A comic shiver of surprise ran up Czes from his toes to the top of his head and he shied away from his peer on instinct. Oh. Dipper probably wasn’t someone to worry about. Just as he thought this, the other blinker confirmed it by using his fabricated name. His dark eyes couldn’t help but be drawn curiously to the book. If he didn’t know better, he might say it looked like a book of spells or an artifact of somekind, inherently intriguing by the importance with which it was handled and the curling of the aged edges. In fact, Czeslaw was leaning forward to investigate it enough that he was no longer really ‘back there’ per se. “Nothing,” he said to hopefully excuse himself. “...What is that you’re holding?” he continued, apparently unable to contain the question even with all the might in his jaw. With the feeling that it was a secret, his thoughts were subconsciously drawn to the secrets of his own. He cast a glance in Myrnin’s direction, wondering if it would be safe to be friends with a vampire or if such a relationship would make him a target for the others.

Czeslaw gave Dipper a sidelong look, blatantly suspicious that the journal would just disappear. "I've been coming here a long time," he revealed, "and I've never seen that happen before." He humored the other blinker by answering his question, though. "Long enough to watch a fight." The story was right in front of Dipper: the adults nearby, having climbed and jumped over bumper cars to wave their weapons and their fists at each other, and Czeslaw safe at his own base, the green striped car. "It seems like some people don't want to get along around here." The statement was nearly a question, suggesting that he wanted to know if Dipper was going to be someone who did or did not want to get along. Just when it seemed like maybe the boy had forgotten: "Why don't you want me to see that book?"

"Probably not long," said Myrnin to Chamomile, blinking owlishly. "She's always blinking in. I think she just does it so she can use me for target practice." Which was fine. He didn't mind. He looked at the couch, slightly miffed the House hadn't left her around to finish what she was going to say or so Myrnin could have grilled her more about her world. Still, he'd make sure to remember his questions and try again next time. She wasn't going to get away from him forever. She'd have to tell him what she was doing. The vampire yawned, forgetting about Nore for the time beings and picking up one of her loose candy wrappers. "Litter, litter," he tisked, sticking it into his pockets. He looked over his shoulder at Chamomile, asking, "So how are you doin-" Then he was cut off as he blinked out (with the candy wrapper because Mint's letting him take something to remember Nore by! Even if it's trash ... which is probably a metaphor ...)
(Personal note because it's the only way I'm going to keep track of anything: Reply to Echo, reply to Hawk, reblink Myrnin into Bumper Car room if needed.)

strider ) Matt narrowed his eyes, bringing a hand to his chin in thought as he took in Nico’s suggestions. Wishing for completely insane things sounded like it could be hilarious - could the House really mess up something completely illogical? ”Key...hang on, I think you’re onto something...maybe we have to beat the House at its own game?” he suggested, eyeing the frozen tablecloth as the gears slowly began to turn in his mind. “So, say we needed to set a table. We’d need a tablecloth, but now, we’d also need a way to get the tablecloth out of the ice. So, we’d need a flamethrower, or something. He turned to Nico, gaining speed. “So what if that’s what we gotta do with getting out? What we need is to get out, so, what if what we have to do is figure out how to make an exit we can use? Maybe all this is just a big brain teaser. We ask for a door, the door’s messed up somehow, somwe make a new one, or we fix the one we get. Trial and error. It should work eventually, right?” Lark ndjfnfnc no worries!! I’ve been taking my time on replies too tbhhh) Matt watched Joey as he began to explore, noting that the other was less surprised than he’d expected. Maybe, like he’d originally thought, things were pretty similar in his world. Or maybe he was just not the type to be easily rattled. ”Does look that way, doesn’t it?” he agreed, strolling along a few feet behind his new companion as he took in his surroundings. “Awfully spooky, isn’t -“ He broke off with a snort that turned into a full-on cackle as Joey spoke the words ‘booboo the fool’ out loud. He hadn’t heard any cultural references he recognized since he started blinking here...that was different. “Sorry, I just...man, you really just said...” He wheezed for a moment, containing himself, then trotted briskly ahead to catch up, vaguely scandalized to notice that Joey hadn’t bothered to read the paper. He read it, of course - did the guy have no sense of curiosity? ...Okay, so it wasn’t very informative. Ride the ride ahead and discover your next clue, was all it said. So this was some kind of puzzle...? ”Pretty much, yeah,” he said, dragging his attention back to Joey’s question. “It likes to drag us through the mud. Make us do stuff like solve puzzles or beat a monster. It’s kinda like we’re in a video game, actually - gotta make the protagonist do something interesting so the player doesn’t get bored.”

