Kelsier | Living Room 2.0 | strider“I would have to burn a lot to burn too much.” Kelsier explained, reassuring Nico as best he could that he would be just fine. “It won’t happen to me, I know how much I can burn.” He was telling the truth. He wasn’t worried about accidentally burning too much, even if he did burn a lot. “You really have to burn pretty much constantly for it to hurt you.” He added, in case it wasn’t completely clear he was safe. He paused a moment. “It’s permanent, yes.” He said reluctantly. He knew he couldn’t hide that. “It’s happened to people before. But it won’t happen to me. I promise.” Did a promise mean to Nico now what it would mean to him in the future? Kelsier didn’t know. But he wouldn’t have made this one if he didn’t think he could keep it. He would have liked to show Nico how he could smash through a ceiling that wasn’t this one, or a wall for that matter. If he’d trusted the House at all, he might have suggested they try a room, see if it gave them anything to play with. But he wouldn’t risk this Nico. Older Nico made his own decisions about the rooms, and Kel wasn’t about to start presuming to tell him what to do, but this younger version, with no powers? Kelsier would do his best to protect him. He nodded a little. So Nico could still see through the Mist. He wasn’t surprised, but it did remind him that monsters made Nico’s life dangerous, even now. “Probably yeah.” He replied seriously. “If they exist, though, you should probably stay away from them, okay? Some people with superpowers aren’t like me. Some of them are nice, but some of them aren’t. Some of the bad guys I fight have superpowers, too.” He paused, listening to the kid talk. “It is a bully.” He told him, his expression slipping into something more serious. “But I’ll tell you a secret. No matter what it does, or what you might see or experience here...you’re stronger. You’re stronger than it could ever be.” He didn’t look away. He needed Nico to know this, especially if there was some chance any of this would be remembered. He didn’t know why Nico didn’t remember this…. “So no matter what, don’t give up. Even if you end up in a mean room. Okay?” He leaned back a little, his easy smile returning. He didn’t want to scare Nico, but he did need him to be prepared for what could happen. What rooms the House might force him through. He grinned. “You’re right, there isn’t.” He told him. His hand fingered the magnet in his pocket. “That’s a very fun part of meeting people from other worlds. You’ll find out all sorts of things you never knew before, and you’ll see things that don’t exist in your world. It’s amazing.” And then his smile deepened into something somehow even more genuine. “Thank you.” He said sincerely. “You’re really nice, too. You ask questions, which means you care, and you’re thinking about things. Questions aren’t bad, you know. And I would never tell you to shut up, you’re not annoying at all.” He met the boy's eyes, still smiling. “Any other questions?”

“Is it… is it like when you’re hungry, and you know you can get really sick by eating too much, so you just eat until you aren’t hungry anymore? Because sometimes do eat so much they get really sick, but most people don’t because they know when to stop because their body tells them they aren’t hungry anymore?” Nico had no idea whether that was a good analogy, but it was the best he could come up with. It was probably the only even slightly comparable thing he had experienced in his short life. One day, he would understand. He would compare becoming an Allomantic savant to his own experience shadow travelling beyond what his body was capable of. Shadow travel wasn’t even an idea in this Nico’s mind. Which was… well, probably a good thing. That sort of power in the hands of a kid as excitable as Nico was probably not a great idea, especially since there would be nobody there to teach him how to use it responsibly. “Good,” Nico decided, evidently taking Kelsier’s promise at face value. “It would be bad if you got hurt permanently.” Nico had never had a promise broken at his age. He didn’t know the pain of broken promises. Still, when someone made a promise, it mattered to him that they kept it. Someone’s word, in his mind, was all they had. So they better keep it. “You don’t know if someone’s nice or mean until you talk to them, though,” Nico replied, frowning just a little bit. “It’s not nice to make an assumption about someone without knowing them first.” He managed a small smile, trying to get Kelsier’s to return. “What if I see someone like the guy I saw, and I never found out that he was really nice because I never talked to him? Avoiding anyone who looks like they might be scary doesn’t seem like a very good way to make friends.” Nico forgot that a moment later, catching Kelsier’s gaze. “I’m not… I’m not very strong,” he replied after a long moment. “I don’t have superpowers, and sometimes I get upset when the kids at school bully me. You’re much stronger than I am.” He didn’t sound like he cared that much, just that he was trying to prove Kelsier wrong. “If it can take away your superpowers, then it must have superpowers itself. I'm not stronger than that.” The truth was, he had never needed to be strong. Physically or emotionally. Life had gone smoothly, he’d never really been tested. He didn’t know enough to appreciate it. He didn’t know yet that he should appreciate that he’d never needed to be strong. “But okay,” he added after a long moment, “I promise I won’t give up. I can be… my mother says I’m very stubborn, so I’m good at not giving up!” Nico exclaimed, once again puffing up his chest. “I won’t let the House get to me, even if it is a bully.” He smiled once more, not quite sure why Kelsier was being so nice. He wasn’t going to complain, of course. Nico tilted his head, wondering at what Kelsier was fiddling with in his pocket. Would it be appropriate to ask? Kelsier had said he could ask more questions, if he wanted… “What’s in your pocket?” he asked in a moment of bravery, eyes wide as he met Kelsier’s. “Also… you really don’t think I’m annoying? The teachers get mad at me at school sometimes ‘cause I ask lots of questions and they think I just wanna disrupt the class cause I don’t get things a lot of the other kids get really easily. I don’t… I don’t ask questions to be annoying, though.”

