(there are so many typos in my last post rIP ) Volt braced for battle but shot a quick glance down at the violet-haired girl as she spoke. The Tenno could hear a slight breathlessness in her voice --it seemed Neb was running on empty as well. This was going to be rough. Then Neb extended a hand, her eyes beginning to glow with her signature indigo energy. Volt realized it was now or never. Swiftly transferring both swords into her left hand, Volt reached out and grasped Neb's hand and wrist with her right, biomechanical meeting flesh. The Tenno had just enough time to nod sharply to show she was ready before suddenly they were somewhere else entirely. ( dawn ! )

»ƑαƖcση As soon as Volt grabbed her, Neb swung her head around to lock her gaze on the shoreline. And just as one of the creatures gave a giant, snarling leap towards them, the hero had squeezed Volt's hand and in barely a blink they were gone from the spot, leaving one beast splashing into the water.
She wasn't quite sure what had happened. Perhaps Neb had been too optimistic under pressure after all, but something felt weird regardless. Instead of teleporting onto solid ground or even in the water itself, the duo had appeared mid air directly in the center of the lake, almost like something had prevented them from crossing more distance.
There was a brief moment after the teleport's effects that let Neb hover in the air, still holding tight to Volt. She glanced down, a yell catching in her throat as suddenly an entire whirlpool was beneath them. That wasn't there before! She was sure of it. She would have seen the current even from where they'd been before. Panicking as their pause in the air came to an end and Neb felt air rush up around her as they fell, she glanced around wildly for another spot to teleport to. It was pretty useless, though, as even as she caught a glimpse of stretched out land, there was no more energy left for her to summon for another big jump like that. "Hold on!" she found her voice in time to shout, throwing her other arm out to latch a second hand onto Volt before crashing into the waves.

"Yes. The arrow did practically screamed trap," said The Doctor. "That's why I pushed it." She'd been intending to move, of course she had, but she still nodded her head in thanks to Annabelle. She picked herself up, which was a whole lot more complicated in a dress. She'd done it before, she seemed to remember. But had still never liked it. "Traps usually mean," pointed out the Time Lady. "That there is something no one wants found." She'd actually gotten a good view from the floor. But then again, she'd been looking for it. She pointed upwards. About a good two dozen feet above their heads, in the space where the block had been, something shiny glinted. She couldn't quite make it out, but she would have quite liked to know what it was.
(Sorry for going MIA. I was seeing a play.)

The first thing Volt saw coming out of the teleport was Neb's eyes, no longer glowing. The girl had used all her power up. The next thing she noted was that they were nowhere near the shore. Directly beneath them swirled a dark vortex, pulling in the water around it, filling the air with the sound of swirling death. For a moment, the duo hung suspended before gravity caught up with their antics and pulled them down into the depths. Worst of all, there was nothing she could do to stop it. Volt felt Neb grab hold tighter before she could push away. Not that it would make a difference, they would still be too close for Volt to keep Neb from being caught in the reaction. Making a last second call, the Tenno let go of her swords and pointed her free hand straight up, releasing her last bit of power in a bolt towards the sky. The lights on her armor went completely dark as their bodies collided with the vortex of water and they were dragged down towards the bottom of the lake. Or they would have been, had this place existed on a normal plain of reality. After falling for entirely too long through the dark water, Volt felt her shoulders collide with a solid surface before it suddenly gave way. Lake water, mud, stones, and the two blinkers fell into open air. Volts vision became a riot of colors milliseconds before she crashed full-speed into a cobblestone floor and the rest of the lake dumped down on top of her body.

