As if reading her mind, Tom contradicted her. "I'm not a vampire, by the way," he said. It was not really true, but it was a little more complicated then that. "I'm a witch," he said. Also not really true. He was caught between a vampire and a witch, it seemed. It was what some people called the Betrayed. And Tom was not willing to be caught by the VDA for them to try and figure out what he was. It wasn't the best idea to voice that he was a witch, either. As he'd been rather we know years and years ago. When this town was very different and the VDA wasn't so strong. But even though that had been years ago, his name might still be recognized. Ah, not vampires. Witch. Should have known. Lily glanced around the empty lot, making sure they were alone, before asking, "Why are you working here then? Prefer a quiet life to a magical one?" It was the only answer she could think of, and it still didn't make sense to her as someone who craved excitement and new challenges. Tom chuckled. "Yes, you could say that. I haven't been here in quite a few years and haven't cared to get back into the game." He shrugged, still smiling. "How about you? Where do you fit into all of this?" She wasn't a witch nor was she a VDA agent. She was human, but how did she know about the world of vampires and magic? It had been very rare in Tom's day for human no affiliated with one group or the other to know of his world.

featherleg((Ugh homework Q.Q Will you never end.... Anywhoo; where to now, story wise. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/6575102/images/iVhKxJ4UsBP0VgImbuAI.gif) )) Derrick nodded then looked away briefly, "I am not sure if that individual is still around. I only arrived to this camp this morning myself." He added then turned his attention back to Celestia. "While the possibility of disguise is in the matter, I'm certain that sooner of later we may find out as to whether the traitor lived, or died." He leaned back a bit once again, he was like a child who could not sit still at this point. "I look forward to working alongside you, and despite the events of recent; please do not hesitate for assistance. Whether it be our units, the princess, or the boy; I will do my upmost best to assist." "Understood. I can start looking into it though, magic wise. Oh I won't hesitate by any means. That boy is going to be hard to crack, but I'll figure it out. I'm just glad I'm in your company again." Noticing the ever growing darkness outside the windows of the cabin, she readjusted her cloak. "I should probably make myself at home, though I doubt I'll be able to get my house to stay in. Someone already took that one." Auransky

Lily paused, about to answer him, when the screams across the lot got her attention. Nariko. She should have known. "Well, that's my cue." she said to Tom, waving to Nariko to let her know she had heard her. "Tell you what- I'll tell you my short little story when I come back to pick this up. For now, I have a prior engagement. Sorry!" she said, faster than usual, and, before he could protest, she dashed over to her best friend. "Sorry, sorry! Got a great deal though!" she grinned, positive that Nariko could stay mad at her for long.
The car ride home was quiet. James was still focused on the key chain, Dalton on what Aika had said. "I'll come over after work hours. I'm sure Zeus wants to get out of the house for a while, go flirt it up somewhere."
"Where do you think I got it from?" Dalton grinned.
"Believe me, I know where you got it from- a lifetime of wanting to prove yourself in all places, including romance."
"Harsh wakeup call man. Next thing you know you're the next Dr. Phil."
"You seem to be feeling better." James noted from their usual banter. They hadn't been able to joke around with each other for a while.
Dalton shrugged. "It might not last long. You and Aika help, but, I don't know. I really don't know what's going on with me."
"I promise we'll figure it out."
"I hope you're right," Dalton mumbled as he got out of the car.

featherlegDerrick smiled gracefully, "As per usual I trust your skills." He nodded then let out a rather outspoken laugh, "A hard case? Mmm you might need to force him on the edge. Assuming this is war, the last thing we want is for that boy to loose it in the middle of a fight; eliminate a handful of our enemy then turn around and attack our own." He rested his chin on his hand at the thought. "Nothing screams death like raining blood. A sorrowful sight, but in due honestly something to be expected." He raised a questionable brow, "Who took your home? I'll head there and kick that no good young blind soul?" He rested his hands on his hips now to pose a challenge. "But if you'd also like you can-s-stay here for the night?" His statement as firm as it sounded ended in a question. He enjoyed her company that much, that he would mumble or sometimes speak before thinking. Oh be gods have mercy....

