Thalia took a small bite out of the bread. It was delicious! Unlike anything she had every tested before. The cornbread was sweet, which was unlike the flavor of corn she was familiar to. As she chewed, though she didn't speak it was obvious she was grateful as she blushed. I wonder if humans bring all new people into their kingdoms like this she thought, that was a happy thought. --- "Okay" Said the waitress "And for you?" She turned to Lydia "Oh umm... Just some water and roast pork" Replied Lydia, with her budget of two silver in mind. Lydia turned to Kyra "So... what made you come talk to me?" Lydia asked, intrigued. --- Ace turned to look at the stranger who had wild green eyes like he had never seen. "Yeah, it's tough" He said, running his hand through his hair "I've been losing money every trip." He gestured to the hole in his jacket. "This was from a Luthengard arrow. Thing went rogue and chased me" He stood up "My name is Ace, Ace Masonford. Are you from one of the aristocratic families?" He looked the boy up and down, examining his expensive clothes.

Amaria quickly finished off the rest of her jam cornbread, relishing the yummy flavors. She looked around for the next stall they should visit when an array of cotton animals caught her eye. "How do you get them to stay so still? How were you able to dress some of them?" She asked, excitedly, hurting over to the stall of stuffed toys. -- Kyra thought for a moment before responding, "I'd never seen you around and you're dress caught my eye. Simple, but pretty." She replied as the waitress left to retrieve their orders. -- "That's too bad, hunters are a necessary part of the kingdom. I'm sorry it's not going well." Darian said with a slight frown. He'd known things weren't great for either kingdoms, but he didn't realize that job pay could be going down so much because of the war. At the question of his family he had to think quickly, "I'm from a middle-class family actually; I work as an apprentice scribe for an aristocrat family." He explained.

Thalia finished her bite of corn bread, and thanked the man at the stall once more. When she saw the animals she was amazed "What are those?" She asked, running after Amaria. -- Lydia blushed slightly "Thank you, and your dress is far more beautiful than mine." She couldn't find what to do with her hands, as felt so far out of place. The waitress came back with a glass of wine, a baguette, butter, and a simple glass of cleaned water. -- Ace pondered Darian's answer and decided it was not meant to be offensive "Thank you" He said in response "Are you busy tonight, or do you want to go for dinner, or maybe if you'd like, a tavern for some extra fun" He gave a toothy grin. Ace didn't really like to do things with strangers, but decided this boy was nice.

Thalia decided that she liked the toys "Do we have to pay for these?" She was hoping that she could get one, if they could only get one, she would let Amaria have it. --- "I wanted to come with you because i had nowhere else to go, and you're so very nice" She gave a nice smile "And your mother really does know how to get a good dress for you" she spoke very sweetly and carefully. The waitress came back with their plates. "There you go, and is there anything else i can get you two?" She asked, setting down the two porcelain plates with a lot of food.

"It's a date then!" he proclaimed "Meet me at dusk near the gates, i've never seen you before, and I know most people in this part of the city, so i assume you moved in from one of the other cities. I'll give you time till then." The tailor handed his jacket back and Ace set off into the city. He couldn't help but laugh I'm going to dinner with a rich kid! he felt extremely giddy.

Thalia chose a toy train and gestured to it "It's so brightly colored" she mumbled to herself. The paints in Roseheart were often times made from various berries or roots. --- "I'm Lydia" She said, taking a small bite of her pork, then eating a boiled salt potato "Wow this is amazing" She sighed "Where i come from food is not prepared so well" She lied quite expertly.

"It's very pretty either way" Said Thalia to Amaria. She then turned to the toymaker "You should be proud of yourself and your kingdom" She looked for the right words "Your craft is admirable" She gave a small smile. (Timeskip to nightfall?)

Thalia changed into a white cotton nightdress and laid her toy horse drawn carriage on the night stand. "Yeah, i liked it" She then tucked Amaria under the warm blankets and went around the room blowing the lights out. She then laid on the bed next to Amaria, staring up at the ceiling, wondering what the capital wanted from two young Dragonkin girls. --- "I'm not leaving you now!" He called after Darian, drawing his bow, and pulling the string taut. "You able to fight them?" He said, not yelling anymore, because he could easily catch up to Darian.

