With his registration officially out of the way, Lucas was content to never visit Court again. Yet, the proposed celebration for his reunion with Selena was nagging at him. “...Would the Court really celebrate our reunion with a big party?” If so, would Selena really want to go and take him with if he agreed? Would the celebration feel strange with the knowledge there was a third Grey sibling who had made it clear she didn’t give a shit about two of her elder siblings? Hannah’s attitude made him uneasy. Had she always been that way? “And Hannah... was she always that way?” featherleg

Rosestar A soft blush rose in her cheeks as her eyes darted off to the side, occasionally meeting back with his but with a gleam of shyness to them. "O-Oh, well, that's a bit hard to pinpoint if you want an exact answer." Truthfully, it was. There were so many small moments they shared in the past of just being together. Going on bike rides, reading stories together, sharing snacks, playing whatever games he wanted to and her playing music for him afterwards. It felt natural to her to be by his side, and now that feeling was amplified. No, it had certainly changed to something else due to their relationship in the present. What else could explain the way she felt about him? "I just care about you because it's you. Does that make sense?" She tilted her head to the side and leaned her cheek against his arm, her eyes looking back at him with curiosity as the blush on her face darkened. Despite her embarrassment, her voice was honest and kind.

"Oh, of course they would." She said with a slight laugh. "Knowing Dasco, he would go so far as to call off a gala just to have people attend our party instead. I don't mean that jokingly either, I'm dead serious Lucas." If she could still read her father and his antics, the party would take the whole day as well. They would likely be invited to stay two days prior to get fitted for their outfits and going through a survey of questions on trivial things like their favorite foods, colors, songs, dances, etc. While she certainly loved these types of events, she wasn't sure if Lucas would ever really be up for it. "I....don't know. That was the first time I had seen her since...well...you know." She gestured off to her side with a shrug. "I remember her being stubborn and having a knack for reading, but I never thought she would spit in our faces like that." Misty

Despite her embarrassment, her voice was honest and kind. She looked so strangely comfortable on his arm like that, despite the shyness and the blush. With his free hand, he took a moment to brush some stray hairs out of her face, trying hard not to accidentally touch her face and failing. Hopefully, it was only the briefest of touches. Despite how she was Aika, Dalton still found himself hesitant to react. Whatever was happening wasn't yet clear to him, and he didn't want to accidentally cross a line. Although... "If anyone else said that to me I would consider it a confession," he mused, smirking, but his voice didn't have its usual confidence. Whatever she was trying to say was still too new for him to want to make assumptions. That didn't mean he couldn't tease her to break the tension, however. Hopefully, his fear of her reaction wasn't coming through.

“It seems rather dramatic and over-the-top.” Which seemed to be Dasco’s style, if his stunt with Hannah could be considered in character for him. Lucas suspected that it was very in character for Dasco. “And something you’d probably enjoy.” He paused. “But I don’t know if I could ever enjoy myself there. All that attention on me and everyone calling me Sir like I’m someone important.” He didn’t feel important. Selena was, but he wasn’t. As they approached slower traffic, Lucas slowed to avoid colliding with the vehicle in front of him. “I don’t remember anything about her, but she had to have been a teenager when I disappeared and the first time you went looking for me,” he commented quietly. Even so, he couldn’t imagine any of his siblings being that cold while they had all been together as a family. “I wish she hadn’t spat in our faces, but if that’s her attitude, I don’t want anything to do with her, either. She’s not worth it if she’s going to be so rude.” featherleg

RosestarAika took in his movements as she waited for him to respond. How gentle he was as he fixed her hair and smoothed it back. How cautious he was in trying to avoid touching her face in the action. It was all so endearing and tender, she couldn't help but feel a fire kindle in her chest. Something about the combination of his smirk and sudden shyness only made her smile more as her dark gaze stayed captivated in his. It was enough to beckon her to stop hiding in the past and go after what was right in front of her. To take a risk and live. "What if I told you it was? Would that surprise you enough to consider it one?" She blinked softly at him, holding onto the moment, hoping it wouldn't end.

