Outside the Winter Lodge - Kid, Mini Arlo & Elliot : mintedstar/fur --cato phoenixWith open palms, Elliot raised his hands in the air, "N-No, I mustn't." He insisted, while turning his head towards the side. "You two have begun engaging your duel, I have no place in such ordeals." He politely reasoned. He couldn't help but mildly smirk seeing the two having a good time though, it looked all too exciting. "I would suggest using your surroundings for better results. Standing in the open is simply asking for a pounding." He took a few more steps back to take refuge behind a tree. "Consider the wind for trajectory." He added now, his hands resting on the bark. "A-Again, I appreciate the gesture." I really wouldn't be against joining in though, but... If I loose my composure for too long... He slightly worried internally.

Riliane growled at him. Right, he was some kind of dragon creature. As much as she hated to admit it, she couldn’t defeat him using normal means...well, at the moment at least. The corner of her lips curved into a small smile. She could always fake a few tears to get her way. She suddenly yelped when another snowball collided into her face. Instead of snapping at him, the princess dramatically fell back, covering her face with her freezing hands. “Ouch!” She whined and sniffled. Hyacindiemo saw that the princess fell back, Now's my chance! Smiling mischievously, he didn't even notice the sniffles there were coming from Riliane. He took a few steps back and turned into his dragon form. This time he took the form of around 10 feet tall. Turning his body, he slammed his tail into the snow and slide it for a few feet before lifting it quickly, causing a lot of snow to fly up and land on Riliane, covering her in a white sheet.

Arlo, already packing another snowball, attempted to dodge Kid's but wasn't quite fast enough. The snowball caught the edge of her arm and specks of snow scattered across her grey shirt. Her own snowball was thrown a second too late- hitting one tree as the thief darted behind another one. She paused momentarily when Elliot spoke- probably making herself a rather easy target- and tossed some loosely packed snow toward him. "Aw, come on!" she called.

Outside the lodge -- Elliot, Arlo, Kid -- --cato phoenix Auransky "Alliances!" Kid called to Arlo. "Lets get him instead." He nodded at Elliot, laughing joyfully as he did. The other blinker's suggestion was very strategic, but getting a pounding was part of the fun, though it did drive a person back inside a lot quicker than it might otherwise. Kid reached down, packing a snowball between his hands, and then tossing it at Elliot's tree. It smacked into the bark, shattering into small pieces and Kid hurriedly moved away. "Come on!" he encouraged. "I want to see what you've got!"

Nore cackled when Sherlock fell, soaking in the success. She moved with much more confidence than when she first lost her sight. She wanted to make a retort about whether or not they even had fingerprint testing in his time period, but he was already moving on to another topic. She had a snowball ready and more at her feet as she stood upright again. “Nothin’ much. Everyone here’s the same as always!” Usually that was her way of saying she had no idea and didn’t care what others were up to, but she had actually gotten used to many of the other blinkers. “How long-“ She was interruped by the snowball that flung at Myrnin, and then from the ones sent by Myrnin toward her. She could tell the vampire was going easy on her, but still she acted as though she had an advantage as she dodged them. “Come on, you can do better than that!” Several more snowballs came hurdling toward the vampire, mostly just to provoke him. She had already started running away as soon as the last one parted with her hand. "Dear Nore," said Myrnin, easily dodging the snowballs with a swift blur (which caused more snow to land on Myrnin as it was kicked up from his own snowflurry than the snowballs would have caused). He actually scrapped some off him before bending over to create several new snowballs. He continued to move around, but finished his statement rather late, "I am far better at this game than you." Three snowballs, while lightly thrown, were still very accurately tossed in her direction. Myrnin could still work at this without very many vampiric abilities. "Perhaps you should try to shoot them out of the air with your bow?" he asked. It wasn't actually mocking. He already knew that Nore hardly needed any excuse to turn this a bit dangerous. He could add a bit of a joke in there.

(one more short post before I go to bed~) "Hmm..." Arlo paused just as she'd been about to throw a snowball, her head tilted slightly and a mischievous glint in her eye as she seemed to consider Kid's words. She tossed the snowball into the air and caught it again. "Yeah, I can do that!" she said finally. As she finished speaking, the girl spun on her heel and sent the snowball hurtling toward the tree Elliot had stepped behind.

She was like a kid with her attention span sometimes, totally forgetting about one obligation as soon as something else floated into view. "Where is it??" she asked, hopping through the snow and coming back Myrnin's direction. She shuffled in hopes that her shins would hit the bow and quiver, and vaguely reached down to feel for them. If he hadn't suggested it, this didn't have to turn dangerous at all; she had forgotten that even with the handcuffs, she had kept them around her person. This was just the target practice she needed.

