"... you're probably right," Kid admitted. That did seem to be a strong motivation for the House. Love and hate. It seemed more entertained by that. Maybe pain too, but it seemed to like the variety pack that all blinkers brought. "Like it's testing me out," he finally said. "Like this is my last chance. Be entertaining or fare thee well." He sounded bitter about that too. But he did talk. Albeit it took some cold rain trailing down his neck to do it. "I think I want to talk to other immortals. Work out how they ... live. I need to find something I can do. Sometimes that gives me a ... point." A person, maybe. That would work to, though his own world's relations didn't seem to be offering him the same thing. "At least that's a start, if the House lets me." He glanced over at L. "Who's blinking in these days who fits that description? Do you know?" L Lawliet | Forest Room | mintedstar/fur L could understand the bitterness in Kid’s tone. He had to wonder whether he’d feel it, too, under different circumstances. If he were the one who felt like the House didn’t see him as interesting enough to keep. He didn’t think he was in that situation, but then again…how would he be able to tell that for sure? He didn’t pretend to know how the House’s mind worked, even if he would very much like to. “I don’t know many people here, not personally,” he admitted a moment later, frowning a little. “Have you met Myrnin? He’s a vampire, and immortal. I don’t think I know anyone else, though. There are a surprisingly small group if blinkers I’d be able to tell you about, considering how long I’ve been blinking. I’ve talked to people once of twice, but only a few have ended up in the same place as me enough times to let me get to know them at all.” He was, of course, excluding Czeslaw from that list. The boy was immortal, but he was also very clear about not wanting that known. Not only would it be a breach of privacy, it wouldn’t help, because Czeslaw was highly unlikely to offer anything like advice, anyway. He hesitated, then tilted his head up, looking at the sky, the rain dripping into his eyes and making him blink. For what it’s worth, House…I would prefer you didn’t stop blinking him in, please.”
"I've met him briefly," Kid said after a second. "I can't say whether or not I liked him." His brief interactions with Myrnin hadn't exactly been notable. They'd just both been in the same room together. It was a situation not particularly unusual when it came to randomly blinking into one of the more crowded rooms in the House. He hadn't been in one of them for a while. "Alright though. I suppose if I see him I will ... make an attempt to interact." It was hard to make promises about any sort of interaction in the House. Particularly considering what he'd just mentioned about his ability to appear (or not appear) in a timely fashion. He had to smile at L's request to the sky though. That did amuse him. "Oh, it's worth a lot," he assured. "I promise." He just wasn't that sure what else to do now. "Where should we go?" he asked. He felt like L should probably lead the way on this one.

Blinking into the house was for once was a blessing but it came with a catch. Jolting out of the cable car left Eddie seething, both physically and metaphorically, their judgemental looks burned into his memory. Yet the presence of the passerby vanished too quickly for their - his liking. Eddie was wearing a leather jacket with a grey hoodie under, denim jeans, and his scraped-up reebok shoes looking worse for wear. The only crowd that would pay the pathetic man that he was any mind was the grizzly fellow. Eddie had seen far worse in his time on the streets, it wasn't like he was doing much better himself at the moment. The house was decent at making the oddest nobodies into somebodies. (IS THAT NOT WHAT YOU DESIRE? BE SOMEBODY?) Baffled at the voice, he shoves it aside with whatever energy he could muster. Like hell did he need something to take up more of his headspace. There were enough problems to be dealt with, no need to add a pesky afterthought to his laundry list of issues. He winced silently as a sudden stab of pain came from his head soon after, rubbing his temples gently in response. To Kelsier he gave him a respectful nod and a mumbled greeting if the other was paying attention to him. "Just the two of us?" The question sputters out of his mouth unceremoniously, a confused glint in his eyes.

