(Ok I’m just going to throw someone in the living room for now I guess)
Matteo had been jumping on the bed when he blinked in, and thankfully the House blinked in on the couch. He hopped a few more times, but soon slowed once he realized where he was. “Great I’m back!” He exclaimed, climbing off and looking around. He didn’t notice anyone in the living room at the moment, so maybe he’d sit around for a bit and we if anyone showed up. He would go explore some rooms, but he had been warned multiple times not to do so. So the little boy sighed and plopped back on the couch, humming softly to himself.

(Rip sorry for vanishing for so long, internet has been spotty >_< dawn <Raintalon> ++Echo I can’t spell your username from memory on mobile to tag you rip) Volt nodded stiffly. The circumstances were just too odd, there was no telling if the wolf had even ended up in the river. For all they knew, it could have regained its sight and flown away. Speaking of the river, Volt turned as Astolfo ran to help Hange out of it. The Tenno might have offered to help but... Hange was covered in water. “Could the lake be the way out?” Volt asked, glancing to Neb. “Or are we looking for something else? Is this “exit” a physical door?”

The Doctor once again reappeared and this time she actually seemed to catch herself before saying something to someone who was no longer there. There still seemed to be snow dusted all over her shoulders. She brushed it off with one hand while she said to Matteo, "Hey again! Whatcha been up to? Have I been gone long?" She looked around, but apparently this dimension didn't have a clock. "What time is it?" she wondered. It actually didn't matter, but now she was curious just because she hadn't thought to ask the question before.

Matt perked up at the sign of the nice lady from last time. “Hi!” He muttered with a wide grin. “Um not much really. I was just playing around until I came here. What about you, Miss?” The boy then shrugged. “Um, I don’t know how long you’ve been gone. And before I blinked in, it was around lunchtime. But the House doesn’t have time, if that’s what you’re asking.”

"It doesn't?" marveled The Doctor. "Wow." She looked up at the ceiling, then went to the door that exited into the hallway, opening it and looking out on the doors which stretched and branched out as far as she could see. "Brilliant," she muttered under her breath, looking quite cheerful at the prospect of an endless maze of hallways and doors. Then she looked back at Matt, closing the door behind here. "I was only gone about a couple of minutes, but I wasn't sure if the timeflow here was different or not. Apparently it is, accordin' to ya." She walked a couple of steps forward, still finding snow on her shoulders. "Oh yeah. Ya asked where I was." She glanced up from picking snow out of her blond hair. "And please. Call me The Doctor." Miss ... that was new. Mrs. would have been worse. Neither really ... they just didn't fit. "I was on a planet. Hadn't figured out which one yet. It was snowing. A lot." She pointed down at her shoes and socks. Both of which had small puddles of water around them after the snow had melted off them.

Matteo watched her closely, having gotten up from the couch now. The boy was glad he was able to explain something right about the time- well at least he tried anyway. “I’m sorry, The Doctor. I-I didn’t mean to offend you, I just try to be nice to everyone I meet, at least that’s what Celia wants me to do.” He then glanced down at her feet, then back up at her. “Woah, so you must travel a lot then, huh? That must be sooo much fun to do! What type of adventures do you go on? Anything like some of the rooms here, if you’ve ever experienced it?”

(Ouch. Sorry about dropping off the face of the Earth. I was cleaning my bookshelf. @.@ )
"No offense, no offense," The Doctor assured with a kind smile. "Celia sounds like someone who speaks wisdom to live by. Ya very nice, so ya have nothing to worry about." She leaned against the back of one of the couches, looking far more at ease in the living room than someone who was only experiencing their third blink. But then again, this was pretty much her life experience. "Oh I travel all the time," confirmed The Doctor. "Through time too, for that matter. It's super fun." She grinned at Matt and wagged her hands a bit as if to illustrate the feeling. "Seein' places - or I've seen places, a lot of places, but showin' other people! That's the real fun." She was still grinning and it seemed to reach all the way to her eyes. "I've been in one room, so ye. It is like that. Get to see a lot of things. But the sorta adventure really depends were ya go. I've been on all sorts." She mused a bit on that. "Some good, some bad, and some in-between. What about you Matteo? Ya been on adventures?"

