In the city of Embra, there always seems to be a sense of rush. That within a minute you can be whirled up into the hustle and bustle of everyone else's pace. Expect that is if you are part of its Detective Agency know as the VDA, a well know organization of course besides the fact that no one really knows what they do. Everyone in the city has heard the agencies name a million times but not a single soul bothers to actually do any research on why they were established in the first place.
You on the other hand do. VDA simply stands for Vampire Detective Agency and goes into cases about the local vampires that live in disguise in the city. It has been established for over 100 years and has a prominent stance over all vampire activity and crime. If vampires are involved in a crime of any sort, the VDA will and can override any police power in the city itself. Under President Steele, the current overseer of the VDA, the agency can now investigate any suspicious activities of witches, mages, sorcerers, wizards, battle mages, and even the Arcancis: the most powerful and influential of the magic born community in Embra. While the VDA has no issue with either vampires or people born with the ability to tap into magic living in the city and what they do, there always has been huge cases of murder and scandal on their end, which has been increasing for reasons unknown. The VDA investigates and takes care of any and all vampires that have stepped out of line to keep the city safe as well as any magic born who assists or takes part in such crimes.
The VDA has a system set up to keep up with activities, old and new. The teams that roam the agency are made up of four people: The Detective, the Field Partner, the Tracker, and the Secretary. The detective is the head of the team, the secretary does all the research like background checks and the like then hands the info to the tracker to find a hot spot where the next incident could be. The field partner assists the detective when finding the person they are looking for and deal with any that comes in their way.
Summary: Two years ago, Team Phoenix was just like any other team within the VDA. Four people worked together in the interest of one common goal: Investigate suspicious, supernatural actives within the city and find a way to resolve it. Now it seems like the team is heading in a different direction. The Sector, one of the elite groups within the VDA, has requested that Team Phoenix join their ranks to aid them in their current task, one of which is unclear. To have all four members join however, their secretary Aika Millan had to undergo a placement test to see if she was qualified to be part of The Sector. During the course she became injured and went immediately to urgent care after both completing the test and confirming her teams spot in The Sector. However, Detective Dalton Black, the head of Team Phoenix, must first approve the teams transfer before anyone member can join The Sectors ranks. Currently, Field Assistance James North and Tracker Naomi Petherwryn are working on a case involving the death and murder of Mr. Duvoint, who was Mr. Black-- Dalton's father-- Field Assistance. After investigating the murder scene which was Mr. Duvoint's apartment, James and Naomi suspect that a Generation One vampire was involved with his murder. Naomi also found a single piece of evidence, a photo of Mr. Duvoint and Mr. Black meeting with an unknown woman with her back facing the photograph that was found in Mr. Duvoints coat that has yet to conjure any answers.
Notice: The plot of this rp heavily relies on character interaction above anything else. Each character has a significant role or tie to the story, so it is vital that you're around to see them through this tale. If you're unavailable for a period time, worry not! Just notify me or one of the other rpers, like Misty or Rose, and you're spot will be secured. However, please know that characters have been deleted before for the sake of progression here. That has included key characters mind you. A lot of plot elements and arcs are made and approved by myself, but please know I'm always open to having new arcs and subplots as long as they tie together to the over arcing plot of this story. If I have an idea in regards to a character of yours, I'll always run details over with you first. Your character is your character, not mine, and I'll always try to keep that type of respect here on this rp.
While the first three paragraphs give you a basic summary of this rp, the plot really has gone beyond that overtime. So what exactly is the plot then? The best way I can put it without revealing any spoilers to you or anyone else is that this is story about betrayal, love, acceptance, violence, fear, suspicion, failure, and most of all, truth. I know, it's kind of a lot to swallow. But these themes and ideas influence a lot of what's going on. How certain characters react in this world relies heavily on trust and emotion, two things that either work together or don't. There are a lot of truths hidden behind lies and masks in this rp, many of which I hope surprise you or make you go back to read certain post to see if there were hints or clues to these truths all along. Like I said before, I cannot stress how important it is to be here to see this story unfold. I'll try my best to include every character in any way I can so please be patient if it takes awhile to get your character into the story. If I don't want to make my own team, can my character be in the Sector?- For sure! If that's the case, I'd prefer you put a reason why they got into the Sector. You can read Agent Calhoun or Doctor Mori's profiles to get an idea of what I'd like to see.
Are pets allowed?- I don't see why not.
If you're not on/ around, who can I ask for help with the story or my characters?- Misty or Rose would be your guides. Both have been here for a long time so they can give you a lot more details than this main page can.
How often do you update the front page?- Whenever I can. I usually add characters within 24 hours of them being posted and verified. I also do updates on my own characters as well as the info above and below this Q and A.
Can I have my own Generation idea approved?- Yes, but later on. Until Gen. 7 is revealed, 1 through 6 will be the only ones available.
Is FxF or MxM allowed here?- Yes!
Are werewolves allowed to be made?- For the time being no. I'd much rather you make a character that is either a witch or a vampire if you want a supernatural character.
Going into the lore, is it possible for a magic born--a witch or a mage--to become a vampire? If so how, and can my character become whatever it is that would be called/be? To the characters knowledge, mainly that of the vampires and witches of this rp, it is not possible for a magic born to become a vampire nor has it ever happened in a successful manor. The only time a magic born has tried to become a vampire of any degree it failed miserably. This transformation caused the person to become a statue of stone, basically petrified. This statue, now called The Frozen Tragedy, is a constant reminder for all magic born to avoid the temptation of trying to become immortal through vampiric means.
However!, it is in fact possible for a magic born to become a vampire or obtain the traits of a vampire. This specie/races is rumored to be called two things based on different view points on these people.
The first is The Banished. People who use this term view these magic born as cursed, evil, and the ultimate form of faith lost if these people were to be created or turned.
The second is The Betrayed. Those who use this term view that these magic born, while now immortal and possibly possessing powers that they shouldn't, were put in this state not by choice but by betrayal, much like that of most vampires.
However, they see that these people may have potential when it comes to their powers, and that they might become Valleanis, a fabled race of myth and legend that could save magic born and the vampiric if either faced extinction.
Also, a side note, it is rumored that these magic born will automatically obtain immortally as well as whatever eye color trait is tied to their Generation, but one eye will always have that color trait while the other carries the original color that magic born was born with. This cannot be changed or reserved unless a cure for these magic born is found. While this race/species is allowed to be used for characters, I request that your character would be magic born first and then Banished/Betrayed later on to add depth to their character.
If my character is magic born, can they practice voodoo or dark magic? If so, will there be consequences? Yes and yes. If your character does practice any type of banned or cursed magic, they will be seen as a threat to most if not all other characters unless they also use or approve of that type of magic. Also, if they encounter any agent from the VDA, the chances of them being afraid, frightened, or suspicious of your character will increase, meaning that that character is allowed to question your character based off of their history and knowledge of your character and their abilities, therefore you shouldn't be surprised or offended in any way if suddenly your characters actions are limited for a certain amount of time.
Vampire Traits and Characteristics
All vampires have natural traits that come along with the ability to steal blood with their fangs. Memory wiping is one of them as well as reading minds, obviously amplified hearing,smell and emotions. Keep in mind for some vampires though one sense might be more extreme than the rest or more dull. They also run a lot faster, almost seeing invisible at some points until they came to a halt which gives them advantages during battles or when they're being chased. Also parkour is natural for them so climbing buildings is easy. For most vampires the smell of blood will trigger their eyes to go into whatever shade is designated for their vampire forms. This is a natural reflex and can be used to figure out older vampires from newer since older vampires will only have this triggered if there are huge amounts of blood around them. Any abnormal colors will replace a vampires original eye color such as red, black, purple etc. Overtime though they can control this factor. Since some vampires need to go out in the sun to stay in disguise they can meet with witches to have them perform spells to allow them to go outside without being harmed. The spell wears off over time and some witches can give you a spell that will last for months but will cost a lot more. Older vampires also may carry ancient weapons from different time periods that have 'perks' to them. If you have any questions about that, please let me know.
Power Structure and Traits of Magic Born
Unlike the unfortunate turning or becoming of vampires, Magic Born are people who are born with magic coursing through their veins. Usually anyone who is Magic Born hails from a family of such people. Most people just refer to them as 'witches' or 'mages' but in the community and power structure of Magic Born, these terms can be seen as insults depending on the person. The lowest position of a Magic Born would be Witch and Mage and they are viewed more as 'students' than anything. However, once a Magic Born masters at least three different forms of magic, they 'graduate' to become a Sorcerer or a Wizard. Then there are Battle Mages: a general, umbrella term used for Sorcerers or Wizards who have mastered five different forms of magic and who use enchanted armor to increase their magics power. Last but not least are top tier Sorcerers and Wizards. Depending on which city or region you are in, each groups name and abilities may vary, but the highest and most respected group in Embra is the Arcancis. These talented Magic Born have mastered the use of Arcane magic, which allows them to combine two types of magic into one. There also Dark and Blood Mages, but they are seen as outcasts in the Magic Born society since they practice magic that is seen as demonic.
Generally, Magic Born are assigned to study under Vampires since they can give guidance about magic unlike many others. Some are trained in the art of healing, which seems to be new in the Magic Born community since most were trained to be Battle Mages. These new healers are called Mystics and train to use the power of light and of nature to aid those around them. As of right now, it is unknown if these healing powers could be used in combat to attack others since research on it is so new. However, other forms of magic are generally sought after to study upon for combat: Fire, Frost, Electricity, Air, Earth, and Arcane are the most known. Other powers such as Teleporation, Plasma, Manipulation of Time and Sound, Manipulation of Energy Force, and Mind Reading are seen as second tier powers and take years to master. Like vampires, Magic Born also have differences in appearance to humans. Some having unnatural eye colors, like black or purple, or have brightened eye colors that seem either neon or pastel like. When casting spells, markings or spells circles may appear in their eyes or on their palms or cheeks. Depending on how strong the spells are or how new the Magic Born is to casting them, bruising may appear on their face or body.
Just a brief overview of the two; Generations and Bloodlines are both tied to vampires, both on powers. However Generations follow more in individuals while Bloodlines follows families (in case you were wondering, yeah, vampires can have children, but the children being vampires depends fully on whether or not both parents are vampires and how strong their powers are). With Generations, powers can span for decades and are past down either from ones parents or from whomever turned your character. Each one has a main power that they use, like fire or frost. There are also sub Generations that can show up later on, which are rare cases. Bloodlines follow in heritage, in which someone is born from a vampiric family and inherits their powers and characteristics. However, not all vampires are bestowed or cursed with powers when turned. Vampires not linked to any generation are know as underlings, and are usually used by vampire Masters, Elites, or Juggernauts since they can be controlled rather easily.
Gen. 1: Control over blood. Very rare considering most vampires that are part of this generation have either disappeared or passed away earlier than other vampires. Gen. ones can control blood either around them or from themselves in considerable dosages, either as a shield, barrier, or weapon. They're the only know generation to have healing powers of any sort. Since they have control over blood, they can create a small sphere around injuries to make them heal almost instantly. This makes them fierce fighters considering they can self heal themselves at any given point. However, they are vulnerable to physic and frost abilities. Using their powers for too long will result in them passing out, making them vulnerable during battle.
