After a particularly nasty lurch from the train, causing Helios to fly up an inch or two out of his seat and plop him down roughly. Groaning st the rude awakening, he rubbed the back of his neck, looking out the window. There was a little less than an hour left in the train ride.

Lila turned her head in Helios direction when she heard him land with a thump feeling both sorry and not sorry for him all at the same time. "What do you look like?" She suddenly asked. Not like she cared, but she preferred to know what her partner- she still cursed Odette for this whole situation- looked like just in case she needed to know

Helios looked shocked, looking at her with a raised eyebrow and a little smirk. "Where did that come from, Ice Queen?" He asked. The last thing he expected was for her to be curious about anything about him. The only reason she knew his name was because he said it before she could ask. "My skin is dark, my hair is about twice the length of yours and even darker, uhm, I've got /even darker/ eyes, if you can believe it." He chuckled.

Lila nodded, being about to visualize him in her head. "I only asked because I should know what my partner looks like. Nothing more nothing else." She replied coolly. "And my name is not Ice Queen, thank you, flame brains." Even though the insult was kinda lame, Lila was proud of it since that was all she could think of in the heat of the moment

Helios just about died laughing. Tears rolled freely down his cheeks, and he was clutching his abdomen as it burned from lack of hair. "That was-" he began between sobs, "the worst insult! I have ever received!" Beginning to compose himself, he wiped a tear from his eyes and said through a few more laughs, "And believe me, I've heard quite a few."

Hearing him laugh at her insult made Lila realize just how bad it was. A small chuckle escaped from her before she quickly swallowed it before it could become anything more. "Yea yea, shut it would you? God you're cackle is going to give me a headache." She shook her head and tried to keep the fact she was about to burst out laughing a secret.

(Yo who should I draw tonight)
Helios caught the little laugh she let out, and smiled wide. He knew she would warm up to him (are you tired of the ice and fire puns yet?). Though there was now a light hearted air between them, Helios had a burning curiosity to ask some questions about his mysterious partner. Though, he sensed she would close right back up if he tried to pry even just a little, so he tried to push down his questions. It was difficult, but he got it. "Have you been on many jobs?" He asked a safe, work related question.

Whoever you look at and are like I need to draw them or I might die))
"I've been on several. Mostly just little ones around town-" Lila forced herself to stop. She would not let herself open up to him or anyone else, but especially him. He didn't need to know more about her than what was necessary. That would make it easier for her to give him the cold shoulder and never speak to him again after this.
And I will never tire of the puns xD))

(Lmao me neither)
Helios was disappointed when she shut down again, but at least he won a little. "This is my second job out of the city. First without someone older than me." He nodded, standing up and putting his hands in his pockets. "I'll be back before the train stops." With that, he left the cart, seeking out the open smoking cart again to smoke a cigarette. Taking a while to smoke, thoughts whirled around in his brain, mostly about the anxiety of the job, the curiosity of his partner, and how much he hated train rides. God, he was bored. Returning to their seats as the horn sounded and the train fully stopped, Helios shrugged his bag into his shoulder, grabbing hers in his other hand. "Ready?"

Annoyance flashed across her face when he grabbed her. "As soon as we get off this train you are letting go of me unless you want to have a serious problem." She begrudgingly allowed him to hold her hand this time and tried not to flinch away when he touched her. One thing she hadn't gotten used to was being in close contact with other people and she didn't plan on starting to get used to it. The warmth of his palm was foreign on her cold skin. "Why are you so hot?" As soon as the words left her mouth she swore silently at herself and hoped he didn't take it for more than she meant

Taking a hit from her tone, Helios decided against making a joke. He didn't put the memory of her calling him hot in his mind, though. "I'm a fire mage; I'm not sure what you were expecting." As if she didn't have icy cold skin that he didn't enjoy touching either? He could feel all heat leaving his body from any patch of skin that met hers. Carefully navigating her through the crowded train, having to elbow a few rowdy teenagers who rudely tried to cut them off. "Watch your step again, two steps down." He informed, jumping over the steps and spinning to guide her down. Once her feet hit the final step, he reluctantly let go of her. Still holding both their luggage, he voiced his worry. "You know I'm still worried about losing you in the crowds."