Hange sat up quickly and coughed once more, a tiny dribble of water running from the corner of their mouth as they expelled the remaining water from their lungs. They briefly wondered if they’d swallowed any - would their body metabolize House-generated water? And for that matter, if it did, what would happen when they blinked back? Would the molecules belonging to the House be pulled from their cells? Or would they be allowed to keep it inside them? And if that was the case - would that mean that from then on, they would have pieces of the House floating through their body? On impulse, they grasped a handful of water from the river and brought it to their mouth, tipping their head back to swallow it. Too bad they had no way to measure the time - they’d just have to estimate it. Slowly, they pulled their attention back to the conversation at hand, listening quietly for a moment before realizing what was being suggested. “I agree,” they said, pulling themself to their feet and wobbling a bit, dripping all over the forest floor. “If there’s a lake, the House probably put it there for a reason. It would be prudent to investigate.”

A new person blinked in, about two and a half inches above the stained green carpet. A tiny grunt of surprise escaped him as he hit the ground and stumbled, his light brown trench coat flaring out behind him for an instant before he caught himself on a bookshelf and straightened up to get his bearings. He reached up slowly and touched his forehead, as if making sure it was still there. Which, in fact, he was. Satisfied that his vessel was intact, he dropped his hand and gave the room a quick scan, looking for anything that might explain what had just happened. The room was an average size for the time he guessed it was from, but the smell was impossible, hints of things he didn’t have a word for in any language hit the back of his throat and made him blink with the intensity of it, and the bookshelf felt odd under his hand. Odd, but at the same time shockingly ordinary. He removed his hand and subconsciously wiped it off on his coat, as though carefully removing potential toxins. Then he slowly took a step forward, testing the ground. It seemed stable, so he took another step, then another, until he was all the way across to where the sole door out stood closed. He considered knocking, but that seemed like a bad idea, somehow. Did he want whoever was here to know he was in their house? Instead he simply considered the door for a long moment, hesitant. Unsure whether or not he should open it.

Steve appeared, his sleeves rolled up as he attempted to throw a punch. His eyes widened in surprise when not only did his fist miss its target, but it landed in thin air, which sent the young man hurtling forward and almost hitting the ground. He really needed to work on his balance. Muttering something under his breath, Steve rolled his other sleeve up and looked around. The two people he'd met in his previous blinks weren't there, but there was a man he didn't recognize. It was impossible to tell if he was from a different time period just based on his clothes, but he figured someone from another world likely wouldn't be wearing a trench coat. "Excuse me," he said, stepping forward and holding out a hand in greeting. The last thing he wanted to do was surprise this newcomer, but he figured if he was going to keep meeting strange people here he may as well get to know them a little bit. "I wouldn't go in there if I were you. At least not alone." He had yet to see a room himself, of course, but based on what he had heard, it wasn't the best idea. Who knew if the complete stranger would listen to him, but it was at least worth a try.

Castiel has just made the decision to risk it when an unfamiliar voice made him freeze, his hand nearly touching the doorknob but not quite there. He glanced over his shoulder, instantly seeing the young human who definitely hadn’t been there before and now definitely was. At least he didn’t seem aggressive at the moment, since he’d alerted the angel to his presence when it would have been very easy to attack. He finally dropped his arm back to his side and turned the rest of him to face the younger man, then tilted his head down to look at the hand extended towards him. “You’re excused.” He said gravely, satisfied that there was nothing in Steve’s hand he was supposed to take. “Do you know where I am? Why shouldn’t I leave? I assure you I am a lot more capable than I look.”

mintedstar/fur “Oh ok, I was just making sure Miss- I mean The Doctor,” Matteo said with a soft giggle. He made his way over on the front of the couch, sitting on it the wrong way to still watch her as she spoke. “Woah, so you time travel? Yeah, I bet that must be really fun! I’d like to do that, but I don’t honk that’s porrible in my world.” He shrugged, now glancing around the living room. “And this place is the only time I can really go on adventures. I’ve been in tons of rooms, and I wish I could renter some of them again. And you also meet a lot of really nice people along the way!” His brown eyes rested on the lady again and he shifted to sit on the arm of the couch. “How long have you been blinking in anyway? Long enough to go in some rooms?”