Outside of VDA terminology, all three generations have actual names to them besides their numbers. Blood or Heart Seekers are the terms used when speaking of blood vampires. The reason why there are two terms for them is due to reputation and fear. Any blood vampire that has either torn a heart from a body or made themselves tethered or bonded to another persons heart is a Heart Seeker. Ones that have not engaged in either of these actions are Blood Seekers. While all vampires do require blood to survive no matter their generation, blood vampires benefit and are restricted by it the most. Their powers amplify by it naturally, but being away from it for too long can be life threatening. Their lust for blood can sometimes over power them so much so that they become Heart Seekers. It is said, however, that some have a softer spot for humanity, and will forge bonds with humans to tether themselves to them. Some see this as a test of friendship and loyalty, while others see it almost as a marriage of sorts as the Heart Seeker cannot use mind altering effects or abilities on the person they're bonded to as they have essentially taken their heart.
Gen. 2: Extending control over mind and emotions. Any vampire that has this power generally has purple eyes when they activate their powers, example being Elizabeth. This works well when it comes to manipulation and controlling battlefields. They are generally know to use their powers to gain access to others minds to obtain information. One huge flaw of this power is that using it for too long, like let's say an hour without any breaks, can cause major damage to the user such as headaches, lose of vision or hearing, or the incapability to move.
The second generation is known as Mind Reapers. As strange term sure, but it fits them rather well. Mind Reapers prefer battles of wit and wisdom. They are a clever bunch, but misleading and manipulative too. They will either be your greatest ally or your worst nightmare. In vampiric society, many Mind Reapers hold positions of power and are chancellors and ambassadors to those in the Court that have a seat within the circle. They love to study magic as well. Because of their curiosity in others ability, they also mentor witches that have either be sanctioned to them or that have no vampiric family ties. One thing to keep in mind, if you see a Mind Reaper in battle, you should either start running or hope the barriers in your mind are strong enough to keep them at bay.
Gen. 3: Fire bending. Vampires from this generation can stand long periods of heat, considering they can not only bend fire but also breathe it. Gen. 3 vampires usually use their powers in close combat, such as combining punches and kicks with fire. They can also put fire walls or circles around them for defense. The key flaw of this power is that Gen. 3 vampires are extremely sensitive to ice and cold temperatures. Using their powers for too long can lead to a boiling point where their blood can over heat, leaving their legs or arms in a numb state. They can cool down if they don't move, but this leaves them vulnerable in battle.
The third generation is known as Flamed Tongue. Whether they're called that because of their heated words or the fire they breathe from their mouths, Flamed Tongues are known to be rather feisty and sometimes egotistic. Nonetheless, they are strong and quick minded. Many spend their years training to become guards or generals within the Court but some have made their way to hold seats within the circle. Older Flamed Tongues are disciplined but viscous. Brute force is common trait to their lives and are hard to persuade when it comes to certain aspects of their lives. As of right now one of the oldest Flamed Tongue, Dasco Val, is the Crowned Eye of the Golden Orchestra, the famed Magic Borne and Vampiric palace that holds a yearly celebration of their cultures as well as a competition between performers for the title of the Golden Siren. His position is judge and manage any events that are held within the massive palace. Strangely enough, within his rule he has issued a new rule that humans are allowed to visit and participate within the festivities. With that, there's also the rule that they should not be preyed upon or played with by forces not within their control, knowledge, or consent.
Gen. 4: Poison. These vampires are much more of a stealth Gen. than others, considering their power mainly sits within their fangs and nails. Their fangs are longer than most and have a dark green tent at the base of their teeth. They also have strangely long fingernails that are sharpened like knives so they can poison they're targets easily. They are immune to poisons and toxins, but cannot receive daylight spells of any sort due to the poison in their own body killing them due to spells. They are extremely weak to witches of any sort.
Gen. 5: Phasing. Gen. 5 are hard to see because of their ability to phase through walls of any type. This does not mean, however, that they defy gravity. Because of this they mostly use their powers to avoid battles by just running through buildings endlessly. They also have increased speed due to their nature. This makes them a great assist for gaining information, since they can obtain items from rooms that would otherwise be unobtainable for others. However, the flaw of phasing is that if they get attacked or injured while phasing, they will either get stuck temporarily in the wall they are going through or just stop phasing altogether, leading to collision.
Gen. 6: Frost. Gen. 6 varies, but for the most part all of them can control ice and do better than others in cold temperatures. Some are known to freeze blood, a rare talent that can be used on most other generations minus one. They can also freeze their arms into blades for attack and build ice walls around them for defense. They are very sensitive to heat and will generally avoid it at all costs. Using their powers to much can lead to them freezing entirely for an extended time or losing their memories or vision.

Ryland Cole MillerRyland has been fascinated by the supernatural as long as he can remember - and it all started with an old family story about vampires that was told without any seriousness. He, however, took it to heart and became intrigued by the supernatural, spending most of his free time digging into different supernatural mythologies. As a result, the VDA was a natural fit for him. Beyond his nerdiness about the supernatural, Ryland is a generally good guy whose worldview about criminal justice tends to be more black and white, especially regarding the supernatural. To him, he can’t understand why it would be difficult to follow rules that would keep their supernatural identities a secret in a society that generally doesn’t know they exist. Ryland is twenty-five years old and stands at average height, with dark brown hair styled as a crew cut, dark brown eyes, a light beard and mustache, and a light skin tone. His lower earlobes are pierced once on each side, and he often wears contacts to correct his poor vision. He currently has no tattoos, though he has plenty of ideas for nerdy ones. Ryland’s family has an interesting story about vampires that has been told and retold for centuries. The story says that there was a close group of siblings, and half of them were turned into vampires. It devastated the siblings who weren’t turned, and they feared it was part of a conspiracy to harm all the siblings. They lived in fear for much of their lives, and their children and grandchildren recall their parents being grateful they could live long lives and watch the children and grandchildren grow up.
Rowlin’s attire is simple*, mostly consisting of semi-formal attire to always appear presentable but without over doing it. Wearing dark jeans, with a variety of dark semi long sleeved shirts; sometimes buttoned shirts, other times a generic dark shirt. Lastly, he walks around in sneakers, a variety of colors that typically changes in colors, because it matches with his typical darker colored attire. Furthermore, he wears a bright green gem ring that matchings his eye color, around his left index finger. On both of his wrists he wears a somewhat thick silver bracelet.
The bracelets he wears, were provided to him as a child, specifically told to never remove them because he cannot. The bracelet can only be removed by his family, or through a passage of ritual from family to those permitted. The bracelets work as restraints, to hold back everything about him from hunger, to fangs, abilities and typically the red eyes (which have begun failing as of late). Under the restraints Rowlin appears as a human, to other individuals and magic individuals alike, making it difficult to convince others that he is a vampire.
With restraints, Rowlin relies on a combination of hand to hand combat with occasional weapons such as ropes, staffs and a variety of weapons. This lad is on the lighter side, so he relies on agility and mobility for combat, mainly relying on his opponent’s strength to obtain the upper hand. When drawn to a corner, Rowlin also relies on muscle, nerves and tendon pressure points in combat to force his opponent out of submission.
Rowlin’s pressure point techniques originate from the “forgotten” Solai clan; techniques initially intended for healing. Targeting nerves can force an individual to lose the ability to feel, hear, smell, see or sense their surroundings sometimes even forcing part of his opponents’ body into paralysis. In more extreme levels, he can manipulate an individual’s 5 senses to force the opponent see something that isn’t there or force the individual to respond abruptly to one of their manipulated five senses. This technique has been considered lost to time, even being scribbled out from the books in fear of a potential use by anyone in the future. Since Rowlin is conflicted, he uses this technique as a last resort as self-defense.
When unrestricted, Rowlin’s vampiric abilities allow him to tap into his opponent’s memories. With as little of a drip of someone’s blood, Rowlin can manifest a web of blood, each thread allows him to tap into someone’s memory. With blood directly from a source, Rowlin would be able to manifest the web of memories, and rewrite, collapse, create or eliminate memories; so long as that string of blood is returned to the source. The web practices originated from Solai healing practices, but has too been written out of the books due to complicated matters.
The first thing people often notice about Hannah is her fun, flirty attitude toward life. She doesn’t appear to take things too seriously because, (probably) in her words, “life is too short to live with a stick up your ass.” The second thing they notice is the blunt way in which she speaks. There’s very little, if any, beating around the bush. When the situation calls for her to be more serious, the fun and flirty attitude disappears, but her bluntness mostly remains because she does choose her words a bit more carefully. She’s quite proud of her appearance in all aspects, as shown by her love of clothes that are tight and short. In many ways, Hannah is used to getting what she wants when she wants it, and she hates being told no. For all the attention she gets with her fun and flirty attitude, she prefers to have a small circle of close friends. This select group of people are the only ones who get to see her traits that she doesn’t want everyone to know about, which includes her hobbies and her love of snuggles.
Hannah is quite talented with magic. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about the theory and study of magic as well as it’s application. She has also mastered many different types of magic. As for more mundane talents, she’s skilled with a sewing machine so she can indulge in cosplaying fantasy book characters. She is a generation three vampire and is frozen at the age of 24. Relationship Status: single and down to hook up.
Hannah is incredibly proud of her appearance, so any negative comment about it is something she’ll hold against someone for a very long time. She’s very protective of her library and would do just about anything to keep people out of it. She’s not focused on doing the right thing. No, she often does the best thing for her, regardless of it being the morally right decision. Even though Hannah is a Generation Three vampire, her magic borne heritage makes her one of the Banished/Betrayed. Birthday: June 18th.
As strong as he is, he is not too quick on his feet. He can take hits, but sometimes cannot race after others. Therefore he stays in place and awaits for his opponent to strike from his positioning. When it comes to other people with abilities or of any un-natural state; it provides a challenge to keep up, but he will hold his own until relief arrives; or until he is forced to retreat. He holds a dear spot for Celestia, and to see her hurt, injured, or in any way taken from him; will set him off or may force him to jump on edge without thinking. When placed in a situation of uncertainty he will hesitate, or fall silent from his usual tall and incoming personality. Married to Celestia.
Sakura Gardens
The Gardens themselves have hundreds of Sakura trees that are spread throughout. There is also a stream that goes through the park from the main lake that is at the top of the Gardens to several waterfalls at the bottom of the park that make for several ponds. There a few benches scattered through the Gardens but there are no major buildings to obstruct the beauty of the Garden. Strangely enough, no one knows who built the Gardens or who planted the trees themselves. However, there is one, lone tree that is in the middle of the lake at the top of the gardens which is surrounded by statues of animals which can only be seen or accessed via boat, but no one has bothered to go see them or the Sakura tree in the middle of the lake since it would be rather difficult to carry a boat of any size from the bottom of the Gardens to the top. The beauty of the Gardens attract many to visit daily, but most people like to visit during the morning or afternoon. There are also two festivals held each year at the Gardens: Hanami, which is the Japanese traditional celebration of the blooming of the Sakura trees throughout Japan which happens during the spring time, and the Winter Festival where fireworks are set off at the top of the Gardens for all to see. It is located in the Southwest section of Embra.
