Drake, Jace, Maeve, and Annabelle are setting up for the dance in the gym.
Ash is at the beach with Chase and a couple minor characters Ariat and I created. ^.^))
Jace laughed. "Yeah, calming down isn't Drake's strong suit." He smiled, kind of liking this Annabelle already. She seemed nice. "'Bonjour'? Isn't that French? Wait... are you the French exchange student?"

Que. I'm also pretty good on the bass guitar, and it just so happens I brought Susan." Annabelle pulled out her bass. It had a checkerboard pattern, but white instead of red.

"Nice," Jace said, admiring the instrument. "Uh, I just have an acoustic guitar, but it's back in the music room right now. I could go get it and we could practice? I can also always play the piano... or a keyboard, because that would probably be easier."
"Alright!" Drake led the way over to the boxes and opened one up. "Okay, so... wanna do tablecloths first? We've got orange, black, and for some reason, purple." He said, pulling one of the purple tablecloths out.

(Mia: eh it's not that great. Sorry Jace. Do you want Sophia or Jack to come live with you?) "Obviously," Chase said. He laughed. "You see, Arlo and I always make a big show about our costumes and this year will be the best they've ever been," he said. Really , they were just sheets with eye holes thrown over the boys' heads, but that was the fun of it. Make everyone think it would be spectacular and they end up getting that. "Check with Vincent on the whole twin thing. He might be up for it," Chase said, nudging her. He paid the ice cream man as he scooped up their cones and handed them back to the teenagers. Chase licked his and handed Victoria's over to her. "Cool. I'm always up for free Ice cream. What should we get up to now?" he asked. "Well, if you've got all these guys, maybe I should ask Jessica to the dance," Vincent said. He stuck out his tongue. "But it'd be disappoint to see you with a guy who didn't have my flawless appearances." He didn't really believe that, but Vincent was becoming more at ease with Ash and his banter showed it. "It was cool. Living off the grid and all that. I was always the rugged outdoors type," he said with a laugh. Actually hat wasn't true. They'd had a nice little place in a nice little town. He had worked hard, but hadn't lived off the grid. In fact, he curled up in blankets whenever it got too cold. "This place is nice too," Vincent said. "Maybe I'll tag along if you visit Alaska someday." ((Jace- Yes, I will take them both! ^.^)) "Ooh, I expect lots of glitter, then." Victoria joked. Although, glitter to her obviously did mean a big show. No one could look away if you were covered in glitter! Of course, no one would want to be by you, either, because glitter was impossible to remove from you. "I'll make sure to bring it up to him later tonight. Maybe he has a clever idea." She smiled and took the ice cream cone, giving it a quick lick. "Anytime," Victoria laughed. "I could eat ice cream all day." She frowned, thinking about what to do. "Well, we could go always head back to the beach." Ash gasped and dramatically threw a hand across her chest. "I'm hurt." She said with fake pain, before laughing. "Go ahead. She's already got a date." Ash smirked at him. She truly didn't care one way or another. Her goal was to have fun and hangout with as many random people as she possibly could. "Did you really?" Ash asked, her eyes widening at the idea. It sounded hard, but ultimately fun. She would love to give that a try -- especially after living with everything she could ever want for so long. It got boring after a while. "If you want to." She laughed. |

"There will be plenty of glitter," Chase assured her. She just didn't know that the glitter was from a prank instead of part of his costume. He'd talk to Ash to see if they should let the twins in on their plan. That would allow them to get out before getting covered in glitter. It sure was hard to get glitter off of stuff.
"You two could do something typical and boring. Thing 1 and Thing 2. Devil and Angel. Sun and Moon. Patrick and Spongebob," he suggested, listing off ideas he and Arlo had done. Arlo was not happy about being he angel but he'd lost Rock Paper Scissors. Chase took a few licks of his ice cream. "That's a good idea," Chas said.
Vincent rolled his eyes. "Guess I have to settle for the second prettiest girl. Ash, will you go to the dance with me?" he asked, his eyes sparkling as he asked her seriously. He wondered if Chase was being less oblivious to his sister's flirting this time around.
"Nah, we had a nice little place in this one town," he said. "Of course I did have a cabin that was kind of I the middle of nowhere. Me and a few friends spent a lot of time out there, so I did do all that cool rural stuff."

"Oh, I'm into a lot of different types of music. Not really rap or heavy metal, but anything else I like." Jace explained, and then his face turned bright red before he said the next part. "And I can play a lot of Bruno Mars."

"Oh perfect!" Victoria replied. The poor dear had no idea what was going to come at the dance. She truly thought it was just a costume, which she was excited for.
She wrinkled up her nose at the idea. "I think I'll pass on dressing up with Vince." It wasn't exactly an idea that she liked the thought of.
Ash, for the first time in her life, was at a loss for words. She had thought that this was what she wanted -- to go to the dance with Vincent. But now, with the option laid out before her, she realized that she really didn't. She had only met him once, for goodness sakes! And he was smooth with his words, but that was the kind of guy she didn't want to date.
Luckily, she heard her phone go off with some text. Although she was sure it was just a text from Drake or a cheerleader, she decided to use this moment to escape answering for the time being.
"I need to get that." Ash said and headed back to the beach. With her hands still wet, she picked up the phone to see who it was. Her dad, wondering why he got a call from the school saying she wasn't there. Well. She would probably be grounded, but oh well.
"I have to go. It's my dad." Without even waiting for his reply Ash pulled her shorts back on and pulled her shirt over her head. She didn't live terribly far from the beach, so it was an easy walk. "I'll, uh, see you tomorrow?" She asked and then walked away, sending a reply to her dad and then a text to Jace.

Drake's eyes lit up. "Oh my gosh, Maeve! You are a genius!" He started rummaging through other boxes until he pulled out a couple pairs of scissors, which he dropped on the ground beside the box, and then some glue and tap and -- best of all -- glitter. "Maeve, I genuinely love you right now." It was, of course, just Drake being Drake and actually held no power.

Drake nodded his head. "That is a good point. I didn't even think about time differences!" He'd never been on a plane or out of Westbrook, so he had no idea what jet lag, but he had stayed up for multiple nights in a row and if that didn't give him some idea of what Maeve was going through, then... well... it was crazy. "At least you're not totally miserable." He added with a laugh. "What are you going to the dance as?"

"Well, I can't help you out with what to be." Drake said with a laugh. He was going as a cat for... was it the third year in a row now? It was an easy costume, where all he did was put on cat ears and get Ash to paint a nose and whiskers on him. Sure, the costume looked horrible, but he didn't have enough money to buy a new one, or make one. "But I can totally go with you to buy a costume. Or get someone else to go with you. Like Jace's little sister. She's gonna have to get Jace a cool costume that covers his face anyway." Ash was a master of shopping.

Jace sighed. "That would be so much easier and more fun than Monster Mash. Here, let's start writing this stuff down." He started digging around in his backpack and eventually pulled out a notebook, which he flipped to a blank page, and wrote down the two songs that they already had decided. "Should we go with more hit singles of our generation?"

"Well," Drake frowned. He paused in cutting out pumpkin faces while he answered Maeve's question in a forum appropriate way. "The girls usually wear costumes that show as much skin as possible without getting them kicked out of school." He felt triumphant in that answer... that sad, sad answer.

"Sounds good to me." Jace laughed and wrote that down as well. "We're gonna have to do a lot of practice to be ready by this Friday." He grinned and looked at Annabelle. "Got an idea?"

"How about "Tonight, Tonight" by Hot Chelle Rae?" Annabelle started running out of ideas. She already knew how to play the bass parts of all the songs she chose.