Steve hesitantly lowered his hand. Apparently, nobody here understood how a normal handshake was supposed to work. Either they got too excited about it, or they simply refused to do it. He chalked it up to a cultural difference, though he still didn't really understand how the house managed to bring so many people from so many different places together and still have them understand each other and be able to communicate normally. "I... I don't know where we are," he admitted. "I've only been here twice before, and I'm not sure how much of what I was told I really believe. Best I can gather they call this place the Paradox House. That door doesn't lead out, it just leads to a hallway with hundreds of identical doors. I understand those doors lead to rooms that are designed to test you in some way. I was advised not to go alone." To be fair, that last bit could have been that he looked like a sickly kid... nonetheless, he figured it was likely wise advice. "You'll have to talk to someone more familiar with this place about details. Though..." he considered, smirking to himself. "I wouldn't mind exploring a bit." He looked up, extending the offer to the other man.

(No worries! I...didn’t have a plan here oops. Time to wing it. ) Sherlock followed th boy, his longer legs making it easy for him to keep up without breaking stride. The grass was quite tall in some places and he could tell it was damp from the way his feet hit it. On earth he would have assumed snakes and mice roamed somewhere nearby, and the call of a bird nearby confirmed that animal life was possible in this room, so he looked down as he walked, scanning the ground for any sign of movement not caused by him or Myrnin. ”Some, yes.” The detective glanced up as the boy spoke, taking in the way his face shifted as he mentioned his sheep. That was interesting. Either they were dead or there was some reason they could no longer graze. If he simply couldn’t watch them anymore, he wouldn’t have emphasized past tense like that, possibly they’d been sold? His mouth quirked up a moment later as the smaller blinker continued, giving him the perfect opening to learn more. “Oh, I think it’s quite cool, my house has blown up several times and serial killers seem to end up there more often than one would expect, probably because I remain undefeated and a tempting challenge for them.” He answered all in one breath, somehow not stumbling over his own tongue. “I like it most of the time, although the dry spells are dreadfully boring. Less now that John’s kid is finally old enough to go places.” The last part was said almost like an afterthought, as though he hadn’t realized the daughter’s existence had made his life more interesting until just now. He moved on quickly. ”Alright, questions. Tell me a little about your world, what’s it like? What does an average day for Amico look like?” (I'll be poofing here for the weekend. If you wanna say that Myrnin blinked out you can. ^^ ) "What's a serial killer?" asked Myrnin. He knew what a killer was, of course, but the term Sherlock used ran past him completely. He looked worried, just a little, but Sherlock seemed excited. This was a very mixed bag of emotions. He did brighten a bit as he remembered Sherlock had said 'blown up'. "Did it really? That's really cool! How'd it blow up?" He wasn't sure what to say about the challenges, but he was curious. Dry spells just made him think of droughts. But then Sherlock asked him something and Myrnin brightened a little more. "It's nice enough. I live in a small village and we trade to larger ones. It's by a huuuuuuuuuuges forest and stuff. And some mountains and hills." His head tilted at Sherlock's second question, unsure of how much to say. "Uuuuh. I help out my family." He chewed at his lip. "I got two sisters, though one is just a baby. And my mom." He didn't mention his father, but he got a slightly worried look and then moved on. "We raise sheep and have a bit of a garden to feed the family but mostly just trade." They raised sheep, but none currently. "I mostly am kept away from the house a lot and do ... work ... in the forest." 'Work' being anything he could think to do, which wasn't much. And his mother always seemed very wary of him whenever he was at home anyway. Or in the village. Or anywhere with people, even. So Myrnin played where he played, working with what he found. And wondered what would happen if he never came home, though he knew he had to. “Oh lots of reasons.” Sherlock waved his hand dismissively, as though his house blowing up wasn’t good enough to be considered for a conversation topic. “A serial killer once, actually, which by the way is a killer who’s murdered at least two victims relatively close to each other, almost always with a certain style, or a certain type of victim. Once I left my experiment in the microwave and John didn’t see it when he went to warm up his tea. That was a fun one, we were both there at the time, the place smelled like burned rubber for ages.” He could have gone on, but he was more interested in hearing about Myrnin’s life as a child, so he fell silent and let the boy talk. Oh. And just like that, everything made perfect sense. “Sounds lovely, working in the forest all day. Do you ever look for snakes?” His mind wasn’t on snakes. “What’s your mom like? Nice? Does she keep you away from the house?” He knew he was going too fast as soon as the words tore from his mouth, but he was so close to piecing it all together and he couldn’t resist pushing it.

