability, and nothing else.
“You would not have believed me,” he finally heard from his leader, though he found his eyebrows almost pulling together at the spoken phrase.
Then what about those who would have believed you, Tadashi?
The puzzle pieces just weren’t adding up in his mind.
What would you think, Haru, Natsumi? He found himself thinking as he saw the image of Pisces’s calculating eyes pass by his gaze with her back slightly turned along with that of Natsumi’s. If they were here or had noticed, by any chance, the barely noticeable hint of emotion within Tadashi’s eyes, what would they think?
Hearing the yelp coming from behind where the twins sat, he glanced up only to see none other than Hotaru, who looked undoubtedly startled upon sighting the golden-haired individual. He truly looked like a deer in the headlight, unmoving and paralyzed in what he could only describe as ultimate shock.
It was the twins’ voice that broke the silence, along with Hotaru’s chirped apologies. Shou, on the other hand, simply watched with his round and curious honey-brown eyes. The smaller individual seemed to blink a few times before his lips stretched softly when a plate was set in front of himself. “Thank you, mister,” he said quite benevolently, with the same childish naivety glowing from his face. “Taru-chan?” He watched the short youth repeat as if to test the name on his tongue before he nodded his head and cheerily said, “I’m Chiba Shou. Just Shou is fine for me, too!”
It was the male’s next words, however, that genuinely surprised him.
“Hey, it’s okay; you don’t have to be so wary of me, you know.”
Had he noticed that a few of them were being cautious? Kohaku raised his head with his eyes widening, just the slightest bit.
The atmosphere around Shou seemed to have changed. Instead of the radiantly happy-go-lucky disposition that had encircled him just moments before, the golden-haired youth smiled, this time, much more calmly and kindly. It was almost as if he’d aged a few years in that moment, and he was facing someone who was so much older and possessed the same patience as the Lion. “I do know your identities; remember how I said that Tadashi talked about you, Haku-chan?”
Haku-chan? As he quirked an eyebrow, he tipped his head to the side. “Are you referring me?”
Shou nodded his head. “Some unfortunate circumstances occurred, and that’s how it lead me to know about you.” Placing his plate down on the table, which had been resting on his small knees, the golden-haired individual looked downcast with a subtle smile playing at his lips. This expression of the young individual had surprised him, because in a way, it was a smile he saw quite often from Haru when she was alone, solitarily flipping through a book as if reminiscing something dismal, lost in thought. “You see, a while ago, I was attacked by something.”
“Attacked?” He watched as Ren also took a seat as she listened, her brown eyes attentive.
“Yes… attacked. By… by someone who looked odd. He was large and round and… he had a black necklace with a red charm that said ‘seven.’ He was chasing me, hunting me down. I was cornered; I couldn’t even do anything to him. Any time I threw something at him from my bag to keep him at bay, he’d just cackle and continue to approach me, and no matter where I hid, he found me soon afterwards as if he could sense where I was. And…. the most frightening thing about him was that he was inhumanly fast... And... and any cut I made on him healed insanely fast. It was like he wasn't human.” “It was around that point that Tadashi came and saved me from him.” Curling up on the sofa seat, making himself so small that it seemed that he’d sink right into the cushions, he continued quietly, “I… I didn’t know what was happening. It was all so sudden; I was sure that I was dead. Tadashi suspects that I might have been attacked because I was the closest to him at the time… it was almost like… the whole attack was planned to draw him in.” The fear in the honey-golden eyes were so raw that Kohaku couldn’t help but feel some degree of sympathy, despite the earlier doubt he’d had about the mismatching puzzles. If this were a different situation, there was no doubt he would’ve offered his full compassion and empathy; but the level-sided portion of his personality was taking over as he silently matched the words of Shou together, his mind whirring to make sense of everything that was happening.
“A plan, you say?”
“Yes…” Shou was quiet for a while before he spoke, his voice very, very small. “I’m not sure what Tadashi thinks, but I think… I think that whatever they were, they were trying to make a hostage.”
“But why?” He heard someone say, though he couldn’t exactly see or tell who had.
