"The difference is that you're more likely to know more about what's going on if they're your brothers." Manus grinned down. When he lived in the city, he'd done whatever he could for a few gems, and though he was never too deep in anything, he learnt enough from certain gangs to understand the inner workings, "And it also means we now know you're a liar. C'mon, tell us what you've got, or my friend here is going to do to you what she just did to that building."
"Please don't get too cocky out there Isis," Dorian diverted her gaze to the path ahead, "That's just begging the universe to take you down a peg or two." She warned softly, suddenly becoming very aware of the hollow area on her face. It'd been years, and she'd learnt to live with it, and none of her guild members asked too many questions (most of them now didn't even know her any other way), but every now and again Dorian would be hit with the reality of her injuries. Just because she got used to one eye and half an ear doesn't mean she'd forgotten that it wasn't always this bad. Sometimes she wondered what her life would be like if that had never happened; would she have a girlfriend, or would she still find a way out of that? Would it affect the relationship she had with her fellow mages or would she always be elusive no matter what? Would she even be the Guild Master? She'd only upped her game with physical fighting and personal connections after she'd learnt a hard lesson after all. But she made sure to never dwell too long on fake lives. This was her real one, and it wasn't too bad.
Khione grinned, "Gotcha." Her voice tinged with mischievous, even though the other girl had managed to block most of the assault. She kept swirling her hands, not shaping anything into a ball, simply creating a flurry around her arms, enjoying the chill against her bare skin. Sometimes she would get itches to just use her magic for now reason, liked she needed a drink of water, or to stretch her legs. She'd been told that all young mages feel those itches from time to time as they grow into their magic, but no one ever told her when they stopped coming, so she just embraced them. The two girls were now leaving a light trail of flakes behind them, "What's it like having your spirit out all the time?" She asked, the red fur of the little fox catching her eye, "Don't you get tired? I'm kind of tired just from this." She shrugged, gesturing to the snow, but still didn't stop. The snow was fluffy and soft, not at all like the dangerous icy stuff that fell on top of the mountains all year round, and then had to be melted from the paths outside the Guild Hall in winter.

{Yayy~! I'm not entirely sure how to go about my starter, heh. Do you have any characters open that would maybe want to take up a job with Bash? btw I love your profile pic. The Office is hands down one of the best shows I've ever watched. c:}

you can use Avalon as well btw even if she'd not done ^^' I have Grizel and Farrel open, tho neither of them would be able to go on a job really. Grizel would be able to run into one of your characters easily enough! She could even be doing something that's not strictly ~ legal ~ for drama if you'd like c: thanks!! I like your's a swell, Brendon Urie is such a cutie)

{ahh thank you! c: either one of your characters is fine, but the ~ illegal ~ activity sounds interesting c: probably would be better to not run into Bash, though. cx He'd have his hands pretty tied as an S-Class, eh? *wink wink* }

sorry for vanishing! I'll post a starter now c: )
Grizel didn't do this kind of thing usually, but things had been tough since she'd lost her money in Magnolia. Sometimes, to put shoes on your feet and food in your belly, you had to do things that your parents wouldn't be proud of. That was life - nothing more and nothing less. Her pride stung from the actual task she was playing, just a mule to transport some illegal goods, but the pay was good for a relatively easy task. Walk to the little sea port, find The Pomegranate ship, give the paracel to the Captain, get the pay. She'd done harder for less. The only real issue was that the nature of the job meant that taking the flat roads by the River Radisson. Walking up the winding paths were hell on her fake leg, and just a bother in general, but so far she'd been blessed with good weather. Grizel was taking it easy now, she didn't want those magic stones breaking, and was making good time. If the rain stayed off, she might even travel a bit into the night. The real issue was that she was getting dangerously close to that Guild around here, and that last thing she needed right now was to deal with some Guild Mage harassing her.