Most of this reply was wasted on Kelsier. He understood the concepts - systems, pathways, code, things being moved - but she seemed to be using them in a way he didn’t know how to follow. It wasn’t the first time the House had stretched the limits of his imagination, though. And since she seemed to be at as much of a loss as he was, he guessed she was a newbie. “Nice to meet you, too,” he replied, settling for a spot directed vaguely upwards to focus on, so he wasn’t looking around the room for someone he couldn’t see. “I’m Kelsier, by the way. First time here, I gather?” He turned a little at the next voice. Someone else he didn't recognize...he looked him over, then smiled cheerily and shook his head. "Three of us," he corrected, though he didn't clarify any further than that.

Hera didn't answer immediately - she was too busy sifting through her code, trying to learn the pathways and figure out what was even happening here, which she definitely didn't have an answer to - could AI units dream? She'd never dreamed before. No one had ever told her she could dream - would there even be a point in programming an AI that could dream? What about - oh, she was being spoken to.
"I....guess so?" she answered hesitantly, not sure she completely trusted this new person yet. "I mean, I'm not really sure how - wO-ahAH, where did you come from?" She cut herself off, now utterly baffled by the situation as a new person seemed to just...appear out of thin air. "I'm sorry, I thi-inink my optical sensors must be malfunctioning, I had only detected one of you before. Did you.....weird question, have you been here this whole time?"

Eddie | Living Room | ®Hawkpath® @hera Mislead to believe he heard this so-called "other", he gave in to the assumption that the third blinker must have had a bit of a sore throat. Initially, there was a wave of comfort felt by Eddie, strange as it were as if Kelsier's acknowledgment of another person was returned with sparse gratitude. The frazzled reporter returned the man's smile, feeling the pain from his head melt away. (IT IS RUDE TO PRETEND WE ARE NOT HERE.) Then Hera's voice came along and wrecked what he had been wishing was true, that the rocky voice was a mishap. Even the disembodied voice's confusion caused Eddie to pipe up about it, glancing back and forth at Kelsier and the ceiling. "Wait, that wasn't you just speaking a second ago with the very deep voice?" He furrowed his brow, growing ever more concerned. "Look, I was just walking home when I blinked in here just like the man next to me. I promise you that much! "We have this thing called blinking, its ah, a special quality that happens in this room. You could be in your world and the next thing you know you're somewhere else." He lied through his teeth, not sure if this third party was playing mind games to get the drop on him. Or Kelsier, maybe they were in on it too. (SOUNDS LIKE A YOU ISSUE?) The disgraced reporter takes a step back to address the petty accusation. "I don't think it's a me issue, pal. Whatever is happening concerns, everyone, in this room." He waves his hand at the gravelly voice as if to dismiss it, addressing his right side despite no one presently there. Eddie grew weary of his sense, nothing had ever felt right after he left the lab.

Kelsier raised an eyebrow at Eddie, then looked around the room again, trying to decide where he should look to address Hera. Did she care? It felt strange to talk to someone without looking at them, but so far, she hadn’t seemed to mind it. Plus, she wasn’t freaking out about being invisible. So maybe she didn’t have a body outside the House, either. The closest thing he had to understanding what she could be was a Mistwraith, but…no, that didn’t make sense, either. It was only the myths that said they were invisible. And he’d never met anyone else from his world here, anyway. “Ah. So you are new,” he remarked, smiling again. “You know how you weren’t here just a minute ago, and then suddenly you were? That’s called blinking. It’s the only way anyone comes in or out of this place, as far as I can tell. He just blinked in, too, which would be why you couldn’t see him a moment ago. Don’t worry, though, you’ll go back to wherever you were before, and no time will have passed there.” The way she said it made him think she didn’t mean seeing in quite the same way as he did, but…he got the main idea. She hadn’t known he was there because he hadn’t been there. He glanced back at Eddie. He seemed a bit…on edge. It didn’t worry Kelsier - if the newbie didn’t have a body, she wasn’t really in any danger even from an aggressive sort of blinker, and Kel himself had no doubt about his abilities to win a fight - but it did make him want to keep an eye on him. And also, he seemed to be speaking to no one. Kelsier briefly wondered if he was perhaps insane, but if he was, Kelsier could hardly judge him for it, being perfectly insane himself. “I have a deep voice,” he offered, his smile remaining casually in place. “Maybe you heard me.”

