Nore scrambled in the direction Myrnin told her and swept the bow and quiver up out of the snow with a splash. She loaded the weapon and held it aimed toward the vampire, before pausing and giving an almost flustered laugh. “Oh, yeah, the snowballs.” The girl readjusted her aim so that it was higher now. “Whaddaya mean? I’m a great shot!” She even leaned back slightly to seem a little more casual about it, arm still drawn back while she waited. “Just throw the damn snowball!” Her feet were apart, cowboy boots poking up out of the holes in the snow that they made. Her mouth became a flat line in concentration, sunglasses hiding much emotion. If she over thought it, it wouldn’t work at all-she was certain. "Yes," said Myrnin, rolling his eyes. "I would hate for you to put holes into yet another of my shirts." He waited for no more request to throw the snowballs other than what she said. He pulled back his arm and started to toss them toward her, aiming for her sunglasses. He was also perfectly prepared to step away, since even if she hit them, they were just snowballs. "Have fun!" he said, tossing the last one in the swift line before he dived toward the ground and out of the way, blurring so he kept ahead of the projectiles.

“That’s okay! I’ve played it like, dozens of times, so I can teach you.” He plopped himself down in the nearest chair, and spread out the deck of cards, scanning over them to see if any were missing. Near had recently borrowed them for some kind of casework, so you never know. Luckily, it looked like they were all there. “Okay, so to play, first I’m gonna deal you seven cards. Then, we’re gonna place the remaining cards in the middle - “ A flash, and a change in scenery. “ -and then - woah...” The scenery had changed completely as they’d been sucked into what appeared to be a new room. It was a rough, unfinished, underground cavern, lit by an unseen source that made the piles of gold, jewels, and expensive tapestries shine with vibrant colors all around them. In the middle of the room was a single scroll, displayed on a polished wooden stand. “Well, uh...rain check on the card game, I guess,” said Matt, feeling around and realizing that his cards had vanished.

Eises thought Noctin was looking into it a bit too much, she just saw it more of just people with power being assholes. "If you say so." She replied to Rae. "I dunno much about how school works, and you know more than I do." She remembered Evi also getting upset at her for not understanding, so clearly it was something she wasn't getting. Taking a few more cookies and some candy, Eises munched away as she chose one of the doors and saw that it led to the hallway. Good, she didn't pick the one that led outside. "I hope it's a good one..." Her mouth was still full when she spoke. The hallway was also decorated and unusually bright. She didn't understand why everything had to be red, green, and white. She did have to wonder, if the living room and hall were winter-based right now, would the rooms be too? Or was it still completely random? Quickly finishing the rest of the snacks, wishing she took the whole bowl, the wolf opened one of the decorated doors. Still a void... Looking back momentarily to see if the other two were still following her, she flicked her tail and walked inside. Noctin didn't really understand school in the sense they were talking about either, so he decided to drop it for now. Well, not quite yet. "Do you think you could bring a college book in?" he asked Rae curiously as they followed Eises. It probably wouldn't be easy to read. She had said college was a later kind of school, which probably meant the books would be harder. He hadn't seriously read anything in a long time, and even then his literacy skills were focused mainly in the medical terminology of Cierro. Still, he was pretty sure he could figure it out. The idea of being able to read something that wasn't from his world was exciting. Rae gave a small shrug and then looked back at Noctin, brows raised. "Oh, sure. I seem to mostly blink in when I'm studying anyway," she said. What kind of book would be good to show Noctin? Maybe he'd be interested in some history to see how different their worlds really were. Or English, though she wondered if the House would just translate everything for him.
Rae paused her thoughts and came to a stop behind Eises as she picked a door. "I have a good feeling today." Hopefully that wouldn't jinx anything. She couldn't see anything from here, so once the other girl had stepped in, Rae followed suit, heart beat quickening just slightly. It really had been awhile since she had gone through a door.

Rex studied the stars peeking down at them through the trees. "You can usually tell what part of the galaxy you're in based on how the stars are arranged. Like if we were on Ryloth, Coruscant and the rest of the Core planets would be over there, but if we were in Hutt space they would be over there," he rambled off, gesturing lazily across the sky as he spoke. He let his hand drop back down to his chest. "But these ones are completely different." Which prompted the question of where, then, could they be that the stars looked like this? Or if they were even real? Perhaps it was all just an illusion and once he took his eyes off the sky, the stars would rearrange themselves. Touka, of course, recognized none of the planet names, but she followed Rex’s gestures anyway, curious to learn more about his world. The names were complicated and hard to pronounce, so she didn’t bother trying to copy what he said, but he tried to remember them regardless. Maybe she could ask about them later. ”Y’know, I’ve wondered about that, actually,” she said, in response to his last observation. “With stars, but with other stuff too, like the animals and plants we see here. Did the House make them up, or did it just borrow them from somewhere?” She took a slow breath, feeling the cold in her lungs before letting it out in a puff of condensation. “These could be someone else’s skies.”

