“Yeah, I’d prefer if we stick together,” Matteo uttered. After all, see seemed to know more about this place than he did. Once they reached the door, he approached with a shrug. He place his ear up to it, as if to listen, but he really didn’t hear anything. “It couldn’t hurt to knock,” he muttered, and quickly knocked on the door after he said that. He quickly scurried off and hid behind The Doctor, peering around her to see if anyone would answer.

There was a noise on the other side of the door and The Doctor opened it after a second, looking in on a room which contained a bed, a dresser of sorts, and a suit of armor. The suit of armor was moving. "Hello?" questioned The Doctor, looking at it curiously before she stepped forward. "Are ya a blinker or are ya just ...?" She looked back at Matteo, curious, but hesitant. She wasn't very sure about the workings of the House and what it could or could not do.

“Hephaestus? Hello? Do you copy? This is Captain Isabel Lovelace, who am I speaking to? I repeat - “ The captain took a sharp breath as she left the blinding, overheated interior of the shuttle and landed, abruptly, in a cool, dim room, shoes clicking on the hard stone floor that had replaced the sharp artificial one she’d been standing on. “God dammit...not now...” She gritted her teeth, her patience with whoever had done this to her running extremely thin now that she’d been her a few times. She stood up a little straighter, and realized that her tattered, overworn clothing had been replaced with a different set - dark green and brown, forest colors, with a cloak and...arrows and a bow, strung around her shoulder. Only then did she also note her surroundings - she was in a more or less round stone room, with a staircase leading down, with two people nearby, one of whom was dressed in a heavy-looking suit of armor. “Goddard Futuristics’ finest into DND now or something? Goddamn nerds...hey, you guys!” She gestured in the air towards the suit of armor and the other woman, impatient. “You got names?”

Matteo only shook his head, slowly following behind The Doctor. “Um. B-be careful please,” he muttered, making sure to stay behind her. “Because the armor is not a blinker. They’re probably going to attack us or something...” The boy stared at the armor with a slight frown. “But hopefully not.” He stepped to the side and was now grinning at the armor. “Hi! Do you want to help us find the exit?”

Iceclaw <Raintalon> broken"I think they would prefer to get out of the armor first," The Doctor said to Matteo, amused. She stepped forward and started removing one of Aizawa's metal armor plating. Even though he wasn't exactly capable of doing so with so much metal on, she still seemed to know exactly what to do to help him get it off. To Lovelace, she said, "Oh yes. That's Matteo and I'm The Doctor. What's ya name?" She smiled as she pulled Aizawa's breastplate off and tossed it, clanking, onto the bed along with the helmet. "And I don't know about you. Hallo! Nice to meet ya. We're in a castle, in case you were wondering. I take neither of you have been in one any more than Matteo here has."

Aizawa's gaze dropped down to Matteo's cheerful face. "Getting out would be ideal," he said. Grateful that this 'doctor' had helped him, they made short work of the armor, leaving him in chainmail. While annoying, he would survive. "I'm Aizawa," he said, looking up as another lady came to join them. Unfair that she had gotten the light, useful clothing. He snorted at her DND comment. Mic would love her. Besides, if this hallucination was about DND, they'd gotten him aaaaall wrong. As the Doctor continued, he refrained from rolling his eyes. Obviously they were in a castle. Where else would he get a shitty suit of armor? Besides, while he hadn't personally been in any castles, he'd seen plenty in movies. It was probably the same idea.

[[ Castle Room || Helena ]] "-ready to leave in a couple..." Helena paused as the castle she'd been standing in was suddenly replaced with another. It had been quite awhile since her last blink and she'd started to think that she wasn't going to be brought back. She reached up suddenly, eyes widening as she realized that she was wearing her crown. Until now she'd always managed to blink in without it. So much for people here not finding out who she was... maybe they wouldn't notice? It seemed to fit the theme of the room at least. The princess turned to smile and wave at the small group of blinkers- none of whom she recognized. They were blinkers right? She wasn't sure why the House create images of people if it could just bring them in from other worlds. "Hello! This is a rather... interesting room."