(sounds good!! we can always continue tomorrow) Zuko | Living Room 4.0 | chaos01 (+anyone who wants to join!) Zuko appeared, hands balled into fists as he paced the ship he was on. He stopped in his tracks as he noticed where he was, sighing loudly and collapsing frustratedly down onto the couch. “I don’t have time for this!” He exclaimed at the House, crossing his arms and glaring. He needed to be back in his world, there was a sign of the Avatar, and he needed to be able to follow it… even if being here didn’t waste time, he was still impatient. “Just… teach me whatever lesson you want and then let me go!” So far, he had received no answer for why he was being brought here. If it kept happening… he’d have to ask Uncle Iroh’s advice, no matter how reluctant he was to do so.

Kelsier | Living Room 2.0 | strider“Something like that, yes.” Nico, naturally, didn’t know that this was the sort of problem only the nobility could have in Kelsier’s world. The idea that the Skaa could have to be careful not to eat too much and make themselves sick was laughable, and not in a good way. Still, Kel knew what Nico meant, and he supposed it was a decent analogy, especially considering Nico didn’t have anything else like it. Not yet, anyway. It was strange, talking to this version of Nico when he knew the other one so well. Strange to see the seeds of the boy he had come to care for. He cared for this Nico too, he found, even if he didn’t know him well. It was the same boy. It was so clearly the same boy. “Pretty bad, yeah.” He nodded a little. “But I’m good at healing. I know how much I can burn safely.” Promised mattered. They mattered to Kelsier, too, though he suspected they did even more to Nico, or at least the older version of the boy. That would be because of everything he had gone through, the promises that had been broken, the pain they caused. And that meant a promise to Nico was not something he would have made lightly, if he had made them lightly at all. He considered Nico. Trying to decide what to tell him. It was true that he didn’t want to tell him to avoid people who looked scary - he would have to be avoided in that case - but it was best not to walk up and say hi to the monsters trying to kill you. “You’re right.” He told him. “You just have to be careful. Not everyone is mean, but not everyone is nice, either.” He listened, watching the boy. “You don’t need superpowers for be strong.” He told him after a moment, his tone genuine. “And I might not really be stronger. Sometimes the strongest people don’t realize how strong they are. Sometimes the strongest people have no idea how strong they are.” He focused on Nico. “It thinks it’s strong, but you know what’s stronger than superpowers? Determination. If you refuse to give up, eventually you’ll succeed. Even against a bully with superpowers.” He meant it. There was a reason he still planned to take the House down. There was a reason he hadn’t yet come close to giving up that idea. He smiled. “Good.” He answered. “Being stubborn can be a good thing. I’m very stubborn, too. It’s how I win against the bad guys in my world.” He blinked, caught off guard by the question, but his smile didn’t slip. He had been being a little bit obvious about it, after all. “This?” He said, pulling the magnet out and holding it up for Nico to see. “It’s something a friend of mine gave me. My world doesn’t have flowers or butterflies, so it’s very special to me.” He shook his head. “You’re not annoying.” He said firmly. “There’s nothing wrong with asking questions. If I were a teacher, I think I’d be glad if you asked questions, because that would mean you wanted to learn.”

Asami | Living room | ®Hawkpath® |"Izaya Ori..." As she spoke, Asami's facial features started to warp and twist, until finally, her whole head came apart at the seams, splitting into four even segments that unfurled slowly into tendrils, twisting and stretching out in all directions. Her arms were at her sides now, one of the tendrils having taken the rubix cube from them on impulse, and another tendril stretched out, opening up into a large green eye and a sharp-toothed mouth below that. "....hara. It is nice to meet you," she said robotically, reciting the latest thing she had learned from Aunt Michiko. "My name is Tachibana Asami."

Izaya didn’t move as the girl - the monster - changed. He stood still, eyes wide and focused. If she had wanted his full attention, she now had it. “My, my.” He remarked, his voice quiet. “Wow.” He was fascinated, and it showed in his expression. He peered at the eye, then the mouth, apparently completely unafraid, in spite of his never having seen her kind before. A slow grin came over his expression. He walked forward, moving first past her eye, then ducking under it and coming up the other side. A monster. And not on he recognized or knew about, either. He had no idea what she could or would do, when pressed. She could have been anything at all. He walked backwards, spreading his arms. In one of them was now a knife, though it wasn’t clear when he’d pulled it out. “Not to be rude,” he began in a tone that suggested he was about to say something rude and didn’t care. “But what are you?”