"One can hope." She muttered to herself. Without waiting for him she began walking, even though she had no idea where she was going and the crowd of the somewhat bustling made it hard for her to navigate. It was like her hearing and sense of touch was being overstimulated by all the people around. She bowed her head, and tried to make herself as small as she could to slip past people and not get noticed. Not once did she wait to make sure Helios was still with her, frankly because she could care less. I don't need him, she thought, I can do this on my own

"Fuc- Lila, wait up!" Helios called, struggling against the current of people, as their two bags made him a bulky obstacle for the crowd. Stumbling to keep up, the fire mage lost sight of hid partner for a brief, horrifying minute, before seeing her again yards away. He jogged to reach her. "Don't do that again." He said angrily. "I don't pull crap like that on you."

"Do I look like I care?" Lila said without any sort of aggression, just mostly boredom. "I'm not some little snowflake that needs to be taken care of!" She stared in the direction of his face, hoping to unnerve him even a little

(going to bed!! I have freshmen orientation for the next 3 days so I won't be on much!!)
"I never said you were!" Helios cried in frustration. What could he have possibly done to deserve how horribly she treated him! It was really starting to get on his nerves, especially after they had a brief, flickering moment of kindness towards each other. "Look, our bus leaves in an hour and a half. I guess I'll leave you alone and meet you there. Son't be late, because I can't guarantee I'll be there once the bus leaves without you." With that, Helios handed Lila her bag, and promptly walked away, not looking back, and lighting up a cigarette with the small flame coming from his pointer finger.

"Helios-" Lila called, knowing she went one step too far this time. But she also knew he wasn't going to look back or come back. Not like that bothered her, she tried telling herself. "I'm sorry." She muttered even though she knew he couldn't hear her. "I really am. But I can't forgive fire mages. Any of them, ever."

yeah cx' I just love the juxtaposition between Isis and Dorian, it's cute !!)
It probably wasn't a good idea to let Isis sand down the domes anyway. She might break a hole right through them, and those domes were older than any of the mages still alive. She would not go down in history as the guild mage would needed to install terracotta roofs on top of the towers. Uncertain of how to act when being flirted with, Dorian was, not for the first time in her life, very found of the way most of her face was covered, with only the top of her left ear visible to indicate how red she'd gone, "You better not talk to your clients like that." The Master warned, falling into the role she recognized to make her feel safer. Truth be told, she only had very vague ideas as to watch Isis could be suggesting, she was never part of that kind of gossip, and she'd sure as hell never lived to see the reality, but the slight innuendo was all she needed to feel shy. Dorian indicated to the job board, "But if you want, I can help you pick something out. There must be something suitable for the great and power Dragon Slayer." She walked further into the lobby, closer to the board, though her legs had gone stiff. She'd been walking for a while, and to have just stopped abruptly, not to mention the things Isis said made her body go tense, meant her legs were aching, and she had a slight limp. Even those accursed meetings involved a lot of standing. The next time she had to go, she was starting a petition to allow chairs in the Grand Hall.
She hopped down off her stool, collecting her books and pencils into her satchel, "We can do a job if you'd like, not too hard though, I'm not really in the mood to die." She joked, flashing a toothy grin from under the visor of the skull, "And if it could take us past the school in town that'd be great, because I need to go and prove I did this work." She grumbled. The school was awful, and most of the teachers were a pain. It could be worse, the Guild Master could've made her actually go to school, and she was eternally grateful that she didn't, "You're so lucky you don't have to do any of this stuff. I can't wait until I pass these classes." The deal was that all she had to do was stay until she was 16, then she'd legally be allowed to chose to leave, but if she wanted to do that, she had a lot of catching up to do, which meant very little time for magic, and other fun stuff. "But... y'know.. we don't have to drop this off. We could go exploring, if you want, up the mountain!" She might get in trouble for not handing it in, but she had 'witnesses' to prove she'd done it; Farrel and Nova could vouch for her, well, Nova's little fox, because Nova wouldn' actually be able to say she'd seen it, but all the same, that was two witnesses.
Turning with a look of exasperation on his face, Manus whispered in angry disbelief, "What did I just say, Emilia?" He gestured to the destroyed building, "I'm not paying for that, I'm just not." Pushing his way through the crowd that was gathering, he picked over fallen rubble and found their guy, who was, of course, unconscious now. Manus almost felt sorry for him, but not sorry enough to be careful, as he wrapped him up in chains and started to drag him back along the street, side stepping civilians and saying things like, "Excuse me,", "Alright folks, break it up." and "Nothing to see here, nothing to see."