Outside the lodge - Mini Arlo, Kid & Elliot : mintedstar/fur --cato phoenix what!? this caught Elliot off guard, what in blazes were the two doing to stop their one on one then suddenly turn it into a two on one. He didn't have time to think, he took continuous refuge behind the tree his long flowing kimono skirt, tassel and long sleeves swooshing forcefully against the wind. He could hear Kid's footsteps, then given the impact of the snowballs hitting the the bark, it gave away Arlo's positioning. she's covering for him... he started to move away from the tree to gain deeper cover in the woods but was instantly jerked back as both his skirt and arm sleeves were caught by the tree. not my gift!!! he wanted to scream but he was wasting time. He noticed the tall bushes surrounding him, then twitched his head in the direction of the incoming footsteps. tch...His long sleeves and skirt and tassel were flowing to the side of the tree giving away that Elliot had not moved from behind the tree. At the same time the bushes from the lef t, right and even further behind the tree rustled continuously. Even the tree branches rustled from where Elliot was hiding behind. Elliot was clearly trapped, or at least that's what it looked like: reaching the back of the tree revealed that Elliot had abandoned the Yukata all together since it was clipped to the tree, now simply free flowing against the wind.

strider Auransky greyThe only area of calm was around Private Maladict, who was drinking coffee like a young man relaxing in a sidewalk cafe, with the air of someone who has life thoroughly worked out. He'd been about to nod at Oliver, but then the House decided to interfere and the vampire and his coffee suddenly appeared - yet again - in the lodge. Maladict signed, steam blowing away from the coffee as he did. "Interrupted yet again," he said, as if the sidewalk cafe had been invaded by someone playing very nosy music. "What now?" he wondered.

The sun was up, and the mountain air was cool as ice. Raizel holding his cup of tea with one hand, reached for the massive window handel, to open the frame outwards. The sun beamed again s his face warmly greeting him. He leaned against the sill, the curtains blowing past him, as he took a sip of tea listening to the wilderness far beyond the window. There wasn't snow but the air was cold enough to feel like there was in the higher reaches. He closes his eyes to embrace the wilderness, then opened them slowly to a view of falling snow. He flinched surprised by the sudden change, especially the closed window which now stood in his way. He hesitated , but took a moment to realize that had blinked back into the house , the place where he met new frjends. The same place causing his servant to have a tantrum because he can't reason with his master over the matters. Remaining by the sill he took another sip of his tea, glad to still have that at least. After he turned his head to the decorated room, it wasn't the living room but rather a lodge much more decorated then the one he was staying in currently. Seeing the decorations and the now fully decorated tree he smiled pleased with this sight. Next he turned his attention around the room to see Crutchie and Maladict. He wasn't familiar with these two, but if they were here, they were clearly on the same boat, right?

"Just be sure-" Julia cut off what she was saying when the patient she had been talking to was replaced with the view of the Paradox House. More specifically, the holiday lodge. Strange, very strange - her blink frequency seemed to vary. Between her previous blink and the one before that, she had been away for a few weeks. Now, here she was again, two days after her most recent blink. If holidays here were like the ones in her world, then not much time must have passed in the House. "Hmm." Just as she was thinking, Julia noticed three more blinkers appear nearby. One of them was the pale man from the Santa room and the others were unfamiliar.

Maladict looked around the room as it slowly started filling up. He recognized Julia. She was starting to become a constant every time he blinked in. He wonder if that meant something ... Then there was the slightly younger boy, who wasn't saying anything but looking worriedly at a piece of paper. Maladict frowned at it as well. What was it? Then there was the smell of tea and the other man. "Hello," the vampire greeted. "Who might you two be? I've met Julia. Hello, Julia." He removed one hand from around the coffee cup and pointed at Crutchie's newspaper. "What is that?" He looked at Raizel and Julia as well, to see if he was the only one confused.

They went uuuuuuuuup ... and then he seemed to catch them at an impossible angle without really trying. It might have been impressive if he wasn't a vampire. "How good of a shot are you?" he wondered, mostly to himself. I mean, she'd manged to skewer him once, but that hardly counted. He hadn't really been trying. Now he was just wondering if she could hit a flying snowball.

Maladict, Julia and Crutchie seemed very invested in their discussion. The newspaper did catch his attention, however... It was reminding him of something. He just couldn't put his finger on it, so he shifted into a ponder. what am I forgetting? he wondered. Seeing the newspaper being handed off drive him into further ponder, after a moment he took another sip of his tea. Still nothing , so he looked o it towards the show , watchmaker flakes fall to the ground. After taking another sip the thought resurfaced, I haven't read my paper today! he was referring to the Sunday paper, he should probably do that whenever he returned.