The "Locke & K." Bookstore
A fairly fancy bookstore under the ownership of Evangeline and Diarmaid Locke Kunikida. It's actually their house after going through a little bit of creative renovation. It settles in a quiet neighborhood near the Sakura Gardens, and though it's not as accessible as other big bookstores, its reputation is well known enough for people to still come and visit. Though, they usually have to count on their luck since they don't have a set open and close schedule. So if the store happens to have the sign saying "we're opened!" when you arrive, you're probably in luck! From the outside, it's a very Victorian-styled house with a colour scheme mainly based off of dark blue, black and turquoise. (It's actually more because Evangeline is a nerd who just happens to like Victorian London more than anything.) There's a small garden surrounding the entrance where sometimes Evangeline plants a few herbs or flowers and is kept quite tidy all year round. The house itself is surrounded by evergreen trees on three sides, while the fourth side is where the entrance is located. The store sign is displayed on the same wooden pole as their mailbox and is right next to the entrance doorway that opens in the middle of a black medium height elaborate fence. (The entrance door is usually locked unless of course the bookstore sign indicates it's open.)
Not entirely that big, but home to a lot of old books that you may not be able to find elsewhere. The bookstore is not quite as large as one would imagine it to be, but an adequate size to fit in countless bookshelves full of either old or new books, the older ones full of the comforting aroma of old pages (if you like that smell that is). The house itself has a total of 3 floors (excluding the attic), but only the first and the second floor is accessible to the general public. Most of the shelves were towards the back second half of the bookstore while near the entrance there were smaller tables displaying some of the newer releases or older collector's items. On the right side of the entrance there is a mahogany-coloured sofa and a same styled armchair arranged around a tea table and a rectangular rug in front of a fireplace. Evangeline usually prefers putting in apple wood to fuel the fire since the smell of apple-wood when burned is really nice for a comfy place to read books in.
The second floor that can be reached through a black wood spiral staircase, it's mostly private however, and it is was where Evangeline and Diarmaid's offices are. Most people are not really permitted to go there unless otherwise told to. It was also where they kept the rarer books that Diarmaid and Evangeline picked out themselves, so you could say that the second floor was more like their personal space, relatively.
The last floor is the basement, and that's usually where the older and more dusty books are located Evangeline also keeps a few books that might or might not be related to vampires down in the basement just in case she or her brother needs to access it. Most of the other vampire-related materials are kept in the upper attic. But both places are rather dusty and are not that frequently visited since they have modern technology to use when they want to search up anything at all. Evangeline does visit these two places from time to time just to clean it up.
Wolves Den
Located in the Northeast section of Embra, the Wolves Den serves as one of the biggest vampire run businesses in Embra which has yet to be found by the VDA. It was created and established by Elizabeth Volkov and serves to help other vampires within the city thrive without having to resort to means that could otherwise land them a cell in the VDA. While the Wolves Pool does carter to many needs such as vehicle replacement, new identities, housing, and much more, it's main purpose is research. The team of agents within the Wolves Pool work tirelessly to counter any means that could potentially hurt or destroy Embra's vampire population.
The actual interior of the building is built off of European influence, having most of the rooms built to resemble that of palace rooms from France, Russia, and Italy, although the main research room takes on the influence of that of an artist's dream work space. The tables all vary in size but the room itself is large and open so that way agents can move around freely. There is also a triangular skylight at the top of the room to give natural lighting and air to prevent the room from getting tight and stuffy.
Swan's Fountain
Hidden in the southeast outskirts of Embra and more towards the city of Lazuin, the Swan's Fountain is a forever frozen palace, shrouded in the ever looming threat of unstable blood magic that too was somehow frozen with the confines of the palace. Formerly, the palace belonged to a noble family known as the Verinith family who were known among the Magic Born community as one of the first arcane families to find solace within Embra's bounds. What happened to the family is unknown, however most people, both human and otherwise, known to stay away. The palace, while beautifully crafted with statues of elegant swans surrounding it and furnished for wealth, is filled with underlings ready to strike anything that moves with the palaces halls. When Dalton and James entered the palace, they were met with such foes but then faced a great threat, or maybe an ally, that warned them to leave to avoid becoming entranced in palaces tricks. According to this armored figure, something lies beneath the palace, waiting to be awakened.

Kyv- The fabled woman of the blade, she use to reside in the Palace of Grief and carries the emblem of two blades curving out of the same hilt. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Her Crown- The crown of the Forgotten Princess. Wearing it will bring you closer to her heart and sorrow, a trial which no one has taken.
The Retainer of the Beast- A breastplate that holds the rage of a beast.
Grimoire of Wineith- An ancient book of power said to hold the secret to arcane blood spells.
Golden Blood- It is unclear what it is due to the many stories of it. Some say it's a spell, other's say it's a piece of armor.
You on the other hand do. VDA simply stands for Vampire Detective Agency and goes into cases about the local vampires that live in disguise in the city. It has been established for over 100 years and has a prominent stance over all vampire activity and crime. If vampires are involved in a crime of any sort, the VDA will and can override any police power in the city itself. Under President Steele, the current overseer of the VDA, the agency can now investigate any suspicious activities of witches, mages, sorcerers, wizards, battle mages, and even the Arcancis: the most powerful and influential of the magic born community in Embra. While the VDA has no issue with either vampires or people born with the ability to tap into magic living in the city and what they do, there always has been huge cases of murder and scandal on their end, which has been increasing for reasons unknown. The VDA investigates and takes care of any and all vampires that have stepped out of line to keep the city safe as well as any magic born who assists or takes part in such crimes.
The VDA has a system set up to keep up with activities, old and new. The teams that roam the agency are made up of four people: The Detective, the Field Partner, the Tracker, and the Secretary. The detective is the head of the team, the secretary does all the research like background checks and the like then hands the info to the tracker to find a hot spot where the next incident could be. The field partner assists the detective when finding the person they are looking for and deal with any that comes in their way.
Summary: Two years ago, Team Phoenix was just like any other team within the VDA. Four people worked together in the interest of one common goal: Investigate suspicious, supernatural actives within the city and find a way to resolve it. Now it seems like the team is heading in a different direction. The Sector, one of the elite groups within the VDA, has requested that Team Phoenix join their ranks to aid them in their current task, one of which is unclear. To have all four members join however, their secretary Aika Millan had to undergo a placement test to see if she was qualified to be part of The Sector. During the course she became injured and went immediately to urgent care after both completing the test and confirming her teams spot in The Sector. However, Detective Dalton Black, the head of Team Phoenix, must first approve the teams transfer before anyone member can join The Sectors ranks. Currently, Field Assistance James North and Tracker Naomi Petherwryn are working on a case involving the death and murder of Mr. Duvoint, who was Mr. Black-- Dalton's father-- Field Assistance. After investigating the murder scene which was Mr. Duvoint's apartment, James and Naomi suspect that a Generation One vampire was involved with his murder. Naomi also found a single piece of evidence, a photo of Mr. Duvoint and Mr. Black meeting with an unknown woman with her back facing the photograph that was found in Mr. Duvoints coat that has yet to conjure any answers.
Notice: The plot of this rp heavily relies on character interaction above anything else. Each character has a significant role or tie to the story, so it is vital that you're around to see them through this tale. If you're unavailable for a period time, worry not! While the first three paragraphs give you a basic summary of this rp, the plot really has gone beyond that overtime. So what exactly is the plot then? The best way I can put it without revealing any spoilers to you or anyone else is that this is story about betrayal, love, acceptance, violence, fear, suspicion, failure, and most of all, truth. I know, it's kind of a lot to swallow. But these themes and ideas influence a lot of what's going on. How certain characters react in this world relies heavily on trust and emotion, two things that either work together or don't. There are a lot of truths hidden behind lies and masks in this rp, many of which I hope surprise you or make you go back to read certain post to see if there were hints or clues to these truths all along. Like I said before, I cannot stress how important it is to be here to see this story unfold. Going into the lore, is it possible for a magic born--a witch or a mage--to become a vampire? If so how, and can my character become whatever it is that would be called/be? To the characters knowledge, mainly that of the vampires and witches of this rp, it is not possible for a magic born to become a vampire nor has it ever happened in a successful manor. The only time a magic born has tried to become a vampire of any degree it failed miserably. This transformation caused the person to become a statue of stone, basically petrified. This statue, now called The Frozen Tragedy, is a constant reminder for all magic born to avoid the temptation of trying to become immortal through vampiric means.
However!, it is in fact possible for a magic born to become a vampire or obtain the traits of a vampire. This specie/races is rumored to be called two things based on different view points on these people.
The first is The Banished. People who use this term view these magic born as cursed, evil, and the ultimate form of faith lost if these people were to be created or turned.
The second is The Betrayed. Those who use this term view that these magic born, while now immortal and possibly possessing powers that they shouldn't, were put in this state not by choice but by betrayal, much like that of most vampires.
However, they see that these people may have potential when it comes to their powers, and that they might become Valleanis, a fabled race of myth and legend that could save magic born and the vampiric if either faced extinction.
Also, a side note, it is rumored that these magic born will automatically obtain immortally as well as whatever eye color trait is tied to their Generation, but one eye will always have that color trait while the other carries the original color that magic born was born with. This cannot be changed or reserved unless a cure for these magic born is found. While this race/species is allowed to be used for characters, I request that your character would be magic born first and then Banished/Betrayed later on to add depth to their character.
If my character is magic born, can they practice voodoo or dark magic? If so, will there be consequences? Yes and yes. If your character does practice any type of banned or cursed magic, they will be seen as a threat to most if not all other characters unless they also use or approve of that type of magic. Also, if they encounter any agent from the VDA, the chances of them being afraid, frightened, or suspicious of your character will increase, meaning that that character is allowed to question your character based off of their history and knowledge of your character and their abilities, therefore you shouldn't be surprised or offended in any way if suddenly your characters actions are limited for a certain amount of time.
Vampire Traits and Characteristics
All vampires have natural traits that come along with the ability to steal blood with their fangs. Memory wiping is one of them as well as reading minds, obviously amplified hearing,smell and emotions. Keep in mind for some vampires though one sense might be more extreme than the rest or more dull. They also run a lot faster, almost seeing invisible at some points until they came to a halt which gives them advantages during battles or when they're being chased. Also parkour is natural for them so climbing buildings is easy. For most vampires the smell of blood will trigger their eyes to go into whatever shade is designated for their vampire forms. This is a natural reflex and can be used to figure out older vampires from newer since older vampires will only have this triggered if there are huge amounts of blood around them. Any abnormal colors will replace a vampires original eye color such as red, black, purple etc. Overtime though they can control this factor. Since some vampires need to go out in the sun to stay in disguise they can meet with witches to have them perform spells to allow them to go outside without being harmed. The spell wears off over time and some witches can give you a spell that will last for months but will cost a lot more. Older vampires also may carry ancient weapons from different time periods that have 'perks' to them. If you have any questions about that, please let me know.