Neb didn't have the time to realize the severity of clinging onto Volt before she heard the Tenno release the last of her electricity. She screwed her eyes shut as water flooded her and her senses became dizzy with the motion of the strong current sucking them down. She was desperately trying to think of a way out of this. She couldn't transform, she couldn't teleport, and there was no way to recover any ounce of strength to even try anything else. Now it was only to hope the House would have mercy.
And just as Neb thought her lungs would burst from holding her breath, suddenly she was rushing down the waterfall of the lake, her grip slipping from Volt as she crashed into the room of the castle. She hit the floor rather hard that forced the rest of the air from her body, and Neb gasped and heaved with coughs as she spluttered the water that seemed even more to be trying to drown her as it finished draining into the room. She let it carry her for a bit, not bothering to fight as her entire form screamed at any attempt to move. She managed to flip over onto her back to tilt her face up, desperate for air.
It was then she noticed her clothes felt very different. Spandex was one thing when wet, but this was very clearly soaked fabric clinging to her skin and she could feel lace itching against her arms. For anyone who knew her, it was quite a different sight to see Neb in a dress as opposed to her hero's costume. What even was this place now? The room hadn't come into full focus yet. Neb's eyes felt extremely tired, her irises only emitted a dim glow, and her body felt very heavy and drained. She really needed a break.

Okay, The Doctor hadn't expected the whole of the roof to suddenly be engulfed in water and then come tumbling down on them. Proved that life was still full of surprises, she guessed. Or she would have guessed if she wasn't busy swimming for the surface as the water moved through the room and started to flood out the narrow doorways around the room. But she wasn't wasting this opportunity. She broke the swiftly shallowing surface and reached up, finding the tips of her fingers just scraping the thing in the alcove on the ceiling before the water receded away and started to pull her back down and toward a doorward. The dress was also dragging her down. Her fingers closed around the thing and then her complete focus became not following the water. She used her free hand to grab a very soggy tapestry and then find her footing as the water flowed away into other, lower parts of the castle from where they were now. She was drenched, blond hair hanging in strands around her ears. She spat water a couple of time - lake water? - and then looked around. "E-everyone okay?" she asked.

As the water subsided, Volt rolled over onto all fours to try and get to her feet, slipping a little in exhaustion and as her metal plating struggled to find purchase on the water-slick stones. She had to get up, had to- had to- had to just breathe. She felt heavy, weighed down. The nodes on her armor were dark, dead. Pausing her attempt to stand, the Tenno's shoulders dropped as she released the tension from her body and tried to clear her mind. She was of no use to anyone while she was panicking. After few seconds, Volt raised her head to examine her surroundings. She and Neb had fallen into a building of some sort, made almost entirely of stone. It was decorated not unlike the space relays she was accustomed to, with hanging banners and other regalia but made out of materials she didn't quite recognize. Everything not bolted to the floor had been pushed to the corners of the room, including three figures who were now drenched in lake water. Neb lay nearby but her chest moved, not dead, just exhausted. She wasn't wearing what Volt had seen only moments ago, the girls sharp uniform replaced by a form-fitting robe now sopping wet.
Something seemed to click, and Volt finished getting to her feet to examine her own form. She was wrapped in gray fabric, toga-style, that was tied with a golden cord around her waist. No wonder she felt so heavy, the robe was full of water. Underneath, her armor was now also edged in matching gold bands matching the cord. Somehow she had been gilded. Voices drew her attention up again to the two unknowns in the room. One was unfamiliar, a humanoid figure clad in heavy armor with a male voice. The other..... "Doctor?" Volt's tone was incredulous, not believing what she was seeing.

"Oh, hello Volt," said The Doctor, her scanning eyes finding the Tenno. Then they landed on Neb, who seemed to be flopped on the floor and exhausted. Both Volt and Neb seemed drained. Pushing herself away from the wall, casting glances along the floor to try and figure out where the small stone she'd grabbed had gone, and finding only murky weeds, small pools of water, and discarded fish. Whoops. She picked her way over to Enjolras and reached out a hand. "Need a hand up?" It was probably really hard to get back to your feet with that armor. She glanced at Volt while she did, asking, "Were ya both in another room?" It seemed more logical than anything else. It was the only place she could see the water coming from. The lights she remembered seeing along the Tenno were dark now. An indication of her health, perhaps? Both Neb and Volt had also had the addition of garments for the time. The Doctor's dress was soaked and heavy. "If anyone sees a small, rather gaudy rock, please let me know. I just went to a lotta pain to get it." She shook her head a bit. A bit more trouble than she'd bargained for.