"Yeah," Darian said, turning a corner and pressing against a wall. He set down his bag and pulled out his cape and a sword, hoping Ace wouldn't come to the conclusion he was a knight. He picked back up the bag and put it over his shoulder, running back over to Ace to help him fight. He discarded the idea of lying and just straight out spoke. "You can still leave without having treason hang over your head. I'm from Imorela and I'm a knight. If you really want to help me then find a woman about in her late fifties. She's a Dragon's Child, but you have to leave now." He said in a slightly hushed voice so the knights wouldn't hear him. Luckily, earlier when he was looking for an inn, he'd decided to buy a carrier hawk and sent a letter to the Imorela kingdom through it. He doubted the letter would arrive until the next day, probably not till sughigh.

Heather kept the hood of her cloak up as she swiftly stalked down the road. Her reasoning was never asked, as she was quite the imposing 16 year-old, being 6'4. Her long straight red hair was hidden under the hooded cloak, except for the fringe that framed her face. Her black boots and manly clothing showed her tomboyish personality, but her long eyelashes revealed her feminine looks. She hated them, but she couldn't do anything about it.

A man in royal blue clothing stood at the edge of the Imorela gates, arm out as a hawk landed on his hand. "Commander Westron, no knights returned from the battle on the Eastern Jaybird Road. I sent a carrier falcon there at sunhigh, it won't be back until dawn, but the knights should have sent word." A female spoke. She was dressed as a scribe with a leather messenger bag laying against her hip. She seemed to only just notice the hawk perched on the man, Commander Westron. He opened the metal cylinder and pulled out a roll of paper and straightened it out. It was stained with drops of blood. "This should be from just before sunhigh." He said after determining the distance and speed a hawk could fly. The paper told of how vastly outnumbered the Imorela soldiers were at the battle and that things looked grim. It seemed a knight had been spotted sending a bird to Luthengard for reinforcements and the knight, Darian Reicher, spoke of nearing their own death. That's where it ended. "We need to send a fresh set of knights toward the Eastern Jaybird Road to take back that land. Linda, write a letter informing His Majesty of this news." He said, handing her the note.

Ace nocked three of his arrows and shot, one hit a guard in the chink of his armor right above his thigh. Then he took his quiver off his back, and handed his bow and quiver to Darian "Keep safe" He said just before running off. There were tears in his eye as ran, because he knew what would happen to Darian if he was caught. He ran through the dark town until he found a cheap tavern and inn. He checked the front desk to see if the woman was there. The man said the only women who had checked in had husbands, and were young. He went home and tried to sleep, but failed miserably. --- Mason was the head of the guard in Crimson Heart, and when he realized Thalia's disappearance he was outraged. Mason had two scimitars, had offensive fire magic, and had a certain air about him that made you know he meant business. --- Evan was an Imorela knight with Darian, and he knew Darian's bird, when it came flying into the capital he ran to the gates, and noticed Commander Westrun who held the note. He did not know what the note said, and decided to wait until the man would address Evan.

Ray hovered near the edge of the forest, peering out at a feminine who was seeming to hide her face under a hood, but he could see her face well. Well, with his enhanced senses, he could tell a lot about her. By the vibrations she made when she walked, it added to the fact that she was female and her soft, but slightly rapid breathing told him she was trying not to be caught, or maybe noticed. His eyes were a vibrant red and his hair was a deep crimson. He was a drifter among Dragonkin and didn't really reside in any village. He'd always been fascinated with humans, he'd watched them from the security of the forest to study their physiques at least. "Hello," Ray breathed. One of his magic abilities was that he could choose someone he could sense and his whispers they could hear as though he were talking normally. He'd never used it with humans before, but he just had to interact with one, so this was his chance.

"Yes sir" Replied Evan, running off to go find some strong soldiers. Evan had black curly hair and light coffee colored skin. He was half elf, which made upward mobility in the land of humans quite hard, but with enough hard work he was able to do it. --- Mason walked through the outskirts of the forest, pondering how the cousins were kidnapped, when he saw a figure in the night. He took one of his scimitars off of his back, the other stayed there. He knew how dangerous humans could be, so he just watched the tall woman. Mason had a large tail covered in spikes, as well as scales covering his bottom half. His legs were quite similar to a dragon's, and so were his feet which showed talons. He had dark raven hair that was always wild with the sides shaved down, and dark purple eyes. His skin was a dark brown, lightened because the sun only shone through the thick trees of the cursed forest in certain places.

Heather heard someone say something, and glanced around, her vibrant blue eyes alert and seemingly frightened. She didn't dare pull off her hood, but her eyes were bright enough to be seen through the shadow. She stayed alert, but continued on, glancing around every few moments, her leather gloved hands fidgeting.