Power Structure and Traits of Magic Born
Unlike the unfortunate turning or becoming of vampires, Magic Born are people who are born with magic coursing through their veins. Usually anyone who is Magic Born hails from a family of such people. Most people just refer to them as 'witches' or 'mages' but in the community and power structure of Magic Born, these terms can be seen as insults depending on the person. The lowest position of a Magic Born would be Witch and Mage and they are viewed more as 'students' than anything. However, once a Magic Born masters at least three different forms of magic, they 'graduate' to become a Sorcerer or a Wizard. Then there are Battle Mages: a general, umbrella term used for Sorcerers or Wizards who have mastered five different forms of magic and who use enchanted armor to increase their magics power. Last but not least are top tier Sorcerers and Wizards. Depending on which city or region you are in, each groups name and abilities may vary, but the highest and most respected group in Embra is the Arcancis. These talented Magic Born have mastered the use of Arcane magic, which allows them to combine two types of magic into one. There also Dark and Blood Mages, but they are seen as outcasts in the Magic Born society since they practice magic that is seen as demonic.
Generally, Magic Born are assigned to study under Vampires since they can give guidance about magic unlike many others. Some are trained in the art of healing, which seems to be new in the Magic Born community since most were trained to be Battle Mages. These new healers are called Mystics and train to use the power of light and of nature to aid those around them. As of right now, it is unknown if these healing powers could be used in combat to attack others since research on it is so new. However, other forms of magic are generally sought after to study upon for combat: Fire, Frost, Electricity, Air, Earth, and Arcane are the most known. Other powers such as Teleporation, Plasma, Manipulation of Time and Sound, Manipulation of Energy Force, and Mind Reading are seen as second tier powers and take years to master. Like vampires, Magic Born also have differences in appearance to humans. Some having unnatural eye colors, like black or purple, or have brightened eye colors that seem either neon or pastel like. When casting spells, markings or spells circles may appear in their eyes or on their palms or cheeks. Depending on how strong the spells are or how new the Magic Born is to casting them, bruising may appear on their face or body.
Generations and Bloodlines
Just a brief overview of the two; Generations and Bloodlines are both tied to vampires, both on powers. However Generations follow more in individuals while Bloodlines follows families (in case you were wondering, yeah, vampires can have children, but the children being vampires depends fully on whether or not both parents are vampires and how strong their powers are). With Generations, powers can span for decades and are past down either from ones parents or from whomever turned your character. Each one has a main power that they use, like fire or frost. There are also sub Generations that can show up later on, which are rare cases. Bloodlines follow in heritage, in which someone is born from a vampiric family and inherits their powers and characteristics. However, not all vampires are bestowed or cursed with powers when turned. Vampires not linked to any generation are know as underlings, and are usually used by vampire Masters, Elites, or Juggernauts since they can be controlled rather easily.
Gen. 1: Control over blood. Very rare considering most vampires that are part of this generation have either disappeared or passed away earlier than other vampires. Gen. ones can control blood either around them or from themselves in considerable dosages, either as a shield, barrier, or weapon. They're the only know generation to have healing powers of any sort. Since they have control over blood, they can create a small sphere around injuries to make them heal almost instantly. This makes them fierce fighters considering they can self heal themselves at any given point. However, they are vulnerable to physic and frost abilities. Using their powers for too long will result in them passing out, making them vulnerable during battle.
Outside of VDA terminology, all three generations have actual names to them besides their numbers. Blood or Heart Seekers are the terms used when speaking of blood vampires. The reason why there are two terms for them is due to reputation and fear. Any blood vampire that has either torn a heart from a body or made themselves tethered or bonded to another persons heart is a Heart Seeker. Ones that have not engaged in either of these actions are Blood Seekers. While all vampires do require blood to survive no matter their generation, blood vampires benefit and are restricted by it the most. Their powers amplify by it naturally, but being away from it for too long can be life threatening. Their lust for blood can sometimes over power them so much so that they become Heart Seekers. It is said, however, that some have a softer spot for humanity, and will forge bonds with humans to tether themselves to them. Some see this as a test of friendship and loyalty, while others see it almost as a marriage of sorts as the Heart Seeker cannot use mind altering effects or abilities on the person they're bonded to as they have essentially taken their heart.
Gen. 2: Extending control over mind and emotions. Any vampire that has this power generally has purple eyes when they activate their powers, example being Elizabeth. This works well when it comes to manipulation and controlling battlefields. They are generally know to use their powers to gain access to others minds to obtain information. One huge flaw of this power is that using it for too long, like let's say an hour without any breaks, can cause major damage to the user such as headaches, lose of vision or hearing, or the incapability to move.
The second generation is known as Mind Reapers. As strange term sure, but it fits them rather well. Mind Reapers prefer battles of wit and wisdom. They are a clever bunch, but misleading and manipulative too. They will either be your greatest ally or your worst nightmare. In vampiric society, many Mind Reapers hold positions of power and are chancellors and ambassadors to those in the Court that have a seat within the circle. They love to study magic as well. Because of their curiosity in others ability, they also mentor witches that have either be sanctioned to them or that have no vampiric family ties. One thing to keep in mind, if you see a Mind Reaper in battle, you should either start running or hope the barriers in your mind are strong enough to keep them at bay.
Gen. 3: Fire bending. Vampires from this generation can stand long periods of heat, considering they can not only bend fire but also breathe it. Gen. 3 vampires usually use their powers in close combat, such as combining punches and kicks with fire. They can also put fire walls or circles around them for defense. The key flaw of this power is that Gen. 3 vampires are extremely sensitive to ice and cold temperatures. Using their powers for too long can lead to a boiling point where their blood can over heat, leaving their legs or arms in a numb state. They can cool down if they don't move, but this leaves them vulnerable in battle.
The third generation is known as Flamed Tongue. Whether they're called that because of their heated words or the fire they breathe from their mouths, Flamed Tongues are known to be rather feisty and sometimes egotistic. Nonetheless, they are strong and quick minded. Many spend their years training to become guards or generals within the Court but some have made their way to hold seats within the circle. Older Flamed Tongues are disciplined but viscous. Brute force is common trait to their lives and are hard to persuade when it comes to certain aspects of their lives. As of right now one of the oldest Flamed Tongue, Dasco Val, is the Crowned Eye of the Golden Orchestra, the famed Magic Borne and Vampiric palace that holds a yearly celebration of their cultures as well as a competition between performers for the title of the Golden Siren. His position is judge and manage any events that are held within the massive palace. Strangely enough, within his rule he has issued a new rule that humans are allowed to visit and participate within the festivities. With that, there's also the rule that they should not be preyed upon or played with by forces not within their control, knowledge, or consent.
Gen. 4: Poison. These vampires are much more of a stealth Gen. than others, considering their power mainly sits within their fangs and nails. Their fangs are longer than most and have a dark green tent at the base of their teeth. They also have strangely long fingernails that are sharpened like knives so they can poison they're targets easily. They are immune to poisons and toxins, but cannot receive daylight spells of any sort due to the poison in their own body killing them due to spells. They are extremely weak to witches of any sort.
Gen. 5: Phasing. Gen. 5 are hard to see because of their ability to phase through walls of any type. This does not mean, however, that they defy gravity. Because of this they mostly use their powers to avoid battles by just running through buildings endlessly. They also have increased speed due to their nature. This makes them a great assist for gaining information, since they can obtain items from rooms that would otherwise be unobtainable for others. However, the flaw of phasing is that if they get attacked or injured while phasing, they will either get stuck temporarily in the wall they are going through or just stop phasing altogether, leading to collision.
Gen. 6: Frost. Gen. 6 varies, but for the most part all of them can control ice and do better than others in cold temperatures. Some are known to freeze blood, a rare talent that can be used on most other generations minus one. They can also freeze their arms into blades for attack and build ice walls around them for defense. They are very sensitive to heat and will generally avoid it at all costs. Using their powers to much can lead to them freezing entirely for an extended time or losing their memories or vision.

Detective Dalton Black
Dalton is six feet tall, lean and strong at the age of 25. He somehow manages to have a tan all year round. His eyes are a bright blue, and he wears black rimmed glasses. His hair is black and floppy; he's constantly flipping them out of his eyes, thus disheveling his hair and knocking his glasses out of place- he's constantly straightening them as well. If there's one thing you need to know about Dalton, he's a huge flirt. He rarely means it, and the people he is friends with and works with know this, and don't take him seriously, most of the time. He is a jokester, but knows when to calm done and get his job done. He will always be there for you when you know him. Dalton tries to be a good friend, and has a caring nature. Dalton can make anyone fall in love with him for one thing, but his true talent is piecing things together. That's what makes him the detective. He will always go the extra mile and do his best. Dalton never knows when to stop. He will constantly try to go the extra mile, but because of that he crosses into territories he shouldn't be in, whether it has to do with a case or a person. And he doesn't let anything go. Don't cross Dalton, because he'll never forget it. His father was a detective, and died in the line of duty. Field Partner James North
James is about five foot nine, and has a strong build. He likes to keep in shape, and sometimes the job requires a bit of hand to hand combat. His hair is ginger, and if you make one crack about him being too tall to be a leprechaun, he'll lose all respect for you immediately. His eyes are green, and is pale- he burns in the sun. James is nice, really. He's just so... serious. He takes everything seriously. He has no sense of humor whatsoever. He's loyal, and will respect you, but doesn't show his kind side. It's there, but it's so small most people believe it's nonexistence. James is rather fond of his team though. He's 22 and his ability to keep a straight face is rather astonishing. That aside, he's remarkably intelligent, and is very strategic. James always has a plan, and it's very hard to catch him off guard. He's way too serious for his own good, and is rather out of touch with his own emotions, which isn't a good thing. Tracker Naomi Petherwryn
Known as the stealthy one of her team, Naomi has been part of the Phoenix team for four years now since she was 20, making her 24. Her family has strong connections to the VDA as her mother was one of the lead Field Partners during her time before she retired to raise her family. Naomi denies that she was trained or influenced by her to join the VDA, making her reasoning on why she joined unknown. Her headstrong attitude about her work as the team’s Tracker is well known, as she often will go to great lengths to provide information, the fashion in which she does so questionable at times. She's snarky and has a pretty good sense of humor, although not many people get to see it due to her lack of appearance in her team's office. Most of the time she's busy searching for people related to their cases and will only appear when she has all the information necessary. Because of her lone wolf attitude and the nature of her position, she prefers to keep her cases to herself, so her asking for assistance is rather rare. Despite the nature of her job, Naomi generally has a great respect for personal boundaries for her teammates, or just a lack of interest to pursue asking them questions that lean towards introspection. The same can be applied for her own life, as she keeps her social life separated from that of her work, although she doesn’t mind going out with her teammates from time to time. She has light blonde hair that is swept into a bob haircut that hangs loosely above her dark green eyes. Her skin is tanner than James' but not as rich as Aika's. She's 5'8 in height but usually looks taller than James' due to her platform combat boots that she wears with dark denim jeans, an ebony tank top and a leather jacket or something of the like. She is engaged to her fiancé, Isabelle, and has loose plans to get married in the upcoming summer. Birthday: September 17th.