L glanced up, raising an eyebrow at that. “I don’t think I’d be a very good philosopher,” he admitted after a moment, shaking his head decidedly. “I’m probably a bit too literal. Besides, philosophers try to understand the world. I’m suspicious of their ability to accomplish that goal…I tend to think it’s less about understanding the world and more about sticking to the parts I’m sure of. You, though…poetry and philosophy have always seemed very much the same thing, to me. Or at least similar.” He exhaled lightly, turning his attention back to Orpheus, and sign language. He didn’t know that much about poetry, really. It wasn’t something he’d even been inclined to learn that much about. Meeting Orpheus had made him a little more interested in it, but… He watched Orpheus. He probably knew more than they did, at least. They’d never heard of sign language before. L had been speaking it longer than he could remember. “People do write poetry in sign language,” he replied thoughtfully, adjusting his position so he could face Orpheus better. It meant he was crouched sideways on the couch, which looked even stranger than the way he normally sat, but even if he had any tendency to feel self conscious about looking odd, it wouldn’t have mattered with only Orpheus there to see him. He paused, then raised his hands again, signing in quick, fluid motions. It wasn’t anything he expected Orpheus to able to understand, but…he thought, perhaps, they’d catch the rhythm in it. “And songs, too, actually. You can’t sign and play the lyre at once, I suppose, but…you can’t sing and play the flute, either.”

Nico couldn’t speak with any certainty to Kelsier’s motive. He didn’t know why Kelsier had the dream he did, he only knew what the dream was. He knew, of course, that the flower was connected to Mare, but he had assumed that the two of them had shared that dream. He had assumed that it was something they had wanted together, and something that Kelsier had decided to continue to fight for when he escaped Hathsin. It was hard to believe that it had only been Mare’s dream. The more he heard about the Kelsier Mare had known, the less certain he was that they knew the same person. Tartarus had changed Nico. It had broken him, and though he had pieced himself together, he was far more fragile than he had been before. How was it that Kelsier was much stronger after Hathsin? How was it that he had rebuilt himself into a hero instead of just the shell of one? Especially if he hadn’t been as much of a hero before? “Does it bother you?” Nico asked, very aware that Kelsier could hear the question. He hoped Kelsier was preoccupied. He hoped he wouldn’t be bothered by the conversation they were having. “That Kelsier began fighting for your dream? He wants a world without the Lord Ruler. He wants a world where the Skaa can thrive. But the flowers are part of it.”

It hadn’t occurred to Zuko to specify that he wanted a map of the House. He had asked specifically for a map of the House last time, so he didn’t think he would need to ask again in his clarifying question. As it turned out… he looked up at Sal, eyes wide as he looked at the thick piece of paper that had fallen. He breathed out, searching every inch of it, trying to figure out why the House had decided to show him this. Was it taunting him? Was this punishment for using this room in a way it wasn’t intended? Zuko knew what home looked like. He hadn’t been gone long enough to completely forget. He took in a deep breath, one hand forming into a fist as he pressed it gently against the wall. It was as though he was trying to stop himself from punching a hole in it. It wasn’t really anger that he was feeling, but it was easier for complicated emotions to look like anger. It meant he didn’t have to think about what they actually might be. “Sorry,” he managed after a moment, kicking the paper to the side and lowering his hand. “Is… there anything you want me to guess? Anything you didn’t get to try when it was your turn?”

