“Well come on then,” came the grumble from inside the red jacket. Nore huffed, letting out a extra cloud of steam from her mouth before letting go of her collar to grab the door handle. She half pushed, half kicked it open and tumbled inside. “Anyway, what’ve you been up to these days?” The girl asked only after waiting for Chamomile to follow her inside, turning to face the other blinker halfway. Her tone was passive, and it said she wasn’t really interested but was asking anyway. Almost like a routine for a friend. She already strayed to the table of snacks and geared herself back up, throwing a couple of small, brittle cookies into her mouth at once and pouring some hot chocolate while she chewed.

Auransky --cato phoenixKid spluttered, shaking snow out of his hair in a hurry, before it started to melt and get him wet (or more wet. The snowball fight had taken care of that.) "I don't know," he said with a grin. "But I think we better find him before he sets up another 'trap' like that." He nodded to where he thought he'd heard Elliot. He didn't say anything and instead tossed several snowballs in that direction. He hadn't seemed to be holding any a second before, but a simple parlor trick like distracting from their creation was easy. This attack never got to see completion, at least not in a sense Kid hoped for, because he blinked out. And then blinked in again, still in the same clothing he had been wearing before, but this time appearing in the living room. "House!" he accused. "That was the most motivated I've felt here in two years! You might have let me beat the newbies!"

Ougi blinked into the living room, one hand held up to her chin to half-hide her smile. The cuff on the sleeve of her pink school uniform spilled over her fingers as always. "No. The correct response is that you should change your answer. The percentages have actually changed-" She was quiet in that moment, eyes taking a moment to slide into a different direction and observe the rest of the room. Her head hardly moved at all. "Well hello..." It was as though she were speaking to the Paradox House itself then; in fact, there was no doubt about it. She wore a sinister look, finally lowering her hand to reveal it and letting herself step forward to reach the middle of the room. "Should I wait here? Should I go into a room? Decisions, decisions..." The student swayed from side to side, both hands together now and her shoulders and feet refusing to stay still in her contemplation.

Decisions, decisions..." The student swayed from side to side, both hands together now and her shoulders and feet refusing to stay still in her contemplation. "Yes, and the droll part of it all was that it wasn't even his head!" said Maladict, a small smile twitching at his lips as he talked to Oliver. The smile twitched a little when he realized he'd have to repeat himself when he blinked back to Borogravia. He glanced over at Ougi, eyebrows arching, as he adjusted his hold on his coffee cup. He took a sip as he watched her move, the eyebrow still arched. He'd been talking about Igor, but something in this blinker's movements practically reminded him of an Igor. It was just slightly reminiscent of it. "Hello," he greeted, lowering the cup. "Who are you?"

Ougi's eyes honed in on Maladict, but it simultaneously seemed like she wasn't looking at him at all. Like she wouldn't even bother spending the time. She looked down at his coffee cup to break the tension. "Oh. Coffee?" It was her response to 'who are you?'. She parted her hands from in front of her, and drew her forearms together behind her back now, her overextended sleeves still visible flopping around in the spaces below her shoulders. The skirt of her uniform swayed as she started to stretch out her legs again in a smooth stroll--a stroll closer to the other blinker. "You must be newer around here." There was a certainty in her statement, as if she were Sherlock now and could decipher it just from sensory clues. But her method was much less fascinating, as her only way to confirm it was by asking. "...Are you?"

"Nice to meet you," said Maladict, as if the answer of coffee had actually been her name. "And yes, it is coffee." He tilted the cup enough for her to see the contents, as if he needed to prove it. He didn't seem phased by her general walking and acting. This was the sort of thing his family really wasn't supposed to be surprised at. "I'm new," he confirmed. "And you? You aren't, I take it." He nodded around at the surrounding room. "You are not from my world either, I take it. No one ever is. Are you at least from a normal shaped planet? I have to ask ... we're going to get there sooner or later and I'd rather not be surprised."