Secretary Aika "Millan" Hakuryuu
Aika, although the youngest of the team at the age of 21, has slowly built a solid reputation for herself over the span of just two years. She is fast at finding information for her cases and is a great resource for her team due to her extensive knowledge on the vampiric and Magic Born world. For those that know her, they would describe her as a hardworking individual. Unlike other secretaries, she's not afraid to voice her opinions about missions and team based decisions. More often than not she will counter others points to try to win their favor. She's 5'7 in height and has dark, burnt ember eyes with long hair to match that is layered in textures of brown. She keeps her hair in a ponytail during work and has a set of bangs that loosely cut above her eyes. Her work attire tends to be on the more chic side in contrast to Naomi's leather aesthetic. For someone so young, Aika carries a sense of elegance and grace, almost like a noble or person of royal status would, that is hard to find these days. For the past two years of working in the VDA, Aika has been a rather private and guarded person when it comes to herself. This is due entirely on who she really is. The first Golden Siren of the Embrian Court and the Princess of the Hakuryu Court, Aika is one of the few remaining Generation One vampires who has yet to be discovered by the VDA. However, that might change based on the agency's sudden interest in recovering information on the first three vampiric generations, their occupation in the Swan’s Fountain, and when and how her detective, Dalton Black, remembers the truth of their relationship. Beneath the mask that she has hidden behind, Aika is a deeply caring individual who yearns to one day be accepted. Due to her past, she often doubts herself and thinks she is not worthy of things such as trust or companionship, causing her to feel isolated in a world she desperately wants to live in. For the past one hundred years she has refused to drink or feed off of what vampires often refer to as a ‘pure source’, and instead relies on substitutes to quench her thirst. This in turn has diluted her vampiric senses, making it possible for her to live in Embra without the need of wearing a restraint. Unfortunately, this reliance still permits her vampiric appearance to resurface from time to time with her dark brown eyes turning to a wine red and a set of fangs emerging from where her canines would be. Despite the hardships she has gone through and the thoughts of doubt that occasionally rise, Aika does find solace in her life through listening and playing music. She’s a pretty hardcore tea aficionado and loves to collect different blends and tea sets. Aika also has a soft spot and crush on Dalton, which was recently revealed while the two were stuck at their friend James Norths family home alongside the fact that the two were former best friends prior to Dalton’s fathers death. Know mainly as just Agent Calhoun, Peter has been in the VDA since he was 22. A lot has happened in six years for him. From stopping his training as a Detective to become a Tracker, to now being one of the top agents in his sector, you could say he took a rather strange route from where he started. However his methods and personality haven't changed much over the years. He is still very practical and direct when it comes to any situation, and will always analyze things to the best of his capabilities. He's very straight forward for the most part, but will keep within his own limits and guidelines when needed. While what his main job in the sector is unknown to those outside of it, he is known for being one of battle trainers for agents that are moving up and need to better their technique. He is also generally known for his looks, otherwise he'd just be a ghost really. He has ash brown hair and light green eyes and is about six feet tall.Featherleg
Moriko Karasu
Moriko is known for her renowned work at the VDA, mostly in the medical department. While some doctors struggle to keep patients injuries from becoming worse, Moriko, known mainly has Doctor Mori, prevents them from ever causing her patients any further pain than it already has. She has also been around a bit longer than most. Eighteen years to be exact. When she was twenty one, she moved to Embra from Japan with her husband and her daughter, Nariko, due to her becoming part of the sector. That would weigh her in to be thirty nine years, although she hardly looks it. Appearance wise she has dark brown hair, almost the color of a ravens, that falls just short around her ears. She has caramel brown eyes that are sometimes framed between her glasses. Height wise she's about 5'4 without her heels. If you ever get to know Moriko outside of hospital, you'll know that she's rather good at reading others. Having been around for so long she understands others pains beyond what normal doctors do. She also has a calming aura to her. Many say this is due to the fact that she is a mother and has a child to raise, unlike others, but she brushes comments like that off for the most part. Evangeline Locke Kunikida
Evangeline is a very young girl of the age 20 and is not very tall with a height of 5'6. She has long black hair going down to her chest and medium length bangs that are parted to the left side of her face, almost covering her eye. She chooses to either tie up her hair in a ponytail or let it fall freely down her shoulder depending on her mood or what she's doing. Most of the time, however, she ties her hair up into a ponytail since she is usually working and the hair can sometimes gets in the way. When tying her hair up into a ponytail, she also likes to use bobby pins to secure her bangs into a fixed shape so they don't flop around and get all messy. Evangeline's outfit of choice is a white dress shirt with a navy coloured vest on top (she likes vests with a lot of pockets). Usually she'd tie a ribbon under the collars, and the colour of the ribbon is either dark blue or light blue by random. She prefers to wear baggy trousers that go down to her knees and long boots that are usually reddish brown in colour. As another staple of aesthetics, Evangeline always has a cape that she wears every day. She is a very reserved dresser and doesn't really like it when parts of her skin get exposed. Maybe it's because she is a little bit secretly afraid of vampires . Evangeline can be either shy or open depending on who you are. With people she knows, she's very open, smiling and talking all the time, even sometimes popping out a few jokes. But with strangers, she becomes increasingly reserved, and she wouldn't talk unless you engage her first. She is very optimistic and likes to think of the brighter side of every situation, she has a very idealized view of life, and well, is a little too happy sometimes for her own good. Since she is relatively new and young to her job as a secretary, she is trying her best to do what she can, and can be flustered if she accidentally screws something up. For this reason, Evangeline is grateful of her brother, who always supported her no matter what. Evangeline is a reader of books, and can read a lot of books in a short amount of given time. This allows her to scan through a lot of files with accuracy and she can pick out important information very quickly. On the other hand, while she may be more adept intellectually, her physical combat is very weak. She has not had training of any kind with close combat weapons, but has had some with long range weapons such as crossbows and revolvers. However, the only weapon she was comfortable with using is a crossbow, but she rarely even touches one and does not know how to operate the revolver her brother uses. As mentioned before, Evangeline is very weak in physical combat, so she'd likely be defeated or killed very easily. Her optimistic view of life can also give her problems in life as she tends to like to trust almost every one she knows. She may have her doubts at times, but she chooses not to show it. Her overwhelming optimism is sure to attract attention of people seeking to exploit her or use her since she is too nice to really doubt other people's true intentions when they're being so nice to her. She hates conflict, and would rather stop a fight than to help either side win and hurt each other. She is also of mixed descent, that being Irish and Japanese. Diarmaid Locke Kunikida
Diarmaid is a tall young man with a height of 6'2. Like his little sister Evangeline, he has mostly medium length sleek black hair and short bangs that are parted in the middle a little bit towards the left. The longer parts of his hair towards the back of his head is kept in a ponytail that he usually keeps trailed down on his shoulder or just dangling on his back. Like his sister, Diarmaid is a reader of books, but that hobby of his eventually got his eyesight impaired and he now wears a pair of rimless glasses. He is usually seen wearing a black dress shirt and a light brown vest that goes over it. A pair of black trousers is standard for him as well, and he is seen all of the time with a pair of black leather boots. Depending on his mood, he'd either wear a tie or a ribbon under the collar of the shirt, but it really depends on his mood. Diarmaid does possess a similar version of the cape that Evangeline tends to like to wear all the time, but is not seen around with it unless he is working on tracking down someone. He sometimes regards that cape as his lucky charm, so he hates to get it dirty. Diarmaid is a very serious person. He usually carries around a notebook to keep track of his daily events and duties. He would also sometimes jot down a few useful information he hears when he is talking with others, and will almost always have a checklist in that notebook that he can check off after he has done it. With very set ideals and very strict rules he puts onto himself, he is quite a very nice gentleman. However, it is to be noted that should other people accidentally or intentionally cause his schedule to become messed up (such as arriving late for an appointment), there is a very high chance that he would become quite angry. However, that phase is sure to pass, and before you know it, he's your friend again. At times, Diarmaid can also be a very proud person, he does not like to be looked down on, but he recognizes others strength when he sees it in them. A very skilled tracker than can track down his targets with ease. He likes working with his sister the most, since well, they're family and they communicate better together. Diarmaid also knows some basic close combat techniques just in case he runs into any emergencies during any field work. His weapon of choice are medium lengthen daggers he keeps around in his belt, and sometimes if he feels insecure about the mission he is given, he would use a concealed small revolver that can be triggered by a flick of his right wrist. To be quite honest though, he's better at ranged combat with that revolver. Being such an uptight person with an idealized version of his life, Diarmaid can be too picky about details. In fact that is a reason why Evangeline sometimes really hates working with her brother. However he is slowly working on that, but is showing very slow progress. His temper can also be quite a bit of a problem, as when he is insulted (especially about his ideals) he can be quite rash. Like his little sister, he is also of Irish and Japanese descent. Rowlin S. Willow
Rowlin appears initially as a 17 – early 20’s standing at the edge of 5’7, barely making it to 5’8 depending on the kind of shoes he is wearing. His hair is a notable shade of red, neatly mid long wavy hair brushed into multiple sections, an attention grabber-typically the one to stick out from a crowd. His eyes are a bright warm green color, that often shift to dark green as a result of a thin barely noted pair of contacts, that prevent his eyes from randomly changing to a scarlet red color without his awareness.Rowlin’s attire is simple*, mostly consisting of semi-formal attire to always appear presentable but without over doing it. Wearing dark jeans, with a variety of dark semi long sleeved shirts; sometimes buttoned shirts, other times a generic dark shirt. Lastly, he walks around in sneakers, a variety of colors that typically changes in colors, because it matches with his typical darker colored attire. Furthermore, he wears a bright green gem ring that matchings his eye color, around his left index finger. On both of his wrists he wears a somewhat thick silver bracelet.
The bracelets he wears, were provided to him as a child, specifically told to never remove them because he cannot. The bracelet can only be removed by his family, or through a passage of ritual from family to those permitted. The bracelets work as restraints, to hold back everything about him from hunger, to fangs, abilities and typically the red eyes (which have begun failing as of late). Under the restraints Rowlin appears as a human, to other individuals and magic individuals alike, making it difficult to convince others that he is a vampire.
With restraints, Rowlin relies on a combination of hand to hand combat with occasional weapons such as ropes, staffs and a variety of weapons. This lad is on the lighter side, so he relies on agility and mobility for combat, mainly relying on his opponent’s strength to obtain the upper hand. When drawn to a corner, Rowlin also relies on muscle, nerves and tendon pressure points in combat to force his opponent out of submission.
Rowlin’s pressure point techniques originate from the “forgotten” Solai clan; techniques initially intended for healing. Targeting nerves can force an individual to lose the ability to feel, hear, smell, see or sense their surroundings sometimes even forcing part of his opponents’ body into paralysis. In more extreme levels, he can manipulate an individual’s 5 senses to force the opponent see something that isn’t there or force the individual to respond abruptly to one of their manipulated five senses. This technique has been considered lost to time, even being scribbled out from the books in fear of a potential use by anyone in the future. Since Rowlin is conflicted, he uses this technique as a last resort as self-defense.
