"Yes, I'm glad there was that much intact equipment, the results of the research there were rather fascinating honestly" replied Cato.
With a tap of a key on his device, he directed the Mark 1s to return to the base camp.
"Would you like to hear about what was happening there?"

"Ah, it's no trouble, I need Mr. Thorne to update the software before I can work on the machine itself" said Cato, "primarily the Blacksite was a facility for research on shifters and the methods one might become a shifter, natural or otherwise".

"Ah, thank you" said Cato, pulling up a chair and seating himself, "I could do with some time out, I've been searching for so long now to try and find answers".

"Ah, just water thanks, nothing too fancy for me" said Cato, "it's been a long few days..."

"Ah, pleased to meet you, I am known as Cato" replied the man, "I'm searching for answers, and if I can, my redemption..."

"Infinity Circle did some terrible things in its prime..." sighed Cato, "there is a very good reason there are only three of us left, the WK sank our flagship and Ars Goetia, the mercenary outfit, hunted down most of our members...the three of us fled to here, to seek out whatever we can help with, and continue our mission, without the horrible consequences".

"The world was a dangerous place, and it still is" sighed Cato, taking a sip of his drink, "The Committee of Ten ran Infinity Circle, we were among them, and we had to make tough decisions to keep people safe. Shifters were an unknown quantity, we couldn't predict what they were capable of, so we imprisoned them, studied them, watched them, killed them if they were deemed a threat...to find their strengths, their weaknesses, everything we could use. When the Iron Serpent sank, we lost everything...all those sacrifices and terrible deeds, all for nothing"

"It's not that simple" explained Cato, "humans are a known quantity, they have limits...Shifters are immortal beings that could have hundreds of years of knowledge, and as of yet untapped powers, which we can neither control nor predict...so we developed technology to even the score. Now, the precautions of yesterday are neither possible nor necessary".

"We didn't know, that was the problem" said Cato, "now we understand the limits of their powers...although in some ways that may be worse..."

"It's possible to detect them, whatever form they take. They show up differently to humans on certain wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum" explained Cato, "that's what the goggles and the quadrotor are for. There are multiple ways to become one, this much we know from the Blacksite, something mentioned about an injected, artificial conversion still needs investigation. There's also a limit to how long they can stay transformed, and the size of creature they can become...however, most shocking is the fact that barring actually being killed, they are functionally ageless and immortal".

"Something to do with the way their cells age, or rather DON'T age" replied Cato, "if we could somehow unlock that secret, we could reverse engineer it..."

"Either or really, the possibilities are effectively endless, but the secrets of the shifters are proving less than easy to unlock..." replied Cato.

((Sorry I've been so flaky, guys. It probably won't get better anytime soon. Just a warning. But I'll be on periodically at least.))
For a moment Schreod looked at him thoughtfully. "What exactly are you proposing?"
"The RedKingdom has a few questions for your friend here," the soldier next to her said smoothly after a short pause.

((??? Why do my replies keep not showing up?))
For a moment Schreod simply observed Archer in contemplation. "What exactly are you proposing?" he inquired.
"The RedKingdom have a few questions for your friend here," the soldier next to her said smoothly after a pause.

"I'll help you try to get as much truth out of your brother as you want," Archer said. "If you can't bring yourself to use though methods in order to do that, then tell me what it is, and I'll do it. If we can reverse the brainwashing of the WK, then we will have someone to tell us what's really going on. If he isn't brainwashed, then we can get info from the girl he's with. I'm willing to help with both." ~* Destiny had heard of the RK, but it was hardly spoken of often around the children. Why would the adults want to scare them? But she did know they weren't necessarily nice. "W-why?" she asked. (that's really weird. I just replied to you as well. Here's what I put.)

((That's the post I just replied to, Night.
Yeah, I guess we are done. Hmm. What ever happened to that Lillian/Diana/Franz/Christoph plot? I don't know if we can advance with Felix and Jennette until Archer talks to the former.))