A college book? Eises wasn't able to read at the college level, so Rae would have to teach them both. She was barely starting to understand high school-leveled books thanks to Evina. She wondered if she was able to bring in anything interesting, something that could actually work in the house. The house seemed to blink her in very randomly however, so that would be hard to do.
Once inside the room, Eises couldn't help but tilt her head. They were in a clearing, the walls had several...backgrounds? Were the walls painted? They were in sections it seemed, one section was decorated with a field, the other a lake, another section was painted as if it were an old-fashioned bar. She looked up to the ceiling, half-expecting that to be painted too. Instead, it appeared that it was made of ice. She did notice that was the room was considerably cooler than the lodge. Were they in an ice building? An ice cave with decorated rooms?
There was a big cabinet with several drawers by one of the walls. What could be in there?

Hearing Julia's open ended hello, he couldn't help but slightly nod in that direction , afterwords he returned his attention to the window. Watching the falling snow outside he listened to Maladict ramble at the paper. It was amusing to hear the solder react in such away, he wanted to laugh, however he refrained from doing so by keeping a calm yet serious composure. shortly after the paper episode does down, the solder requested introductions, he slowly turned his head towards the three with a soft gaze. "Cadis Estrama Di Raizel." He paused taking a brief sip of tea. "Call me Rai if you find it easier." He politely addressed the three, before returning his attention back to the window.

Nore started shooting arrows almost indiscriminately, having been so clear before about aiming for the snowballs and not Myrnin but now not seeming to follow those instructions at all. She fired numerous, too--far more than as if she were just accounting for the number of snowballs he had thrown. She got about four arrows in before there was so much snow in her face that she fell backward on one foot, body bent as she readjusted her arm and aimed straight for the vampire. As she released it into the air she raised her eyebrows high, twisting her face and flexing her arms and legs so that she could preserve the wacky position. No awareness of the bumbling tornado of arrows she had caused graced her expression. "Did I get any?"

Noctin grinned as Rae agreed. Hopefully it would be sooner than later. Following Eises into the room however, the smile quickly fell as the cold air breezed right through his clothes. "Damn House," he grumbled, wishing he had his cloak with him. Not that it would have done much, but it'd be better than nothing. Studying the different sections of the room, he wondered why it would be divided into different environments. Catching sight of the cabinets, he trotted over to them, figuring whatever they'd need to do would be in there. Opening it up, he found an arrangement of small boxes with cylinders sticking out of them. "What are these?" he asked, pulling one out to look at it.
--
The House plucked them from their worlds to come here, so what was stopping it from taking some animals and plants? Though he supposed if they were all stolen rather than generated, that would change how he viewed the House. Being able to create from nothing was godlike- but having to steal from worlds to power itself- now that certainly made the House not quite as all powerful as they assumed it to be. "I take it it's not your sky?" he said, not entirely serious as was told by the faint smile on his face as he flashed a glance over at her.

Nico leaned in, eager to learn the game when suddenly the House decided a better idea would be to just... transport them somewhere else. Probably somewhere else dangerous, which Nico was pretty ticked off about, but he didn't say anything. "I'll take you up on that rain check," he replied, standing up and moving towards the scroll. It looked ominous and not exactly something that should be touched or read. If he'd been in his world he would have stared up at the sky and issued a direct challenge to Apollo, but there was no convenient god to blame here. "I was looking forward to that card game," he admitted quietly, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. He wasn't quite sure what to expect here. It seemed... well, too good to be true, with gold and jewels... there was a trap somewhere. He'd learned a long time ago not to trust treasure. "Let's see what that scroll has to say."

"It feels pretty nice if you ask me." Not surprising, Eises was enjoying the weather. She looked over at the two and took off her white coat. "Which one of you need it more?" She didn't need it anyway, she only used that coat as part of her magic endurance training. Not doing it for a bit while in the house wouldn't hurt, as long she got it back before blinking out. Would it even blink out if she wasn't wearing it?
"Cameras?" That was a strange coincidence. She's never used a regular camera before, just the one on her phone. Only the record keepers in The Echo used regular cameras, and she wasn't a record keeper. Speaking of...She pulled out her device from her pocket. If the House was able to understand their photography speak...
She pressed the long button on the side of her phone, and the screen lit up, causing her to gasp. Instead of showing her home screen however, it instead immediately opened the camera app. Pressing the home button did nothing, so it seemed to be stuck on just the camera. "R-Rae! Do you have your phone with you?"