{ugh throughout my reply I kept wanting to type his name as Bellamy instead of Bash since his face claim is an actor who plays Bellamy Blake on the CW show The 100 DX I'm a lost cause at this point
okay it's been awhile since I've seen the show so I may have questions as I go cx I was thinking that he could have been sent to take out that drug cartel and had just finished the job, leaving her excursion pretty much pointless, but then tries to convince her to join the guild and get her started with some money he earned for completing it?}
Bash currently led his way down to the guild, crossing through some shady territory. He had just finished an S-Class job that had taken him almost two weeks to solve. It probably would have only taken a few days if he allowed someone else to tag along on the job, but his ego wouldn't allow it. He wanted to do all his assignments alone to retain his tough image as one of the more powerful mages in the guild. In truth, the constant pressure to get all the jobs done in a timely manner didn't necessarily apply to him, as long as he got the job done. His long, black shirt and pants were slightly ripped from a few run-ins with the drug cartel he'd been sent to take out and he didn't smell too particularly good, but no matter. He was determined to get back to his spacious dorm room and wash up before giving himself a few days to relax and catch up with some of his friends in the guild.
He went to turn the last corner that would lead him off of the dirt trail and back into the city, but bumped into someone else instead. He grunted slightly as he attempted to grab the person in front of him so they wouldn't fall, but watched as whatever they had been carrying had all fallen to the ground. He freed one of his hands to go to pick it up, but the container broke open and some of the drugs fell out into plain sight. His eyes widened at the sight of so much illegal substances, but he still managed to rope it all into his arm and pull it into a nearby alleyway, along with the stranger. "Are you insane? What could possibly cause someone to need this much.. dope?" His frown lightened into a small chuckle as he realized what kind of drugs the person had been carrying. "Not that you'll get anywhere with this, even if you hadn't bumped into me. I took down their port just a few days ago. Sorry kid, there's nothing there for you down that way." He nodded his head back toward the direction he'd just come back from as he explained this to her, finding the situation somewhat humorous. "How'd you even get yourself involved with them? Nasty crew by the looks of it." His expression returned to that of a more serious frown, a look of deep concern washing over his face. He held a soft spot for people who were constantly finding themselves in trouble, though by the looks of it, this kid had just gotten themselves into this situation recently. If they had been doing it their whole lives, they would have known to take the route through the forest instead of the outskirts of town.

Isis glanced at the master, putting her arms behind her head. She noted how her master was acting with the last thing she'd said. Being the master, of course she was worried. At least there was nothing to be worried about when it came to her. "Don't worry master. I'm not a savage. I may love fighting, but I don't have a death wish. It's not like I'm going to jump into a dozen Vulcan without a plan." She smirked and gave a flirty wink to the older woman. "You can just think of more fun things involving me. Use your imagination." Isis didn't leave much to the imagination. That was just how she worked. She wanted to see how far she could get with the master. She enjoyed this, flirting with people endlessly. Well, it was endless. Either they ended it, or she got bored when they tried to get farther and she ended it. Many of the mages in her new guild had fallen victim, and apparently the warnings weren't enough. As she was able to do it over and over again. Not that she minded much. She was going to do this until she found her true love. It was fun.
Nova had gotten over the need to use her magic for no reason a long time ago. Not only had she been using her magic for years now, she'd also gotten yelled at by some of her spirits. Not that she blamed them. Normally they were summoned to assist her with something, not just be there. She did wonder if they even liked the human world though. Sure they had keys to be summoned with, but that didn't mean anything. Right? She should ask Vulpecula next time they were alone. She felt like it was something she should know. At the question from Khione, she shook her head. She'd practiced having Vulpecula out to the point she needed the bare minimum of magic to keep her summoned. She could be running on empty and still be able to keep her summoned. The same went for Vulpecula. She was probably the only spirit that could last a long time in the human world without losing power with all the time she'd spent there. Two years of training tended to do that. After all, without Vulpecula, she wouldn't have a voice. All of her conversations would be awkward and one sided like this one. Even worse in a group, where she couldn't even get her opinion out. Oh well. She had a voice. Even if it didn't always listen to what she wanted it to say.