Luck wasn't in his favor in this blink but was it ever? "The house changes the rules up once in awhile." Dipper persisted as he felt Czes' attention becoming too sharp on the journal. None of the blinkers here were less gullible than your average tourist, underestimating others was his achilles heel if you wanted to go that far. The young man's curiosity drifted to the riveting sight of a usual tuesday evening - the mystery shack had seen worse days than this. At such a sight he sunk his hand into his pocket sticking it in slowly. A dead giveaway, yes, but there was no fooling someone like the kid in front of him. "When you mention it, yeah, fighting won't matter when you're going to see them later, logically speaking?" He mumbled in agreement turning his sleep-deprived gaze away from the scuffle. He curled his hand into a protectively over the accursed book when the last question was dropped, "The same reason you probably don't want others to know the secrets you have." He pointed out with a cautioning tone not long after he continued what could be interpreted as an offer the immortal couldn't refuse. Many had taken interest in the author's underrated work, very few stuck around to finish the entirety of its contents. Why cough up the secrets if you were just going to use it for a sick curiosity that resulted in potential atrocities? "Whatever dirt you have - I have no idea what it has to do with the unnatural but if you're that interested - you'll know what it hides!" If you live long enough to see it.

"Hum?" said Maladict, thinking about it. He hadn't been asked about the rooms very often. "I've only been in a couple," he reluctantly admitted. "They're alright. A couple have coffee." He seemed to brighten at this statement, as if it was one of the better things about a room. "You haven't been in any? We could go into one if you wanted." He hadn't been heavily advised about whether that was wise or not. It seemed like perfectly reasonable idea to him. Maybe he'd get an excuse to ask what karma was ... “I’ve been in a couple of rooms.” Kelsier corrected the vampire, thinking back to the lodge. “One of them had a lot of good food.” He had been warned about the rooms, but only briefly, and he was definitely not one to play on the safe side. Besides, the only rooms he’d been in had been kind of fun, not at all dangerous, so he had his suspicions about those warnings. He didn’t really think he’d been lied to, but he also knew he was a lot more capable than most people were, so he wasn’t that worried about it. “Certainly.” He agreed, and started for the hall. Somehow, it always looked bigger than he’d remembered it. The mistborn glanced at Maladict, a playful expression twisting one side of his mouth up in a sideways smile. “Care to do the honors, Mal?” The vampire allowed his hand to rest on the nearest door handle. He blinked once, trying to think back to if he had ever opened a room before or not. He didn't really like that he had. He pushed the door open, looking back at Kelsier to make sure he was following before stepping across the threshhold. He was at once faced with trees larger than he'd seen before and most of which weren't even close to native on the Disc. He turned slowly, eyebrows rising. "Weird," he muttered. "I'm not into botany ... but this is weird. Is this size normal in trees for you?" (I was just trying to remember if there were any rooms left by the wayside but gave up and dropped them in Echo's forest room that currently going on.)

(Alright! When I can think of something to add further/what to do with the 'ghost wolves' I will. ) Vanessa hardly saw how he'd gotten her into this mess. It was a room. They were all chaotic and vaguely dangerous at best. She just would have preferred someone offering better help than he currently was. She had learned something however. He didn't seem to be the most familiar with sleeping darts, so she could probably assume he wasn't resistant to them. There could always be a little accident later on. Though she didn't think this guy had much information that she could use. "Idiot," she muttered as he moved away without letting her protest. She stood straight, eyeing the invisible creatures. There were about twelve of them, including the one which she'd already knocked out. Astolfo probably wasn't going to die. People like him tended to be lucky ... it was the only reason they were still alive. She was tempted to leave him to it, but if this said luck failed than she would have gained a new asset for nothing. She sighed, inserting another dart into her blowgun. Shooting him now would almost be easier. She aimed ... and then fired at the invisible pair of eyes that looked like it was going to be the next to jump at Astolfo. Some of the indivisible creatures turned back toward the trees, apparently splitting their attention. "What you need to do," Vanessa shouted to Astolfo. "Is to stop them following us. Realistically easy ... you don't talk to them, you just incapacitate them! You can fly ... they cannot. Now, if you consider carefully is there a way you can use that?" Her voice dripped with sarcasm. He'd been the one to choose to enter the room, hence why he thought that was the case. Astolfo let out a sigh when Vanessa decided to stick around and chat instead of running. He was well aware of his own lack of sense, but he was starting to wonder about her as well when she herself started stating the obvious. "I know that! What did you think I was going to do?" The creatures still targeting him all started to rush him at once, forcing the Servant to return his full attention to dodging them so he didn't get a set of teeth to the face. "Unless you'd be okay with me possibly ruining your eardrums, or something even worse, I can't get rid of them while you're still here!" He had the perfect weapon to deal with this situation, but he wasn't sure it'd be safe for him to use with the other blinker nearby. Especially since she was only human... Originally, the plan had been to distract the monsters so Vanessa could get away, then unleash that move to get rid of the threat all together, although she was making that a bit tough. Just managing to float out of the way of another attack, Astolfo reached down and pulled the black horn off his belt and held it out. "La Black Luna!" Upon it's True Name being called, the horn began to glow, then increase in size as it wrapped around its owner's body. Once the light faded, it had almost completely changed shape, now resembling a strange hybrid of a French horn and a trombone. Hopefully Vanessa got the message by now, because he was getting ready to use it. ( Dx It ate my reply!) There was a brief, rather original curse before Vanessa started running. She didn't look back, but she couldn't help thinking how annoying it was that someone like Astolfo could have magical abilities and objects with that ... mind. She jumped from tree limb to tree limb, the distance sometimes no more than a few inches. The trees were closely spaced together and were taller than ones she had seen in Fablehaven or other preserves. Sometimes branches were as wide as sidewalks. After she'd counted down several seconds under her breath and ran as best she could using the trees without risk of breaking her neck she stopped, tucking herself into a crook of a branch and pressing both hands over her ears. Astolfo better not get himself killed. She didn't have a lot of resources in this place and she wanted to see if she could somehow use his magic ...

