Julia nodded. She didn't know exactly what to think of other blinkers having superpowers, but she guessed she'd find out when or if she met them. Turning her head to admire the holiday scenery below once more, she realized that the sleigh was beginning to make a descent. It was heading towards one of the houses. In a few minutes, the reindeer had landed on the roof. "I'm assuming we're supposed to go down the chimney," she eyed the house's chimney, sitting a few feet away from the blinkers' vehicle. Victoria had mentioned this in the story, but Julia certainly needed guidance.

“Wanna bet?” Touka was nearly right on top of Rex as he turned and threw the snowball - right on time. Gathering herself, she leapt straight up in the air with all her strength instead of to the side, missing the snowball by the smallest hair’s breadth. Judging her distance carefully, she grabbed the lowest limb of the tree she was under and swung forward, landing with an ungrateful stumble so she was now several feet in front of, instead of behind, her opponent. Was she showing off? Yes. Was she having fun, for the first time in...well, she wasn’t sure how long? Absolutely. Not wasting the opportunity her acrobatics had earned her, she quickly made another snowball and chucked it in Rex’s general direction, aiming to use the distraction to scramble back to her feet. A startled sound escaped Rex as Touka appeared much closer to him than he'd expected her to be. Definitely misjudged how fast she could move when she wanted. Watching her swing over him, he stumbled to duck out of the way as her tree swinging dumped every bit of snow off of the branches toward the ground. He was largely unsuccessful. The cold stuff rained down on him with a whump and a freezing chill slipping under the collar of his shirt. "Touka!" he barked, twisting in a useless attempt to stop the snow from going down his back. "Cheater!" He looked up just in time for the snowball she flung in his direction to whiz past his face, just missing him. A grin broke onto his face, his heart racing as he took up more snow. With her back to him, it certainly was easier to aim, he thought, flinging the ball at her.

Eises face turned bright red at Noctin's mention of her friend, her heart skipping a few beats already. "S-she's good! Last I saw at least, she's on a different mission though." Evina should be finishing around this time too, so maybe they'll be able to come to base at the same time. The thought really excited her, the wolf didn't even notice her tail wagging rapidly.
"What's the usual for you?" Now that she thought about it, she didn't know a whole lot about Noctin's world.
What kind of missions did she do? How to put it... "Well, I'm in a mercenary group, so we do all kinds of things. Sometimes we gotta guard items or people, and other times we have to kill certain people. Y'know, stuff like that." The explanation was a bit too casually for anyone not used to the type of job, but of course Eises didn't realise that. "The one I just did, we had to escort a group of people."

"What kind of school?" Noctin asked Rae. He wasn't really sure about much in Rae's world, but he was fairly certain it was one of the more technological ones. So what was she learning? Fighting? Technology stuff? Maybe she could bring in some books if it was abstract learning. He'd like to read about other worlds and what was important in them.
Noctin stifled a giggle at Eises's reaction to Evina's name. Well, that definitely answered his question. It was sweet though. The world needed a little more of that kind of love. "Hopefully you get to see her soon," he said. At her question, however, he could have smacked himself. They didn't know what the usual was in his world, of course. "Ah..." he said, looking away. "It's... ah." A lot. A mess. Too uncertain and too dangerous. But he didn't want to worry them. Not when they couldn't do anything, so why should he needlessly worry them? He didn't know what to say. Anren's voice echoed in his head about how he'd always been a terrible liar. He knew it was true, but was that really such a bad thing? Shit- that was the last thing he wanted to be thinking about.

Outside the Lodge || Arlo, Kid, Elliot || --cato phoenix Auransky"Not me!" Kid said laughing, trying - but not too hard - to dodge in Elliot's direction. It didn't work and the snowball crumbled against his midriff. It was cold, but he wasted no time picking up another handful of snow as he spun away. "Come on, Elliot!" he said chuckling. "You aren't getting out of it either." He was aware that the other blinker might not be aware of the fact this was a game, so he lobbed the latest - less packed - handful of snow in Arlo's direction as he stumbled several feet away. He was grinning as he said, "Come Elliot! Join in!" He darted behind a tree to get between himself and any other attempts by Arlo. This was the perfect excuse for the snow and the light dusting which was still coming from the sky. He needed the distraction anyway. It got his mind onto other things.