When unrestricted, Rowlin’s vampiric abilities allow him to tap into his opponent’s memories. With as little of a drip of someone’s blood, Rowlin can manifest a web of blood, each thread allows him to tap into someone’s memory. With blood directly from a source, Rowlin would be able to manifest the web of memories, and rewrite, collapse, create or eliminate memories; so long as that string of blood is returned to the source. The web practices originated from Solai healing practices, but has too been written out of the books due to complicated matters.

Yan (彥) Z. Schrödinger
Yan is a confident tall young female with a height of 5'7 (170cm). She has short-medium length black hair that reaches below her shoulders. She had her hair dyed- certain streaks of it being wine red, but this is only visible under light. Otherwise she just looks like she has plain black hair. She is always seen wearing a headband of some sorts in her hair. While the headband does vary sometimes depending on her mood, she prefers to wear a simple one that's turquoise in colour and has a ribbon tied to the left side, where her bangs are parted. She has a pair of wine red and navy headphones that she keeps hanging around her neck and also a pair of rimless glasses that she only uses for reading or when she's researching. Yan was never, or never will be, someone that follows much in fashion. She tends to go with what is comfortable rather than what is stylish, and sometimes even have trouble understanding female fashion as some of the clothes she just finds downright unreasonable and illogical. She prefers her simple attire of a deep maroon t-shirt (on top of which is a picture of Schrödinger's cat, surprise surprise) worn inside of a military green collared shirt. The collared shirt is actually bought from the male boutique but it wouldn't matter because Yan wears it like a jacket (always unbuttoned) and keeps the sleeves rolled up to above her elbow. The main reason she bought it was because she liked the two pockets on the shirt where she keeps some pens and utensils in (female dress-shirts sometimes don't have pockets and she hates that). Her outfit is complete with a medium length black skirt that reaches a little bit above her knee and she wears a pair of long black lace boots (no stockings). More often that not she is just seen in this sort of attire, only sometimes with slight variations in colour. Another set of colours she wears them in is an indigo green t-shirt with a black collared shirt jacket and the skirt changed to a dark shade of navy. She keeps a set of those collared shirts in her closet so she has a lot of colours to change into just in case. Otherwise, the one described above is her favourite. Simply put, Yan is a techno geek, gamer, and an antisocial genius (kind of) in computing, programming and hacking. However, a certain incident has caused her to dislike going outside, so she can be sort of a shut-in. She prefers not talking about the incident (and also because I still have to make it up XD). After joining VDA team Phantom 1412, she is slowly getting better at this and is going outside more with the help from a new friend- Finn. She is very confident in her abilities and can conduct research quite easily with just her laptop computer since she is skilled in that aspect. Unlike how she was before- shy and not social at all- she had become quite open (again with the he help from her friends in the team) kind, and talkative. She came to understand that people aren't so bad as she imagined them to be after all and now enjoys some time outside. However, after a while of being with a crowd or a lot of people she needs to wind down and stay inside for a day to "recharge". A classic introvert. Yan now makes friends easily, but she can appear intimidating to those that don't know her too much. She can be sometimes a little egoistic and over-confident of her abilities which can be a problem. To those that are nice to her, she is nice back, but if you are mean to her, let's just say she probably will ignore you in exchange. When she is not working, she likes gaming on her various gaming devices. There are also times when she would multitask- doing research and playing video games all at once (but she tries not to let other people notice). An idealist and an optimist, Yan now has her own set of morals and ideals that she follows. She enjoys the pace of her life, and would prefer for it to stay that way. Since Yan is a techno geek, research comes in easy for her. She is quick to find information on her targets and does things relatively quickly despite her tendency to be lazy and delay. She also enjoys reading books every now and then, but she dislikes non-fiction because she finds it pointless. Being a post-shut-in, Yan has little to no ability to defend herself in a combat. She is more suitable for background work and research due to her personality and talents, but if put on the field she would be in a lot of trouble. Her confidence sometimes is a good thing, but sometimes she can be over-confident which can also lead to problems: problems such as putting work off until the last minute. Yan can be also really stubborn idea-wise, and is not prone to accept new ideas that easily. She likes things the way they are, and therefore is not a discoverer that enjoys new ideas (unless she likes the idea of course). Yan tends to get into arguments with people whose ideal system doesn't matches hers, hence her limited amount of friends. Laziness can also add to her flaws as she just likes to wander around and do what she enjoys rather than what is required. That, however, doesn't mean she doesn't respect her work or the people around her. It just means she's lazy. When the deadline comes, she sometimes has to cram to get the work done on time. She still regards work as important, but I guess not as important as her life. In addition, she has a fear for magic-born because of the incident mentioned before. Being a believer of science, she does not understand the way magic works or how they happen because scientifically it's not explainable. That counts toward her weakness of being stubborn minded, as she does not know how to accept magic as an idea. Yan is a good friend of Evangeline and Diarmaid, but they have been out of contact for a while. Yan used to teach Evangeline about the things she could do for researching suspects. She is of mixed Chinese and German decent but with most of her childhood spent in Germany (so she speaks good German and may sometimes say a few German words). Once she took care of an injured magpie that just happened to appear at her doorsteps and the magpie now returns once in a while and brings her shiny things. Elizabeth Volkov
Well known in the elite and ghost category of the VDA, Elizabeth is an legendary vampire stuck at the age of 26. She reigns from Russian nobility and is known as "Volkov Arabesque". Her name is coined after the ballet term of a ballerina standing on one leg to support the other that is turned out and extended and her last name-- Volkov-- meaning wolf. Combining the two paints a clear idea for most people. Elizabeth is not one to toyed with. She is both graceful and deadly, as she was trained to be both a ballerina and assassin (just like Black Widow, minus the brain washing). How Elizabeth became a vampire is unknown, however her powers are not. While she is trained in close combat, she prefers use anything similar to a bow. She also as an enhanced mind reading ability that allows her to control people and determine possible events. Normally her eyes are a piercing, frost blue that turns to sharp lavender when her powers are activated. She has straight, long, platinum blond hair that is usually pulled into a ponytail when training others. Much like Aika, she lives a double life in Embra: teaching ballet and working undercover to find out VDA secrets. On both sides, she is a very tactical and strategic person, choosing things only that will benefit her and others that she cares about. Barely does she show kindness to others, but she does she is a very honest and kind person. Aika and Anna know this all too well since they are very close with her. Saizo
The first thing you should know about Saizo is that he only goes by his first name, and nothing else unless you know of his origins. Otherwise, just call him Saizo. At 6'1, Saizo has dark brown hair with hints of burnt red. Most of the time it's pushed back so it doesn't get in his eyes, but he can change it to more standard/modern hairstyle if needed. His eyes are dark brown normally and become a dark red with white streaks when his powers are triggered. When it comes to his powers, Saizo prefers to keep them off to the side and uses stealth and quick, fluid movements for battle. Knowing his powers come from the ability of blood bending and how powerful his abilities really are, he doesn't use them unless needed. However, he has mastered what he can so that way he could help Aika with understanding how to control her powers as well. Being her personal trainer and bodyguard for so long, he is rather protective over her and will go above and beyond normal means to make sure she is safe and happy. In general though, Saizo is pretty distant. He keeps to himself and is usually pretty quiet. He's also rather reserved in most situations and will only talk if he sees it is needed. Dasco Val
The Crowned Eye of the Golden Orchestra, more plainly known as the Embrian Court, Dasco is one of the oldest and most reputable Flamed Tongues in vampiric society. Having held the position of the sovereign of said court for a majority of his current life, Dasco is known as a charming host and lover of culture, art, and magic. Unlike other Court leaders, he spends more time trying to welcome and please his guests and employees instead of focusing on what he would consider the more mundane topics, like whether or not magic born should live within the court system or have their own. Dasco is a firm believer of following one's passions in life, and prefers to spend his time ensuring others around him can as well. He is, however, a schemer, and loves to see a plan through to fruition. One of his major faults would be his investment in things that would be described or seen in vampiric society as frivolous. While he doesn’t necessarily care about said comments, he can get distracted from time to time on things that do not correlate to his duties. Appearance wise, Dasco is frozen at the age of twenty eight and has sharp, emerald green eyes. His dark black hair is wavy in texture and is always styled. He has a tall and slender frame, clocking in at 6’2. Attire wise, Dasco is normally seen wearing fashionable and well tailored suits that seem to change in style and era every week, as if he’s ready for magazine or photoshoot at any given moment. He has a collection of jewelry such as rings, watches, and earrings that he tends to cycle through. Eveline is a short, middle aged (twenty two years old) woman with long frizzy hair. Her hair is combed behind her ears and pulled into a pony tail because she doesn't like when it tickles her chin. Her eyes are a pale black-blue, like old bruises. She has bronze colored skin and usually wears jeans and a sweatshirt, which is most often gray or brown. She likes wearing tennis shoes, which are always impeccably clean. She has trouble with interacting with others and doesn't talk much, so many times she's left out of activities. She feels like she is a loner, but really she just needs to put herself out there more. She has this pit of loneliness inside herself that she can't get rid of, and is really sad sometimes. On good days she smiles a lot, which surprises the people who know her. She even hums. She's very good at blending in with humans, even if the humans think she is a little gloomy. She has more human-like talents then vampire-like talents, she's good at house keeping (which is her job), and is good with making broken technology work again. She has low confidence, feeling like she may be the worst vampire in existence because of her appearance and personality. Though timid and shy, Anna has always been known in her family as the book smart witch. Unlike her three older siblings, Anna relies more on knowledge and information than simple spell casting, which is perhaps why she's Aika personal witch. At the age of 23, Anna is 5'3 and has very light, pale skin. She tans and burns easily in hot weather so she prefers just to stay inside and keep her window open whenever possible. Her hair is a nice strawberry blonde with hints of auburn that falls straight and layered at her shoulders. Her eyes are completely black, which seems to be a carrying trait in her family. However, when spellcasting, her eyes will portray a symbol of the spell she's using. While not uncommon, it has been said that witches that display this trait can be rather powerful since their magic comes from their heart and soul rather than just simple casting. To keep suspicion down to a minimum, she usually wears a pair of sunglasses to hide her eyes from the public. Most of time she can be found studying ancient texts and spells to better improve her skills. She has rather high standards for herself and always pushes herself to learn more. This is mainly based off her believing she is the weaker of her older siblings, considering her two older brothers, Oliver and Felix, and her older sister Enya, are all Battle Mages. Seeing that she is fourth oldest out of her eight siblings, she sees that her failure to follow suit brings her and her family major shame and dishonor, even though she was picked to Aika's personal witch. While she is kind and caring of others, she is also extremely timid. She lacks confidence in herself, making it easy for her to doubt her own abilities. Her timidness mainly comes from the fact that when she was a teenager, she had an incident where she was injured by a Gen. 3 vampire, leaving a rather large scar across the side of her stomach. To improve her training and her confidence, Aika bestowed a gauntlet to Anna the day after she was assigned to her. Thomas "Tom" Lawton
Tom lived as a witch of many years before he became one of the Betrayed. He has lived in Germany for many years before he returned to the town he was born in. He has managed to stay under the VDA's radar for all his time as a Betrayed. He was well known when he was a witch. He has no living family as far as he knows of, but he is (was) very close to Eveline. He was a Battle Mage who had mastered the powers of Frost, Fire, Earth, Mind Reading, and Plasma. Appearance wise he has short blond hair that is usually messed up and has a habit of running his hand through it when he's thinking about something important. His skin is pale with a few freckles around his nose. He can blend in with humans rather well, he has to, otherwise the VDA may find out about him. He sells used cars and doesn't take the job very seriously. Usually he likes to wear short sleeved shirts, typically with some type of logo on it, and blue jeans. He's the type that takes jokes as much as he makes them and can see the joke in almost every situation. But there are situations when he doesn't look on the bright side would be when someone is hurt or in danger, then he loses his sense of humor. When things get serious he is the one you should fall back on since he tends keeps a cool head when everyone else is panicking. He's also very good at cards, because he has mastered the ability of an expressionless face. His sense of humor sometimes gets on peoples nerves and he doesn't get mad easily. Even though he can keep calm when in a dangerous situation he underestimates how bad a situation might be. He can, and probably will, jump in with a plan, but if that one fails he probably does not have a backup one. Currently he is single, but may have relationships in the future.Misty
Lucas Daniel Grey
