[ also! a bit of information on the deadly seven!
each member has been made to specifically counter a certain zodiac. while it can take two or more to take down a non-counter zodiac, if a deadly sin counters a zodiac, they are very evenly matched and made to kill that zodiac specifically, besides the case of leo and pride, whom were the first of their kind and were natural opposites.
lust counters scoprio gluttony counters pisces envy counters gemini greed counters libra wrath counters aries sloth counters capricorn and obviously pride counters leo.
typically, besides the case of the gemini twins, everyone will instantly feel a tug at their true form and have a jumpy, yet aggravated attitude around their counter and most are trained to pin out their counter right away. zodiacs are not really able to find their counter right away, especially in the term of gemini, because they were made to help, not kill. the deadly seven, however, will know exactly who their counter is upon seeing them. ]

Scorpio "Supporting another's success won't ever dampen yours." resilient, dramatic, wise, passionate — ❦ ❦ ❦ —
“Do you want to know a secret?”
If there was one thing he was known for, it was the fact that his lips were utterly sealed when someone confided something to him; it didn’t matter who you were or where you were from, every last heard word you told him would remain somewhere in the back of his mind, unforgotten, yet unrevealed. It did, however, subtly catch him off guard when she inquired him this, because he hadn’t known that his own question could somehow be related with something secluded and confidential. So, leaning forward in his seat and resting his chin against the back of his hand once more, he quirked an eyebrow and listened to her following words while giving her his full attention.
That was something else about him that most individuals came to realize quickly: when he listened, he truly and surely listened. For those seconds, no matter what situation he was stuck in, his usual flamboyant and ebullient demeanor would dim down down, and all that would encircle him was an air of calm.
Gift of the Maiden.
For a price.
Blinking his eyes twice, he leaned back a little. “I see,” he finally said, noticing the fact that she hadn’t elaborated on what the price was. He decided it wouldn’t be best to push for any further information since that depended entirely on them and their own thoughts. If they wished to speak, he would be there to listen. If they didn’t wish to continue, he wouldn’t press them for it. That was how he’d been, and he didn’t think that would easily change his ways, unless the situation absolutely demanded otherwise. Besides, if Natsumi wasn’t elaborating on the notion, then it most likely meant that the exchange was none too pleasant.
As he tipped his head to the side, the smallest hint of a smile touched his lips. While he never admitted it openly (though his brown orbs were almost like an open book especially when it came to regarding the zodiacs and the three individuals who resided with them together), he was simply grateful that there were individuals willing to entrust him with such things; these days, from what he’d seen, it seemed that the world revolved around anything but the truth. Somewhere out there, out of the seven billion people on Earth (that was still increasing too, mind you), there were individuals who had no one willing to confide with them, as unfortunate as it was; perhaps it was due to their environment that they avoided each other, or perhaps it was due to how they were governed that they dodged interactions as much as possible. So for him to be here where he was, having the opportunity to simply speak with these individuals - he cherished it. “Thank you for letting me know.”
He was about to speak once more then she beat him to it, returning the inquiry he’d originally asked. Gently and thoughtfully humming to himself, he rested his hand on his chin when he said, “I suppose I’d like to visit Strasbourg or see the Linderhof Palace with my own eyes. Actually, if I could, I wish I could travel all over Europe with all of you. We’d certainly have a different experience there, after all.” It wouldn’t happen, but hey, it was nice to dream once in a while, right?
Glancing over at the clock, he leisurely brought himself to his feet, stretching his arms languidly like a cat. “We should probably start heading over to where the others are,” he said as he raked his hand through his hair with the usual vibrant twinkle in his warm brown orbs. “Otherwise we might not have anything left to eat.”

Pisces "Be whoever you want to be." erratic, mysterious, alluring, talented — ♔ ♔ ♔ —
“Don’t have high hopes of us cooperating with you to let you think you’ve won.” “We aren’t desperate attention to the point of pretending someone we’re not.”
Eight thousand seven hundred and sixty hours.
She had been with these mischievous individuals for eight thousand seven hundred and sixty hours and a little more, if you were willing to count the number of times they’d run into each other before they’d officially moved to live underneath the same roof. She’d been caught in their nets; had woken up morning after morning with odd occurrences that’d inevitably and most likely been their doing; had watched them remain to the side of everything that went on, like two cats in the midst of wandering elephants; had studied, read, joyously reacted, stressfully woken to, and slept under the same roof as they had all the while attending the same school. All together, whether they liked it or not, they’d been here for eight thousand seven hundred and sixty hours.
It was was egregious to think that there were still individuals who were hazy with anyone’s zodiac animal by this point in time - that there were those who weren’t able to at least differentiate the lion from the ram or the bull from the goat. Even if every meticulous detail remained obscure about an individual (the last time she checked, every individual was bound to have a secret or two they kept under the rug, including herself), it was safe to say that if one wasn’t aware of the creatures that illustrated them, they were never going to be able to withstand the calamity that they would eventually come to face.
Not if there was so little interest going on when they were regarding one another.
She doubted anyone would say, “Leo is the Scorpion and Scorpio is the Lion” (at least, she sincerely hoped no one would). Knowing the labels, the names that shared a relationship with the animals, was more than enough; memorizing names and drawing a few lines to what made those names meaningful was more than enough. And by the way they were acting, skimming the fact of their identities over with their silver tongue, lengthening their speech as tricksters usually did when they wanted someone to believe in something different from what they were seeing, they’d been initiating another trick, that was to say: a trap. One that admittedly quite a few individuals would have most likely fallen into, had they not asserted too much consideration or attention to the two individuals. Like the way a shark’s blindness overshadowed the knowledge that it could smell a drop of blood from quarter of a mile away, it seemed that her intuition had been underestimated this time around.
To that end, instead of responding to the rather long flow of their fluid words, she curiously tipped her head to the side while resting her thin hands on her knees and, with an undaunted, gentle gaze, said, “I’ll believe that once your actions start coordinating with your words.”
“Don’t expect to win. No one can tell us apart and with this kind of start, you won’t have much luck, either.”
