Sal Fisher | Valentine’s Room | strider“Nice one, House,” Sal replied, pleased to know it hadn’t given them a bad cake, even though it probably could have. He guessed that was what it would have done if they’d been in the drawing room still…exactly what they’d asked for, but not what they’d wanted. He couldn’t help feeling oddly grateful to it for not doing the same thing now. Although, that might have had something to do with the warmth of Zuko’s hand in his. Nothing about this room felt negative. He let out a quiet breath, trying not to feel too disappointed as Zuko took his hand back to serve himself some pie. It wasn’t exactly that he didn’t want him to - how else was he going to try any of this food - but it had been…nice. He kind of wanted to do it again. “The sweetest thing here is probably caramel. From my world, anyway,” he said, leaning across to the table to try and snag some, then changing course mid-reach to get fudge instead. “Actually, scratch that. Fudge is better. Less chewy.”

“Maybe you’re right,” Kes agreed, turning to look towards the hallway with her arms crossed firmly over her chest. “But if there IS a reason, looks like no-one’s figured it out yet.” She didn’t think searching for answers was POINTLESS, per say. It just seemed like a long shot. If no-one had figured it out yet, that either meant they were all idiots or answers were hard to come by. Or maybe both. “Hmm.” She gave the stranger a curious look as he described the two rooms to her. It seemed like he wasn’t super experienced in that regard, either. Maybe he's just smart enough to avoid them, Kes thought. The talk about magic powers should have been surprising… but after everything she’d heard so far, it didn’t phase her. The rooms really did sound random, though, at least with only two points of reference to go off of. But maybe there was some big overarching pattern that they were missing. “You’ve mentioned other people a few times now. What are they like?” Kes asked, skeptical about the kind of people who would end up in a place like this. If the hooded guy had only been into 2 rooms, she figured he must be getting his info about them from someone else. “Do they just… appear here and throw themselves into a possible murder-room?” It sounded ridiculous to her, but not beyond belief. Some people had a major death wish. That was why the Undesignation rate was so high nowadays. “Rah-say-ree, huh…” Kes’s face was dubious for a second as she listened to his explanation of the term. It was hard to believe... but she wasn’t going to say that to his face. Magic just wasn’t something that got brought up in the Burrows, unless you wanted a bad rep with the Governors. Playing make-believe was against the unspoken rules. “What’s a shade?” she asked instead, raising her eyebrows. Maybe that was his “world”’s version of a Spectra or something. When the topic of Spectra was brought up, Kes sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose. She was still kinda spooked that he didn’t know any of this. Just a dream. It’s just a dream–it doesn’t have to make sense. “The Spectra, they–” Her voice cut off for a second as she thought of how to explain. “Well. I mentioned that we live below ground, right? They’re the reason.” That was as good an explanation as any. “We don’t like them much.” A wry smile ghosted on her lips for a second after making the understatement of the century. More like we would be happier if they were all dead. “Anyway… these ra’Seirri you mentioned–they’re fighting the humans?” That was interesting. And supposedly the “shades” (whatever they were) were enemies of both. Which of the two was the equivalent of the Spectra, then? “Sounds like trouble. How do you fend them off if they have… magic?” Her voice was laced with disbelief as she said the word. “Actually,” Kes added as an afterthought. “Do you have a name? Or a nickname. Something to call you so I don’t keep thinking of you as ‘The hooded guy?’” The avian squad had all come up with nicknames for each other until they passed their Designation Exam. Kes’s was Twintails, for obvious reasons. She was quite fond of it. [[ mordecai 2 || living room || Shrike ]] “No one that I’ve spoken with so far,” Mordecai agreed. Maybe they’d given up over time, or maybe they had no explanation because it was all in his mind and if he didn’t understand how it could be possible, none of the people he imagined could either. He wished there was a bit more he could tell her but it was a bit difficult when he never seemed to stay very long so he tried thinking about what the others had told him when he’d started blinking. He was trying to remember if Eises had mentioned any to him when the girl asked another question, interrupting his thoughts. “Oh uh…” he paused, thinking over the blinkers he’d met so far. Eises, the ones in the office with the magic papers, Nico, Zuko and a few others he hadn’t gotten the names of. “They… seem alright? I mean, I haven’t really had any problems with them.” To his surprise. “Sometimes the rooms can be dangerous but there’s quite a few that aren’t… Still, it’s best not to explore them alone. There seems to be no way to predict them so it’s best to have someone who can fight if needed.” He pretty much repeated what Nico had told him a few blinks before, it had seemed like good advice. When shades were brought up he hesitated to answer, looking away. If she really didn’t know about them he could, if he wanted, describe them to be completely different. It was something he’d thought about while in his own world. If the people in the House didn’t know about shades and he didn’t tell them, or if they weren’t real at all, maybe there was a chance the House could be safe for him… But if the House was real and he was able to appear in it, was there a chance that other shades could? If so, not telling them would be condemning them to an almost certain death, and quite possibly putting their entire worlds in danger. The shade looked to the human again. Regardless of what it might mean for him, he couldn’t risk doing that to someone. “All beings produce a type of energy… Shades are immortals that seem to be… incapable of producing or retaining energy of their own, so they hunt humans and ra’Seirri to feed on theirs, and create more of their kind. They were human once but the transformation alters their minds… They have no human emotions left, just an insatiable hunger for energy. If you ever see one…” He trailed off. Just because explaining was right didn’t make it easy. “You should run… Assuming you have no way to kill it without getting turned yourself. They’re faster and stronger than humans and they have their own type of magic.”Mordecai listened as she talked about the Spectra. She hadn’t quite explained what they were but he got the idea. “Ah, I… think I see. They’re… a predator to humans where you live?” The idea made him think of how Shades were in Xaphorda, though it was hard to tell how similar they might be without more details. Her next question threw him off a bit. He might not have been the best at talking to people but he didn’t really need to be to realize she’d basically referred to him as human. Should he correct her? In his world he would be most easily be accepted by humans if he himself was also human so maybe it was best if he didn’t tell just yet… After all, she was already learning a lot of new information and seemed to be under the impression that ra’Seirri were a problem. It took a few moments for him to realized he hadn’t replied. “Uh, yes… ra’Seirri do have magic but they aren’t invincible, human weapons still work against them… Both sides are more than capable of causing destruction when they want to.” For the most part it wasn’t the ra’Seirri or even the shades responsible for the destruction of Kirro’s capitol. The shade nodded, almost laughing at the comment. The way she’d said it was rather fitting considering the fact that he technically didn’t know his name. “You can call me Mordecai… and you?”