Nariko rolled her eyes as she handed her her helmet. "Tell me about it later at your house--which is where we're going if you remember. Trying to be polite here and not just knock on your door and have awkward chitchat with James, again." She waited for her to adjust her helmet and get on her bike before she took off. Much to her delight, no one was in the training room. She headed to the changing room, making sure to store her clothes in one of the lockers before grabbing a set of archery equipment. It took her a few years, but some how training with any type of weapon gave her solace. Rosestar

I have yet to lose a pupil in this war, and I attend to keep it that way as much as I can." Her brows raised in surprise before her hands clutched her stomach in laughter. "Pssshh, you did Derrick! But hey, I won't turn down an offer as generous as yours." Her eyes had a warm but mischievous glow to them as she untied her blue cloak and folded it neatly, placing it next to what she assumed was his pack. featherlegOver the roar of the engine, Lily informed her friend, "Don't worry, he's at work!" Riding on the bike was always exciting. It always made Lily want to get one of her own, before she would always remind herself the garage didn't have enough room for anything else with all her tools and machinery. Actually, it was high time she organized it, especially with the new car on the way. Immediately, her thoughts turned back to Tom. She was already itching to get back to the lot and talk to him, even if she wasn't sure if she could trust him yet.

"You sure?" She called over her shoulder as she weaved in and out of traffic. This situation had happened a lot were she thought James wasn't home, a low and behold, he actually he was. While James was like an older brother to her, he was also awkward in the sense that he worked with her mother. Nariko didn't like talking about her job as much as hearing stories from James, and most of the time he didn't say much because it was confidential. Rosestar

featherleg ((Oh np! Just curious as is.)) "I trust you well." He clapped lightly. "I will see to that the others do not stumble in by mistake or take wind of what is going on within the ranks." He added very shurely, but this top notch tone dropped after her revelation of who took her home. Derrick quickly stumbled in shock, "W-W-W-W-What?!" He stumbled on his words just like he stumbled from where he sat. "C-C-C-Cestia?! I-I I didn't know.." He blinked now looking around the room quickly before looking back at her. "I-I can leave if you prefer to be alone-I-I don't mind!" His tone rose then dropped as shocked as he was. He blinked now falling silent, unsure how to answer. "I-I-I think this might be a great time to say good night?" His statement returned to a question once more.

Weird things have been going on with his team lately, he hasn't been in the house all that much actually." While normally that would be confidential, Nariko had about the same amount of clearance Lily did. As long as Lily didn't share details- and she didn't know much- it was perfectly normal to talk about as far as anyone was concerned. Like a kid telling a friend how their parent had been out all week on a business trip.

She continued to laugh as she removed her boots, leaving her in similar clothing that Derrick was in: dark black pants and a light blue, long sleeves tunic. "Geez Derrick, we've known each for how long? You can stay or leave, I don't mind as long as your comfortable." She plopped down onto the bed, completely loving how frazzled he was. "I wouldn't want to kick you out though, seeing that you already have your things unpacked. Wouldn't be very kind of me as a host, now would it?" Her head titled to the side as she kept her eyes on his. Auransky

"Huh, so you're saying they actually have a case for once?" Nariko, much to her mothers dislike, wanted to join the VDA one day. Not in the area that her mother excelled in, of course, but to be an agent like James or Dalton were. "Man, now I hope your brother shows up! I've got questions for sure this time!" A huge grin spread across her mouth as they stopped at a red light. Rosestar

Derrick had shribbled up now as the situation had him lost like a child. He could handle solders, knights, and stubborn elites whom cared about their profit; but Celestia always just knew how to drive him into a corner without driving. "G-Gorgeous as ever my dear..." His face lighting up a shade of red. Seeing her plopping on the bed he gazed up trying to calm his racing heart, "A-Aye if you put it that way, then... then I will gladly stay by your side." He nodded. "B-Besides-at such a late hour the others may think something bad may be happening...s-so we can stay here together." He blinked as he spoke; his calm demeaner had crashed, and if the others caught him he would be left defenseless. He coughed now his gaze meeting hers, it was a lovely sight, a relaxing one too. "W-Well then, I guess... we shall head off to bed then. No use spending the night up when we have a difficult task awaiting." His voice had softened she was just lighting his face up some more. V-Vincent always teased this...I can't believe that scoundrel's teases have come true-