Leaning back in her seat a little with her small hands still resting on her knees, she glanced up at the ceiling thoughtfully, unruffled. “Yes, I suppose theoretically you could be right. Even so, even if it may not be possible for me, somewhere, someday, there may be someone who’ll be able to tell you two apart the moment they see you. But this is for certain: if you remain in your own world, you may never be able to meet those people.” Just like I used to. When she rose to her feet, and rested her hand on her waist, her lips curled, just a little. “Don’t go claiming my loss just yet, you two. The world is full of surprises, you know.”
To their next words, she exhaled a small sigh. “Sumimasen ne, tsumara nakute.” Now that she thought about it, the Test of Courage Trial was very soon, wasn’t it? There was a slight pause in her movement as she let her mind wander over to the subject that, in her own personal, humble opinion, would most likely end in someone angry, emotionally charged, or simply frightened. In other words: it would end in chaos. Nothing was bound to end well when it consisted of twelve (tying the Gemini twins as one) completely different zodiacs with Celestial blood running in their veins, night time, jack-o’-lanterns and ghosts. Or fake skeletons, for that matter.
Running her hand through her hair, she leaned her weight against her right foot. Well, she supposed it didn’t matter; it would be like any other test-of-courage trial she’d faced all these years up to this point in time. For the record, no one had been able to break her stoic expression, and she doubt anyone would be able to this time around. Surely that would serve to her advantage.
It was then she spotted Scorpio sweeping into the sitting room with the grace of a newborn deer, and she, once more, found herself massaging her temples. "Is Kisa-chan awake?" She heard his enthusiastic inquiry as she watched him survey their surrounding. Oh, Kohaku.

Natsumi had to admit that she was pretty happy about the fact that her fellow Celestial didn't push her to explain the price behind her gift. Not that she'd be upset about telling him in particular but because she felt that she couldn't tell anyone; that would mean facing up to the fact that if she did this thing, she'd never stop being a Celestial. This life would never end, and she'd always have those chains around her.
She felt like he'd truly listened to her, and she was just so grateful for that. All she needed was somebody who would listen. All she'd want is for somebody who would listen. And Scorpio always had been a good listened. And a goof secret-keeper. Natsumi knew her secret was in good hands with the male; he was actually known among the people in the house for being a good secret-keeper. She couldn't help but think he must be kept pretty busy what with the number of secrets people in this household must have. Everybody had secrets, after all, and Celestials, especially so.
When Hideki told her where he wanted to go, Natsumi smiled.
"That sounds really lovely," she responded
As Kitamura's eyes travelled to the clock, Natsumi's did the same. The other Celestial was right; it was probably time to head back if they wanted to be in time for breakfast. She'd have no doubt Astuko would be here soon and when she arrived the meal was usually finished nice and smoothly. And that meant that Hotaru wouldn't be unsupervised in the kitchen. He was a great guy, for sure, but she had to admit he'd burned the kitchen down once or twice. But then again, in this house, who hadn't?
"Yeah, we should probably go," she responded as she stood "I don't trust the others not to eat everything."
There had been numerous occasions before when Natsumi had been slightly too late to the table and had been forced to go without breakfast that morning. The Celestials ate a lot of food, and cooking for all of them was a Sisyphean task. It was honestly impossible and she didn't know how Astuko did it day in and day out. Well, she did know, it was because she had to, but still.
She headed out and as she did, surely enough she saw Astuko Satou disappearing into the kitchen. So she was here now, though admittedly she'd been a little late this morning and she didn't have bad weather to blame for it; it was lovely outside. Well, Natsumi was sure she had a decent explanation; Astuko loved cooking and she was never late to work on purpose.
Then a familiar figure entered the living room and, as Kitamura was asking whether Leo was awake yet, Natsumi made a beeline over to her best friend, grinning. She was always happy to see him in the mornings.
"Hey, Deki-chan. Slept through the screaming, did you?" Natsumi asked Capricorn with a grin.
He was her best friend; the two had made friends almost instantly because they were such similar people, and they'd stayed best friends ever since, despite one or two hiccups in the past that they'd gotten over pretty quickly.
In fact, the test of courage event wasn't far off and Natsumi and Hideki would be on the same team. That would be fun.

Hideki had barely been awake five minutes before his best friend had come over to see him in the living room. Well, that was nice. She always made him cheer up in the mornings so she was always the first person he sought.
She asked him if he'd slept through the screaming. He most certainly had not, as a matter of fact. He'd been woken up to hear Hotaru screaming and he had no idea what was behind it. Upon hearing nothing else, he figured there was nothing wrong and had gotten showered and dressed as usual.
"No, I didn't, though it might be a good thing because I'd missed my alarm so, you know, silver linings. What was it all about, anyway?" he asked
"Something about the shower temperature. It's probably best not to ask, to be honest," came his best friend's reply.
If she was saying it was best not to ask, that usually meant she suspected Gemini were involved and digging to deep into it could mean that they'd be the next targets. So it seemed like Natsumi suspected Gemini involvement.
"Right..." Hideki responded, laughing "Well, as long as Hotaru's alright, that's all that matters."
Natsumi seemed to have something on her mind, but then she always did so that was nothing new. Maybe she was just thinking about something she didn't want to talk to him about. That was fine.
So the two of them were standing and talking like they always did, just laughing and joking and smiling. Well, it was mainly Hideki doing the joking. He was just funnier, to be honest. He loved Natsumi, she was his best friend, but he had to admit she was a little lacking in the sense of humour department. That was okay, she had Hideki to make up for it. That was all fine
[Hideki's reply is super short but it's just him and Natsumi chatting so feel free to interrupt, anyone]

Astuko Satou bustled into the house a little late and even pinker-cheeked than usual. She'd slept in, horror of horrors, and now she was late for work. And on Monday, of all days. She couldn't be late on days when Hotaru was in the kitchen. And Tadashi was in the kitchen too today. The leader of the Zodiacs. Oh God this was bad news. Such bad news.
She murmured rushed greetings to the Celestials she passed as she tied her hair into a bun while speed-walking towards the kitchen. She couldn't be late. She just couldn't.
Upon realising she was late she'd had to quickly run a brush through her bedhead, shower and get her school uniform on. She'd be going to school as soon as she'd had breakfast. She'd rushed out of the house and practically run the quarter-mile to Celestia House.
But she was here now and she was starting to relax a little bit, though she still felt awful about being late, though so long as Leo wasn't up she might be able to get away with it without being chastised. Well, he might not mind actually, Astuko wasn't late often enough to know, but she didn't really want to chance it if she were entirely honest. So, you know. She was rushing.