Kestrel | Living Room | --cato phoenix"Someone who can fight, huh..." Kes’s brow furrowed. “Can you?” She gave him a look to size him up again. As far as fighting went, Kes was the star of her squad. But she was also 5’4, and only had experience in fighting… other members of her squad. Who were known as “the Defectives” for a reason. On top of that, the only real weapons Kes had with her were anti-Spectra. They weren’t really effective against other humans– or whatever other creatures might exist in this place. She had a couple knives, if it came down to it… but she didn’t dare to believe she could take down someone as tall as Mordecai with a knife. Especially not with her heart problems… “Wow.” When she heard the description of the shades, Kes’s eyebrows shot up. “We definitely don’t have those where I’m from. At least, I hope we don’t,” she added with a shrug. “Even I could become one of these shade-things then?” The thought was frightening, although she tried not to show her unease. “Spectra are lethal, but I wouldn’t want to become one.” Kes didn’t like thinking about the process of becoming a shade. Having all your humanity and emotions stripped away. It seemed… invasive and wrong. “Have you seen a shade before?” she had to wonder. After all… Kes had never seen a Spectra in real life. Never even left the Burrows until recently. She had extensive anti-Spectra training… from books. “Hmm…” Kes considered what Mordecai said about the ra’Seirri. That situation did sound rather like the conflict between the humans and the Spectra, more so than the shades. Spectra were strong, highly intelligent, and lethal. But so were the humans. Kes had a feeling they were about to prove just how much, on both sides. “I kind of get that. How long has this conflict been going on?” she asked, tilting her head curiously. “The Spectra have been on our backs forever, it seems like. Although the Hunt that drove us down only happened a few hundred years ago.” After hearing Mordecai’s name, Kes had to wonder what naming conventions his world had. It didn’t seem to have a theme or reason to it, but she gave him a friendly nod of recognition anyway. “I’m Kestrel, as of two days ago. Kes works, too.”