Ougi stood there rather emotionless while Maladict tilted the cup to assure her, and confirmed that he was in fact new. “You could be new compared to me, or it is possible you are not. Time may not move the same way here. But for all intents and purposes, I accept my position as your elder here.” Only a hair flip could have given the sentence the attitude it needed. “I am from a normal shaped planet called Earth. It is actually extraordinarily normal shaped, come to think of it. More than you would expect, even,” she insisted to him. What he said next caught her interest though. She paused in order to register and re-register the statement, currently just inches away from him and standing on her toes, as if trying to reinforce the idea that she was this newcomer’s elder. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion. “What do you mean by, ‘going to get there’?”

Like a curious fox watching the hen strutting inside the less than glamorous hen house did the wildclaw follow. Her steps began to drag more as they both squirreled their way inside the hollow lodge. Unlike the other blinker, Chamomile twisted her speckled tail as if had a mind of its own, squirming to slip away without causing more unnecessary disruptions than needed. "My world has been busy - I look different now. Not like before." She shuddered her large, white wings tucking them into the sides as she positioned herself not that far from Nore's hearing range.

(Hmm... yall think I should move Arlo straight to the living room from the lodge, or send her back to her world first so her plot can get moving? I was thinking about waiting a little longer, but I'd like to get her a bit further into her plot before all the newbies start blinking in.)

"Oh, do you? Why bother telling me?" Nore was mumbling through the cookies, crumbs shooting out from her mouth. Before she had even finished chewing them, she was gulping hot chocolate to wash it down. She paused before her second drink, almost as if she had seen something that distracted her. But the moment past and she tipped the bottom of the mug. "My world's been busy too. I've got so much stuff to do," she sighed, half-dejected and half-eager. She had taken Chamomile's business as a challenge. She had the setting in mind for her show, she just needed to get all the characters into place. She smirked and tapped her fingers on the table where she stood, one after the other to count to herself. It was her way of being prepared for when she blinked out.

He had no idea what she meant by extraordinarily, but he let it go without question. "And all I meant was sooner or later I'd end up saying something you found unusual and then it would come back to what planet I'm from. I'm Maladict, by the way. Maladict wondered if this was grounds to like them all just because his father and mother would hate them.

(Timewarping Mini Arlo for Stri~) [[ Living Room || Mini Arlo 2 || strider ]] "-going on?" whispered Arlo as she blinked in, sitting on the floor. The girl had returned to her world for less than a minute before she found herself in the living room again. She looked around for Kid, half expecting him to still be there since she'd just blinked out, but the room appeared to be empty now. Frowning slightly she got to her feet. Was there even a reason for the House had blinked her in now? No one was there, and though she'd only been in her world for a few seconds, it had seemed like something wasn't quite right.

[[ Living Room || Mini Arlo 2 || strider ]] "Hmm?" Arlo, who had started examining a nearby bookcase, turned as she heard a young voice from somewhere behind her. "Oh, hi!" she replied quickly as her gaze landed on the blinker who'd spoke, a boy who she was pretty sure she hadn't seen before. A new blinker perhaps, or someone who hadn't been blinking much recently? "You new here? I'm Arlo." The girl started to shake his hand, but flinched and quickly pulled her hand back again, her bright green eyes widening. Her new powers had seemed to become more manageable since she'd gotten them before the forest room, and the snowball fight earlier had made it easier to ignore the fact that she wasn't exactly 'normal' anymore. Apparently she could feel energy as well as see it sometimes. "S-sorry," she said quickly, sounding a bit worried. "I didn't shock you or anything did I?"

"Are you okay?" Combeferre gasped, his blue eyes widening with concern. "I didn't hurt you or anything, did I?" He took a tiny step back, obviously worried. Then when she apologized, he frowned slightly and shook his head. "I... I'm okay," he replied with what he hoped was a reassuring smile. He almost held his hand out to shake again, but stopped himself before he could. "Delighted to meet you, Arlo! My name is Combeferre." He had decided firmly that that was the name he would give here. His father had of course warned him about stranger danger, and he figured if he just gave his family name instead of his first name, it would work out well. Besides, his father had people who just called him "Combeferre," and Ferre didn't see why it couldn't just be the same for him.