Bash can try to convince her to join, but Grizel's a tough cookie!! this'll be interesting c:< i hate it when that happens scorch 3:< most of the time i don't even realise how long it took to type something up until it's gone)
This guy was damn lucky he'd bumped into her when she was in the middle of a day dream, because she did not take kindly to being touched by strangers. Wrenching her arm free from his grasp, she scolded at him and ignored the fact he'd just found what she'd been carrying, "Don't call me 'kid'." This guy had to be about the same age she was, right? Who the hell did he think he was? But she didn't bother asking that, because she could smell a Guild Mage a mile away. "And I've worked with worse." Was he serious when he said the gang had been shut down? If so, that was just great. She'd been walking for days. It could be a fakeout though. Wouldn't be the first time someone had tried to bluff her into giving up. She snatched back her package, pulling it close to her side. Her metal prosthetic made a slight scraping noise on the cobblestones underfoot as her position shifted a little, getting ready for trouble. The thing with Guild Mages was that she only ever seemed to run into two kinds; Newbies who got themselves beat up, or S-Class mages who usually only fought her for about a minute before she found some way to slip off. Grizel had an arrogant streak in her at times, but she wasn't stupid. She wasn't S-Class, and she couldn't beat someone who was.
"I don't want any trouble here." Because of this uncertainty about his power level, she decided to try something a little more neutral and drain the snarl form her voice, "I'm just the mule. This is just another job." Pulling her into an alleyway was a mistake, tight spaces were the best for Grizel's magic. Having said that, she couldn't use her smoke magic without getting her mask on, which was currently hanging useless around her neck, but she could use her phasing to disappear through the wall behind her if she had to. Might startle whoever was living in there, but she could be in and out in seconds. Se stood a better chance in a proper fight out in the open, plenty of room to swing around, but Guild Mages hardly ever used their fists. They were lazy like that. They also normally travelled in packs, however. Did this guy have friends about? She couldn't tell in this space, but if he did, there was definitely going to be a scene.
At least Isis could keep her mood up. The girl could be boisterous, but it was hard to stay deflated around her, "I'm imagining a world where you're mute," Dorian sighed, waving her free hand in a slow, wide circle, as if surveying a more peaceful land, "And I get proper sleep at night because I'm not worried you'll bankrupt my poor, poor Guild." In her other hand, she tapped away with her Crook. After her accident, she'd been weak for a long time, and the Crook had originally been about support. Learning to use it was a weapon changed it's meaning a bit, and Dorian had also found that it helped compensate for her lack of vision on one side. "I'm also imagining a world where I'm treated with the proper respect and awe that a Guild Master is due." She gave a maudlin sigh, "Mages just doing what I ask without questioning. People leaving me alone. Magic." The sounds of the Radisson got closer, the water wasn't flowing too fast due to the warmer weather of late, but that didn't make the river any less impressive. "In this world, civilians only ever come up to me to praise you 'Oh yes, lovely girl, that Isis. Watered my plants for me. Didn't threaten me at all. Offered to fix my fence. She's a real credit.' blah blah blah..." She let the act drop and her slight smile was heard in her voice, "Of course, this new world is terribly boring."
"That's pretty impressive you know. Even S-Class mages can't keep their magic up all the time." She nodded in thought, though she really wasn't much of an expert. "When you're older, you should try for the exam. It'll be pretty easy for you if you keep this up." She hadn't given much thought to the exam really, she was still getting the hang of her one magic now. Sure, you didn't need two magic types to pass the test, but it helped. And Snow Magic was fun, but not always the most offensive, hence the little dagger she carried. "Then you could do the big missions. You'll be stinking rich in no time!" Khione grinned, excited by the thought of even having a rich friend, "But I suppose then you'll be too cool to hang out with me." She joked, clutching a hand to her heart. Before she could continue with this speil, a little white farm appeared on the hill before them, an she pointed, "That's gotta be it! Look at all those blackberry bushes!"