[[ mordecai || living room || Shrike ]] “I am… capable of doing so… if I find myself in a situation that requires it,” Mordecai replied with a short nod. “What about yourself?” From her appearance and energy she seemed to be an ordinary human, but that didn’t mean that she was incapable of fighting. “I… believe you would know if they did exist in your world,” He paused a moment before continuing. “Although… how they first arrived in Kirro remains a mystery.” A world without shades… He was silent for a bit as he considered it, idly readjusting his mask as his gaze trailed over the nearby bookshelves. He couldn’t remember anything clearly from before he was turned so the idea was difficult to comprehend. He suspected it would be nice. There would still be fighting among humans and ra’Seirri, there always had been, but probably not anywhere near as bad as it had gotten… Her question drew the shade’s attention back to her and once again, he nodded. “As long as you are human, or partially human… human ra’Seirri may be more likely to survive being turned though… I don’t believe it’s something anyone would choose willingly.”“I… yes. Yes, I have seen them.” His voice was quiet and he turned slightly to glance at the door. Every time I pass a mirror. “I live in an area where they are… not particularly uncommon. Actually it was the first-” he cut himself off then quickly started talking again. “They can be found on most of the continent.”“Well…” Mordecai considered her question. “I believe the conflict has always been there to some extent. In some countries the practice of magic even by human ra’Seirri has been banned for centuries, some places humans are unwelcome… then there were those like Kirro that were meant accepting of both humans and ra’Seirri… Even so, there was tension. And when the shades arrived…” he sighed and shook his head. However the shades had ended up in Kirro, it had been enough to break the peace the country had clung to. “That was when it finally fell apart. As I understand it, the shades spread quickly and no one knew where they came from but many humans across the world blamed the ra’Seirri. The king of Kirro opened the country to ra’Seirri who’d been forced to flee their own, which didn’t settle well with the human citizens and it escalated until the capitol was attacked and the king was killed… That was nearly…” he paused, trying to think. How long ago was it again? “I believe it happened… Has it been… five years, perhaps? Or…” Could that be right? He didn’t have much to tell time by… how long exactly had he been in the ruins? When had the last person besides himself left the city? His breath quickened as he realized he didn’t know. How long had he been a shade? How long had he been Mordecai? How long had he even been blinking? The girl spoke again and he wrenched free from his thoughts, though he remained silent for a few seconds. Had she just said her name was Cass..? He couldn’t believe he’d done that again… “I uh… sorry. Pleased to meet you,” he replied with a brief nod before tilting his head slightly to the side. “Did… you just say two days ago?” He hoped it wasn’t rude to ask but well, it was a little late to worry about now.

Eises | P o c k e t m o n | IceclawEises hissed in annoyance as she blinked into the House just in time for her to trip over a fallen tree branch. She blankly stared at the sky for a few moments before leaping onto her feet. With a frown, she quickly dusted off her pants, grumbling to herself. She gradually lifted her head to sniff the air, taking in several unfamiliar scents. The distant songs of birds sounded so… different, Eises couldn’t be sure if she was even listening to birds. The grassy ground was decorated with plants and berries that she had never seen before. Her eyes wandered curiously at the unfamiliar forest scene. Was she alone? Eises wondered if there were other blinkers nearby. Her feet light, she walked down a path and around the leafy trees, her ears perked for any sound of clumsy walking. She nearly jumped at a high-pitched shrill that echoed above her, only to see an odd-looking bird flying away. Eyes widened, she quickly followed in its direction, careful not to step on the flowers that stood below. Eises hid behind a tree as the bird landed on a short yellow branch. She couldn’t help but tilt her head at the sight before her. The bird was grey with its face covered in long, red feathers and its bottom decorated with green. As her eyes focused, Eises realised that the bird wasn’t standing on a branch, but an antler. Her pupils widened as she gazed on the brown ungulate that feasted on the nearby leaves. Her nails naturally sharpened into claws, and her belly growled loudly. Her lips curled into a light grin, unable to control the hints of saliva that peeked from her mouth.