Rowlin smiled taking another sip of his drink, he offered and opened the door-and yet he still felt like he was receiving the punishing blow. Despite that, he smiled through and pushed the feeling aside. Having the two around was really nice-he always appreciated their company, and shenanigans, today and even back then. Watching them interact, both different and yet alike on certain aspects, briefly reminded him of his time growing up with Vincent- yet having the presence of these two also allowed him to experience opportunities he wasn’t able too with his older brother. If it weren’t for the twins,Celestia, Derrick and Aika, he wouldn’t have found the motivation to try and strive for a new outlook when everything looked bleak. It was truly a pleasure to have them around.
“A-Ah I certainly will let you know, should I pop in.” Rowlin nodded. He recalled the dorm life, and the rules that follow. Schools were stricter then the movies. Reguardless, he thought of a few ways to get around that. “We could also snatch the library study rooms, people start disappearing from certain floors after a certain hour. That or the student rec rooms, students don’t start living there till the week of finals.” Hr considered thouroughly. “If it comes to it, you guys are more then welcome to stop by my place, without the fear of distractions, or say the RA.” He lightly chuckled.
Damien was silently still munching at a slower pace, mostly focused on the conversations exchanged at the table. His eyes however were peeled at Urian, from the cool, the laughter, to shock that his uncle was experincing. It was so abnormal, so differnt, so bizarre. To see his cool uncle and crazy aunt acting in sync was just as cool, but to see them both excited and hype was like finding the next big treasure under the sea. It was great and ferrying at the same time.
“Just relax, and be you. You’ll be fine, Urian.” Rowlin’s gaze illuminated with hope. “You spark life into the unknown, just take it one step at a time.” His attention then turned to Leila who started to tease her brother. “Come now, if that day comes, I’m certainly positive that you’ll be the first to know.” He lightly encouraged. Yet when the two died down, they instantly mitigated each-other it was like a reaction that had canceled itself out. His expression shifted, caught off guard by the sudden shift and yet a the same time, he thought it better not to pursue it.
Derrick happily took a plate of curry himself, he was very excited to try the food himself-it was made with passion and excitement , at the same time he had waited all this time to enjoy it with everyone. “I-I-I’m glad..” He beamed with just the explosion of smiles. “Real glad! I just wanted to make this something to remember , ya know? It’s not everyday the whole family is here to enjoy a pleasant meal.” He nodded further. “But you guys flatter me a tad bit. I promise you the Uni makes some hectic meals from time to time. I’m just an armature with a playlist full of how to cook meals..” He blushed at the thought. He was happy that everyone was enjoying the food, but at the same time it was too much for the man to handle. GAAAAhhh who am I kidding, it’s good! The kids like it-siblings in law like it, Aika seems cool with it! “Feel free to take as much home with ya, I prepped with anticipation , and I expect some leftovers to leave with you guys as well!”

Misty“Everything about the Court is.” Which made attending its events so intriguing. There were always new people to meet alongside old friends and familiar faces appearing with new stories and tales of their own lives. “Ah, well...yeah. I really do enjoy the galas, the balls, the concerts. Dasco made it a point to start having them more regularly once he had finished renovations in the Court. He wanted to create a space for people like us to enjoy themselves without having to worry about the consequences. I haven’t been to other Courts besides the Embrian one but....he really does try to make everyone feel at home.” Well, not including the stunt he had just pulled on them, anyway. “You’re important to me, Lucas. I’m not going to go around calling you ‘Sir’ like everyone else but...just try to keep that in mind if we do end up going, okay?” Selena nodded along as she listened to him recall his memories on their sister. “At the same time though, I do want to know what caused this change in her demeanor. Unlike us meeting, she recognized us from the moment she saw us. Hell, Dasco probably knew this day was coming and was just waiting for it to happen.” She crossed her arms as she leaned back in her seat, thinking of how exactly the two could have possibly met to lead to this series of events to play out.

Lucas snorted. “Lovely.” Dramatic and over-the-top normally described things he liked to avoid. Time with his friends sounded much more enjoyable. “I’ve always found that I’ve been able to enjoy myself as long as I was with my friends, even if we weren’t in a safe place like the Courts. I guess that has a lot to do with how we’ve lived our lives.” Selena had been heavily involved in the Court for much of her life, and he had avoided it. It wasn’t entirely surprising they each found different atmospheres safe. “That doesn’t make me important to the entire Court, at least not in the way you are. If it wasn’t for being your older brother, I wouldn’t be of any importance to anyone there.” He let out a sigh. “I’ll go to one of these events, for you.” “Maybe it’s something you could discuss with her if you go back to Court by yourself,” Lucas suggested. He wasn’t sure that having both of them present would result in a productive conversation, but if she was going to be cruel to Selena again, he wanted to be there for her. “Maybe she’s had her human memories restored so she could remember what we all looked like?” He shrugged once. “You know, I don’t feel like she’s a natural blonde. I don’t feel like any of us had light hair. Maybe that’s why you didn’t immediately recognize her like you recognized me.” featherleg

AuranskyThe twins, as well as Aika, nodded at Derrick’s offer. The rest of the meal continued at the same pace as it had previously as the individual players at the table caught up with each other in their respective lives. Occasionally, Celestia would chime in to ask one of the kids to tell everyone about their most recent accomplishments and passion projects. There was a sense of pride and comfort in her gaze as she watched her children recount their stories to the others. About how Viola was getting better at her axels in figure skating and how her next routine would most certainly be better than her last one. How Kai had just turned in a new robot he had been working on for a competition and was waiting for confirmation that he would be selected to compete. The whole scene felt so simple from an outsider's perspective, but to Celestia, it meant the world to her. Having her family together, sharing a meal and stories together. Her and Aika briefly shared a glance between each other, one that perhaps was the start to mending what had occurred upstairs as Aika gave her a small smile and she responded with a slight nod. As the meal came to a close, Celestia requested that the kids help their Uncle and Aunt in cleaning the dishes, assuring them that they could all play on the Switch in the downstairs living room afterwards. The twins seemed fine with the arrangement, as Leila took a moment to pull her sister aside. After a brief conversation, Leila headed upstairs, grabbed the console and all the accessories, and brought it downstairs before joining everyone else in clean up duty. Seeing that the kids would be distracted, Celestia gestured for the rest of the party to follow her upstairs to her office. Once everyone was in the room and the door was closed, her and Aika began to arrange the chairs in a manner that created a half circle with four chairs, while one lone chair sat in front of them. “That should do.” She said curtly as she turned to Rowlin. “As much as I would like to ask how your journeys have been, among other questions as well, those will have to wait.” Carefully, she removed the crystal from her pocket and set it on the lone chair. “We have a bigger issue on our hands. The fact that mine and Derricks house were broken into by a stranger who claims to be a rather big fan of yours. So much so that they crashed into my daughters bedroom and thought it wasn’t that big of a deal. While I’m sure he wasn’t aware of such details, he is aware enough of your capabilities, Rowlin. To a high degree of concern. I’d like you to explain before I release this individual why you were followed, your relationship with him, and why I shouldn’t see him as a threat to myself and my family.”