Rowland shrugged their shoulders. "To each man his own." They quoted the philosophy with a smile. Wanting to change the subject, as there wasn't much more the mage could say without being redundant, they mentioned the elephant in the room. Or rather, the treasure chest. "The people of your last job seem like they were very grateful." They joked. "What on Earth could you use all that currency for?" (I know it's a bad reply but I replied haha sorry)

Isis raised an eyebrow. "Mute? I'm pretty sure Nova has that covered." She then smirked a bit. "Don't worry. I've been donating some of my rewards to the guild. I'm not completely heartless you know." She knew how destructive she was. She would do whatever she needed to keep herself in the guild though. This was her new home, even if it wasn't her favorite home. No point in getting kicked out this soon. As the guild master went on, she giggled softly. "I do respect you. Why do I think I'm flirting with you so much? It's how I show how much I appreciate you." As she kept going on and on, she put a pout on her face. She held it through the entire time Dorian was talking. Until she said the last thing. Then she smirked again. "Well I'd hate to live in your world. That me sounds terrible."
Nova rubbed the back of her head. She wasn't that good. She could only keep the one spirit in the human world, and it wasn't all her. Still, she wasn't even close to S-Class. She needed several years before she could even think about that. In fact, when Khione mentioned it, she raised her hands and shook her head to refuse. No way in heck she was even close. She sighed a bit, one of the only things she can do. Rich? Yeah right. She needed help on normal missions. Though she wouldn't mind doing a more combat oriented job. Not that she would ever drag Khione on one of those, the other girl wasn't as experienced with magic. She looked forward as the farm came into view. It was rather impressive.
Cyprus shrugged a bit. "Taking care of a monster destroying everything tends to get you a lot of appreciation." He finished putting his rifle back together and set it on the table once more. "What am I going to do with it? Save it. Use it for rent, food, ammo, anything I might need. I don't really feel the compulsion to blow my money on things I don't need. I don't go on shopping sprees, I won't have a midlife crisis, I only get what I need. That's how I do things." He put his feet up on the table and lent back in his chair.

Rowland was staring intently at the rifle, as though they were taking it apart with their eyes, studying each small piece, and putting it back together again. The mage had never shot, or even held a firearm. A childish fear of the weapon had refused to dislodge itself from their amygdala. Despite trusting their fellow S-Class mage, Rowland shuffled away slightly, though it was a subconscious move. "I suppose I will leave you alone now. I am sure you want to be alone and rest after your long trip." They declared with a little smile. Though they were rather lonely, and desired more human interaction, they didn't want to annoy their friend; they had perhaps already annoyed him. "I think I'll head down towards the town and get some new supplies. I need a new traveling cloak, this old rag barely keeps the chill out anymore." Rowland complained, holding up the limp, brown, tattered cloak around them.

Skillfully skirting around the mention of flirting, as she wouldn't know what to say to anything like that, she shook her head as if in mourning for a more peaceful world. Dorian ducked to avoid getting her hat knocked off by a low branch, though the tip of it was still batted and hung down the other side. They must certainly be getting close to the River now, if the trees were changing from dark pines to willows and birches. "She may sound terrible, but she gets so much done." Dorian carried on the joke, speaking fondly of this 'other' Isis, "Never gets distracted, or overzealous. Sometimes she doesn't even take the pay, out of the goodness of her own heart." Her grin was then visible over the top of her upturned collar when she twisted and lowered her head a little to get directly into Isis' line of vision, "The work in itself is reward enough. Such an incredible girl." It was hard to maintain eye contact for long when the colours in Isis' eyes were so distracting, and Dorian wasn't typically someone to make a lot of eye contact to begin with, so her speech sort of trailed off as her normally sharp mind was struggling to do two very simple task at the same time.
Putting a bit of skip into her step, Khione took off up the path, bouncing on the balls of her feet to get a better look over the top of the taller bushes. She was really wishing she hadn't worn all white, like she normally did. Even the side of the road was stained faintly purple from the mere existence of the berries, "What are the odds I stain everything I'm wearing?" She sighed, but her tone was light enough to suggest that she really didn't give tosh about the state of her clothes. As the farm grew closer, she pulled the straps of her bag tighter, suddenly a little nervous to go and speak to the farmer. But she had to, it's not like she could ask Nova to do it. The farm was nice, but very old, and the wooden door looked thick, too thick for her knocking to be heard, so she had to reach up on tiptoes for the old brass knocker and give it a rap. She bounced down to her normal height and pushed the skull on her face up a bit, so that whoever was there could see her face. There were heavy steps behind the door and then it swung open, to reveal an old woman who filled the door frame almost entirely. She didn't give off any cruel vibes, but there was something impressive about her, like she'd been a school teacher. Or a prison warden. "You two the mages I asked for?" She asked incredulously after a long pause, taking in the two young girls.