But, knowing Leo had kitchen duties that day, she wasn't too hopeful. She was holding her breath and hoping that by some miracle he wasn't awake yet. She was mentally preparing herself for being told off. She was probably afraid of nothing, to be honest, but she wasn't taking any chances.
She entered the kitchen and grabbed an apron, looking down as she tied it around herself.
"Good morning, all, sorry for being late," she said brightly, still looking down, "where are we on the breakfast?"
She looked up to see that Aries and Leo were not up yet. It was just Sagittarius in the kitchen.
Oh God, it was just Sagittarius in the kitchen. He'd been left unsupervised. They'd left him unsupervised.
And yet the kitchen was just fine. Maybe she'd been too quick to judge.
"Morning," she greeted Hotaru with a smile "Just you at the moment? You've gotten a lot done."
It was true. Considering that there was only one person in the kitchen at the time, Hotaru had done quite a good job. She couldn't fault him.

Leo "It is my duty to protect you." ◢ ♚ ╸◇╺ ♚ ◣ While the morning was typically this thing, as a feline zodiac, he was not the first one up, the Gemini twins usually finding a way to somehow beat him at that exact title. However, he was up quicker than Hotaru was, and the rest of the zodiacs for that matter, getting dressed and ready rather quickly. Rather than showering in the morning, he tended to shower at night so he wouldn't take up any hot water for anyone else in the morning with the hectic rush to get ready for school. Tadashi had his hair brushed, his teeth clean and his school uniform ready quite quickly, in the span of less than seven minutes. Yes, he timed himself on how quickly he could get ready and he appeared to be getting faster with each morning, even if by only a second or two.
His concern was not to go downstairs with everyone, not this morning. Monday was the start of a new week, which meant his first duty was to the most disturbing and cruel individual that he knew. Cold, calculating and ruthless, was this person- no, this creature. As Leo, he was the King of the Zodiacs, he was their leader, their protector. It was his duty to keep them trained, keep them healthy, keep them safe, keep them happy. So while it was his day to cook, it was also his secondary duty. First, he would go to pay his respects to this... creature, this insanely cruel master of the evil, the dark of the night.
Pride.
Not wanting to disturb anyone or have any questions as to where he was going, Tadashi opened his window and climbed out of it with extremely silent and agility, landing softly with a small grunt on the frost-covered ground. It was quite a bit cold today, but that didn't quite concern him too much. He'd have to make sure that everyone wore something a little warmer before they all headed off to school. However, the pained yelp and then screech from Hotaru didn't go past his ears and he would make sure to correct that kind of behavior quickly when he returned.
For now, there was only one thing on his mind, one thing that he would focus on right now. That was the safety of his group, the safety of everyone. His concern was to make sure that the looming threat was to be kept at bay, to be kept satisfied. He might be just delaying the inevitable, but it was more time to keep everyone strengthened, to give everyone a little more of training, to get them a little more cared for. If it meant being that creature's friend and playing a role that he didn't like, it didn't matter. He would be there to do it in a heart-beat. For his family. There would be no one to say that Leo the Lion wasn't loyal.
Walking through the forest along a hidden trail that was typically only used by him, the eighteen year old made his way down to the city, brushing himself off and then taking in a deep breath. Lucky him, to know where the nest of beasts lay, right? He could just pull a hidden attack, you'd think, and get rid of the dark pests that plagued this world. If only it were that easy. As powerful as he was and as powerful as his family was, there was no way that they would be able to pull off such a thing. The zodiacs were not made to kill, they were made to protect. You cut off one head of this dreaded serpent and two more would grow back. Everyone had the deadly sins within them, and all it took was an influencing individual with immense power to wake up their most prominent one. There was no way that they'd be able to take down Pride, and there was no surprising him. He could see everywhere, anywhere and appear at any given time.
"I'm here."
In his mind, there was no need to say words unless there was a direct thing that was needed to be said. Not a word was wasted when he spoke and he got right to the point when he spoke. However, there was one person that he tended to speak around more than usual, though perhaps it was just to keep this person appeased. It was almost humiliating at how fast he was to bow down and kneel to someone of such a incredible power and strength. But it was a price he was willing to pay, he was willing to set down his pride (how ironic) if it meant to keep his group of zodiacs, his twelve family members, safe another day, another week.
"Ah, the King's here! Welcome, oh mighty one," a mocking voice jeered from the doorway, the main door opening. Kenzy Sakura stood there in his typical attire, giving a mocking bow with a cruel smile on his lips. "Someone's been expecting you. A little early, aren't 'cha, neko-chan?" Walking inside, Tadashi didn't respond to the jeers tossed at him, his gaze focused ahead. He was untouchable, luckily, but there was still a part of him waiting for the day when that call was thrown off and he might never return to the other zodiacs. Still, a price he was willing to pay, even now. "Aw, you're no fun, as always. Anyways, I'm off to go check on your twins!" A bluff that Leo knew. Envy the Jealous did not know whom the Gemini twins were. As a part of the deal until fate decided that they meet. Which he was avoiding as much as possible.
Kenzy's face showed annoyance and he gritted his teeth a little at Tadashi' indifference as he went down the stairs into the dark abode of the seven most dangerous individuals to exist. "You never give a reaction... how boring. Well, it's a good thing that I'm switching to your school, huh? Maybe I'll see what makes your squirm then." That made the King of the Zodiacs pause in his step for a second and then glance back at the powerful creature behind him that was trying to pick a fight, get him upset or just give a reaction at all. "Oh? Did I strike a ner-"
"Good luck in your new school, Sakura-kun," was his answer that interrupted Kenzy's gleeful sneer, which seemed to annoy him. Ignoring any more words from Invidia, Tadashi walked down to the large living space of the Deadly Seven. Waiting by the entrance area, he put his hands behind his back in a formal manner and lifted his chin, waiting for the evil of all evils to walk out into view, noticing the shadows becoming darker and surrounding more of an area than normal. "Ohayōgozaimasu, Chiba-sama." The tall individual bowed down and knelt a little in a very formal manner, closing his eyes as he bowed, and then knelt down soon afterwards as formally as possible.