Once the water had cleared, Neb began to hear voices - familiar ones, surprisingly. Taking in a deep breath and straining against her muscles, she forced her elbows down to push herself upright, thankful for the wall close enough to use as a brace. Her eyes first searched for Volt, wanting to make sure the other had made it out okay. Even in her exhausted state, Neb's features still raised an eyebrow at the sight of her new look. That's when she really took notice of her own clothes as well, and Neb attempted to peel some of the dress away that clung to her legs. This wasn't exactly the most delightful thing to see herself garbed in.
The voice began speaking again, and Neb lolled her head to find it belonged to the Doctor. And was that-- "...Enj?" It was barely above a whisper, and she tried to clear her throat to get her voice back. "Yeah," she then managed to answer the Doctor's question. "The forest." It was easier to speak with short words. Neb pressed a hand to her head, nose crinkling at her sopping hair that was now loose and hanging down her shoulders. Glancing back up, she took in the sight and fact that it was everyone who had clothes seeming to match their surroundings. That was nice.

"Thanks." Enjolras took the proffered hand after a moment of consideration, pulling himself up. The armor was heavy, and the soaked cloth padding and tunic underneath only made it heavier. As he moved the chainmail jingled, dripping lake water. He ran a hand through his curls before squeezing water out of the ends. He looked over as his name was croaked out, seeing a rather familiar blinker in a soaking wet gown. "Neb- are you alright?"
He went over to her, to offer a hand up if she felt ready to stand. He paused, however, a look of growing concern on his face as Neb explained that they'd been in a forest. Taking in her exhausted, bedraggled appearance, he thought that she might mean the plot forest (of course, he didn't think of it in those terms in order not to break the fourth wall, but it's a convenient way to refer to it).
"The forest?" he repeated, looking between her and Volt. "A forest where you don't blink out, but freeze instead?" He had thought that that was done. They'd done it- they'd worked with the clones to build a door- they'd survived the House's games.. and now- it had brought it back?

Neb looked at Enjolras' hand as he walked up to her, not sure yet about taking it. Her legs still didn't feel steady even from sitting, but she also didn't want to stay on the floor and appear as bad as she actually felt. Pressing her fangs to her lip, Neb reached out and took hold of Enjolras to heave herself to her feet, though it wasn't hard to tell she was struggling. "Just...just give me a minute," she breathed out. "I'm just kind of...kind of drained. Used a lot of powers.." If there was ever a time to blink out it was now, as nice as it was to see Enjolras, she just needed a good long rest.
She blinked in confusion as Enjolras probed with questions that didn't made sense, and she gave a slow shake of her head. "I mean I never got a chance to blink out, but no there was no...freezing?" She didn't understand the term in whatever context he was speaking about. "It was a forest with these wolf creatures...and a lake." Neb indicated to the left over water.

"A... a rock?" Volt shook her head, not understanding. The floor was covered in them now and she was a little too tired to look for one that was shinier than the others. "We were where you and I met," she continued, answering The Doctor's first question. "With the trees and the wolves." The Tenno looked over as Neb sat up, glad to see her unharmed albeit a little roughed up. She seemed to recognize the man and, if his words were any indication, they had a history together. And somehow, with a few words, the he established himself as a long time visitor by using lingo that Volt assumed would eventually make sense as she got context. For now though she remained silent, offering 'Enj' a half-hearted shrug in response to his question. As the others talked, she tried her best to wring out the new garment she found herself in. It looked ancient, or like some kind of ceremonial garb, or both. But questions about the clothes would have to wait. "What is this place?" She directed her question to the Doctor. "How did you get in here?"

"Ah," said The Doctor, understanding what room was being talked about now. "No, no," she assured Enjolras. "Just a couple hours. And I blinked out just fine, apparently." She glanced at Volt. She was well aware that the Tenno didn't see why her idea might be important. And truthfully, The Doctor wasn't yet motivated to explain. It could wait a couple more minutes. "It's a castle," responded The Doctor to Volt's question. "And apparently ya can get to these rooms by most often appearing in a living room - so that's like the main base for this place. And then ya just go through doorways to get here." She waved her arms around at the stonework and the dripping cloth on the walls. "This place is probably supposed to mimic somethin' from Earth. Though I could be wrong. I could be Tara. Never know see, because it's hard to tell." She eyed the tapestries, as if they might give her a clue. "Proooooobably not," she finally added. "So medieval Europe. They're kinda fortified home to keep out neighbors with pointy swords. Horrible heating system. Never seen one?"