Misty “I see…” Selena was fortunate that when she turned that Dasco had found her. Guided her through the process and ordeal of it all. Coming to terms with such a life change was difficult for many of their kind. She could only imagine what it would be like to go through it without someone like Dasco for reassurance, or a place like the Court to live within. It provided safety and knowledge that she needed. For a moment, she was ready to go on a counter argument on the concept of importance, but instead her face lit up at him suddenly agreeing to attend an event with her. “You will? Are you sure?? You can’t take it back now that it’s been said, you know?” If she wasn’t sitting in her car during this, she would be jumping with joy before likely pulling him into a bear hug, but she just leaned across from her seat as she beamed at him. Memory restoration...why didn’t I think of that before. “She very well could have had her memories brought back to her. By whom I wouldn’t know. Elizabeth is the only generation two vampire I’ve actually met. There is another person who comes to mind, but they have their own Court that is located in Europe. There is of course the possibility that she remembered a brief detail and chased it down like I did, but...decided to use the information to stay away from us instead.” Sitting back in her seat, she tried going through scenarios in her head, then quickly snapped out of it. “Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to ramble like that. But, you could be right on both accounts. I don’t recall any one of us having light hair like she did. She probably dyed it. I think it was her speech pattern that tipped me off. That and Dasco suddenly having a new assistant didn’t help her case.”

Rosestar Aika took in his movements as she waited for him to respond. Would that surprise you enough to consider it one?" She blinked softly at him, holding onto the moment, hoping it wouldn't end. He shouldn't have said anything. It was only adding more fuel to the fire. Between his impending hallucinations and her outburst earlier, he wasn't fully sure what was real and what was just emotions running high. As he stood there, staring at her dark eyes, he felt a pang in his chest wondering how quickly this all might slip away. He could imagine this Aika, this one who was still nuzzling into his arm and staring with such affection in her gaze might fall asleep like this, with him, and in the morning it would be like nothing happened. It was still that uncertain feeling of not having all the evidence lined up, even if they were just people now, and not a case to solve.
"I probably wouldn't believe you," he said, his voice faraway in his own ear. He watched her eyes flicker, the soft motion of her breath. Almost like he was watching everything through the gloss of a window. "I'd say you were teasing me." Not in a mean way, of course. He didn't think Aika had a mean bone in her body. Just the way the two of them worked, playing off one another again and again. Dalton found himself pulling her into another hug, just to escape the lulling gaze of her eyes. "That or this was another fever dream," he finished quietly, almost to himself. He squeezed her slightly, to remind himself to be there, in the moment. She was still cold. It was starting to seep into him.

RosestarHer eyes widened in disbelief. The smile that had donned her lips slipped away, leaving a blank slate. It felt like the distance that had been there prior to their embrace was creeping back at an alarming rate based on the tone of his voice. Had she made a wrong move? Not chosen the right words to say? Had the distance building between them grown to be this tremendous that he didn’t believe her? Stop doubting yourself. A voice in the back of her head yelled, waking her up from falling back into her nightmares. Being pulled into another abrupt hug, she listened to him in slight confusion. Closing her eyes as he squeezed her, she mimicked the action as her arms reached up higher on his back, her head resting against his chest. She wasn’t going to let them slip back into being strangers. If she could find a way to reassure him in this moment in time, then she would do so just like he had done for her. Disbelief was replaced with determination. The fire in her heart would not go out because of one misstep. “You’re not dreaming, I promise Dalton. I meant what I said, truly.” She paused as she mulled over her words while tapping her index finger against his back. “Can you tell me about these fever dreams? What happens in them?”

“I have a couple requests, though. Nothing too crazy, but I want to invite my friends. We more or less have the same feelings about the Courts, but the girls do love any excuse to dress up, so I’m hoping they’ll come. You’ll be able to meet them, hopefully, and they’ll be a couple more people I know there. Also, don’t be too surprised if I want some time in the gardens alone, just to get a small break from it all.” If Selena didn’t object to his requests, the evening at Court might not be too bad for Lucas. It might actually be somewhat enjoyable for him. “For whatever reason, she doesn’t want a relationship with us. If that’s her decision, we’ll have to respect it.” The more they spoke about it, the more curious Lucas became about why Hannah was so cold and distant with them. It completely contradicted the idea of a happy family, something he really hoped had been true for their family when they had all been together. “You really think she’s his new assistant?” Someone had made a name for herself while Selena was taking her leave of absence. “And he didn’t just take advantage of the opportunity?” For what reason, Lucas still wasn’t sure. What could motivate Dasco to pull a stunt like that on Selena? featherleg

What happens in them?” It was a mistake. Of course it was. He knew it the second he saw the smile drop away from her face. Of course Aika of all people wouldn't joke about if there... if she had feelings for somebody. He sighed into her hair, feeling sorry for himself, and mostly for her, for somehow... for whatever it was she was feeling. He supposed it wasn't that hard to believe. But somehow, he had missed the signs. So he didn't have time to figure out any of this out for himself.
What was easier, wrestling with his feelings or retelling the visions he had been witnessing? The ones that would surely drive her away, if he hadn't already?
She had been honest with him. He had to be as honest with her, as honest as he could be, anyway. He felt himself relaxing into her, allowing himself to be comforted, and he began quietly. "I see us. We're younger, like you're slotting right into my childhood. I've seen us read together, play music..." he trailed off, feeling stupid. "I don't know what it means. It feels so real, like memories, but they... I keep seeing it. While I'm awake too. You make me so nervous now. I never know what to think." His head was hurting again just thinking about it, but there was a lightness on his chest too. It had only been a few days trying to work through the craziness, but it somehow felt like years. Already he was weary. Maybe it was his turn for tears to prick at his eyes as he considered presenting how he was losing his mind out in the open.