The Gemini Twins "We don't hang out with anyone and we certainly won't hang out with you." 〤 ⇀↠ 〤 ↞↼ 〤
“I’ll believe that once your actions start coordinating with your words.”
How... irritating. Those words, to say the least, got on their nerves. If they were to play along, they would have said that opposite one was Katashi and the other was Satoshi. However, they went to the confusing lengths of mixing up their zodiac, which was the point of them saying "don't bother, we don't want you to know". Their attitude seemed to shift from slightly playful and interested to annoyance and perhaps a touch of a stronger emotion.
"How rude. You can't tell us apart so why would you bother? Katashi could be the Cat or the Tiger, Satoshi could be the Tiger or the Cat, and none of you would know the difference. We work together and our abilities only work when we can be near one another, so what's the point in trying? Don't make a fool of yourself any more than you are, Pieces. Try as you might, you won't be able to tell us apart and you won't be able to unless we distinctly make it disgustingly obvious. Katashi's voice, Satoshi's voice, his actions, our actions, they're all the same. A statement as rude as that can't be verified if you don't know who is who in the first place. If our own mother can't tell us apart, what makes you think that you ever could?"
They were irritated and their dismissive and slightly agitated tone of voice could prove just that. If they were in their Celestial forms, their tails would be lashing in unison like a cat would be when it had enough of you getting near it or trying to touch its tail. Their stormy blue gaze held a sort of warning, signalling to back off from such a statement and the topic in general. Neither twin looked happy at the moment nor did they look content with that. As irritated as they were, they still weren't angry, as if they were, they would full on assault her and would have done so quite a bit ago. Perhaps it was a childish lash out at her not believing their words, or just irritation in general upon the topic.
“Yes, I suppose theoretically you could be right. Even so, even if it may not be possible for me, somewhere, someday, there may be someone who’ll be able to tell you two apart the moment they see you. But this is for certain: if you remain in your own world, you may never be able to meet those people.”
What... an interesting thing to be said. Hand in hand, they squeezed the other's gently, reminding the other that they were there. Their irritation seemed to leave them and a bit of surprise had entered those blue feline orbs of their, focused on what the female was saying. That surprise was by something that they hadn't been quite told before. Really, was that even possible? There were billions of people in this world, but was it really true that one person would be able to tell them apart so easily?
Really... what a interesting idea.
"We don't believe in fairy tales," Katashi stated, in a dismissive tone, closing his eyes and quickly covering that initial bit of surprise, waving her off, as if he had grown bored of her already. He was quick to make it show that he wasn't a fan of her company any longer, like a cat that wanted to be pet, but not too long. He had enough of her attention for now and if she didn't leave him, he'd bite.
"Who would be stupid enough to even attempt at telling us apart that quickly anyway? What a foolish thing to say," Satoshi backed up, still using Katashi's voice tone just as his brother was using his own voice tone to keep it mixed up. He was quick to wave her off as well, crossing his legs at the same time that Katashi did, his tone being in agreement of his twin's, not wanting her attention any longer either.
Their words about them being bored seemed to dissuade her enough to leave them in peace, which they gave a soft outward sigh at. Peace to be left alone to their own devices. Still, they exchanged looks and stared at one another, the same idea running through their head at what had been stated. Their own little world... even so, it was the zodiacs, the others and them. That was it. Such a chance of them meeting an individual that would be able to tell them apart was extremely small, next to impossible. No one would be able to do such a thing, right? They had been told it was impossible. Why open up to someone when they couldn't tell you apart? If there was such a person... maybe it was childish of them to get their hopes up, but deep down, there was a hope to meet them.
Their attention turned to Kohaku when there was a question about Leo. How curious that the King himself wasn't down to help with cooking yet. They glanced at the zodiac of Scorpio and then back at each other, silently agreeing to go pester the great Lion himself to get his rear end up and moving. How unusual for him to sleep in. Shifting into their Celestial forms and then vanishing in thin air, they moved up the stairs and navigated their way into Tadashi's room, hand-in-hand as they reappeared in their physical forms.
"Kisaragi, it's time for you-" Katashi started to say in his normal voice, his bangs being fixed to his regular side when he was in his evaporated form. However, he stopped as he realized the room was empty, the bed made perfectly and everything as straight and clean as it could possibly be.
"Tadashi?" Satoshi asked, peering around. It wasn't like him to pull a prank. Sure enough, as Katashi looked under the bed and the younger twin looked in the closet, there wasn't a sign of Leo the Lion. They looked at each other and shrugged, a bit confused. Of course, the cool breeze caught their attention and they glanced over at the window. "And here I thought we were the ones who liked to sneak around..." Standing by the window, they noticed that Tadashi wasn't anywhere to be seen. They closed the window and then disappeared once more, checking around the house in every room as well as the room for Leo with no luck.
A few minutes later, they appeared back in the sitting room, just as they had been before, though reversed to their normal spots. Back into their human form the looked back at Kohaku, shrugging at the same time. "His Highness isn't here right now," they both stated, pulling out their phones and playing on them once more, as if this didn't concern them.
And really, it didn't too much. Tadashi was known for sometimes wandering off to do his own thing. Maybe it was a Leo thing, but they faintly recalled him saying, when they had caught him wandering off, that he had business to attend to. It really didn't make them worry too much as he normally wouldn't be gone that long. Sometimes he had a cut or bruise when he returned, but nothing big. And since the big guy wasn't one for words, they wouldn't really get too much out of him.
Of course, bursting in and rushing to the kitchen was the cook whom was obviously late. Their judgmental stares followed her as she made her way to the kitchen. "You're late Astuko." It was a little rude how they dismissed any honorifics with a human person typically and weren't very respectful towards them, even the three whom worked for them. They didn't really have much patience for humans in general. They moved to the kitchen entrance, peering in with one on each side of the doorway. "We let you in on our secret as well as even pay you to help us and this is how you repay us."
"Disgraceful," Katashi sniffed in a bit of a aggressive tone. "Disgusting," Satoshi stated soon after Katashi, not missing a beat and having the same tone of voice.
"Don't make a habit of it, Satou-san." They were... not nice in the least bit. Shifting into their Celestial forms, they disappeared as soon as their clothing had changed, not giving anyone a chance to even look at their forms and attempt to tell them apart. They weren't in the mood for it. They disappeared and reappeared on the roof, their tails twitching a bit as they watched the sun slowly rise into the sky. They'd go back inside once they were to see Tadashi coming back. But until then, they were to be left alone.