Asami | Living room | ®Hawkpath® |Asami moved with him, her eye following him as he moved past her and to the other side of the room. Without a face, it was hard to see how an expression could be present, but there was a light in her eye that gave away her curiosity. This was a strange little human. He didn't act like most of them. "I have no name for what I am," she said simply, her other tendrils slowly working out the Rubix cube as she spoke. "Humans, however, call me a parasite." She paused, still watching him, her eye tilting to the side slightly. "You are moving in an anomalous manner. What is the purpose of this?"

Nico nodded, trying to think of what it would be like to have powers that you had to be careful not to overuse. It was good to know, however, that it was hard to overuse them on accident, and that Kelsier wouldn’t end up doing that. He didn’t quite know why, but he found himself quite attached to Kelsier already. Maybe it was just that Kelsier seemed to be the only adult who took Nico seriously, and who didn’t seem annoyed by his questions. Even when they were, on the occasion, too personal. Also, Kelsier seemed to do more than tolerate the questions. He actually answered them. All of them. Even Bianca didn’t do that. “Do your superpowers mean you can heal, too?” Nico asked, eyes widening. Kelsier hadn’t mentioned that when he showed him how he flew, but he supposed it hadn’t been relevant at the time. Healing always seemed like a useful power in stories, Nico considered. The healers were the ones who didn’t die, usually. And they helped save everyone else from dying, too. Not that Nico wanted to be a healer. He’d much rather have powers a little bit more suited to action. Maybe that’s why he yearned to be a pirate or a pilot. He didn’t yet know that either of those professions were likely to get him killed. “Okay,” Nico said, considering. “I can be careful!” He still figured it was better to approach a person and figure out if they were nice before assuming they were bad, but maybe he’d hold off on that until he was big and strong enough to be able to fight bad things. “I think it would be better to assume someone is nice than assume they’re not,” he added, a smile spreading across his face. “If I had just looked at you, I would probably think that you were mean, except that you smile a lot. And that assumption would’ve… it would’ve been wrong, because you’re one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.” He nodded firmly, like he thought there could be no argument to that. He didn’t really understand what Kelsier was saying about strength, but that seemed nice, too. It didn’t seem likely that the people who were actually strong didn’t know they were strong, but maybe it was just one of those things his mother said he’d understand when he was grown up. “I promise I’ll try to be stubborn and determined,” Nico said, eyes still wide as he looked up at Kelsier. He would keep that promise, even if he didn’t really know what it meant. The serious expression melted away from his face as he looked at the butterfly, a small smile forming there. It was really pretty. “You don’t have butterflies or flowers?” Nico asked, sounding almost betrayed. “I think your world is mean too, then. And I think your friend must be very nice, because if I didn’t have any butterflies in my world, I would want someone to remind me that there are world with them.” Nico glanced up again, round, dark eyes meeting Hazel. “They think I ask questions to be rude,” he murmured, awkwardly rubbing at his arms. “I don’t… I don’t write as well as the other kids, and I’m really bad at math, so they think I don’t try, and I ask questions about things that don’t matter instead of trying on the things that do matter.”

Scarlet | Living Room 4.0 | strider
She stretched and let out a yawn as she stepped into the bathroom. "Alright, time to get ready for-" Scarlet cut herself off as she noticed her unfamiliar surroundings. She looked around at the wooden panelled walls and green carpet, frozen in confusion. "This isn't the bathroom" she stated matter-of-factly, affirming her thoughts out loud. The glowing humanoid looked behind her, only to realize there was no door she could've come through. Just the wooden walls of this strange room.
"...I knew that bartender couldn't be trusted."
Needless to say at this point, this wasn't the inn she had stayed at last night. In a sudden panic, she quickly searched her pockets and let out a relieved sigh. Her boomerang was still there.
But thankfully it didn't seem particularly dangerous here. Usually people would've already jumped at her at this point. Nobody waited this long to surprise the opponent when they had powerful space guns at their disposal that could easily blast you into oblivion with just decent aim. So either she was safe or kidnapped by a totally clueless idiot that even let her keep her weapons, in which case she could probably handle it.
With her mind now a little more at ease, Scarlet observed her surroundings more closely and noticed a figure sitting on a couch. Curiously she made her way over to the human. He looked strange. The humans she had met didn't wear such wierd clothes.
"Excuse me, sir? You wouldn't happen to know what this place is?" she stopped next to the couch, putting her hands on her hips with her usual confidence. "The name's Scarlet by the way, glad to see I'm not alone here." The humanoid extended a hand in greeting, hoping that this dude knew something about her situation.