Daud | POKEMON LET'S GOOOOOOO | Eises
Daud blinked in, yelping in surprise as the street he was trotting along suddenly shifted into grassy forest floor. Just barely catching his balance, he straightened up and brushed himself off, hoping nobody had seen the less than graceful maneuver. His gaze caught on several things at once: a strange bird, a strange deer, and a strange person with ears and a tail.
The bird's beady eyes were fixed on him for a long moment before it let out a piercing warning cry and took off into the sky. The deer's head snapped up, gaze landing on him, and then it too fled, leaving him alone with the strange... person?

Eises | P O K E R M O N | IceclawEises could feel her heart dropping as her dinner fled to safety. She whirled around at the source of ridiculously loud commotion, her eye setting on the old man who stood before her. Her ears were lowered, but her eyes looked at him in dismay. "Do you want me to starve?" The wolf was nowhere near being that hungry, but anything getting in the way of her food made her irrational. Dumb grandpa. Eises bit back her words before straightening her back and realising that this was probably another blinker. She stared at him for a few moments before sighing and asking, "What's your name?"

Eises | P O K E Y M A N | IceclawI'm sure you will. Would they even have another big opportunity like that? She might have to wait hours until she could find her next meal. "You can call me Eises." Ignoring her roaring belly, she meekly looked back to where the two creatures ran off to, knowing it was no use chasing after them now. "We can't just stand around here all day." She said with sagged shoulders as she picked a random direction and started walking in exaggerated defeat. "Are you human? You kind of smell like one." She crinkled her nose in response.

Eises | SOMETHING SOMETHING IT'S OUR DESTINYYYYY | Iceclaw"A wolf demitheian." Eises figured that demitheians didn't exist in Daud's world - they never seemed to be where humans were. Her coconut-shampoo-smelling tail swished from side to side as she stared at her surroundings. "I've never seen a deer like that before." It looked almost fake, which only made her want to eat it more. Would it have tasted any different from a normal deer? Would it have tasted fake too? Eises paused as a cry could be heard further down the path. She glanced at Daud before moving forward. Once again, it was a cry that didn't even sound like it came from an animal. It made her feel a bit on edge, but her curiosity got the best of her. "E-Erm...Have you ever heard somethin' like that?"

| Hector | Ikea Room | Hector blinked into the House, immediately tripping as the uneven dusty ground under his feet turned to smooth tile floor. He landed on a couch, the soft cushions breaking his fall. After taking a few seconds to get his bearing, he looked around. It was the House... but not the living room, even if it had looked like it at first. For instance, there was not one couch, but many, laid out in a labyrinthian pattern. He stood back up, looking around for any obvious dangers.

Aesop // IKEA Room
Aesop blinked in soon after and almost at once bolted. He didn’t get very far though, tripping over a futon and tumbling over and over as he did. "Ow," came the complaint from behind the futon as he slowly let his head rise above it. It looked like he'd fallen onto his briefcase. How he'd actually been injured when he also seemed completely made of cloth was another matter as well. He stared at Hector from across the futon and blinked (something he seemed completely capable of doing with button eyes). "How are you still human?" he said, sounding suspicious. Then, looking around, he puzzled, "Where are we?"

| Hector | Ikea Room | Aesop | Hector instinctively braced himself for a fight at the sight of the other blinker rushing at him. But once Aesop had tripped just like he had and tumbled over the futon, he relaxed back into a regular standing position. "Er, yes, I haven't been turned into a ghost yet, thank the gods." Hector answered with a wry laugh. "I assume that means you're not?" He raised an eyebrow, taking in the sight of the other blinker- the cloth, the button eyes. He knew that there were other worlds here, but it didn't make the other blinker's appearance any less creepy. He looked around at Aesop's next question. "Not the living room, I think. Probably another room. I haven't seen any dangerous yet." He paused, his brow furrowing as he tried to read Aesop's expression. "Wait... you know this is the House, right?"