Arlo grabbed some more snow as she headed toward the tree, packing between her hsands. It appeared that Elliot had gotten tangled in the branches, making him an easy target. She glanced around to see where Kid had went, pointing to where the other blinker had trapped himself with one hand while getting ready to throw the snowball with the other.
The girl darted around the tree, tossing the snowball at her target as she went past... Wait. She skidded to a stop and turned to look at where she'd thrown the snowball, only to discover that Elliot wasn't actually there. "Huh?"

Matt sighed, giving a resigned shrug. “Me too. Oh well...the House can’t keep us from our fun forever.” He was vaguely distracted by the priceless artifacts everywhere - sure, 99% of him knew it was a catastrophically bad idea to try and take anything, but at the same time, a good 1% of him was thinking of all the high quality hardware he could afford if he pocketed even, like, a handful. Following Nico, he made his way over to the scroll, tilting his head curiously as he got near enough to read it. “‘Welcome, travelers’,” he began to read, pulling his goggles up onto his head so he could see more clearly. “‘To the Cave of Wishes. If there are things you desire...simply speak them out loud, and they will become yours. No matter how extravagant, or how humble your request...it will be done.’ Aaand, that’s all it says,” he finished, reaching up and scratching his head as he pondered the message. “Well, that’s like, the dictionary definition of ‘too good to be true’...”

Touka smiled back, shaking her head. “Definitely not. If it were mine...let’s see...there’d be some constellations visible, at least...the Little Dipper and Ursa Major, I know, but I was never super into space stuff, so I can’t tell you much more than that,” she admitted, with a dry laugh. “I never could find the constellations when Yoriko took me stargazing...it drove her crazy.” Thinking about Yoriko made her chest hurt, though, so she quickly moved on from that line of thought. “Moon’s the same, though,” she said, realizing Rex’s world may not even have the same moon or moons. Especially since it sounded like his society was fairly fluent in space travel. “Right where it should be.”

These were cameras? Noctin wondered, looking at the strange device. How did they work? They were just... boxes. How were you supposed to get the pictures out of them? "Aren't the pictures tiny?" he asked, trying to find a way to open one of them up. Finally finding a latch, he opened it up to find a cylinder with some thin, shiny paper in it. "What's this?" he asked, pulling the film out.
Hearing Eises, he looked up. He would really like the jacket if it was as warm as it looked. His gaze flickered over to Rae. But if she wanted it, he would let her have it. He'd be fine it was just a little lot cold, after all. His interest piqued as he caught sight of Eises's phone lighting up. So it did do things. Putting the camera back on the counter, he made his way over to study the strange glowing box.
--
Rex supposed that made sense. If one didn't need to travel through space, there wasn't much point in learning the stars. Especially with directional technology available. He wondered what it would be like, to be confined to one planet. He could hardly imagine it. Following her gaze to the moon, he studied it for a moment. Interesting. "The moons are usually different, depending what planet you're on. Some don't have any moons, and some are so massive they have dozens." But those were usually gas giants. Not exactly habitable by complex lifeforms. He was silent for a moment, then asked, "What's Earth like?" He'd heard many of the blinkers were from there, but he didn't know anything about the planet itself. Well. He knew it had one moon now.

strider Auransky"Maladict," greeted Maladict, dipping his head to Rai and then to Crutchie. The name that Rai gave caused him to arch an eyebrow. It was very familiar. Not the name itself, but it's length. He looked over at Raizel and asked, "Are you a vampire as well?" Maladict's name was actually a lot longer than what he gave. It was, in fact, a page and a half long when written down. He'd know ... he'd just had to write it down yesterday to enlist. Crutchie's explanation of newspapers still didn't explain much to him. He frowned at it, mystified. "Hum." Somehow, he felt it much have a use ... he supposed ... but he couldn't place how. "And why is it you carry so many?"

(wcf wont let me delete the box inside the quote box cries) Expecting him to kneel down and comfort the princess, Riliane grinned mischievously. Instead, her smile melted into a shocked frown when out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Hyac shift into a dragon form, raising his tail. She muttered a word that was unfit for an elegant ruler as she was suddenly coated in snow. "You daft peasant!" She huffed, "Is that how you comfort a crying lady?!"

Hyacindiemo watched over in satisfaction for a few seconds. Riliane's annoyance and frustration gave him glee. It was really funny to watch, and he mostly did it in an attempt to lighten her foul attitude. Part of it was also just him loving to mess around, it was in his nature to be playful. It was a trait he certainly got from his mother and uncles.
He trotted over to the angry lump covered in snow and reverted back to his semitheian form. His long tail vigorously wagged up and down, smacking continuously onto the ground. "You're like a grumpy snowman!" It wasn't until now that her comment registered in his mind. He tilted his head, "What, crying 'cause you got cold?" He teased before offering her a hand.