Jason & Demon | Living room 3.0 | Mordecai & Kid
”Oh, neat. The weird robot lady wasn’t lying to us after all!” “HOW IS THAT IN ANY WAY NEAT WE COULD LITERALLY DIE.” ”Jason, you are literally one of the hardest things to kill in our entire known world, you need to chill out. With me here, I can keep you alive.” Jason sighed. “Yeah, no matter how much it hurts, apparently.”
The fox’s appearance shifted slightly, as his eyes changed color and his fur changed to a darker shade of what it had been before. The horns stayed pretty constant, but seemed to be a little more pronounced now. ”Well, if we’re gonna explore, might as well have me in charge! This does seem like my kind of place, after all. Random effect rooms? High chances of death? Hell yeah!”

(Is it alright with you if some others join in, too?) Zuko was getting really annoyed that the spirit world didn’t seem to be showing him any actual spirits, just other people who had no idea what was going on. At least this person hadn’t tried to threaten him yet. This person, however, seemed to appear more like a spirit than any of the other more human people he had met. Uncle Iroh would say that was a sign of something. What it was supposed to be a sign of was anybody’s guess, though. Maybe he was working his way up to actually meeting the spirits who kept sending him here? “Best I can tell,” Zuko replied with a small shake of his head, “this place is the Spirit World. I think it might be a bridge point between multiple worlds? Someone called it the House, though, and that seems to be what most people call it. You’ll go back to your world like no time has passed, though, if that’s what you’re worried about.” He wasn’t used to… well, explaining things to people. He was trying to take his patience from Uncle Iroh, but that was much easier said than done. His tone was harsher than he meant it to be, and his arms stayed firmly crossed across his chest. It was odd to him still that nobody here knew who he was. It was, he supposed, both a blessing and a curse. Nobody would know him as the banished prince of the Fire Nation, but nobody thought they had to respect him, either. He glanced at her extended hand, not really sure what he was supposed to do with it. Logically, he knew what a handshake was. He had just… never really done one except with high ranking officials. “Zuko,” he said in response, eyes narrowing a little bit as he tried to tell whether she wanted more than that. It seemed better to not just announce his former position here… even if it might have afforded him some respect.

</div></div>“Par...a....site.” It was said in a sing-song voice, Izaya stopping to stare directly into her huge green eye, his expression curling in to a mischievous smile. “I take it that body isn’t yours, then? You took it? Killed the human, perhaps? Scary stuff, you know. You might give someone nightmares with your existence alone.” His smile turned into a full grin. Then he stepped closer, seeing whether she would pull back or not. He didn’t bother answering her question, instead raising a hand and waving at his reflection in the eye.

Asami | Living room | ®Hawkpath® |"That is correct," said Asami emotionlessly, as Izaya brought up what no other human had yet decided to talk about. She was aware that it was a human response to feel remorse, or sadness, for such an action. She was aware it was her own species' response to feel a thrill, or a sense of accomplishment. Asami felt neither of those things, because there was something wrong with her. She didn't feel anything about it at all. She had no desire to repeat it - killing brought her no joy - but she couldn't even begin to understand the normal human response, either. "Night...mare," she repeated, the word familiar only in definition. "An unpleasant dream that can cause a strong emotional response from the mind." She did not pull back as he approached her, her single pupil widening and contracting as it visually adjusted for the closeness. Instead, she simply watched him, curious. She did not generally understand human behavior, but she understood this particular human even less. His actions seemed erratic and unpredictable, none of the usual plodding reason to them that she had grown used to with humans. What an odd little creature, dancing around in front of her like that. "You are holding a weapon," she pointed out, without moving to look directly at the sharp object clutched in the human's hand. "Are you concerned that I may cause you harm?"

(Of course! I'd love to meet more amazing characters!) Scarlet | Living Room 4.0 | strider
The Novakid practically soaked up the new information. Gears in her head turning to process what the stranger had said. A Spirit World seemed like a strange concept to her, but then again it wasn't much stanger than a prison fortress built on clouds. Maybe this place was like those wierd trial portals she once saw deep undergroud. "Hmm 'house' seems pretty accurate to me. It sure looks like one." Scarlet glanced around for a moment before turning back to the grumpy teen. "Good to know time's stopping outside of here though. I wouldn't want to leave my crew all alone on the ship for more than a few days" she joked.
Finally he told her his name. Not a common name among the humans she knew either, but if they were really from different worlds, who knew? She noticed he refused to take her hand and simply placed it back on her hip, returning his stare. "Fair enough. I suppose you have a right to mistrust me" Scarlet walked around to the other end of the couch and slumped onto it.
"Why don't we get to know each other a little? There doesn't seem to be much else to do and moping about until we leave won't do us any good" the Novakid put her arm over the armrest, relaxing and trying to make the best out of the situation.
"So, what's a kid like you doing over in your world? Are there any people like me?"