Emilias face turned bright red as hot embarrassment flashed through her. "I really have to learn control." She sighed. Her motto had always been give it your all or don't give any at all. In this sort of situation that didn't really apply. Her already empty wallet cried out in pain at the prospect of the very very large bill coming its way. But, at least they had the guy they were looking for

Agreed. XD))
Isis smirked more, victorious. She'd been doing this long enough to notice certain reactions to her flirting. She couldn't believe she'd actually put the Guild Master on the back foot with her flirting. Who knew she had that kind of sway? She was going to remember this and put a little more focus into her. Might as well see how far she could get. "Don't worry master, I save this treatment for my favorite people in the guild." She of course meant going farther. Those who didn't react, or told her off, she gave up rather quickly. She wondered how far the Guild Master would let her go. Would she be able to reach the touching stage? Probably not, but she wanted to find out. She started to follow Dorian towards the board, noting how stiff she seemed. "You know master, if you wanted, I could give you a massage. Might help you feel a little less stiff."
Nova nodded a bit, drinking the rest of her milk. She dropped some jewels on the bar for Farrell, smiling widely at him to show she appreciated the milk. She then hopped off her stool, stretching a bit. She couldn't do much, with Vulpecula on her shoulders. She looked at Khione and tilted her head a bit. She definitely thought fast and couldn't stop it from coming out, huh? She started to walk over towards the board. It was hard to show her reactions to Khione when she went through her thoughts so quickly. She didn't want to wake Vulpecula again, not just yet, to answer all these questions. Besides, the fox would say some snarky comment that could hurt Khione's feelings. She stepped up to the board, noticing that the master and Isis were approaching as well. She smiled widely at them as a greeting, then turned to study the board. She'd try to find something easy, but that paid well. After all, the two of them would be splitting it.

"Don't worry, we'll just bill it to the Guild." Manus whispered as he passed her, still dragging the man behind him, "It's an occupational hazard." They could worry about the ruined building later, hopefully it wasn't an orphanage or small animal sanctuary, for now, they'd managed to ensnare a suspect, who was currently being dragged into an alley for some privacy, "Could you shock him awake? We need to talk."
Isis was rewarded for her comments with a dry side glance, though Dorian found it a little hard to make the eye contact, "I'm not stiff, just tired. I beat you give terrible massages anyway. Probably break every bone in my poor, exhausted body." She shook her head ruefully, in mock sadness, as if constantly plagued by her boisterous guild members. In truth, the sheer concept of Isis keeping her anything more than a hearty handshake caused the Guild Master to start to feel pretty warn under the collar. It had been a long time since she'd received that much bodily contact, and frankly the concept of a massage was scared the crap out of Dorian at the moment. She barely took her cloak off in company, and her hat even rarer, and even the idea of making herself that vulnerable made her hand shake a little, forcing her to tighten her grip around her walking staff. The job board was pretty full, even the corner sectioned off for S-Class jobs was busy. There was one flier that said in bright red text at the bottom 'Our company is not liable for any maiming or possible death occurring on this job' - sounded less intimidating then a close-corner conversation with Isis. Turning her attention to the regular jobs, she gently took a blue piece of paper, "What about this? Babysitting, you'd be great at that. Children are surprisingly durable to extreme violence, like these fine young ladies." Her tone turned a little warmer in greeting to the two youngest members of the guild.
Talking with Nova could be like speaking in a long tunnel sometimes; only ever hearing your own voice. Khione was fairly empathetic, so it was easier for her to pick up on what some of her gestures meant, but the girl hopped from one thing to another so quickly, that she sometimes left other people behind. She waved in greeting to the master, but didn't strike up a conversation, for fear of it turning to her academic studies. There were a heap of jobs up on the board, most of them for manual labour, she noted. "Ohh, what about this one?" She grabbed a mint colour flier from it's thumbtack, "Blackberry picking!" It wasn't too strenuous, and the pay wasn't terrible, "All we have to do is get the fruit off the bushes!" Farrell noted some more people entering, Isis and the master, which picked up his mood a little. The Dragon Slayer wasn't afraid of a good time, and it was a relief to see their boss back in one piece. The last thing this guild needed was a shift in control. He raised his hand to wave a greeting and gestured to empty glasses at both the women, indicating if they wanted anything.