"I'm not crying!" Riliane quickly retorted and stuck out her tongue at Hyac's lighthearted teasing. She glared at his hand, hesitant to take it. What if it's some kind of trap? An irritated scowl etched on her lips, she took his hand and pulled herself up. "Finally you decided to act like a proper gentleman!" She scoffed as she brushed off the snow that clung onto her dress. "Anyways, I'm cold! You're a dragon, right? Can't you breathe fire?"

He didn't know if he'd expected Nore to actually aim for the snowballs or not, but this was about how he saw the outcome regardless. Now, he'd dodged most of them. She did get a few good shots in - whether she'd been aiming for him or not. One he swatted out of the air easily and a two others he broke mid-flight. Wooden projectiles weren't particularly deadly for him, just so long as Nore actually took them out of him if she did hit him in any way. He was hardly paying attention to if she'd hit a snowball and when he finally got a chance to check she decided to actually shoot at him. He swatted this arrow out of the air as well, catching it by the shaft and waving it between his fingers. "Nasty blighters," he said, amused. "Shoot themselves. Because I'm sure you didn't mean to shoot me. For old times sake and all that." He looked around at the ground. "You got four, I believe. Out of ... I think it was twelve? Perhaps out of eleven."

"Uuuuh huh." Hyacin wanted to agitate her more, but he did start to wonder what limits she had. She certainly wasn't dressed properly for this room, and he'd be surprised if she didn't catch a cold. He placed his finger on his chin in exaggerated thought, "How about we go inside that building?" He didn't know the word for lodge. It was the same building he was in in his last blink, right? "It's warmer in there." In the meantime, he lifted his hand and four small balls of green flame appeared closely around the princess. Immediately, the snow ontop of her started to melt.

"We suppose. It looks rather simple on the outside, but it shall do for now." Riliane nodded her head. The princess wished she could be in her lovely palace with her servants to tend her instead of some cabin designed for peasants, but she wasn't stubborn enough to stay outside in the cold. Joy twinkled in her eyes when Hyac conjured up numerous green flames around them to keep them warm. "Hm! Finally you do something useful instead of attempting to humiliate us," She commented as she headed towards the lounge. Perhaps her threats worked occasionally. "...but why is the fire green?"

Hyacin rolled his eyes. Any building with a roof was heaven for him...except Vantis' prison but he didn't want to remember that right now. He moved the flames along as they walked, careful not to burn the spoiled brat.
Had she never heard of green flame? Was it not a thing in her world or was she that much of a shut-in? "It's just the type of fire I can use. It's hotter than normal fire too." He said that last bit with pride. It was fun being able to overpower regular fire.
He opened the door to the lodge, wondering if he should give the princess the satisfaction of going first. Being too stubborn however, he entered before she did. He did take the time to to prop the door open with his hand though. The green flames disappeared, he didn't want the lodge burning down after all...if it even could.

As the man introduced himself, Raizel politely nodded in response. He took no notice of the man's shift in expression. His gaze was concentrated in the falling snow; his scarlet eyes sharpened to each individual flake continuously falling. Taking another sip of his tea, he couldn't help but wish that he had the pot to refill; he would soon be out, how sad... Being asked directly if he was a vampire, he couldn't help but set the plate and cup down to the side before turning his full attention to Maladict. He first shook his head, "No..." he softly replied, "Noble." He softly added. He couldn't help but smile a little, "But in the efforts to keep things simple, let's just say I am a vampire." He slowly spoke, keeping his amusement contained within on the newspaper matters. Next he pointed towards the papers, "Humans use those to spread the news. They can see upcoming events, and share things one might have never considered." He tilted his head slightly to think, "Now humans use another form of newspapers more virtual but regardless of the age and time, newspapers will continue to provide use." He softly explained.

L blinked in, one leg held in the air as though he’d been about to kick someone standing in front of him. Sweat glistened on his pale skin and and his dark eyes were bright and intensely focused, his arms were tucked in, out of the way of his next move. He executed a sharp kick and spun, drawing both fists up as he prepared a series of quick strikes that were no longer necessary to carry out as he realized where he was and relaxed. A soft smile that reached his wide eyes softened the intensity of his sharp features, and he slipped easily back into his usual hunched, informal posture, with only the remaining beads of sweat on his face to show he’d even been fighting.

Vanta blinked in, sensing the presence of somebody else by the sound of a heartbeat. Strangely enough, he noticed the heartbeat was accelerated at first. Then, it slowed to a normal pace. Something could have been bothering them, but the fox-cat didn't sense any danger now. "Hello," he calmly greeted.