Mare and Kelsier | Switcharoom | striderKelsier, lying on his back in the small cave he’d decided to make his hideout for the moment, was very quiet. He half hoped they’d forget he was even there. Which was a very strange feeling. He spent so much of his time demanding the attention of people who’d much rather ignore him, and now… He was tossing a coin, up and down, catching it before it could hit him. If he’d felt just a little more confident in the steadiness of his hands, he’d have used his dagger, but this seemed like the sort of conversation that might cause that to end badly, so he didn’t. It was near enough for him to grab it if he needed to, anyway. He hadn’t ever thought she might not want him to take it. It was a strange feeling, hearing Nico ask it. Like it was a question that needed to be asked. It was…he could tell it was, but he had never wondered about it before. Toss. Catch. Toss. Catch. He was unbearably aware that he wouldn’t hear her answer. He was also aware that Nico’s next words would tell him everything. Toss. Catch. Toss. What would he do if she said yes? Catch. The idea that there was a Kelsier somewhere in a distant future, who not only remembered her, who not only apparently had forgiven her for her apparent betrayal, but had taken her dream and made it a real goal…who was struggling to create the world she’d longed for without words, without telling most people… Did it bother her? She had to think about that. It was hard, trying to picture the future, when she’d just seen her version of Kel this morning. She knew the Kel that Nico could hear was listening. He’d know the question. But he’d only know the answer if she wanted him to. She looked at the flower. Then she began to copy it, mostly to give herself something to do. When she spoke, it was without looking up. “It…doesn’t. Bother me, I mean,” she said quietly. “I don’t know. I don’t think it does. Maybe it’s because it sounds like an apology. But I don’t really know if it’s supposed to be one. Maybe it only sounds like that because it’s what I want to hear.” So much for not oversharing. She was glad Kel couldn’t hear her. She was silent for another long moment. Then she sat back, looking up at him again. “I think…I’m glad. I’m glad that he’s trying. That’s not what bothers me. I think what bothers me is that I don’t want to be a memory. I’ve always liked speaking for myself. I don’t know. It’s foolish, but being dead means everyone’s making their own decisions about who I was, doesn’t it?”

"Tha -hat..." She paused, realizing with some relief that she could still shut off her vocal functions to have her thoughts to herself if she wanted to. It didn't make any sense, right? People appearing and disappearing, poof, out of nowhere? It sounded like something that would happen in one of the science fiction movies Eiffel was always talking about. Not that their whole life wasn't resembling a strange science fiction movie more and more these days...but there had to be a reason. It had to make sense.
But it didn't. It didn't, and there was nothing here to help her figure it out, because above everything else, she seemed to be running on nothing. She couldn't find a power source, a processor - anything solid that was actually keeping her on, and yet...here she was.
I think therefore I am, she thought wryly.
"O -oh, that wasn't me with the deep voice," she said, pushing those thoughts to the back of her mind to address Eddie. "My -y name's Hera. I'm...my station's autopilot. Usually. Right now I'm...here? Wherever here is? And I don't think I can actually connect with anyth - oooohhhh, what does that do? That was not here before."
With no one touching the handle or anywhere near the door, the door to the hallway slowly creaked open, seemingly on its own.

Hook - Hallway - @/rain, hawk, & lark Hook blinked in, formally leaning against a wall of his ship - and now against one of the hall doors. His body swayed slightly as the motion beneath him suddenly ceased, and he lazily opened his eyes as he recognized the feeling of solid ground. He was in the hallway it seemed, alone by the look of it. He suspected that it wouldn’t stay that way long, and begrudgingly sat upright as he stared down the corridor; almost tempted to sneak off before anyone else arrived. As he was considering it, a door creaked behind him and he turned to see the others moving into the hallway. He sighed at the size of the group, not to mention the unpleasantly familiar face among them. He took a few paces back, allowing the others to pile into the hall as he silently looked for an escape.

Kelsier eyed the other visible person for a moment, but truthfully, most of his attention was on the new person. He’d never heard of someone without a body blinking in, but that was the only real conclusion he knew how to draw, here. If she’d just been invisible, her voice would have come from somewhere specific. Then again, if she was just a soul, her voice might have done the same thing. But he wasn’t about to start an interrogation with someone he’d just met. What he didn’t know would mildly annoy him until he forgot about it. It didn’t seem all that important. He did turn at the sound of a door opening. That was…a bit unexpected. “Where are you, anyway?” He asked, then headed for the hall without waiting for an answer. He wanted to see the mysterious door for himself. He did see the door, open as though it had always been open, with no one visible near it. He also saw another blinker, who must have appeared after he’d looked the first time. He stopped, but not abruptly. It leaned less towards startled and more towards restraint. “Can you see in here, Hera?” He asked, not looking away from the pirate.