Rowlin’s head tilted back at the question, What now? The words echoed in his head. Like I’ve gotten that far. It’s like asking me, what are we doing next week? He looked back at Aesop with a raised brow. “Well… that’s an answer I don’t have. You’ll be here and then you will be sent back to the place you came from. Though, you can relax, or explore or probably get dragged in someone’s adventure depending on who else appears.” He started recalling past experiences before glimpsing over at the mirror before returning his attention to Aesop. “On the other end, you can have a conservation.” He brought out a chuckle noting the lad’s energy towards standing upright and ready. “You can relax, we are just having a casual conversation. If where you came from expects you to act in such a manor, then use this as a safe place to breathe for a second before returning to the reality that holds expectations.” Noting the further concentration from the lad, he tilted his head slightly, “I’ll start, on The weekends I volunteer in numerous places. Whether it be public events, animal shelters, school events, or hiking groups.” He nodded slightly as he was mentally counting his examples. “I do this to help others, and it makes me feel better.” He grinned, “Frame of reference! That’s a good one.” He nudged his head towards the mirror. “But then again, this place is best experienced so rather then trying to make sense, just live. In the moment.” He smiled attempting to reassure the newcomer. “As for a letter, I haven’t received a letter asking me to come here specifically. I just sorta ended up here. Though maybe I’ve forgotten? I’m not really fighting Father Time, so if something of sorts has happened its probably slipped my mind.” He turned his head towards the mirror, to look at his reflection, that appeared between the cracks. “Hey, have I received a letter asking me to come here?” He raised a curious brow as he asked the inanimate object. It’s bound to come to me…Rowlin | Living Room | Aesop Aesop | Living Room | Rowlin Aesop looked at Rowlin with a slight frown, not that the frown was visible under the mask. He'd never run into anyone with such an odd insight into life. It didn't fit with how he understood things at all. But alright ... "So this isn't the Manor?" he asked, to be very sure. But that seemed to be what Rowlin was implying. But if it wasn't - and its associated locations - than what was it? This wasn't exactly what he'd expected. But alright. "So you ... volunteer?" the words felt strange in his mouth and he didn't have the least idea what he was supposed to be assuming. The question was rhetorical at this point. And Rowlin didn't know if he'd gotten a letter. Even if this was the Manor, there wasn't any reason for him to have gotten one. Oh dear. Nothing really made sense. Aesop sunk into a couch, sitting and contemplating Rowlin with an expression that could potentially be described miffed. Then, finally, he asked, "What sort of monster are you then? Murderer? Creature? Mystery?"

Aesop didn't know of any other names for the strange, dreamlike building he was trapped in, but it seemed a fair bet that this was another aspect of it. "And no, of course you aren't a ghost. And even if you were, you shouldn't look human right now if we're in the Game." Clearly he had no idea what Hector was talking about. Not in the least. "... I'm not a ghost," said Aesop slowly, trying to catch up. He waved up and down at himself, slightly damaged body and stuffing included. "Doll. Clearly." It was more puzzlement than criticism in his tone. "... Want to explain then?"

| Hector | Ikea Room | Aesop | "Oh-" Hector realized that Aesop was a newbie. "This place itself is called the House. It's not your own world- it's somewhere separate. Game? What do you mean by in the game?" Perhaps the other blinker had been thrown into some sort of room before this. "Right. A doll. You're alive?" Hector asked, raising an eyebrow. He'd never encountered anyone quite like Aesop in the House before. Pretty much everyone he'd met had been human-ish, or at least flesh and blood. "The best explanation that I can offer you is that the House seems to be alive, and it takes people from their own worlds, and blinks them into different rooms."