MistyAt the mentions of requests, Selena dug through her bag and took out a notebook and pen and started jotting down notes as he listed his requirements. Have his friends invited? As long as she got a list of names and addresses, easy. Alone time in the gardens? Well...she wanted to spend some time giving him a proper tour of them, but maybe they could do both. Yeah, that could work. Plus she would get to meet his friend circle and spend some time with them. “I can meet those goals, easily. You’ll have to help me in inviting your friends though.” She noted as she put her journal away, pleased with what she had jotted down for now. “I mean, not many people spend time directly with him. There are a lot of employees at the Court that work for him, sure, but only a select handful are seen by his side.” There was a long pause as she thought over his last question. “Well...I wouldn’t put it past him. I just don’t know what he would gain from working with her. We don’t know what she’s capable of, to be frank. They could have a business arrangement of sorts. It’s hard to say.”

RosestarStanding there quietly as the rain continued its downpour above them, Aika listened as Dalton tried his best to recite the dreams, or more so the memories he was reliving. As she felt him lean into her, she traced small circles against his back, hoping in doing so it would soothe him as she anchored herself. Taking in all he had told her, or at least was able to, she let silence fall between them as she collected her thoughts. She knew the reason behind the memories coming back, and why they existed in the first place. The real question was how to approach this in an honest way without losing him, without revealing the monster that she hid. Opening her eyes, she took in where they were in the room as she slowly breathed out. “I think...I have an answer to what you’re seeing. But, I think it would be best if we were sitting down first, before we talk more about it.” Her voice was calm and reassuring as she spoke to him. “I’m going to take a couple of deep breaths. If you can, follow along with me, okay? We’ll move to the bed that’s on your left side afterwards to sit down, but only when you feel like you’re ready to do so.” There was another pause before she spoke up again, giving him another squeeze. “I’m sorry for making you nervous with what you’ve been seeing, but I’m here to help now, alright?” With that, she started focusing on her breathing, hoping she could be the calm in the storm he was in.

“I can definitely help you with that.” Lucas had updated addresses for all his friends, just in case he ever wanted to drop by and see them. They didn’t exchange gifts too often. “We do know she’s magic borne like us. Maybe what he has to gain from working with her has to do with her magic,” Lucas suggested. “Provided she’s actually been able to use it since she was turned.” Maybe her vampire life was more similar to his, and she hadn’t wanted to learn about her magical abilities. Or maybe it was more similar to Selena’s, and she had had access to mentors and a Court. “Regardless, I am a little curious, especially if we’re going to be seeing her somewhat frequently.” featherleg

Misty“Dasco does have a love for the arcane. It’s actually more of an obsession, but it’s with the most random things. A majority of his interests lay in enchantments and anything that will make him stand out. Nothing dangerous, mind you, but once he gets bored with an item, he moves onto another concept just as fast as he wanted to figure out the previous one. It’s...hard to keep up with, but it makes research and traveling fun.” For her, it always had felt like a scavenger hunt. Finding the clues, going from location to location, trying to rush back with new information. A part of her missed it. “I bet she’s going to snare at us when she sees us. Or make some kind of jab.” She muttered as she returned her focus to her phone, deciding to put back on the playlist he had chosen earlier.

“Sure sounds like it was ...interesting to work for him, like you never knew when he was going to change his mind about something.” It also sounded like Dasco was unpredictable in a predictable way. Maybe that was why Selena had enjoyed working for him. “If you enjoyed working for him, why’d you take your leave of absence? It wasn’t just to look for me, right?” Dasco had been given Selena records to aid her in her search for Lucas, so would he have had an issue with Selena splitting her time searching for him as well as whatever Dasco was after. “Oh, probably, but it doesn’t stop me from being curious.” featherleg

Selena lightly laughed as she nodded. “It was. It helped me a lot in finding what I wanted to do with my new life. Kept me on my toes.” There was another bout of silence as she looked away from her brother, her arms folding over her chest. “You were part of the reason I left. We...had an argument. I wanted things he couldn’t provide me anymore. He wanted me to stay. Said he would raise my station within the Court, hire more people to help me with my pursuits in understanding the arcane. I...I wasn’t satisfied. I’m quite aware of the boundaries that Court Lords and Lady's have placed on them. If I wanted to pursue my goals and passions, I needed to remove myself from the life he had given me. It wasn’t a decision I made on impulse, mind you, but I was the second person to leave his Court on the grounds of wanting something he couldn’t obtain or provide.” There was a long, drawn out sigh before she looked back at him. “His reaction to me leaving wasn’t a pretty one.” Misty