“I think the joke is meant for anyone who’s capable of having a sense of humor,” Nico replied, a small smile crossing his lips. “Which could be you and me, or it could be other animals. I don’t know. I like the idea that nature plays practical jokes. Maybe… maybe humans are a bit of a practical joke as well. I mean… we’re not really adapted to be able to do anything well other than think. But we still managed to survive.” He gave a quiet laugh, then followed Sam to the next enclosure. He pointed out the plumed bird off to the back, then glanced at Sam. He liked seeing the birds, but… he liked seeing Sam’s reactions to the birds more. “I like this one,” he murmured. “It looks like it’s going to a fancy dinner party or something.” After a moment he glanced over at the exit to the aviary, a bit of disappointment settling in his chest, too. “The… polar bears are right around the corner. We could go see them?” The polar bears were very tempting to Sam as well, even though he did feel a bit sad that there weren't anymore birds to look at. Ah well. He smiled - almost fondly - at Nico and nodded. Then he headed for the doors which would lead them to the polar bears. "Have you seen them before?" he asked Nico. He was looking around and not at all sure what their habitat would look like. Was he looking for a giant iceberg? "Do ... you want to lead the way?" he asked, sounding slightly embarrassed by not knowing enough about zoo animals.

"What's a mystery that you can solve? Is that like where someone's missing cow went or something?" Amico asked, nose scrunching up as he tried to think about this. "Because that seems really weird. Like you get money for that? What if you stole the cow?" This seemed like it would be a bad job. Like Sherlock would end up not doing things right. "Why?" he asked. "Why do that?" “Good question,” Sherlock replied, waving a hand at the comment. “And in just six short words, you’ve proven that you’re smarter than pretty much everyone I work with, maybe not much of an achievement there, but credit where credit is due, I suppose…” A small, semi approving smile appeared for a moment before it vanished again, and he dropped his hand and settled into a more comfortable position on the floor, which included giving Amico a little more space. “Something like that. Not usually cows though, little bit more along the lines of murder. As for why, well, why don’t you?” "So you do steal cows," Amico said with a decided wrinkle to his nose and a very definite look of distrust. Apparently this would be the sort of reaction that Sherlock would be subjected to on the sole basis that Amico didn't seem to be willing to trust much of anyone. He at least liked that Sherlock was giving him space, though he didn't like that he wasn't sure where he'd go, should Sherlock try and chase him. There were too many doors. "... Or you murder people?" he said, taking several steps back. This was confusing him. "Why don't I murder people?"

Eddie did not indulge the persistent voice's taunts as it earned him a look from Kelsier. Oh for godsake, he had enough experiences being gawked at for several lifetimes. Instead, he shook his head and scratched the back of his neck, a nervous tick he couldn't rid himself of. "Hearing must be off." He excused himself sheepishly. It was at the point did his eyes turn into an opalescent white for a mere second before going back to a hazy shade of blue-green. Malice could not be found in his expression, only a disgruntled man who as far as he knew could not hurt a fly even if he tried. "Had a pretty nasty fall back home." (A FALL THAT WE FIXED.) Running straight through an iron fence like it was cardboard and tumbling into a ditch was no laughing matter. It was a surprise he got out of the lab in the first place. Much more how he and this commentating presence had both been taken into the house. Whatever influence had taken hold of his mind, Eddie hoped the other blinkers would have the patience to be around him for a while longer. He winced yet again, stuck on how to respond as saw the faint shape of Hook appear in the living room. Saw was a generous way to put it, if Eddie didn't know any better he could hear the faint beating of the stranger's heart. He forced his attention elsewhere, back to the bigger conversation at hand. "Name's Eddie, a real pleasure to meet you. Sorry 'bout the confusion." The man found himself holding back from adding in person. Everyone he'd met so far had some kind of body, or visible form when it came to blinking. Bodily harm was one of the house's many ways of hurting others, always getting its way in the end. Hera was somehow a rare exception and even the other blinker didn't pretend that this was something precedented either. "If you could open that door, maybe you could find like a fire exit door?" Neither was he going to pretend that he wasn't thinking of leaving the first chance he got.