Sagittarius "Someday I'll be strong enough to hug the entire world, so then everyone will be happy."
━ ★ ❀ ✿ ♞ ❀ ✿ ★ ━
He hadn't started a fire in the time that he was focusing on making the food. He hadn't stabbed himself or cut himself while he was making the food. He hadn't broken anything in the time that he was making the food. Everything was seeming to go okay.
Hotaru was chopping vegetables, cutting up fruit, starting on boiling the water, making both coffee and tea, doing multiple things at once. The coffee was something that made itself once you crushed the beans and started them in the pot, the tea was simple enough with the water and then just keeping the water in the pot at a simmer, it wasn't too difficult for him. Chopping up the vegetables and fruits, he nearly forgot about the fish.
It was a mystery as to why he was alone in the kitchen, but he appreciated the thought that everyone thought he could do it alone. Or at least, that's how he thought of it in his own cheerful, optimistic way. His bad morning was forgotten quickly as he focused on making breakfast for everyone and his cheerful self had returned with a cheerful hum and smile as he did everything. However... it wasn't exactly going as well as he thought.
He put in too much miso for the soup as well as nori, making it unbalanced and a bit over-powering, so when he tried it, he gagged a bit from the taste and gave a small sigh. What a waste... Just as he threw away the first batch of his attempt for miso soup, the sound of someone entering the house and then the kitchen made his sea-colored eyes light up even more with a happy smile towards the girl who rushed into the kitchen.
"Ah! Tuko-chan!" he gleefully greeted happily. "Good mornin' to ya as well!"
Hotaru wasn't one to miss out on the small details, such as that initial panic that Astuko seemed to have at seeing only him in the kitchen so far. He gave a bit of a happy chuckle at her compliment as he started up the water for his second attempt at making miso soup. Of course, there was a bit of dishes that were beginning to pile up in the sink from him going around and doing various things for breakfast.
"Ah, arigatou gozaimasu!" Formal, as always, Sagittarius he gave a small bow towards her, happy about her compliment towards him getting quite a bit done. "I was planinn' on makin'-"
Oh. The twins. His smile kind of faded and there was a slight disappointed look on his face, almost a saddened look at their aggressive words towards the cook, staring at them and then back at the girl whom had come to help him. He put on a smile again, shaking his head a little. Ah, they were still aggressive and unwelcoming towards others that weren't a part of their "family" as Hotaru and Tadashi seemed to like to call it.
"Don't mind them, their tolerance is still quite small after all. They'll warm up to ya, just ya wait! Don't worry 'bout bein' late, ya weren't that far behind schedule an' even managed to beat Leo an' Aries inta the kitchen. That in itself should be quite an accomplishment, yeah?" Hotaru was quick to reverse the twins' words with his cheerful smile and friendly tone. Giving her a pat on the shoulder, none too gentle no matter how hard he might try, he gave a small laugh. "Now! C'mon! Let's make breakfast! I was plannnin' on makin' miso-soup with a bit of rice, nori for both the soup an' the rice, grilled tofu an' fish an' a side of fruit! That sounds good, right Tuko-chan?" As always, he was one to make things... seem a bit nicer. He wasn't going to let the twins get too harsh on her and wanted to try and make her feel welcome and included. Tadashi wouldn't have been happy for her to be late, but he wouldn't have gotten after her either, in Hotaru's mind. Definitely not like the twins had.
The twins were... always concerning, for Hotaru. He had a bit of trouble with them at first as well, they were even more aggressive towards everyone else than they had been towards Astuko just this morning. They were a terror to live with, but eventually... somehow they had begun to warm up to everyone. They weren't as mean as they had started off as and even shared jokes with everyone and played around with everyone. While they weren't nice, still, they were more than what they had been.
"Tadashi ain't down here yet, so that means ya won't get in trouble. I promise."

“Oh, yeah, that all sounds great,” Astuko had smiled “I’ll work on the soup if you just work on the rice and things for me-“
She was interrupted by the twins who, as ever, were rude. At first Astuko had struggled not to take it to heart but now she barely reacted, just watched as the two left the doorway to go and do whatever it was those two did.
And, as usual, Hotaru was being sweet and trying to cheer her up. How sweet he was to her. If she were honest, even if he could be a disaster in the kitchen, he was one of the most accepting Celestials and he was always trying to make her feel at home.
She offered him a smile, to reassure both herself and him that she was fine. Just fine.
The pat on the shoulder was a little bit hard but Astuko was used to this by now and she’d learned how to hide the pain in order to preserve Hotaru’s feelings. She didn’t want him to be upset by the fact that he wasn’t really too gentle.
“Oh, yes, I try to ignore them,” Astuko replied as she headed over to start working on the miso soup “they’ve always been like that. Well, I lie, actually, they’ve at least bothered to learn my name,”
They didn’t do so before, simply calling her ‘cook’ or anything else they could think. She supposed they’d gradually realised that she was there to stay and so they’d decided it was worth learning her name. Even if they didn’t use honorifics most of the time.
“Tadashi is usually a little late, thankfully,” Astuko replied with a relieved sigh “but, you know, everyone’s late every now and then. What’s he going to do, anyway? Fire me? He knows that I’m only here because I know too much. There isn’t much he can really do without risking me spilling the beans, as it were.”
She said this jokingly, but it was true. If Tadashi were to fire her, there would be nothing stopping the young cook from telling everyone what she knew. So why would he do so?
Of course, it opened the doors to somewhat worse punishments, but Leo was not unreasonable and she doubted he would do anything too drastic if he found out. And he wouldn’t.
Thoufh then again, oculd she rely on the twins to keep her secret?
(Sorry for length, on mobile)

Scorpio & Pisces "Supporting another's success won't ever dampen yours." "Be whoever you want to be." resilient, dramatic, wise, passionate erratic, mysterious, alluring, talented — ❦ ❦ ❦ —
"His Highness isn't here right now,” she heard, only to see Kohaku tip his head to the side. For the briefest moment, his eyebrows knitted together, creating a small furrow, and the look in his warm, brown eyes were, she realized, highly focused, stern, and reserved. It was as if those simple words spoken by the twins had locked him in a long trail of thought, and she caught sight of him resting his eyes on the door of their home - the very door that would lead them to the world illustrated for them outside. Had he noted something? Sometimes, as effervescent as he appeared to be, even she had a difficult time reading exactly what he was thinking, especially when his gaze took on such an astute glint to them. Whatever his thoughts were, she could assume that they were most likely surrounding Tadashi. His atmosphere had shifted only after the Lion had been mentioned, after all.