Lovelace took in each of their names, committing them to memory and matching them to faces so she wouldn’t have to do this all over again in a few days. Matteo. Aizawa. The... “‘The Doctor’?” repeated Lovelace, raising an eyebrow at the blonde woman as she introduced herself. “So, not just...a doctor, then? Or is that your actual name?” Well, if one out of these three people were fake personalities, she could bet on which one it was. She shook her head, then moved on to Matteo - the littlest of the group by far. He better be a simulation too, or Cutter had even more of an ass kicking coming to him than she’d thought. If that was even possible. “Hey, Matteo.” She crouched down, awkwardly aware that she wasn’t very experienced in dealing with kids. “How old are you?”

Matteo blushed out of embarrassment for not hearing what Aizawa needed help at first. Well, at least someone was able to help him out of the armor; the little boy thought he was an enemy at first. It relieved him to realize he was just another’s blinker. He stared around the group, listening to the individual conversations beforehand his eyes rested on one person in particular, and that was Lovelace. “Hola Miss!” He greeted with a warm smile. “I’m only 8 years old. Why do you want to know?”

"Not 'a,'" The Doctor reassured Lovelace. "'The'. Singular. It's who I am." Her smile was easy in the fact of Aizawa's ... temperament and seemed completely unshaken by Lovelace or Helena's sudden appearance. Looking ever so slightly with worry at Lovelace and her question, she moved to say something to Helana, but kept an ear on the previous exchange. She knew why Lovelace wanted to know. "Interesting, yes. Clearly this room up here doesn't have anything other than the bedroom though. I was hopin' to find more people though, so I guess it's alright." She glanced at Aizawa. "Why such a hurry to get out? I mean ... if it's the chainmail than maybe there's some different clothin' in there?" She pointed at a chest which might contain clothing. Who knew.
(Ooooo! What if there were things they had to collect around the castle? Like jewels or something?)

Aizawa flashed the Doctor a dead eyed look. Wasn't it obvious why he didn't want to clunk around a castle in a suit of armor? Not bothering to waste his breath answering her, he looked at Lovelace and Helena. "Who are you?" he asked, feeling for his capture weapon. Not there, of course. He didn't appreciate that the hallucination could just take his weapon. The more he blinked in, however, the more confused he got about this particular quirk, if that was what it was. Most hallucinatory quirks relied on the victim not knowing they were hallucinating in order to be effective. His thoughts were crystal clear, he knew where he was and what he was supposed to be doing, and yet this place still didn't seem to have any cracks that he could exploit. It unsettled him.

Mallory lightly gasped as the bag of dog food disappeared from her hands. The surprise turned into confusion as she realized she was in some sort of castle, but suddenly a memory came to her. On Tuesday, while she was at school, she'd suddenly been transported to a weird place. It had happened twice. Until now, she had been shrugging the events off as memories of a weird dream. But now, here she was, in a weird place. She knew she was pouring dog food a few seconds ago. Absolutely certain. As she glanced towards the other blinkers, she found one woman's face to be oddly familiar. Mallory was pretty certain she hadn't met her before. Just as she opened her mouth to ask if she was going insane, a memory suddenly came to her. During one of the Tuesday incidents, the woman had said that this was some type of alternate reality called 'The Paradox House'. Was all of this really true? She wanted to confirm it - something to let her know if the others were false or real. "This is the Paradox House, right?" she asked, taking a couple steps towards the group. Until now, she hadn't noticed her change in outfit. Her jeans and t-shirt had been replaced with a long purple gown (which she just almost tripped on). A matching steeple cap with a long ribbon coming out of the top was on her head.