(Zuko's a little awkward, but he's trying his best adjkhf) “I guess,” Zuko replied, glancing around. It was… sort of how he imagined Earth Kingdom houses? At least the green carpet seemed to fit. It was nothing like the palace in the Fire Nation, though, and that was pretty much all he had to go off. He didn’t know enough to warn Scarlet not to go down the hall or open any doors. He hadn’t tried it himself, but looking at it now… it seemed sort of tempting. His thoughts were immediately distracted as Scarlet kept talking, and he tilted his head as though he didn’t quite understand. She seemed nice, which usually meant she would be hiding something. In the Spirit World, though, was there anything to hide? The only person who had ever really been nice to Zuko without ulterior motive had been his mother and Iroh. He wasn’t used to it from strangers, and it was rather disarming. “I have to capture the Avatar and regain my honor.” Zuko replied, voice hard. Even the Spirit World knew what the Avatar was, but… well, it had seemed that there were people from other worlds who were brought here as well. It was entirely possible she had no clue who he was. Maybe it would be nice, for a time, to get away from everything he had to deal with on the ship. Zuko was silent for several moments before he looked over again and seemed to relax, at least a little bit. He wasn’t used to casual conversation, but would it really kill him to try it? “I’ve… never seen anyone like you,” he said, the words more stilted than he meant them. “What… do you do, in your world?”

[[ Mordecai (2) || Living Room 5.0 || strider ]] Mordecai couldn’t really tell how much time had passed since his last blink- it simply wasn’t something he was good at keeping track of. He’d tried the first time he’d blinked, but it was so easy to lose track when you were wandering on your own in the woods, especially when time didn’t affect you the same as normal people. He’d traveled a bit and found what appeared to be a very small town nearby, surrounded by high walls- probably an attempt to keep out shades. He hadn’t attempted to enter it, nor did he intend to, but he would probably stay in the area for a bit. He’d just turned to walk away from the town when the snowy forest disappeared and was replaced with the interior of a room that was slowly becoming more and more familiar. He glanced around but, like the start of his last blink, he didn’t see or sense anything besides the strange energy emanating from the walls themselves. A certain type of energy that shouldn’t have been possible, yet it was. “So...Hello again, House,” said the shade quietly. He didn’t understand how, but he knew that it was alive so he figured he might as well say something to it. Did the other blinkers even know?

Nico appeared, quickly wiping his eyes as he realized where he was. He didn’t need to be crying here, especially not when he didn’t recognize the person in front of him. He still wasn’t quite used to meeting new people, and the House always chose the worst time to try to introduce him to them, but he would at least be civil. Crying in front of a stranger seemed like just about the worst way to make a first impression, so Nico squeezed his eyes shut as tight as he could for a few long moments before he opened again. With any luck, the redness of his eyes wouldn’t be noticeable. Or maybe the stranger would be nice and just… not mention it. Tentatively, Nico shoved his hands into his pocket and approached the stranger, making sure to keep several feet of distance between them. The other blinker wasn’t like anything Nico had ever seen. Normally that would make him nervous, but things were different in the House. The other blinker was… alive, sort of… but that measure didn’t always mean much in the House. He shook away the thought, instead focusing on Mordecai. “Hi,” he managed, voice quiet and still somewhat hoarse from crying. “I’m uh… I’m Nico. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you here before.” Not a newbie though, Nico decided, judging from how at ease he seemed.

Rae's head almost shook 'no' at Arlo's question, but she'd stopped herself. Her jaw hurt from the force of all the locked muscles and she found her words beginning to jumble up. "I-I will be," she managed. She looked down again, not sure if the oncoming dizziness was from the plane crashing or herself. Her lips quirked a bit when Kelsier admitted to being in the same boat. Right. They were all together in this, and so they had to work through the same fear to get everyone to safety. A conflicting moment of relief and guilt passed over Rae as Kel went for the controls. She should have been able to take it, but--
Something about a motorcycle. And the rift. "...Shilo's?" Rae asked, her head just fuzzy enough to make the memory harder to think about. Maybe if she remembered after this she and Arlo could reminisce on those old times, as all thoughts went blank when the engine groaned and the plane lurched when Kelsier pulled on the wheel with Arlo. Rae braced against the back of his seat where she'd fallen, eyes screwing shut as her heart felt like it would just evaporate from her chest. And despite all that, still her instincts went to the back of the plane where she'd left Nico and that girl. Please be okay. Please be okay!