Damien shrugged at the bizare instructions, but if it meant switch time-it meant smash bros. So he didn't mind. He just took his seat and chilled with the others. It was a good night to beat his aunt and uncle in the most civil way-after all, Joker was always looking cool.
Derrick had followed into the office, as per request of Celestia. He had assured that the kids were busy working with the group and away from the scene. He still wasn't sure what was going on, but the further away from the living room the got, the colder it appeared to get. It was that of an icy touch, the kind of irritation-or the one that was ready to implode. Since he hadn't been given much info prior , he assumed it might of been something else-or whatever went on upstairs. He took his seat, his eyes still glazing among the room, trying to figure out what was going on-then Celestia spoke, it was as tough the valve of the waterways had been bursted open, and was coming on the wrath of- W-Wait- Rowlin?! What has the kid done- He leaned slightly forward, his eyes almost widening by the second. Fan? Abilities? Stalker? RACCOONS?! His head was filling with words to fill in the context to Celestia's game of Jeopardy.
Rowlin too had followed in, he was unaware of what had gone on upstairs period. After all, he walked in through the front door. So to be called into the office brought some questions to mind as he slowly took a seat trying to decipher the text talk. A crystal- it looks like- He tried to further decipher this situation "Y-You guys were broken into?" He softly asked in surprise. Raccoons in this town too? Then it happened, Celestia turned the tables on him, he blinked taking a jab back in his seat. "W-Wait..." He raised his hands in concern. "F-Fan, someone? What?" He waved his hands in more confusion. "Aside from Yan who've I met at work-and you guys.." He trailed off trying to recollect anyone who could be a friend-but he wasn't coming back with any results. "Small talk- with people of the town sure- here there, what's going on, here there...." He tilted his head upwards, with a deep inhale. He fell silent to recollect anythig that could of happened- conversations and such and then something clicked. "Okay... so..." Rowlin shrugged at the thought. "Met this guy at a cafe, nice guy, says he's a salseman. He started trying to accuse me of being a vampire, and being in the VDA. Told him I was lost, needed directions and the people at the VDA were kind enough to help. I couldn't say he was seeing things, because he claims to have seen me well- walk in and out of the building-or something. I told him that I am a teacher-and that holds merit, but he just couldn't comprehend the teacher exchange program, like mate' it's real, deal with it. But he just pressed on, and on and on about the VDA and vampires. So finally I told him what I tell my students to shake up the year. Told him three truths and a lie. Told him I grew up in Ireland, true true, told him I lived in London, which is true, I lived in London at one point. Then I told him I was with M15.. you would thing this guy would like- go back to the VDA accusations, but he started to believe it. Like..." He crossed his arms in a shrug. "A five year old could see through that lie. What kind of person goes around telling people they are with M15." He shook his head. "However there was a problem.." He lifted both of his arms in the air, his restraints in clear view. "These things are going out of control, it's the reason I came looking for you lot. They are very unpredictable, and they just happened to go off in front of this person I met." His tone dimmed, and his gaze sharpened. "I think-I told the guy I was jumped in Australia, and that I ended up in shock collars or something after a bizare incident..." He shook his head. "We did talk about mythical creatures sure, but again I told him my field was history, with an inclusion of folklore." He sighed. "But we parted ways, and I kept assuring him that I wasn't a vampire which he kept poking me in." I mean I am... but I can't with these things on..

Auransky Aika had taken a seat next to Derrick as she watched what was probably a more tamed version of Celestia scolding someone. She could tell that her friend wanted to scream, especially considering the details of what had happened, but with all three of her kids in the house, it wasn’t the best idea. It also served as a reminder to her that sooner or later, her and Derrick would start asking her questions once this issue was resolved. About whether or not it was necessary for her to feed and if so from whom. About potential contingency plans in case her work at the VDA failed or she was caught before the two month deadline. Shaking her head, she pushed those thoughts away and focused on her two friends trying to piece together who Tom was. Celestia found the whole conversation...well, odd. It wasn’t unlike Rowlin to find himself in random bouts of trouble. It was just that they were minor for the majority of the time. One time deals that could be resolved--for the most part--without follow up issues. There was a reason why she no longer was tasked as being one of his supervisors, why he was able to travel at his own leisure. Feeling the start of a headache come on, she pinched the bridge of her nose as she spoke up. “This person--Tom--is a strange individual, as you described. He wasn’t phased by either the presence of myself or Aika nor our capabilities. Didn’t even seem to care that I was a former head member of the Hakuryu Court, which I find odd considering the fact that you have stated he is aware of the VDA and of the existence of vampires. There’s a lot here that doesn’t add up, frankly.” Her gaze softened to an apologetic look as Rowlin spoke about his restraints. Celestia knew all too well the difficulties of being placed within them. How weak it could make the individual feel in regards to things like their confidence, their well being, their purpose. They were thoughts she had at one point. “I can take a look at them after we handle this. I’m not sure how much work I’ll be able to perform on them, but if they are going haywire then an examination is necessary.” She looked over at her husband as she leaned against her desk. “What are your thoughts on the matter, Derrick?” Even though she was the one who had briefly handled the situation beforehand, this was their house, their family. She wasn’t going to make a decision until he had had the chance to voice his opinion.