(I'll be poofing here for the weekend. If you wanna say that Myrnin blinked out you can. ^^ ) "What's a serial killer?" asked Myrnin. He knew what a killer was, of course, but the term Sherlock used ran past him completely. He looked worried, just a little, but Sherlock seemed excited. This was a very mixed bag of emotions. He did brighten a bit as he remembered Sherlock had said 'blown up'. "Did it really? That's really cool! How'd it blow up?" He wasn't sure what to say about the challenges, but he was curious. Dry spells just made him think of droughts. But then Sherlock asked him something and Myrnin brightened a little more. "It's nice enough. I live in a small village and we trade to larger ones. It's by a huuuuuuuuuuges forest and stuff. And some mountains and hills." His head tilted at Sherlock's second question, unsure of how much to say. "Uuuuh. I help out my family." He chewed at his lip. "I got two sisters, though one is just a baby. And my mom." He didn't mention his father, but he got a slightly worried look and then moved on. "We raise sheep and have a bit of a garden to feed the family but mostly just trade." They raised sheep, but none currently. "I mostly am kept away from the house a lot and do ... work ... in the forest." 'Work' being anything he could think to do, which wasn't much. And his mother always seemed very wary of him whenever he was at home anyway. Or in the village. Or anywhere with people, even. So Myrnin played where he played, working with what he found. And wondered what would happen if he never came home, though he knew he had to. “Oh lots of reasons.” Sherlock waved his hand dismissively, as though his house blowing up wasn’t good enough to be considered for a conversation topic. “A serial killer once, actually, which by the way is a killer who’s murdered at least two victims relatively close to each other, almost always with a certain style, or a certain type of victim. Once I left my experiment in the microwave and John didn’t see it when he went to warm up his tea. That was a fun one, we were both there at the time, the place smelled like burned rubber for ages.” He could have gone on, but he was more interested in hearing about Myrnin’s life as a child, so he fell silent and let the boy talk. Oh. And just like that, everything made perfect sense. “Sounds lovely, working in the forest all day. Do you ever look for snakes?” His mind wasn’t on snakes. “What’s your mom like? Nice? Does she keep you away from the house?” He knew he was going too fast as soon as the words tore from his mouth, but he was so close to piecing it all together and he couldn’t resist pushing it. Myrnin of course wanted to hear about explosions and all these weird words Sherlock was using left and right as if they were normal. He honestly couldn't even understand most of it, but he tried. At least Sherlock's description of a serial killer made sense, though the boy had to suppress a shiver. How could someone kill? Didn't it make them sad? Snakes? Myrnin wasn't quite sure where that came from as a question, but he shrugged. "I ... watch out for them. But don't really look for them, no." And then Sherlock started asking a lot of questions about his mom and Myrnin's eyes narrowed. Several walls came crashing down over his expression as he tried to dissect why Sherlock would be asking. He was from the future or another world, right? Some place where Myrnin didn't have to worry about repercussions. But surely Sherlock would see everything wrong with him if only he knew to look. But ... what did that have to do with his mother? Carefully, he answered the first two questions, but choice his words with care. "Y-yeah, she's fine. She's a good mom." As best she could be considering who her son was. Sure, maybe she treated his sisters differently, but that didn't not make her good. Right? "She keeps me busy," he added, still finding he was keeping his words careful. "Why?" he added a question of his own. Why are you asking?"

“Just curious,” said Lovelace, because the real reason wasn’t very suitable for an eight year old’s ears. “Man, eight years old? That’s a cool age - I liked being eight.” She paused, ideas racing through her mind as she watched the little guy. If he was a simulation, she’d look kind of stupid for talking to him. But how was she supposed to know? If he was real, she didn’t even want to think about where his unconscious body was right now. Goddard Futuristics’ headquarters? Some deep dark lab? A ship? She shook her head - best not to dwell on it until she could fix it. “Okay - so I have an idea, little guy. Why don’t you stick close to me for now? We can be buddies, for this room.” She shot him her best smile. “Sound good?” Heading Aizawa’s question, she straightened up, arms falling to her sides. “My name’s Isabel Lovelace - I’m the captain of the U.S.S. Hephaestus station orbiting Wolf 359.” After spitting out her name and rank, she raised an eyebrow at the unkempt, exhausted-looking man, as if seeing him properly for the first time. “And you? I know you said your name’s Aizawa, but...well, what else? What do you do when you’re not...wherever the hell this is?”

(Hey guys!! Anyone want to finish up the forest room tonight? I’m just going to reblink Volt in since i’ve been gone ^^; )
A sound like a Tesla coil dropped into a pile of firecrackers suddenly echoed through the forest. Volt floundered out of the knee-deep lake water in a shower of electric blue sparks, the lights on her armor flickering wildly. Once safely perched on the rocks that bordered the lake, the Tenno tried to shake the remaining water droplets off, silent but clearly bitter about the whole affair.