With a hand resting on her chin, Ren spoke up. “Maybe it was slow down Tadashi 先輩’s movements?”
“Most likely.” Shou fiddled with his thumbs. “Tadashi told me that it’s crucial that I forget everything that I saw, but… even if I forget everything, that man… whoever he is, he may not know that I wouldn’t have any memory of what happened. In that case…”
“I see,” he said simply, calmly, “he’d simply target you again.”
“But Kohaku 先輩, doesn’t that mean that anyone can be targeted?”
“No, that might not be the cause,” he answered her as he leaned back a little, his eyes narrowed and his gaze sharp, the slight trace of his usual smile gone. “Up until this point, I don’t think anyone’s heard or seen this man before. If it’s been a while since the two have known each other since that incident, and no other victims have appeared, there’s a high chance that he may want something from Chiba, and Chiba only. It’s difficult to say without knowing his exact objective - was it to gain something from Chiba, or done to warn Kisa-chan somehow?” With that, he turned his keen eyes over to where the golden-haired youth sat. “Do you think you have an idea of what they might’ve wanted from you?”
Shou wrapped his arms around his own knees with a shake of his head. “That’s why… that’s why Tadashi was keeping me by his side for a while, to see if the man would show up again. You.. you don’t believe me, do you? I had a hard time to let everything sink in my head, too. I don’t even know if I can still believe what I’ve been told. I was against coming here, but… Tadashi said that if there isn’t the person who went through all of it, ‘they won’t believe me.’”
Then he most likely didn’t say anything to us earlier to think about the situation himself. It was the only logical thought he could conjure; Tadashi had kept silent of Shou’s existence, perhaps, to keep them from being worried over a situation that could lead them to something minuscule, or something entirely different.
Perhaps he had needed some time to look into the matter on his own?
Still, he was silent. He wasn’t certain of what to say at that moment; the turn of events left him speechless, and in deep thought. Before he could iron out reasonings in his own head, however, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a movement and spotted Ren rising from her seat. She hadn’t said anything in response, either; instead, she’d simply walked the short distance she had apart from Shou and crouched down in front of the naive-looking individual’s trembling form before she reached out her hand and gently rested it on that of his. “Chiba-san,” she said with a small doe-like curve touching her lips, her voice patient and reassuring. “Was there anyone else around you at the time of the incident?”
“N-no, there wasn’t. At the time, I was alone.”
“祖ですか...” After a momentary pause, Ren matched her gaze with those of Shou’s as she said, “Then that's all right. だいじょうぶですよ, 千葉さん. Tadashi 先輩 is kind and strong and reliable, and everyone here is, too. I’m sure we’ll figure something out.”
Shou seemed like he was at a loss of words before he rubbed his eyes using the back of his sleeves. “Really..? You promise?”
If there was something he’d learned about her, it was that Aquarius wasn’t one to make promises lightly. Even so, she spoke as she gently linked her pinkie with that of Shou’s. “I promise.” She must have been just as startled as he was, and yet, she was so composed and reassured and even comforting, lending out her strength to that shivering child who seemed so spooked upon revisiting his own memories.
It was surely her sincere trust and loyalty for Kisaragi Tadashi that allowed her to speak so calmly, putting the golden-haired individual's worries to rest with the subtle tug of her lips. Tadashi had been the one who had brought the golden-haired individual in, and whatever the reason may be for his part on remaining silent about the entire situation, for now, it was pointless to keep a civilian panicking or upset while he was with them. It would serve them better to reason things out with words collectedly. He suspected that was most likely what Ren was thinking; why was it that he could just practically see her thoughts? She wasn't a difficult individual to read by any means on a normal basis, but it was these moments that made her a completely open book with no malicious intent behind her words and amicable gaze. Well, not that she had any malicious intent with her in any situation or plight in the first place; if he could draw a parallel with her to an animal, it would certainly, undoubtedly, be a small doe.
A small doe, he thought, who held a healthy amount of apathy when it came to certain, ridiculous commotions amongst the zodiacs, such as when the last cookie within the house had been stolen by someone.

Sagittarius "Someday I'll be strong enough to hug the entire world, so then everyone will be happy."