"Game. Capital G," said Aesop. He could tell from the tone that Hector didn't quite get it. "You know ... get a letter, get sent running ... you don't know, do you." The strange doll man seemed to be ever so slightly frustrated with this, but ah well. He looked at Hector for quite a few moments, then said, "Given definition of alive." He waved down at his own body again. "Not my actual body. More of the ... thing I'm in." Which just made him sound like a ghost in a doll suit, frankly, but it was hard to explain. "And you're human?" he tried instead. It seemed like a good question. He waved around. "What is this place then? This room?" It seemed like the easier question.

Well. She had wolf ears. And a wolf tail. Daud supposed that made sense. "I see," he said, then shrugged slightly. "I've never seen a bird like that either." Not that he really had a lot of perspective, being a city rat through and through. He'd never seen a deer before, so he couldn't tell whether Eises was right or wrong about it not being normal.
At the cry up ahead, Daud raised an eyebrow. It certainly didn't sound like anything he knew of. Clenching his fist slightly, his eyes glowed a soft yellow as he peered ahead. Something was moving around up ahead of them through the trees. The form, however, puzzled him, as the edges of the creature seemed to be shifting strangely. Almost like fire. The yellow glow vanished as he cut his void gaze and stalked forward, curiosity also getting the better of him. As they got closer, a cream colored... horse? Came into view. But it was on fire. Daud stared at it uncomprehendingly, not understanding why it was behaving so calmly as flames danced on its back.

Eises | GOTTA CATCH EM ALL| Iceclaw"Almost sounds like a computer," Eises murmured. It sounded so...unnatural. Could Eises even call it a cry? She glanced back at Daud, her ears twitching curiously at the sudden yellow glow of his eyes. She walked alongside him, unsure of what to expect as the movement of bushes gave way to the sight before them. "What kinda magic were you using?" Her eyes narrowed with furrowed brows, the horse was perfectly calm. There were no pained screeches or restless panicking; it simply bent its neck down to chew on the short grass. "A fire elemental?" Elemental animals were a common sight in Theia - Eises had guessed that this horse was probably using its magic to cover its mane and tail in flames. Theian wolves often did so with ice, so the idea wasn't too farfetched for Eises. The horse wasn't big at all, Eises guessed it must have been young. She grinned at she stared down at its pale fur, her belly growling loudly again as instinct kicked in. Perhaps she could get a bite after all. Her mind started flipping through ideas of what slice of meat to eat first as she slowly approached the horse, completely forgetting about Daud.

Eises | H O K E Y M A N | IceclawEye fixated on the horse's thick neck, Eises kept her fingers spread apart as a light-purple sheath gradually appeared in front of her palm. She lightly inched closer, her feet careful to avoid any leafage that could give away her presence. The sheath hardened as it continued to float in front of Eises' hand, its edges becoming thicker and sharper. At the sound of Daud's question, the fire-horse lifted its head and stared in their direction for a few moments before running off deeper into the trees. Eises flattened her ears and slowly turned her head to look at Daud, her eye stone cold. Relaxing her shoulders and with a flick of her wrist, her weapon disappeared as she straightened her back once more. "You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?" She placed both hands on her hips while her tail twitched in annoyance. "A fire elemental is someone who can summon fire." That explanation was basic enough. She started walking in the general direction that the horse ran off to, with no intention of chasing it down. Her stomach roared hopelessly. Eises turned her head suddenly at the sound of a soft thud, as if something had fallen. In the distance, a green light could be seen flashing every so often. She couldn't hear any other sounds coming from where the light shined, and it was soon joined by a second green light. A camera? A weapon? She tilted her head curiously at what it could possibly be before approaching it.

Eises | I CHOOSE YOOOOOU | IceclawEises snorted, "Food is food, you can't just be picky on what to hunt." Of course, Eises was being dramatic, seeing that she wasn't starving and she was only in the House, meaning she would have plenty of food once she blinked back. She could only imagine what wonderful tastes would enter her mouth upon taking a bite. Ungulate meat was a treasure, why wouldn't she want to eat it? "Haven't you hunted horse before? Or any animal?" As the two came closer, Eises saw that the lights came from two red devices that peeked from two separate bags. Between the bags was an open wooden box with two red-and-white balls. She hesitated, "Those aren't bombs, are they?"

| Hector | IKEA Room | Aesop | "Nope. No idea." Hector confirmed. "Doesn't sound fun though." "Yes, I'm mortal." Hector said, looking at the button eyes of Aesop again. He was trying not to stare, but not sure if he was succeeding. "I've only just blinked in, so I don't know what the room is yet. It looks like it's an expansion of the living room- instead of one couch it's got tons. Rooms can turn dangerous though, so it would be prudent to be careful."