"Ah!" said The Doctor brightly. "A space ship. I -" And she was going to say something, but Mallory blinked in and she looked over at her and confirmed, "Yes. This is the Paradox House. We're in a room." She waved around at everything and seemed very pleased with this occurrence. "Introductions have already been exchanged for the most part. That's Matteo." She nodded at the young boy. Mallory was pretty young herself. She sighed at Aizawa's look, but didn't actually say anything more to him. Instead she moved to a window and looked out at the drizzle. It didn't seem like there was any way to open the window, but like Matteo she could see the grounds and their beauty. It didn't hint at the castle's size, but she could guess. "This room's gettin' a bit cramped," she pointed out. "So if there's nothin' here, I suggest goin' downstairs?" She looked at Lovelace, Aizawa, and the others.
(I don't think anyone saw this, so I'll try again: (Ooooo! What if there were things they had to collect around the castle? Like jewels or something?))

Volt looked up. “I’m fine. Thank you for your con- thanks.” For half a second the Tenno used her formal “customer service” voice before catching herself. It had been two chaotic days since her first visit to the Paradox House. She stomped one foot, forcing the rest of the water off, before turning to Neb and Hange with a shrug. “It happens.” Her tone was dismissive, slightly forced. Just because it happened didn’t mean she liked it. But there was no use in complaining. Seeming to recall the events of her past visit, Volt’s head tilted in concern. “Have you been here this whole time?” ( dawn <Raintalon> ))

Hange followed Neb to the water’s edge, swinging their arms idly behind them as they easily kept stride with the girl. They tilted their head, fascinated, as Volt’s cascade of blue sparks reflected, momentarily, in their goggles, before going out completely. “We just arrived,” they confirmed as Volt made her way out of the water. They leaned in a little closer, eyes wide with interest as they cautiously reached out a hand to feel the space around her armor for electric charge. “Is this...suit of yours conductive? How does it work??”
(yes mint!! that sounds fun : o )
Lovelace narrowed her eyes at Aizawa’s evasive answer, but she could hardly fault him for being secretive in a place like this. It did earn him a place on her ‘possibly a real person’ list she’d started to compile in her head, though. As ‘The Doctor’ spoke again, she turned, folding her arms and shifting her weight to one foot. “I’m for that plan. It’s starting to feel like a bus at rush hour up here.”

“Well, it’s not a suit.” Volt replied, head angling to watch Hange’s hand. After a moment of deliberation, she held out one of her own, palm up, for the human to touch. Metal plating interwoven with a hard but pliable organic substance. “It’s a warframe. It’s me.” Explaining how her abilities worked was a different matter altogether. Volt wasn’t certain herself, and she still wasn’t entirely convinced she could trust Hange, so her response was pointedly vague. “I use energy to generate the electricity, and release it at will.” The Tenno shot a sharp glance at the surface of the lake. “.... unless I come into contact with water.” The small lights in Volt’s armor glittered dimly. Arriving straight into the water had nearly drained her energy reserves and, worst of all, it had felt like the current had been trying to drag her deeper in. She didn’t know for sure if Tenno could actually drown like organic creatures did but even so, it had to be one of the worst deaths. ( <Raintalon> )