(Ouch. Sorry that happened. >.<) Astolfo heard Vanessa finally make a break for it, an excited grin spreading across his face despite the bombardment of attacks still being thrown at him by the 'ghost wolves'. "Time for the next show!" He yelled at his attackers, starting to taunt them again. From the sound of it, he was trying to be dramatic, but in reality he was giving his fellow blinker just a few extra seconds to get further away. "This one goes out to all of you! Get ready to be knocked dead by my performance!" That wasn't a joke either... Figuring Vanessa was far enough away by now, the Servant put his mouth to the end of the instrument and activated it's Noble Phantasm just as he was about to be swarmed by the rest of the monsters. A shockwave of blue light shot forth from the horn in an explosion of noise. When it hit the monsters it instantaneously vaporized them, although it was a bit hard to tell since you couldn't see them... The shockwave tore through the area around it's source for almost half a mile, clearing that patch of forest of all it's foliage. And as fast as it came, it faded, leaving only a loud noise sounding throughout the area. It's purpose done, the horn dematerialized in it's wielder's hands and returned to it's original place one his hip. "Hope you all enjoyed the show!" Astolfo chimed happily, giving a showy bow to the empty air around him. "Sadly I won't be doing any encores. This one was a killer!" The trees around him would have probably agreed, considering they were all stripped bare now, making them look dead. The forest floor was now exposed to the full light of the moon, it's light like a curtain dropping on the end of a performance.

Blinking messages. The thought almost made Noctin laugh. "So the House is like a phone, and we're the messages," he said, a grin breaking across his face. He liked that analogy. It made them seem more personal and important to each other. "So phones are mostly just for communication?" he asked, deciding that was about as close to understanding. They seemed to be having trouble explaining it without examples, so he wouldn't push it anymore. A faint wish to be able to keep the picture too sparked in his chest, though he knew it was impossible. Unless the House decided to give him a painting, he wouldn't get one. As Eises offered her phone, he took it, poking curiously at the tiny square. Sure enough, it enlarged to fill the whole screen. "Hey that's Hyacin!" he exclaimed, smiling at the picture of the blue dragon that loved to chew on his arm. He hadn't seen him in awhile, but it was good to know the dragon was happy. "Exactly!" Rae agreed with Noctin. That was kind of a fun way to look at it. She watched as Noctin examined the phone, glancing at the screen to see the picture of a dragon she was unfamiliar with. She checked her phone again, switching from the camera to her album app. Yep, all her pictures were there. She scrolled a bit, going past the scenery and food shot until she found one of her and Janelle.
She looked back up when Eises mentioned the cabinets again. "Maybe more equipment?" Rae guessed. Thinking no to how the walls were she could assume this was the House's way to give them a sort of photo studio. She stepped over to a different one they hadn't opened and found shelves of tripods and monopods folded inside. "Oh, neat!" Eises had to tilt her head, she had never thought of it that way before, but Noctin wasn't entirely wrong either. "Somethin' like that." Though messages stayed in the system forever, even if you delete them. Evina was able to show her than even after being deleted, there was always a way to get them back. Blinkers on the other hand, didn't stay in House permanently. She did have to wonder if there were people that don't blink at all anymore. The wolf almost forgot that Noctin knew her son. "Yeah, he likes it when I take pictures of him." The little one was quite photogenic. "Maybe you can see him again sometime, his last blink wasn't too long ago." From what he told her, he had a snowball fight at the lodge. Her ears then flattened a little, anticipating whenever Noctin would run into the pictures of Evina. She had way more of Evina than of Hyacin at this point. The questions will be inevitable. She had to wonder if Noctin or Rae were the teasing type like her brothers. "Maybe!" She replied to Rae and watched as Rae dug through those stands they placed cameras on. Wanting to do some exploring herself, Eises found another cabinet nearby that remained unopened. She approached and opened the drawers curiously. Expecting to see more camera equipment, she was taken by surprise when she saw...hats? There were hats of all different kinds. She checked another drawer, and saw different types of sunglasses. Another drawer, and she found coats and other clothes. She blinked several times, what exactly were these for?