Cas didn’t reply right away, processing the information first, his head still inclined to one side. As usual with humans, there was a lot more information in what he hadn’t meant to say than what he had. Like the fact that apparently you could come and go several times, probably the same way they’d both just appeared here. And the fact that there were more people around here somewhere, although when he glanced around he didn’t see anyone else. “The...’Paradox House’.” He repeated under his breath, an inquisitive frown creasing the space between his eyes as he looked back at Steve. “I would like to talk to this other people. Are they somewhere in the hallway, or did they leave already?” At the suggestion that they explore, the angel’s frown deepened and he looked over his shoulder at the door, still sitting unopened in its frame. He narrowed his eyes at it. “Are you saying we should go in one of the dangerous test rooms you were warned to stay out of?”

broken(My bookcase continues to give me a headache and a distraction.) Ah yes. The different worlds. Realities, The Doctor supposed. And that meant this one, this possibly intelligent reality, collected them all together and somehow wasn't bursting at the seams. It was amazing. Also, as far as she'd known before, completely impossible. She loved when impossible things weren't. "Never know," she said to Matteo. "Maybe it is possible. And even if it isn't, ya got a big wide world to explore of ya own. I'm sure you'll get a chance when ya a bit older." Her eyes sparkled with mirth. "Oh, believe it or not this is only my third time here. Ain't exactly as shocked as some of the other new people who turned up." She tapped a finger against the upholstery before pointing at Matteo. "What about you? How long 'ave you been blinking in?"

mintedstar/fur(Eh that’s alright, I’m a bit distracted atm too) Matteo shrugged. “Well Yeah, Maybe it is possible, but I wouldn’t know. I’m just being locked up in my clone’s place and he likes everything to be old-fashioned,” the little boy rambled on. “But I’d like to see that happen once I’m older! That would be so fun!” “Woah and really?” He smiled and have her a thumbs up. “You’re doing really great then! New people who blink in are usually scared of this place until they get used to it. In fact, maybe I can show you to one of the rooms, if you’re up for an adventure.” He slid off the couch, looking up at her. “And I’ve been here for a while now. In my world, maybe it’s been a year or two.”

If it hadn’t been for the fact that he’d been plucked from the air mid-flight like a butterfly in a net, Cas would have been a lot less cautious about this place. As it was, he had no idea what could do that. Something incredibly powerful, that apparently didn’t want him dead right this minute, so that was...something. And this boy? The angel considered him for a moment, taking in his grin at the mention of the danger they were both in. “Stand still.” He said, and reached out, laying his hand on the Steve’s left shoulder. At the same moment he tried to fly back to the spot he’d disappeared from, intending to take the boy along with him. Nothing happened. Castiel frowned, lifted his hand, and tried again to fly away, Nothing. He was actually trapped in this place. He hadn’t really been concerned until now, just...confused. Maybe a little bit unbalanced. Now.... “Okay.” He agreed abruptly, dropping his hand back to his side with a small nod. If he couldn’t leave, he needed to figure out where he actually was and how he’d gotten there, and that wasn’t happening in this room. “I will help you explore this House of Paradoxes. Um....” He turned back to the door, which was still closed. “Do you want me to open the door?”