Orpheus tilted their head a little bit, thinking about it. Philosophy was about figuring out the world. It was a science in some sense, but it was more focused on figuring out how people worked and what that meant for the rest of the world. Perhaps it was the era they came from, but philosophy was less about figuring out the entire world than it was about figuring out the people in it. L had to figure people out for his job. Maybe it was only criminals, but that was still a form of philosophy, wasn’t it? Figuring out what inspired people to commit crime and doing his best to stop that? “Maybe there’s a little bit of philosophy in everything,” Orpheus mused, letting the thought wash over them before they centered their mind on the more tangible topic of conversation. “Oh,” they whispered, eyes wide as they realized that music could still be used with sign language. That was surprising, but it made sense. Music invaded everything, and if sign language was reliant on hand movements, how different was that from dance? It likely had its own rhythm, too. Did different people speak in different rhythms? Were the poems based off how long each word took to sign? Did signs have beats like syllables? Orpheus’ mind was racing faster than even they could keep up with. “I see,” they whispered, gaze resting on L’s hands and watching as the signs unfolded into a sort of poetry. It was like hearing poetry in another language. You might not know what it meant, but the cadence of it and the tone – in this case, the expressions – said enough. “That was beautiful,” they added, gaze flicking back up to meet L’s. “What did it mean?”

"I - "
Hera paused, thinking. What was the best way to describe it to someone who clearly wasn't very familiar with the concept of AI?
"I'm...in the walls, I guess? I mean, back on my ship I was the ship - tha - atat was my body. Here, I don't know. Maybe...I'm this room?"
But then Kelsier moved out of her sight, and she realized something she hadn't before. She could move. Not really move, not like a person, but she had lines of sight inside the hallway she could switch to if she wanted to. She could feel them there - see the code routes she could use to connect - just a couple little pathways, and...
"O -oh, there we go. Now I can see you," she confirmed, watching as he wandered into the hallway and past the door she'd opened a second ago...oh, there it was. "You, and the other one who keeps talking to himself, and...oh, you're new. Hi? You leaning against the wall - ooohhhh, wait, you two know each other, don't you? And you don't - " She stopped just short of and you don't like each other, realizing that might just add onto whatever antagonistic relationship these two apparently had. She couldn't see Kelsier's face very clearly from this angle, but the way he'd stopped when he'd seen him was plenty of information.
"Fire exit?" she repeated, finally processing Eddie's question - god, a lot of people were speaking to her at once. "U-um...I don't knoooow....I can't see what's behind any of these doors. I can only open them. For all I know they could open straight to deep space."

Hook - @/rain, hawk, lark
Hook kept eye contact with Kelsier for a prolonged moment, his expression showing mostly disinterest, though gave hint of a subtle smirk of defiance. He drew his gaze away to look past the group, only to see that the hallway door was missing, and had been replaced with a stretch of hallway identical to what lay in the other direction - as if there had never been an escape into the living room to begin with. He frowned, then shot a disapproving glare towards Eddie and the…other thing. Or at least, he was going to. He’d been a bit distracted to notice that she was, in fact, not a being at all. He sneered a bit, disinterested in the type of company that he couldn’t keep an eye on. She was uniquely independent from the other two in the room, but he couldn’t care less as to what or where she was - so he deliberately paid no mind to her at all. And seeing as he didn’t have much of a choice but to stick around, he simply gave Kelsier an expectant look.