On the ground, Rowlin broke into laughter, "Woa... you think I'm older? I'm shocked.." He laughed some more. "If I were older, you'd think I wouldn't be falling over rocks." He laughed some more, he liked this guy a lot. Myrnin reminded him of several people he'd met over the years-and there was something about this guy's easy going tone was just you know, nice. "T-Thanks.." Rowlin chuckled as he took Myrnin's help back up. There was a sound that seemed out of place-but it was so quick that he could only assume it was a tree branch breaking off in the distance. Once he got up, he started brushing the snow off him. He was no longer wearing his coat or scarf, since he had loaned it to Myrnin, but he still had his turtleneck sweater, with another longsleeve, while not as warm as prior-it was still better then nothing. "Y-Yea... I'm a natural klutz..." He chuckled at the question. "Ironically everyone thinks I'm acting like one, but in actuality it's the other way around." He laughed some more, before beginning to continue in the direction he was initially headed. He couldn't help but raise his arms and stretch as far as he could. The snow continued falling with no end in sight, the temperature continued dropping by the hour. "Life is interesting, not gonna lie." He glimpsed back at Myrnin, "You probably already knew that-maybe." He smiled at the thought. Seeing Myrnin still evidentially cold, he turned his head far back to look at the other vampire. "There's some vampires that are naturally accustomed to the cold, individuals who can control ice based elements. Vice versa there's fire elemental vampires, who would be great right about now..." His voice softened at the thought. "But I've also been studying of a lost group of vampires who the older they get, the colder they become period. Their body temperature isn't like others, so they are just naturally cold at all times, with the exception of certain places like extreme desert weather. These sorts of vampires are considered an origin for us... linked to the darkness, and yet nothing at the same time. Once humans, hosts to shadowy disembodied entities which as a result freezes the human's body. Alone, the entities are attracted to chaos, destruction and negativity. Within a host, the shadowy figure's lust for negativity is turned to a quench for blood, especially that of hot blooded individuals, often driven by pacing hearts. Over time these hosts go mad-the human mind can only take so much, and hence a human host is believed to live a short life, shorter then most vampires. These individuals, eventually turned others to vampires, the more commonly existing types that we could consider more familiar." He crossed his arms and pressed his chin inward towards his turtleneck, he was cold, "Well, guess where I'm trying to go with this is... I kinda I was either an ice elemental user, or that kind of entity vampire." He chuckled lightly. "I wouldn't be a tad bit cold, because I'd already be cold, and it wouldn't make a difference." He pondered briefly, "Entity vampires... I think they were known as something else, but... I wouldn't want to be one of those." He shook his head. "Going mad in the long run heh... and if I somehow live as long as you, I'll be so far removed from existence itself-" He fell silent, and had failed to realize that the crystal around his wrist was glowing. It was when Myrnin brought it up that he flinched and turned his head forward. "Not exactly." Rowlin raised his arm, to show the faintly beaming crystal once more. "It follows abnormalities. Like a metal detective but for magic based items. Some crystals can be used to communicate with others who have a similar crystal, some can teleport an individual to another with a similar crystal. Some can be used to repress or release certain magical properties. There's a lot actually... alarms though." He glimpsed up at the thought. "Not sure..." By this point the crystal was beaming more, stronger and notably, so he started increasing his pace until he noticed a glow coming from the distance. Reaching the edge of the clearing he slowed down to notice another large clearing with the light source only steps away. Rowlin winced trying to catch the source on the other side of the clearing, the crystal around his wrist responding rapidly. Across the clearing, was the light source, bright and yet different. Rather then the clean directional light, this one was pulsing and sporadic, glowing in multiple directions, making it difficult to see across the clearing on the 1st try. The stone, the source, appeared to in a rough, beaten form-in fact it was broken, cut , shattered in pieces- the light beaming from the stone coming from all directions. He was so caught up with what was in front of him, that he hadn't been paying attention to his surroundings. In the distance, there was something approaching - the faint sound of something hissing against a surface barely hearable but approaching Myrnin and Rowlin from far behind. There was no sound of anything stepping against the snow, therefore no footsteps outside of the two vampires. The wind had begun blowing a bit more aggressively, with almost what felt like a cold sheet of ice blowing in the air. From the far left there was a sound of something faintly rolling against the surface of the snow. It was like wheels-squeaking faintly-barely hearable but approaching the two from the distance. From the right there wasn't any sound from the ground. Instead the wind blasted at full throttle towards the two, the ice sheets blaring towards the two. On top of that, along the wind currents were multiple large icicles targeting the two at a rapid pace.

[[ Mordecai (2) || Living Room 5.0 || strider ]] Mordecai had been about to say something to the House again when he suddenly sensed the energy of another blinker and looked up, his head tilting slightly to the side when he saw who the House had brought in this time. The boy was unfamiliar to Mordecai and seemed to have been crying before he’d blinked, but the thing that stood out to him most was the fact that his energy was human… but at the same time, very not human. His world’s version of a ra’Seirri, he figured, like most of the other blinkers he’d met. Barely noticeable, the shade tensed when the boy stepped toward him, then relaxed again when it became obvious that he wasn’t going to come too close. Last time he’d been in this room, Kid had mentioned that the other blinkers were usually all on the same side, that allies and friends were easy to find. Mordecai wanted to believe that could be true, even for someone like himself, but he was still cautious. He watched Nico watching him, trying to figure out what he might be thinking but not really having much luck. To be good at reading people you kind of needed to, well, actually spend time around people. He was trying to decide what he should say when the other blinker started instead. Hearing the boy introduce himself, Mordecai found himself wondering what had been going on in his world but figured it probably would be best if he didn’t ask right now. “It’s nice to meet you Nico,” he replied instead, “And, uh... no, I don’t think so. This is only the... fifth time I’ve been here, I think.” He stopped for a couple of moments before suddenly realizing he hadn’t said his name. The poor shade really wasn’t used to meeting people. Maybe that would improve over time. “Oh, I’m Mordecai.” Or at least that was what he went by. He’d gotten used to it by now and he wasn’t sure what his real name was anyway. “You’ve been… blinking longer, correct?” Nico seemed to be used to the House the same way Kid and Eises had been.