Cyprus crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at his fellow S-Class. He understood the fear of magical firearms. They were big, loud, and could do a lot of damage. Also most of them just looked mean. It was easier to be afraid on an item than a person. People got offended, or loved it, while an item like a weapon couldn't feel anything. It wouldn't try any harder to make someone afraid of it, though it wouldn't do the opposite either. Oh well. He enjoyed them. A nice focus for his magical power. "I don't mind the company, but I am tired from travel. I'll probably be heading home soon anyways." He reached into one of his pouches and pulled out some jewels. He tossed them to Rowland. "Here. I'll cover a new cloak for you. Consider it a bonus for not being able to come with me."
Isis had to reach up to push branches out of her face, though she mostly just ended up breaking them. She didn't want them to hit her in the face, or get tangled in her hair after all. How embarrassing would it be for that to happen? "This Isis sounds cold and hungry. Not taking money? Death wish. Can't pay rent or buy food. Or new clothes. Or you know, stuff to repair clothes." She didn't understand people ever refusing pay. This was a job, how people made money. One wasn't a guild mage on the side. You had to commit. Refusing pay was asking to get yourself killed. She looked down at the Guild Master, looking into her one eye. It was hard to look someone in the eye when they had only one. Felt awkward. "I'd hate to be that Isis. So you know, might as well get used to dealing with all this." She smirked a bit and waved a hand over her entire body.
Nova shrugged a bit at the question about stains. She didn't really worry that much. The guild had a good washer. Being young had an advantage. She didn't have to pay as much for rent, and she had a lot of access to things, since she basically lived at the guild. So she didn't really have a reason to worry. She didn't know about Khione though. She noticed that Khione was a bit nervous, and started to wake Vulpecula up. She might need a voice after all. After a short telepathic conversation with the spirit, to avoid outbursts, they were ready when the woman opened up the door. "Vulpe don't-" was all Nova could think before the spirit said something snarky. "You're being extremely picky for someone who asked mages to pick berries. Maybe if you wanted someone older or more experienced, you should have asked some regular people. This is a joke to most mages," said the spirit. Wow. Not even a chance to be civil. Sometimes she really wished she had her own voice. She sighed, waiting for the woman to blow up at Vulpecula. She was used to it at this point.

(YALL ive been watching fairy tail all day from the start and gosh golly)
Rowland caught the jewels gracefully, covering them in their pale hand. Their eyes growing at the thoughtful gift, they thought to decline, but decided against it. Their pride didn't make them against accepting money from their friends. Especially since Rowland was running low on money. They were already living in the guild hall, finding a bed where the mattress wasn't too thin, but the "free" food and drink at the hall was getting old. It wasn't necessarily free, as Rowland helped around the place, cleaning, cooking, and even doing small repairs where necessary. With a humble, toothy grin, they threw their arms around their friend's shoulders, letting go after a few seconds. "What a sweet gift; thank you."
(Would you want them to go on a job?? I kind of have an idea of Rowland finding out that in a fountain in an abandoned area away from town that's guarded by high level monsters has angel coins in them and wanting to go get them, alone or not)