Arlo nodded, putting the paper plane back into her notebook where it had been for the last decade. She glanced away as she considered his question. "The plane went down and we managed to get out but the water was... really rough, like nothing I've ever seen before, and it was full of rocks so..." She wasn't sure how long she'd been in the water but with the way it had dragged her down and slammed her against the rocks, broke bones and forced the air from her lungs, tore at her hands as she attepmted to pull herself to safety... it had felt like an eternity. "It's... a bit of a blur," she said as she forced her mind back to the present. When he asked about her friend she nodded again. "Yeah, I don't know how he survived as long as he did- too stubborn to die I guess- but I was able to heal him enough that he'll be fine. As for me, well... it's going to take a little while to finish healing. I've reversed more deaths today and yesterday than I thought was possible including my own so I didn't have enough energy to heal completely..." Arlo trailed off and sighed. She knew that wasn't what he'd meant, or at least not entirely. "I'm... still trying to wrap my mind around what just happened," she admitted.
A bit of a blur that Kid already knew pretty well. In the four years, or probably more accurately three years, he'd been immortal, he had died twice more other than the original, supposedly permanent death. He tried not to dwell on it either. He was trying to remember back a year and a half now to the time he had seen Arlo before. As she mentioned healing deaths, he blinked in surprise. "Yes. I ... remember you said last time - only earlier today your time - that you'd been healing a lot of people in the House." He thought he remembered that at least. She'd been tired enough for it. He nodded his head as she finished the admittance. "I get it." And he did. Of course he did. He'd been through the same experience, only by the time he'd blinked back into the House he had had time to process and think about it. Arlo hadn't. "Change of subject?" he offered. "As far as I know, nothing much has happened here since the paper plane and forest room incident. I just blinked in again today. But I don't think we talked very much back when you were -" his hand rose to about his chest height, indicating Mini Arlo's height "- Too busy trying to figure out what mind game the House was playing by blinking you in. Have you heard much about what's been happening in Adult you has been coming in? A year passed for me." He gave a wain smile. "And apparently only an hour or two for you."

Saying Sandalphon was a coffee enthusiast spot on, but Elliot's guess on why he'd felt a moment of sadness wasn't quite as much so. The cup he held was extremely special, as it was one of unique pair that Lucifer and he had always used together during their times in the Garden. That set of drinking utensils was one of the only things from those moments, and from Lucifer, he had left, besides the memories and his wings, of course.
The Primal was surprised when Elliot suddenly stepped forward and repeated the former Supreme Primarch's name like he recognized it from somewhere. "Lucifer the Archangel." Sandalphon corrected the other blinker. His response came out more sharply then he'd originally intended, causing him to clench his jaw and silently chastise himself. The former Supreme Primarch was not just a mere angel, and hearing him addressed such was utter nonsense in his eyes, although he also was aware that Elliot obviously hadn't known any better or meant anything by it. Looking away to try and hide the red creeping into the color of his face, "B-but yes, that's correct on both accounts. I am an archangel as well."
Sandalphon couldn't resist a small laugh at Elliot's words of good will, although he appreciated it. "Thank you." He decided not to bring up that so far, since the war at Pandemonium, part of what he did was serve up coffee brews to the rest of the crew. Not exactly the most arduous of 'endeavors'.
The pair reached the door and the Primarch reached over to put his hand on the doorknob. "Got it." Faced with the unknown, he prepared himself for action. A gust of air heralded the appearance of two large, purple crystalline blades that floated into place at his sides. There were two more of those where that came from, but these should have been enough for the time being.
He turned the nob and pushed the door open, stepping into the hall with his weapons trailing after. Expectation after expectation was defied in this place, and it was done once again now. The area stretched on into infinity on both sides, with endless doors lining each wall. "This...?" That was all Sandalphon could say as he stood there dumbfounded.