There were rare moments she caught sight of him like this without the usual quirk of his lips, his expression serious, steady, impassive, and acute. Even she wasn’t entirely certain of what to make of it. He was so passionate and boastful and animated most of the time that she sometimes forgot that he was capable of feeling and thinking while possessing the intuition of a wise predator. It seemed that most individuals only noticed the vigorous persona he portrayed, along with the sheer affection he displayed for trivial matters and people in general. She’d been with him long enough to understand that this ebullient disposition of his wasn’t a mask; no, it was the real deal, all right, he wasn’t the kind of individual who wore a tight mask or a veil. And yet, there was still more to him than him than just being easily moved by someone else’s story or reacting whimsically, melodramatically, to someone insulting his artwork.
He was, she supposed, a secret-bearer who possessed secrets of his own. Or perhaps his own secrets weren’t even considered to be confidential for himself; it made no sense, yet in her mind, it also did. He was simple yet complex, supportive like a pillar and certainly near those who needed him yet so far all the same. What a strange character, indeed.
She watched then, as he rubbed the back of his neck with the serious expression of his disappearing the moment it had appeared, looking over in her direction.
“Twins?” He found himself saying; he’d been nearby enough to hear chips of the conversation that had occurred. It wasn’t an inquiry that truly regarded them entirely, but rather a way to state his concern for all three of them together as a whole.
“My fault,” he watched her say simply while she, with her still-softened gaze, looked over at the spot where the two had vanished with a small smile unfolding across her lips. He couldn’t quite touch nor describe what the curve of her lips seemed to say, though; even for himself, it was impossible to read. It was a mixture of different things, he supposed; things that, if you hadn’t been around her for too long, you wouldn’t be able to pick up from the hidden and veiled Celestial. “I pushed them a little too far.”
It was blatantly evident that she was as collected as usual, undaunted; it was rare for her to be shaken even during the most strenuous plights, after all. But there was something else to her that remained indescribable, and he decided that he would leave it at that for now. After all, he’d always had a feeling that, while she was more than willingly affectionate of those around herself, she’d always been closed-off herself, concealed behind a steely barrier that sternly drove others away. It was as if she was open to the idea of worrying for the wellbeing of others, yet disliked the idea of letting others too close, remaining hidden, yet not hidden at the same time.
“Hopefully, someday, they’ll find that person, even if it may not necessarily be any of us here,” he said as he rested both of his hands on his waist while glancing over at the spot they’d last vanished.
“Hopefully," he saw her say, the light in her gaze unchanging.

♠ / ☾ ☽ ☾/ ♠
It was not Pride himself who emerged from the shadows that yawned over Tadashi’s crouched form just yet, but rather a lanky young man with an appearance that could most certainly be mistaken for that of Lust’s upon first glance; there was something oddly charming about him, whether it be the way he stood with his hand resting on his waist as he deftly raked his hand through his hair with one fluid motion, or the way he heavily leaned his weight on his right foot as he silently surveyed his surroundings.
His serene and yet sharp eyes locked onto the bent form of Leo, as if he were contemplating upon whether if he would speak or remain silent, though he simply toyed with a strand of his own hair before letting his hand rest next to his side soon afterward. There was something peculiarly carefree about the air that encircled him, though it was quickly devoured by the mirthless chill of the shadows that surrounded their environment. He then tipped his head to the side with a nefarious glimmer in his eyes that seemed to gauge the Lion thoroughly. Finally, with a wicked smile, he said, “Came here again to delay the inevitable, I see.”
Greed.
The sin’s life was driven by his avaricious desire for anything and everything, and contrary to the superficial character he currently posed, currently, the harsh light of ambition was evident in his orbs. Out of all the Seven Deadly Sins, however, he was one of the - if not - the most languid and sanguine a Sin could get. It was palpable in the way he carried himself with a keenness that seemed to separate him from pure malice; in fact, it was difficult to sense any pernicious trace about him, given how lackadaisical he appeared to be. He held the resemblance of a house cat stretching its arms and tail to the first hint of a new morning, for now, anyway. Easygoing yet wicked, charming, yet indifferent. The air Greed possessed was certainly and discernibly different from that of the shadows.
Wisps of black smoke, uncannily flickering like the static screen of a broken monitor, slithered over the polished floor, reaching the feet of the Lion. It was as if the shadows were ready to engulf everything that was swallowed in its omnipotent embrace; even Greed’s form became hazy as little makeshift arms slithered around his ankles and knees. Though the more obliging Sin didn’t move and his expression remained impassive, almost easygoing, there was a small glimmer in his eyes. The dark streaks continued to unravel over the walls like the feathers of a peacock, as if to absorb the shelves and the desks and the vases.
For a moment, there was a long, unnerving period of silence. Everything held its breath; not even the air of the room seemed to breathe. Tension was almost entirely tangible, and a strange pressure weighed down on the shoulders of those who were alive, as if a very heavy blanket were being pulled over their heads, inviting them into a long, blissful period of utter darkness.
It was then an unnervingly light-hearted and sweet voice spoke, quiet, yet dripping with venom. “That’s rather cold of you to say, Tadashi.” In the midst of the darkness that slithered across the entire room, greedily wrapping around his wrists and ankles, if anyone took a close look, the silhouette of another individual wasn’t impossible to spot, and neither was the way how his soft lips stretched into a smile. Though his eyes were impossible to see, it was most likely certain that the curl of his lips wasn’t reaching his eyes. “Haven’t I told you that if we’re to be on benign terms, it’d be better for you to refer me as something else less formal?”

Sagittarius "Someday I'll be strong enough to hug the entire world, so then everyone will be happy."
━ ★ ❀ ✿ ♞ ❀ ✿ ★ ━
Hotaru looked at the girl and tilted his head a little, noticing that she thought she could tell the secret so easily. For some reason, this made him laugh like it was a pretty funny joke, even though it wasn't too much of one. There was a bright smile on his face and he gave a soft laugh, cheerful as always, having to stop cutting the oranges that he was currently cutting up so that he wouldn't bring harm to himself or to her, for that matter.