Lucas remained silent as Selena spoke. So her leave of absence had partly to do with him and partly to do with her other goals in life, and she hadn’t been able to pursue them while working for Dasco. Maybe that was why he had pulled the stunt. Maybe he was still upset with her for leaving - not that it entirely mattered now. “You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.” As they got closer to the city, traffic got heavier. “You’ll have to let me know where to turn. I’m not sure how to get back to Wolves Pool from here.” Lucas still needed to apologize to Elizabeth. featherleg

Rosestar Standing there quietly as the rain continued its downpour above them, Aika listened as Dalton tried his best to recite the dreams, or more so the memories he was reliving. Dalton blinked, feeling himself slip back into his body. Aika was reacting a lot calmer than he expected. Honestly, if it was the other way around, he didn't know what he would do. There was a heaviness in his body now, weighing him down. It was almost preferable to the floating feeling he was in a moment ago. He always could think better when he was firmly planted in the present. Never one for intense personal introspective until these dreams started happening.
He breathed along with her, alert now. He shifted in her embrace to straighten up at the prospect of answers. He did nothing to hide that he was internally churning out theories about what she could know that he didn't. It was the detective in him awake now, instead of the confused, crazed Dalton Black. He had always found security in his work, and now was no different. Still, he was careful in his movements. He pulled a bit away from her, to give her space, but kept his hands on her shoulders, letting them rise and fall with her breathing. It was strange; the contact felt unnatural to end, despite how the conversation had turned. When she she seemed, he guided her to the bed, his face soft and open.

Misty“It’s fine, really. It’s better that I do. Besides, I can’t take back what I did and neither can he.” While Selena did care immensely about her adoptive father, she was her own person. She wasn’t born into the Court. Molded by it in her current life, sure. That didn’t mean she had to stay within its walls. If and when she would return would be by her own doing. At least she hoped that would be in the case. “Oh, right. You’ll want to exit this freeway when the next off ramp comes up on your right side.” She pulled herself up in her seat, straightening up to focus on getting them back into the city without too much issue.

RosestarThe change in his posture gave her the cue that he was coming back to his senses, at least for now. His movement wasn’t as hesitant as it was earlier as she felt his hands grasp onto her shoulders again. Upon feeling them gently brush down her arms to take her hands, Aika lifted her gaze from the ground back up to meet his face as he guided her over. As they sat down across from each other, she positioned herself so one of her legs hung off the bed while the other tucked back towards her. Her hands softly grasped his as she spoke. “Forgive me if I stop speaking at points. It’s just...I never thought I would be able to talk to you about, well…” She trailed off, trying to find a way to approach the topic properly. Maybe there was no real way to go about this delicately. She would just have to break the ice and dive in. “We--you and I--we knew each other long before either of us joined the VDA. And I know that sounds impossible and I know you have questions, but allow me to piece together what I can for you first.” There was this tone of determination and resolve in her voice that only appeared when they were on a case together, but it was so much stronger and passionate in comparison. “When I moved here from Japan, it was due to my parents passing. My uncle and aunt took me in, and while they were wonderful and still are, they created a rather isolated environment for me. I didn’t go to public school. Instead I had private tutors. Because of that, I didn’t have any friends for the first two years of living with them. Eventually, it became too much for me, being on my own, and it became apparent in my studies and overall behavior. The issue with my uncle and aunt, though, was that they didn’t have time to take care of me with their jobs, and....due to the nature of my parents death...didn’t know who to trust in looking after me outside of the tutors they hired. That was, until one day, they met your parents.” Aika paused as she closed her eyes and smiled to herself. “They never told me exactly what happened for them to gain their trust, but it was enough for them to introduce me to your parents, to Zeus, to you. My aunt would drop me off at your house before she went to work or have one of my tutors do so after my classes were done. I didn’t talk much at first unless I was spoken to. Everything was so new to me that I was scared to make a mistake, to have the opportunity to be out of my house taken away from me. However, you wouldn’t stand for it.” She laughed to herself as she looked back up at him. “After the first few days I had been over, you started pestering me about everything. If you were going outside to play, I had to come along. If it was snack time, we had to share snacks. Once you found out I was learning to play the piano, you told your mom right away, requesting that we all play music together. Of course she agreed, though I don’t think Zeus actually played anything? He just ‘danced’. Wasn’t very good at it, but he tried.” There was a look of fondness as she recalled the memory before she continued on. “Overtime, I started to open up. Become more relaxed. As time went on, I would spend more and more of it with you and your family. My uncle and aunt would let me sleep over on the weekends, which prompted your parents to take us all out to go on trips. We’d go to the beach or up into the mountains to go hiking. Oh, and the holidays were the best. You and I exchanged Christmas lists and would stay up the whole night before discussing what presents we could have gotten. The same happened for our birthdays, although you would keep asking me what I got you and would whine when I told you to wait only to have the biggest smile on your face once you finally got to open my present. It was all so...well, to me, perfect. There are so many little memories I could talk about, like when your brother was in his art classes and had done a few portraits with you as his reference. It was one of the few times you would actually sit still.” She let out a small sigh as she dropped her gaze to their hands. “And then, one day, everything changed. My uncle and aunt received news that...that your father had passed. That your family needed time to recover. I kept asking when I would be able to go over next, when I could see you again, and they kept telling me to be patient. Days became weeks. Weeks turned into months. Months accumulated to years. And once more, I was alone. They had told me you and your family had relocated, that there was no use seeking you out. So I did what they told me to. I was patient. I studied and excelled in my courses enough to skip what would have been two years worth of school to start spending time doing research on what happened. It wasn’t easy. I pulled a lot of all nighters trying to find clues or random leads that I thought were fruitful, though they never were. Then came my seventeenth birthday. Apparently, there was something written in my parents' will that stated that once I had turned that age, that my mothers library and anything related to her studies would be handed over to me. That gift is now what is set in my own library. Those books, along with my own research, pushed me to join the VDA once I came to understand what the organization was. While I never was able to figure out why my mother had such a collection of subjects such as magic or vampires, I was able to use it to my advantage when I applied to the agency. And then...we met again. You welcomed me to your team after I had passed the application process but....you didn’t recognize me. I thought it was a joke, a prank. We had known each other for years, after all. For the first couple of weeks, I kept to myself, trying to figure out why you didn’t recognize me. In my confusion, I decided to turn to Doctor Mori for her assistance, as nothing in my library collection pointed towards a clear answer. I had to wait a bit as she’s a rather busy agent, but when I was finally able to speak to her, the answer she gave....well, it made me decide to go home for the day. Her hypothesis was that...your memories of me...were erased. Wiped. Nonexistent. That or the death of your father traumatized you to...forget me. In either case, she told me it would be best to not try to reawaken such memories. That you would have to remember in your own way, naturally. Any interference done on my part could be harmful. So…,” it was at this point her voice started shaking as her grip on his hands tightened, “...I stayed quiet. Kept my distance. Stayed away. Accepted that I had lost...that I would be alone again. You were my best friend...and then we were reduced to strangers.” There was so much pain in her voice, pain that finally made sense as to what it was rooted to. “S-So...to answer what you’ve been seeing...yes, they are memories. They are real....and I'm sorry for what they've caused.”