Sky blinked back into the Paradox House, once again oblivious. One minute, she was running late to her next class, and the next, she had run into the stone wall. "Ow!" She gasped, before stepping back and examining the wall. She rubbed her head. "Ugh... Could've sworn there wasn't a wall there a second ago... That's Hogwarts for you..." Sky paused, looking at the wall closely. It seemed as though she'd seen it before... From that dream! She realized. In the Paradox House! It must've been a dream- one second she was there, and the next, she was back in her dorm, with her friends groaning at her to turn off her wand's light. But how was she having the same dream? As a test, she pinched herself, only to wince. Nope. This was real life. In one of the sconces, she could see her reflection clearly- the same cyan dress, with its long sleeves clinging to her arms. But there was a detail she hadn't noticed before: her hair was fully out of her face. Her blind left eye was exposed. I wonder if they noticed. She thought, before looking down. There, she noticed the newly wet floor. A stab of fear shot through her- what had happened while she was gone? Was Annabelle okay? She made her way into the second room, her eyes wide. "Hello? What happened?"

A tall woman appeared in the medieval castle room. Upon witnessing her surroundings abruptly change, she tensed up and stopped running. Not only did the environment change, but her clothing was also different. Instead of her hero suit, she now wore a burgundy-and-white dress. Had a villain kidnapped her? The change had happened so quickly. She couldn't remember being knocked out or attacked. Possibly it was psionic. She stood still for a minute, waiting for the illusion to fade, but it didn't. Taking a couple steps forward, she turned to address the others in the room, "Where am I? I suddenly appeared in this place and want to know how I got here." She readied her powers in case they were hostile.

So the House has decided to drop The Doctor in another room. Several, it sounded like, as she now spoke with a confidence that was starting to mimic Neb’s. Volt looked around the room again, as double checking to make sure it wasn’t familiar. “No, not like this.,” She replied finally. “This looks almost prehistoric. If anything like this ever existed on Earth, it would have to have been built back when humans only lived a couple centuries.” She shook out her robe one last time, not dry but at least not dripping anymore. “That doesn’t explain the outfits though. Did we black out?” Volt didn’t think she had lost consciousness, but there wasn’t any other reasonable way to explain how she and Neb had suddenly changed attire. Gilding Tenno armor was not an easy process, and there was no way getting Neb’s uniform off had been quick either.
There was a thump from a nearby doorway, bringing Volt’s attention towards that side of the room. A confused voice said something the Tenno didn’t quite catch just before another, seemingly human, girl stepped into view. Volt shot a glance at The Doctor to see if the Gallifreyian had an answer for the girl. Then suddenly another woman materialized out of thin air, standing between the group of four and the girl in the entryway. Seeing the woman's hands begin to glow, the Tenno moved as if to reach for her swords in preparation, only to realize she had lost them in the fall from the lake. With no energy to power her abilities, Volt brought her arms up to a guard position, ready to fend off an attack.

mintedstar/fur )) Castiel glanced over his shoulder again, noting that the large clump of people seemed to have moved into the hall now. His blue eyes narrowed slightly in their direction, then he looked back at Myrnin, considering the child. “I was told the rooms were dangerous and shouldn’t be gone in alone.” He informed him, tone giving no hint of what he thought about it. “But if you wish to follow them, I will come with you. I’m very powerful, I should be able to handle anything that happens.” And with that the angel stood up, then offered the boy a hand. “Then neither of us will be alone in this place. We may even find the way out.”

[[ Castle Room || Luna || idk who all's there ]] A large dragonlike creature appeared, hanging from a very large tapestry. It was solid white and covered fur with a long fluffy tail, pointed ears, small horns and spikes on its head, and protruding fangs. It had no wings. The dragon seemed to be sleeping and showed no sign of noticing the change in it's surroundings. As it breathed, frost formed on the ceiling above it's face. (sketch in spoiler)

Willow continued to wait for a response. She internally noted how Volt seemed to prepare for a fight, but she still didn't attack. She wanted to give the group a chance to explain what side they were on. Just then, she heard a noise from above. Tilting her head up, she noticed a large dragonlike creature on the ceiling. Parts of the stone around it appeared to be coated in frost. Mentally noting the possible threat, she turned her gaze back towards Volt and the other blinkers.