Lucas stands just shy of six feet tall and is frozen at the age of twenty two. He is in shape, with his muscles being toned but not bulky. His eyes are hazel in color, and his medium brown hair is styled into an undercut. He uses product to ensure the top is voluminous and fluffy, but his habit of running his fingers through his hair takes away from that. He has a handful of piercings in his left ear, including a daith piercing and two rings in his lower earlobe. He also has two rings in his left nostril. All the jewelry is black because he likes the contrast against his fair skin. Lucas also has a couple of tattoos. On his right upper arm, he has an armband consisting of seven lines (the top three and bottom three lines are thinner than the middle line). Both his forearms are covered in geometric designs. He also often wears a pair of non-prescription glasses. Despite having a confident and generally charming exterior, Lucas doesn’t always think too highly of himself because of a troubled past. This troubled past also makes him wary of people who aren’t at least friends of good friends, so it’s often difficult for him to let new people into his life. He is content to have a small group of important people in his life. This small group of people get to see Lucas at his best, when he’s unafraid and unbothered by his troubled past. He would do just about anything to protect those closest to him. One trait that is always present is his stubbornness. Once he has made a decision, it’s difficult to change his mind. Lucas is also the sort that’s quick to become angry, and he likes to make that known. Lucas is quite the talented artist across many different mediums. He has quite the stash of art supplies at his place, and he’s protective of his art. Though not quite a talent, he also enjoys reading in his free time. Lucas is unknowledgeable about vampiric and magic borne society despite having a place in both. Society makes him uncomfortable because it’s unfamiliar, and therefore, seemingly unsafe. He is also unknowledgeable about his own powers. Selena "Val" Grey
A rather distant but ever knowing ally, Selena is known in the Wolves Pool as Elizabeth's most trusted assistant. When she first entered the Wolves Pool, is was not with permission but with question. Somehow she had appeared before Elizabeth in her office, offering her her knowledge and powers in exchange for access to what Elizabeth's organization had. An agreement was made shortly there after. While her age is unknown, Selena's appearance is pretty easy to remember, as long as it's her original appearance. Her face is framed with wisp like black hair with hints of dark, royal blue that meet and curl around her shoulders. Her eyes are a hazel green with a stoic, steel glaze that never seems to drop. Her wrists have tattoos the curl around her skin that resemble arcane markings that seem to glow whenever she is focused on her work, such as identifying the essence of vampiric magic or the strength of the power bestowed within a weapon. Unlike magic bornes, her eyes do not glow or have magic glyphs appear within them. Only the area around her wrists seem to react to whatever magic she has. For the most part, Selena is known to be a patient ally and will be kind to those who seem to share similar interest with hers. However, she can be stubborn and blunt when things go astray and will do whatever it takes to get a result of some kind for her and Elizabeth's research. She dresses in between Elizabeth's and Aika's fashion senses: while her outfits are chic and elegant, there is a sense that her outfits are made to protect her to some degree. Why she is working with the two isn't as clear, as she doesn't have binds like Anna does to Aika, but she does seem willing to assist them in their mission. Birthday: October 29th. Misty
Hannah Marie Grey
Hannah is a tall, curvy woman whose love of designer heels often makes her appear to be taller than the five feet and ten inches at which she stands. Her eyes (one bright green and one warm orange but normally hidden beneath a bright green color contact) are lined with black winged eyeliner and smoky eyeshadow, but her love of makeup doesn’t end there. She wears a full face of makeup every day, with the only variation being her highlighter and lipstick colors. Her lower back-length blonde hair has about as much variation, as she only wears it in two styles: half-up top knot with the ends curled or space buns with the underside braided. She has a multitude of piercings in her ears, a nose stud on the left, a twisted barbell in the middle of her lower lip, and a bellybutton piercing. She also has many tattoos, including a book-themed tattoo on her right forearm, two pairs of cat paws on her right shoulder blade, a simple cat tattoo above her left elbow, a floral sternum tattoo, and four tattoos on her ankles (two on each ankle with one inside and one outside). Her almond-shaped nails are always painted black, and she always wears at least one necklace and multiple rings. Her skin tone is fair and she is frozen at the age of twenty four.The first thing people often notice about Hannah is her fun, flirty attitude toward life. She doesn’t appear to take things too seriously because, (probably) in her words, “life is too short to live with a stick up your ass.” The second thing they notice is the blunt way in which she speaks. There’s very little, if any, beating around the bush. When the situation calls for her to be more serious, the fun and flirty attitude disappears, but her bluntness mostly remains because she does choose her words a bit more carefully. She’s quite proud of her appearance in all aspects, as shown by her love of clothes that are tight and short. In many ways, Hannah is used to getting what she wants when she wants it, and she hates being told no. For all the attention she gets with her fun and flirty attitude, she prefers to have a small circle of close friends. This select group of people are the only ones who get to see her traits that she doesn’t want everyone to know about, which includes her hobbies and her love of snuggles.
Hannah is quite talented with magic. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about the theory and study of magic as well as it’s application. She has also mastered many different types of magic. As for more mundane talents, she’s skilled with a sewing machine so she can indulge in cosplaying fantasy book characters. She is a generation three vampire and is frozen at the age of 24. Hannah is incredibly proud of her appearance, so any negative comment about it is something she’ll hold against someone for a very long time. She’s very protective of her library and would do just about anything to keep people out of it. She’s not focused on doing the right thing. Celestia Akiyama
The rumored Crescent Goddess, Celestia is one of the few remaining Lunaras's--enchantresses who not only have mastered several magics in their time, but who primarily fight and heal with the power of the moon. Hailing from the same time period as Aika and her court, it is a mystery as to how she remains at the age of twenty six. Appearance wise, her skin is that of a chestnut hue that frames her sage green eyes. Usually she keeps her long, pitch black hair down but will keep it up in a bun when performing healing rituals. While she does possess the same physical effect that many magic borne do, hers is much more noticeable as she has hundreds of birthmarks scattering her skin that vary from stars, to constellations, to cycles of the moon itself. Most of her attire consists of loose fitting, earth or soft metallic tone tunics with denim jeans and boots or shift dresses paired with cardigans. After using her powers for extended amounts of time, her eyes and birthmarks shine a bright silver. Not only can she heal with her lunar powers, she can also fight with them with a technique her tribe calls Eclipsing, in which they form strings of moonlight around their legs or arms to deliver heavy blows, either directly or through energy manipulation. Having mastered this magic, she was able to turn her mothers rapier into a weapon of the moon, allowing her abilities to become stronger while wielding it. Celestia is not only a great and focused fighter, but a dedicated teacher and friend. Most of her time is spent training newly turned vampires or those who have come to the realization that they too have magic running through their veins. When she is not focused on training, she often returns to her upbeat and more often mischievous side. Having grown up in a village where education and respect gained more attention than comedy or comfort, she tried to balance the strictness of her elders teachings with the sense of kindness she carried with her from such a young age which is often said to have major effects on those she teaches. Having grown up this way led her to believe that most of her burdens were for her alone to carry. At times, this makes her push herself to her limits to prove her worth to save others, disregarding her own life and circumstances. She also dislikes people who lack discipline or focus and will often criticize them for it. At some point during the war, she found herself falling for a fellow ranking lieutenant named Derrick, who was highly respected within the army for his ethics, workmanship, and battle techniques. Most of her time now is spent still training others in the arts of magic, but she is also a medical teacher at one of the local high schools. She has two younger siblings, Urian and Leila, who are twins and are currently attending one of the first Magic Borne colleges in Embra as well as three children: Damian, Kai, and Viola. Nariko "Natasha" Karasu
The daughter of the Sector's Doctor Mori. Most believe that from how her mother behaves and treats those she works with, Nariko would fall under her calm demeanor. However, this is not the case. For a seventeen year old, Nariko is actually rather rebellious, but in her mind it's for a good cause. Ever since she began high school, she has been teased as the ballerina with no guidance. Her parents both work countless hours so she barely gets to see them unless she visits them during their work hours. Due to her being treated this way, she has taken on a rather defensive personality. If someone tried to judge her or call her out on something, she will defend herself by her own means, no matter the consequences. Not only is she teased for the absence of her parents, she also has been teased for her birth name, Nariko, meaning 'thunder' or 'humble' child or one who climbs high. Deciding that enough was enough, she now goes by the name 'Natasha' at school, and seems to grimace or cringe when called her birth name. Truthfully, she loves her birth name but cannot stand being belittled for it. Appearance wise, she has short, layered black hair with streaks of blue. Her eyes resemble the same caramel color of her mothers, however she has small highlights of amber towards the iris of her eye, which seem to come from her father. She also falls in between her parents heights, being 5'6. When she's not at school, she either spends her time at the ballet studio she is trained at, at her parents offices, or with her friends such as Lilly, who is James' younger sister. Since her parents aren't around much, she gets around the city by either her blue and yellow motorcycle or her skateboard. Even though she has built up a wall to those around her, minus her friends, Nariko is a rather humble person. She tries her best in school and in ballet and would be devastated if anything were to happen to the people she cares about. Although she appears rather confident most of the time, she actually gets scared pretty easily is confronted by herself. She looks up mainly towards the women in her life who display the confidence she hopes to one day truly master. Birthday: April 17th. ~Rosestar~
Lily Scarlet North
Automatically, the first thing one notices about her is her bright ginger hair. It's cut short in a pixie cut so it doesn't get in her way, and tends to frizz out more often than she'd like. Her eyes are bright steel blue, more gray than blue around the pupil, and freckles are scattered not only across her nose, but her whole body. She's taller than her older brother James, standing at six feet, and it annoys him to no end. She has the same lean, willowy frame as him, and isn't as muscular because she has no job that demands it. However, she still exercises, mostly running and yoga. She's always wanted to take up kickboxing, both for fun and to build up muscle, but with her current overloaded school schedule, it hasn't been able to happen yet. Normally she wears jeans and combat boots, but her tops vary on how she's feeling that day. Her signature piece of clothing is a black sleeveless vest. If there's one way to describe Lilly's personality, it's confident. Every move she makes seems planned out, making it appear as if she knows what she's doing at all times. Even her outbursts are worded in such a way that it seems it's all fueling a greater good, aiding some future scheme. She's smooth, but doesn't always keep her head. Though she'll tell you otherwise, Lily is impulsive, which does allows her to act quickly and further propel the illusion that she knows what she's doing, but thinking quickly is not part of the equation. While Lily does always have no less than five plans on her at all times, they're all on a small scale. In fact, Lily had no idea what she wants to do with her life at all. Does this scare her? Only a little. It's more frustrating for her than anything, because she's built herself up as a pillar, one who always can be relied on and who always has a plan. To deviate away from this is almost an alien concept at this point, after seventeen years of being stuck in her ways. Though her manner of going about things makes her seem unapproachable, Lily is friendly, even if she doesn't make a lot of close friends. Not a lot of people can keep up with her antics, but she is very loyal to those who can, and always turns to them in good times and in bad, and hope they do the same with her. Even if her overall brain power is only moderate, there can be no denying that Lily has a gift for all things mechanical. Whether it's tuning up Natasha's motorcycle or wiring the school PA system to play Jeopardy theme music in between classes, she has a handle on it that most experts wish they had when they were her age. She's also incredibly hardworking, to the point of over achievement. She works tirelessly to be the best at everything she does, from her schoolwork to her hobbies. Thankfully, Lily isn't obsessed about being number one; as long as she did her best, that is more than satisfying. One thing that she and her brother have in common, besides the hair of course, is their inability to lie. While James doesn't because lying is immoral, Lily is more proud of her choices and thoughts. For example, if someone were to ask if she pulled a particular prank, rather than pass the blame onto someone else, she'll stick out her chin defiantly and say, "Yes I did, what's it to you?" She's also very stubborn, particularly when it comes to when someone thinks they know better than her. Derrick S. Hendrix
Derrick is a calming individual who can take on much impact from others before collapsing. He is willing to hear others out, and considers teamwork to be of up most importance. He's cautious and considerate; holding back not only himself but others when a situation appears too "giving." He may act fatherly towards anyone but that factor plays into his time as a military commander; constantly over the years gripping his units together. Military tactician with a surprising love for cooking. Derrick uses spices from world wide, family recipes, and small traditional meals. He also enjoys hockey in his prime time.Derrick stands at nearly 6 feet; with a all bulky build he prefers to wear looser shirts rather then tight ones. He has dark brown eyes, and a somewhat faint tan from being out in the sun. With his black hair he prefers to keep it neatly cut if not much else. Style is rather simplistic in fashion; from jeans to long sleeve plain color shirts. On other days dress gray or black pants with buttoned up long or short sleeve shirts. From time to time he may consider a polo shirt ranging from blue, orange, red, or sometimes pink. He wears a wrist watch on his right wrist, which he had personally crafted from Ireland. His shoes range from boots, to simplistic sneakers.
