Oakstar gave a small nod and glanced around the camp. “So who did you have in mind for this patrol then? We should start gathering them soon I suppose.” He mused as he looked around at the awake warriors.

Icepaw grinned up at Breezefeather with an excited gleam in her eyes. “Great! I’ll be able to catch all kinds of prey then.” She purred confidently. The small apprenticed puffed out her chest as if already proud of an accomplishment she had yet to complete.

(So I put Ashlight as her mentor )

Ashlight glanced over his shoulder at his leader and deputy as they spoke. He wasn’t sure if he’d be needed for the patrol but decided that either way, he should take Silverpaw out for training. The warrior shook out his fur and got up to his paws as he trotted over to Silverpaw, spotting her as she emerged from the den. “Ready for training today, Silverpaw?” He asked as he approached the young cat.

"Fiiiine..." Silverpaw mewed, rolling her eyes and standing up. She stretched, arching her back.

Silverpaw stayed a bit behind. I can't mess up any more than I already have. I need to be the best star student!! This is serious!!

Ashlight lead the way out of camp. He fell silent after telling Silverpaw their training plans for the way and walked quietly through the forest. As they neared the training hallow, the salty smell of the ocean became stronger and much more pungent. He slipped into the small entrance that lead into the enclosed sandy hallow. The sand felt cool on his paw pads. Ashlight walked to the other side before turning to face his apprentice.”When you’re ready. I want you to try and attack me.” He said.

Pearcloud laid comfortably in the shade of camp. She watched as other cats discussed patrols and left the camp. She slowly got up to her paws and glanced around, wondering if she should join others.

Pearcloud noticed Tawnystreak walking towards her out of the corner of her gaze. She turned her head to greet the warrior. “Oh good morning Tawnystreak.” She greeted with a small smile. She shrugged her shoulders at his questioned. “No not yet. I think Oakstar and Cedarwing are still discussing them.” She said, nodding to the deputy and leader as they spoke. “You’re up earlier than I thought you’d be.” She mused, remembering he had been on the night patrol. The night patrols always meant a very late morning for the she-cat as she did enjoy her sleep.

Pearcloud gave a small nod of agreement. “True.. Once cats start waking up, the camp does get pretty noisy.” She said. Her blue gaze looked over the waking camp. She quite enjoyed the liveliness. “Yeah, maybe Cedarwing will go easy on you and send you out on a later patrol.” She replied with an optimistic tone. Pearcloud smirked and looked over at him. “But if he does try not to fall asleep while catching prey.” She joked.

Ashlight watched her as she backed up into the shadows. He kept alert and on guard as he waited for her to attack, curious to see what kind of technique she would use. He stood still waiting.