Clearing her throat as inconspicuously as possible, Dorian's eye followed Isis' hand down her body but was quickly snapped back to staring at the path ahead. The dangling jewel hanging from her ear made a faint clicking sound with every step, and it fell into pace with the footsteps of the two women, "You're a lot to get used to." She admitted, "But you're not the most destructive guild member we've ever had." Dorian gave a shrug, "There was a rainbow fire mage, when I was younger, who always set fire to the job board, and we kept having to reapply for all the jobs. I think he's in jail now." She muttered, frowning. "Or the Water Witch - any time she was upset, she used to destroy the plumbing. Cost us a fortune. She gave up the magic game in the end, said it was 'stressful'. And, I suppose, I was a handful when I was younger. Couldn't control my magic. Buildings and streets used to just crumple around me." She rubbed the back of neck with one hand, embarrassed. "And I was a lot more confident, or foolhardy, back then, so it happened a lot more often." The path evened out entirely as they were brought down by the river, which was slowly flowing dark green water towards the ocean. It was cooler down here, with a nice breeze, though Dorina barely felt it, except on the sliver of her exposed face.
Khione liked the little fox, she did, but right now, she really would've liked it if Nova was the one doing the talking. She shot scared glances out of the side of her eye at her friend, her shoulders going stiff and arms clenched close to her side. The old lady took a second, and slwoly raised a bushy grey eyebrow, "Loud little thing, aren't ya?" She muttered. She looked annoyed, but didn't actually seem too angry, "Mages do better jobs than regular folk. Things get done faster. But I'll admit, I've never seen two tiny little witches like you two." She shifted her eyeline form the fox to the two girls. They sure were dressed like mages - bright colours and floating fabrics. The old woman was in practical clothes that looked as old as she was, and had dirt on her hands. "If you don't want the job, and you walked all the way out here to tell me you think it's a joke, I'd start walking back to your Hall. It'll be dark before you arrive if you don't." She told them curtly, gesturing to the path behind them. Khione, feeling scolded, chipped up before Vulpecula could speak again, "We want the job! We do! I'm sorry if it seemed like we didn't." She did her best to seem chastised and innocent, though was bubbling under that she was the one to be doing the apologies.

I would say yes if Cyprus literally hadn't just gotten home from a long mission. I would like it, but it wouldn't make sense in the world. He needs to rest before running off again.))
Cyprus shrugged. "It's no problem. Don't waste it." He pulled his Lacrima headphones up, followed by his hood. His eyes closed as well, signaling that he was now in rest mode. He wouldn't move unless someone touched him, or his rifle. Both of these were advisable against. He'd almost shot someone who touched his rifle while he'd been resting. Only Dorian had been able to stop him. Hard to convince someone who was trying to sleep that someone hadn't been trying to steal his most prized possession. Still, it had been managed. Even if he'd shot the guy, he would have lived. It was a magic bullet after all. If he was tough enough it would have knocked him unconscious. It was just his pistol.
Isis had noticed the pause, and caught a glimpse of the eye following her hand. It had only been for a second, but she'd spotted it. She couldn't help the smirk. So she really did have an effect on her poor master. Good to know. She raised an eyebrow as Dorian talked about the other mages. "Well I'm certainly not that destructive. I have control over my magic. Besides, I'd never go out of my way to make you deal with something like that. I'd never destroy the guild mindlessly like that. Only if someone provoked me." She put her arms behind her head again. "I'm surprised to hear you were foolhardy, master. That seems nothing like you. You even get mad at me for being just like that." She liked it down by the river. It was relaxing. Plus she'd never seen running water like this back home. It was rather pretty.
Nova had face palmed, very clearly not in agreement with the fox. "I'm so going to kill you if you make us lose this job. It's not much money, but we need it," she told the fox through the connection. Vulpecula rolled her eyes and didn't reply. Nova shook her head and lowered her hand from her face, only to start using sign language. She really hoped the woman understood. If not, she would just look a crazy person waving their hands around. She'd learned it from a young age, but almost no one knew it. So she rarely ever used it. She hadn't even bothered trying around people, just assuming no one knew it. 'I apologize for my spirit, she doesn't speak for us.'

You're such a good artist Dove! Speaking of Jolene, I do have Rika available. She's kind of a jerk - well a lot a jerk - but she is a available. She's also a Shadow Make mage, so that would go well with Shadow Dragon Slayer.))