"Ah, no... if he were to fire ya, Tuko-chan, he'd erase your memory," he managed to say, standing up straight and giving an amused sigh. He smiled at her, still strangely cheerful at that. While he was cheerful, sometimes, he was a little too cheerful, especially for certain subjects like that. Of course, the thing about erasing memories made him a bit nervous due to the fact that he quit school for that very reason. "If word were to get out 'bout us, we'd all be gone for. Do ya know why we exist, Tuko-chan?" He looked at her with a bit of a friendly look, but his sea-colored eyes held a soft seriousness.
"We were made by Leo 'imself, who was made by the gods. Long ago, since the beginnin' of time, light and darkness have balanced the earth. While bad things are powerful, we aren't so powerful. We've always been told to train harder, be more careful, be wary of those we meet by Tadashi. He is always lookin' out for us, kinda like a father. Most of us were rejected by our parents, after all." There was a bitter-sweet smile on the seventeen year old's lips for a second as he looked down at the fruit he was chopping. "We exist to protect the power and keep everythin' in line, all of us havin' a different purpose. We are the incarnations of thirteen of the most pwoerful beings to exist, Celestial Beings. It's our job, since the original ones had been defeated so long ago by the Dark Ones and humans alike, to keep this world safe. I don't know exactly the full story, but it's somethin' that Tadashi has said. He spoke 'bout these "Dark Ones" an' how we gotta be careful." The cheerful tone of voice came back to Hotaru and he gave a bright smile as he returned to separating the orange slices and putting them neatly with the apple slices. "He was granted the ability of alterin' memories from the Dragon Zodiac, so that he can keep us safe. If word got out 'bout us, then we'd be in trouble an' there's no tellin' who would be a friend or who would be a foe. As much as we are protectors, we're fragile an' if this were ever ta happen, we would barely be able to protect ourselves, muchless, the world from darkness. So, in the chance Dashi-chan were to ever fire ya, he'd erase your memory so that this family of ours stays safe. Ya understand why our secret is so valuable, now?"
Going quiet, the young zodiac continued to chop up vegetables for the soup as well as fruits as a side. He didn't really understand what was so dangerous, but if it concerned Tadashi, then it was more than enough reason to trust him. Which was why Hotaru quit school. They already had enough lessons and were knowledgeable of quite a few languages, so he wasn't entirely really having a reason to go to school. He'd be a second year, he'd imagine, in high school. He knew that Tadashi was a third year and the twins were first years. But, of course, he wouldn't really want to go to school.
"Dashi-chan said that we're made for a job much more than what someone could imagine. While we're pretty cool, we were born for more than just lookin' cool with our Celestial forms and bein' able to fight well. We were born with more of a reason than to talk ta certain animals. We have a special society of our own that keeps us safe. They train us, teach us and give us unlimited resources to do what we'd like. We even have our own special doctors." Hotaru winced and gave a soft squeak as he cut his finger a little shaking his hand a little and then glanced over at Astuko, a curious look to his sea colored eyes. "Say, have ya ever seen what our blood looks like? It ain't normal." He held out his finger a little, showing her. Though it was a small cut, a small bead had formed of his finger. At first glance, it looked normal. But upon inspection, there was a glimmer to it, golden flecks within the red that almost made it shine. "Celestial blood is golden, but human blood is red. So our bodies have a combination of both an' it takes the main color as whatever form we're in. Right now, mine is mostly red an' it's generally that way. But if I were to get cut while in Celestial form, it'd turn golden with flecks of red in it. Pretty cool, right?" He seemed pretty content.
Hotaru was one of the zodiacs who had a huge pain tolerance, being able to walk off a lot of injuries. A broken bone would definitely slow him down, but most injuries didn't really phase him too much. And he wasn't one who got too scared of blood either, though he didn't like eating any animals, hence why he was a vegetarian. Influenced by his zodiac, he was more of a herbivore and avoided anything to do with animals or their products, though he didn't mind milk and cheese. Anything else, however, he wouldn't touch and tended to make his own treats to avoid having anything like eggs in his food.

Leo "It is my duty to protect you." ◢ ♚ ╸◇╺ ♚ ◣ Greed.
It was always a thought of his, a curious gamble within his own mind that tended to wander. As the only one of the zodiacs to know the full terror of the Deadly Seven, he had kept it all but a secret from the others and tried to keep it that way. They already had so much put on their shoulders, this would be a frightening exposure if they were to find out. Since he already knew all of the Seven, he knew what to expect, but the rest of them? He would not let them know. Besides, it was... a part of his deal with the Evil of all Evils.
The Deadly Sin of Greed had always made him curious. Stories indicated that he would sometimes help them defeat the Deadly Seven in past generations, others told of the dark bidding of such a creature. It was always different, each incarnation was different, it seemed. All stories of the Seven were banned by Leo himself, a long time ago, to prevent fear from spreading across the Thirteen Zodiacs until it was proper time for them to know. While they didn't know what they were up against, they weren't plagued by fear of what might happen if they find the Zodiacs. Oh, but the irony of that statement.
Pride had already found them.
It was Leo's job to protect his family, his group of Celestial zodiacs. That weight was passed from the past Leo to the one whom was kneeling now, ignoring the cold feeling of the shadows around him. Like Pride had created the Deadly Seven, Leo had created the Thirteen Zodiacs. Of course, Leo and Pride were the first to recognize and find each other. While Tadashi was trying to delay as much as possible, as Greed had said, he was only delaying the inevitable.
"Ah. Gomen, Shou." He raised his head and slowly stood up, looking down at the form of Pride. He was someone you wouldn't, nearly couldn't imagine being the source of such destruction, such terror and darkness. The monster of the night, the terror in your mind, the creature that housed all suffering and pain. Adorable, small and completely adorable, the face of Superbia was misleading as the very least. A higher pitched cute voice, small helpless stature, there was no way you would think that this little boy was the most deadly and powerful being to exist. The frightening form that could barely be seen now somewhat showed the true terror that this small little creature was.