Steve watched as Cas grabbed him by the shoulder, blinking in confusion when whatever he had attempted to do wasn't working. "Are... you okay?" he asked, trying to figure out if there was something the matter. he had a feeling the other man was trying to get out, but he had no idea how just standing there would have worked, even in their own worlds. But maybe.. well, who was he to question if people could teleport? He'd been transported here to a place where people from different worlds could come together. It was fine if nothing made sense here, wasn't it? Maybe it would take a while to come to grips with. He turned towards the door, considering Cas' questions. "I'll get it," he replied, grabbing the doorknob and turning before he could think twice about it. It opened easily, and he held the door open for his new companion. "My name's Steve, by the way."

brokenClone? The Doctor considered this for a second. She didn't know enough about Matteo's world to know whether it mattered or not, but it did spike a slight bit of her curiosity. She nodded her head at his excitement of when he was older. "Yes, that sounds like a good plan." She pushed herself away from the couch at Matteo's suggestion. "Sounds like fun! I would love to see, Matteo." She remembered the wolves which had attacked her and the other blinkers in her first room, but for now she was confident she could protect Matteo if anything like that happened. "I'm always up for an adventure. This way, I gather?" She pointed toward the hallway and started walking in that direction. "That's a long time to be coming here. But it's clear you like it. “I’m fine.” Cas reassured the younger blinker, even though he wasn’t sure that was completely true right now. Not being able to fly, it....felt a lot like suddenly waking up paralyzed. The only thing he could think of was holy fire, but that obviously wasn’t here, unless this entire house was surrounded. Maybe...? He watched Steve open the door carefully, but there didn’t seem to be anyone waiting on the other side, so he tried it. Flying such a short distance was usually so pointless he couldn’t remember ever doing it before, but if it was holy fire, he should be able to teleport into the hall. Right? “Completely fine.” He muttered under his breath as his vessel stayed firmly resting on the same patch of faded carpet. He was feeling genuinely unnerved now, but entered the hallway without hesitation, only stopping once he was a few feet in. Steve wasn’t kidding. There really were hundreds...no...thousands....no....how many doors were there? All identical, down to the pattern of the wood, which should really have been impossible. “My name is Castiel.” The angel answered, pleased with himself for remembering that that was an invitation to give his own name. “That is...a lot of doors.”

mintedstar/fur(Yea, i don’t have any room ideas if ya wanna choose) Matteo smiled and quickly began following her towards the hallway. “Great! And yeah I’ll pick a room, I just hope it’s a fun one,” the boy muttered. He entered the hallway and looked around, and after a few moments he finally headed up to one. He grabbed the handle and paused, growing a little nervous. The last few rooms he had been in had been pretty scary- things always seemed to be chasing the blinkers or trying to kill them. “I-I hope this one is fine!” He muttered as he opened the door, but nothing could be seen past the thick fog.

The Doctor slowly walked through the doorway and then frown as everything around her shifted. That didn't just include the scenery. It also included her outfit. She looked down at the dress. Hum. She'd never really been one for dresses, but it seemed to be part of the 'room'. The walls were stone and she'd pretty quickly recognized it as a castle. The door seemed to have taken them out into a hallway, but down the hall she could see a room full of brightly colored tapestries and in the other direction was a stone staircase winding upwards and downwards. There was a thin window that way as well and she could look out on a light drizzling of wind. "A castle," she said to Matteo. "Medieval Europe, Earth, I'm assuming from the outfits." She pointed at what he was wearing. "I wonder if there's anyone here ..."

Matteo had stepped into the room behind her, taking in the scenery. This place was huge! He glanced over at The Doctor and what she was wearing before looking down at what he was wearing. “Huh, well this is weird,” he muttered softly. He looked up again and ran straight for the window by the staircase, cupping his hands up against it as he peered through. “Well I don’t know if we can get outside, but it looks nice out there!” The boy carefully took a step back and began following the staircase up, but then he paused and turned around. “Oh um, I’m sorry, I should probably let you go first,” Matt muttered softly. He jumped down the few stairs to the flat ground and ran back over towards her. “I wouldn’t want to get lost here.”

"I'd love to get lost," admitted The Doctor. "But it'd probably be better to get lost together, yes?" She smiled brightly and started ascending the stairs, checking behind her to see that Matt was following. The stone was cold, and the castle didn't exactly have any heating. Outside, the rain was probably lowering the temperature as well. "We might be able to go out if we can find a door," pointed out The Doctor as she slowly moved up the last couple steps onto the next floor. Or rather, they seemed to be in a tower and this was the top. She looked out of these windows and then straight ahead again, at the door to what was probably a bedroom beyond. "Hum. Should we knock?" she asked. "It is a tower, after all. It's either see if someone's on the other side or goin' back down."