Next time he's home, I'll let you know so you can come and bother him all you want." Hopefully he wouldn't come home and just collapse in bed like the past few nights. Something certainly seemed to be wrong, but he was never around for Lily to ask. She felt guilty about it, but there was nothing she could do in the meantime. Maybe she should call him on his lunch break...

featherleg"Hey, you're not so bad yourself." She winked at him as she played with the end of her braid. "Good to know you've made a decision." She stretched her arms as she yawned. Not only was she extremely exhausted, but worn down as well. I'm for sure going to have some major bruising from those fire bolts I was pulling. "I was going to say the same thing. Well, good night darling. Sleep well." She curled up under the sheets, only taking up as much space as she needed while facing towards the wall. Auransky

(Not a problem ^^ ) Celestia's eyes fluttered open as the sun slow broke through the windows. Pulling herself up, she rubbed her eyes and saw huge blue and purple bruises lining a food her arms and feet. She sighed to herself as she dropped her arms onto her lap. "Why couldn't my magic be like Grandma's, she never got bruises this bad." She muttered under her breath as she glanced over to her side to see the mess that was Derricks hair. She smiled to herself before looking around the small but cozy cabin. "Strange that we end up here, huh?" Auransky

mintedstar/fur🦇 ((Aye-if I need to djust anything do let me know. ;p )) Rowlin had left the VDA office pretty early; as things were slow, and thanks to Yan he was able to complete the usual files at a quicker pace. Nonetheless he wasn't in the mood to head home one bit. He was more in the mood to distract himself with city life, Exploring is the best way to learn, right? His phone vibrated; so he reached for his messenger bag and checked the text. He smiled at the sight then quickly replied; then put the phone back into his messenger bag. Let's see what I encounter... He continued on his way.

His hair was a mess indeed, but nothing a quick brush couldn't fix. "Good morning, lovely." He softly stated. It under four minutes, Nariko pulled the motorcycle to a steady halt outside of Lilies house. "Well, we're here! With no tickets this time!" Tom had decided that what he really wanted to do was take a risk. Which meant he was feeling suicidal today. He was outside the VDA, watching people come and go. He was standing across the street, under the cover of a overhang. He was sitting at a table of a small café, not eating or drinking anything, which meant that he wasn't on speaking terms with any of the waiters. He hadn't been in town in ages and the feel of his old home made his bones ache. Nothing happened when you were overseas. Nothing exciting. And he needed excitement in his immortal life. So, here he was, once again. He'd been off the vampire 'hunters' radar so long that he had forgotten what the place looked like. Only now, as a new person exited the building then he consider leaving his hangout. Because, as the man had left he'd looked at his phone. And suddenly, when he looked up Tom found that he'd been looking at him to long. He quickly looked away. Hope he didn't notice me looking.Auransky

In response, Lily pulled her ring of keys out of her pocket. She spun it around on her finger for a moment, listening to the quiet jangle. "Right here." The two walked up to the house, and Lily let them in, locking the door behind them again. It was unlikely James would try to get in the house, and even if he did, he had his own keys. He'd be fine.

mintedstar/fur🦇 Rowlin felt a shiver go down his spine, That feeling of being watched- He hesitated but decided to shrug it off by quickly pulling out a piece of paper from a pocket on the side of the messenger bag. Probably just my imagination-this is a city...there are a lot of people out here. It would make sense to get that always watching feel, right? The paper had a list of different places to stop by and visit. He recalled the kind girl who had taken the time to help him out. I could stop for something across the street- everyone in the office mentions it's good. He stopped at the curb of the street then looked in both directions before crossing; while it was not something most VDA members would approve of, he could easily pass off as a high school delinquent; visiting the office for whatever reason. Making it across the street he glimpsed behind him to assure Yan wasn't for some reason watching him. She's shun me for sure... Seeing as Yan was nowhere to be seen he looked among the tables towards the outside of the cafe; coincidently seating himself across from where Tom was. Yet he didn't make any eye contact instead checking the paper at his list at hand. If I'm right...