Helios spent an hour and a half strolling the smaller city, grabbing a hot drink from a local shop, and half heartedly browsing a magic shop he saw along the way. He felt bad about leaving a blind girl by herself in a foreign city, but she needed to learn a lesson. God, that sounded bad. "Shi*, I'm a bad person." Going back to where he saw Lila last, he started calling her name, looking for her blue hair in the sea of people.

Seeing that Cyprus had finally disengaged from his conversation with the guild master, Rowland didn't hesitate to scurry up from their seat and shoot over to their friend, jumping up slightly to envelop them in as big a hug as the small mage'a arms would let them. "You were gone so much longer than you said!" They scolded, squeezing him one last time before stepping back and crossing their arms over their chest. "I knew you shouldn't have taken a job like that alone." They were visibly pouting, their mouth drawn to one side and their eyebrows creased. Though they were showing a scolding and concerned look, it was evident Rowland was overjoyed Cyprus was back. It was starting to get lonely, as everyone else was a bit too 'much' for the shyer S-Class. It was nice to be around someone who was so cool and collected; it was calming.

Isis gasped, putting a hand on her chest, in mock offense. She wasn't. It was hard to do that. "Master! I can't believe you would say that! For your information, I'm very good at massages. My grandmother taught me, and she enjoys them. Besides, you're far too young to consider yourself frail. It would take a lot more than me to even bruise you, and you know it." She peaked around Dorian to look at the job offer. She stuck her tongue out a bit. "I'm not good with kids. Trust me. Besides, I'm itching for a fight. Dealing with a bunch of kids will only make it worse." She crossed her arms and looked over the board. "Where's a job that will give me a good fight? I also need someone to go with me. Otherwise I'll just get bored again. Or you know...I'll break something like I did last time I went on a solo mission." It was true that having someone there actually did give her a reason to hold back. The last time she'd gone on a solo mission, she'd destroyed half a town during a big fight. When there was someone else there, she tended to destroy a lot less. Isis noticed Farrell waving towards her, and gave a wave back that said she would either be there in a moment, or she would be gone.
Nova couldn't believe how many labor jobs there were. People really took advantage of mages didn't they? A lot of these jobs could be given to normal people. In fact, a lot of these were so normal, that magic would do nothing to make them faster. They could just be given to a regular passerby. It seemed like a waste to send these to guilds, who would look over these jobs most of the time. Why not give normal people a chance to earn some money instead of just sending it to a guild? It was so lazy. She was brought out of her musings by Khione speaking up. The job she'd picked was one of those normal jobs. Nothing about it said this needed to be done by a mage. However, Khione was one of the few people looking for those normal jobs. She could understand why. She just hoped her spirits didn't get mad at her for not summoning them for so long. Maybe one of them would help with this?

Cyprus didn't make a move to return Rowland's affections, he never did. It wasn't exactly something he shared. Sure, he cared about the other S-Class mage like a comrade, but they seemed to act like there was something more. "The monster refused to go down." He moved to a table, bringing the suitcase of money to a stop next to it. He then pulled his large rifle off his back and set it on the table with a loud thud of metal against wood. "If someone had come with me, they would have slowed me down. I was constantly on the move, trying to stay ahead of that monster so I could get good shots on it." He started to sit, running a hand through his hair.

