She rarely left town but always dreaming of seeing a bunch of new places-a dream that could never come true for her. But his words also set her on edge, a shiver running down her spine that didn't come from cold

Rowland shrugged their shoulders. "To each man his own." They quoted the philosophy with a smile. Wanting to change the subject, as there wasn't much more the mage could say without being redundant, they mentioned the elephant in the room. Or rather, the treasure chest. "The people of your last job seem like they were very grateful." They joked. "What on Earth could you use all that currency for?"

"That was a hyperbole." Helios replied, shocked that she was gullible to believe that. It was kind of cute how naive that little interaction had been. "The job said the town had been having trouble with the weather, and their biggest suspicion was a creature that was using elemental magic." He finally explained the job, holding the little flyer in his worn hands. "They're pretty vague, though. Just advising us to start by visiting the priest."

Lilia shrugged. "Eh priest, huh?" She didn't seem fond of the idea. "Wonder why the local wizards couldn't take care of it." A creature would have been relatively simple to deal with. Although she figured she should knock on wood after thinking that, since with her luck they would be up against the kraken or something

Helios shrugged. "Considering the bus drive we are taking to get there, this town seems very suspicious. I don't think I'll be trusting anything from it." With a seemingly simple problem to solve needing the help of mages in a higher guild, the fire magic user had reasonable grounds for suspicion. "I just wish I brought us more provisions." He grumbled.

"Provisions?" Lila tipped her head in childish curiosity. "You mean you've been toting around something useful in that backpack of yours?" She tried to sound both teasing and curious at the same time. Didn't really work out too well, seeing as they were pretty contradictory things

Helios feigned offense. "Well, now I'm not sharing my snacks. Dont come to me when some suspicious bartender gives you a wooden plate full of green swamp slime and suspiciously human eyeballs for dinner, because I'll be eating my pre-wrapped, safely manufactured snacks."

She quickly cut it off, still extremely adamant on not getting to be on friendly terms with Helios. Once the job was over she would never have to put up with him again. But at the same time she wasn't sure if that upset her or relieved her

Lila's face instantly became totally deadpan and cold. "Why? What's it to you?" She asked darkly. That was one question people rarely asked her, and it complete surprised her coming from him. Not like she was going to answer it in any sort of detail. If he wanted to know bad enough she decided she would tell him a little. But she always believed her life was her own and no one else needed to know

Helios was taken back by the severity of her reply. "I'm sorry, I guess I'm just curious." His hands were up in surrender, and he was leaning away from her. "I didn't mean to offend you by asking." He was earnest in this, as he had no reason to be mean to her.

She knew deep down she shouldn't have been so harsh with him but at the same time she really didn't care. Lila was annoyed with how he could make her feel so many conflicting emotions at once. It drove her crazy

Feeling his stress start to mount up inside him, crushing his heart and constricting his lungs, Helios lit up a cigarette to calm down. He remained silent for the rest of the drive, obviously deep in thought. The bus lurched to a rough stop. Snow was falling heavily, despite the summer season, and made it difficult to navigate.
"This is as far as I go." The bus driver growled.
"You can't stop miles away from the town. We payed to stop inside." Helios argued, obviously upset at the prospect of having to trudge through the winter h*llscape.
"Follow the road." Was all the merciless bus driver remarked, opening the bus doors, allowing flurries to come inside.
Cursing, Helios stood up, drawing his cloak tighter around him as he led Lila down the steps onto the snow covered ground. The bus sped away without a moments notice. They were surrounded by white, a mile from the outskirts of the town.

Lila turned her head to the sky. "Snow." She smiled, enjoying the cold air all around her. Being an ice mage,she didn't mind the cold at all and rather enjoyed it. It had been a while since she last felt the cool touch at snow and was actually happy about the prospect of getting to walk in jt for a while

Helios was incredibly unhappy with the situation. Already shaking, he gathered his cloak even tighter around him, wishing he had brought something heavier. "At least you're happy." He commented morosely. Starting to trudge on in the thick snow, he lit a forensic in his cupped hands, keeping it close to him. "That bus driver had some real nerve not taking us all the way to the city."

I was promised it would only be 3, and then my sister was really sick bc she's 7 months pregnant so I had to drive over and help her x.x I'm ded from all the current events for today, but I'm trying to finish their forms up now so I can hopefully start tomorrow~ edit: omg it's so late and I'm not even close to getting them done. for now I just put up their face claims & such on the joining page and then I'll just have to post their descriptions after work.} |

Hello Queen of Disco! I noticed what you said on the joining page, and it might be best to change your Nova's name. Only because the other Nova is a female around the same age. It could get confusing later on during bigger plots. Sorry about that, it's just to keep things from getting confusing. Otherwise, Bash looks really good! Once Sappho gets back, she'll read over your forms and put them on the front.))