[[ Living Room || Arlo || dawn ]] Arlo nodded, both to Rae's comment about her being able to take care of herself and about the island. "Yep. It's been a bit longer for you than me though, I guess it's been... a bit over a year in my world since you stopped blinking?" She couldn't remember exactly, but it had been awhile. "Well..." She paused for a moment, probably trying to decide where to start. When she did start she'd skipped over anything that had actually happened on the island. "After I got off the island I found my way back to my old House like I said. We had a room hidden behind a bookcase where all the important stuff was but I'd wanted to walk around the place one more time and I heard someone else come in when I was looking around my old room. I couldn't get the door to close right when I got there and Jasper noticed it... his father was a friend of my family's and he was with us when we went to the island. Apparently Jasper thought there might be something in the house that would give him an idea of what happened to us..." She sighed and shook her head. "I tried to to make him leave and told him not to get involved, he didn't want to listen annd then the house caught on fire, so I ended up having to go get the stuff out of the secret room with him. As you can probably guess that just made him more determined to find out what happened and pretty much ruined any chance I had at getting him to leave it alone. I stayed at his place for a while trying to figure things out and put together some kind of plan." Another pause. She was frowning slightly and glaring at her necklace now. "I didn't want him to get involved in whatever this is, but I realized I was going to need a way back to the island and it didn't make sense to drag someone else into this mess. He probably would've ignored my warnings and got himself killed somehow if he'd stayed behind when I went to the island anyway." Her tone changed, seeming a bit uncertain as she thought about what had happened in her world before she'd blinked. "I'm not entirely sure where to go from here, but I have some ideas at least." Only like a year? Stuff like that shouldn't have surprised her any more, really. It was kind of nice, though, to think that there wasn't such a large gap in time with the others since they had last seen her. Rae nodded along again to show she was paying attention, even when she didn't speak, and by the end her brow had raised. "That's...that's really wild," she said. "You probably ended up doing the right thing, though. As you said he would have found his own way which would've been more dangerous." As Rae herself could attest to during times she shouldn't have gotten involved but did anyway, having ended up on both sides of those sorts of situations. "As long as you're not running in blind," Rae then murmured. "So you just got back to the island, do you think you'll be safe for a bit while you get yourself together?"

"Very well!" said The Doctor cheerfully, turning toward the door after she'd checked that everyone knew what was going on. Then she started to descend the stairs, hiking up the annoying dress that did not seem very practical for running at breakneck speeds down a hallway. The stairs were the same down as they had been up. Nothing had changed. The Doctor glanced out a window as she descended and when she reached the landing where she and Matteo had first appeared she considered the options. The staircase still continued downward or this hall continued until it hit a room with tapestries in it. With a shrug, she walked in that direction. It was as good as any other. People kept asking to get out, which she really didn't understand. This place was impressive and looking in every corner sounded like a good plan to her. So far, there had been nothing dangerous. (If this was a classic TV episode, the person in the back is getting eaten. )

So this was the same place, supposedly. Mallory was still ready to assume that everyone was either crazy or not real - after all, that statement about being in a room was simply an obvious fact. However, this confirmation seemed to be a small step in the sane direction. "Sure," she commented, in response to the question about going downstairs. As uncertain as she was about the group and as hard as it was to maneuver in her princess costume, she didn't want to stand around.

@ dawn(Sorry apparently I can’t tag you), »ƑαƖcση ) Hange’s eyes just grew bigger and bigger behind their glasses as Volt explained her powers, a billion questions racing through their head as she spoke. When she held up a hand, they eagerly raised their own and pressed it to the surface, rapt attention focusing on every detail and nuance of its visible structure. “So this...is you. No suit, but more like...” Well, more like a titan. Almost exactly like a titan, actually, except that there was probably no tiny Volt at the center of all of it. But still...eerily similar in function. “More like a second skin?” they suggested, using the example of the Armored Titan without having to go into details on their world. “That’s incredible...does it grow with you?” They paused with great difficulty, biting their tongue to allow Neb to get a question in. Be polite, Hange, be polite.

(I have never seen AoT but learning there is a tiny titan inside the big ones just makes it so much better xDD ) "You haven't blinked to your worlds for two days?" Volt tried to clarify what was going on. It had seemed like Neb and Hange hadn't moved from the spot Volt had last seen them, but it had been nearly 48 hours since she had left the House. Surely they had made some progress in that amount of time? "And in principle... no. But its not fun." The Tenno added in response to her question. "It drains my entire power supply, and until that's gone, the water is dangerous for anything else that goes in." Hange's odd analysis was a different matter. Volt tipped her head slightly to the side, an expression of either confusion or consideration as she attempted to find a suitable response. "My kind does not... grow. Not like humans. Warframes, our bodies, are biomechanical." 'Second skin' seemed to imply there was a first, softer skin beneath the armor plating, which wasn't the case. The Tenno shrugged a little, not exactly sure how to explain something she barely knew herself. Here's hoping Hange didn't ask where they came from in the first place. Volt peered curiously at Hange with a few questions of her own, hoping to steer the discussion elsewhere. "What about you? Are there different factions of people in your dimension?" She asked. "Or is everyone human?" ( dawn <Raintalon> )