[[ Living Room || Mini Arlo (timewarped) || strider ]] Arlo shook her head quickly at his worried reaction. "N-no, I'm fine! I just have this thing that... Well I don't really understand it yet." It wasn't much of an explanation, but she really didn't know how she could explain it. It was definitely true that she didn't understand it. "Oh good," she replied, managing to smile slightly in relief. She wasn't sure yet how, or if, her powers could affect others. "Sorry I startled you... It's nice meet you too, Combeferre! Have you blinked in many times? I don't think I've seen you here before."

"Yeah," Arlo agreed, scooping up another handful of snow. She was just about to throw it when her surroundings changed and she found herself facing not the bushes where she'd suspected the other blinker was hiding, but a wall. "Aw come on!" she protested. "You couldn't even wait a few more minutes to change back?" The girl sighed and tossed her last snowball at the wall before turning away and glancing around the living room. It looked about the same as always, which would have been okay with her if they hadn't been in the middle of a game. "Well, that was fun until someone decided to interrupt," she muttered glumly. At the word 'someone' she shot another glare at the wall, where bits of snow were now sliding to the floor.

Kid stepped over the back of the couch and perched on the armrest, smiling just a little as it turned out Arlo was just as annoyed as he was. "I do have to wonder if 'someone' is relevant or whether the House can't be consider a 'one.'" But he shrugged one shoulder. It was the sort of question he would have liked to bug the elder-Arlo about. But he wasn't going to get a chance. He glanced around again, back at the sludgy pile of snow which Arlo had thrown. mintedstar/fur --cato phoenix Elliot couldn't help but stand up, revealing to be hiding in the bushes across from the tree trunk. He was wearing a long mid elbow tunic, with black tights. He had a hand over his mouth to conceal his laugh, but it was too amusing to see the two coated in snow. That was not bad... shaky but okay. He turned his head to see the two, or at least now one. Kid blinked out... as he took a step forward Mini-Arlo blinked out too. Oh gods... He quickly rushed at full force towards the tree to retrieve his Kimmono skirt, long sleeve, and scarf. In reality his hand was extending for the scarf, his heart racing. Reaching the end of the scarf he gasped realizing that he fully threw himself in the tree's way. Then he blinked back into the living room, his shoulder smashing aggressively against the wall. He fell to the ground upon impact, "tch...." He muttered pulling the scarf closer to him.

mintedstar/fur(The fun continues) Movement across the snow-filled quarry from another's perspective couldn't have been able to tell you how the wildclaw ran from one point to another. Though that couldn't be said for the flustered reindeer, much less for the one occupying space near the Narcoblix. What would happen next would be hard to recall for later times, neither of the blinkers could have predicted the sound of hoofs pounding on a solid surface. What would follow was something peculiar. Now laid beside Vanesa was the now unconscious body of Salsa.