Aesop | IKEA Room | Hector
“I’m used to it,” Aesop said with a small sigh and looked around with narrowed eyes. “Okay … so. This isn’t where I’m from. Got it. Uh. Where should we go then?” It seemed to him that, if this was the case, then they should be able to work out where the exit was. “Dangerous how?” he asked after a second. “And is there anything in particular that I should know?”

Zuko was trying not to think about the hand-holding. It was just something couples did, right? He didn’t know why it made his chest feel like it was on fire. It had never felt like that with Mai. It had felt comfortable with her, sure, but nothing like this. Nothing like feeling his heart was going to beat its way out of his chest if he stood this close to Sal without making any sort of physical contact. Zuko shook his head a little bit, focusing his mind back on the present and the desserts he was going to eat. “Right,” Zuko said after a moment, glancing at the fudge for a moment before he took a bite of the apple pie. He froze for a moment, letting his eyes close as the flavors overwhelmed him. They were much sweeter than anything he was used to, but certainly not in a bad way. And though it wasn’t hot, he could tell what Sal had meant by calling it spicy. It had spices in it that weren’t hot. Zuko let himself savor the flavor for a few moments before he swallowed, then grabbed another bite. “Fudge has to be pretty amazing to be better than this.” Orpheus put the candy heart in his mouth, brows raising as he tasted it. It… well, it wasn’t good. It wasn’t bad enough to spit out, but it was far too sweet. And the texture was bad. He couldn’t help but wonder if there were people who actually liked it (and then he couldn’t help but wonder if L liked it). “It was… well, I’m not actually sure what it was,” he admitted. “But it was better than whatever it was you just made me eat,” he replied lightly, very gently nudging her with his shoulder. He wasn’t sure that was the sort of thing she would be okay with, but he didn’t have very many physical boundaries himself. He hoped she would voice it if the casual physical contact made her uncomfortable.

| Hector | IKEA Room | Aesop | Hector scanned the area, but there seemed to be more open space than twisting walls, though he was cut off from seeing very far by the fake little rooms that jutted out from various spaces. He stepped away from the collection of couches. A linoleum path and a scuffed arrow sticker were below his feet. He looked along the line that the arrow pointed out, finding another faded blue sticker pointing the same way. "I suppose we follow these." He said, starting to walk along the path in between the chairs and couches. "Dangerous like, forcing other people to fight each other. Or deadly creatures appearing. Or traps. Practically anything you could think of." Hector said. He glanced upwards after, as the ceiling was the one place he hadn't checked for danger yet. But it was just a plain ceiling, with stark white lights.

| Eurydice | Valentine's Day Room | Orpheus | She smirked and jostled his shoulder back, more firmly than he had, falling into that kind of teasing banter more easily now that they'd known each other for longer. "Hey, I'll try that one too- I'm not gonna chicken out or anything." She followed suit, finding that the candy was indeed too sweet. Eurydice pressed her tongue against her teeth, making a little click sound. The sweetness felt cloying. She scanned the row of desserts for something to drink and spotted a glass pitcher of water. There was a stack of pink paper cups decorated with hearts next to it, and she lifted one up and poured herself one. "Want one?" She asked Orpheus, gesturing by raising up the pitcher a few inches.

Aesop / IKEA Room / Hector
"... If you're sure," said Aesop, though he wasn't sure how much he trusted arrows. Not after everything Hector was saying. "We should probably avoid all of those," he murmured to himself. "Seems like a bad idea to run into something like that." To state the obvious. "So, you've never been in any room like this? Do you think anyone lives here?" It was his best assumption. Abandoned now, by the looks of it. Though not rundown. Spooky.