Kelsier was once again glad that the newbie wasn’t in danger of being stabbed. There were now three people in the room who seemed like they might stab someone. Kelsier didn’t know Eddie well enough to know if he would, but it eas probably better safe than sorry, especially if the room was going to be an intense one. Which, if Hook was there, it probably would be. He’d have liked to just kill him once and get it over with. It would be mostly just to make a point, but if he stayed dead, Kelsier wouldn’t argue. He deserved it. He had killed Nico. From the pieces of conversation he’d heard between them, he thought it hadn’t been the first time, either. It would have been one thing if he’d seemed like he regretted it when Kelsier had confronted him. But he had seemed almost proud of it. And he hadn’t promised to stay away from the kid. Maybe he’d be less annoying if he’d been killed by Kelsier. Or at least too nervous to be vocally annoying. It wasn’t a real option in his mind…not with all these people around, anyway. There was a newbie. She didn’t need that to be her introduction to the House. But it was a nice thought. “Probably no fire exits,” he noted, turning to glance at Eddie. “That’s not really the House’s style. That does make me wonder, though…hey, Hera? How far down the hall can you see?”

"Right now I can see about as far as a human would be able to, but I can sort of - move about the room. Change my perspective. I'm not sure how far I can go, though - uhhh - hhhhhh..." Her voice was long and drawn out, glitching badly as she entertained the question, sorting through her options. "Thi -isis is...well, I'm not sure. I can see pathways for me to go to further down the hall, but they run out of range after a while. So I'd have to hop to one to get to the next, on and on, et cetera, until I reached the end. But I just moved 50 doors down and it all looks the same - so I think it's safe to say it go-oeoeoes on for a while. Too far for me to calculate quickly."

There wasn't much logic to being wary of someone like Kelsier but those calloused hands told a different story. One that someone as curious as Eddie wouldn't mind hearing. Given when there's a chance to do so without a certain somebody around. The reporter could only assume the scraggly fellow he was making looks at had something to do with those. Or, led him to get a few he can't see physically but rather mentally. Their beef between each other was not his to step in between so long as they didn't drag him into it. His gut unlike other times told him to keep his mouth shut for once - trying to speak out is what got him fired after all. (PRACTICE, EDDIE. PRACTICE.) He isn't oblivious of the hooked pirate's disdain, it's rather flat out. A slight relief came over Eddie as he could count on Hook being upfront rather than the measured reactions Kelsier was giving him. Eddie does not give the stranger the privilege of getting his attention, instead, he focused on those who wanted to talk. "Er, guess you'd know better about that than anyone else." Eddie comments, testing the waters with what the other blinker would answer. However, didn't feel much of a choice to wander the house at his own behest. Similar to his last blink, Eddie lets his arms fall to his side and uneasily follows the unwilling trio to the hallway.

Hook - yall
The Captain let out a quiet scoff at the conversation he was intruding on. The voice was likely a new blinker, by the sound of it, and it sounded like she was going to be just as slow as any at figuring things out. Despite her disembodied-ness. He gave Eddie a thorough look over as well, seeing as the man was stubbornly keeping his attention elsewhere. He didn’t seem like a threat; he actually looked rather forgettable. He was supposed it was best to keep someone around that wouldn’t require too much of the House’s attention, just to keep things balanced. He pushed off the wall - moving past the others with rude disregard of personal space - and took a few steps away so he could uncap his flask with his back turned to the others. “Are we doin’ a room?” He asked without looking back. It was better they hurried up and got it over with if that’s what the House wanted.

Kelsier had to admit, once he got over the thought that they could blink out before Nico could see what it felt like to fall up instead of down, that he was curious about how this side of Nico’s powers worked. He’d technically slept in the House before, but he didn’t think it counted if the Hoise had forced it. Nightmares…as though the two of them put together didn’t have enough of those to bury the world three times over. But this time, he thought the House might not have planned this. If it had, it probably would have given them a bed of some sort. It liked to flaunt its knowledge when it could, which of course had the downside of making it easy enough to tell when it had missed something. He smiled a little, but kept his eyes closed. For a moment, he thought sleep wouldn’t come to him. It so rarely did on command anymore…but the efforts of shadow travel made it pull on his mind, and the moment he stopped fighting, he slipped into sleep, the last thought on his mind that he was going to enjoy creating the sort of dream he thought Nico deserved to have.