"Oh yes," There was so much sorrow in Dorian's tone, "How could I forget that little incident? This guild is going to be paying off your trouble long past your death, Isis. I hope you know this." Maybe she did need something specific; allowing her to let off steam without destroying a village. "Maybe I should put up an ad here for a babysitter for you; though I'd have to pay something extraordinary. Or I could commission a magic chain and tie you to a post outside, like a goat, with a bucket of sand for nourishment." Dorian was actually pretty rich. She'd done a lot of big jobs in her time, and rarely went out. Living at the Guild her whole life had prevented her from having to find somewhere to live, and she mainly scrounged free food off Farrell, on pain of firing if he made her pay. But it had been a long time since she'd been out on a mission herself, and all the S-Class jobs took place quite a distance away, too far for it to be logical for her to go. Plus, she had a real job now, and she couldn't risk getting hurt and leaving her home without a head. "Do you really need to go away on a mission? I could find you something to do here, where you'd have plenty of people keeping an eye on you." It was true that whilst there were a lot of jobs, they were fairly tame, "You could camp out at the Smugglers Pass for a few nights, see if there's any rogues that need beating up?"
"Want to go? It says here that we can get some free jam at the end of it if we're fast workers!" She was in it more for the gimmick then the money, because jam was nice, but FREE jam was the BUSINESS. Things always tasted better when they didn't have to be paid for. She bounced up and down a few times on her feet, getting all excited. Maybe it was because she'd been inside on such a nice day, or it was simply fun to spend time with someone her age (after all, most of the guild mages were adults, and a few of them rarely said two words to her). "I can keep us cool if it gets too warm out." She offered, sweetening the deal by rolling her hand on her wrist, watching a tiny flurry of snowflakes appear, "I'll even be careful not to kill the plants! That'd be a hard one to explain to the farmer." She murmured, frowning a little. Farrell watched the conversations between the ladies back and forth, and poured himself a cup of water. It was pretty early, but if one of them decided they wanted a drink, he wouldn't say no

(Aight I'm at the university so I'll be super patchy now I'm sorry. If you get bored just ditch me)
Rowland looks dissatisfied. "You wouldn't have been cumbered in the slightest; there are a lot of mages here that could keep your pace." They reminded lightly, remaining standing, as they had been sitting all day. They had almost forgotten how stand-offish their friend was. Sitting with their back straight, their ankles crossed and their hands neatly in their lap, Rowland informed their friend what they had done during his absence. "It's been a dull month without you and the guild master. Not much happened. I only took jobs in the city in case they needed me here."

Isis shrugged a bit. "That guys was from a Dark Guild, and he didn't want to get arrested. He was the one doing half the damage." The wasn't completely true. She'd done most of the damage, and he'd been the one on the run for the most part. He'd actually been a huge coward. She gasped again, another show of mock offense. "Goat? Master please. I'm more like a guardian Sphinx. Goats wish they were as beautiful and strong as me." She the leaned forward, giving another flirty smile to the master. "Aw, want to keep me within arms length? Just in case you need a little something?" She made sure that her chest would draw eyes, if they wandered. She then leaned back and put her arms behind her head. "Camping out and potentially getting a fight is just as bad. Besides, not all rogues are criminals you know. I was technically a rogue when you found me. I've never done anything to become a criminal."
Nova thought about it for a moment, then nodded. She would have to find a more exciting job another time. She really hoped Draco didn't get mad at her. The last thing she needed was the dragon spirit angry with her. Oh well, she'd live. Hopefully. She waved for Khione to lead the way. She began thinking about which spirit wouldn't mind helping them out a bit. Aries was nice, she probably wouldn't mind. Plus it would be fun to relax with her after the work was done. That wool was insanely soft and comfortable. Libra probably wouldn't be much help, even if she might agree. Virgo was the obvious choice. The Maiden was very nice about following orders. Even if they weren't really orders most of the time. Nova was careful about ordering her spirits around. She more asked them if they could help, and if they would do certain things. She wasn't really the order giving type.

Cyprus started to take his rifle apart, inspecting every part and cleaning what needed it. It was a long and detailed process, but he used it to distract himself and eat up time. "I have yet to see someone that could keep up. Besides, you're the only one I could have taken with me. No offense, but you would have been falling behind rather quickly." He didn't eat or sleep much on a hunt, he was constantly moving, and sometimes when he found a spot to fire from he didn't move for days. Other mages didn't know this, and assumed it would be easy. He doubted any of them had ever done what he did every time he went on a hunt. He wasn't insulting them, he was merely stating a fact. He wasn't going to take someone with him if they weren't going to be able to handle it. That would be cruel.