As strong as he is, he is not too quick on his feet. He can take hits, but sometimes cannot race after others. Therefore he stays in place and awaits for his opponent to strike from his positioning. When it comes to other people with abilities or of any un-natural state; it provides a challenge to keep up, but he will hold his own until relief arrives; or until he is forced to retreat. He holds a dear spot for Celestia, and to see her hurt, injured, or in any way taken from him; will set him off or may force him to jump on edge without thinking. When placed in a situation of uncertainty he will hesitate, or fall silent from his usual tall and incoming personality. Married to Celestia.
Locations
Sakura Gardens
The Gardens themselves have hundreds of Sakura trees that are spread throughout. There is also a stream that goes through the park from the main lake that is at the top of the Gardens to several waterfalls at the bottom of the park that make for several ponds. There a few benches scattered through the Gardens but there are no major buildings to obstruct the beauty of the Garden. Strangely enough, no one knows who built the Gardens or who planted the trees themselves. However, there is one, lone tree that is in the middle of the lake at the top of the gardens which is surrounded by statues of animals which can only be seen or accessed via boat, but no one has bothered to go see them or the Sakura tree in the middle of the lake since it would be rather difficult to carry a boat of any size from the bottom of the Gardens to the top. The beauty of the Gardens attract many to visit daily, but most people like to visit during the morning or afternoon. There are also two festivals held each year at the Gardens: Hanami, which is the Japanese traditional celebration of the blooming of the Sakura trees throughout Japan which happens during the spring time, and the Winter Festival where fireworks are set off at the top of the Gardens for all to see. It is located in the Southwest section of Embra.
The "Locke & K." Bookstore
A fairly fancy bookstore under the ownership of Evangeline and Diarmaid Locke Kunikida. It's actually their house after going through a little bit of creative renovation. It settles in a quiet neighborhood near the Sakura Gardens, and though it's not as accessible as other big bookstores, its reputation is well known enough for people to still come and visit. Though, they usually have to count on their luck since they don't have a set open and close schedule. So if the store happens to have the sign saying "we're opened!" when you arrive, you're probably in luck! From the outside, it's a very Victorian-styled house with a colour scheme mainly based off of dark blue, black and turquoise. (It's actually more because Evangeline is a nerd who just happens to like Victorian London more than anything.) There's a small garden surrounding the entrance where sometimes Evangeline plants a few herbs or flowers and is kept quite tidy all year round. The house itself is surrounded by evergreen trees on three sides, while the fourth side is where the entrance is located. The store sign is displayed on the same wooden pole as their mailbox and is right next to the entrance doorway that opens in the middle of a black medium height elaborate fence. (The entrance door is usually locked unless of course the bookstore sign indicates it's open.)
Not entirely that big, but home to a lot of old books that you may not be able to find elsewhere. The bookstore is not quite as large as one would imagine it to be, but an adequate size to fit in countless bookshelves full of either old or new books, the older ones full of the comforting aroma of old pages (if you like that smell that is). The house itself has a total of 3 floors (excluding the attic), but only the first and the second floor is accessible to the general public. Most of the shelves were towards the back second half of the bookstore while near the entrance there were smaller tables displaying some of the newer releases or older collector's items. On the right side of the entrance there is a mahogany-coloured sofa and a same styled armchair arranged around a tea table and a rectangular rug in front of a fireplace. Evangeline usually prefers putting in apple wood to fuel the fire since the smell of apple-wood when burned is really nice for a comfy place to read books in.
The second floor that can be reached through a black wood spiral staircase, it's mostly private however, and it is was where Evangeline and Diarmaid's offices are. Most people are not really permitted to go there unless otherwise told to. It was also where they kept the rarer books that Diarmaid and Evangeline picked out themselves, so you could say that the second floor was more like their personal space, relatively.
The last floor is the basement, and that's usually where the older and more dusty books are located Evangeline also keeps a few books that might or might not be related to vampires down in the basement just in case she or her brother needs to access it. Most of the other vampire-related materials are kept in the upper attic. But both places are rather dusty and are not that frequently visited since they have modern technology to use when they want to search up anything at all. Evangeline does visit these two places from time to time just to clean it up.
Wolves Den
Located in the Northeast section of Embra, the Wolves Den serves as one of the biggest vampire run businesses in Embra which has yet to be found by the VDA. It was created and established by Elizabeth Volkov and serves to help other vampires within the city thrive without having to resort to means that could otherwise land them a cell in the VDA. While the Wolves Pool does carter to many needs such as vehicle replacement, new identities, housing, and much more, it's main purpose is research. The team of agents within the Wolves Pool work tirelessly to counter any means that could potentially hurt or destroy Embra's vampire population.
The actual interior of the building is built off of European influence, having most of the rooms built to resemble that of palace rooms from France, Russia, and Italy, although the main research room takes on the influence of that of an artist's dream work space. The tables all vary in size but the room itself is large and open so that way agents can move around freely. There is also a triangular skylight at the top of the room to give natural lighting and air to prevent the room from getting tight and stuffy.
Swan's Fountain
Hidden in the southeast outskirts of Embra and more towards the city of Lazuin, the Swan's Fountain is a forever frozen palace, shrouded in the ever looming threat of unstable blood magic that too was somehow frozen with the confines of the palace. Formerly, the palace belonged to a noble family known as the Verinith family who were known among the Magic Born community as one of the first arcane families to find solace within Embra's bounds. What happened to the family is unknown, however most people, both human and otherwise, known to stay away. The palace, while beautifully crafted with statues of elegant swans surrounding it and furnished for wealth, is filled with underlings ready to strike anything that moves with the palaces halls. When Dalton and James entered the palace, they were met with such foes but then faced a great threat, or maybe an ally, that warned them to leave to avoid becoming entranced in palaces tricks. According to this armored figure, something lies beneath the palace, waiting to be awakened.

Grief's Chandelier- Hanging above a waterfall made of blood crystals, taking one of it's gems will bring you closer to the truth.
Kyv- The fabled woman of the blade, she use to reside in the Palace of Grief and carries the emblem of two blades curving out of the same hilt. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Her Crown- The crown of the Forgotten Princess. Wearing it will bring you closer to her heart and sorrow, a trial which no one has taken.
The Retainer of the Beast- A breastplate that holds the rage of a beast.
Grimoire of Wineith- An ancient book of power said to hold the secret to arcane blood spells.
Golden Blood- It is unclear what it is due to the many stories of it. Some say it's a spell, other's say it's a piece of armor.
Additional Lore
In reference to the first three generations vampires, for about three hundred years they were the only known/documented types of vampires in existence. Some have speculated that the fourth generation, the Shadow Stalkers, were found later because of their nature but some are unsure. For a long time these three generations stayed away from human civilization and worked hard to keep their society hidden and safe. Hence why the Vampiric Court exists. The Court keeps records on any vampire, both new and old, as best they can so that way humanity is kept in balance with them. The Court also has records on Magic Borne as well and has some people from that respected community within their ranks.
About ten years after the assassination of the Verinith family--which resulted in an ongoing debate on whether the VDA was involved or not--caused one of the most known attacks against the VDA to date. Many vampires knew to stay out of the VDA's business but something went south when the community tried to reason with them to decide whether they were to blame for the fate of the Verinith family. The VDA would not meet with the vampiric or magic community on any terms, but instead insisted they investigate them. With tensions rising, the vampiric community snapped once they discovered a VDA agent in the act of trying to make a Blood Seeker into a Heart Seeker by force to learn of their abilities and essentially break their will amongst other acts that crossed the line. In the vampiric community, both Blood and Heart Seekers are highly respected, so to learn that a human was attempting such an attack against one of their own, they had had enough.
A rouge group of vampires and Magic Borne attacked the VDA, stealing files and wiping any and all data they could find on them. They also were able to recover a few key artifacts of their culture that had been missing for years. It is assumed these items were returned to either their rightful owners or homes, but that too remains unknown.
It was speculated that the group that attacked had an alternative motive for attacking. That some information was leaked from the VDA that shouldn't have, and the rouge group saw this information as a threat. The VDA has many secrets held within it's walls, one of which is who the founder is. Even if you yourself were an agent of the VDA, you wouldn't know the answer because it was never given to you. It is not listed any where within the building. No plaque. No statue. No monument. Was this the information that was leaked? And if so, why would the vampiric society want to be forgotten, or better yet, held away until it's the right time to properly leak the information? Only time will tell.