“Fair enough.” Lucas changed lanes so he wouldn’t have to cut across multiple lanes of traffic just before he passed the exit. When the exit came up, he took it to get off the highway and back into the city. “Now where do I turn?” featherleg

Rowlin had fallen silent, he wasn't sure how the others would react. Scratch that- he knew exactly how they would react- he'd seen it time and time again, whether it be then or even now. He's observed it, when watching them each scold soldiers, advisors, generals, captains, and the one rude server. For this reason, he worked his best to remain on task, and keep expectations to a standard, and yet here he was on the receiving end of what he often found himself observing. Occasionally he would make a mistake, but it wasn't even this bad something that with a simple adjustment could overturn a bad outcome within seconds. His head was slightly down, of course he ruined the night- now that he learned about this going on in the background. He didn't realize he was being followed- how could he? He wasn't focused on that, which was the only way to tell if he was given his current situation. He eyed the bracelets along his wrists and briefly shut his eyes in frustration. S-Sorry Teach.. He wanted so hard to just blurt out an apology, but given the tension and Celestia's frustration, how could he? For a change, he wanted to just hold his hands over his head, and pull himself in- and yet- sitting still where he was, his eyes continuously skimming upwards, then left, then right, waiting for the scolding of a lifetime. Then it never happened- His head dipped up at Celestia who seemed more tired then anything else. His eyes widened at her response, it was reassuring and something unexpected. E-Even now, you are helping me...You've always been there as a mentor, as a supervisor, as a friend... He recalled the change in dynamics following his first visit to the courts, the new rules, and changes he had to abide by, and how his three companions would become his lifelong friends. In silence he nodded, following with Celestia's statements. This new fella he met at the cafe was aware, and was direct on his intentions. The question there was, who was he, and who was he affiliated? "T-Thanks..a-and Sorry.." Rowlin softly responded to Celestia. "I-I wasn't aware of someone's presence following me... I-I thought I lost him." He lightly rested his elbows against his knees. His hands lightly tinkering with his bracelets. "My last priority is removing these- right now it's the fact that this newcomer is here." His gaze slightly remained locked on the bracelets, it was frustrating, but his composure was slightly returning.
Derrick listened silently. There was indeed tensions in the air, something was going on and it certainty wasn't to catch up on the world of magic. His wife seemed to have her foot tapping, and even if she wasn't actually tapping it, he could hear it-he knew, just did. He kept a stone cold face, as he went through his own world of shocks. This discussion almost felt like a drama- one of those moments where the twists are flung open, all he was missing the popcorn, but of course that wasn't the point. From Celestia's worries, to Rowlin's confession, his eyes continued observing his wife, the boy and Aika sitting to his side. Everyone had some reaction- different but similar in terms of concern. Someone who knows about us? ... n-no... do they actually know about us, or do they just know about the existence of non humans in general? He crossed his arms, then leaned slightly forward in his chair to ponder. To boldly approach someone and accuse them in broad daylight? He continued considering possibilities. Another concern was after Celestia admitted that she and Aika unveiled themselves and the individual appearing unphased, by the sounds of it. Why- Why would you reveal that information? We don't know who this person is associated to? What if? He moved his head slightly from side to side at the thought. His brow raised as he was called on by Celestia. He further followed by turning his head to address his wife. She asked for his input, and yet there was more questions then answers for a discussion on the matters. He tucked his head in, as he straightened his back once more from his initial ponder. "Hmmmm..." He considered the possibilities thoughrouly. "If this person broke into our house, I absolutely will be pressing charges. That's the first legal thing we need to do..." He shook his head however, thinking deeply about this. "Furthermore, both of you told this newcomer exactly who you were and what you've been associated with?" He raised a brow in curiosity. "Was that necessary?" He slightly bit the side of his lip. "While initiating your position of power-" He tilted his head now biting the other side of his lip now. "That can also be a grave mistake on our end..." He leaned his head now forward, tucking it in again. "Now, don't get me wrong... I can see the tactics in sharing that information, but the question that depends on making that vital, is who this Tom person is?" He looked over at Aika, "What if he is say... someone tracking you? What if he is a radical?" His attention then turned to Celestia, "What if he is a political agent? Someone who is being brought in, by a previous opponent of yours?" He then turned to Rowlin his gaze grim at a new direction. "What if he's a survivor?" His attention now turning on the empty chair with the crystal. "This person... is someone who we have no answers to. Yet, we just gave him much information. Depending on who he is affiliated with, we just gifted him with knowledge to use against us, or sell to individuals against, or still dying with a grudge based on past offenses." He took in a deep breath before releasing a long breath. "If he seemed unphased, then imagine, what information this person can take out of us without much effort?" He gaze remained locked on to Celestia's. "Is he working for someone, or working on his own? Is this person for or against the VDA? Is this person for or against vampires, let alone banished, users of magic?" He took in another deep breath. "We can't go back... and I assume you assessed this person and their magic capability , if any... let alone immortality if any." He considered cautiously. "Despite that, whether you did on didn't , we have a few objectives." He held out a hand, and began counting with his thumb. "First, what is this individual." Next he pointed out his index finger alongside his thumb, "Second, what are they doing in Embra, let alone their purpose. We won't get a purpose, so we need to know why they are in Embra." His third finger, was added, "Association and Intentions? Are they looking to help or harm? Another objective we wont get out of him, but.. we can assure him that every party involved will know of his presence by tomorrow, and look for any movement either mind and body." Now with the ring finger indicating four, "Lastly, why is he so eager and interested in Vampires and the VDA? Or is he a conspiracy theorist?" He shook his head, "Is this person incentive to cash, family, alliance, revenge? Granted-" He paused briefly. "The outcome of the last objective will depend on the first three. But, we must find out how this person is involved with the situation." He nodded slowly at the thought. "So long as we keep our composure, we may be able to ask for some answers..." He eyed Rowlin briefly then Aika before returning his gaze at Celestia, "If we need to, we can try other techniques... some that haven't been tried for a good minute."