━ ★ ❀ ✿ ♞ ❀ ✿ ★ ━
The touch of Leo the Lion was something else.
Maybe it was a hidden trait among those born as the King of the Zodiacs or it was the bond that was formed by their golden blood. Whatever it was, it was something that Hotaru could only describe as a feeling of the summer morning sunlight touching you itself. Like a warm feeling that spread through-out your entire body like how chocolate did when you ate it, giving you this warm, secure feeling that made you feel... more like yourself. It was as if it were a anxiety-reliever, a fear-reducer a calming and gentle method of calming someone down or perking them back up.
Which was why his inward fear and initial panic of seeing the golden blonde boy at the table was calmed and he was more relaxed than he had been mere minutes ago. Tadashi touching his head sent a warming feeling through-out his body, a sense of clarity and gentleness that calmed his fast-paced heart and his fears that gnawed at his mind. Humans terrified the seventeen year old. Not because of the species in general, but because of the power that one human could have. Just one wrong secret and that could ruin everything. One wrong whisper, someone's memory not being erased and modified, that was something that he couldn't handle that much. He refused to forget, however. Even a bad memory is a memory and you learned from it, at least, that's how Hotaru viewed things. A memory should always be there to help you learn from your mistakes and grow as a person.
Genuinely happy by the small boy's introduction and childish demeanor, as well as the fat that he was alright by first-name standards as well, Sagittarius gave a bright, being grin. "Shou-chan, what a pretty name ya have! It fits ya!" There was something about the seventeen year old that was just bright and bubbly. It was almost as if nothing had started his day in a bad way. It was nice, you know. Just to relax and let things settle.
However, the mention of him knowing their identities made that grin all but instantly fade. The dark of fear came back for a split second there, his heart skipping a beat and his eyes showing genuine concern as well as shock. His mouth wasn't the only one that had opened at the reveal of this knowledge. The Gemini Twins were genuinely caught off guard as well when Hotaru glanced over at them. For once, just once, he noticed that they were not in sync. One of the twins had a hard light in his eyes, an emotion that he didn't quite know or even know how to word. It wasn't aggressiveness, but it wasn't a nice look either.
Listening, the boy's words only made the little ray of sunshine look down at the table in thought. He had said earlier to Astuko that he didn't quite know of the Dark Ones that Tadashi had mentioned before. The story that this small male was telling of, however, added up in his mind quite well. The being that attacked Shou, it felt real. Earlier, in the kitchen, he felt that darkness. He felt it, the coldness of it, the fear trying to spread through his mind like a poisonous ink, clouding his judgement and mind. That's how true darkness felt, in his own way of putting it. If this being was after Tadashi..
I won't stand for it.
There were rare times where the seventeen year old went serious or had that look about him on his face, but it showed in his eyes as he stared down at the table, his hands clenching into fists. Whatever it was, shadow or not, his arrows hit their mark without fail. And they were more than a jolt. The more emotional he got, the more strong they got. With intense feelings of the need to protect or even fits of anger, in the even rarer chance of him getting angry, his arrows had an added boost. He ran in his Celestial form for more than one reason, for more than just Tadashi's orders to keep fit, to keep training and be ready to fight at his given notice. He practiced and practiced with his archery. He was Sagittarius the Archer, he wasn't going to stand by and let anyone be harmed. His aim was the best, dare he say, in the world. He had the eyes of an archer, nothing got past him without him noticing. The small subtle things were the things he was trained to see and notice. Any small movements, any tension or different sort of feel, he was trained to look for that, feel for that, listening for that. It was his job as the Archer to keep watch. Or so Mikasa-san had said upon training him off in the wilderness of North America.
Upon the year of training before everyone lived together, they had been brought to their native regions of where their zodiac was first created. While no one knew of Leo's but those under his blood, everyone else's was pretty knowledgeable. Sagittarius had the forests and mountains just as Scorpio had the desert sands. Cancer had the sea shores of the colder areas, Aquarius had the tropics and Pisces had the oceans, lakes and rivers. Virgo had strictly the mountains and the tunnel systems as well as caves within them, Capricorn having the colder tundra areas, Aries being in the Mediterranean areas. Taurus had the open plains and moors, Libra belonging in the thick coniferous forests and Gemini had a range of everywhere, following wherever the wind took them, though they originated here in Japan.