“You’re just saying that ‘cause you’re losing!” countered Touka as she ran, a phrase almost immediately contradicted as Rex’s snowball hit her right in the neck, sending a chill down her spine. Being a ghoul may have given her heightened strength and agility, but evidently, Rex still had her beat when it came to hand-eye coordination. Turning on her heel, she skidded to a halt a couple yards away from her pursuer, gathered up the biggest snowball she could make in a hurry, and flung it as hard as she could. A move she would’ve been more restrained with up close on the grounds that she didn’t want to break his nose, but from this distance, might prove just effective enough.

"Yeah! I think so! Here, you grab the toy bag- or like, just the present if you see the right one!" Victoria hopped out of the sled as it came to a stop on the roof. She scrabbled her feet against the snowy shingles, but managed to keep her footing as she made her way over to the chimney. The wolf reared back on her metal hind legs, placing her front paws on the edge of the chimney. She peered down the sooty chamber, wondering if this would actually work. Julia climbed out of the sleigh. Luckily, she didn't have much trouble standing or walking on the roof - her boots were possibly to blame for that. She cringed a little as she looked at the toy bag. There appeared to be quite a few items in there. There was no doubt that it would be heavy to carry. As she was about to give an attempt at picking it up, she felt something strange. There was a weird urge to pull a couple presents out of the bag, specifically a rectangular one with a red and yellow wrapping paper, a square one with green paper that had little snowman decorations on it, and a smaller square one with white paper and a bright pink bow. Victoria had said something about picking the right gift. Was this the right thing to do? The woman still didn't know a lot about the Santa myth - she assumed that he went down chimneys in cities and everyone would gather and grab the gifts when he came. Deciding to give into the urge and take only the three presents, Julia let out a small sigh and walked towards the chimney. Just then, another thought came to her - "After we go down, how will we get back up?"

"Oh, wow, so I guess we just know the ones." Victoria commented upon seeing the three. For some reason, they just felt right. She looked over at Julia, adding, "Oh, yeah, and we gotta be quiet and sneaky so that it's a surprise and so that the people don't see you or anything." At Julia's question, the wolf sniffed at the smoke-blackened bricks. "I dunno- magic, maybe? Or I mean, we could always just walk out the front door if all else fails."

Present Delivering Room -- Mal, Victoria, Julia -- Sησω CloverleafMaladict had been in a cellar. He knew for sure that he had been. It was all dark, smelled mildly like rat droppings, and cobwebs. Truthfully, he was used to those sort of conditions. He'd also been asleep. So finding his legs, from the ankle to the knee, wet with snow and his head banging against icicles as the beam he'd had his legs hooked over was replaced by a frozen drain pipe and a sloped roof ... and oh dear ... these icicles were sharp. It wasn't exactly a polite awaking. "Where on the Disc!" the vampire exclaimed, nearly falling. Which would have really shamed his father, if there wasn't half a dozen other things worse than falling which would have shamed Mal's father. His hands scrabbled around a little and he pulled himself up, fancy clothing all around him. His thin black eyebrows rose as he looked around, nearly banging his head into a sleigh while he want to all the trouble. "Is this a room? Why does it still look like an excuse for a foreign holiday?"

"Oh yeah, sometimes." Sometimes was an understatement. "We've all broken a few bones before." Others don't get lucky enough to only break a few bones however. "Wow I haven't heard of school in a long time." Eises couldn't help but grin. "I've heard stories of school, it sounds uh...weird." Her squad mates have all gone to school, though Evina was the one who's actually finished high school. They all had different experiences with it, but a lot of it amounted to 'it sucked.' Eises wouldn't know, she's never been to school. She lifted a brow at Noctin, "It's...ah?" Well, if he didn't want to talk about it, that was fine.

Julia raised an eyebrow at the mention of being quiet and sneaky. So they were supposed to sneak into houses and deliver gifts while people were sleeping? Breaking into buildings was a shady act, but it seemed to be what they needed to do in this room. She let out another sigh, looking down the chimney. Magic wasn't something to trust. Just then, she heard an exclamation from behind the sleigh. Spinning around, she spotted a man who was dressed in similar clothing to herself. Definitely another blinker.