MistyThe rest of the ride consisted of Selena guiding Lucas through traffic to get to their next destination. She was quick to catch onto calling out lane changes and turns beforehand to avoid spiking his road rage. After driving through the city for thirty minutes, they finally arrived at the Wolves Den. “Before we go in, have you given any thought to what you’re going to say besides ‘I’m sorry’?” Selena asked as she turned to him. “I only ask because I don’t think it’s going to cut it in this situation.” Having worked with Elizabeth for years, Selena was well aware of how serious her boss took her work, and that Lucas’s outburst may fall in line with the idea of ‘insult to injury’ based on what he had said to her. --------- AuranskyCelestia curtly nodded to Rowlins apology, knowing full well that he didn’t mean any harm by his mishap. If anything, it affirmed that his senses were skewed enough from his restraints that if they had been attended to earlier, this situation could have been avoided entirely. However, they were well past the point of wishful thinking. As Derrick spoke up, Aika and Celestia’s attention remained on him as he listed his concerns. “If I may,” Aika said while looking towards Celestia for permission to continue, which she granted with a quick gesture of her hand, “on the matter of pressing charges against this person, our options have become limited. I think I can say this confidently based on our brief interaction with Tom, but he is not human by any means. Scaling to the second story of a house and breaking into a room via a window without a scratch to show for it isn’t a feat that a normal person can achieve on their own. Handing him over to local authorities is out of the question, and we cannot turn him into the VDA. It would compromise both my position there as well as Rowlins. Which leaves us with one option, in truth.” Celestia sighed as she nodded. “We would have to turn him into the Embrian Court.” “Exactly. As far as we know, he is a rogue agent by our current understanding. The act he pulled tonight would be considered an attack to your family, and the Embrian Court holds jurisdiction over this region. I know both of you would rather deal with this on your own accord, but I believe this would be the safest option to follow through on.” As the conversation focused back onto Derrick, it was visible that both of the girls were hesitant to answer at first. It had been a rushed decision, one that Aika had even questioned in the moment as Celestia was usually a rather calculated individual. “Only my former position and name was given during our conversation. I made sure not to speak about Aika by any means and instead focus his attention--or least try to--on me.” Aika nodded in confirmation as her friend explained the prior situation. Her gaze was downcast upon the mention of a potential stalker, one that may know of her past. “I can’t deny the possibility, especially taking into account that he was following my former advisor, of all people.” It felt like the four were back in a war room somewhere in the distant past, reliving a time of tension and bloodshed that they all wanted to put an end to desperately. “If you’re referring to the chance of a Solai outlier, then this has to be handled by the Court, without question. Any opponents I made during my time in the Court know better than to pull a stunt like this, not to mention how tactless it is.” Making enemies within the Court was just as easily done at times as making allies. Despite how hard one could try to avoid it, the event was inevitable. The two of them returned to listening to Derrick, nodding along at points as he listed their objectives in questioning the intruder. “It’s a sound start. I can restrain him while you three question him, but do keep in mind the time. The longer we have him here, the more information and awareness of the area and of ourselves we give away.” Celestia picked up the crystal as she looked over the three of them. “Right. I’d prefer if we kept the focus off of me during this conversation. Since you created our list of how to go about this individual case, would you mind doing the honors of asking such questions Derrick?” Aika had always put her trust in his ability to find and deliver the truth. Now it was no different.