As expected, Tadashi wasn't one whom was much for words. Simple statements were all that he seemed to say, not even finding any reason to respond to Greed himself. His dark eyes peered into the shadows, the darkness that his feline eyes couldn't quite see past. As a being of pure light, he could easily go against one with shadows. However, the ironic thing was that without light, there could be no darkness, and without darkness, there could be no light. Their powers technically depended on one another.
The King of the Zodiacs had come to visit his little "friend" as he was often called. His duty was to protect the Zodiacs and to do that, he tended to do as Shou Chiba asked. To avoid any suspicion, he had "befriended" the little creature and was often seen with the small boy's form by his side. While it might have been observed that Shou hung around to keep an eye on the Zodiacs, it was likewise for Tadashi to keep an eye on the Deadly Seven.
"I have come to visit." Such a simple term, really. But he was here and he was here only for one reason. The small, yet adorable and cute form of Shou Chiba, the true source of his terror and fears. It was funny how misleading this little creature was. The ultimate show of how one could not judge by their looks. While Shou looked adorable, it was ironic that Tadashi should look terrifying. Yet, they both held the opposite personalities of how they actually looked.
The irony of it all.

Greed "Greed may not be good, but it's not so bad, either. You humans think Greed is just for money and for power, but everyone wants something they don't have." a v a r i t i a — ❦ ❦ ❦ —
Now, as his appearance suggested, he was admittedly easygoing. He could and would most certainly willingly say it himself; he wasn’t intrigued with the idea of eliminating other individuals needlessly (especially innocent civilians), nor of a chase that could occur. A small “hunting game,” as some of the other Sins put it. For some peculiar reason, that had never been the strings that had tugged at him, luring him to the vicious kill or be killed scenario that seemed to have ensnared quite a few of them.
He much preferred to be out and about sweeping up girls (and guys, he wasn’t discriminatory) left and right, or languidly enjoying a long nap or kicking back and watching a movie, though, call him old fashioned, he found himself engrossed more often in older films than the newer ones that were being released today.
Oh, but he was Greed, after all; there was the annoyingly vibrant instinct within him that urged him to possess everything and anything at the palm of his hand. Riches? Check. Money? Check. Women and men? Check. Talent? Check. Looks? Check. Every delicate dish there was to feast? Check and a half. Authority? Well, he was still working on that. The shadows that greedily held him in place (he was being literal, it was almost impossible to move unless you wanted your neck detached from your shoulders) were impossible to escape from, after all. No one crossed Pride.
And one minuscule misstep was all it took for those honey-brown eyes of his to glow callously.
In a way, he was nothing but a delicate (funny, he was supposed to have the ability of shifting his body so that not even diamond could pierce him, too) thing in the presence and iron grasp of the first Sin, he mused to himself as he eyed the Lion once more upon hearing him speak. The tall individual had quite a velvety voice with a pair of calm and serious eyes; how come he hadn’t been introduced to the charming lad before? That was slightly aggravating, actually. Internally, he heaved a long sigh. If only he hadn’t been born this way, as a sin, maybe he would’ve been able to meet the tall individual sooner with different circumstances. Leo didn’t seem like a party-goer, but, oh well, he could deal with quiet types.
“We’re aware of it, your Highness,” he answered with a lazy smile spreading across his lips. “What else would’ve you have come here for, after all?” A birthday party? A cup of tea? A playdate? Yeah, right. The atmosphere in this room indicated anything but a welcoming event.
In any case, the demon himself never said that he was disinterested with the thought of bloodshed, but he had a feeling that Pride was well aware of his thoughts; it seemed that the shadows had a deathly grasp around anything and everyone, including the zodiacs. Poor things, it seemed they weren’t even aware that their every movement was being silently watched or followed. Or that a good deal of their personalities and characteristics were known by this monster of a being.
If he hadn’t been so occupied with the thought that the Shadow was more than willing to slaughter those he considered as an ally, he thought that he would’ve felt a twinge of sympathy for them. Unfortunately, as of now, he prioritized his own life. With his weight still leaning on his foot and his hand resting on his waist, he tossed a few stray strands of his hair away from his watchful gaze. He didn’t think that was too unreasonable to say, now, was it?
The moment the Lion had risen to his feet, the black wisps of smoke seemed to materialize around him even more, looming over him entirely; it was almost as if the King of all zodiacs was nothing but a marionette; a toy; a plaything to control left and right. “You don’t have to be so tense, Tadashi,” the sweet voice from the shadows purred.
Personally, though he kept up his impassive face, he could feel a certain chill crawl up his spine and neck. As connected as they were, he didn’t know what to think of the eldest Sin. Can’t you do something about that mismatching face and personality of yours? The thought flickered past his mind briefly as he narrowed his eyes a little in thought, gauging the Lion that stood before them. Was it just him, or did he feel the temperature drop even further the moment his thoughts ended?
“Haven’t I already told you before? You’re safe here for the time being. There are still many things that you have to do for me, after all.” Behind him, he felt someone - or rather something - smiling. “They still offer entertainment, too.”
The little devil, he thought as his shoulders sagged. He could even say that deep down, very deep down, he felt a sense of what bordered on empathy for Tadashi - that was his name, right? That was interesting; he’d never thought that he’d feel something close to it in the presence of a zodiac, after all. The air was thick with tension and it was difficult to breathe (it felt as if all the air was being slowly sucked out his lungs, compressing them to tiny, tiny boxes), but he still found it almost ironically amusing that the intimidatingly tall zodiac resided with the light while baby face (he felt the temperature drop again) here controlled the dark.
The enervating silence was only broken by the saccharine voice, once more. “Say, Tadashi, you have quite a few perceptive individuals within your family.” The juxtaposition that was being elaborately displayed was more than uncanny, and he didn’t want to think about just who these ‘perceptive individuals’ were. Briefly, shortly, he wondered whether if the Lion was aware of just who the Shadow was referring to.
The next thing he knew, Pride was standing directly next to him, his small hand gripping the hem of his sleeve. Dastard, he silently cursed in his head - he hadn’t even noticed or felt the Shadow approaching his side; he’d been silent like a leaf on a tide. The notion almost made him nauseous, and he glanced down to see the flickering mirage-like illustration of golden hair.
It was, however, the Shadow’s eyes that truly made him stop. They were large and vacant like that of a porcelain doll, but the soft smile that had stretched across his lips remained frozen in place.
“You should be a little more careful about deciding when and how to meet me, okay?”