Kid | Living room 3.0 | Mordecai/Demon/Jason (I'm dealing with school starting, so no worries, Wyld!) Kid very briefly looked at Mordecai. He couldn't meet the other blinker's eyes with the hood pulled that low, but he still looked in that direction. The look he gave was mildly curious, but hopefully not invasive. Was something up? Secrets. He was forgetting that part of what seemed to attracted blinkers to the House were the secrets. It had taken, what? All of three blinks for his own to be found out? "Very common," he explained to Mordecai. "The House might do it for entertainment, or something of the like, I don't know. But it's very common for people from the same world to blink in." He got the impression that Mordecai wouldn't like that response. As to Jason's freaking out, Kid didn't mention the fact that it was very hard - maybe impossible - to permanently die in the House. He just figured that it would turn up later if it was needed for the conversation. "Is that saying you want to go into a room then?" Kid confirmed. He assumed he was primarily addressing Demon now. Slowly, the thief got to his feet and glanced at Mordecai. "Good a time as any then. Alright. This way." He started for the hallway. It was a hallway alright. Covered with doors that stretched the length of what very well might be a maze of hallways. Kid doubted that, if he walked straight or if he turned a corner, he would have stayed oriented regarding his direction. He waved to some of the first couple doors. "There's no way to predict what's behind them. And they always change. So feel free to chose one here or one out there." He gestured toward the other doors that further lined the hallway.

Nico saw the tension as he moved forward. How could he miss it… it was the same reaction he had when anybody came even just a little too close to him. Silently, he took a step back, trying to show Mordecai he wasn’t a threat and he wasn’t going to come any closer unless Mordecai wanted him to. It wasn’t often he met someone else who had the same response to someone coming close. Nico was going to respect the other blinker’s limits as best he could. At least, Nico noticed, it seemed Mordecai had relaxed when Nico backed away. “Fifth,” Nico repeated softly, shaking his head a little bit. That wasn’t very many, yet Mordecai seemed shockingly at ease. Perhaps it wasn’t the strangest thing Mordecai had seen in his world. Nico wouldn’t be terribly surprised about that – the House tended to pull from plenty of worlds that were almost as wild as the House itself. “Well… welcome to the House, then.” He forced a smile, hoping it looked more genuine than it felt. His unease wasn’t about Mordecai specifically, just about meeting strangers in general. He never really knew what to do, so he just… tried to be pleasant. “Nice to meet you too, Mordecai,” he added after a long moment, raising a hand in greeting. He didn’t offer his hand to shake. Hopefully Mordecai would understand why not. Or, even better, hopefully handshakes weren’t a convention in Mordecai’s world. “I’ve been blinking in for a long time,” he added in response, taking his hands out of his pockets to subconsciously pull the delicate chain around his wrist around a few times. “I don’t know how many blinks, but I’ve been blinking in since I was ten. So… three and a half years now, I guess.” He shrugged one more time, then glanced at the hallway. “Have you uh… been in any rooms?”

(He's actually handling it better than I expected xD and thankfully Scarlet doesn't mind at all) Scarlet | Living Room 4.0 | strider
Zuko seemed to be a little confused as she was talking, but she was pleasantly surprised that he actually took her invitation to get to know each other. He didn't seem to trust her enough to shake her hand but if he was openly talking to her now, she guessed she might've been wrong to assume that. The boy was clearly driven, as he stated his mission in a stern voice. She wouldn't dare question the determination he had for accomplishing his goal. This dude was an interesting character for sure.
"The avatar? What's that? Some kinda animal?"
Scarlet wasn't sure what he was talking about, but thankfully he seemed to relax ever so slightly after that and asked her the same question.
"Oh I mostly just fly around in my spaceship and travel the universe looking for my brother" she simply stated. "I haven't gotten very far but I've found some clues that lead me to believe I'm on the right track." The Novakid paused for a moment, thinking before she perked up excitedly.
"Oh! And I'm trying to get a sweet upgrade for this!" Scarlet pulled her trusted boomerang out of one of her leather pockets and showed it off to Zuko. "Found it on my travels and it's a lot more handy than you might think! I've got all the materials I need to enhance it with fire abilities but I'm missing some instructions, which is why I'm preparing to head to a more dangerous planet and see if I find anything there!"