During that year, Hotaru had been trained and trained very well. He could shoot a fly out of the air with one of his arrows, or he could shoot a cup into the air and then use another set of arrows to knock it to a tree and then stick it there with the force of the other arrows lodging with insane amounts of accuracy. While he was no swordsman and couldn't use most weapons to save his life, his archery skills were the ones that he was well known for. His eyes had been trained, too. His senses, everything about it, he had been trained for the worst of the worst.
Which was why at the mention of the shadow, his gaze turned completely serious and his sea-green eyes focused on the table in front of him. His gaze went outside and then glanced back at the kitchen, to where Tadashi was most likely preparing the last bits of everything, making sure everything was perfectly fine. Seeing Ren pinkie-promise the small blonde, however, made his gae soften and the smile come back. "Don't 'cha worry, Shou-chan! Ain't nothin' gonna come an' hurt 'cha. We're the Thirteen Zodiacs an' nothin' is gonna get past us. I promise-"
"How dull." One of the twins' statement caught him off-guard. Hotaru looked over in surprise at the twin whom had spoken out, an unamused look on his face. The other twin, however, was resting his cheek on the palm on his hand, staring down at the table with almost a bored expression. "Truly, boring and illogical. How self-centered can you get?" The other twin looked up, a bit of surprise flashing in his eyes as well.
"Now ya wait 'ere just a minute-" Hotaru began to protest, his brows furrowing down a bit, a frown appearing on his lips.
"Aw, shut the hell up Hotaru." Ouch. The comment made him blink a bit in shock. flinching back almost as if he had been slapped. Verbally, it sure felt like it. That stare from one of them, it made him almost feel like he did something wrong, like he stepped on his tail or something similar. The other twin, however, put his hand on the other's shoulder as if to say 'take a step back' or 'calm down', from at least Sagittarius' point of view. However, it seemed like that was ignored.
"You know of us, that's great. Another mouth that we have to keep track of. That thing or whatever it was that you said was after you, that sounds like one of the things Tadashi said. It shouldn't be after you of all creatures. A human? What's the point in harming a human when they're so dull and boring in the first place? I couldn't care less about protecting your species if I tried, you all seem to get in the way and are quick to change sides if you see something else desirable. The Dark Ones or whatever, why would they try to go after you? You're close with Tadashi? Don't even make me scoff, if that shadow wanted to warn him, it'd go after one of us. You're probably a play-toy, nothing more than that. You think you're close with our leader? Guess again, pipsqueak, because you're nothing compared to us. Unless you're, by some chance, a zodiac too, I don't care. Just because you're friends with the great Leo the Lion doesn't mean anything. You can't mean anything more to him than we do to him and I don't care how close you think you are with him, you're nothing compared to the blood that's within us. Who do you think you are? You're nothing but a disgusting human that thinks he's the most important spoiled little b-"
That had been enough for Hotaru. He couldn't stand to hear words like that and stood up and pulled his hand, slapping the ranting twin across the face with quite an incredible amount of force. There was already the fact that the zodiacs were abnormally super-humanly strong, but Sagittarius took the cake when it came to brute force and strength. He was more strength than smarts, but even so, that didn't mean that he didn't know better with certain things. That slap probably would have broken a regular human's neck with the force that was inflicted with it. Fortunately for everyone here, this twin wasn't a human. Whichever one of the twins it was, the seventeen year old had enough of that rant, his eyes hard and almost a bit cold and scowl on his lips.
"You'll knock that act off right this instant." Hotaru had stated with a cold warning tone to his voice. "I don't care if you're Katashi or if you're Satoshi. I don't care if you're the Cat or the Tiger. The older one or younger one. You twins are supposed to be the duo that's one of the smartest in the zodiacs, ain't that right? Then act like it. This is a guest who's been through a lot and if you dare to think that ya can speak to one of Tadashi's closest friends like that, then you got another thing coming." There was a pure amount of shock from both twins and he could feel Tadashi's stare coming from behind him. Hotaru lifted his chin up, matching the furious gaze of the twin whom had snapped at Shou. "Glare at me all you want. Open your mouth again and there's an arrow that'll be comin' after you."