You're welcome! I'll just repost my starter for her from page 3 or whatever. Easier for me. XD))
Rika sat under the shade of a tree, reading quietly from a book. She needed to go on a job, she could use some more rent just to be safe, but she felt like she needed to go with someone else. She could be a loner for only so long. She'd have to make friends at some point. She sighed softly, reaching up to rub her temples with one of her hands. She wasn't even that close with the people who'd brought her to the guild, and she was relatively new to it. So that meant she was basically an outsider still. At least in her mind. Talking to people was hard as well, especially when all she wanted to do was tell them what she wanted them to do. She knew that wouldn't work, which was why she was such a loner. She was a leader, not a follower. So finding other mages that would be her followers was difficult, even impossible most of the time. Being in a guild was hard...

(Lol okay!)
Jolene was standing in front of the job board, chewing her thumbnail as she stared intently at the board. Her rent was past due, but her landlord generously gave her a grace period, but only if she left for a job today. Her face was blank for a while as she liked, but suddenly lit up like a Christmas tree. Grabbing a flyer with a promising reward, she ran out the door with a stupid grin on her face. Running up towards Rika, she stopped suddenly, presenting the flyer in front of her. "Go on a job with me!" She pleaded, her accent thick. "It's perfect! I can't believe I didn't consider it before! We're both new, and we both practice shadow magic! It'll be perfect! Oh, c'mon!"

Rika had heard someone running in her direction, but didn't assume it was for her so she didn't look up. It was only until whoever it was had stopped right in front of her that she deigned to look up. She raised an eyebrow at who she saw. The other new girl, the Shadow Dragon Slayer. She pushed her glasses up, raising her head fully to look over the job form. She needed a job, a fellow Shadow magic user was a perfect partner in her opinion, and she wasn't the one who had to ask. However, she was used to giving orders. She wondered if the girl would follow them. Well, she supposed she would have to find out. If it didn't work out, she could endure until the end of the job. She wasn't completely unreasonable after all. She closed her book with a snap and stood up. "Very well, I will go with you." Her posh accent (English) was a stark contrast to the Dragon Slayers. "Are you going to be as destructive and wild as that other one? Isis or whatever her name is?" She did actually wonder if all Dragon Slayers were overly destructive and rambunctious. She didn't know if she'd survive an entire job with one like that.

Overjoyed that she had actually agreed, Jolene threw her fist up in the air with a cheer. It was an absolute shot in the dark, since the other new girl was more of a lone wolf. "Wha- No, I'm not destructive!" She argued with a pout. "Hey you got an accent to! Albeit a completely different one, but an accent! We sure do got a lot more in common than I originally thought." Jolene laughed with a toothy grin, running her hand through the top of her red hair. "Well, are you ready to go?! I'm all kinds of excited now that I've got someone to do a job with me!"

Rika sighed softly. She hated to admit it, but the other girl did have a point. They did have several things in common. They were new, used Shadow magic, and had accents. She was sure that was where the similarities ended though. She doubted the other girl had had the life she did. Judging from her happy demeanor itself, that was obvious. Plus there were some things that couldn't be replicated. Though the Guild Master had some similarities with her situation. "I'm ready to go I suppose." She always carried her go-bag with her in case she were to go on a mission suddenly. Changes of clothes, snacks, entertainment, and money. Plus a sleeping bag. She was ready to go, even if she wasn't comfortable with using everything she had. Specifically the sleeping bag. She'd never slept outside before. Not in the wilderness anyways. She'd slept in the garden back home, where it was very safe and there was a perfectly good house not far away. This was something completely different. She picked up her bag, putting her book inside of it, before slinging it over her shoulder. "Where are we headed? Are we taking the train?"

Jolene blinked a couple times in slight shock. "Oh, gee, I guess I don't really know." She replied, looking back at the flier, unsure where the city they were supposed to report to was located. She really was a long ways away from her stomping grounds! Showing the flier to Rika she asked hopefully, "You don't happen to know, do ya?" with a nervous laugh. Jolene was also ready to leave. A maroon backpack was slung over her shoulder, which was half open with a shirt poking out. A few buttons and patches were on her bag, advertising random slogans such as "Dirt Road Princess", "Southern Love Animal Shelter", and her personal favorite, a little banjo patch.