Timewarped!Astolfo appeared into the living room, face lit up with a carefree smile. He wasn't wearing his normal garb this time, but instead his favorite casual outfit. Before blinking in, he'd been exploring a new town, and he couldn't really strut around in public wearing what he normally did. When the Servant noticed his blink, his smile faltered ever so slightly, until he saw the other man standing off to the side. It was another stranger, like the one he'd met last time he'd been summoned here. That wasn't surprising, but after learning what he had about this place, part of him hoped he might see a familiar face someday. "Heeey!" He called to the new guy, rasing an arm and giving him a few excited waves. Without hesitation he quickly got closer, coming to a stop barely a foot away. The other blinker was quite tall, so Astolfo had to tilt his head back a bit so he could see his face. Before the Servant could introduce himself, his attention was grabbed by the man's white hair, which reminded him of Saber. And were those... "Ah! Are those horns?" He asked, pink eyes widening in suprise. "Thats so cool!" He'd seen people with animal parts before, but not horns. Without thinking, he stood up on his tip toes to try and touch them, his curiosity getting the best of him.

Will stood up shakily, making eye contact with Dipper for a few moments before he looked down at the ground, uncertain what to make of the other boy. Somehow, the House had decided to let him have the worst possible first impression with someone who actually seemed to be around his age and could potentially be a friend. Gee, thanks, House. "Hey," Will replied quietly, hesitating for a moment. He knew it was polite to shake hands with people when you first met them but he had never done that with any of his actual friends, so would it be weird now? He pushed the thought away. "I'm Will. What's your name?"

Only the idiot trio at the Mulidais greeted him so happily... oh and Hyac. "Er- uh..." The snake was caught completely off guard by the socialable girl. He nearly dropped his cigarette when she started to reach for his horns. They twitched furiously as the other blinker's fingers neared, but Julius didn't move and let her touch them. Finally, he answered her, "Y-Yeah? They're horns..." If this blinker was like anyone else, she'd probably find them cute, much to his dismay. He hated how small his horns were. His cheeks couldn't help but turn pink in embarrassment.

"I understand how repetitive this may sound, but my sincere thanks." Elliot took in a deep breath, then exhaled, his muscles retracting from being so tense. He stood in the center of the room, in casual wear; a dark red tunic with black trousers and leather boots, sliding his boots along the ground he closed his eyes hearing a rather soft giggle. How I wish for this moment to last... He lifted his left arm, pulling in his forearm where two knitted scarfs rested, "You must excuse my ignorance however, for I don't think making these were necessary." He kept his eyes closed, listening to her move around the room. He awaited a response, using his senses to follow her movements, and then everything just went silent. He couldn't help but twitch, as her presence had suddenly vanished from his peripheral. Shutting his eyes tighter he couldn't help but produce a vibrant sound of frustration. Opening his eyes he found himself back in the other world where individuals could be pulled in from any time and place. He stood upright, looking slightly down as it took a moment for his sight to adjust to the lighting. --cato phoenix

Astolfo froze mid-reach for a second when the horns started twitching. Okay that was definitely a first, horns weren't supposed to move, at least not any he'd ever heard of before. The action almost weirded him out enough to stop him from going through with touching them, but he had already set his heart on doing so, so he did it anyway. The Servant gently squeezed them a few times, then backed off. They felt like horns alright, nothing else strange there. "You're so lucky! I bet people find those really neat. I know I do!" As he returned to his previous position, he noticed that the other blinker was blushing. "Oh? Did I make you uncomfortable? Sorry about that!" Astolfo replied, giving Julius a sheepish smile and reaching up to rub the back of his head. "I probably should have at least introduced myself first, right?" He seemed completely oblivious to the fact it probably would have still been awkward anyway, which was the norm for him. Just like the first blink, he jumped right into his introduction without thinking of what information he should or shouldn't reveal. "My Servant Class is Rider, and my True Name is Astolfo! One of the Twelve Paladins of Charlemagne!" He pointed to himself proudly while talking. "What about you? What's yours?"