Touka grinned, straightening up triumphantly as she heard her snowball hit, poised to grab another. “Ha-ha! Not so smug now, are we - “ She stopped, realizing that Rex was no longer pursuing her - she couldn’t hear the crunching of his boots in the snow anymore. She turned around and saw, to her dismay, that he was lying on the ground, wheezing lightly instead of getting back up again. Had she really thrown it that hard, she wondered, with a stab of alarm. In her fun, she’d forgotten how fragile humans could be. Letting out an indelicate string of expletives, she turned on her heels and sprinted in a few quick hops to his side, landing with a skid in the snow next to him. “Shit, I’m so sorry...are you okay??”

Nore blinked into the Paradox House with her hands together in front of her. No, she wasn't just holding them there-they were cuffed together, a metal chain linking them. Her head was down, but she had an unforgiving expression, knees bouncing and eager for a dash. "Oh I get it," she chuckled when the surroundings changed. Her tone transitioned with it, as if she had been putting on an act when she was in her world. She heard voices outside that seemed like they were having fun... that was probably the place to be. Now if only she could figure out how to get these cuffs off, maybe they would even stay off when she blinked back. She started perusing the lodge on her way to the door, searching for anything between a saw and a laser beam knowing the blinkers who showed up here.

"So I heard. Though I could only guess who 'Santa Claus' is," admitted the vampire, brushing snow off the knees of his black pants, though it made little difference. It was pretty easy to assume he was a vampire if any of these blinkers had ever seen a bad Hollywood movie. The clothing weren't what he was expecting and he scowled as he looked at them. Again? Was he always going to be dressed up like a doll in these rooms? But he was still definable as a vampire. His hair was pulled back into a widow's peak, and skin pale. If Maladict ever actually smiled with his teeth showing, the canines were a fair bit longer than the rest of his teeth. He stood, easily finding his footing on the roof and looking around at the surrounding room. Though he'd never expected something so vast could be called a room. He was impressed. He glanced over at Julia, nodding at the gifts. "And what are we doing with those?"

The blissful stillness was suddenly shattered by an impressive slew of curse words. Rex heard Touka racing over to him, a devious plan spontaneously popping into mind. Yeah, that would work. The moment he heard her land beside him, he kicked one leg out, knocking her off her feet. As she fell, he swept as much of the snow as he could onto her, laughing the entire time. "I can't believe you fell for it," he wheezed, tears springing to his eyes from how hard he was laughing at how ridiculous she looked poking haphazardly out of the snow.

Myrnin looked like he was kissing someone. And he didn't particularly like the House interrupting. He flushed, as best as a vampire could, which practically returned his complexion to a normal pallor. He scrubbed a hand through his long hair, expression wiped completely blank out of self-preservation for whoever might have seen that. And considering he'd noticed Nore was here, that was all the more reason. It took him a second to notice her cuffs. His expression feel greatly when he did. "Are you alright?" he asked, concerned. He could get them off her, of course, but he didn't offer right off the bat. He wanted to know what had happened. So he asked, "What's going on?"

"Oh, nothing's going on," Nore told him, scrunching up her face and waving a bound hand at Myrnin when he addressed her. It was no big deal apparently. She couldn't tell if he had just blinked in or if he had been standing there all this time, but she sure was glad he was around. "Help me out?" she requested, raising her hands so that her arms were more directly out in front of her and toward the vampire. She was assuming he could deal with it of course, but more than that, she was assuming he would. Fair, but also presumptuous as usual. "Nothin' really, all part of the plan. But I might as well get you to do this to speed up the process." She jingled the chains, as if calling over a pet. "Anyway, sounds like it's still this place. Wanna snowball fight?"

Rae winced at the mention of broken bones. She had fractured something once as a preteen, but to imagine it as a direct cause by someone else caused a shiver to run down her spine. She offered a smile to Noctin, though. "Don't worry about it," she assured him, "I'm sorry it's a lot right now."
She did end up laughing at both once she had brought up school. "I mean, yeah," she agreed with Eises. "But it can help later down the road with jobs and stuff." She blinked her eyes in response to Noctin, an 'ah' brushing past her lips. That's right, his world wasn't really...she guessed as modern in terms of how hers was. "Um, do you have like schools and stuff? It's like that, just more advanced for people who want to have more education. And photography--" Rae tried to say it a bit easier for Noctin-- "is, well, it's for a device that can take pictures. I'd show you since it's a bit easier than explaining, but y'know." She waved a hand in the general direction of the House. Oh when would it finally cave and let technology work?