Enjolras took in what the trio was saying, his gaze going from Volt to the Doctor before nodding once. Alright, so the plot forest hadn't returned. It must have just been a particularly unpleasant room- but at least it had been a standard one.
Enjolras listened to the Doctor explain the room and nodded once in assent- he'd only been here for minutes before being drenched but the Doctor's description seemed to be on-target for the House. His agreeing nod cut off in confusion as Volt talked about that castle- only a couple centuries- wait, what? And castles were old, but they certainly weren't prehistoric. Honestly, for Enjolras, they were basically recent history. "Humans don't- you must be from some other Earth."
As two more blinkers appeared Enjolras did a mental headcount- Annabelle, the doctor person, the armor clad blinker who'd come in with Neb, Neb herself, and two others. That left a fair amount of people he didn't know. Perhaps the House was drawing more in. It looks like he'd be doing the speech after all. "This is the Paradox House- it's blinked you in beyond your control." He started off as the two new blinkers adjusted to the room.

(just gonna go and blink neb out for now dx) "Sometimes rooms will just completely change your clothes for you," Neb chimed in at Volt's confusion. "Or even your entire species." Couldn't forget those types of rooms.
And just as the hero was beginning to feel a little energy return, there seemed to be a sudden influx of other blinkers, and Neb's eyes darted to each as she tried to keep up with the resounding questions. Before she could even begin to focus on just one, she blinked out of the room.

"Really?" said The Doctor as she looked at Neb in astonishment. Clothing she had taken in stride - she'd seen people blink in with it, so she assumed it was the House. But species? That was actually slightly worrying - and interesting - but she set the thought aside as once again it looked like people were getting nervous and on high alert. Just in case, she stepped between Willow and Volt, but let Enjolras do the brief introduction. Volt was incorrect in one way (okay, several way. The fact that she was still jumping to the conclusion everyone was hostile was also something that was going to get taken the wrong way). The Doctor hadn't been blinking in very much longer. She'd just been talking to more people. This was only her second room, but she'd been exposed to a lot more blinkers than Volt had so far. "Just calm - oh look it's a dragon - down everyone," she said easily. "As he said, this is just a little extra dimension outside of your own. Nothin' to be worried about." She smiled reassuringly. It was the only reassuring thing she'd actually done, but she wasn't to know that. "Hello again," she added to Sky. "You're just back in the room you were in before. It's a slightly damp castle now, but still a castle. While we're here, mind if I request keeping an eye out for a small jewel or rock of some kind? It's probably important." She glanced at Enjolras for help here. She still remembered Neb saying it was often a puzzle that happened in the room and it seemed officially like a puzzle that The Doctor had completed to get that small stone. It probably meant something.

Being corrected, Elliot couldn't help but shift a foot back with an apologetic expression, "I appreciate the correction." He softly added. Archangel... He considered his eyes shifting off towards the side in further thought. To be speaking of an angel, and being in the present of basically two, it was quite a twist of fate. Normally we look to the heavens for success in our campaigns but, rarely do we actually meet this individuals. He silently examined. Following after Sandalphon, he couldn't help but examine the individual from a distance.
The laugh erupting from Sandalphon caught Elliot off guard. Had he said something out of turn? Had he made another grand mistake? How many more mistakes will he continue to make in this short period? Furthermore, if his mother were around-would he been thrown into punishment for the continuous errors? Yet, the new company across from him thanked him. He stiffened a little, with a nod. "Much appreciated." Was all he could say.
Elliot followed after, slowing as they reached the door. It looked like any other door but provided continuous warnings from other people, anything was possible. He watched the individual prepare to open the door and materialize some sort of crystal-like weapon. Seeing the weapons of crystal, Elliot stiffened. The ability though unfamiliar did bring some similarities to a few familiar abilities from his homeworld. No-It couldn't be... No... I, am worrying myself over nothing
Elliot leaned slightly on his toes, despite being a tall figure. The sight of many doors stretching down what appeared an endless hallway was initially an unpleasant sight. It reminded him of illusionists and their methods in combat-especially the rebels against the crown. He closed his eyes tightly silently shaking his head as a means to internally reassure himself that this was the houses' intention and not his own struggles. "Shall we?" he softly addressed to the dumbfounded Archangel.