Two new people and someone Kelsier didn’t know as well as he pretended he did. It was tempting to poke at Hook a little more, to try and see if he could be provoked, but it probably wasn’t the time for that just yet. Plus, Kelsier got the impression that the man was rather like a neglected dog. Any attention, even negative, was going to encourage him. It was neither here nor there, though. Kel had made his opinion very clear in their last conversation. Until Hook did something a little more nefarious than sulk, Kelsier had better things to do with his time. “That sounds about right,” he replied to Hera instead, giving a nod since she could apparently still see him. “People have tried going down it, but as far as I know, it either goes on forever or eventually loops back. It’s good to know that you can move around, though.” He turned, looking at Eddie next. He didn’t have as much of a feel for what sort of person he was, yet. He didn’t believe the excuse he’d given for who he might have been muttering to, but he wasn’t going to pry into that - this was the House, and he only had Eddie’s slightly awkward response to make him think it wasn’t ordinary in the man’s world - at least, not yet. “That’s the question,” he replied to Hook, without looking away from Eddie. “I’d like to do one. Hera, if you’re new, you won’t have tried going in a room before, right? So we should probably try and make sure you can even follow us, before we all go and abandon you out here.”

"Into one of those rooms..." Hera was appreciative of the fact that they had even thought not to leave her behind - it was rare that humans paid much mind to what she wanted. Hera, fix the power coil. Hera, make sure we don't die. Hera, what's taking so long? I thought you were supposed to be fast?
No...that wasn't a good place to go, she decided again, redirecting herself. At least these humans were being friendly. Talking to her like a person, even though they couldn't see her.
"I c-cacan't see what's in there," she told Kelsier, still keeping an eye on the other two as she spoke. "So...I probably can't go with you. But you can go in, and tell me what's inside later. It's fine, really."

Hera | Memory room | ®Hawkpath® |"Crew of the Hephaestus, this is your autoooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh, okay, this is..." She trailed off, trying to get her bearings, and then realized where she was by the strange pathways in her mind, the little vantage points she route herself through, but that weren't stamped all over with the Goddard Futuristics logo. She was back here.But...where was here? She couldn't see anything, but her optical sensors informed her that she was receiving signal normally...so was it just really dark in here? She couldn't feel any lights she could turn on, which she found unsettling. "Hello? I i -is anyone here?" she called, figuring it was worth a try.

Kelsier blinked in, lying half curled on his side, eyes closed and blond hair falling in his face. His scars still have him a rough look, countless lines criss crossing each other and covering both arms completely, as well as one on his face over his eye. Without the smile he so often wore, he looked somehow deadlier and quieter, younger and older at once. It didn’t take more than a moment for his eyes to open. The replacement of rough carpet instead of a bed was enough to wake him, and enough to make him aware that he wasn’t where he’d fallen asleep, but not enough make him realize where he was. He tensed. A moment later, he sat up and stretched, as though there had never been any doubt at all. “House. Nice of you to think of me,” he muttered, to himself mostly, and to this place. He knew it could hear him.

Hera had just been about to assume that there was no one else in the room with her, when suddenly, a voice spoke up - one she recognized from the last time she'd found herself here.
"U-uumm....well, my name's 'Hera', not 'House'...buuuuut, you got two letters right, so...close? Nice to hear your voice again, Kelsier. Weird question, can you...see, anything?"

Kelsier blinked, the voice once again flooding in from seemingly everywhere at once. Ah, her again. He placed the voice itself a moment after the realization. At her question, he realized he could in fact not see anything at all. Black pressed in on his vision, though he couldn’t tell whether it was because there was nothing to see, or because the things there were, were also black. “Hang on,” he replied, feeling around for his pockets and thanking his past self for having the presence of mind to sleep with vials on him. It was risky, since he wasn’t always a silent sleeper, and a nightmare could end with a lot of wasted metals, but with the House being the way it was, it was worth it. He downed the contents of one and set it down, feeling the metals for a second before he burned iron. There, sure enough…there was metal here, in th darkness. Which meant there was something to see after all. He burned tin, hoping it would light the place. It didn’t. He extinguished both metals, not wanting to waste them. “I can’t see, but something in here has metal in it.”
