It'd be more, like, kicking a plot along. It kind of occurred to me that there doesn't seem like there's a lot to do in the last solar system in the galaxy/universe where allegedly most of the population is already in hypersleep.)

(I've sort of got a plot in the works, which will be kicked off as soon as the characters leave for the seemingly ordinary mission.)

Nevertheless, I feel like it'd be a good idea to kick something off soon |D
I do have to ask though, the Abyss Initiative is a bit vague and unclear. It's purpose is plainly obvious -- the preservation of all remaining life in the galaxy and/or universe -- but I haven't quite gotten how they're planning to get there. )

(Part of that is because no one alive knows what's causing the stars to go out. And any expedition sent into dark space hasn't returned. Their mission is to gather strength, find what's killing the stars, and stop it. )

[Glad you clarified that about the stars burning out because I was wondering how that could happen sense new stars are born all the time. Cool beans. I posted a question on the joining page btw.\

(Right, useful context.) Before long, Argus' voice buzzed softly from nearby Nova again, either through a radio or an intercom. "We have lost contact with Watcher-150 approximately fifteen minutes ago," he reported. "I personally have attempted to re-establish a link, but have so far been unsuccessful." Argus was referring to the vast satellite coverage field that littered the remnants of dark space -- these old satellites were left behind during the final diaspora to Bastion, in a last-ditch attempt to gather some data on how or why stars died prematurely. There were hundreds of them, and around a dozen or so went missing each month. Artemis Moon

I would try to brainstorm new characters, but I'm not feeling much inspiration right now and probably wouldn't be into roleplaying them as much as Argus -w-)

Artemis Moon (Sorry! I was busy yesterday and had to work earlier today.) Nova gave a soft, slightly exasperated sigh and shook her head slowly, "No surprise. That's, what? The eleventh one this month?" The cydog frowned. She often found herself wondering over the mysterious disappearances of the satellites. Perhaps at some point she would have a small, unmanned craft constructed to investigate. Right now, however, there were other matters to attend to, "Argus, I'll have to check out the forms later. I'm going to accompany the raiders to Beta_3. There's a few things I need, and I am not sending someone else to pick them up this time. Blasted fools always come back with the wrong parts." As she headed down to where the cruiser was docked, she went on muttering about how one must do something themselves, if they wanted it done right.

Suddenly, a hologram of Argus' core sprung into existence in front of her -- he was usually never so forward, and definitely wanted Nova's full attention. "You are correct: it is the 116th probe to have gone offline," he said. "Nevertheless, there was something different. Watcher-150 had picked up a signal before its transmitter went offline." The hologram raised a claw, and a signal flow chart came to existence. It detailed a largely unshifting line -- it was quiet without the stars now -- before it was suddenly and randomly spiked up and down and stopped abruptly. However, it wasn't random: there was most certainly a pattern, a kind of rising pitch which cut off at the peak, presumably when the probe went offline. "Apologies for interrupting, but I believe this required your immediate attention," Argus buzzed.