Izaya would have been fascinated to know what she felt, how she thought about what she’d done. Far from horror, he would have been excited to know how little she felt about it, and he might have picked her apart to see what made her feel it. Not in a dissect-your-brain way. That was Shinra’s area of expertise. No, he would do it in an external ways, he would get in her head and see what he could learn, see what made her work and what made her different and what made her interesting. “Almost.” He corrected her, walking to the side to see if she would follow him. He didn’t put the knife down, but he also didn’t seem to be paying it much attention. “It can come from strong emotional responses. You see something scary? You even think about something scary? It can get in your head, make you dream about it. That’s how humans work.” He watched her, stopping to look into her eye again. “Almost all humans are afraid of monsters.” He said bluntly. “Even if they say, ‘I’m not afraid of you’ or ‘I trust you’, they don’t mean it. Deep down, they never mean it.” He leaned closer, inches from her eye. “Do you think I should be concerned?” He asked quietly, turning the knife over and over in his hand.

Zuko didn’t know how to let people know him. Nobody had ever really wanted to, so he just acted how he was expected to, except around his mother. That was… well, until Ursa had left. He didn’t know if he was doing it right, and he wasn’t going to mention anything too personal, but the conversation felt relatively safe. At least so far. “An animal?” Zuko repeated, still not really sure how to deal with the fact that there were people who didn’t know what an Avatar was. “No… the Avatar is a person… an old man, the last airbender alive. He’s the bridge between my world and this place, and he’s the master of all four elements. He’s the only thing that stands in the way of the Fire Nation.” He didn’t yet know that there were people who wanted the Fire Nation to fail. They were bringing peace to the world. Prosperity. The rest of the world just didn’t see it yet. “Spaceship?” Zuko asked after a long moment, not sure if he was supposed to know what that was. He had never heard of it. Was he supposed to comment about the brother? He wasn’t sure. The boy’s eyes narrowed as he looked at Scarlet. He didn’t want to mess this up, because she was being nice. It was possibly only because she didn’t know who he was. Part of him wanted to tell her good luck, but he held off. Zuko scooted just a little bit closer as she pulled the boomerang out. He still stayed a little bit away, but he was drawn in by it. “Fire abilities, huh?” Zuko asked, lifting his gaze to Scarlet’s face. He lifted one of his hands, a small flame bursting into life in his palm.

Nico eyed Hook suspiciously for a long moment, uncertain why Hook had so suddenly changed his mind. He had been pretty firm about them not being able to handle the guns as two people. Curiosity got the better of him nonetheless, and he did as Hook instructed, attempting to roll it towards the port. He struggled a little with the rope it was tied up with, glancing at Hook to see if he was doing the right thing. Or, perhaps, to see if Hook was laughing at him. “Okay, well some of us don’t do this for a living, and the ship might be impressive, but it would be more impressive if we could actually do something with it,” he retorted, pushing up the sleeves of the jacket as he waited to see what, exactly, Hook was planning to have him do with the gun. He eyed the port, trying to catch a glimpse of anything but open water. He was sick of open water. “You know how in stories, someone always has to walk the plank? Is that an actual thing or does it just happen in stories? Also, have you ever gotten attacked my sea monsters?” Nico was somewhat distracted, the questions flowing from him a little too quickly as he paid less attention to holding them back. He was still trying to push the damn thing forward. Though he'd manage to untie it, it just wasn't moving. Hook raised his eyebrow has he watched Nico move toward the weapon, giving the demigod an expectant look when he glanced backwards uncertainly. He gave a considerate nod as the teen pursued with his protest, willing to admit that things had been a bit anticlimactic thus far. “We don’t know how we’re meant to get out still,” he pointed out, tone not very optimistic. His eyes narrowed as Nico elaborated upon his seemingly random question, then cut into his contemplation with a sharp laugh when he heard the next one. “How the hell else would I have such a good time makin’ coin?” He said with a somewhat bitter low chuckle, “For the right rewards, I will - and have - made enemies with nearly any beast of legend a paying bastard can point me towards. And if I ain’t goin’ out of my way to track something down, I can always bet my ass somethings goin out of its to track down me. So, yeh, you could say I’ve dealt with a couple sea monsters,” He shrugged a bit, thinking it over. Hired work was messy, especially considering the amount of realm and time hopping he did, but it made up the majority of his pay. Folks wanting any nature of loot from monsters they were too [oops] to hunt after themselves always seemed prepared to pay good money for him and his crew to risk their lives to retrieve for them. It was a solid business. “Also I don’t know what the hell plank you’re talking’ about,” He let himself grin as he continued watching Nico push again the gun, the heavy tool not easily giving to his efforts. He’d probably ease it up to the port with enough effort - but the pirate could only hope that the hassle would dissuade him from wanting to play around with the weaponry much more.