"You really think you can hit something you can't see? What an idiot, a stupid senseless idiot." Hotaru's gaze hardened even more, lifting his chin higher to look down at the other. The other twin had gone quiet in a bit of shock, before he gritted his teeth and gently pulled at his twin's uniform, as if that was his silent way of telling him to stop. "You're protecting a complete stranger, and what's worse, he's human. How despicable. Don't forget, Hotaru, how they treated you until they lost their memory on what you really are." Gritting his teeth, Hotaru backed away from the table, reaching over his shoulder as, in the blink of an eye, he grabbed an arrow, his height growing by more than a foot as he towered over the twins.
"Try me." Bow string pulled back, his eyes hardened and cold without an emotion on his face, he looked far from the little clumsy ray of sunshine he normally was. This was like a living carving of stone, eyes staring without care down at the target in front of him. This stare only broke the second that the other twin, the one whom had been quiet the entire time, moved directly in front of his brother. "Move."
"Say my name and I'll move." His tone was gentle, his voice quiet as he stared up at Hotaru. Of course, they had shifted into their Celestial forms in the blink of an eye as well. His hand held his twin's trembling one, making sure to block every little possibility of the arrow hitting his brother without hitting him. The two stared at each other before Hotaru lowered his bow and blinked down at the twin in front of him. He couldn't do it, not with whichever twin this was.
"Gomen... I can't tell you apart." These words were of his regular voice, the tone becoming quite softer.
"How disappointing. You can't even te-"
"Katashi, that's enough." The one standing protectively was Satoshi. "Let's go breathe a bit, okay? You're upset. C'mon. Let's go."
And with that, the Gemini brothers disappeared. Hotaru stood there for a while, still as a statue, waiting to feel them actually leave the room before shifting back. He could sense them and he had the chance to shooting Katashi, now that he knew which one was which. Just to prove his point, in a flash of the eye, he pulled back the arrow and shot at the doorway, merely a centimeter from nicking the elder twin's arm.
"I may not be able to tell you apart without help, but I sure as hell can aim without your help." The words left his mouth as the two completely left, which followed with Hotaru shifting back into human form. He let out a small sigh and looked over at Shou with a small smile and expression that was almost like pity and one that said 'I'm sorry'. "Hey... are ya okay? Katashi can be really mean, I know, but 'cha don't have ta listen to him. We trust you. If you're Tadashi's friend, that's more than enough for me ta trust ya. Ya can be a vampire or somethin' an' I won't blink an eye. If Tadashi trusts ya an' wants ya protected, then by the word and my honor as Sagittarius the Archer, you'll be protected and befriended."
"Shou." Turning around, the seventeen year old noticed that Tadashi was walking directly towards the small being. "I'm sorry for his behavior." That was something unexpected. It was as if Tadashi was blaming himself for Katashi's short temper and it puzzled him greatly. Ah, well, everyone had different manners with different people, he supposed.
"Well, uh... Everyone ought ta be hungry, right? Let's eat then! C'mon, Tadashi, let's go get breakfast." Why did he hesitate for a moment before agreeing silently like that? Hotaru didn't really get it. But, there was a bit of something that he did notice as they walked in the kitchen together. As he was grabbing the vegan-safe miso soup, out of the corner of his eye, he saw how the eighteen year old was as he took in a deep breath as if to calm himself. Was he angry? Was he upset? Still, Hotaru could notice the answer with just how his leader was. A gentle hand was set over the larger male's, a soft smile looking up at him. Still, it was shocking to notice, muchless, feel.
Tadashi's hands were trembling.

(Haha British people are fully freaking out because Storm Ophelia has picked up a load of ash and ember from the Portugal fires and the sky is completely dark orange. We’re not used to unusual weather so this is hilarious, everyone’s acting like it’s the apocalypse)