{What a wonderful drawing ;o; } "If you say so." Eises took her coat off and tossed it to the freezing boy. "I'd offer my shirt but I don't have anymore layers, sorry." She laughed sheepishly. Her shirt was also quite warm, once again as part of her endurance training with her magic. She decided to tone down the air-conditioner-like air that she gave off. It was back to the levels of a normal ice-user, but to her, it was a rare sight to feel it so low and warmer than what she usually gave off. It felt a little strange. She couldn't help but grin when Noctin came to look at her phone. She had to move her head to the side, as Noctin's was taking up all her space and she couldn't see the full screen thanks to his head. "It does other stuff, like send messages and goin' on the internet, but it looks like the House only wants it to take pictures today." She was slightly thankful it didn't allow her to go on her browser. She still didn't know much about the internet and probably wouldn't be able to answer Noctin's inevitable questions. It was something Evina always nagged her to use more, so maybe she would once she returned home. "Here, watch this." Eises lifted her hand a bit and tapped the corner of the screen that had two arrows whirling around each other, and within a second the screen showed off the front-facing camera. She gave a toothy grin before pressing the button on the side of the phone, making sure all three of them were in the photo. "And look look!" She tapped on a different corner of the screen, and the phone brought up the picture. "Film?" Noctin echoed, trying out the strange word. He nearly dropped the camera as the coat was tossed on him. Clumsily snagging it before it fell to the ground, he awkwardly placed the camera and loose film back on the counter, then put the coat on. It was very long on him, nearly brushing the ground. Distantly, he noted that it smelled vaguely dog-like. Hopefully the scent wouldn't cling when he blinked out. Still, it was immediately warm and very much appreciated. "This is good, thank you," he said, snuggling into it. "You can send messages with these?" he asked, blinking in surprise. How? There was no paper. Did they write something on the box and then deliver it to the recipient? "And what's internet?" Perking up, he looked at the screen, taking a tiny step back as he caught sight of his reflection. "Woah!" he gasped, eyes wide as she took the picture. "That's us!" he exclaimed, excitement sparking in his chest as he looked to Eises and Rae. Rae held back a laugh as Noctin's questions came in about the phone. It really was difficult to think of up explanations for someone whose world had no where near the level of technology that hers and Eises' did. "Yeah, you can write out a message on it and then it'll be instantly sent to the other person's phone," Rae said. "Er, you know how we blink and just pop into existence here, it's sort of a bit like that in how it seems. It'll just appear on their screen when you send it." If her cell had a keyboard she could have used that to show Noctin a bit more, but alas it was a normal touchscreen and was refusing to exit from the camera. And then she wasn't even going to attempt an internet description.
Rae glanced back up when Eises switched her phone camera to face them, and almost instinctively she threw up a peace sign for the picture. She grinned at Noctin's excitement, a small laugh finally escaping her. This was so endearing to see. "Looks pretty good for a first House selfie!" Rae pondered for a moment, head tilting just a bit. "Do you think it'll keep it after you blink out?"

Which is all on the Discworld. Uberwald is the one with the thunder ... werewolves ... old kingdom of the Dark?" He seemed to be testing things to try for some sort of recognition. But it was hopeless. "Honestly ... I bet this place isn't even that dramatic." He glanced around then, apparently at random, shouted, "And there's the ... caaaaaastle!" He paused, listening, then sighed. "No. Just as I thought." "If we're going to develop the conversation like this, we might as well discuss that all that exists is relative." Ougi's shoulders tilted upward, then bowed in a smooth shrug. She shook his hand firmly--a little too firmly--and then released it, her well-oiled arm drawing her hand back to her side and against her skirt. "Thunder and werewolves? And... a castle? Hmm... this place seems like something out of a movie, doesn't it?" she asked, ironically to him. She didn't seem to give these names of places any thought, but in reality she was taking mental notes just in case the information would somehow be pertinent. The student spun around so that her back was to him now, and she took one thorough step forward before drawing her feet together again. She was gazing toward the door with a faint smile. "Have you seen the rooms, then?"

mintedstar/fur (The fun continues) Movement across the snow-filled quarry from another's perspective couldn't have been able to tell you how the wildclaw ran from one point to another. Heeeeeello!) "Damn," hissed Vanessa. She backed up, then leaped with far more agility than she'd seemed capable of before. Her hands wrapped around a tree branch, pulling herself upward until she was perched there. This was ... not going to be easy. She looked at the reindeer and sneered at them. Apparently with Salsa out for the count she didn't mind frowning too much. Her eyelids drooped suddenly, as if something she'd been holding back was catching up to her. She almost fell asleep on the branches of the tree, but before she did, she aimed a dart she'd somehow picked up, tossing it in the direction of the deer. It landed in Salsa's shoulder instead. Almost seemed like it was on purpose.