Nore scrambled in the direction Myrnin told her and swept the bow and quiver up out of the snow with a splash. She loaded the weapon and held it aimed toward the vampire, before pausing and giving an almost flustered laugh. “Oh, yeah, the snowballs.” The girl readjusted her aim so that it was higher now. “Whaddaya mean? I’m a great shot!” She even leaned back slightly to seem a little more casual about it, arm still drawn back while she waited. “Just throw the damn snowball!” Her feet were apart, cowboy boots poking up out of the holes in the snow that they made. Her mouth became a flat line in concentration, sunglasses hiding much emotion. If she over thought it, it wouldn’t work at all-she was certain.

Julia flashed a quick smile in Maladict's direction. "Hello," the greeting wasn't just for him, but also for the other blinkers in the room. Her eyes widened out of surprise for a brief moment as the vampire showed surprise at Crutchie's newspaper. It was hard to imagine someone not knowing the existence of such a thing.

Matt nodded thoughtfully, eyes trained on Nico as he spoke. He could easily see the discomfort held behind that statement - the momentarily blank look in his eyes, and the quick calculation of what exactly to tell him. “I hope you will someday,” he said, sympathetic. He was lucky enough to normally have plenty of time to devote to his hobbies, but he was familiar with those busy weeks surrounding cases where there was barely room to breathe, much less play around. “Hey, do you like card games?” he asked suddenly, getting an idea. “I’ve got a bunch in my backpack - you might not have time for hobbies back in your world, but hey - this is the House.” "Card games?" Nico took a step back, not really sure what to say. He wanted to tell Matt about Mythomagic for some reason, but he didn't know... it was so long ago. "I... I used to love a certain card game when I was little, but I don't think it's in any other world. I didn't really know how to play anything using normal playing cards," he admitted. "I... I'd like to play, though," he admitted. "It's been a long time since I had the chance to really do anything fun."

Rex's shoulders shook with silent laughter as he wiped at his eyes. "What a way to go," he finally managed, cheeks hurting from how hard he was smiling. "Death by snowball. I hope that's what happens." He was never going to be able to go to a snowy planet again without remembering this. The thought made his heart swell. Flopping back into the snow, he sighed happily. He hadn't had this much fun in ages. He could barely remember the last time he'd laughed so hard his chest ached. This was nice. Touka shook her head, grinning from ear to ear, then flopped down with him, staring up at the night sky as amusement faded gently into quiet contentment. She did remember the last time she’d laughed like this...it had been years ago, when she was still in school. Yoriko had... Nah. That was another time - she didn’t want to get sucked into nostalgia right now. That was then, with all its ups and downs, and this was here. Now. And the snow was beautiful, and she had a friend by her side...so maybe, for at least a few moments before the House pulled her back, she could stay here. In calmness and serenity, protected by the wall of reality that separated her from the chaos of her world. For a few moments, at least, it could be enough.

Matt grinned, genuinely excited to be able to teach his new friend a game. He was curious about the game Nico said didn’t exist in his world...he’d have to ask about that later. “Aw yeah, time to learn you some crazy eights,” he said, crouching down to rummage in his backpack. A laptop, a spool of copper wire, electrical tape, a voice modulator(man, he never got to use it), a slice of pie still in the package... “Aha! Here it is,” he said after a few moments of digging, producing a deck of cards. He straightened up again, popping open the box to make sure there were actually still cards inside. “Alright, sweet, wanna go sit at the coffee table?” he asked, indicating the table and chairs that looked most ideal for a game of cards.

Maladict hesitantly took the paper, looking it over with a quick glance. It ... wasn't usual for him to see much written down. But he had never seen a newspaper, but it just seemed to words on paper which told of something that was happening. Why would this ever be sold? He didn't think anyone in his world would have bought them. "Why is this important?" he wondered, looking back up at Crutchie. He frowned over at Raizel and Julia, still not making sense of why this would be useful. There were pictures as well, which was against so many rules. Raizel and Crutchie still hadn't introduced themselves, so Maladict repeated, "And you two are ...?"

"Crazy eights?" Nico repeated as Matt pulled out everything from his bag. His gaze caught on the pie and he realized how hungry he was, but he pushed the thought away and began moving towards the table and chairs that Matt had pointed to. It looked like a nice, flat surface, which he knew was better for playing cards. Not that he'd minded all that much when he was younger and desperately trying to get others to play Mythomagic with him. "I'm pretty sure I've heard of it, but I don't have the slightest clue how to play," he admitted, sitting down. He had never really been interested in learning normal card games. He didn't know why he was willing to now - it wasn't that it sounded particularly amusing or more fun than anything else, but Matt seemed excited about it, and something told him that Matt was trustworthy. Besides, a card game wasn't going to take up any time he could be using for other things. It would be an excuse to try to have fun, which Nico desperately needed - not that he'd admit that to himself or anyone else.
